Fluttershy ran excited to the library. She called al her friends to com together cause she had great news to tell. She jelled when she saw Applejack walking in Twilight’s house. But she was to far and Fluttershy’s voice was to soft, so Applejack didn’t hear it. She knocked exhausted at the door end didn’t wait for response to enter. She saw Twilight near the door who wanted to open the door, but it wasn’t necessary anymore. “Girls, I’ve got great news.” She said. But then looked around and trailed of a bit. “sorry, I didn’t mean to…”
“Don’t worry about it darling” Rarity said. “Now tell us your great news please. We are dieing to hear it.
Fluttershy looked around, just to be sure everypony was here. “well, guess what, I saw our old friend Joe yesterday. He’s back in Ponyville. And I invited him to come, he can be here every minute.” She said.
“You’ve got to be kidding me. It’s been more than two years ago since we saw him.” Rainbow Dash said. And she made a looping of excitement.
“wait a sec. Who is this ‘Joe’ your talking about?” Twilight asked with a confused look.
“Long tim’go, b’for you came he’e, Joe liv’d he’e in this threehouse.” Applejack explained. “he w’s the best colt you c’ld find. You probably know h’m as ‘Rocking Joe’”
“Do you mean the ‘Rocking Joe’? As in ‘the best guitarist ever’? The idol of the year?” Twilight asked.
“Of course you silly. How many Rocking Joe’s do you know?” Pinkie Pie asked.
“I can’t belief this. The real Rocking Joe lived here, in my house.” Twilight said. “but wait again. You al know Rocking Joe and you never told me?”
Just as Rainbow want to answer that, they heard a hard knock at the door. “That must be him” Fluttershy said, and she trotted to the door and opened it.
In the doorway stood a dark grey pegasus with long brown manes. He was a bit taller than Fluttershy but way stronger as her. He wore a acoustic guitar on his back.
“It really is Rocking Joe” Twilight said. And she shook a bit nervous.
“Well, actually my name is Haydrian Smith.” The stallion said with a deep but soft voice.
“Smith? You’re family of Applejack?” Twilight asked.
“Well, kind of. I’m a far nephew of Granny Smith.” Haydrian explained. He looked a bit round and seemed a bit nervous to. “so… you’re the new owner of the library now?” he asked Twilight.
“Yes, I came here short after you leaved.” Twilight said.
“Anyway” Rainbow said bored of this conversation “how was your tourney Joe?”
“Great. I saw lots of awesome stuff in the big city’s, though. And check out. I’ve got some souvenirs.” Haydrian said and he took a saddlebag and took a few gift’s. “a little snowball of Van Hoover” and he gave the ball to Pinkie. “A satin scarf from Tall Tail.” And he passed the scarf to Rarity. “a new pair of horseshoes from Appleloosa” and he tossed them to Applejack. “Fluttershy? You remember that tiny figurine you had once, but it broke?” ha asked. Fluttershy nodded and started to smile. “Here you’ve got a new one.” And he showed the figurine of two bunnies hopping together. Fluttershy took it and smiled even harder. “and for you Rainbow, the best cider I could find. And he took a bottle and gave it to Rainbow.
“Sweet, real premium apple cider from the Hollow Shades. It’s very rare because no ponies of that town really sells them.” Rainbow Dash said.
Haydrian Smiled but felt immediately guilty when he saw Twilight. He ran out of presents. “heu… Twilight for you… I’ve got a… house key?” He gave a key to Twilight. “It was mine once, but now you live here, so I’ve got to find another house to sleep.”
“How do you mean” Twilight asked.
“Well. I’m getting a little bit bored of al those concerts, so I’m gonna stop for a while. And I think I’m going to stay here in Ponyville.” He explained.
“great. It’s gonna be just like before.” Pinkie Pie said.
“not jet, I still have one performance tomorrow. Here in Ponyville to be exact. And I’ve got tickets for al of you. Even for you Twilight.” He said. And he dole out the tickets. “now, there is one thing I wanted to ask.” He said. “can I sleep over at someone? I’ve got no place to stay for the night.”
“Sure, you can stay at the barn as long as you need to.” Applejack said.
“Great.” He said. He took his guitar from his back and started to play a little riff. “this is a song I’ve been working at for a little time, and I want your opinions about it okay? You’re the first ponies who hear this, and if you like it, it’s gonna be a song for the concert tomorrow.”
The mares came a bit closer and listen very well to the song.

“Haydrian, you’ve overdone yourself this time. It was a terrific song you played.” Rarity said when the song was done.
“It was great” Fluttershy said.
“and that guitar solo was totally kick ass!” Rainbow Dash said. She got a stomp from Applejack who made up a look that Dash had to watch her words. “What?” Rainbow Dash said. “It’s the truth.”
“Why, hello Haydrian. Welcome back. I didn’t know you would come.” Grany Smith came out her rocking-chair when she saw Haydrian and Applejack coming in. “how’re you doing?”
