A Nobody becomes a Nopony

Chapter 1

In the usual night time in The World that Never Was, where the world itself is surrounded by buildings of empty space, the sky is always fill with darkness and clouds, and a floating castle is scene in the sky but nearly close to the ground. Above the castle glows over the world of a heart shape moon: Kingdom Hearts.

Inside the castle begins a tale of a certain Nobody by the name Roxas. Roxas comes in and out from missions he done so far as told. Nothing interesting would bring into his thought as his only task is to exterminate Heartless and gather hearts.

Now, Roxas stands alone in the living room where Kingdom Hearts can be seen through the wide window. He stood close to the window, gazing at the heart shape moon as though his mind went blank and continues to gaze it on. That is until Saix walks in to meet Roxas in the living room with a paper in hand.

“Number XIII Roxas, I have a new assignment for you by the order from the Superior.” Saix said as Roxas, who kept his gaze at Kingdom Hearts, finally snaps out but respond casual.

“Oh um...okay.” Facing up to Saix, he receives a paper list with several objectives that are needed to be check.

“We discover a new world that is predicted to have Heartless activity in the area. Though we do not know the circumstances of what this world is exactly, the Superior wants you to investigate that world and report anything about it. What the name the world is or any other information that would be worth it.”

Saix inform and continued. “For now you will go alone on this mission as you’re only objective for today is to look for any suspicious activity. If you come across Heartless in the situation, exterminate and report back immediately. Is that clear?”

Roxas as usual, knows his role for the job since he is the only member in the organization to possess a powerful weapon: the keyblade. With a simple nod to his second commander, Saix walks back into doing his other reports as Roxas prepares himself for whatever world he’s going into.

Deep within the night of Everfree Forest known to be a dangerous place, two mares were walking cautious in the forest.

“So Fluttershy, any idea of why Angel ran away from you? Twilight asked, using her horn as a flashlight to glow their surroundings. Fluttershy reply with worry as she couldn’t understand what went wrong in the first place.

“I don’t know. All I did was ask Angel nicely to finish his carrot before bed time, but he shoved his food away and suddenly scurried off. Oh I hope he’s alright though; I didn’t mean to upset him.” Twilight gave her friend a determine look and said,
“Don’t worry Fluttershy; I’m sure Angel didn’t run too far in the forest. Besides, he might eventually come back to you. But in this dangerous night of Everfree Forest, its best to find him just to make sure he’s alright.”

The shy Pegasus smile gladly and nod as the two mares continue the search.

In the far distance from the two mares, strange dark shadows linger in the bushes as they slowly stalk them from behind out of sight. With the night time in their upper hands, they continue to follow them.

Back in organization base, Roxas continue to scan through the paper he was given earlier and opens the dark corridor. With everything set, he begins to walk towards it until he gets a call from his best friend.

“Hey Roxas wait up!” Roxas looks to his right who called his name.

“Oh, hey Axel!” Roxas said waving to him as Axel walks up.

“I heard Saix mention a new world has been discovered and you’re going to check it out right?

Roxas nodded, “Yeah, he wants me to investigate it and see if there are Heartless in there to deal with.” Axel crosses his arms as he felt as though he wants to tag along with him but Roxas mentions that it was a solo assignment which made Axel irritated.

“Aw jeez, I thought Saix would usually let you have a partner to follow you around in case you run into trouble. But...seeing that you been handling the missions pretty well, I guess he thinks you’re up for the task now.” Axel gave a smile and a thumps up to Roxas.

Roxas scratch his back head, “Yeah I guess so. But still, it would be great if you come along. Though, I guess this mission would probably be short because all I have to do is search for any Heartless and report back to Saix.” Axel pats on Roxas as he wishes him good luck on the mission.

“Might as well get going Roxas.” With that said Axel waves away as he walks back where he came until he stop for a moment and almost forgot to remind him. “By the way Roxas…”

Roxas nearly stopped close to the portal he almost walked in as he looks back at Axel. “Be sure to meet me back at the usual spot. I’ll buy some sea-salt ice creams when you get back. Got it memorized?”

Roxas smile happily and gave an okay nod. With that agreement taken care of, he finally walks in with the dark corridor closing behind him.

The two mares have search for Angel for nearly an hour and the forest begins to get thick and creepy for the two venturing deeper in the night. Fluttershy couldn’t handle well in the forest knowing that there are strange animals that could be dangerous.

Even though she has faced most dangerous animals so far, her fears continue to shroud around her. Twilight begins to worry that the search would take them too deep, putting themselves in danger for who knows what it could be. However, she didn’t want Fluttershy to wait for Angel to return, but the situation became difficult seeing that her shy friend tries to keep up with her.

Twilight and Fluttershy stop to look their surroundings. They called out for Angel a couple of times but no response of moving bushes or shuffling leafs. Twilight gave in a sigh of defeat; they cannot search for the bunny any longer and tried her best to comfort Fluttershy.

“Fluttershy, I’m sorry to say this but we can’t be out here any longer. We’ll try to search for him tomorrow okay.”

Fluttershy felt sadden for not finding Angel in time and wish to keep looking for him, but knowing that Twilight was right, she didn’t wish to drag her friend into this any further and nodded, “Oh I guess so, but thank you for doing your best in helping me look for him. I hope…he’s safe somewhere.”

Before they halt their search, a sudden noise of a bush rustles causing both Twilight and Fluttershy to shriek. Twilight quickly illuminates her horn of light and tries to find where the noise came from until she saw a movement in front of them. It rustles again but nothing came out of its hiding yet which made Fluttershy walk slowly toward the bush.

“Be careful Fluttershy, I’m not sure if it’s Angel.” Twilight whisper low while trying not to scare whatever was in the bush.
The shy Pegasus slowly approaches the bush and lifts it away as her face suddenly lit up with joy.

“Oh Angel, there you are!” Fluttershy squeak happily seeing Angel lying on the ground, hiding until he notice her. He leaps to his owner and gave her a hug.

“Aw it’s okay Angel, you are not alone now.” Fluttershy comfort her little friend. The moment didn’t last long when another bush rustles behind them which cause Angel to jump. He stops his hugging and starts to point out to his owner that something bad is lurking in the bush. Fluttershy lays low to the same level as Angel and tries to understand what her furry friend is doing.

“What is it Angel? Are you hungry?” Angel gave a frown look and shook his head and continues to show signs of trouble in the best way as possible for Fluttershy to understand. Twilight was busy trying to find where the sound came from while Fluttershy on the other hooves still couldn’t help but guess what Angel was trying to say. After several fail attempts for Angel, he face-paw himself as he nearly grabs onto Fluttershy’s head and turn her head to look at the bush that kept rustling.

Finally, Fluttershy gave a sheepish smile to Angel and decides to check out what was causing the noise. Twilight follow behind her when they approach a bush that continue to shuffle until it came to a stop as Fluttershy lift it off. In a sudden scene, a dark creature leaps over both mares and stop.

Just in time for Twilight to light toward the creature, her eyes went wide. A creature right in front of them was a small dark one never seen before. Having yellow glow eyes but no pupil, all dark skins all over its body, 3 finger claws, also have two antennas on its head and its height is nearly the same as Twilight’s assistant, Spike.

“What…what is that thing?” Twilight question herself. “I never have seen any creature like this before.”

As though Twilight begins to think carefully, Fluttershy however sees the dark creature to be cute. Despite her love for animals, she could not resist to come close to it.

“Aw it’s so cute. Hi little…um thing, are you lost?” As Fluttershy gets close enough to pet the creature, she felt a shove from her chest as it turns out to be Angel pushing her away for some reason. It was too late when the dark creature suddenly attacks Fluttershy but is saved by Angel as he took a scratch instead. The bunny squeak in pain as Fluttershy became stun of what have just happen in front of her eyes.

“FLUTTERSHY!” Twilight cried and quickly without thinking, levitates the creature with her horn and threw it to the tree with a hard smack. The dark creature fell down and slump to the ground motionless as Twilight quickly gets to Fluttershy.
“Are you alright?”

Fluttershy was still shock, staring not at the dark creature, but her pet Angel who protected her from getting hurt. She could only snap out in time to realize what happen and cried for Angel as she pick him up.
“Oh my Celestia, Angel!” Fluttershy cried. “Please Angel, please be alright.”

The Pegasus laid her ear to Angel’s chest with tears falling from her eyes and felt a pulse, but looking at his condition, the scratch left a terrible mark on his back. Twilight saw it as well and knew it was time to get out of the forest.

“Come on Fluttershy! We need to take Angel back safely.”

“Uh…o…o…okay but wait.” Fluttershy stopped and look around for the dark creature. “Where did that thing go?”

“I had to throw it away from us Fluttershy, it’s too dangerous and who knows what that thing could do.” Twilight said, trying to warn her shy friend.

Fluttershy wipe her tears away as Twilight levitates Angel and rested on Fluttershy’s back. With that taken care of, the mares gallop away from the scene. Left behind, the dark creature that remain motionless after the mares were gone, suddenly twitch and sprang back to life uninjured. The dark creature looks ahead of where the mares ran off when more shadows begin to emerge from the ground. They were all the same creatures alike as if they were pack of wolves ready to hunt their prey. And so, the shadows leap off, going after the mares.

The night was quiet from the entrance of Everfree forest and no living thing is sighted when a dark corridor reveal itself in a plain grass field. A figure walks out of the portal as it close behind. He examines his surrounding for a sec when he realizes something felt very different. And it wasn’t just the world he was in; it was more of what he became.

He looks around for any river bank in sight and found one nearby a bridge that leads to town. He quickly runs to the river and gets a big surprise. In view of his reflection from the water, was a horse figure, dress in organization uniform in an odd look, having four feet- or hooves to stand on, and most of all; he has wings on his back. His blonde hair and his skin are nearly the same like his human form along with blue eyes but overall, he was a horse.

“Okay….this isn’t what I expected.” Roxas said, as he touches his face and examines his form.

“Great, out of all the worlds I been to, this world turns out to be….I guess different.” Roxas groan by his form he was in, but knowing that he has a job to do, he cannot go back yet. His job after all is to look for any Heartless activity and then leave to report back, but then he felt something important was missing when he lifts both of his fore hooves in front and examines.

“No fingers….just hooves.” Roxas thought. “So….how am I supposed to fight Heartless in this form if I can’t use hands.”
He would soon find out when a sudden cry and scream echo from the Everfree Forest. With no time to think of what was going on, he runs into the forest to follow the sound as he tries to put his hood on to hide his identity.

Back in the deep forest, two mares along having Angel still behind Fluttershy’s back were given a chase as more shadow creatures begin to stalk them. Having no idea where to go, they could only panic and try to run away as far as possible. Twilight could only wish to teleport themselves away from danger but knowing that they were being chased, she couldn’t think straight.

