Waterlogged, survival, and confrontations

View Online

I wake with a start, gasping for air while trying to expel water from my lungs. I sit up slowly in soaked cloths that are partially torn to shreds. Around me lies torn metal, broken wood, cloth, glass bottles, and some bits of luggage laying on a beach. I try to stand up but find myself falling flat on my face. I try again, but this time grabbing a piece of what I believe was a broom, to help me keep my balance. I succeed this time, but a sharp pain in my left leg makes me want to sit back down. I take a quick glance and I can see that my pant leg is stained a crimson red, from what I assume is an unknown wound. Normally one would carefully remove said pant leg to find and treat the wound with medical supplies, but since one of the bags near me isn't marked with any medical symbol, I have to presume that I don't have any of said medical supplies. So using random bits of common knowledge, I searched through some of the bottles hoping to find some alcohol, preferably Vodka. Not only to clean the cause of the pain if it is indeed an open wound, but to drink so to dull the pain. Fortunately luck seemed to be on my side, for I found several bottles of Vodka. Next I grabbed some bits of cleanish cloth from the sands before the ocean can reclaim them. I plan to use them not only to clean off the wound, and to bandage it, but to also act as a tourniquet as a last resort. And to complete my make shift medical kit, I grab a bit of the torn metal to use as scissors.

Now in hindsight I probably should have checked some of the luggage for any cosmetic supplies, since there are usually some tools like tweezers that I could have used, but from the fact that some of the sand was turning crimson I guessed I didn't have the luxury of time on my side. So sitting down on a larger piece of cloth I first feel up and down my leg for where the pain is the strongest. It doesn't take me long to find that it was strongest on the outside of the lower leg, between the knee and the foot. So carefully I separated my jeans from the knee down on my left leg from the rest of it. Then cutting the cut off part down the middle I carefully removed it from my leg. It felt much like taking off a bandage, but very slowly, feeling each of my hair either be pulled out of my skin or out of the dried blood. But after fully removing the fabric, I get a first look at the wound. I would be lying to say it was gushing blood, but there was blood none the less. And the culprit of the wound was there as well. It was a piece of wood, approximately 1/2 an inch across, that had gone in from the top down at an approximate angle of 10 degrees just by looking at it. Not knowing how deep it was in my leg, I took every precaution I could. I prepared the tourniquet just above my knee, cleaned off the surrounding area of where the wood entered with a piece of cloth soaked with vodka, and tore some of the cloth to make some makeshift bandages.

I would like to say that I didn't scream like a baby, or that it wasn't painful. But it was very, very painful. after pulling it for a few second's I wanted to stop so badly, but I knew if I had pulled it far enough out that it had started to bleed again, stopping now would mean the end for me. So gritting my teeth and using all the strength I had, I continued to pull the wood rod out. I was hoping that it didn't go in too deep, and once again to my luck it hadn't gone too far in, only about an inch or two. So cleaning off the now open wound, I wrapped it up tightly and hobbled to my feet. I grabbed a the former broom from earlier to help me walk around. My leg still hurt, but it was manageable. For I knew that my leg would never heal right if I didn't sew the now stickless wound up. So my first task I set for my self was to search through some of the baggage for a sewing kit, food, and hopefully either a lighter or matches. I found all three, and I even found a rifle case that had an semi-automatic hunting rifle with a scope, suppressor, and about 200 rounds in a nearby box, I also found an old fashion wooden bow and about 30 arrow's in total. Needless to say after about 2 weeks of healing after I sewed the wound up, eating caned tuna, and practicing with the bow and arrow, I'd say I could, and would be able to sustainably survive out here for quite a while. But one thing still bothered me, and that was that I couldn't remember for the life of me what I was doing before I woke up on the beach.

For the first 4 years, I spent most of my time on that beach and in a near by forest. Hunting animals for food, skin for clothing, and bones for tools, and armor. The armor by the way was little more than the bones stung together and covered with fur. I also gathered the cloth, wood, metal, and any useful supplies from luggage bags for reuse. For example I reused the metal, wood, cloth, and some of the luggage to make nails, a knife, hatchet, bag pack, quiver, some pouches, a bowl, and an under layer of clothing. I also took the time to search the beach for any other items that I could salvage, I did find some more bags but all they had were mostly useless items. I mean seriously, I found about 30 pairs of dentures in one of them, why in the name of god would someone need that many dentures! Though I did find a watch and a compass in one, and a pair of binoculars in another. I had even built a little hut at the edge of the forest, in which I lived there for a while. Also during these 4 years I have given up trying to repair the cloths I woke up in on the first day, and have instead made an outfit that you might have seen on an native American Indian back when England first came to America. I never did figure out what brand my hunting rifle was, but I have to assume from the way it appears to be built, that it was custom made by someone. But it didn't matter much anyways since I was getting more skilled with the bow and arrow each day. In fact I have gotten so skilled that I rarely use the rifle. Now I would have stayed at the little shack I built until rescue arrived, but it has been 4 years, so I have given up the hope that rescue it coming. But the main reason I decided to move on was the fact that most, if not all the game in the area is gone. So I simply packed up my things and left.

