A collection of Thirty minute Sparity Prompts I've done in an attempt to improve my typing.

Basically this is an attempt at improving my typing skills. I will leave it incomplete until I feel I no longer need to flex this part of my brain. Simple little Sparity prompts, The first is Let it Snow. As I want these to be quick it's likely there wont be more than a page of text for the first few ones since I'm not the world's greatest typist. Timeline will be when I feel like. If you have a prompt you'd like me to do leave it in the comments. All prompts must be Sparity related directly. Would prefer to keep this available for everyone.

Let it Snow

Rarity was finishing a final set of orders for her fabulous, “Wonderful Winter” fashion line. She had been working hard for several days in a row alone at her boutique. So much so that one purple dragon had seen enough of her absence. Having gone off to offer Rarity some aid even at the persistence that she was fine from Twilight.

When Spike arrived his knocks went unnoticed. He let himself into the boutique, and found Rarity in her inspiration room threading several lines from a disgruntled Opal. There were eight separate strands of thread magically going to separate ponyquins. Rather than disrupt Rarity's concentration Spike slowly picked the spools from the cat allowing one on each claw of his hands. Opal purred as a response glad to be free of her slightly single-minded owner. Rarity just continued to sew the patterns into place not even missing a beat.

“Well that finishes that, thank you for helping mommy, Opal.” Rarity had said this but turned to find Spike instead of her cat and said, “Spike, what are you doing here!?”

“Giving your cat a rest by the looks of it. Is there anything more I can help you with my lady? I'm sorry about the intrusion, but no one was answering the door. I didn't want to interrupt your creativity.” Spike smiled as he looked over at the beautiful mare before him who had her red glasses on and her mane was a bit disheveled. Even so she looked devastatingly beautiful to him.

“Well, alright Spike. I suppose I can forgive you, but I only have a few more things to sew on to to finish up.” Rarity said with her body offering up a weak smile for him.

“Alright well, Why I don't I make us some tea. Then I can hold your strings for you again.” Spike said with a gentle smile back at her trying to offer her a chance for some rest. Also the fire in the hearth of her inspiration room was slowly going down. He slowly headed down the stairs for her kitchen and got out the stool she had and started to fill and then warm the kettle.

“Well, I suppose a short tea break wouldn't be too bad. I can't send these out today anyway.”

Spike finished up the tea, brought two cups back into the inspiration room, set both cups on a clear table together, and lastly he brought two seat cushions over to the table. Spike noticed the weather outside had worsened since he had arrived it was almost like a blizzard out there now. The strong winds even blowing out the what was left of the fire in the hearth. Spike hopped down from his cushion, and moved over to the fire place adding a few logs, pieces of news paper, and a simple jet of his fire-breath at the pile. The fire slowly was brought back to life thanks to Spike's quick thinking, his eyes on the fire he said gently, “I think you should stop for the night Rarity. It's almost Hearth's Warming and you'll want to be ready to spend it with friends and family.”

Rarity who had been sipping her tea just as the hearth flickered out just watched as the young dragon just as quickly and quietly made her place more comfortable like he was meant to be there. “Thank you, Spike. I think I will. It looks like it's snowing pretty hard out there. Maybe you should spend the night.”

Spike could hardly believe his ear frills as she had just asked him to spend the night with her and said, “I would be very glad to stay, as long as I can help you finish up, Rarity.”

“I'd like that, Spike.” Rarity said. She moved over to Spike and put her hooves around him. After slowly turning him to face her, she gave him a gentle kiss on the lips. The fire crackled and the pair snuggled near the warm hearth.

Big Brother

View Online

Dear Shining Armor,

I know we don't talk too much anymore. I just wanted you to know, that I still consider you my big brother too. Seeing you again for the wedding was nice. I just wanted to talk to you on a bit of a personal level. We used to play together with Twilight. Gosh it seems so long ago. I suppose you're wondering why I'm writing this. You're so lucky to be able to have already found your special somepony, and well you're already the knight I've always wanted to be. Though I do know that I'm the dragon here. It's just I think I love somepony with my whole heart. I want to make her every day brighter. The mare I speak of is called Rarity. She's the most beautiful mare I've ever seen. Her gentle smile brings my day new light every time I see it. Her curly purple mane fills my dreams with more than just ice cream and gems. Her beautiful white shimmering coat, and her beautiful body just make me feel like a monster in comparison. I don't know what to do big brother. Our sister has told me it's just a crush, that I should just move on since she'll never see me as a stallion. I've had to go through several internal struggles already so since Twilight won't help could you? Is the fact she still has the simple gem I gave her is it enough to say she cares about me, or does she just like me as a friend. I need some kind of advice here brother. Please I know we aren't family by blood, but I really didn't have any other models for the stallion I'd like to be in my youth. Yet, you would play with me even though I was different because I was with Twilight. I just need some kind of direction to go in. I don't want to lose her to somepony else, and I don't want to have to make her choose between our friendship and being together. I just need help big brother. You don't have to reply, but if I don't get some kind of advice I might just wreck everything as I always seem to. So thanks for taking the time to read this big brother. I know that now you're helping to lead the crystal empire so if you're too busy I can understand.

Sincerely

Spike, the Dragon.

Spike proceeded to roll the parchment up and tied it with a seal of his own design. Engulfing it in emerald flame he sent it straight to the crystal empire to Shining and Cadance's bedroom. He sighed a bit slowly looking over the small collection of things he kept that Rarity had given him; one was a very special gem, another was a gem encrusted bow-tie, another was a small personal cape she had made for him even after nearly completely destroying the town, and his most cherished was a picture of just him and Rarity together. They had taken it at one of the summer sun celebrations since Twilight had came to Ponyville. He was about to turn his mind to sleep, yet just then he let out a large belch of green fire with the crystal empire seal on it.

Spike's Cold

View Online

Spike had been feeling out of it for the past few days everything from fever to sneezing. It was rare for a dragon to become ill, though not impossible. He had agonizing indigestion many times in the library bathroom. He would find him sniffing back just to let out a fire jet of a sneeze that exceeded his usual prowess with his fire-breath. He had eventually hold up in the library basement not wanting to see anyone until he was better.

Twilight always one for a proactive approach had gone to Zecora several times since it had begun since she seemed to know the most about dragons out of anypony. Twilight after all needed her number one assistant back to full health. The shouting matches the two had, endured just before only made her want to help him out of his current predicament more.

Almost every one of Twilight's friends had tried to get the young dragon out of the basement. Applejack and Rainbow Dash were met with the same resistance Twilight seemed to encounter. Pinkie Pie tried tempting him with a sapphire cup cake, and Fluttershy had even gone to ask the phoenixes to ask if Pee-Wee could come help. All efforts seemed for naught, when Rarity asked that the girls all leave before she try to pry him from the dark and dank basement.

Rarity brought a pillow from the library’s sitting room and moved to lean her back up again the wood door that separated her from her Spikey Wikie. She leaned her head back and said, “ You know, Spike, No matter what's wrong with you we just want to help.”

“R... R, Rarity. I think I'm not just sick.” he let out a big sniff and another sneeze this one echoing through the tree-library. “I... I think I'm changing.” letting out another cough he pressed his head up against the door and said. “I don't want to leave Ponyville.”

“Spike, why on earth would we make you leave Ponyville. You're one of our best friends. I know I certainly wouldn't be able to get half of my projects done with out your help any more. Also I know who those hearth warming gems come from every year.”said Rarity in the gentlest voice she could muster.

“Come down you'll see why.”Another cough to finish his statement and the door was unlocked and unbarred.

Rarity slowly stood up on all four hooves and then slowly opened the door with her magic and proceeded down the steps to the basement that contained Spike. The lights were low and she started to use her horn for light as she reached the basement she could see Spike in the shadows whimpering against a corner of the room.

Bringing her body closer to his Rarity could now see what had her friend so upset. For starters he wasn't a baby dragon anymore. His legs were now longer and stretched out along the ground before him. He now had a pair of wings that were wrapped around his upper-body hiding his arms from sight. His Head was low and off to one side he now had a wolf sized muzzle full of razor sharp teeth and the spikes on his head only seemed to add to his new height.