“I’m fine, just a bit tired, so if you don’t mind, I’m going to sleep. I’ve got a big day tomorrow.” Haydrian said. He walked upstairs and tried to find a bedroom.
“That was… weird.” Applebloom said.
“Yup” a big red stallion said. Big Macintosh turned around toward Applejack, waiting for some explanation.
“Please forgive him. He nearly slept last night, and he still has a lot of work to do for tomorrow.” Applejack said.
“but couldn’t he say at least ‘hi’ or something?” Applebloom said. “He just ignored me, and he just arrived here.”
“Belief me if I say he wasn’t ignoring you.” Applejack said. Applebloom gave a puzzled look and Applejack started to smile. “With ‘big day’ he didn’t mean that concert.” Granny and Big Mac now looked confused to.
Applejack started to explained everything what happened that day and what would probably happen tomorrow. After that they al started to smile. “I hope your guess right.” Applebloom said.
“me to” Applejack said.
“Yup”.
The rooster crowed loud when Celestia rose the Sun. But it didn’t wake al the ponies of Sweet Apple Acers. Haydrian already left the barn and was now at the stage where we would perform. He sat up al the instrument of his band mates, who were still in Canterlot for family business, he checked out or the lights were still working, and the curtains moved smoothly, and other important stuff. He was busy with keying his guitar when he noticed there was a mare staring at him.
“uh… hello there, the show starts just over… four hours.” Haydrian said.
The grey pegasus with lemon blond hair flow a bit closer. “I do saw you before… are you the colt of the milk commercial?”
“What? Milk commercial?” he wanted to say something rude but then noticed the pony’s eyes weren’t strait. “uh… what’s your name?”
“I’m Derpy Hooves. And you? Do you like muffins?” the mare asked.
“well yeah” Haydrian said surprised by the question. “Muffins are delicious.”
“Derpy came very close to Haydrian. And started to smile. “good. We can be friend!” she said. And she flew of the stage and walked away.
“that was odd.” Haydrian sighed But just when he wanted to continue his work he heard a cough behind him.
“Mister Rocking Joe?” a green unicorn mare asked. “I know the show isn’t started but I was wondering. Can I have an autograph?”
“sure.” Haydrian said. “do you have a piece of paper or something?” and he took a black felt pen. “on which would you like it?”
“pleas write Bonbon on it.” And she gave a paper to Haydrian.
“here you go Bonbon.” He said.
“oh, my name is Lyra. Bonbon is a good friend of me. And now with this, I can ask her out, and maybe she’s going to be my future marefriend.” the unicorn said and she trotted away.
Haydrian looked confused and he turned around, tried to continue his work, but then saw a call-box appearing out of nothing. A handsome colt stepped out. Haydrian heard the colt talking to his self “Finely! My Tardis is finely fixed!”
Haydrian got a few nervous twitches. “what happened in those years when I was away?"
Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie, Rarity and Applejack stood in front of the crowd. “where is Fluttershy?” Rainbow yelled. “the show is almost over.”
“In the back of this herd. She was to afraid to come over here.” Rarity replied.
It was hard to understand each other because all the mares behind them screamed in there ears.
“before we end this show, our last for the next couple of months, I want to sing a special song for a special mare here in the audience.” Haydrian yelled in the microphone. One of his band mates started to play a little riff. “this mare is so special to that I hope she’s willing to be my special somepony. It’s kind of emotional which is not our normal stile, but uh… well. This is for you Fluttershy!”
The five mares’ eyes grew big when they heard the name ‘Fluttershy’. “I knew it. I was right!” Applejack said.
In the back of the audience Fluttershy heard the song and began to smile. Little teardrops were forming in her eyes. “he… he do?… I love you to Haydrian.” Fluttershy whispered. She ran trough to crowd, trying to come to the front. But all the mares were slowing her down.. She sang along. She even knows why he picked this song.

A long time ago, two or three years before Twilight moved into Ponyville, Haydrian came for the first time in Ponyville. Nopony ever met him before, so Pinkie Pie threw a party to welcome him. Everypony asked him for his special talent. But because he had no guitar at hoof, he couldn’t show up his moves. A few days later, Haydrain was in the library, jamming a bit, when Fluttershy passed. She got intimidated by this song, and that day, she fell in love with him. After that day, she never heard that song again.
“You're an angel witch, you're an angel witch” she sang. Fluttershy wanted to get to the stage as fast as possible to hug his new coltfriend.
“I didn’t knew Haydrian had feelings for Fluttershy.” Rarity said.
“What? C’m on. It was so obvious.” Applejack replied.
Haydrian flapped his wings to mention his guitar solo, but than shook heavily. His eyes tirned weird and he fell on his back. His band mates didn’t knew what to do.
Twilight saw al of this and react immediately. “Rainbow, get nurse Mercy now!” she yelled and ran up the stage.