As for Fluttershy, she could only try to keep up with Twilight leading the way even though she have wings, her fear has lock her ability to fly shut and also knew that she might drop Angel if she ever tries to fly. They continue to run blindly with the creatures still keeping up with them.

Far in the distance in the forest, Roxas caught sight of what he knew were chasing after them.

“Heartless….so they’re here in this world after all. Guess I can report back to Saix about this, but first I can’t let those innocent ones get hurt.” Roxas thought to himself but then keeps forgetting about his weapon. Knowing that he can’t use hooves, how would he fight?

With no time to lose, Roxas gallops after them. As he pursues after the Heartless, he tries not to get spotted thanks to his black coat, he is able to blend in with the night pretty well. Though his thought still wonders how he would summon his key. For who knows what he would do once he catches up in time to save them.

His only thought comes to mind of summoning his keyblade as if he is desperate of needing it. Suddenly, he gets what he wanted when a light illuminates in front of Roxas as he stomp his hooves down to stop. When the light fades away, it reveals to be his keyblade floating down to him. Roxas grin as he walks towards his weapon and tries to grab it but failed unfortunately.

“Damn it, no hands Roxas, no hands.” Roxas curse to himself.

He examines carefully in how he would use the keyblade. Since he only have hooves, his only best option is something he doesn’t want to try: his mouth. So without denying any other choice, he twists his neck slightly to a 90 degree turn and held tightly on the keyblade handle with his teeth shut on them. Problems solve for Roxas, but another problem comes in mind: how hard is it to combat with a keyblade with his mouth as a horse?

Back to the chase of the scene, Twilight and Fluttershy couldn’t run any further when they come to a full stop to be block by a huge rock wall of a dead end. Before they even get the chance to find another way out, dark creatures emerge from the ground and surround the two mares. More of them show up that chased after them earlier with nearly 15 of them huddle close to their prey so they wouldn’t escape. Twilight was out of option and knew that it would be impossible to escape from them unless….

“Fluttershy, listen to me.” Twilight said as Fluttershy look back to her. “Whatever happens, I want you to run to Ponyville fast and never look back.”

Fluttershy felt that Twilight might do something risky but ask worriedly, “But…what about you Twilight?”

Twilight’s heart begins to beat faster but remain calm to answer, “I’m going to fight them off however I can to get their attention on me. That way, you will be able to escape in time.”

Fluttershy’s heart sank to hear her best friend willing to risk her own life for her and Angel. Still, she did not wish to abandon Twilight, but what else could she do. The problems with the dark creatures are still unknown to them and she doesn’t know why they would attack them in the first place. Seeing how cute they were, their claws would prove enough that they were dangerous.

Pressure became intense for Fluttershy to decide whether she would do what Twilight says or stay by her side to help if possible. Before Fluttershy even got the chance to say anything, a stallion jumps out of nowhere from behind the crowd and smash down one creature away with a strange weapon in his mouth, causing the rest of the pack to back away.

Twilight and Fluttershy got a good look at the mysterious pony seeing him dress in a black coat that is full-length with a hood nearly covering all over his body including his legs. It has a large silver zipper that fastens at the top and zips down to seal the coat. Also, the design on the silver drawstrings for the hood decorated with a large silver bead hanging from the end and a silver chain ornament adorned with four large cylindrical silver beads that fastens to a loop on either side of the collarbone region. The only mystery the mares were curious about the most is that his hood covers over his head so they couldn’t tell who he really looks like.

Roxas on the other hand or hoof, also got his chance to look back who he just saved, but didn’t expect to save strange colorful looking horses from danger who are just like him. His first sight focuses on the lavender unicorn that has purple eyes with her mane to be Prussian blue with a little highlight of two colors similar to her coat.

The second mare next to her appears to be a Pegasus like him with beautiful eye colors of Cerulean. Her coat is yellow as for her mane color is pink along with her tail. Roxas somehow became more focus on Fluttershy which made her feel scare of his presence until his mind quickly set back to the Heartless.

Two shadows leap toward Roxas as he makes one wide swing and kills off the creatures and disappear out of thin air. He readjusts his battle stance as he looks back to the mares and tries his best to talk with his mouth still holding his weapon, “You two better get out of here! More of these Heartless will keep coming until they’ll take your heart away.”

Twilight became shock at first but suddenly puzzle for the mysterious pony referring to the dark creatures as Heartless and mention of taking their hearts away. Still, the hero is trying to do a favor for them as Twilight called her friend,

“Come on Fluttershy, we better get back to Ponyville.” Fluttershy only thought about the stallion saving their lives.

“But, what about him Twilight?” Fluttershy asked, but got cut off when a shadow came crawling their way toward them from below. Roxas manage to bash it away with an upper blow after the shadow jumped out of the ground in front of the two mares.

“Just run now!” Roxas yelled, after he rested his weapon down a bit.

Without objection, the mares did as Roxas told them and ran to their right side as Roxas quickly gallops ahead of them and kills off the Heartless blocking their escape. With that taken care of, Twilight and Fluttershy fled from the scene while Roxas stay behind and stood his ground facing Heartless on his own. He prepares himself and charges toward them at the same time the Heartless pack did as well.

Away from Everfree Forest is a remote town called Ponyville where all ponies have already gone to bed sleeping happily in the beautiful night. No sounds have disturbed them after some time until Twilight and Fluttershy showed up. They have already come out of the Everfree Forest, but continue to gallop through center of Ponyville.

Their clopping sounds from their running hooves have woken few ponies as some have walk out to see what was going on. When they reach the hospital, Fluttershy asked the doctor to check on Angel while Twilight waits for her.

“Come on Fluttershy, we need to get help. That pony can’t handle those things on his own.” Twilight said as Fluttershy nod without a word. “You go find Rainbow Dash and meet me back at the entrance of Everfree Forest. I’ll go get Applejack and the others.”

And so, Twilight uses her magic and teleports away to look for the girls while Fluttershy finally flies off to look for Rainbow Dash. It didn’t take long enough to gather them when six girls met up and gallop into Everfree Forest. Dash, who is flying with Fluttershy yawns heavily since she was woken up from her usual nap time.

“So….what are we doing here again Twilight?” Dash question as Applejack asked about it too.

“Yah Twi, you asked us ta help ya with something right?” Rarity, who appears to be wearing a sleep robe, also questions to Twilight. “Yes dear, it is rather late but why all the sudden?”

With Twilight leading the way in the forest, explains about the situation.

“I need your help girl to find that mysterious coat pony who saved me and Fluttershy. These dark creatures he’s facing are dangerous. Though I saw him fight them off, they were a lot of them and I’m afraid he might not fight them all on his own.”

Pinkie Pie, galloping beside Twilight, didn’t seem shock about the situation but became more interest of this mysterious pony she mentions. “OH is it a new pony Twilight? Or is it somepony I know?”

“Well, we didn’t quite get a glimpse of his face because of his hood on him.” Twilight reply with a shrug as Pinkie begins to feel excited about it.

“Oh I hope he’s okay. It might be difficult for one pony to handle those creatures.” Fluttershy said. Seeing how worried she is, Dash became serious. Slapping herself in the face to wake up from her drowsiness, she calls to Twi and the rest of the gang.

“Alright double time everypony, we got a pony to rescue!”

And so, they went off in a faster pace as Twilight tries to retrace their step quickly until she recognizes the rock wall nearly in the far distance ahead of them.

“Over there girls!”

In a split second, Dash blast off so fast, leaving trails of rainbow behind. When she arrive the scene, she tighten herself in a fight pose to be ready, but as it turns out nopony is around the scene. Once the girls manage to reach Dash, she turns around and asked in a puff complaint, “Hey, where are those dark creatures you mention Twi?”

“And where is that mysterious pony you mention darling? I don’t see him anywhere?” Rarity asked.

The girls scatter around the area to look for the pony, but it seems that he was nowhere to be found. No dark creatures were sighted as well which is good to say the least. Twilight and Fluttershy begin to feel sadness weigh on them as if they didn’t save him in time. However, somewhere far away from the six ponies location, the corridor of darkness is scene open as the coat pony Roxas walks inside the portal and disappears with the corridor seal away.

Axel has waited for Roxas for a while now, sitting on the usual spot on Twilight Town clock tower where he and Roxas have always hung out. Looking out toward the sunset, he decides to lean back and relax until he heard footsteps. Turns out to be Roxas as he expected but notice his face show a little bit of shock but nevertheless, he welcomes his buddy.

“Hey about time you showed Roxas. Here’s your treat by the way; it starting to melt so might as well dig in before it slips out.”

Axel handed the sea salt ice cream to Roxas who took it and sat down beside his friend as he starts to lick the sweet and salty taste of his favorite treat. They sat there and ate their treat silently which made Axel a bit irritated, hoping that Roxas would talk to him about what happen.

After finishing off their ice cream, Axel breaks the silent, “Alright Roxas, what happen? You’ve been quiet ever since you got here. You usually just talk about stuff you done so far but here you are being all….well almost like you don’t know who you are. Of course, that maybe a bad example but the point is….what happen?”

Roxas looks back at his friend after staring down his Popsicle stick for a while. He sighs as he looks away from him and finally answers, “Well….it’s nothing wrong with me but….”

Axel shows an uninteresting face, waiting for him to finish the sentence.

“You won’t believe what I been to Axel….I was a horse.”

Author: First chapter complete. Though I didn’t think I would type pretty long like this but wow, I guess I got pretty excited. Anyway, feel free to comment and correct anything or give advice of what mistakes I might have done wrong. Just a reminder, this is only my first fanfiction story of MLP thing. But I did fanfiction before but I stopped two years ago so….yeah go easy on me please.

Chapter 2

Further Investigation

Roxas has nearly explain in every detail as possible to Axel from his experience in the new world he gone through. Telling details such as being a horse, finding two more horses, they talk, and actually risk his life to protect them from danger. Axel didn't say anything, only his face shows how unbelieveable his story is. When Roxas finish his side of the story, Axel turns away from Roxas and laughs.

"Oh wow Roxas that's hard to believe ha ha ha. You being a horse?! What a joke!"

Roxas didn't make it sound like it was a joke with a serious look on his face.

"No Axel I'm serious! These two colorful horses were real, I was a horse but with wings. Come on Axel, you gotta trust me on this. I was hoping you would join me to see that world."

Axel stop his laughter as he sighs to calm himself. Though he is a Nobody, he could still laugh to have fun with Roxas.

"Alright Roxas, I'll come with ya but only because I want to see what you look like." Roxas gave a smirk to Axel as though he would make him regret.

"Oh you'll see what I look like, but for you I'll be the first to laugh." The two chuckle when they notice night time has come around in Twilight Town.

"Well better head back to base." Axel said. "Saix might need you again about that report you wrote in."

Roxas groan to hear about Saix when he can be serious about reports. He may not show it but his face pretty much explains the rest. Axel opens the corridor and the two buds walk into the darkness.