“I'm hideous Rarity, I haven't been hoarding, I've been a good friend to everypony. And now I'm just a monster.”Spike said this with a heavy heart.

Flim Flam Brothers Dating Service

View Online

Another day till Hearts and Hooves Day, and Spike couldn't help but feel like this was the time of year that he should really show Rarity how he felt. As he was returning from a simple chore of ordering more quills for Twilight, he accidentally bumped into a new signpost which had not impeded his path on the way to Quill's and Sofa's. He looked over the sign and it read,

“Find your one and only,
very special somepony.
At the Flim Flam Brothers
Automated Dating Parlor.”

'Yeah right, those two couldn't run a cider stand. What makes them think they can run a dating service the day before Heart's and Hooves Day.' Thought Spike. It was a moment later that Rarity came from the direction of the Ponyville Day Spa, and went into the red and white tent. Before Spike even realized he was doing it he followed her inside.

On the inside the tent seemed to have a large partition behind a front desk with a very strange looking sign above the desk. Rarity had already been paired or taken to a waiting area when Spike had come through and as he looked around the Two unicorns at the table said, “Step right up young lad, Love for even the young and old can be found here. Just put your hoof on the red button here.”

“ Alright, but how much is this?” Spike said cautiously as he stepped closer.

“Cost, No cost for a national hero.” said Flim with a slight grin.

“If you're satisfied you'll give us a good recommendation though won't you.”said an equally grinning Flam.

“Yeah fine.” said Spike as he put his claw onto the button the sign above him lit up with a small purple and green image on one side while the other side was spinning like a slot machine. The other side finally started to slow and as it neared the end one of the images he noticed was a white unicorn with purple mane. As the spinning wound down it looked like it might end up on Rarity when it slid one place further and showed white unicorn with a short curly purple and pink mane. With the results finalized the pair of unicorns at the table lifted Spike up with their magic sending him through the partition putting him at a table with his chosen date who ended up being Sweetie Belle.

As he looked around the room he could see several of the pairs of ponies some nervous, some trying to get the other to like them, some just deciding to at least enjoy the meal. Then Sweetie Belle spoke, “ Oh, hey Spike. I didn't know you'd be my perfect match. I guess I'm just luckier than my sister.”

Spike heard Sweetie's voice but didn't quite register her words as he had found the object of his desires sitting across from Thunderlane. He couldn't believe it, he had saved her that one time, but she had already been on several dates with him and was starting to get fed up with his arrogant attitude. “Yeah, hey, Sweetie Belle. I still think this whole thing is a sham.”

“Oh come on Spike, They're better now.”Sweetie said as she slowly started to have some of the sandwich which had been provided for both parties.

“Sweetie, Twilight used to tell me a story about a leopard being unable to change his spots. Basically I don't think they're doing this out of the kindness of their hearts.” Spike said this and could see sweetie on the verge of tears and then said, “I'm glad I get to spend a lunch with a friend. But my heart lies elsewhere right now Sweetie.”

Rarity had since stood up and kicked the flimsy table into Thunderlane's face. At which moment Spike stood up from Sweetie's table and moved over to her offering to take Rarity out of this place. Which she gladly accepted and as they moved towards the exit together. Spike said, “ Rarity, will you accompany me to Pinkie's Heart's and Hooves Day party tomorrow?”

“Of course Spike, Pick me up at four.” Rarity said this and rubbed his head gently slowly stroking over his back spikes.

The pair of them left the tent behind while not having found their love at first sight they knew they might have found it in the end.

Sweetie bell looked around like she had been forgotten and just as she was about to cry again a feathered wing came down on her shoulder, “You know any pony who doesn't want to be with you is just crazy Sweetie bell.” She turned her head and found Featherweight standing behind her and she just gave him a great big hug.

Underneath the Mistletoe

View Online

The warm hearth of the Golden Oaks Library warming the entire tree, as I walk past several ponies. My mentor and caretaker talking to Rainbow Dash over the details of the latest Daring Do novel. Applejack standing in the corner offering a wave as she takes a sip from her punch. Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie playing pin the tail on the pony with the blindfold on Fluttershy. This hearth's warming eve seems to be like a welcome release for everypony. Tomorrow they'll all be with their families spending their time together right now to renew their friendship.

Standing at the top of the stairs near a balcony window is the white mare of my dreams. Her perfectly placid snow-white coat shimmering even in the simple lighting. Her purple mane a cascade of rolling waterfalls off her face, and what a face even with the false eyelashes. She looks so beautiful but I'm not sure she'll ever really find me to be the male she wants. I can at least admire her beauty and try to be there for her like a good friend. I love her generosity, I love her beautiful form, and I'm not even worthy of such a delicate angel. 'Is she standing under the mistletoe?'

I step closer my heart throbbing in my lime chest as I come closer to her gentle form. Each step like a walk down a long corridor. She appears to get farther away with each step, yet she hasn't moved from her spot. I move with steady resolve my heart bolstered by wanting to be the right one for her. She takes another sip from the warm drink I had brewed for everypony's enjoyment. Her magical aura holding the cup I've only felt it on my body a few times. She's much gentler with it than Twilight is. Another step and soon I'm closing the distance, I can see her cutie mark as she's in just her natural beauty this evening.

Stepping again and I touch her side gently with a soft touch and say, “H, Hey Rarity. You look lovely this evening.”

She turns her head and acknowledges me with a nod then says in her angelic voice, “Good evening, Spikey. Why thank you. You even look like you've gotten all cleaned up for the occasion.”

I had my scales polished and sanded at the day spa it took weeks to save up for it especially after getting Rarity's gift. I had to look my best today and said, “Thank you, Rarity I wanted to look my best for you.”

She smiled back at me giving me the best present I could ask for. “Well I'm glad somepony likes to do their best for me.”

'Did she just call me a pony?' I looked back up at her coming to join her at the balcony and say gently, “Anypony should be willing to. You know, we're under the mistletoe together, Rarity, and there isn't any...”

Before I could finish my statement she pressed her lips to my scaly ones. I put my clawed hands out to hold her head gently and kissed back softly and tenderly feeling her paving the way to make the kiss deep and passionate. I held her tenderly and couldn't help but love everything about her and when our beautiful moment came to a stop. I looked up at her and breathlessly said, “I love you.”

“I love you. Always, Spikey Wikey.” She smiled and threw her hooves around me and started to move with me back towards the party.

It appeared though that we had quickly become the attention of the entire party even my care giver. We just smiled and blushed looking back and forth between each other and then I said, “Are you all just going to stare at us all night, or are we going to open our gifts before you're going to need to go back home?”

Everypony burst out laughing a bit, while Rarity and I began to move to a large fluffy pillow to share. I slowly moved to the tree to get her gift and brought it over to her and said, “ For you my lady, Rarity.”

She took the box into her magic and slowly started to undo the purple bow string and the small white box. Inside as she looked into it was a pair of earrings that matched her cutie mark with three blue diamonds held in the simple gold setting. She just held me closer all the rest of that night.

The Books On The Shelves

Twilight had turned the library over to Spike for the day. Informing him that it would be his responsibility to see that it was in a passable condition when she got back. She was off to an important meeting with all three princess's in Canterlot. He was to help out everypony who came into the library today, and that he would have the whole place to himself to make sure it was well taken care of.

Almost as soon as Twilight had left the young dragon in charge of the Golden Oaks Library Spike already had his first customer of the day. Who as it turned out wasn't a customer, but a member of the Ponyville Postal Service. The grey blue wall eyed mare came into the library quickly carrying a large stack of parcels putting them down on the floor gently, she looked around the library and said, “Hey, Spike. Is Twilight around she needs to sign for these new books she got for the library.”

“Hey, Derpy. No she's not around she left me in charge though can I sign for them?” Spike said walking up to the large stack of books to try to steady them a bit. He was surprised she had gotten it inside with out it falling over.

“Oh, that's nice of her. I guess it couldn't hurt things.”Derpy proceeded to pull the checklist from her saddlebag and hold it out for Spike.

Spike took a quill from the table in the library and signed as elegantly as he could. As he waved Derpy off he was a little surprised she had left without causing even a single incident, but when she opened the front door again she kicked the door back shut behind her. Giving the slightly wobbly stack of hardback books the additional push needed for it to fall over and come crashing down on the young drake.