Rainbow Dash flew of toward the hospital, and the others followed Twilight. “Sorry you can not pas.” One of the guards said.
“I’m a damned princess! Obey my commands and let me in!” Twilight yelled irritated. For the first time she really used the advances of being a princess
The two guards looked anxious at each other “uh… of course sorry princess Twilight we’re so sorry” they said. They let Twilight pas but stopped the other three mares. Haydrian was still shaking a lot but didn’t say anything. When Twilight got to him.
Fluttershy noticed that the music stopped. She stood still And tried to see what happened, cause the song couldn’t be over. Her eyes grew wide when she saw Haydrian on his back. “no!” she yelled. At that moment she remembered that she had wings. She flew up and flew as fast as she could to the stage. She saw a doctor coming up the stage.
“here is he” Rainbow Dash said to nurse Mercy. The nurse ran toward the grey pegasus who stopped shaking around. The nurse sighed when she got to him and stood still.
“what’s wrong? Why don’t you help him?” Twilight asked.
“I’m so sorry. But I can’t help him anymore. He stifled in his one puke. Sorry.” Mercy said.
“NO!” Fluttershy yelled. She heard everything nurse Mercy said. “you’ve got to do something! Please? Isn’t there anything you can do?”
“no. I’m so sorry to tell, but Rocking Joe is death.” Mercy said with tears in her eyes. This was the first patient who died during her shift. And the worst thing of all. She was to late to do something.
Fluttershy wept and trotted to Haydrian.
“You loved him to isn’t it?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Of course I loved him! Are you stupid or what?” Fluttershy shouted. Rainbow was startled by her reaction, but then realised that she just asked the most stupid question she could ask.
“Okay show is over” Rarity said trough the microphone. Al the fans started to leave Ponyville Square.
Fluttershy hugged the lifeless body who was a great guitarist once. Her tears were rolling of her muzzle.
“Come on Fluttershy.” Twilight said. “It’s time to go home.”
A week after Haydrian’s funeral. Fluttershy sat at home, she was still sad about his death. She couldn’t forget him. It was like Haydrian was still there. She was starring at the tine figurine he gave her as she got interrupted by a hard knock at the door. She wasn’t up for talking to somepony, so she ignored the sound and continued the starring and act like she wasn’t home. Again a hard knock. But than she heard a voice of a stallion who sounded a bit familiar. She got curious and decide to open the door. Tree big stallions stood in the doorway, looking at the yellow pink pegasus. “are you Fluttershy?” one of them said.
“hum… yes. Why?” Fluttershy said while she did a step backward.
“well” an other stallion continued. “we’re Haydrian’s band mates”
“yes…” Fluttershy said. And she felt a bit more comfortable.
“thanks to Haydrians last performance, we know he had feelings for you.” said the last one.
“yeah, that’s quite obvious when he yelled it.” Fluttershy said.
“and we heard that you loved him to, so…”the first one said.
“we’ve got a gift for you.” the second said. And the last one took a guitar from his back. “here’s Haydrian’s favourite guitar. For you, so you’ve got something of him.”
Fluttershy took the acoustic guitar and immediately recignised the text that was written at the front. “Monster Mash” she whispered to herself. “Thanks guys. I… I don’t know how to thank you.” She hoped that they would say “no thanks” and than just leave. Because she had the feeling she could cry every moment.
“no thanks.” one of them said. “it was a pleasure to meet you.”
“great, they’re about to leave.” Fluttershy thought to herself.
“But can we talk to you for wile?” the smallest colt said.
“I don’t want to sound unappreciative, but is it important?” she asked.
“no, we just want to tell a few stories about Haydria, that might interest you.” the colt replied.
“can we have that conversation tomorrow then? I’m not up to talk about him now.” Fluttershy said.
“uh… of course. Let’s say tomorrow noon? In Sugar Cube Corner?” the colt said back?
Fluttershy looked a bit awkward. It sounded like he asked her out.
The colt got the hint. “I mean just to talk. We’ve just have a few questions.”
“Okay then.” Fluttershy said. “I’ll be there.”
Next day, Fluttershy flew off really early toward a house made of clouds. She landed at the balcony and knocked at the door. “He’s open.” she heard somepony say. Fluttershy came in and walked to the living room. A cyan pegasus whit rainbow coloured manes sat on the couch. “oh, hello Shy, what are you doing here so early?” she asked.
“Hum, Dash? Do you know the band mates of Haydrian?” Fluttershy asked. Rainbow Dash nodded. “Well, they want to talk with me about Haydrian. And, well, I was wondering. Do you want to come with me? I…I don’t want to go on my one.” Fluttershy whispered.
“Why do they want to talk whit you?” Dash asked.
“I don’t know. They didn’t say that.” Fluttershy said. “that’s why I want you to be there with me.
“okay then, when is that… talking?” Rainbow Dash said.