They came back into the same living room to where Kingdom Hearts can be view and as Axel expected, Saix was already there waiting for Roxas. Though it appears Saix was not impress with the report he receive from Roxas. Reading off from what Roxas has experience, he finds it vague and disappointing, but when the report mentions Heartless in sight he gave it an approval. Roxas and Axel walk up to Saix, seeing him stare down mostly at Roxas as he gives off another assignment to him.

"I can't say for what you experience in that world Roxas." Saix said in a usual tone as if he had read worst reports from Demyx. "But I can see you done your job on this one. However, I expect you to return back to the same world and this time..." Saix left his last sentence hang.

Roxas looks back to Axel while Axel did the same and both just shrug until the moment came.

"You will be occupy in that world for three days. And after the time ends, you can return back to base and report everything you gather so far. No objections on this mission."

Roxas froze from hearing Saix mention of him staying in that world for three days. Plus, he didn't seem to like the idea other than the fact he has nowhere to shelter in that world as well as only to have one clothes he only has on now. Axel on the otherhand, only laughs for a bit but suddenly stays quiet when Saix gave a dark glare to his "best friend."

Sadly, he couldn't object the order. It had to be done no matter what mission it was, he is special in the organization and the Superior knows why. Roxas accepts the mission as Saix nods,

"Good, you will as soon as you are ready. Don't disappoint the Superior on this task Roxas."

Roxas didn't have to get ready since he's got nothing to prepare for but himself. Once he opens his corridor portal, Axel walks by Roxas and gives him a exciting look as if he plans to tag along with his bud until....

"And where do you think your going Axel?" He froze from a deadly tone he heard from Saix. He walks up behind Axel and grab on his shoulder. Axel looks back to find Saix glaring with intensive glow from his eyes.

"Hey Saix....uh is their a problem?" Axel questions giving off a troll look on his face. Bad move to do that in front of a berserker. Saix ignore his troll face and tries not to get caught in a bad mood.

"I found a couple of tabs left in my office Axel. These tabs are overdue payment of sea-salt ice creams..." Axel shrugs and pretends to act innocent. Before he had to make an excuse, he gets pulled away from Roxas, being drag down the hallway.

"You are not going anywhere until you pay off these tabs Axel." Saix grunted as Axel groans in annoyance but then waves to Roxas.

"I'll catch you later Roxas. I'll find ya when I'm done doing business with Saix."

The boy saw the whole scene to be random, but he waves back to him chuckling. Once Axel and Saix were out of sight, Roxas sighs and enters into the new world again for the mission.

Morning has arrive in Ponyville after the incident from last night. Twilight Sparkle, living in a tree house library, has been constantly searching for any books that hold information about the dark creatures they encounter yesterday.
Reading through titles and pages of each book, she levitates each one away after another behind her what was filled with piles of books.

Twilight has not slept through the night ever since she became frantic of what happen yesterday. The dark creatures she saw, the mysterious pony, the weapon he was using, and the name he refer to those dark creatures as Heartless.
So many questions comes in mind and she could not find answers in her own library.

Footsteps are heard from upstairs when a little purple dragon boy Spike comes down, awaken from his nap time, finds the room to be a mess. Spike notice Twilight's appearance with her mane all messy and her drowsy eyes.

"Uh Twilight." Spike called her. "What are you doing?"

The lavender pony didn't look at her assistant but reply, "I've been looking for any clues of what these mysterious creatures that attacked us earlier."

"Uh....huh, yeah you might want to fill me in on this." Spike requested, but Twilight puffs out of frustration.

"I can't Spike. Something about those dark creatures that attack us are so unknown. I never seen any of those creatures before in Everfree Forest."

"Well did you check the book about Everfree Forest along with other mythical tales of Equestria?" Spike mention, but Twilight nodded.

"I did, but it doesn't show or tell the exact details of these creatures. Its like....they come from somewhere."

Spike rub her chin to think and then snaps an idea, "Why not go to the library in Canterlot Twilight. I'm sure Princess Celestia wouldn't mind letting you go in to check."

Twilight stood for a moment and face hoof herself. To forget about Canterlot library that hold all sorts of information, she might be able to find the book that tells about the so call Heartless.

"Sweet Luna, Spike that's it!" Twilight said happily. "Spike, take a letter. I need to talk with Princess Celestia about this."

Spike grabs a quill and paper from the table,

"Okay, whenever your ready."

Twilight speaks out while Spike writes out every word she said,

Dear Princess Celestia,

I'm sorry not to have any friendship lessons learn for this report today but something has happen yesterday in Everfree Forest. I'll explain to you when I meet you in the castle soon. It is very important because Fluttershy and I have discover something. I hope to to see you soon.

Your faithful student,
Twilight Sparkle.

With the letter finish and sealed, Spike blew fire at the letter and burns away into green smoke.

"Thank you Spike. Now then, I'll just get my things ready and-"

Before Twilight finish, Spike felt gas stir inside his tummy and suddenly burps out a puff of green smoke, reveal to be a letter sent back.

"A letter already?" Twilight was surprise and levitates the scroll to read it.

"Oh, looks like Princess Celestia is sending a carriage to pick me up. I guess it must've been important I sent her." Twilight said excitedly.

She trots around the room to look for her saddle bag despite the mess she made. Once she has found it, she notice by the window a carriage has arrive in front of her home. Before she exits the house, she reminds Spike, "Oh Spike while I'm gone, can you clean up the mess?"

"Don't remind me, I'm already working on it." Spike grunted, picking up books one by one to organize the them.

"Thank you Spike. I'll see you later when I get back." And so, Twilight walks out and enters the small carriage giving a good to go call to the Pegasus guards. The carriage carries her off and heads to Canterlot.

In Celestia's sunny day over Ponyville, ponies in different colors go off on their usual routine, fillies playing around, friend discussions, and other activities that gets everypony busy. But away from Ponyville that is near the Everfree Forest entrance, a black portal has open in the grass field like yesterday. Roxas walks out of the portal in his horse form once again. Same look, same clothes that fit on him, and of course his wings. Though he doesn't know how to use them, he keeps them shut to his side.

Finding it annoying to be back on standing four legs, he looks at his direction to the Everfree Forest. He then looks to the other side to find a bridge connected to another area with a sign that says Ponyville. By the guess of the sign though, his thought tells him that he is refer in his form as a pony. At least, that didn't seem to bother him about it, but it was a good start to know he got something to report about later.

Roxas sighs as a start of his stay in the new world he does not know yet. But at least Ponyville was a nice place to go for better than the forest. He hopes there wouldn't be any Heartless in town when he takes a look into Ponyville.

Almost to forget about something, he stops his pace and put his fore hooves over his head to pull his hood over his face. Taken care of, he walks into Ponyville finding himself to be fill with ponies like him, but all in different colors. Roxas imagines of himself living in some fantasy like this that would never seem to be possibly real, but then again he's been through other worlds that come out to be real from fairy tales.

Continuing to walk down the road, ponies begin to come across his way by his appearance. Some ponies stare at him, some ponies whispers about the new pony in town, and some ponies started to walk away or actually hide from him. The fillies have stop their activity in catching their attention to Roxas who now begins to notice that every pony were staring at him.

"Great just what I need,....ponies to be bother by my appearance." Roxas thought himself. "Though I might need to ask a pony to help me out around this town since I'm not quite familiar with it."

The blond Pegasus scans around his area but only to find ponies walk away or hide from him again. He then catches a glimpse of a pink pony standing in the same direction as he was but....finds her staring at him....with a big grin. Obviously, her whole body is pink as well as her hair to look like a cotton candy except its color is more dark pink of cotton candy as Roxas thought. He became frighten the way the pink pony in front of him gaze his appearance especially with the smile she made. The way her cheeks spread off, its nearly impossible for anyone like him to grin so widely. Though Roxas ignores the thought of it, he decides to get her attention with one word.

"Hi?" And with that being said, the pink pony gasp with a leap of surprise and out of nowhere yells, "OH MY GOSH!!!! A NEW PONY!"

Roxas shutter by surprise from her shout and with a snap, the pink pony zips up to Roxas in a mere second nearly close to him where she can nearly see his face and goes off,

"Hi I'm Pinkie Pie, you must be a new pony because I know everypony in this town but you!" Pinkie introduce in such a fast pace and went off with questions. "Whats your name? Why are you wearing a black coat? Are you one of those strange ponies that go off and save the world from bad things? *GASP* Or maybe you're working with evil bad ponies that try to rule the world!"

Roxas couldn't keep up with Pinkie's non stop chatter and had to stop the pink's hyper mood.

"Hey slow down girl." Roxas said, but tried not to get annoyed. "You were talking too fast, I couldn't keep up with
all the questions you asked."

Pinkie stopped for a moment and the two came into a awkward silence until Pinkie simply apologize with a smile,

"Oh silly me, sorry about that." Roxas sigh of relief as he answer few of Pinkie's simple questions but not the last two.

"My name is Roxas....I wear this black coat for protection and....I keep my hood on to hide my identity. Sounds good enough....um....Pinkie?"

She smiles even more but then gives a little curious look. "Okay Roxy I hear you loud and clear. But why not take off that hood? You'll stick out like a sore hoof in the crowd."

"Well sorry but I'm not comfortable of showing my face to anyone- er I mean any pony." Roxas said, keeping his hood down.

"Please~ Roxy?" Pinkie Pie begged, pulling off the puppy face. "I just wanna see~."

Roxas looks away to avoid her gaze, but no matter which direction to turn away, Pinkie Pie is always in front of his face. For the weirdest pony he ever met, she is impossible to avoid. Her big, pretty, light blue eyes show little tears leaking out, having to put him down in defeat and sigh.

"I guess....it couldn't hurt to take it off." Pinkie Pie randomly does the victory pose for convincing Roxas and gaze at him again to catch the moment.

He takes off his hood, revealing his blond hair and his look to Pinkie Pie who gaze at his face for nearly a minute. Pinkie smiles and accidentally admits, "Wow you're pretty cute for a pony hiding under that hood of yours."

Roxas froze from Pinkie's comment that sink into his head. He never thought he would get a compliment for his appearance, making him blush but lightly. He scratch his head and replies to her, "Well um....thanks?"

Pinkie giggle by Roxas's surprise, bouncing around him in joy. She then ask Roxas,

"Say Roxy, do you want to have a tour around Ponyville?"

Finally hearing that, gives Roxas a chance to get to know the world if he's going to stick around for 3 days. He nods to Pinkie's favor as the girl became excited.

"Okie dokie lokie." Pinkie said and bounces off. "Follow me; I want to show you Sugarcube Corner. Its a sweet shop for all goodies you can eat."

Roxas couldn't help but smile. It seems he has made a friend with a pony even though she seems to be crazy and random, Roxas didn't seem to be bother by her hyper mood....for now. And so, he follows Pinkie Pie leading up to Sugarcube Corner what appears to be made out of sweets or so that's what he thought.