Shaking his head he looked over the messy pile of books in the center of the library. Twilight would never stand for that when she got back, so he quickly started to pick them up and cataloging them as he went much like he had seen Twilight do several times before usually with his help. Doing it by himself brought any resentment he might have felt fall away from him. Putting the last book onto it's shelf about an hour had passed. Thus a new set of ponies had come into the library.

This trio was a lot less friendly it was lead by a certain Button Mash who was followed by Snips and Snails. The trio had been giving Spike a lot of trouble as of late since Button and Sweetie Belle had begun dating. Spike took a deep breath and gave them a bright smile saying through gritted teeth, “May I help you gentleponies”

“Yea, Spit. You can stop spending time around my girl.” Button said with a scowl over his face.

“Oh, come on, Button. I don't even see her that often.” Said spike trying to hold back his feelings of wanting to just punch him and bring this to an end.

“Yeah, well too much for my likes. Boys, mess up the library he's all on his own today,”said Button. A turn of his head the young colt was going back out of the library leaving Snips and Snails to do the dirty work. The pair quickly got to work dumping several things across the floor and starting to pull books off the shelves with magic.

“Oh, come on guy's that will take me hours to fix. Weren't we friends once.” Spike said as the other two just shook their heads and left the library.

Spike started to clean up the Library again but in the middle of his cleaning the door opened again and an angel's voice came from it. “Twi-light, Are you home I need some new fashion books.”

Rarity came into the Library looking around only to see Spike in the center of the mess and trying to clean it up. “Oh, hey, Rarity. Yeah you should be able to to get some on the third shelf above the fireplace.”

“Oh, but, Spikey, What happened?” She looked down at Spike who had a bit of bruises over his head while the whole place a tatters. He was just lucky they didn't knock down any of the bigger stands of books.

“Rarity, your sister's boyfriend happened. Him and his goon squad did this to the library and I don't know if I'll get it back to new before Twilight get's back.”Spike said looking down tears starting to form at the corners of his eyes.

“Don't worry, Spikey Wikey, I'll help you clean this up. I don't think he'll be bothering you again either.” She said with a bit of determination.

The pair worked in tandem and the library was restored to brand new status before Twilight was any the wiser. Rarity got her books and Spike thanked her profusely and before she left he said, “Ummm, Rarity, are you busy tomorrow?”

“Not at all Spike,” said the beautiful fashionista.

“Well would you like to have dinner with me tomorrow in Canterlot?” said spike with a bright smile and a simple look up at her.

“Canterlot, are you sure, Spike? I do have a big work load to get back to.” She blushed a little bit at the thought of going all the way there for a romantic date with the young drake.

“Yes, I can even make sure we're back on the last train.”Spike said as he continued to shift his feet anxiously.

“Well, Alright. I don't see the harm. And I'll have you to protect me won't I, Spikey.” she said with a bright smile and closed the door to the library behind her.

Spike just nodded letting out a big sigh of relief that she had said yes to the date. One other pony came through the door that day, and it was Twilight who was very pleased with the state the library was in when she got back.

Like Silk Pajamas On A Sunday Morning

View Online

It was a normal Saturday in Ponyville, but inside Carousel Boutique there was a unicorn mare who had found she had nothing planned for the very first time in a very long time. She stood in front of her bedroom mirror looking over her visage seeing the curly dark purple mane that hung over her face gently like a waterfall. Her tail matched her mane perfectly and her snow-white coat was perfectly offset by the mane and tail. Her cutie mark was a trio of blue gems, she had a talent for finding sometimes the best natural gemstones around with her magic.

Turning from the mirror she spoke aloud to her feline companion Opalescence, “Oh I don't know, Opal I really think I should get started designing my new Gala dress.”

The feline just looked over at her with a look that said, “R-really?” Moving around the room to the drawing board the feline flicked several of the top designs off each one landing at Rarity's feet.

“Oh, but all of those are just flights of fancy, dear.”Rarity said this with as much conviction as she could, but it was a truly weak premise.

Opalescence looked up at her owner shaking her head knocking down some of the images of Rarity with several different stallions none of which worked out. To the feline these were “flights of fancy.”

“Well, I can't expect every stallion to be a prince charming, can I darling?” Rarity said this with her eyes half lidded looking over at her cat who was very temperamental but still one of her best friends.

Opal only seamed to move around the room to a very special jewelry box which she dusted off with her tail, and patted gently as she looked back at her owner with that look of superiority, knowing, and almost saying, “What about this one?”

“What!? Spikey Wikey, he's a dear friend of course. Kind and gentle always willing to help out no matter what I ask of him. Quite kind that he even comes to see me after I've kicked those other brutes out the door.” She thought of Spike her eyes glazing over a bit like she was caught up thinking about him. She quickly came back to reality saying, “But, it's a terribly large necklace and it would really take a perfect gown to match it.”

Opal seemed to have the answer for this as well. The first of the designs she had knocked down to the floor she took into her teeth and passed it up to her owner. It was a simple heart chest and slow sweeping dress that was almost see through. The pony it was designed on was her own form and the curly mane and tail accented the curves of the outfit perfectly it seemed the only thing it was missing was a necklace to tie the whole outfit together.

“But, I just can't can I. It would be like saying I loved him for really real...”Rarity seemed to drift off again thinking about how much Spike had grown since they had met. How being around him was one of her favorite things, much like silk pajamas on a Sunday morning.

Opal wouldn't let her be in dreamland for long swatting her tail at Rarity's flank looking back up at her with a look of contempt. Her gentle mewl coming out like a simple, “Why not?”

Rarity couldn't help her self. She had been waiting for so long for somepony, and maybe now the time was right. She hadn't worn it in years because it couldn't go with just any design, but this one seemed to be just the one she was looking for. Much like the drake who had given it to her. He had never once asked for anything in return. They would always go gem hunting together, he could assist her like no pony she had ever hired to help her through a rush even other unicorns, he was always trying to be his best around her. She knew he wasn't a perfect gentleman, but for her he had always tried. Each and every time they had been together he did better, she didn't want to lead him on any longer.

So she wouldn't. She stepped out of Carousel Boutique and headed over to Golden Oaks Library. Twilight had been so busy finishing the renovations of the old castle, he would likely be there alone. As she came tot he door she knocked three times, before calling out, “Oh, Twi-light? I need to speak to Spikey is he in?

There was the sound of books rustling and a loud crash from the inside of the library. Spike had been in his own room fixing some of his personal belongings when Rarity had come knocking. When he came down moments later he opened the door. The mare of his dreams stepped right into the library pressing up against him to move past his larger form. She turned back around to face him and said, “Hello, Spike, I wanted to ask if you'd care to be my escort for the Gala this year?”

Spike looked back at Rarity and then back to then to front door. Trying to gain control of his thought process he looked back over at her. Only just managing to get out, “Yes...”

“Well I'll have to work on your tux a bit more then to match my ensemble. I really want it to be the best night ever, Spike. Do you think you can do that for me?” Rarity looked back up at him fluttering her fake eyelashes like she had done at so many stallions before, but she really only wanted him now.

“Stay with me all night, and I'll do my best, my lady.” Spike said with all the courage he could muster.

A Special Cider For Two (45 mins)

View Online

Spike had a long list to go through today. Several of his stops were to several different places around Ponyville. First he had to stop by Sweet Apple Acres, the market square, and lastly Carousel Boutique. It was quite an ambitious day he had planned, but it was nothing compared the evening he was going to give to the most beautiful and generous mare in Equestria.

Arriving at Sweet Apple Acres Spike managed to find Applejack in the orchards and working hard as usual. He was of the mindset that cider season was still a month out, but he had need of a few quarts of it. He had found an old recipe in Golden Oaks for a hot cider drink he wanted to try with Rarity. Applejack wasn't one to give out cider ahead of the season, yet she felt like she should help Spike out. So she told him to grab a bushel and that he'd get the amount she made from it. After bringing the bushel back to the barn; Spike helped Applejack with the remaining prep work, and they managed to get him four quarts from the bushel. He gave her a spherical sapphire the size of one of Big Mac's hooves for her trouble.