“This noon, in Sugar Cube Corner.” Fluttershy said.
“Okay. I’ll be there.” Rainbow said.
“Thanks Dash. Now I’m gonna ask the others.” Fluttershy said.
“Let me help you, I’ve got nothing else to do.” Rainbow said, and she came out her couch “I’ll ask Applejack and Pinkie Pie, and you do Twilight and Rarity.”
Fluttershy smiled, and together they stepped to the balcony and flew of.
“Please Twilight, please come with me to Sugar Cube Corner, please.” Fluttershy begged.
“I’m sorry, I have got an important study, and I nearly slept last night” Twilight said. And she took a few books from a shelf. “And why do you need somepony to be there with you. You’re old enough to talk to strangers by your self.”
“But this conversation is about Haydrian.” Fluttershy said.
“So, it’s not a big deal if you ask me.” Twilight said.
“But it is a big deal.” Fluttershy said. “each time when I talk about him, I feel a terrible stab in my hart.”
Twilight sighed. “fine, I’ll be there to.”
At that moment, somepony knocked at the door. Twilight opened it and Rainbow Dash flew in. “How did it go?” Fluttershy asked.
“Pinkie pie has to baby-sit, and Granny Smith is sick, so Applejack has to take care of them. So they can’t come. How about you?”
“Rarity is in Manehattan to deliver a new dress for Sapphire Shores. So she can’t come either.” Fluttershy replied.
“Wait, Rainbow Dash was about to come to?” Twilight asked. “why do I have to come then?”
“so you came hear the stories to.” Rainbow Dash said.
Twilight sighted again. “great. Come on girls. It’s almost noon. How earlier we get there, how earlier I can continue my study.”
The tree stallions were already in the shop when Fluttershy and her friends arrived. They went to a table and sat across them. “who are those ponies?” one of the stallions asked.
“Those are my friends. Rainbow Dash and Twilight.” Fluttershy said.
“what we’re going to say is something private. So…” an other stallion continued.
Fluttershy already know what would come so she interrupted them. “no. if they can’t hear it, I don’t want to hear it either.”
The last one sighted. He looked at his pals and they both nodded. “okay than” he said. And they leaned a bit forward and began to whisper.
“You all know that Haydrain was one of the best guitarists in Equestria, but it’s not because he had so much skills, sure he had skills but, his blinding fast moves and totally kick ass solos, came from the guitar.”
“Of course, they come from a guitar. You can’t make epic guitar solos with your mouth.” Rainbow Dash joked.
“no, no. what I try to say” the stallion continued “is that the guitar I gave Fluttershy yesterday is enchanted. It’s made of the strongest three in the Everfree Forest. The strings are made of the metallic roots from the Three of Harmony. And, it was al compounded by the Miasma himself.”
“You mean the Miasma, like in the ghost who brings horror and pain wherever it goes?” Twilight asked.
The stallions nodded. “Haydrian bought it but the Miasma betrayed on him. He cast out a spell and cursed the guitar. Haydrian’s soul was bounded to the guitar. Half of his spirit is locked in that guitar. But now he’s death so…”
“so what? What happens than.” Fluttershy asked.
“well, you know if a pony dies, his spirit is free and goes to the afterlife.” one of the stallions continued. “but because a part of his spirit is still in that guitar, he isn’t free. He’s still somewhere between earth and afterlife. In other words, he’s still spooking around. In that guitar.”
“That’s terrible. Is there something we can do about it?” Fluttershy asked.
“I think so. The Miasma said only a mare who truly loved him can break the spell and let his soul be free. And we hope that you’re that mare.” one of the stallions said.
“how can I break the curs.” Fluttershy said.
“I don’t know. The Miasma never said it.” he said.
Fluttershy looked a bit disappointed but than one of the stallions took a paper.
“The Miasma wrote it down.” He said. “it’s written in old Equestrians. We searched for a way to translate it, but without success. I hope that you’ve got more luck with it than us.” He stood up and the two others did the same. “we’re sorry, but we’ve got to leave right now. We wish you good luck.” And the tree stallions left the mares alone.
A few days later, Twilight invited Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy to her house, she had something to say. When the two Pegasus’s arrived, Twilight took a big scroll. “Girls, I’ve got great news. It took a lot of work, but I finally translated the text.”
“What does it say?” asked Rainbow Dash.
“It says that the only way to free Haydrians soul is to bring the guitar to the Miasma, and beat him in a battle with his one rules.” Twilight said.
“That’s it? nothing more?” Rainbow Dash said.
“You don’t know the Miasma, is it?” Twilight asked. Rainbow Dash shook her head. “The Miasma is an evil creature who enjoins to see other ponies suffer. He brings diseases like pestilence. Everything he touches get destroyed. Each footprint of him changes in a dark infertile muck. Celestia tried to banish him from Equestria, but his power was a bit to strong for her. Now he’s locked in the Badlands. The only place were we can meet him is on the top of Mackintosh Hills.” Twilight took a map. “we can take the train to Appleloosa, but than we’ve got to go south-eastward. By foot”
“This sounds like a big adventure.” Rainbow Dash said.