They enter into the shop, surrounded by all kinds of sweets that Roxas cannot imagine to try. Some have cookies, candies, cakes, cupcakes, and much more than he ever seen. Probably the best shop he would ever want to hang out if he's in a mood for snacks, but he's still prefer the ice cream he had earlier to be his very favorite.

Two ponies have come to the counter to find Pinkie Pie along with a new pony.

"Hi Mr. and Mrs. Cake." Pinkie said.

"Why hello Pinkie, who's you're friend?" Mr. Cake asked.

"Oh he's a new pony in town that I found. I wanted to give him a tour so I thought I should take him here first to try some of our best batch of food we make here."

Mrs. Cake waves hello to Roxas as he did the same, giving a good smile.

"So what is you're name dear?" Mrs. Cake asked. Before Roxas introduce himself, Pinkie cuts in to do it for him.

"His name is Roxas. I prefer to call him Roxy like I call my friend Dashie because his name sounds cool."

"Oh I see dear, but how did you two meet?" Mrs. Cake question curiously which Roxas felt a bit embarrass to explain. Mrs. Cake kind of knew that he felt nervous when it comes to Pinkie meeting new ponies like him, she intends to....make them feel unease. On the good side, she sees Roxas to be okay with Pinkie Pie and changes her mind.

"Its alright Roxas. Some new ponies have gone through that, but at least you're a good pony who doesn't run away from Pinkie here." The pink pony chuckle about that being mention when she did happen to do that because of her excitement.

"Well she is uh....fun pony to talk with and I thank her for taking me on a tour so I don't mind." Roxas reply, giving an assure face. Mrs. Cake was glad to hear it.

Pinkie grabs one sample of a cupcake from the counter and gives it to Roxas.

"Here Roxy, try one!" So, Roxas tries holding the cupcake steady and takes a bite on top first. The taste of its sweetness was incredible. Though he never wanted to eat something that was too sweet for his taste bud, he seems to be okay with the cupcake. Chewing down the cupcake, Pinkie sees Roxas enjoying it and decide to give him another one, but Roxas refuse once he finishes.

"Oh no no, I'm sorry Pinkie. One sweet bite from you're amazing cupcake was enough. Besides, I don't have um....munny to pay off."

Mr. Cake comes in, hearing the word munny has made his brow raise, "Munny? Do you mean bits Roxas?"

Roxas quickly nodded for making a mistake. Though he never knew what bits look like, Pinkie somehow went off grabbing something inside her mane and pull off a golden coin. Guess that's what bits look like.

"Don't worry Roxy, I can pay one if you want some more later." Pinkie said, but Roxas had to refuse her kind.

"No its fine really. I appreciate it but I already ate earlier on my way to Ponyville."

Pinkie frown by his comment, but immediately compose herself of being happy. "Alrighty then, how about we head over to one of my friends' place. Oh, I bet Rarity would love your outfit Roxy. She's a fashion designer that is always so perfect when it comes with passion."

For some reason, Roxas felt a chill run down his spine, but doesn't know why. He ignores the trouble and decide to go along. "Let's check it out then."

Two of them wave their goodbyes to Mr. and Mrs. Cake. They head off to a next area as Pinkie leads him the way to the next building; Carousel Boutique. They reach their destination, standing in front of the door as Pinkie knocks on the door and yells out her name.

"Rarity! Its Pinkie Pie; I got a new pony I want to show you."

A pony inside calls back to Pinkie, "Hold on darling, I' am almost done with this. Just a little more of here and there and....perfect."

Once she took care of her business, she went to the front door and opens halfway, only to see Pinkie Pie without noticing Roxas was block from the door.

"Why hello there Pinkie." Rarity said. "What brings you here in such a fine day?"

"Hi Rarity! I want to show you this new pony I found in Ponyville. I'm giving him a tour and thought I should drop by you're place to introduce you to him." Pinkie said.

"Ah yes, you mention it a few seconds ago. So...." Rarity couldn't seem to find the new pony. "Where is he?"

Pinkie giggles and opens the door all the way to reveal Roxas in front of her now.

"Rarity, this is Roxas. Roxas, this is Rarity."

Pinkie introduce both of them while Roxas catches Rarity's appearance. Her coat is white as a marshmallow follow by her purplish mane to be curl nicely along with her tail. One thing he totally forgot, was that the pony has horn on her head which turns out she's a unicorn. For a pony who is into fashion, her beauty and looks would seem pretty obvious that she's into fashion, but doesn't realize how serious this fashion pony gets until he notice her eyes.

Rarity has not said a word since Pinkie open the door. Her jaw was left hanging by shock, gazing not at Roxas's look, but mostly his cloak he was wearing. Another awkwardness comes in between the two while Pinkie seems to know where this was going. Finally, Rarity close her jaw up and examines very close. Looking at the cloak, feeling its soft texture, the design it was made of, and its color.

Roxas felt uncomfortable while the mare circles around him. He stands still for Rarity to inspect until she finally spoke, "Sir, this cloak....this design....where in Equestria did you get this?"

A pony with a serious fashion; who would've thought she would be intrigue by his cloak to be fashion. The cloaks purpose is to protect the one who wears it from darkness when they use the corridor of darkness to travel through sorts of worlds. But not for this mare who is really passion into fashion. His thought comes to a stop, forgetting that Rarity has asked a question, he tries to make an excuse.

"Well um....its not something special about this outfit."

Rarity gasp by his comment as if she was offended to hear it, "Dear Roxas; this outfit is such a marvelous design I have ever lay eyes on. Of course, it may need a bit of color change and texture so please let me redesign it for you."

That came out of nowhere for Roxas, never to expect her to actually make change of his clothes. He doesn't realize that ponies around him don't actually wear clothes at all and yet he feels uncomfortable if he were to take it off. Quickly he backs away from her so she may not dare to strip him.

"Whoa wait! I' am not going to get strip out of this outfit!" Roxas nearly shouted by accident which cause the mare to realize her action.

"Oh dear I'm terribly sorry Roxas." Rarity apologize. " As you already know, I'm a fashion designer and I have always lay eyes of design and appearance. So far, yours prove to be....unique"

"Well that explains why you seem to gaze on my outfit for a while." Roxas said, though he knew it was obvious.

"But its alright Miss; I appreciate the offer but I rather not have my uh....boss get mad at me for the design change." Roxas continued with an excuse and laugh a bit.

"I can understand what you mean Roxas. But please call me Rarity; I feel old when ponies refer to me by 'Miss'.

Things have settle down for Roxas now, feeling that he does not have to worry about her favor. He walks up to Rarity as if he thought it was safe to say she would stop being picky of his outfit, but then again Rarity took a look at the design once again.

Pinkie comes up to Roxas, giving an assure look with a smile that Roxas always sees all the time. He could never smile that much compare to the pink pony. Its like everything she does make her feel happy. Very strange, but not as strange as he is since he's a bit of a unique Nobody compare to the rest of the group back in the base.

"Well, now that you know Rarity, let's head off to my next friend, Twilight." Pinkie said while Rarity thought about it.

"Hmm, since my project design is complete I think I might have a spare time to come along with you two Pinkie."

With that, Pinkie bounces around once again, getting all hyped up over taking a tour for Roxas as he shows a confuse look, but for Rarity she reminded him.

"Don't worry about Pinkie Pie. Pinkie is just....random in all so she's just being Pinkie."

Roxas watch Pinkie bounce off to the next direction,

"Yeah no kidding...." He chuckle a bit and the two ponies now follow Pinkie leading to there next destination.

Chapter 3

Tour Around Ponyville

Twilight’s journey to Canterlot came to an end when the carriage made a stop in front of Celestia's castle. After giving a quick thank you and nod to the Pegasus guards, she headed into the castle with permission from the pony guards. Upon entering the Castle, Twilight was quickly met with Princess Celestia who had just finished her crisis meeting.

While walking down the hallway, Twilight explained what happened last night to Celestia; mentioning the "Heartless" as they were referred to, the dark creatures that had appeared, alongside the mysterious pony who had managed to save her and Fluttershy. Celestia was surprised at the news about what her student had to go through, but at the same time was happy. Whoever this mysterious pony was, she felt like she should meet him someday.

After her faithful student had discussed every detail, Celestia thought carefully about where the situation could lead.

"Hmm, What you have told me is very interesting, Twilight. I have never heard of these… ‘Heartless’ as you called them before. Even in 1000 years, I have yet to encounter them." Celestia said.

"That is why with your permission, I would like to use your library to see if there are any information or even mythical tales about them." Twilight said as Celestia nodded and they both stopped near a two sided door.

"You may use it however you wish, Twilight Sparkle." Celestia said, opening the door with her magic to reveal mass amounts of shelves overflowing with books of knowledge.

Twilight thanked her mentor and with a proud look said, "I'll see to it that I will use whatever resource I can find, Princess."

"Take your time, Twilight." Celestia said with a smile. "I will come by again later, for the time being I must check on Luna and see if she is alright."

Hearing the news shocked Twilight, "Oh dear! Is Princess Luna okay?"

"She is fine, Twilight." Celestia reassured Twilight, chuckling at the obvious worry the pony had for the princess. "She is merely recovering from doing some research."

"What kind of research, Princess Celestia?" Twilight asked.

"Honestly Twilight, I haven't got a clue about that. I'll have to ask her about it when I meet her. I shall take my leave now." Celestia said with a farewell and walked away. When Twilight returned her gaze back to the room filled with books, she could not help but smile. She couldn't resist feeling happy about being able to use the library. Walking towards the shelves, she started her search for the books that would give her the answers she wants.

Roxas and Rarity continued their walk while Pinkie Pie hopped, in the lead as always, to their next destination. They knew they had arrived when they came across what appeared to be a giant tree house. It was a strange design and made quite large for a pony to live in which was cause Roxas to wonder curiously about the inhabitant.

"This house is quite big compared to the other buildings so far." Roxas said.

"That's because Twilight, our dear friend, owns a library. She always loved books and reading." Rarity said admiration for her friend.

It caught Roxas by surprise for a pony to own such a big library, but it may prove to be very useful later on. After all, he was still on his mission checking out some of the books would be beneficial. Getting to know his way around Ponyville would have to be first priority before he did any researching.

They arrived at Twilight's house and Pinkie rushed forward calling for her friend without bothering to knock on the door. As the door opened, they saw that it was Spike who answered Pinkie’s call.

"You know this is a library, Pinkie." Spike sighed in annoyance. "You could have just walked in whenever you like."

His eyes suddenly land upon Rarity, who was behind Pinkie Pie; Roxas watcher with amusement as Spike’s eyes rolled up and showed hearts of affection to the pony he was in love with.

"Why, hello Spike. How are you today?" Rarity said.