With that out the way Spike made his way past several of the ponies selling all sorts of flowers in the market square of Ponyville. He came by Rose's stand who was offering just the set he needed, paying her with a moderate sized topaz. He thanked her for the bouquet of white roses, and went about selecting the spices he would need for the rest of his plan. This all took him about till lunch time, for which he had reserved an amethyst gem. He slowly munched the gem as he checked things off the list in his mind, and then realized he still had to talk to Rarity. He hastily rushed back to Golden Oaks and put his groceries away, then quickly heading to Carousel Boutique.

Upon arriving his hand trembled a bit, and while he had gotten older it hadn't made it any easier to talk to the living dream that was Rarity. He knocked on the door to Carousel Boutique and waited for an answer. “Com-ing,” came a response from inside.

The door to the boutique opened with a blue magical aura, and in stepped the young drake who was met with the usual statement of, “ Welcome to Carousel Boutique. Where everything is chic, unique, and magnifique. Oh, Spikey Wikey, what are you doing here?”

“H, hi, Rarity. I, I wanted to ask if you're free tomorrow evening?” Spike said with a bright smile and his emerald eyes looking into her deep sapphire ones.

“Tomorrow, well I don't see why not. Twilight's in Canterlot again isn't she? Are, you asking me out on a date?” She said with her half lidded eyes. Which fluttered gently as she finished asking the question.

“Umm, Yes. I am, Rarity. I want to go on a date with you tomorrow night.” Spike let it out and it all seemed so easy to say, yet he couldn't help but feel taken away with those amazing sapphire spheres.

“Well, then I shall have to look my best. Will it be best to meet up at the Library then?” Rarity looked slowly over the young drake, always having admired how he had grown even now you'd never know he had been so small once.

“Yes, come by at five. I have a whole night planned.” Spike could hardly believe it, as he moved back out of the boutique he started to head home to get things ready for the next evening.

Night descended upon Ponyville, and was quite calm and quiet. The morning would come quicker than the young drake had anticipated, as he only seemed to have closed his eyes when the sun was shining into his room to wake him. He shook his head and got things ready while he tended to the dusting needs around the Library and helping a few ponies find the right books.

It was about noon, that his regular day was interrupted by the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Who had long since found their special talents. Now all they had to worry about was school work. Which is what brought them to the library today. “Howdy, Spike. We need a book for our report.”

Spike heard Apple Bloom's voice and came down from the upper parts of the library almost immediately prepared for damage control. “Did you girls have a selection of books to pick from or can I suggest something.”

“Teach, just said it had be over one thousand words,” Scootaloo said as she started to run her hooves along the backs of some of the books.

Spike rolled his eyes a bit, but said, “Well, Why don't you pick a Daring Do off the next shelf up, Scoots. Apple Bloom there is an excellent mystery story on the bottom shelf to your back left. Sweetie Belle, why don't you barrow the library’s second copy of the Clover the Clever memoirs. First book Scoots touched.”

All three split up and picked up the books they had been chosen, and then they all took some extra time looking around. Scootaloo managed to knock over one of the larger bookshelves causing all three to bolt shouting back. “Sorry, Spike!”

Spike grumbled a bit starting to pick up the destruction that the Crusaders still managed to wreak even being older. Picking up books and putting them all back, took most of the time till Rarity was about to arrive.

At five sharp Rarity arrived at Golden Oaks library wearing a black dress that hugged her form, and provided a wonderful contrast to her white fur. Around her neck was a golden pendant with a large heart-shaped fire-ruby in it. She had felt it was appropriate for their first date. She knocked gently and Spike almost fell down the stairs trying to get to it. When he opened the door to let her in he could hardly believe his eyes she looked even more amazing than normal if possible.

Rarity had moved into the library. She about to take a seat near the table, when Spike brought her a sitting pillow. The table was in the center of the main floor, on top of the table was a vase filled with the bouquet of white roses. Spike moved around her to get their dinner which was a simple salad, his salad was topped with a few emerald shavings. Rarity noticed the roses in the middle of the table as her favorite kind. The pair spend the evening talking as old friends tend to do, and before long the night was wearing on.

Spike had moved back to the kitchen to get the special brew he had promised her for a drink only moments before. He used his dragon breath to heat up the pan he held in his hand with apple cider, some maple syrup, and a small collection of spices including cinnamon. After heating the drink to the appropriate temperature; he poured the liquid into two mugs, and slowly brought them out to the table setting down, saying, “Be careful it's a bit warm.”

Rarity just smiled and slowly took a sip from the cup and while the warm liquid rushed over her lips she could tell it was apple cider yet it was warm and like a bright fire in winter it seemed to fill body and soul. “Oh, Spike this is wonderful. Where ever did you find something like this?”

“In a book actually. Though it tastes delicious I'm glad I could share it with you.” Spike smiled and returned to his own cup.

Rarity set her's down on the table and moved her self over to him putting a hoof against his chest she said, “I spent all my time looking for prince charming. When I already knew him.”

With that Rarity pressed her lips to Spikes, and the pair kissed very tenderly spending the rest of the night in each others hooves and claws.

Rarity's Secret Diary

View Online

Dear, New Diary

It's been a while since I've written anything in you. I know this has been because I've been letting my thoughts out in the new community diary I'm sharing with my friends. However I don't feel the entries I've made there really express my deepest thoughts, as I sometimes keep certain things back from my friends. For their own safety of course, after all Twilight doesn't like to hear how nasally she is. I know I should tell them everything, but it's hard for me to do that. Especially on matters of the heart. There are somethings that not even your best friends can help you do, and I have to find the courage to do this myself.

I'm sure you're already well aware of my friend “Spikey Wikey.” The kindest, gentlest, most dutiful, and generous dragon I've ever had the pleasure to know. What you don't know is that after, spending time with him in Manehatten is that something in my heart changed. I found that I had been treating his every single generous action with little to no recompense. Now while the young boy may be so dutiful because he dose secretly care for me. I've always been a little slow on the pick up with matters of this kind. I believe you recall my other entry about a certain prince who has no morals what so ever.

I only just realized that, I think I really truly deeply love him as much as I think he loves me. I now need to start showing more appreciation to his acts of kindness. Maybe I should make the first move as he seems a little bit nervous to get things started. After all a lady should know what is best for her stallion. Even if he is a dragon. Oh so many things I need to do if I truly intend to pursue this. Perhaps I should write the Princess a letter about it. I'm sure she'd respond though I think I'd have to use the regular mail as opposed to Spike's fire-breath. I wouldn't want him to end up reading what the princess wanted to tell me personally about all this.

What if she said we could never be together? What if she said that there was something wrong with it according to the treaties with the dragons? Could I really stand to know that I can't be with him even if I do everything possible? Everypony is relying on me a lot more as of late. Would I have to give up my dreams just to be with him? Would others condemn and ridicule our love? Would it end my fashion career? There are so many unknown things. I've gotten several new orders since winning fashion week in Manehatten. It seems that everypony truly did like the dresses, I made with the help of my wonderful friends. Spike even helped me by cutting the few gems that were in certain parts of the ensembles. There my mind goes again back to Spike. I really do love him, he's certainly been there with me through more than any other stallion has.

My heart pines to be with him but I don't think it's just the right time. When I look into his eyes, I just get swept away by those emerald green eyes. They're my one and only enjoyable touch of green in my life. I think I would be incredibly lucky if he really wants to be with me. I have to be sure though. I need to make sure it's more than just a crush. There is only so much I can do in that regard.

I enjoy our time together and he is such a dear to assist me when Twilight seems to be far from his reach. The two of them remind me of Sweetie Belle and I, which is why I can see myself with him. I would like to have that kind of closeness with him I do think he can be childish at times, but he's much more mature than even my own sister. He knows a lot about gem stones and is very good at cutting them with his teeth or even his claws. He can already lift much more than a pony should be able to at his size. I know Twilight doesn't like it when I ask him to be a dear and do something additional for me. I'd like to think that I'm trying to help him be his own drake. He needs to be able to do that, and Twilight can teach him all about books, dusting, and common everyday house work, as she has him doing near everything in that library. I think he needs to get out before he's trapped like she is. Maybe I can be that bridge. It's getting late my diary and everypony needs their beauty sleep. Until tomorrow Dear Diary, Love Rarity.