The first days after that were dull to say the least. I had decided to walk down the beach until I find something that could lead me towards civilization, alas none presented themselves. Though I did find a fresh water river coming out of the forest. And at that point I decided for myself that following the river would be my best course of action. So I did, and to this day, I have never regretted it. For I found a part of the forest teaming with life that I had never seen before. So I found the sturdiest tree in that area, and decided to make my home there.

---8 years later---

I was leaping from tree to tree, bow and arrows on my back swaying with each step I took through the dense forest. My hair started to gray about 6 months ago, yet from what I can remember I'm about 34 years old. But now that I think of it, I probably should be slowing down so I can continue to live for many years to come. But that could wait for later, for I was hunting a big old bascorion. Well that's at least what I call the little bastards, they are basically a lion with bat wings and a scorpion tail. And this one was the last one that has been plagued my hunting grounds for the past month or two. I was not going to let it get away with my kills any longer. All I needed to do was catch up to him, and then leap down and put my knife through his neck. I looked ahead and saw the little devil weaving his way though the underbrush, trying desperately to escape death. But I had him, or at least I did if one of those wooden wolves hadn't knocked me out of the tree. Angered greatly by this, I stabbed the wolf right in the neck with my knife. As he fell limp I kicked his lifeless corpse off of me, I climbed back up the tree and tried to listen to where the bascorion went.

It wasn't long before I heard six different feminine screams of terror not to far away. I should have been focused on saving the people screaming, but all I wanted to do was kill the bloody bascorion for all the times I have gone hungry. I ran though the trees to where the screaming came from, and low and behold I found six women backed up against a stone cliff with that little bastard approaching with murderous intent in its eyes. I had the high ground for I was up on the cliff directly above the girls, I could only see their hair but one stood out from all the rest, and that was the one that was dyed to look like a rainbow... or a gay pride flag. I crouched down low on the tree branch, waiting for the old bastard to get close enough so I could kill it with an air assassination. Down below me though the girls were crying and group hugging, probably thinking that this is the end for them. Again it didn't cross my mind, I just wanted to kill that bloody bascorion. And kill him I did, just as he got in range I leaped from the tree and half way down I started yelling, the beast didn't even have time to look up before I landed right on its neck, and with a satisfying sound of bones breaking, the beast lay still. Surviving for 12 years on my own made me appreciate every animal I kill, so I used every part of the animal I kill, and waste nothing. I forgot about the girls behind me as I started to skin and gut the beast. Severing the tail and wings with a swift swing of my hatchet, and pulling the skin off with force, but gentle enough not to tear it. I then pulled off my bag, put the pelt, wings, and tail into it, put it back on my back, and then proceeded to carry the beast back home. Little did I know... well actually I probably did know but I was to focused on my kill to notice, that those girls had opened their eyes and watched me do all those things, and now they were following me.

It took me a good half-hour to an hour to get back to my home in the trees. But when I did I set the beast and my bag down on a makeshift elevator platform, climbed of the tree to my deck, and pulled the rope to bring my kill to my "kitchen". Well it was more like a space set aside for more thoroughly cleaning my kills. And as luck would have it, just as I finish pulling the dead bascorion into the kitchen, suddenly feel light headed, which it quickly followed with vomiting, though I had the time to turn my head so I didn't vomit on the meat, and something hard hitting me in the back of the head. Which resulted with me getting knock out cold.