"I'm doing um....just fine, Rarity." Spike stuttered shyly. "I've just finished stacking and re-shelving all the books that Twilight left in a mess.”

"What was she doing last night, Spiky?" Pinkie asked.

"Well, I was asleep last night, but when I woke up and came downstairs, I found Twilight with all the books around her. Boy, let me tell ya, she always leaves a mess when she gets serious with whatever she's researching about."

“Our dear Twilight stayed up all night reading?" Rarity asked in shock. "Right after what happen to her and Fluttershy from that incident last night in Everfree forest?"

When Roxas, who had been keeping his distance from the three while they were engrossed with their conversation, heard Rarity's outbreak, he remembered that he was part of that incident.

He muttered himself, "Wait… this Twilight they’re talking about. Is she one of the two girls I saved from that forest? I better not get caught up in this; I'm not too interesting in being discovered."

While Roxas was pondering, Pinkie managed to get right beside him, which promptly caused him to jump. The pink pony giggled and asked, "Roxy, why the frown face? Are you feeling uncomfortable?"

Somehow, Pinkie could sense Roxas' troubles and felt that he was getting lost in melancholy, so she did her best to get him out of his mood.

"Nothing is wrong, Pinkie." Roxas said forcing a smile. "I'm just trying to get used to Ponyville. It just makes me miss home really."

"Well don't you worry, Roxy. Leave it to sweet oh Pinkie Pie!" Pinkie said proudly. Spike finally noticed the new pony, who was behind Pinkie Pie.

"Oh who's the new pony in town?"

Rarity walked over to Roxas and nudged him, "Spike, this young dazzling Pegasus is Roxas. Roxas, this is my little Spiky-Wikey. He is Twilight's number one assistant; he’s responsible for helping her around the library."

Spike went close to Roxas and examined the strange cloak he had on. He also noticed how Rarity had so calmly come into contact with him and the gaze into his outfit. He suddenly felt jealously kick in and suspected that Roxas was trying and take away his one true love. However, he decided that if he was going to win Rarity’s heart, he should at least treat this stranger cool indifference at the very least.

"Roxas, pleasure to meet you." Spike said, showing a handshake gesture as Roxas extended his hoof to shake his.

"Likewise," Roxas reply. "It’s cool to finally meet a real dragon, like you."

Spike felt like he finally got the attention he deserved.

"Well of course I am and you better watch it because I can uh....breathe fire!" Spike boasted, attempting to show off his charm to Rarity while Pinkie giggled Spike's attempt. Roxas thought it seemed cool about it and wanted to see Spike’s fire but then Rarity cut him off.

"I applaud your bravery and determination, dear Spike. However, we only came to see if Twilight was home."

"Oh about that," Spike said plainly. "Twilight went off to Canterlot for the library so she can find more clues about whatever she was looking for. I'm not sure how long she'll be away, so I got nothing to do now."

Rarity felt disappointed to hear the news, but Roxas sighed in relief. If he were to meet Twilight, who was the same pony from the forest, then he would be in trouble. After all, he did learn about secrecy from Vexon, even though some would say he was too sneaky. Still, it was best to keep a low profile especially with these innocent ponies.

The pink pony was sadden by the news but frankly didn't mind, "Hey, how about we head over to Sweet Apple Acres instead? Applejack would love to meet you, Roxas!"

"Uh, sure, Pinkie." Roxas reply with a sheepish smile. "Lead the way."

"An excellent idea, Pinkie Pie." Rarity said and turned to Spike. "Would you like to join us, dear?"

Spike nodded happily, "Sure thing! I got my chores done anyway, so it’s best to stretch out in Celestia's sunny day."

Roxas was puzzled from the mention of the name Celestia but didn't ask about it or he would seem suspicious. Noticing that the other ponies along with the baby dragon were already went off to Sweet Apple Acres, he galloped after them.

Back in the Canterlot library, Twilight has stayed her welcome for quite a while. Yet, she continued to search every section in the library and every book that was even remotely relevant but she hasn’t found one piece of useful information about the Heartless. She scanned one last book in hope of finding even a little bit of information.

Immediately, she tossed the book away behind her in a fit of rage, surrounding herself with a pile of books, like before in her library. Obsession had gotten into Twilight, frustrating her because not even in Canterlot could she find any information about the Heartless.

"This is impossible!" Twilight cried with her mane messy. "How is it that not one book can give me the answers I'm looking for?"

As the upset pony sighed in defeat, she didn't realize another pony has entered the library.

"Dear Celestia, my library!" The pony cried in shock. Twilight noted that his voice sounded like an old pony, so she turned towards the source and saw the librarian, immediately blushing from the embarrassment.

"Oh, um, I'm very sorry sir." Twilight apologized with a sheepish smile. "I was doing research and-"

The old pony had to squint his eyes while adjusting his glasses to recognize the lavender pony.

"Oh, it’s only you, Twilight Sparkle." The old pony chuckled. "I never thought you would read nearly half of the books in hours."

Twilight blushed again for she couldn't help her obsession of reading, especially when it came to solving problems. She brushed her mane with magic to keep herself composed but her eyes show tiredness. The librarian noticed it and chuckle again, "Well you read a lot today, my dear. I think you should take a break."

"Oh, thank you sir, but wouldn't you want me to reorganize the books?” Twilight asked feeling guilty about the mess she made, but the librarian didn't seem to be bothered and shook his head.

"It is fine, Twilight. I rather re-shelve them back on my own. Besides, it’s not often for a pony to come to the library and make a mess of it, so I might as well enjoy my time getting things back in order. So please, Twilight you may leave and I'll let Princess know that you have left."

She wanted to refuse the proposal, but she then noticed the sun had gone overhead, signifying noon, that she almost forget about Spike. She thanked the librarian and walked down the hallway to the exit. As for the librarian, he looks at all the pile books that were somewhat stack around. He sighed, but said, "Well better get started...."

Finally arriving at Sweet Apple Acres, the group headed to a farmhouse along on the road. Roxas looked around to find a lot of trees in the field, but filled to the brim with apples on them. As they continued to walk, they come across a red stallion who was larger than any other pony Roxas has ever seen. The red stallion caught sight of the group and smiled as Rarity was first to say hello.

"Hello dear, Macintosh. Is Applejack here?"

"Eeyup." Macintosh said simply and pointed his hoof to where Applejack was found bucking down some trees already. Rarity thanked him for the help, while Pinkie grabbed Roxas by his tail and dragged him away to meet Applejack. The orange pony noticed Pinkie along with a new pony she never seen before, getting dragged by the crazy pink friend of hers.

"Hey there Sugarcube, who's the new pony here?"

"Hey, Applejack!" Pinkie said once she spit away Roxas' tail. "This here is Roxas, but I prefer to call him Roxy because it sounds cool!" Before she got off chattering on about Roxas, Rarity stopped her.

"Yes Pinkie, we heard you mention that already, dear." Rarity said; managing to join in with the group along with Spike. Roxas composed himself after his drag and smiled to Applejack. He took note of her appearance, which consisted of her orange coat, a pale light grayish olive mane, and a brown cowboy hat with eyes that were moderate sap green.

"Well like Pinkie said, I'm Roxas." As he extended his hoof for a shake from Applejack, he wasn't expecting a strong shake coming from her. He was easily shaken as Applejack smiled back while shaking his hoof like a rag doll. She stopped and let go while Roxas rubbed his hoof.

"It’s a pleasure making your acquaintance, Roxas. I'm Applejack and this here is Sweet Apple Acres!" The orange pony gave one strong kick behind her to hit a tree, causing at least few apples to fall. She caught one of them and gave it over to Roxas.

"I bet you never tried one of these before because no pony could ever harvest better apples in Equestria." Applejack said with pride for her apples. Roxas showed trouble of holding the apple, which caused the others to be puzzled, making him nervous. Without a second thought, he chomped down on the entire apple. Luckily his mouth was big enough to eat it, since a human could not have eaten it whole.

He tasted the great juice as they swelled in his mouth along its sweet fruit. It was the best apple he had tasted so far, showing obvious enjoyment as he swallows the apple.

Applejack chuckle, “I’m glad to see a smile from a new pony who likes my apples; how about a second apple?" Roxas wished he could have another but felt guilty getting free food.

"It’s alright, Applejack. One apple is good enough." Roxas said kindly and Applejack understood, throwing the apple back into a bucket beside her.

"So ya, what brings you all up here with Roxas?" Applejack asked as Pinkie answered quick bursts of hyper chatter.

"Oh oh, well I decided to give a tour to Roxas to show him around Ponyville when I saw him in town. He’s a new pony so I said hi to him; asked him about his cool outfit, told him my name and then I gave him a tour around Sugarcube Corner. After that we headed off to Rarity's place and Rarity was so into fashion that when she saw his outfit and she wanted to make changes with it, but Roxy didn't want to because of his boss would hate him, so we went to Twilight's place but found out she was away so we introduced Spike to Roxy and finally headed over to Sweet Apple Acres to see you Applejack."

Once Pinkie finish, nearly the whole group were puzzled as they could not catch up to what Pinkie had said; except for the last part and the tour, but Applejack figured it out anyways and chuckled.

"Well, I take it that Pinkie was being Pinkie as usual; so you must be taking the new pony on a tour?"

"That is correct, Applejack. We certainly hope to make him feel comfortable around Ponyville." Rarity answered.

"Now that Roxy got to meet Applejack, let's go and find Rainbow Dash!" Pinkie bounced once again around Roxas until her tail begin to twitch and shake like a rattle. Immediately, she knew something was coming and took cover in the bush while the others hid elsewhere except for Roxas.

"Um, why are you guys hiding?"

Spike yelled out to him, "Its Pinkie's Senses! She can predict bad things that happen soon. Better take cover because her senses show something will fall from the sky."

Roxas looked around of his surrounds and above but only find Applejack, Rarity, and Spike hiding behind trees while Pinkie Pie still take cover in the bush.

"I don't see anything happening...." Roxas said before he heard some pony scream at him.

"LOOK OUT!!!!"

He looked behind to see a cyan Pegasus flying towards him with such speed, he couldn't react in time to avoid. The cyan Pegasus crashed into Roxas but instead of causing a crater of an impact, there were only trails of dirt left behind from Rainbow's impact. The two had come to a stop once they hit tree where Rarity jumped out of in shock.

Applejack along with Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Spike quickly checked on the two Pegasus. The first one to appear groaned under the pile of dirt and popped out of it, letting them see it was Roxas.

"You okay, Roxas?" Applejack asked. He groaned a bit and felt his chest hurt from the impact but nodded.

"Yeah I'm okay, but who was that?" He turned to find the cyan Pegasus dragging herself out of the dirt, revealing her rainbow mane along with her eye colors that appeared to be brilliant rose. She looked at Roxas and then looked back to the group surrounding them as she gave a sheepish smile.