As Rarity closed her new dairy she used her magic to close it and put it into a secret pocket of a special fabric she had come up with. Sweetie Belle would be hard pressed to find her new diary. As Rarity turned to look out the window of Carousel Boutique there was a shooting star that streaked through the night in the direction of Golden Oaks Library.

A Wild Moondancer Appears (45 mins)

View Online

(Prologue)
[Not part of the 45 minutes.]

Dear Moondancer,

This is Spike. I know Twilight and I weren't able to make it to your party. I'm very sorry about that. I got you a gift, which Twilight caused me to ruin. I managed to find something equally wonderful and I hope it makes it through just fine. I might not get a chance to say this to you again for a while, but thank you for being the first pony besides Twilight that was willing to be my friend. Twilight has made a lot of new friends since our move, it's a bit unclear if they'll be friends with me as well.

Sincerely, Best wishes,

Spike the Dragon.

Attached to the note was a medium size teddy bear with emerald eyes rather than buttons and a purple ribbon around it's neck.

(Five years later)

Spike woke up early this morning. Stretching out his slightly longer limbs, tilting his head from side to side, yawning a little bit before climbing out of his bed. He moved out from his room into the main area of the library. Twilight was still asleep by the looks of things, so he took the opportunity to get into the bathroom early; Spike had wanted to clean off his scales with a nice warm bath. When he finished the bath, then he double checked himself in the mirror for any lingering particles of dirt or bubbles. He brushed his teeth and moved out into the library finding that Twilight was still asleep. He moved downstairs quietly and headed out the front door slowly making sure to lock it behind him, having left a prepared a note for Twilight on his bed.

Spike moved out into the fresh early morning air of spring then thought, 'Before anypony knows it'll be Hearts and Hooves Day.' He moved towards the market square, finding the shop he was looking for. He pulled out a large quantity of bits from his scale pockets. Rose, the proprietor, was selling several different bouquets which were set up offering a wonderful view of her selection. Spike knew the one he wanted: a spectacular bouquet of twelve white roses. Rose only had these once a week and before anypony else could, he made his purchase and left with a large grin on his face.

Spike was soon standing in front of the door of Carousel Boutique, noting that he found himself her frequently as of late. He raised his hand slowly, knocking hard against the door.

Rarity had gotten up early today as well; she would have to leave later that day a set of measurements from the spa twins who were looking to go to Fillydelphia on business. She was just starting her breakfast when she heard the knocking at her front door. She couldn't imagine who would want to see her this early. She used her magic to straighten out her mane and slowly approached the front door in he favorite robe. Opening it slowly, she smiled as she realized who it was and asked, “Spikey, what are you doing up so early?”

“Well, Rarity, I thought I would bring you this lovely bouquet, and ask if you'd like to go to dinner with me tonight at L'Astrotance.”Spike looked into her eyes gently and couldn't help but be taken away by the blue sapphires in her eyes.

Rarity had been just about to answer when from the side of both of them. Came a loud shout, “Spike! Oh, Spi~ike, it's been ages. I've missed you so much. Especially after that great gift you gave me.”The mare that had sounded the shout was galloping up to the pair of ponies who were now both blushing a bit. She had a long flowing red mane and tail with purple accents her amethyst eyes were accentuated by the eggshell color to her coat, her cutie mark was a silver moon with three stars under it, and her name was Moondancer.

“M... Moondancer? Gosh I haven't seen you for almost five years now. I thought Princess Celestia gave you a very good diplomatic position after graduation. Didn't sound like I'd see for a very long time,” Spike said this as though she was a dear friend, yet Rarity had never even heard of this mare.

“Excuse me, 'Moonprancer' was it? I was just about to accept the dinner invitation of my very dear friend, Spikey Wikiey here.”Rarity moved to put a hoof on Spikes shoulder before continuing in her calm cool collected tone, “ Maybe, you should just catch up another time.”

“It's 'MoonDancer' maybe you're loosing your hearing I hear that comes with age for an old mare like you. Spike, please don't tell me this is the girl you keep telling me about in your letters. I studied dragons more than anypony at school. It's why I was asked to be Princess Celestia's personal envoy to the Dragon Empire. You know even though you didn't show up at the party I was always glad I got your gift Spike.” Moondancer looked back at Spike with the bright eyes of shining shimmering youth, putting her own hoof against his other shoulder.

“Old mare, indeed. Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black. I don't know who you are but Spike is my friend just as much as he is yours. I'm not going to just sit back while you try to scoop him out of my arms and into yours.”Rarity said with a slight huff moving up to Spike and giving him a gentle kiss right on the lips.

Spike could only respond to Rarity's motions with a gentle touch to the side of her face.

“Get away from him!” Moondancer cried and charged at Rarity sending both ponies to the ground tumbling around and wrestling a bit.

Spike watched for a moment before shaking his head and letting out a roar that would wake everypony else in Ponyville, “ENOUGH LADIES!” He reached down and pulled the two apart and looked down at them disapprovingly.

“Rarity, If we're going to dinner tonight I don't want to see anything from this morning so please go inside and get cleaned up. It's not the right time I hoped for, but I love you.”Spike turned his head to face Moondancer once Rarity was inside. “Moondancer, you were my first friend beyond Twilight and I will always respect and cherish that fact. I'm honored that you've dedicated yourself to leaning and understanding dragons just for me. Right now I just don't know who that pony was who attacked my friend Rarity, but it wasn't my friend, Moondancer. We'll always be friends, Moondancer no matter where we are.” Spike moved and gave her a big warm hug as he felt the tears starting to roll down her cheeks and onto his shoulders.“Twilight should be up now, why don't you go visit with her I want to talk to Rarity more directly some. I do want to catch up with you though if you can stay till tomorrow I'd like to take you to dinner as well so we can spend time catching up.”

With that Spike let go of Moondancer and slowly moved into Carousel Boutique, “Rarity, where are you?”

“Up here, Spikey,” Rarity called out from her bedroom.

When Spike had finished climbing the stairs he entered her bedroom and looked out into the bedroom to find that Rarity had cleaned herself up and was wearing the fire ruby necklace she had made from his gift to her. He smiled a bit and came up to her from behind and put a hand out to touch her shoulder and said, “Rarity, Moondancer is a good friend of mine. She shouldn't have attacked you, and I hope you can forgive me. Rarity, please just tell me if you love me too.”''

Rarity brought her hooves around his neck and then nuzzled his cheeks gently bringing her muzzle up to his ear frills whispering, “Spike, my dear friend. How could I not love everything about you? No matter what you do, you're always my hero, my knight in shining armor.” She finished her statement with a kiss to his lips again.

Spike put his arms around her as he held her close to his body and he stroked her backside letting the kiss last.

Moondancer saw a silhouette, a pony and a dragon kissing, on the upper most window as she walked away from Carousel Boutique; which caused a simple tear fell from her cheek while continuing on to Golden Oaks Library. She had waited too long.

Feeling the Love Tonight.

Spike had left Rarity a note with her mail today. A special scroll leaving instructions for her to see him that evening at nine in Ponyville park. He was wearing a particular gem encrusted bow-tie when he arrived very early to wait around for her. He wanted to make sure the bridge over one of the reflective lakes was his for the evening. He just watched and waited very patiently. He had to talk to Rarity, and as the hours passed he could see the sunset start to shine off the beautiful pool of water before him. The moments ticking by with his heart beating in anticipation. Soon the moon was raising and he continued to look around and wait for the beautiful mare to arrive.

Spike waited there starting to wonder if she had even read the letter. Time continued to tick by and then the clock tower sounded it's bell nine times. He looked around hoping to see any sign of the pristine white pony who filled his heart with love. He was so busy checking one side, entirely he missed when Rarity moved up behind him. She tapped him on the shoulder with her hoof, smiling down at him brightly, “Spike, you needed to say something to me.”

Spike was taken by surprise from the sudden physical contact he turned around his purple scales flushing a bit as he looked up at her. “Erm... Um, yes, Rarity. I wanted to say something...”

Spike was about to continue when Rarity stopped him for a moment much like she had when they were falling. “Spike, Twilight came by my boutique today. She said something to me too.”