---FILLER---

When I woke up, I suppressed the urge to groan in discomfort because of one strategic fact. I was in a bed, and actual fucking bed! I really wanted to just continue to lay there and get some actual quality sleep, but because it was a REAL bed, I knew that I wasn't anywhere near my house, or possibly even in the forest. Removing the covers, I noticed that all my non-hidden weapons were gone, but I did still have the small knife hidden just under my arm. Pulling it out I notice a window on the far side of the room. So I walk over towards it as quietly as I can, and I look out. First thing I see is that there are people here, and im in a town! A couple years ago this would have been great! But it has been a long time since I have had any social interaction. Stepping away from the window I hear voices emanating from below me. I walk towards the door and as I reach for the handle I stop myself, for paranoia has gotten the better of myself over the years. I thought that there was a good chance that the door would squeak if I were to open it, alerting who ever is below to the fact that I am awake. So instead I gently place my ear up against the door and try to listen to what they are saying. I only get bits and pieces, but out of them I hear a few names being said, of which they are: Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, Princess Celestia, Spike, Zecora, and Rainbow Dash. That last one must have been the girl who had the rainbow hair. But what peaks my curiosity is the fact that I only hear 8 voices but 9 names said. So one of them must not be present. As I continue to listen I hear a clopping sound, and its getting closer. Quickly pulling away from the door, I look around for a place to hide, and what I do notice is that there are branches above me... So that must mean I'm in a tree. At this point I smile, as I climb up and hide amongst the foliage.

I make it just in time as well, for as soon as I get up there the door opens and 7 girls walk in... or is it trot in? I really don't know for aside from the fact that two of them have horns and two of them have wings, they all have hooves a backwards ankle, and fur, yet aside from those facts they appear to be human. When they notice that I'm not in the bed they start to talk to each other.

"Where did he go!? There is no way he could have woken up yet! We just got him here!" the purple one said while panicking .

"Now calm down sugah cube, we didn't hear the door open, and the window is still closed, so he must till be in the room." said the orange one in the hat

"Now calm down Twilight Sparkle, I have lived in that forest for a long time, and my senses have heightened in that time, and I can still hear him breathing in here. But where I do not know." said the one who looked like a zebra

"Oh, I can find him! Lets see... Nope! Nope! Nope!" Said the pink one while appearing out of everything in the room in a random order... Personally I'm scared or her. "Ha! FOUND HIM!" she screamed as her head appeared right in front of mine, which caused me to ball backwards and land on the yellow one, who let out a small "eep!" when I landed on her. Some of her hair also got in my face, which by the way smelled like daisies.

And being a kind women the rainbow haired one that I'm gonna go ahead and say that her name is Rainbow Dash, grabbed me and threw me off the yellow one, and face first into a book shelf, which then proceeded to fall on top of me. I was then pulled out by the orange one, and Rainbow Dash and pinned up against the wall.

Miss Twilight Sparkle then walked up to be and looked me sternly in the eyes and asked, "Who are you, and what were you doing following us!"

I was going to respond but Rainbow Dash decided to punch me in the gut, which was followed by me coughing up blood. "Well I was going to tell you, that is until your impatient friend over here decided to punch me in the gut. So for now, all your getting out of me, is that my name is Connor." I said looking at Miss Twilight. I then turned my head and spat blood right into Rainbow's face. Right before he punched me in the face and threw me to the floor, but I didn't black out right away, instead I tried to get up but she proceeded to kick me in my legs while the other women tried to restrain her. I then was starting to black out, but I remember getting rolled over by the yellow one, who was crying. But I wonder if it was for me, or for the fact that Rainbow most likely broke my legs. Then I blacked out.

Gazing into the void

Darkness.,. That was all that was around me as a floated across the void. Not present, no past, no future. Just the void. And that plinkity plonkity music that is playing in the background. Slowly rain starts to fall out nowhere, then they just get suspended in mid air. Light from nowhere seems to bounce off the water particles, and they act as if they were stars. Some brighter than others, others twinkling, while others disappear in a blaze of glory. Some gather and form galaxies, while others form nebula's. But all are surrounded by the void. They void is the place where all life goes once they are finished, some are reborn, and some are tossed back into their bodies to continue with new skills or knowledge. While others are forgotten and left to go mad, some of them find their ways back to the world of the living as spirits, or they possess a new host and bring destruction to their lives. Now shadows appear to be dancing along the new forming galaxies and nebula, like ghosts of the past they show the lives of countless species that came before, and have yet to come, all laid out before me. But some are... how should can I put this... more tangible than others. These ones, are from what I know, all the people that came before me. My ancestors, they gather around me, at first I thought they were trying to snuff me out, but then they face outwards and fight off much darker creatures, who's eyes pierce one's very soul, trying to grasp onto your fleeing body, and take it for them selves. If it wasn't for my ancestors, they surely would have taken me by now, but either I have a role to play in some higher power's game, or my family believes I deserve a second chance. Glancing around me I notice a figure off in the distance, who is just staring at the spectacle, an observer if you will. I walk towards this figure, and as I get closer I notice the observer is female, and by judging how her teal eyes seem to get larger she didn't expect me to see her. I keep getting closer to her and more of her becomes apparent, she is wearing a midnight blue, and moon white hued dress with sequins sewn in to look like the stars. Her dark blue hair with what appear to be stars, seems to flow through the void like smoke. Only when I am 5 feet away from her to the last of her features come apparent, the features that define her as the same species as the one's I encountered earlier.