“Do you even realise how dangerous this is?” Twilight asked.
“That’s right” Fluttershy said. “And that’s the reason why I have to do this on my one.”
Twilight and Rainbow Dash stood stunned of Fluttershy’s reaction. “You can’t go on your one. It’s to dangerous.” Twilight said.
“I know, but I don’t want to bring you all in danger.” Fluttershy said.
“Danger is my middle name.” Rainbow Dash said. “If you like it or not, I’m with you.”
“me to.” Twilight said.
Fluttershy looked a bit relieved. It was nice to know that she could count on her friend.
“You can ask Pinkie Pie to watch for your pets while were away.” Twilight said.
“Now, where are we waiting for? Fluttershy, do you have your guitar.” Rainbow said excited.
“Yes.” Fluttershy said. And she pointed at the guitar she was carrying on her back for the whole day by now.
Twilight took a saddlebag whit books and paperwork. And then the tree mares left the library and flew to Sugar Cube Corner first to inform Pinkie Pie. Pinkie promised she would tell the others about there mission and then they flew to the train station.
When the train left Ponyville, Rainbow Dash hung her head out the window “Miasma, here we come.”
“Okay girls, we’re almost in Appleloosa” Twilight said. And she put a few scrolls back in her saddle bag.
“Twilight?” Fluttershy asked. “you said that the only way to free Haydrians soul, is by beating the Miasma in a battle with his one rules.” Twilight nodded. She did remember that. “well, do you know what kind of battle it would be?”
Twilight waited a bit and considered about the question. “not really. Nopony ever challenged the Miasma, but there are rumours that a challenge of the Miasma always ends with death.”
Fluttershy was shocked when she heard the word ‘death’ and she slowly turned her head toward the window. “death” she whispered. She wasn’t up to see another pony dieing who she loved.
“Calm down Shy, it’s gonna be alright.” Rainbow Dash said. “remember who we are? We beat a lot of villains together.”
Fluttershy threw her thoughts of the worst scenarios out of her mind and stroked the guitar which was laying next to her during the whole trip. It felt good. It was like Haydrian was there next to her. And actually, it was. Howell, a part of his soul although.
“APPLELOOSA! Get out here!” the train guard yelled.
“This is our stop.” Twilight said.
They trotted away toward Appleloosas Town Square. “okay, before we leave, we need some materials for the mountains. If you two go and get some water and ropes. Than I’ll study the map how we’ve got to walk.” Twilight said.
“I don’t have any bits” Fluttershy said. She looked at Rainbow Dash.
“don’t look at me. I spent my last bits on the train for that Cider, remember?” Dash said.
The two pegasi looked to Twilight. “I’m sorry, I’m broke as well”
“now what!” Rainbow Dash said. “ how are me supposed to buy thighs without money?”
“I’ve got an idea.” Fluttershy said. She walked to a near shop and asked or she could lent a bowl. Then she trotted to the centre of Town Square and took the guitar from her back. She made a gesture to Rainbow Dash to come to her.
Rainbow Dash flew hesitant to Fluttershy. “clear your mind and sing the first thing that comes in your head.” She whispered.
“sing?” Rainbow asked. “I’m not that good with singing things.”
“just do it.” Fluttershy said and she started to jam a bit.
Rainbow Dash was a bit nervous, but then she opened her mouth. “This is a song me and shy made five minutes ago. It’s called master exploder.”
“I do not need she does not need a microphone a microphone. my voice is bucking…bucking bucking POWERFUL!
aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhha”
The passers by stopped and looked at the two Pegasi who preformed a great song. “who are those mares” one of them asked.
“I don’t know. But I know I like them.” An other passer by said.
When the song was over, they collected twenty-one bits. “this should be enough.” Fluttershy said.
“Wait a sec, how did you know this was about to work” Dash asked.
“simple, because Haydrians soul is still in this guitar, it still has some power. Enough to make up random songs. Even to let you sing along.” Fluttershy said.
“that was awesome.” A brownish coloured colt ran to the two mares.
“oh… hi Braeburn” Fluttershy said.
“I didn’t know you could rock that good?!” he said. “I mean, the song was great, burt play guitar on your back, that’s physically impossible.”
“Fluttershy, why don’t you get the stuff Twilight was asking for” Rainbow Dash sighed “than I’ll tell braeburn the story.”
A little time later, Twilight, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were back together. “Finally you’re here.” Rainbow Dash said to Fluttershy.
“what? I was as fast as I could.” she said. “and, how can you be that fast?’
“let’s say, I was short, and clear.” Rainbow Dash said.
“pleas don’t tell me you…” Fluttershy said.