"Eh, sorry about that." She said as Applejack rolled her eyes.

"Rainbow Dash, how many times have I told you not to do crazy air tricks?" Applejack mentioned as a reminder. "I suggest you apologize to this new pony, Roxas."

She looked back at Roxas who stare back at her until she pushed herself out of the dirt pile and gave Roxas a hoof.

"Sorry for crashing into ya, dude, I didn't mean to do something so reckless." Once she pulled him out of the pile, his outfit had dirt stains around him causing Rarity to be upset because of the scene but also wanting to take the opportunity to clean it.

"Oh dear, Roxas let me clean that up for you." Rarity insisted, but Roxas shook his head.

"It’s alright, Rarity. Just a couple of dirt stains isn't a big deal." Roxas could tell Rarity was sad and disappointed from the looks in her eyes as she begged again. Roxas knew where this was going and couldn't handle the guilt like before with Pinkie.

"Oh....alright, Rarity but I do want to check around a bit more before I hand you....my outfit." Roxas sighed of the embarrassment. As for Rarity, she was excited until Rainbow Dash cut in and looked at Roxas.

"So your name is Roxas huh." Dash said, flying around to inspect the Pegasus. "Well then, the names Rainbow Dash as you can tell how awesome I am."

Applejack and Rarity rolled their eyes for Dash's usual need for attention, but Roxas didn't mind.

"Nice to meet you, Rainbow Dash." Roxas said. "What were you doing before you crash into me?"

"Oh, I was practicing my air tricks for the Wonderbolts. Have you seen how amazing they are?"

Roxas only shook his head for a no but wasn't expected to get a serious face when Rainbow Dash nearly gasped in shock and same time in outrage.

"You never heard the Wonderbolts?! They are like the best stunt flyers of Equestria! How can a Pegasus like you not know about them?"

Her words have hit Roxas pretty rough since he realized that by not knowing who they were in all, he was showing how different he was, but he couldn't find an excuse. He could only be silent while Dash put her serious face against his. All he did was shrug while Dash groaned, "Come on, every pony should know about them and you’re a Pegasus for crying out loud."

Applejack places his hoof on Dash's shoulder, "Well you can't expect every pony to know about those Wonderbolts, Dash. Besides, he's new and probably came from another town or something."

"AJ, the Wonderbolts are big hits around Equestria, like literally." Rainbow Dash said and then looked back at Roxas. "What place did you come from? Hoofington, Fillydelphia, Trottingham, Las Pegasus, Baltimare?"

The list of city names or town has gotten Roxas lost a bit, but the real problem was what he should say. He couldn't tell them he's from another world or anything involve with travel in dimensions. If only Axel was here, he wouldn't have to worry, but right now he was in a situation. They seemed to have caught the attention from the group including Pinkie Pie who was so curious to know, she was actually gets closer to him to hear his answer.

Before Roxas could even think of an excuse, a sudden shriek of cry echoed in a fair distance, All their attentions averted to behind them as they recognized the voice.

"That scream.....was that-" Spike thought as Dash became alarmed.

"It’s Fluttershy!"

The group gasped as Rainbow Dash didn’t wait around. With her wings spread wide and strong, she blasted off in a second; leaving behind only her rainbow trails. Applejack and the others galloped at full speed to follow Dash, leaving Roxas behind, who was clueless on what was going on. They galloped as quickly as possible when a red stallion appeared to run beside them.

"Big Mac?! What are you doing here?" Applejack asked in surprise.

He showed a determined look in his eyes and only replied one word, "Fluttershy." Then, with a burst of speed he ran off ahead of them so quickly that nearly no pony could catch up.

"Come on fellas! We gotta keep up or who knows what will happen to Fluttershy." Applejack yelled.

"But what about Roxas? We left him behind." Spike said, holding onto Pinkie's back.

"We'll get him later, but right now she needs our help." Applejack argued while the others seem to agree with her.

As they ran off, Roxas was now left alone as he could only watch them run off in distance until they were out of his sight. He finally sighed in relief that the question was avoided. However, something bad is happening and he couldn’t afford to wait around doing nothing.

"Why am I sitting around? I got to follow them!" Roxas said to himself and finally galloped off in the same direction they went.

The cyan Pegasus continued to soar in the sky while keeping an eye out to find Fluttershy. She finally spotted her in the field near the Everfree Forest’s entrance. She also saw strange creatures surrounding the poor Pegasus, covering herself to prepare for the worst. Dash's heart beat faster and without thinking she charged head on like a missile.

"Get away from Fluttershy you monsters!" Rainbow Dash yelled, getting the dark creatures’ attention. She tackled through them like bowling pins, causing all of them to scatter apart. She flew back and landed beside Fluttershy.

"Shy, are you alright?"

The shy Pegasus was glad to see her best friend but her fear made her stand still, showing how frightened she was, while tears streamed from her eyes. Then they suddenly went wide.

"Rainbow, behind you!" Fluttershy cried.

Dash looked behind to see the small creatures getting ready to jump on her, but got bucked away by her back kick. The creatures she tackled earlier had also gotten back up and were now surrounding the two of them. Rainbow Dash stood her ground protecting Fluttershy, but she was starting to feel nervous.

"Rainbow, Fluttershy!"

The two look toward the sound it came from, finding Big Mac charging toward the crowd of creatures. It didn't take long for Applejack and the rest to make it in time to see what was going on, finally catching up to the creatures.

"What in Celestia's name are those things?" Rarity asked.

"No time for questions girl! Let's get in there and help Fluttershy and the rest." Applejack replied and was first to charge in, immediately joined by Pinkie, Rarity and Spike, who only went for Fluttershy to make sure she was okay.

Big Mac kicked away one monster after another, sending them flying in different directions. Applejack used her rope and lassoed one of them. She spun it around and threw it toward the other creatures, causing them to smash into each other. Rainbow Dash was swooping down one target using her forehooves as her best offense in attacking them one after another.

The fight was prove to be difficult for the ponies. The creatures they were facing hadn't given up even after numerous hits, kicks, toss, and blows; they just kept on coming for them. Pinkie, Spike, and Rarity were huddle together along with Fluttershy to shield her from danger. Their strength was almost gone for the three brave ponies, they were losing their breath, and were getting tired. Even though Big Mac was a tough stallion, he had never faced any creatures that would take a ton of kicks and still fight back.

The dark creatures made their move immediately when one of them manage to appear behind Mac from the ground and scratched Big Mac's back; causing him to cry in pain.

"MAC!" Dash and Applejack cried, both mares distracted in distress. They were left open for the dark creatures to gain upper advantage. They tackled the mares and pinned them to the ground in numbers. They struggled to get up but the weight of creatures forced them to be stuck to the ground as if they were glued completely. Mac staggered and tried not to lose his concentration, but more of them came after him. Another scratch had gotten him forced down as the rest of the bystanders watched in horror.

Once the three ponies were taken care of, they diverted their attention to the bystanders. Rainbow Dash and Applejack continued to struggle while Mac tried his best to stand up, but collapsed from the pain on his wounds, they seemed heavy on him as if their attacks were poisoned.

The three ponies and the baby dragon still huddled together in preparation for the worst.

"Is this the end of us?" Rarity cried with tears forming in her eyes. "Could this be the end of our lives?”

"Don't worry, Rarity. Twilight will come for us....I hope." Spike said to comfort his lover but his last word has left him unsure about the situation. Pinkie Pie however, suddenly began to shake like a rattle along with her ear that started to flop, her fore hooves shook, and her tail twitched.

"Hey, my Pinkie Senses are kicking in." Pinkie said, continued to the motion of her body.

"Wait, what does that mean Pinkie?" Spike asked until Pinkie pointed to the hill that they came from earlier.

"LOOK!"

The others including Dash and Applejack follow Pinkie's direction and spotted the new pony, Roxas. He finally made it in time to find the ponies in trouble with the creatures he recognized as Shadows.

"Hang on guys, I got this!" Roxas yelled, but Rainbow Dash warned him.

"Are you crazy dude?! These things are impossible to fight."

"Don't be a hero, Roxas. Just get help!" Applejack cried, but Roxas shook his head.

"Don't worry, I don't intend to but I know what’s best!"

When it was time to take action, a light illuminated brightly in front of Roxas. The ponies watch in awe as the light faded away to take shape of a big key. It was a classic key with a long silver Keychain extending from the hilt, and a strange icon shape token with two round ears on the end of the Keychain. The blade and teeth of the Keyblade were silver, while its rain-guard was blue, and the guard was bright gold.

Roxas grabbed onto his weapon with his mouth like last time and prepared himself. As for the Heartless, they immediately went after him instead of the other ponies. The other Heartless that had pinned down the two mares, quickly scattered off and charged after Roxas.

The battle started when Roxas rushed down the hill toward the Heartless Shadows charging towards him. He leaped over most of the Shadows and made a swift turn and swing together, killing three Shadows as they dispersed into thin air. Three shadows sunk themselves to the ground and started to scatter around Roxas. The Pegasus knew what to expect and hopped back in time just as the Shadows popped out to attack.

"Better use a magic spell to take these Heartless out." He thought in his mind.

With careful concentration, he imagined his magic to working on his keyblade when suddenly the tip showed sparks of electricity. He lifted his weapon up to the air when sparks came out, sending thunder down on his enemies. The numbers of Heartless were decimated but there were ten or so of them left to handle.

So, Roxas took off again but this time, charged in thoughtlessly. A few Shadows jumped away to avoid getting hit, but some acted on instinct and attack. One by one, Roxas somehow managed to handle it.; Slashing away on his right side. Now there were only four left, however they begin to act strangely. The four started to move away from Roxas when he took his fight position.

A dark portal opened behind the four Shadows, the shadows immediately jump inside as if they were retreating. For Roxas however, he felt something worse was coming for the dark portal was left open for some reason. He couldn't risk the other ponies getting involved in whatever was about to happen.

"Guys, get out of here quick!" Roxas warn after he stuck is weapon to the ground, but only receive more stares from all of them.

Applejack shook her head, "Wait a darn minute, what are you talking about?"

"I can't explain but please trust me on this. Get your friends out of here!" Roxas yelled. Applejack and Rainbow Dash said nothing the whole time, getting their friends and Big Mac away from the field as Roxas got read to stand his ground.

The dark portal begin to grow in size when suddenly, a black arm broke out and slammed down on the ground with great force that shook the field. The group of ponies managed to get a look of the action but were terrified about what they were about to see.

A dark being began to emerge out of the portal, taking form of a huge monster. It was a black, muscular, humanoid Heartless. Its legs were short and its feet were very thin and curled upward. Its arms were long, and it had two relatively small, twisted wings on its back. It had a large, heart-shaped hole in the Heartless's abdominal area, which penetrated straight through from the front to the back. Its head was covered in dozens of twisted, black tentacles. Only its small, glowing yellow eyes are visible.