I stopped in front of her and asked, "Who are you? And why are you observing me?" She just stood their slack jawed, not knowing what to say. But after a minute she recomposed her self and responded, "I am princess Luna, and to why I was observing you... Well I was actually trying to look into your memories for my sister, because after her student claimed that you had been stalking her in the forest, she was well... pissed, for lack of better words. And killing that Manticore in front of them didn't help her opinion of you either."

"Wait... that thing is called a Manticore?" Luna nods her head, "That name is so much better than what I have been calling it. Also your basically here to spy on me and/or to look into my memories to either confirm your sisters student's story, or prove my innocence, am I right?" I asked, and Luna replied by nodding her head, "So then I'm guessing this isn't what you were expecting?" Again she nodded her head, "Well if you must know on why I was above your sister's student and her friends, it was because I was hunting that... what did you call it... Ah yes, Manticore. I was hunting the Manticore because its pride had been raiding my traps for quite a while now, and that one was the last of the pride. And I didn't want any other of them wee beasties roaming about my hunting grounds."

"So you're basically saying that the only reason you were near them, was so you could kill off the competition?" She asked

"Correctamundo, and normally I probably wouldn't have gutted the wee beasty in front of them, but then again 12 years lost in a place you don't recognize, with no contact with civilization will do that to a man. By the way name is Connor." I said as I stuck out my hand

Luna looked at me confused for a second but then realized I was offering to shake her hand, and at that point she grabbed mine and shook it, "Glad we sorted all of this out." she said, "Now then, lets wake you up so you can tell my sister, Twilight and her friends about what you were doing, shall we?"

"Yup, see you on the other side little Lunatic." I said with a grin and before she could respond she had already left.

---Back in Colorful people land---

"Well Luna did you find out why he was stalking Twilight and her friends?" Said Celestia

"Yes, yes I did. But you will have to ask him yourself if you want to find out, Tia." Luna said with a sly grin on her face

During that whole little conversation I had already opened my eyes, and saw this Celestia. She sort of looked like her sister, but more colorful daytime colors and I'd have to say she was at least 2 sizes bigger that Luna... So I'd say she's a Double D. So when Luna said to ask me what happened the whole room turned and looked at me. While I just sat there with a smug grin on my face, and a look that said, Yeah, I'm chill'in here, what's it to ya?

"Well, if you must know, no I wasn't stalking Twilight or her friends. I was hunting that bascorion, or as Luna called it, a Manticore. If you want to know why, it is because it and it's former pride had been raiding my traps for a few months. And each time they did it, I went hungry. And to answer your next question the reason I gutted it in front of them is because I forgot not everyone is comfortable with seeing that, but living on your own for 12 years with no contact to civilization will do that to someone." I said as I slowly sat up, only to be glomped by the yellow one who smelled of daisies, who was crying and saying, "Oh, you poor, poor thing." Surprised by this I held my arms out to the side not knowing what to do, but I slowly brought my arms towards her and returned the hug and I said, "I-it's ok?" While giving a look to Luna that said, what do I do. Luna just simply shrugged her shoulders. But my attention was soon grasped by a loud huffing, the kind you hear when someone is ready to burst with anger, as I turned towards the source, why it was none other than skittles. I saw her pull her fist back ready to punch, but this time I was ready, just before her punch connected I grabbed her fist with the palm of my hand, while shaking my head side to side. She seemed to get even angrier, and instead of simply trying to punch me again she stormed off. "Gee, what's her problem?" I asked, and yet all I got in response was a collective sigh from all, well except for Luna, and the yellow one, who's name I have still not learned.