“yes, I told him that he could screw up and I insulted him a few times.” Dash said.
“why would you do that” Twilight asked.
“because he’s creeping me out.” Rainbow Dash explained.
“That’s not a reason to be that rude.” Twilight said.
“no? even if you know that he’s stalking me since the day I met him?” Rainbow said. “he won’t stop with sending love-letters. It’s quite scary if you know what he writes to me.”
Twilight looked a bit confused but saw that Fluttershy was nodding approvingly. Apparently she already know this. “Anyway… , I found a path that leads us to the foot of the hill. It would take a wile, but because we all have wings, we will be there in no time.” Twilight said.

In the mean time, in Ponyville, Derpy Hooves crashed next to Rarity’s carousel. “Derpy, what happened.” Rarity, who saw Derpy falling, ran outside.
The grey pegasus sat up and put her mailmare hat back on her head. “I have a letter for Rainbow Dash, but I can’t find her.”
“Rainbow Dash is away for a wile. She’s going to Mackintosh hills. But you can give the letter to me. I’ll give it to her when she’s back.” Rarity said.
“What’s that?” Pinkie pie asked when she saw the letter.
“It’s for Rainbow Dash.” Rarity said.
“what does it say?” Pinkie asked.
“I don’t know. I didn’t read it.”
“well. Let’s read it.” And Pinkie pie opened the letter.
“what? We can’t read it. It’s private.” Rarity said. “it would be wrong…” she looked at the letter. “to see her secrets…” she took the letter and bent it open “but so fun.”
Pinkie Pie stood next to Rarity and they started to read.
“this is new.” they said.
“we can’t fly up the hill.” Twilight said.
“why not?” Rainbow dash asked.
“it’s too hot to fly.” She answered. And she wiped the sweat from her forehead.
“Okay then” Rainbow sighted.
Fluttershy landed exhausted and wet next to Twilight. “the sun, is so hot out here.” She panted.
“I know.” The climb was tough, but went smoothly. They found a cave near the top of the hill. “let’s rest here for a while.” Twilight said.
“good idea” Fluttershy said. And she sat down in the middle of the cave. She took the guitar and started to play a little riff.
“who dares to awake me.” A voice from the shadows said. A red eyed skeleton whit a dark grey cloak.
The red eyed skeleton came closer to the three mares. Just as Fluttershy tried to run away, the Miasma cast a spell and block the exit with a invisible force field. “don’t run away,” he said. “it’s been such a long time since I had visitors.”
“and probably your last” Twilight said and she tried to break out.
“don’t be such a coward” Rainbow Dash said. And she pulled Twilight and Fluttershy closer to the Miasma.
“your cyan coloured friend is right.” The Miasma said. “I don’t bite.” And he started to smile, but it was an unfriendly one. His eyes had a spark when he saw Fluttershy’s back. “Is that Thé guitar?”
“the one you made and put Haydrians soul in? yes.” Rainbow Dash said.
“and who of you is here to break the spell?”
the three friends looked confused at each other. “we all are.” Twilight said.
“I know, but who is the ‘great love’ who’s the only one who can break the spell?” the Miasma asked.

“congratulations. Due to you, Haydrian is death.” The Miasma said.
“don’t listen to him Shy, he’s trying to confuse you so you can’t beat him anymore.” Rainbow Dash said.
“but it’s true.” The Miasma said. “cause of his love to you, he died.” The Miasma came closer and scratched in Fluttershy’s long pink manes.
“what do you mean?” Fluttershy asked.

“Rainbow!” Twilight said.
“but wait, how can you know Haydrian is death?” Fluttershy said.

The Miasma smiled and rolled with his eyes. “maybe.”
“you… you…monster” Fluttershy whispered. “how could you.”
“easy. When his soul was focused on you and his love to you, it was easy for me to enter…” the Miasma explained.
“It was rhetorical! You brainless dip**** f****** son of a b****.” Rainbow Dash shouted.
“RAINBOW DASH!!” Twilight yelled.
“sorry, but that **** of **** with a **** and **** **** ****” Rainbow Dash continued.
“okay, that’s enough.” Twilight said. And she cast a spell that changed Rainbow’s mouth into a zip and closed it. Rainbow could only mumble anymore.
“where did that girl learned such a cruel language.” The Miasma asked.
“none of your business.” Fluttershy said pissed off. “the only thing that you’ve got to know is how you’re getting beaten today!”
Twilight’s eyes grew big when she heard Fluttershy saying this. She’d never expected to hear this from Shy.
“what are your terms for this battle?” Fluttershy said still pissed off.
“okay, okay. I get it. you want to fight and stuff to free the spirit of your death coltfriend.” The Miasma said. “pity, I would like to talk to you for a longer time.”
“I’ll talk to you after I drilled you in the ground!” Fluttershy said.
“Fluttershy? Why so pissed.” Twilight asked.