“I get the feeling I know what she said. She wants you to let me down easy. I just, don't want to not say it though. Please, Rarity, let me tell you how I feel.” Spike looked into her eyes so glad she had came.

Spike eyes, the bright green emeralds, Rarity found so fascinating at times. She looked down at him and brought her hooves around him in a hug and whispered, “Yes she did. I told her she has no right to tell me what to do, Spike. If you really feel this way though, we need to keep it between us for now. You need to be Twilight's assistant, and I need to follow my dreams. We can't hold each other back my, Spikey Wikey.”

Spike loved the shimmering sapphires Rarity called eyes and the look from them told him it was true. She held him tenderly, as he moved his claws to hold her back he moved himself back so he could look into her eyes again and then whispered, “I love you, Rarity.” He then moved his scaly lips up to hers and kissed her softly as the moon silhouetted them against the backdrop of the reflecting pool.

Rarity didn't back away and together they kissed under the moonlight. She held Spike in her hooves stroking his spines gently. Spike couldn't feel better as the pair were entwined in a tender moment. She was the one to break the kiss and she looked down at him she said, “I love you too, Spike.”

The pair walked off from the bridge together where Spike proceeded to walk Rarity home and gave her one last farewell kiss at the front door of Carousel Boutique. Spike continued on to start dancing his way home feeling lighter than air as he made his way down the roads of Ponyville. Nothing could weigh him down right now it felt like. He moved with deft and grace and was soon back inside the library. He quickly headed right up the stairs, he moved into the bathroom to brush his teeth so he could keep up with the proper hygiene his lady deserved, and then went straight to bed without even saying a word to Twilight.

Rarity after closing the door to Carousel Boutique sighed wistfully and pulled over her feinting couch to lay on. Spike was so much more than any stallion, and he was just the most perfect little gentledrake. She could never do anything to harm him. She had been quite upset with Twilight for telling her where her feelings on the matter lied. After all it's not her place to decide when two love each other. If anypony had that kind of power it was Princess Cadence. "Maybe I should write her a letter," thought Rarity.

Dear Princess Cadence,

I'm know your not usually someone who might get letters like this, but I feel as one of Twilight's friends I should tell you over anypony else. I wanted to inform you first that I feel I have come to fall in love with her dear assistant. The hero who you so bravely helped to save the Crystal Empire. Rarity is my name, I designed your wedding dress. I just felt that you would know much more about the feelings of the heart than Twilight. She tried to tell me, I was to just let him down easily, that it would ruin my career, that it wasn't the best for him or me, that he will live long past my time and leaving him with a broken heart. While what she may have said was factually true, I feel it would be a blemish on both of us if we didn't at least try. We're in each others hearts, and as I understand true love can conquer any obstacle. For right now things have to stay the way they are, but I want you to be clear with her if you could tell her I have no intention of leading him down a path where he ends up worse for out time together. I'm sure she'd appreciate your input on the matter more than mine at the moment. Thank you.

Sincerly,

Rarity

Rarity's Birthday (45 mins)

View Online

It was the middle of the week. Most of Ponyville didn't really have the time to notice this party even with Pinkie Pie throwing it. There were however four males who noticed that this party was coming to be. Rarity's birthday party was going to be the classiest party Pinkie had ever thrown. It was a very formal occasion and the fabulous designer had insisted on her friends wearing her latest creations for them. She had even made something new for Spike so he could be there. She did after all want all of her best friends there.

It was after the party began that several males came up to meet and greet the fashionista. The first was a Pegasus stallion who had a black coat and an almost electric blue mane. He was better known to most of Ponyville as Thunderlane. When he approached Rarity he gave her a simple heart-shaped card with the words “Hey babe, you must be a diamond because I found you in the rough.” Rarity's reaction to the card was dismissive. She had seen a hundred stallions try to get her this way and she sick of it. She quickly used her magic to crush the card and toss it into the nearest wastebasket.

Rarity continued on making her way to the punch bar with her brand new dress holding her form delicately and showing off her features in her most impressive fashion display to date so much so that describing it could hardly do it justice. She slowly used her magic to pick up the punch she wanted and started to slowly drink it.

While she waited there she was approached by another stallion, this one offered a sad looking red rose to her with a small note. The note read, “I'm sorry, give me another chance and I'll be your stud for always.” When Rarity finished the card she didn't even have to look she knew exactly who it was. She couldn't even believe Prince Blueblood got in here. She balled up the rose with her magic and tossed it into his mouth which was open with anticipation. She then shredded the note to leave him covered in confetti. Finishing him with spitting her drink back at him ruining his mane, causing him to shriek and run off.

Rarity decided she would try her luck at the dance-floor and moved out to the center of the dance-floor making what Twilight called dancing look completely ridiculous. As Rarity danced she was greeted by another stallion an this earth pony had an orange coat and dark brown mane and tail. She slowly let Caramel join her dance and the pair danced together quite well. Then he offered a gift, a hoof sized box of chocolates with the words, “I really think you're sweet,” on the front of the box. Rarity shook her head and then passed him back the box it was just another gift from a nameless admirer. They rarely made her happy any more she had gotten so many of them and she was just lest frustrated with his attempt as it had been less forward.

All night long Rarity had been waiting for a chance to open some gifts from her friends the Ponies who knew her best. When she stepped off the dance-floor, she was again interrupted this time however it was Spike. He smiled up at her and said, “Happy Birthday, Rarity. It's always a pleasure to see your beauty.”

She looked down at Spike and he was holding a bouquet of twelve white roses, her favorites, small box, and a card. He held up the card for her to read as he bowed before the mare of the day. She moved her eyes over the simple message and proceeded to put her arm around her dearest friend. She looked into his eyes and said. “Thank you, Spikey. For making this the best birthday ever.”

She gave Spike a kiss directly on the lips and then used her magic to put his gifts on the gift table with the rest from her friends and then took Spike out to the dance-floor. The pair danced in slow steady unison looking so right together. They really loved each other deep inside and it was really the first time Twilight saw that her assistant had really grown up. Spike and Rarity spent the rest of that night together. They laughed and played games and even spent the night together.

When they both woke up on her fainting couch the next morning the pair had been in each others arms the whole night. They both felt loved more than they ever had in a long time. Spike looked over at his sleeping beauty and slowly started to slip from her touch. He wanted to make a breakfast worthy of his new found special somepony. He slowly moved to head towards Carousel boutique's kitchen area and then started to get the things he needed ready.

The boutique was filling with the most delightful smells as spike worked on the quiche he was trying to make just for her. He slowly moved both plates down onto her kitchen table as Rarity was starting to Awaken. She smelled the quiche and soon made her way towards the scent her body raising wanting to find the scent. She slowly opened the door when Spike had finished putting the plates down on the table.

“For my lady, the best breakfast I can offer.” Spike said proudly and slowly moved to offer her a seat, then take a a seat in the chair opposite hers.

Rarity smiled as she looked over at him and slowly used her magic to cut a slice out of her quiche. She took a lady like bite out of the slice and then neighed a little bit in joy at the unique flavoring and texture of the quiche. She couldn't hardly believe just how amazing it tasted and then slowly said, “Oh Spikey, I think you're my number one assistant too.” She smiled and rubbed his spines on-top of his head and then moved over the table to kiss him again slowly.

The pair shared a tender kiss and then finished up their breakfast. Even with all the let downs she'd had recently Rarity was just so happy to be with someone she really cared about. She just couldn't imagine not being with Spike now. Spike somehow felt the same way her body and the motions it made with every step just made her all the more alluring. Now she was his and he had to his very best to protect her at all costs.

They slowly got together and headed out into the next day together as well since in all the hubbub of the other day everyone had almost forgotten it was now Heart's and Hooves day. On the fainting couch was the now open box which still contained spike's gift and it was a very fashionable gold bracelet with a set of blue diamonds set in the shape of her cutie mark on the primary part of the bracelet. The note on the simple card said, “Love is like a diamond, and it will only last forever with you by my side. Love, Spike.”