Healing memories

So after that touchy feely moment when the yellow one, who's name I found out was Fluttershy, hugged me. She recommended that they should take me to the hospital, just incase Rainbow broke something when she attacked me. I tried to tell them that I could walk, but Luna and Fluttershy would have none of it. They wanted to get a stretcher and carry me there, but I would have none of that. So we compromised, I would walk, but I would be supported by the both of them. I'll admit, after just walking a couple feet, even with them supporting me, I was hurt bad. How do I know this? Simple, my entire body was in tremendous pain. It felt like I was getting each one of my limbs were being cut off inch by inch. Not to mention it didn't help when people just stopped what they were doing when we passed by, just so they could stare at me. But from what I gathered from the clothing they wore, at least they weren't those rich snobs who think everything and everyone else is beneath them. Eventually we arrived at the hospital, and from what I can remember, which isn't very much by the way, it looked kind of like the hospitals back from... where ever I came from. When we walked in, Luna (who might be my first friend in a very long time) asked the person at the front desk for a room for me, as well as a doctor to come an examine me in a couple of minutes. Which of course the receptionist did, she even gave me a room on the top floor, with a view overlooking the town. Although there was one downside, the room smelled like disinfectant. Luna and Fluttershy carried me over to the bed while the others waited outside, I'm going to guess that they felt bad about accusing
me of stalking them, that or knocking me out in my home and dragging me into their town.

After Luna and Fluttershy helped my up on the bed, they pulled over two chairs and sat down next to my bed. It was quiet for a bit, while we waited for the doctor to arrive. So in the mean time Luna decided to start up a conversation with me.

"So, twelve years alone. How exactly did you survive?" She asked

"Oh, you know, I scavenged for materials, hunted game, built a place to live, those sort of things." I said

"Oh. Also do you remember where you came from? Because if you do, it would help us greatly in finding the rest of your kind."

"No, I don't. Actually, I don't remember much from before I woke up on that beach. Heck, I don't even know if Connor is my real name." I said in a sad tone, "But I remember some things, like I remembered how to crudely dress a wound, and I'm lucky I did remember that otherwise I wouldn't be here now."

"What do you mean by that?" Fluttershy asked

"Well, when I woke up on that beach, I had a piece of wood sticking out of my left leg, and it was causing me to loose a lot of blood. Heck I still have the scar if you want to see it." Fluttershy pondered this for a moment, but she nodded her head. So ever so carefully I rolled up my pant leg enough to show the wound. And when they saw it they both gasped, probably because of how jagged the scar was, or the fact that there were several smaller scars on my leg, just some of the one's I gained over the years.

"We should get the doctor to see if he can do anything about that scar. It looks quite painful. Also back on the topic of memories, there is a way to help you regain lost memories, but there is no guarantee that all your memories will come back, if they come back at all." Luna said

"I'm willing to try anything at this point. For every day for the past 12 years, I have wondered what happened to me, but every time I catch a glimpse of the past, escape from my grasp."

"Ok, well here goes nothing." she said as she put her hand on my forehead.

At first nothing seemed to happen, then a memory came rushing to me, I was on a boat, and people of all ages were on it as well. Why was I on the boat, and who were these people? ...Yes, it's coming back to me now, they are my family, and we were taking a holiday cruse to the Caribbean. I remember some people in particular, I remember my mom, dad, and little sister. And they were calling me by my name. What was it... John... John what? What is my last name? I can't remember... But I do remember my sister's name. Her name was Bonnie. But why did I wake up on the beach and not on the boat. I need to remember... I remember we had just entered the Bermuda Triangle, and a bad storm formed an hour later. I remember a large wave that had hit the boat and started to flip it over. I remember grabbing Bonnie's hand with one hand, and the railing with another. I remember the rest of my family falling into the water, and I was loosing my grip on the railing. The next thing I remember is I'm in the water, and Bonnie's body is going down towards the sea floor, I remember swimming down towards her and grabbing her. Swimming back up to the surface, holding her tightly, trying to get her to wake up. Then I saw a monster wave, just before it crashed down on me. Then I woke up on the beach.

Luna pulled her hand off of my forehead, and I just sat there... Looking off into space, trying to comprehend what just happened. Then, I was crying. No not crying, weeping. I had no one left. They were all gone. For years I had thought that they were out there looking for me, that when I found my way back to civilization I'd have someone to go to. I never thought of this. I felt an hand land on my shoulder, and I turned to see it was Luna's hand on my shoulder.

"Are you alright?" she asked

"Yeah... just give me a minute." I said with a sigh, "I just remembered how I ended up on the beach, as well as my name."

"That's good right?" Luna asked

"I guess so... I think it would have been better if I never had known." I said while wiping the tears from my eyes

"Could you tell us your name then... If that's alright with you that is." Fluttershy asked sweetly

"John. John is my real name, well at least my first name. I still don't know what my last name is."