“he killed my coltfriend! He has to pay for it.” Fluttershy said.
“’mumble, mumble’” Rainbow Dash garbled. And she lift her forehoof in the air and than smashed it down.
“okay, the stake is clear? If you win, Haidrians soul is free. If I win, than I’ll eat your soul.” The Miasma said.
“did you said eat?” Twilight asked.
“yep.”
“what kind of battle is it?” Fluttershy asked.
“isn’t that obvious?” the Miasma said. And he pointed at the guitar that Fluttershy was still carrying in her back.
“Pinkie? Do you have all the decorations?” Applejack asked.
“right here.” Pinkie said. She ran in the barn but fell over a rock. The whole barn was covered with streamers and balloons.
“darling, you’ve got to be more careful.” Rarity said.
“sorry, but I’m just so excited.” Pinkie Pie said. “who ever thought that Rainbow would ever get a letter like that?”
“I know, I’m so happy for her.” Rarity said.
A ring from the kitchen interrupted Applejack’s focus. “the cake is ready.” She yelled.
“That looks delicious” Pinkie Pie said when Applejack entered back in the barn with a big chocolate cake Pinkie tried to take a big bite from it, but Applejack stopped her.
“this is for Rainbow when she’s back.” Applejack said.
“now that you say that, when are they back?” Rarity said.
“I don’t know” Applejack said. “Pinkie, do you know that?”
Pinkie Pie thought for a little wile “no, but I’m sure they are on there way back.”
Fluttershy played a fine solo. “that was good.” Twilight said.
“you think that? Watch this!” The Miasma said. And he took a guitar that came out of nowhere. And he played a orgasm good solo. The mouths of Twilight and Fluttershy fell open. Rainbow Dash’s mouth was still closed by the zipper.
“I was just getting started!” Fluttershy said. And she played an inspiring good solo that made the Miasma nervous.
“way to go!” Rainbow said. She finally figured a way out to open the zip. “kick that **** ass”
“Rainbow!” Twilight said. And she closed the zip again and hung a big padlock at it.
“uh… wait, look at this.” The Miasma said anxious. And he played a riff but in stead of making good music, he created a laser and shot at Fluttershy.
“that’s cheating!” Twilight said madly.
“no, it’s a rule that I didn’t explained.” The Miasma said.
“Fluttershy?” a grey pegasus asked.
Fluttershy opened her eyes. She immediately recognised the face of the stallion. “Haydrian? Where am I?” she looked around and saw that the whole environment was grey-green and filled with stars. “is this the afterlife?”
“no silly. This is the mid-dimension. Something between death and alive.” Haydrian said. “but that doesn’t care. You’ve got to listen to me.”
“Haydrian…” Fluttershy whispered.
“I’ve got a plan to beat the Miasma for once and for ever. After you heard it, I’ll send you back.” He said.
“no. I’m finally back to you. I don’t want to leave you. You’ve got no idea how much I missed you.” Fluttershy said. “I love you.”
“I love you to. But if we don’t do something, the Miasma will eat your soul, and than you’re literally gone.” Haydrian said.
Fluttershy sighed. A silver teardrop appeared in the corner of her eyes.
“the plan is easy.” He said.
After he explained his plan, Fluttershy looked in his eyes.
“you understood me?” Haydrian asked.
Fluttershy nodded.
“than I’ll send you back.” He said.
“when do I see you again?” Fluttershy asked.
“I… I don’t know.” Haydrian said. He couldn’t hold his tears to. The two ponies hugged each other and nuzzled.
“goodbye” Haydrian said. At that moment, Fluttershy cried even harder. “I’m sorry.” And Fluttershy vanished. Haydrian left alone with empty hoofs. “I hope she’s gonna make it.”
“it seems that my dinner is served” the Miasma said. And walked toward Fluttershy.
“no!” Twilight said. And she unlocked the padlock from Rainbow’s muzzle and changed the zip back into a mouth.
“yeah! We’ll stop you. You …” she wanted to say something cruel, but than looked at Twilight who gave her a warning face.
“you… bad guy” Rainbow said.
“don’t worry, you’re next.” He said. Just as he wanted to attack, Fluttershy woke up and jumped angrily toward the Miasma.
“eat cake you bastard.” Fluttershy yelled. And she smashed the guitar at the Miasma’s head. The guitar splintered immediately and the miasma vaporised.
“nooooooo…” he yelled. “buck all of you…”
The force-field vanished. The pieces wood of the guitar were moving, and flow in the air. There materialized a grey fog, and soon there was a face into it.
“Haydrian!” Fluttershy cried. And she ran toward the smoke. “you’re back.”
“not for long, I’m affright.” Haydrian said. “anyway, thank you. You beat the Miasma and freed my spirit.”
“and now you’re back and everything is back to normal right?” Rainbow asked.
Haydrian looked with sad eyes to Fluttershy. “I’m sorry.”