Two Hearts A Hoof and Claw Day

View Online

Everypony seemed to have somepony this hearts and hooves day, Rarity was no exception. She had left the boutique quite early in the day at her suitors request. They had spend the whole day together up until the point where he offered to go back to his place after dinner. It was their second date and she barely felt like she knew him well enough. He had brazenly suggested that they go have a “Hot Time” in his bed chambers. She wanted no part of that and stormed out of the restaurant. 'Why did every male have to have such impure thoughts n their mind after only a few dates? Where are the real gentlecolts?' Rarity thought. She was just in front of Carousel Boutique when she noticed a single white rose and a note taped to her front door.

She took both off the door with her magic and sniffed gently at the flower enjoying the gentle scent it gave off. Looking over the note it read.

Dearest Rarity,

It's Spike, I had hoped to find you today and see if you'd like to have dinner together. I guess I woke up to late and you had already left with somepony. I don't really want to be a bother, so I hope you had a good day today regardless. I just wanted you to know that If you ever find you need anything I'm always glad to offer my services as an assistant to you even over Twilight. I still feel responsible for what happened on my birthday so long ago. I worry if it's what's kept us at hoofs length from each other. I always seem to lack the courage to say it to you directly, but I want to just at least write it once. I love you Rarity. I hope you had a wonderful Hearts and Hooves day.

Sincerely

Spike

When Rarity finished reading the short semi-concise letter she just smiled warmly and took the rose in and put it in some water. She then moved up to her bedroom and took out a very special necklace case she had brought with her no matter the risk. She clicked it open with her magic and slowly took the fire ruby necklace and put it over her neck. She closed the box and then darted from her bedroom and Headed off towards Golden Oaks library.

It only too her a few moments to get there. When she did she was a little exhausted but she shook it off like it was a winter coat. She knocked three times on the front door of the Library. To hear a shout from inside “Spike! Get the door please.”

Rarity rolled her eyes at this statement and waited for the young dragon to open the door. Spike had come to the door relatively quickly. Finding that Rarity was on the other side of the door he said, “Um, hey Rarity. How was your day, and what brings you here?”

“I think you should know what brought me here, Spikey. I'm here for our dinner date of course. I know I'm a bit late, I just hope you can forgive me.” Rarity looked down at him with a bright smile and brought him into a big warm hug. She had never been so happy to be near him.

Spike could barely think let alone get out a response at first. He couldn't believe Rarity was here wearing his gift to her and holding him in her arms. After the initial shock of the whole scene wore off he called out to Twilight, “It's Rarity, Twilight we're going out. Make sure you don't burn down the Library.” He chuckled a bit and closed the door behind him as he moved with Rarity out into the evening air. Turning his head to focus on rarity again he said in a much lower tone, “I think you'll enjoy this date Rarity I have everything set up. Though it might be spoiled I'm not sure if the restaurant will still have my reservation.”

The pair darted from the front door of the library and when Spike told her where they would be dining she was almost as shocked as he had been. The fanciest restaurant in Ponyville and they had a reservation it usually took months to get a table there. They arrived just before the host was going to cross it off the list. The dinner sparked a long succession of dates between the two and made them grow closer with each one.

Lady in Red (45 mins)

The Grand Galloping Gala, Equestria's premiere dance and social obligation, for anypony who wanted to be anypony. Ever since the first one Twilight Sparkle attended it has become more of a loose occasion rather than a completely uptight affair. Tonight was no exception for the embodiments of the Elements of Harmony would all be attending this year. All of them were to arrive with their own date which lead to separate travel arrangements. The night was still young when the first five pairs arrived just in time following this order: Twilight Sparkle and Flash Sentry, Fluttershy and Big Macintosh, Applejack and Post Haste, Rainbow Dash and Soarin, and Pinkie Pie with Cheese Sandwich. The last pair were fashionably late on Rarity's account. Since she was always one to make sure to be on the cutting edge of fashion.

When the last carriage pulled up it was only five minutes behind. The same pair of males were pulling the front of their cart from Ponyville that had almost five years when Rarity first went. The First one out of the carriage was Spike having arrived to the ball with the lady of his dreams. Spike stepped out first so that he might help Rarity down from the carriage in her brand new dress. He had worked up the courage to ask Rarity this year and she had accepted which caused his heart to soar. Spike had smiled as he looked over her beautiful new dress. It was a bright ruby red ensemble that had impressive flowing ruffles in a heart-shaped dress, a similarly shaped chest line, and every step she took radiated red from the rubies she used for the accents. Just above her chest line was a golden chain with a marvelous and flawless fire-ruby at the center of the necklace. Rarity's dark purple curls were in perfect curves accented only by a single white rose just above her ears.

“May I say again just how beautiful you look this evening, Rarity?”Spike smiled as he held her hoof softly with his claws happily helping her down to the ground.

“Spi~ike, no need but thank you again for offering to take me this year.” Rarity looked over at him and gave him a gentle kiss on his cheek.

“Of course my lady. Shall we away I'm certain you'd like to be dancing after we meet up with the others.” Spike smiled and just continued with her into the main part of the castle where the rest of their group should be.

When they got the main hall the Princess's were busy greeting guests as always though there was quite a more significant queue for Luna this year. Spike and Rarity soon found themselves in front of their friends and their current significant others. They all looked so happy and soon they were all headed to the VIP section. Once they arrived there they seemed to split off into their own little groups Twilight and Flash appeared to be getting some of the gala snacks some of which were provided by Sweet Apple Acres this year. Big Mac and Fluttershy went to see if Philomena was alright as she and Fluttershy hardly got to see each other. Rainbow Dash and Soarin were relaxing a cloud above the garden quite happy enjoying themselves. Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sanwhich were in a discussion at the punch table trying to determine who could say more with punch in their mouth and Applejack was just enjoying a walk through the gardens with the athletic postal stallion Post Haste.

Spike and Rarity had soon found their way to the dance-floor, where Octavia and her orchestral band working the crowd from the stage. They were playing a favorite song of the pair and soon pony and dragon were dancing together in the middle of the dance-floor moving in perfect unison. They were always s meant to be together, and everypony could see it from the way they were dancing. Together dancing looked easy simple fluid motions. They could feel the music and they danced to the beat better than Twilight could ever hope to. They finished the current song in a dramatic pose and there was a round of hoof stomping for both of them and for the band.

“You, you, you Tramp. How could you even possibly love a … a Dragon!? He's likely only got a meal on his mind when he looks at all of us. * hic * I'd be better than him for you.” The hard cider had clearly affected Prince Blueblood. He had clearly seen their exhibition on the dance-floor and only wanted to cause trouble.

“May I handle this my dear?”Spike said as he looked to Rarity with loving eyes.

“Sure, Spike. He can't bully anyone any more.”She looked back at her friendly dragon with love in her own eyes.

“Prince, You hardly look befitting of such a title. You hardly talk like one to be. I may snarky and sarcastic from time to time, but you don't deserve everything on a silver platter. Rarity has found someone she loves after a long search. So If you want to degrade me I'm fine with that. But she is not a tramp! Nor any other form of vulgarity your mind can come up with. I would ask that you leave us alone you're ruining a good time for everypony.” Spike said very eloquently.

Most the ponies where gathered around the dance-floor could feel the tension as the prince stood their flabbergasted, much like if the dragon had shove a lance straight through his heart. In a fit of rage Blueblood charged at Spike full bore. His horn aimed for the heart of the dragon. Spike had only moments to act as the whole room watched astonished. He turned his back to the charging unicorn and braced his legs like he would if he was going to knock down some apples. Soon there was the sound of something breaking. Prince Blueblood had shattered his horn against the nigh impenetrable scales of the dragon's backside. Soon the the EMP's were taking Blueblood to Canterlot Central Hospital.

Princess Celestia and her guard came to investigate soon after and asked for eye witness accounts. Only a few of the ponies around didn't speak up as to what happened. Rarity was the first to come to Spike and moved her hooves around his body. “Oh Spike you were so brave. I was very worried he might hurt you.”

“Thank you, Rarity. You're ok though aren't you?” Spike said looking back at Rarity with concern.

“Spike, I'm just fine, But why did you just stand still.” Rarity said with tears forming in her eyes.

“If I didn't he'd have ran into you and I didn't want that to happen again.” Spike said holding her back gently and turning his muzzle to kiss hers. With everypony mostly aware of what happened the party got back into full swing though one small piece of the horn was now lodged in between two of Spike's scales.