Just then the doctor came in. And the following moments were a blur of tests, and needles. God I forgot how much I hate needles. Hey wait, I remember I hate needles! Gah! That one hurt like hell. The Doc then left the room for a little bit and came back with a folder in his hands.

"Well I have good news and bad news." The doctor said, "The good news is that you're going to make a full recovery! The bad news is that, from the blood tests we ran, you have low levels of vitamins B6, B12, C, and Folic Acid. But that can all be fixed by eating better, or supplements."

"Well that's good to hear." I said, "But why do you look confused?"

"Well... We don't know what to put down for species. Since your unlike everyone else."

"Human, I'm human. H-U-M-A-N. Got that?"

"Yep. You should be free to leave in a day or two once your legs feel better." said the Doc, before he left the room

Fluttershy then turned to me with a confused look, "Human? Like those creatures Lyra keeps talking about?"

Oh, boy. Looks like I'm going to have to try and explain things to this Lyra. That or be out of here before she finds me.

Your friendly neighborhood kidnapper

"You mentioned someone named Lyra, and that they are obsessed with humans. What can you tell me about them?" I asked Fluttershy

"Well, from what I remember, she has been obsessed with humans ever since Derpy dropped a coconut on her head. To tell the truth, she hasn't been the same since." she said with a frown

"What do you mean, "Hasn't been the same since?" I asked with an eyebrow raised

"Well, before she was focused on getting into the Canterlot Grand Symphony, but now all she wants is to find that humans are real. And well, here you are. Personally, I think it would be better if she didn't find out. Because I fear what she would do to you." again she said this with a frown.

"What does Lyra look like?" I asked

"Well she is a mint green Unicorn with cyan hair with a white streak in it."

"Oh ok, now I kno.... Wait, Unicorn?" I said with a confused look on my face

"Yeah, Unicorn, you know, she has a horn on her head. Why do you look so confused?"

"I have never heard of anyone with a horn before. Are there any other species classifications I should know about?"

"Well there are Pegasi like my self, although the singular is Pegasus, and we have wings. Then there are Earth Ponies who don't have a horn or wings. And then there are Alicorns like Luna who have both wings and a horn." She said with a look that made her look like a scholar.

"Why did you refer to that one group as Ponies? Since although I may not remember my past, I do remember that Ponies and Horses In general walked on four legs not two."

"Well we actually use to refer to groups of people as everypony not too long ago, but recently as more species other than ponies have been living in Equestria lately, we have changed it over to everyone to be more ethnically accurate."

"I see, and you mentioned that you had wings. Can I see them?" I asked

She responded with a small blush for some reason while she nodded her head. They seemed to come out of nowhere, but all the while I was memorized by how large they where. Just by looking at them, I would have to say each wing was about 5ft across, and they were buttery yellow in color. And now that I look closer her skin is a buttery yellow as well. "Wow." Was all I could say in response.

She folder her wings back up but still had a small but noticeable blush on her face, she also seemed to become smaller, as if trying to hide. All the while Luna was looked like she was going to put the room I was in on lockdown. I even saw here eyes dart across the room ever now and again. As if looking for all entry points into the room. Her paranoia was too good to pass up. Now in hindsight it might have been a bit mean, but I couldn't help but blurt out, "Look it's Lyra!" As I pointed to a window behind her. She spun around, and horn ablaze she blasted the window with a blue beam of light. It looked like an overpowered laser personally. And upon realizing that nothing was there she turned back to be with a flustered look on her face and said, "Not funny."

With a grin on my face I said, "Sorry, but you need to lighten up a bit, you will overwork yourself worrying about things that are unlikely to happen."

"Your tempting fate by saying that, you know that right?" Luna said

"Meh, what you going do about something you can't control, also I saw that you had a horn when you blasted that window, so im guessing your a Unicorn then?"

"No, I'm a alicorn, and my sister is as well."

"Ah, I see." I say just before I look out the window and notice the sun is setting in the sky. "Looks like it is getting late"

Luna and Fluttershy look out the window after I said that, and give a small nod, recognizing the time as well.

"I think it's about time we leave for the day, we will be back tomorrow, ok." Luna says

"Ok, see ya." I say while waving my hand at them as they walk out the door.

I watch as the sun sets and the moon rises, looking forward to a restful night's sleep in a REAL BED! I adjust my bed sheets just before closing my eyes and drifting off to sleep.