Fluttershy didn’t know why, but she had to think at the song that Haydrian sang before he died.
“The more love I feel for you, the more you fade away Why can't you come and love me, do I have to stay this way I'm going to go insane if nothing happens soon I look out at the night to see your shadow by the moon”
Fluttershy sang.
Haydrian stood stunned and he nodded. “I’m sorry. But you’ve got to forget me.”
“I…I understand.” Fluttershy said. And Haydrain fade away.
“Fluttershy? Are you going to come with us?” Twilight asked.
“were heading back to Ponyville.” Rainbow Dash said.
“Are you okay” Rainbow asked when they were back in the train.
“I’m fine.” Fluttershy said. “I just try to forget him.”
Twilight nodded. She understood it too. “I’ll ask the others to help you when we’re back in Ponyville.

“welcome back.” Pinkie Pie yelled when Twilight, Rainbow and Fluttershy stepped out the train. “you’re just in time for the party.”
“Pinkie, hum, to be honest, I’m not up for a party right now.” Fluttershy said.

“Now you made us curious.” Twilight said.
“but you’ve got to wait a little more.” Applejack said.
“and I don’t want to spoil” Pinkie Pie said. “but it’s about Rainbow Dash.” Pinkie said it in the hope that Fluttershy would come along to the barn for the party.

“okay then.” Fluttershy said.
the barn was beautiful decorated with streamers and balloons. There was even a big banner witch says ‘congratulations Rainbow’. There was cake and sarsaparilla, apple turnovers, apple dumplings, apple fritters and more stuff like that.
“this is beautiful” Twilight said.
“now. What is that ‘big’ news you were talking about?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“well, there was a letter for you.” Rarity said.
“A letter? From the wonderbolts? I’ve been waiting for so long to get a letter of them.” Rainbow Dash said.
“It’s even better.” Applejack said.
“better than the Wonderbolts? Impossible.” Rainbow Dash said.
“it is.” Pinkie Pie said.
“Tell it. you made us curious.” Twilight exclaimed.
“okay, we know you’ve got special feelings for a special somepony.” Applejack started.

“And now, that special somepony wrote a letter with his declaration and a proposal.” Rarity said excited.
“now way. I never thought she would ever…” Rainbow shouted.

Rainbow nodded. “yeah, I thought you all now my secret. And that I love Lightning Dust from the Wonderbolts Academy.”
“oh no…” Pinkie Pie said. “this isn’t good.”
“who else did you thought?” Rainbow asked.

“Breaburn to be exact.” Rarity added.
Twilight and Fluttershy sighted. Howell there head was filled with the shocking news that Rainbow is lesbian, the do remember what she said about Breaburn.. they held there breath and waited for the moment that Rainbow would explode and yelled cruel language.

Twilight and Fluttershy sighted. They were relieved that Rainbow wasn’t about to yell.
“Breaburn is a creepy, c***s***ing stalker.” She continued. “each letter that I get from him, I burn up. I tried to turn him down, nice and gently, but he keeps sending letters to me. I tried everything to let him stop. The only one I entrusted this was Fluttershy. I kept it a secret for you because it is a bit embarrassing, and because he’s family of you, Applejack.” Rainbow flew off and wanted to leave the barn. “pleas tell him that I’m not interested.” She flew on, but stopped in the doorway. “oh yeah. The thing I said about Lightning Dust? I never said that.” And she left the Sweet Apple Acres.
“Rainbow. Wait!” Pinkie Pie said.
A caramel coloured pony came out from under the table where he was hidden for the whole time. “I’m sorry Breaburn. But I think you’ve got to leave.” Applejack said. The colt nodded.
“yeah, I’ve got the same idea.” He sighed. “thanks anyway. But now that I know she’s a filly-fooler…” he sighed again. “I’ll never make a chance with her.”
Later that day, Twilight and Fluttershy were in Sugar Cube Corner. They told the whole story to Pinkie, Rarity and Applejack. Rainbow Dash was still gone.
“I’m so happy that everything is back to normal.” Rarity said.
“yeah, howell… Normal?” Twilight said, and she thought about Rainbow Dash.
Fluttershy said nothing but nodded.
“seems that we’ve got the old Fluttershy back” Twilight said. “she was acting so weird during the trip.”
“that was because Haydrian’s anger was in the guitar too.” Fluttershy explained. It was quieten for a while. They were al thinking about Haydrian. Until Fluttershy broke the stillness with a cough. “I think I’m going to go home right now.” She said.
On her way back, she saw Rainbow Dash. Sad on the bridge. “what’s wrong?” Fluttershy asked.
“remember that I said that I love Lightning Dust?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“no.” Fluttershy said. Rainbow gave her a puzzled look. “although. That’s what you said, that I don’t know that you…”

Fluttershy walked of, back to her tree-house. She turned around for one last time before she entered her cottage. And she whispered the final strophe of the song.