Roxas never expected the Heartless to appear in the world he was in, but prepared to face the threat coming his way.

Dark Side

Dark clouds begin to form above the Dark Side, close to shadowing over Ponyville. The scene was beginning to get intense with ponies staring in disbelief at the event.

"What in the name of Celestia is that...?" Applejack asked with her jaw still open while Rainbow Dash showed a mixture of horror and excitement.

"Beats me....but hey, you think that Roxas can handle that thing?" Dash wondered as Pinkie Pie's Senses was still active.

"I'm...not..su...sure....but...I hope...Rox-...Roxy...beats...up....that...bi-…big mean thing." Pinkie said with her shaky voice.

"I hope so. That thing is HUGE!" Spike cried still clinging onto Rarity.

The battle began with the Dark Side making his move with a simple smash with its fist to the ground. The impact caused a portal to open from below its hand, releasing Shadows to assist its master. Roxas didn't want to take that chance and quickly slashed away the Shadows. He then leaped onto the arm that was still on the ground, running for its best weak spot. He smacked the Heartless on the head with a hard blow, causing it to tumble back, also causing Roxas to lose his balance and fall.

As he still falls, he remembered that he had an advantage: his wings. As quickly as he could, he open his wings as wide as possible and did a somersault with a perfect landing. While he was regaining his position, the Dark Side had also managed to get back up; angry from the hit Roxas made. Its next move made Roxas panic; the Dark Side kneel down as he crossed both his arms and opened to reveal dark energy forming from its heart-shape hole.

It released its energy, blasting away particles of dark magic as they directed themselves to Roxas. He began to run, dodging one after another. The last dark ball comes for Roxas, but with perfect timing he swings his keyblade like a bat. The blade collided with the dark ball and bounced away from Roxas and landed a hit to the Dark Side’s face once again. It exploded with a loud impact, causing the Dark Side to fall forward for his face close to the ground. It was now or never, Roxas thought as he ran toward the monster; he began to feel his power glow. He leaped forward with his wings spread, not realizing that he was flying. With the lights glowing around him, he flew into the Dark Side like a dart at the speed of light.

Roxas shot through the Heartless, causing the Dark Side to disperse into dark dust and liquid with its heart flowing out and vanishing. The dark clouds vaporized and scattered away, allowing the sun to be able to show its beautiful light again. The Pegasus was gasping for his breath from the tough battle he went through, but it was over. He finally let himself loose and the keyblade vanished into the light as he sighed. He looked behind to see the group still watching after the battle they have seen, he wasn't sure how he was going to explain. The first one to react was Rainbow Dash, flying down quickly and heading toward Roxas as he expected her to tackle him for the outrageous situation, but instead get a clomp and a tight hug.

The rest of the gang including Mac who already saw the scene while he was at rest, came up to Roxas, smiling and cheering.

"Wow, dude I didn't think you could take out all those things by yourself. You must be some kind of superhero." Spike said, patting Roxas’ back while Pinkie squealed and hugged Roxas, who was starting to lose breath from the mare hugging him so tightly.

"Pinkie, Dash, our dear Roxas is suffocating." Rarity said. Both mares eased off for Roxas to allow him to catch his breath as Rainbow Dash went off telling every pony how awesome he was.

"Did you guys see him smack that thing down? Man it was like nothing to him. He's got crazy moves and tricks and those crazy magics that came out of that weird thing he was holding. That scene was so awesome." Dash said, squealing in the last word with both her hooves squish on her cheeks.

"I gotta hoof it to ya, Roxas. You nailed those crazy critters out of here with your fancy weird weapon or whatever it was." Applejack commented as Mac came still tended by Rarity.

"Eeyup." Mac said with a nod.

"We should totally throw double parties for Roxy for a welcoming party and saving Ponyville!" Pinkie said excitedly and continued to chatter on. "I'll get every pony and invite them to join in so they get to see Roxas as a hero!"

Roxas became shocked at the last sentence he heard, "What?! No Pinkie, don't throw a party or tell any um...ponies about me."

"Why not?" Pinkie asked with her eyes began to show the puppy face that Roxas knew he could not handle again.

"Well, you can throw a party if you want Pinkie, but I rather keep this a secret from others. As for the rest of you here need to keep this a secret as well."

"Why keep a secret from other ponies, dear." Rarity asked curiously. "I mean what you did was very heroic and amazing. You should be honored to be called a hero of Equestria."

"Well....the thing is I know what those creatures that attacked are and...." Before Roxas got to finish, he noticed a pink ha tail behind Big Mac as he felt a presence behind him. He shuffled away to find Fluttershy on the ground, not from being afraid, but more nervous then anything.

Her eyes looked away from Roxas and recognized the same cloak that the mysterious pony had from last night. She realized who it was and was so happy to finally get a chance to actually see his face. For Roxas realized she was the same pony he had saved from the forest. He never thought he would see her again, let alone attacked by Heartless again.

The two continued to gaze at each other for a awhile when Dash walked by to her best friend and nudged her, "You okay, Fluttershy?"

The shy Pegasus was taken by surprise by the small nudge and quickly stood up still looking at Roxas shyly, hiding her face with her beautiful mane. Roxas thought it was cute, so he chuckled, "Glad to see you made it out alright."

Hiding behind her mane, her face blushing from his kind words and while she wanted to reply back to thank him, she couldn’t for her mouth was zipped up tight from embarrassment. She only gave a little smile to show Roxas that she's thankful that he had saved her. Rarity came by to Fluttershy to comfort her.

"I'm sorry about our dear, Fluttershy. She's very shy to new ponies around, but I'm sure she'll thank you for rescuing us."

Roxas returned a smile, "Don't worry, Rarity, she already thanked me for that." With that said, Fluttershy let out a squeak causing the whole group to go ‘Aww’ for the moment until they heard a pony call out to them.

“Girls! Spike! Are you all okay?"

They all turned to see Twilight crossing the bridge and galloping towards them as she panted worriedly.

"Sorry I was gone for so long. I came back to find Spike missing and then all of you were missing until I saw a dark cloud and then-"

Her sentence stopped when she saw Roxas's cloak, noticing that it was familiar to her. Then the memories started to kick in as it show her last night in the forest, the attack from the Heartless, and the mysterious pony with the same outfit who was now in front of her. The pieces came together for Twilight gasped while the others looked at her weirdly.

"Uh Sugarcube, what's wrong?" Applejack asked.

"Uh I think egghead is having her thinking going on again." Rainbow Dash commented.

The lavender pony finally snapped, "You're the mysterious pony that save me and Fluttershy from last night!"

All ponies ‘eyes went wide besides Fluttershy and glanced back at Roxas who chuckled a bit and made a sheepish smile.

"Well....I guess I have a lot of explaining to do huh."

Author: I'm sorry for not posting a chapter out for a while. I had complicated times from day to day dealing with stuff that most authors tend to have problems with. Also, a friend of mine help me edit the chapter a bit and I was grateful but I still felt that this chapter may not seem right so I would probably get more comments about the grammars in such. Author's Note: Hello...readers. I don't have much to say other than apologize for this huge delay of this story. I sometimes lose focus and motivation when it comes to... certain habits. Yes I know, we all go through that and sometimes we make excuses (not everyone I mean) but I'm hoping to try to be more...active. I know some excuses are pretty common such as education, college, personal life, or etc, but I'm hoping to try to accomplish something as my personal goal for once. As somebody told me once, I should not waste my talent. So...in all hope I want to complete just one story and see how it goes. I don't mind if my grammars turn out to be bad to read, but I only wish that you all enjoy reading this story.

Chapter 4

Explanations?

Nothing usually happens back in the Organization base where members continue to do their usual routine, taking turns with the missions they attend, and personal business if nothing seems to come around. Of course, some events turn to be downside for few members like Axel. Because of his unpaid tabs passed down to Superior's second in command, he gets dragged into trouble by Saix, and who knows what he would do to his so called friend. The trouble maker was still being drag like a trash bag from Saix to make sure he doesn't flee as Axel could no longer fight it other than cross his arms and pout in defeat.

"Seriously, Saix," Axel said annoyed. "You take things way too seriously. I mean, do you have any proof that I was the one responsible for those ice cream bills?"

The 7th member known to be the Berserker, remained neutral but his tone was very strict when it came to unacceptable excuses. "I do not care what you say. Proof or not, I don't need to know who left the bills on my table. The only ones that ever eat those childish ice creams are you and number 13."

Well, Axel couldn't argue that part. It was obvious after all since he often ate sea-salt ice cream with his best pal. No other members would want to join with him anyway since he knew how each of them were not so friendly at times, especially number 12. Though he was okay with Demyx, he grew tired of him and his lovely guitar, playing the tones and singing made him want to forget about him. Only Roxas was acceptable to hang with anyway, but since his pal was forced to stay in the new world, he had nothing left to do.

The two members reached their destination, which turned out to be a door with a number IV symbol upon it. Saix immediately yanked Axel up to his feet as he knocked on the door and heard someone reply, "I'm very busy right now! Whoever it is, I'm not scheduled to do dishes."

Relentless, Saix knocked once more until heavy footsteps were heard before the door slid open with a loud slam as number 4 yelled, "WHAT DO YOU WANT?!"

His shout caused Axel to shudder back while Saix remained composed as number 4 quickly realized who it was, and calmed down for his misbehavior. "Terribly sorry, Saix. I did not expect you to show up at this time. I take it you want me to do a little experiment?"

"A little experiment yes," Saix reply. "But it does not involve hearts or the heartless issue, Vexen."

Vexen gestured for Saix to come in, who continued dragging Axel along, which irritated Vexen to have to see him again. "Now why doesn't this involve the Heartless?" Saix didn't answer his question, but only gave him the folder with reports from Roxas’ encounter in the new world. After a few moments of research, Vexen regained his composure, "What a strange world we have here. Colorful ponies that talk, peaceful environment but a dangerous forest, and when a member enters the world, he or she becomes a pony as well."

He walks up to his work table and places the reports on it as he takes his glasses off. "If I had a heart, I would doubtfully die of laughter. A myth of so called ponies to actually exist among other worlds we’ve encountered so far, and yet this new world has had no recent heartless activity until now. Not what I expected, but what do you need from me, Saix?"

"I need you to create a potion..." Saix answered, still held a tight grip on Axel who still had his arms crossed.

"A potion of what exactly?" Vexen asked. "I can create whatever potion it may be, but you’re not being specific about the subject."

Irritated enough, Saix answered, "A potion that can change one of our members back to human form while they are in that world. The reports from Roxas’ experiences have proven difficult for him to handle his new body, so I want that potion made as soon as possible."

The scientist became intrigued by the new project he was assigned to do, since his habit were to analyze, study, and his most favorite of all; experiment. Of course, he would need more resources and details about the ponies. He almost forgot, but he never knew why Axel was with Saix in the first place. He figured that he probably did something wrong to get himself in trouble, seeing how Axel was begging for him to set him free, even though Saix was simply ignoring the troublemaker.