"Finally they have left it alone. Now it will be all mine." I say to myself

I sneak up to the hospital building, and start to climb up to it's floor. By the time I reach the top by fingers are sore, and my hooves hurt. But it doesn't matter, for tonight I will have a Human, and I can prove that I AM NOT CRAZY! I carefully open the window with my magic, hoping that the windows weren't rigged with a magic detection charm. I wait a minute before climbing into the room, and I see my prey just laying there, on the bed with no protection what so ever. And off to the side I see a bag of what I assume contains its stuff. Now normally I would lunge for that stuff, but why go for the things when I could get a living Human instead. I set my black back on the floor and grab my bottle of chloroform and a rag. Pouring some chloroform on the rag, I then proceed to cover the Human's mouth and nose with the chloroform soaked rag, while holding it down. It's eyes shoot open, and it tries to struggle, but as it does it breaths in the chloroform and ends up knocking it self unconscious.

I pull it out of bed, and from my bag a grab a harness, I slip it on the human. I then grab the rope from my bag and attach the rope to the harness. Then tying the other end of the rope to the bed frame, I pick up the human and carry it over to the window. Then carefully lowering it down to the ground. When the rope starts to gain slack I know it is on the ground. Not wanting to leave any evidence behind, I untie my rope, and make sure that I leave nothing behind. Then climbing back out the window, and shutting it with magic. I climb down to the ground careful not to step on what will most likely be my only specimen. On the ground I pick up the Human and slump him over my shoulder. Then quickly but quietly I carry it back to my second home on the edge of town. Opening the door I head to the basement that I had prepared just for this very day. I set the human in the cage that I had made, and as I walk out I hear it moan, a sign that I is either waking up or is hurt. I decide that I will ask it when it wakes up. I shut the door and lock it with several different locks. All that require a different key to open. Outside the cage I pull up a wooden chair, sit down, and wait. Wait for when it will wake up. Then, All my dreams will come true.

"Why does everything hurt?" I say groaning as I try to sit up. Only to realize I can't. I open my eyes and see what looks like a stone floor. I use my hand to try and touch the stone to see if it real. And when my hand connects, I feel the cool touch of stone. It takes me a minute for my brain to connect the dots, but when it does I push up and jump to my feet. Only to have excruciating pain jolt up from my legs to the rest of my body, and end up falling to the ground on my knees. That's when I remember that I was in the hospital for Rainbow practically breaking my legs. I take the next moment to take a look of my immediate surroundings. Ahead of me is a set of iron bars. and in front of those I can only see darkness. I turn to look behind me and all I see is single light surrounded darkness, and a simple wooden chair with wooden arm rests, sitting under said light.

I force my self up despite the excruciating pain, and work my way over to the chair and sit down in it... and find that it is rather comfortable. And just as I was starting to relax, Iron bands sprung up from the side of the arm rests and clamped around my arms, then more clamps sprung out from the front legs and clamped around my legs. I just sit there stunned... I could tell the chair was a trap, but I didn't think it would be something like this. I look at the clamps around my arms to see it there was a way out of it. I saw that there was a seem in the middle of the clamps. But before I could even attempt to think of a way out, a row of lights appeared in the darkness, that seemed to go on forever, and my chair was enveloped in a minty green hue. And before I could even say, "Oh shit" I was shot forward into the light at an a astounding speed. I could feel all my blood rushing from my head, and as my vision started to tunnel and a black out approach, the chair slowed down immensely. Eventually coming to a steady pace, until coming to stop in front of another set of bars, but this set had a door in it. For a moment I just sat there with my head dropped forward, until the blood finally came rushing back to my brain, jolting me awake. Pulling my head back up I started to pull at the clamps, tying to force them off. Until a very, VERY creepy voice spoke to me from the darkness ahead.

"You... are quite difficult to find aren't you?" Said an obviously female voice from the darkness

I looked towards where the voice originated from, and admist the darkness a light appeared from behind the bars. And in that light sat a figure dressed in black, wearing a black mask and orange goggles which prevented me from getting a look at her. I did notice her hands though, which were a mint green. Then at that very moment, I could practically hear the alarm bells ringing in my head, as I connected the dots, the mint green hands, mint green light, the waking up in the cage.... oooohhhh, I am screwed if this is who I think it is.