Spike's Dream

View Online

Sleep was something that came easily to the purple dragon assistant of Twilight Sparkle this evening, and he was known as Spike to all his friends. He had helped save the Crystal Empire from destruction and always did his best to be Twilight's number one assistant. There was one pony in Ponyville he liked to spend his time with more than her though. It was the incredibly prefect fashionista Rarity.

Even in his dreams he could see the soft white of her coat, the deep purples of her mane and tail, and the light blue of her cutie mark. He had created an ice cream house for them in dreamland once, with several layers of all his and her favorite flavors. Tonight however was not a dream of Ice cream houses and visions of her beauty. Tonight was filled with trouble and angst. He had never quite had a dream like this before it was rough and tumble and was a terrible feeling ot be having.

The Dream-scape was filled with several storm-clouds. Images of Twilight trying to tell him that Rarity just didn't like him the way he wanted her to. He couldn't escape the feeling of being lost and alone it seemed like he had run from Ponyville and was now in the Everfree forest. Suddenly he grew to massive proportions and was filled with all the greed and rage he could have experienced from losing her forever. Somewhere deep inside the lumbering huge dragon like beast was a small young Spike in a fetal position.

His Imagination was running away from him and as he tried to go to a happy place there was a sudden brush of a hoof against his cheek. Looking up he saw Princess's Luna and was soon filled with relief. “P... Princess Luna, w, what are you doing here?”

“You may not be a subject of mine, Spike. But Tia has asked me to try to guard you from nightmares. To which I insist all I can do is help you find your way. But you have will have to face your fears to change to the Dream-scape it's your dream after all.” She looked down at him and moved with him along what was becoming a hallway and continued. “You will do many great things for Ponyville and Equestria Spike the Dragon. But you have to believe in yourself. My time is up please try to over come what fills you with such fear.”

Before Spike could respond to the sage advice he woke in the middle of the Library at night. His scaly body in a cold sweat that left him shivering even in his own blanket. He slowly climbed out of his basket and could only see Twilight asleep gently sawing logs. He shook his head and moved his claws up to her and moved her over and tucked her in some more. 'Rarity.' Spike suddenly thought looking out a window of the library. He slowly left the library and continued to walk down the streets of Ponyville until he reached Carousel Boutique. He took a stone from the ground and tossed it against her window only letting it carefully dink off her window. Soon there was a light in the window and the mare of his dreams opening the window.

“Ugh... Sp, Spike? What are you doing here at this hour?” Rarity said in the most together voice she could muster as she looked down at him with her eyes mask up.

“Rarity, I know it's not the best time, but I can't let this go on any longer. I love you Rarity, and I want to try being your special somepony if you'll give a chance. I'll do anything just for a chance, Rarity. I just can't help but see you in all your beauty.”

She looked down at him with a bright smile and listened intently as she said. “Spike, thank you for saying that. I'll let you be my special somepony on two conditions. The first is you go straight home and get some rest. The second is that you come over tomorrow to plan out when we're available for a date.”

“Yes, and Yes my lady, my love, Rarity. Good night my lady. I promise you'll enjoy it.”He smiled and started to skip down the path heading back to the library.

Rarity had closed her window and smiled as she slowly went back to bed. Finally she could tell Thunderlane off. One hug after saving her life once and he thinks he owned her. She would be glad to get him off her back.

Spike was soon back at the Library and felt alive. He couldn't help but feel just wonderful and as he came back into the Library he closed the door quietly behind him and looked up at Owlowiscious and said, “ Well I'm going to get a Date with Rarity. Not even you or Twilight can stop me now.”

“Who?” was all the owl could respond with.

“Me, Spike, Is getting a date with Rarity.” before waiting the next “who” to come out of the owl's mouth he moved back up the stairs and climbed into bed his mind settled his dreams now filled with an Ice cream house for him and Rarity and their children.

You Got It. (45 mins)

Spike had grown considerably since turning eighteen. He was now taller than most ponies and had strength in his arms that would out class even Big Macintosh pound per pound. He had teeth that were sharp enough to cut diamonds and his claws which could easily rend pony flesh didn't help his monstrous appearance. Lately around Ponyville there had been less talk of acceptance of the dragon, and more talk of he should return to his own kind. Twilight Sparkle was usually the one to silence these neighsayers, though any of her friends would defend Spike since they knew he was still the harmless kid they remembered.

Spike however was starting to think, 'Maybe Ponyville would be better off without me. With all the dragon prejudice lately.' Today he was looking especially down, and that's when Pinkie Pie came up to him exclaiming, “Hey, Spike! Did you want an invitation to Rarity's birthday party? If not maybe I can make you a sapphire cupcake to pick you up?”

“Thanks, Pinkie, I'd like both. Though I think that makes me a little greedy. Pinkie, do you remember that thing I asked you not to tell Rarity?” Spike looked down at his claws his tail absentmindedly drawing images of Rarity in the dirt.

“Of course, Spike, your crush on her. Right?” Pinkie whispered as she looked back into his eyes expectantly.

“Can I get a favor from you then, Pinkie.” Spike whispered what the favor was into her ear so that no one else could hear.

“Alright, Spike, See you this weekend then.” With that she bounded away to very musical pony's door.

~~~~~~~~~~Later At Rarity's Birthday Party.~~~~~~~~~~
At the party that weekend almost everypony in town had shown up. Pinkie had invited everyone Rarity had said to invite. There were a majority of stallions there but there were also quite a few mares. Spike arrived and was let in after showing his invitation and Twilight twice to the bouncer. He looked around at the room of stallions and mares. It was quite a full house in Carousel Boutique. He had made his way past several of the ponies there. He was looking for the beautiful white mare of his dreams and her likely to be worn elegant dress.
Spike was wearing white button down shirt and bright red bow with several gems still adorning it. He was also wearing a black jacket. 'Rarity always said she liked a snappy dresser. I don't understand what she every saw in Thunderlane,' Spike thought. Rarity was standing over near the punch table all alone. She always had seemed to have the worst trouble with stallions at her birthday.
Just then there was tap on Spikes shoulder from Pinkie and he headed towards the stage. The music started slow as the record spun. Spike began tapping his feet at the beat on center stage. Everypony turned their eyes to the center stage, as Spike started to sing to the record he turned his eyes directly to Rarity and away from any other mare. “Everytime I look into your loving sapphire eyes I see a love that bits just can't buy...
Spike sang out the words in a dulcet tone that would bring almost any mare to her knees. He continued to watch her eyes and continued singing from his heart. “One look from you I drift away. I pray that you are here to stay...
Spike started the chorus with Rarity watching intently. She took a few steps towards the stage the music almost hypnotic. She could feel something coming from Spike. It was something she had felt from him before, but now it felt so much stronger. Rarity couldn’t deny that this was the way things should maybe be as she heard him singing with all his heart.
Spike continued to sing out, “Everytime I hold you I begin to understand. Everything about you tells me I'm your Dragon. I live my life to be with you. No one can do the things you do.
Spike continued on with another chorus and his eyes looked full of love. Never once leaving her body. Her beautiful dress really accentuated her dark mane and tail, those lovely sapphire orbs with gentle hint of eyeshadow, from hoof to head she was perfect as always. He slowly took the mic from the stand heading towards her. He only reached out one hand to hold her hoof while the mic was in the other and the pair slowly circled.
Spike finished the song with, “Anything at all you got it, Baaaby.” The music died down and he looked into her eyes and said, “Rarity, would you do me the honor of being my special somepony?”
The whole crowd looked shocked and appalled a bit other than five other mares who knew this had been a long time coming. Spike stood there kneeling before Rarity as he waited to hear her response. His whole body quivering to see what would become of his time in Ponyville. Would she say no and cause him to pack up and leave, or would She fill his heart with the emotion he had enjoyed since that first day he came to Ponyville?
Rarity approached Spike slowly and put her hoof on his shoulder a little water in her eyes as she spoke, “Spike, I would be very lucky to have you as my special somedragon. You always go out of your way for me, and honestly I haven't always returned that to the best of my ability. So yes, as long as you'll always be my Spikey wikie.”
Spike nodded and put his arms around her pulling her into a hug. He looked down at her as she also put her hooves around his neck. Spike then moved her muzzle to his kissing her very deeply and passionately.