"Very well, Saix, I will see what I can do. But what about Axel? Vexen wondered. "I get the feeling he did something wrong."

He looked back at Axel with a simple glare from his emotionless face.

"Despite all the unpaid bills left on my table, Axel will become your temporary lab partner."

Vexen was disgusted by such a young member who didn't respect much of his authority. Saix knew that he would not like the idea, but then again, he had a better way to punish him.

Saix continued with a good suggestion, "Since you do not wish to enter the new world, you may send Axel in to do it for you. From here on out, Axel will have to do your bidding, and he will find out whatever you need to know about these equines. Are you fine with this, Vexen?"

Vexen suddenly grinned at the thought of Axel being his lab partner. With him being forced to follow his orders, he just might be able to get the information he would need, when he eventually sends him down to the new world. As for Axel however, he felt that this was his worst punishment yet. Saix could see him beginning to regret leaving those bills on his table. When the scientist accepted the offer, he began to clear away a few files and tools left on his table as he prepared to start his new project.

"When do you want me to send Axel to this new world?" Vexen asked, but notice that Saix’s focus was on Axel now, who was cowering as the berserker continued to glare.

"Aw come on, Saix." Axel whined. "I know I made a mistake and all, but I can pay you back honest and-"

He didn't get a chance to finish before Saix grabbed his collar and opened the corridor to his left , "No excuse, no exception."

And with that said to be done, Saix tug him near the portal and kick his gut as Axel flies right into the corridor as it silently seals up. Vexen wasn't surprise of his action, after all he was known to have temper at some point but doesn't show serious aggression. Then again, they are nobodies and they have no feelings of hatred.

Roxas wished he hadn't take the mission in the first place. If only Saix had assigned him a different mission, but an order is an order. Roxas was taken into the library where Twilight lives because of his heroic effort, and the fact that the girls wanted to find out who the mysterious pony was that Twilight had described. He did his best to avoid further situation when Twilight asked him to come with her, but the girls around him asked him to come along anyway.

Sunset hit the horizon, and seeing it from the window that Roxas was by, it was close to night time and he had nowhere else to go. With Dash and Applejack somewhat acting as guards to ensure he didn't flee while Twilight gathered the few items needed: a scroll of blank paper, a quill, and an ink bottle. He sees Pinkie Pie is still hyped up from the Heartless attack, continuously hopping around the place. In fact, she was actually setting up the place with streamers, balloons, and more party favors than he had ever seen. The place was set up like a birthday party with a huge sign that said, 'Welcome to Ponyville' and the next line below said, 'Hero of Ponyville'.

The pink pony was certainly odd, and Roxas couldn’t help but wonder how she was able to do everything so quickly. From a quick nudge from Applejack, she answered his unvoiced question, "Best not ta think too hard about Pinkie, sugarcube. She's just being Pinkie is all."

The nobody gives Applejack a nod and glances back to something else so as to avoid the thought. He then sees Rarity near the center table of the room, but she appears to be whispering to a pony under the table. It was easy to recognize by the pink long hair color that it was Fluttershy. His guess was that she was probably still afraid of the Heartless earlier that attacked her before his heroic arrival. To her, however, it was something else that she couldn’t help herself.

"Fluttershy please come out from under the table." Rarity said, concern for her friend. "This gentle colt is not going to do anything bad, dear."

The shy mare couldn't help it. She was glad to be saved by the hero twice, but for some reason couldn't find the courage to thank him. Something about him made her feel...warm.

She whispers back to Rarity but much quieter than her friend, "I-I know...but...I can't seem to h- help it."

Before Rarity got the chance to ask why, Twilight interrupted. She had finished all the preparations. Her horn began to glow as the quill and paper glowed as well, but Roxas was the only one surprised to see it floating as if by magic. With everything settled, Twilight takes a firm look at Roxas as the other girls, as well as Spike could see that she was ready.

First, she began to examine his coat while her magic begin to do its job in writing out the details on the scroll. Roxas was too distracted by her magic until Twilight coughed to get him to focus.

"Okay first off, my name is Twilight Sparkle. I know you met all my friends but I never got the chance to meet you. So...what's your name?"

"My name is Roxas. Just a simple name is all I have but no last name." Roxas answered, which made Twilight even more curious about his name.

"Roxas huh? Never thought anypony would have a strange name like that. Though I must say, you really are a mysterious pony walking around with a black coat. Which brings us to the questions I wanted to ask you."

Figures, more questions to deal with, but Roxas had to pick his words carefully. It was never a good idea to let them know the real reason he was here. But some of the questions he might be able to answer. So, he nodded to Twilight in agreement as the lavender pony smiles and proceeds with her questions.

"So start off with you, Roxas. You were the same pony that saved me and Fluttershy from those shadow creatures you referred to as Heartless. You also wielded a strange weapon, which appeared to be some kind of key, against them. So my questions are: what do you know about them, what weapon is it you use, and...who exactly are you?"

He sighed heavily, to think that the girl had to throw the three most exposing questions to answer, especially the last one, at him from the start. He could see the girls staring at him, waiting for him to answer under the same pressure like the time when they were in the apple fields. There was no point in lying, but he might want to say something soon, since he didn't like to keep folks waiting.

"Well, the dark creatures you mention first. The reason they are called Heartless is because all Heartless are created when the darkness that resides in a person's heart consumes him or her. Meaning, these creatures can steal away anyone's heart in order to become whole. Being born from darkness, they are mindless and act on instinct.Ttheir only goal is to find hearts, and consume them to create more Heartless."

The sounds of gasps were heard around him, while he saw Twilight’s expressions range from shocked to disturbed, but she still wanted to know more about the creatures. "Do these Heartless monsters actually take hearts away from ponies as in force?"

"When you put it that way, then yes. But they don't take actual hearts if that's what you’re thinking." Roxas answered, as the lavender pony sighed a bit, still a bit disturb. "Anyway, what they actually take are spiritual hearts, if you can call them that. A heart that makes them who they are. Without it, you become Heartless."

Twilight took more notes down, scribbling on the scroll as if she was in a rush. The other mares were either shocked as well or confused by the whole Heartless explanation, but they seem to understand the point that they are much more of a threat than they originally thought. Though the girls beside Fluttershy asked a couple of questions about them, Twilight could see him feeling uneasy from all her friends’ questions.

"Girls, you will all get your chance to ask other questions, but right now I need to ask Roxas some serious questions that need to be taken care of." Twilight said, causing Dash to pout while Applejack silently agreed, along with Rarity. Pinkie however, was still excited to hear more from Roxas. "Now what about that key you used earlier? It doesn’t look like you have it with you and by the size of it, I doubt it’s in your coat."

He chuckled at the question and smiled a bit, as he performed the keyblade summoning ritual. He closed his eyes and lifted both his hooves forward. All the girls looked at him with a confused expression on their faces. It didn't take long before the key appeared like magic with a burst of light, revealing his weapon to them all. All he received were ‘ooh’s and ‘aah’s, while Twilight was mostly amazed by his action. She couldn't help but wish to see it up close. She quickly gestured to Roxas for permission to look at it, and he let her.

Her magic levitate the key toward her as she rotated it side to side, trying to see its design. One part she almost forgot about was that Roxas was a Pegasus, and there was no way he was able to use magic to summon his weapon. This made it seem even more impossible due to the fact that unicorns were the only ones able to use magic. The thought of it disturbed her, and she asked, "One thing I don't get is that you were able to make your weapon appear out of magic. But you’re a pegasus, Roxas. So...how is it possible?"

Roxas could only scratch his head as he answered, "That weapon you’re holding is um... really special. To be honest though, I don't exactly know how I got it, but it has a name. They call it a keyblade."

Still confused after his explanation, Rainbow Dash flew up close to examine it. It was a key with a handle, but calling it a keyblade seemed off to her. It sure didn't look like it could actually be a weapon. Then again, Roxas made some performance with it against the giant Heartless, so she just shrugged at the explanation, but Twilight still didn’t accept it.

"What's so special about this keyblade? I mean, what is the purpose of having this?"

It never crossed his mind of what its purpose was, but he knew that it was the only weapon that ever helped deal with Heartless. He explains, "You can think of this keyblade as a solution to dealing with Heartless, because it’s the only weapon that can actually vanquish them and release the heart they held inside."

"And what happens to the heart that gets released from the creature?" Twilight asked, but the question was rather tough to think about. Should the girls learn what would actually happen to hearts that were set free? It didn’t seem like it would be a good idea, but he couldn't afford to say such thing, or else the conversation would lead off to even more problem.

As if it wasn't enough, a loud thud was heard from outside of the front door.

"Ow!"

"What in tarnation was that?" Applejack cried. The rest of the girls knew where the sound came from, and Twilight was annoyed by the sudden interruption.

She groaned as she tucked the notes away. "I don't know who it is, but this is not a good time to interrupt an important discussion."

Twilight walks to the door with the rest of the girls and Roxas following them. She opened the door with her magic, but for some reason nopony was in front of her. She stuck her head out, looking from left to right with no sign of anypony until she heard a groan. Looking down in front of her was a very familiar figure; a black coated pony with a similar design as Roxas’ but the only difference was that his face was reddish with some crazy fire-like red mane with long spike sticking out. Also, below the eyes were strange arrow marks on both sides. There was a conscious pony in front of her, and the rest of her friends caught a glimpse of who it was, moving out of the house as they examined the stranger.

"Who is he, Twilight?" Rarity asked in concern. "This pony has the same clothing as....Roxas."

Without notice, the stranger flutters his eyes until he could see clearly. With a quick check of his surroundings, he noticed he was being stared at by...ponies? He immediately jumped to his feet with a look of panic on his face.

"Whoa, where am I? Who are you and...." He stops mid-sentence right as he pointed forward to see a hoof instead of his hand. He slowly lifted his other hoof up and without even realizing he had lost his balance, fell down on his bottom. Afterwards, he never said anything else even though Pinkie was waving her hoof in front of him while Rainbow Dash poked his cheek. He didn't respond to their actions.

It didn't take long for Roxas to come outside to see what was going on when he found out what had made the sound from earlier. It wasn't so hard to guess who it was, but Roxas was very surprised to see him. He noticed Twilight looking at him with a stern face, as if she was waiting for him to say something.

"Ugh...don't worry, Twilight. He's someone I know...." Roxas said it carefully in a friendly tone as he approach to his friend.

"Axel?"

His friendly blaze colored friend looked back up and recognized him. But words did not seem to come out of him still, which caused Roxas to get nervous about the situation. He walks close enough to Axel to check on him when his friends' hooves grab both of his shoulders. Both were bewildered and confused, but Axel's mouth was gaped open....

"I'M A FREAKING HORSE NOW!!!!!"