"Let me guess, Lyra. Am I right?" I say in a low baritone voice

The woman takes off her goggles and mask, and leaves without a doubt that it is Lyra, due to her cyan hair with a white streak in it, "So you know who I am. But do you know why I brought you hear?" she asked

"Because you are a crazy mad women, with a fetish for creatures that no one has ever heard of before?" I say with a smirk

That seemed to do something, as her hair suddenly became more wild as she yelled, "I am not CRAZY!!!" The room seemed to shake, and the lights turned a blood red, as a look of sheer rage crossed her face for a split second before returning to normal, before saying in a sad tone, "I'm not crazy." followed by a few tears hitting the floor.

I just sat there as she cried for a minute just thinking, "Either she is bad shit crazy with a side of OCD, or she's OCS and that hit in the head caused a form of Bipolar disorder. Why do I know that? Well there is another thing that I need to try and figure out. But that can wait, right now im bound to a chair, in a cage... a long ass on at that, and I have no idea where I am. Oh, she stopped crying. Better pay attention."

"Now, don't do that again, or you will regret it. Now tell me, what are you? And you better tell the truth." She said

"I'm just someone looking for home and a lost family member." I replied with a sly smile while all the while thinking, "If this plan works, if I ever make it out of here, I will eat the first hat I see."

"I meant what species are you, not a riddle." She replied

"I told you the truth, and answered your question. Now if you want any more from me, you will have to answer my questions. Do we have a deal?" I ask

"You know that you are in no position to argue right?" She asks with a raised eyebrow

"Oh, I know. And I can tell, not talking would annoy you to beyond what you can handle." I reply

She sits there for a minute, crossing her legs and interlocking her hands together, before saying, "I don't know what Luna and Fluttershy told you about me at that hospital, but im pretty damn sure they didn't tell you about my personality. So either you are some kind of psychologist, or you were playing quite the dangerous game." She leans in closer before saying, "And lucky for you, I like dangerous. So yes, we have a deal."

I honestly can't believe that plan worked, but now what kind of shit have I worked my self into.

"Now what do you want to know?" she asked.

"Why am I here and not back in the hospital?" I ask

Lyra simple chuckles at this, "The better question is why are you not in some lab." She leans back a bit, "Don't you know that you should be in some myth? Something that shouldn't be real? Something... that could shake the very foundation of all life as we know it. For you see, according to much research, and various "deals" with other fanatics, I have been able to trace a lost history to an age before we were here. The rise before the fall, the time before time. The age of Man, the age of Human kind." she says with a glint of something in her eye

"What are you talking about? And how does that answer my question?" I ask more confused than ever

"What I am talking about, is the fact that according to records found, your kind, the humans, should be extinct over 7 million years ago. The fact that you are here, is simply amazing. I want to study you, find a way to revive your species. So to answer your question I brought you here to try and revive your species, by any means necessary." she answers

"But what does that MEAN!" I practically yell

"It means, that due to the fact that I could never know whether or not you were going to be male or female, I have taken one of every sentient species I could find, in attempt to find one compatible with your species genetic code. But even this might be all for nothing, because for all I know, your DNA might not match any of the species I have taken, for all I know your species may be doomed. But I would give my life for the opportunity to revive an entire species." She said in an early calm voice, and before I could respond a beeping noise came from behind Lyra.

"Aww, is it that time already? Damn." She said with a sigh, "Oh well, looks like my yearly vacation is up. But don't you worry, a year for me is simple a week for you and your soon to be friends." She said standing up, and with a snap of her fingers, the entire room lit up, and my legs and arms were released from the clamps. I rubbed my wrist with one hand and watched her head towards a door that I could now see in the corner of the room. "Ta, ta darling. Oh, and before I forget, see this light?" She points to a purple light on the wall, "If this light goes on, well, the door will open, as well as supplies. For I will have no idea where you will end up. Well I do, but I don't know where that is. To be more exact it will be by your home, or where ever you have been hiding." She said before opening the door and walking out.

Behind me I hear the sound of hooves, claws, and foot steps or is it paw steps? I don't even know anymore. The come to a stop beside me, and I look down to see a sword by my neck, turning my head I see a giant of a beast. Horns on it's head, blue fur, and gigantic muscles. It says to me, "What did that woman mean that you are the one that she has been looking for?"

I simply look at it, and say, "I have no idea what she meant. Also I am more afraid by what she meant, than that sword to my neck."

It looks at me with a death glare for a moment, before bursting into a hardy laugh as it pulled its sword away from my neck, and into a sheath on its belt. "I like you. The name is Bruce, Bruce Ironhorn. Who might you be?" Bruce asks as he sticks out his hand

"Names John. And you are the 3rd person I have met so far who doesn't want to hurt me." I say as I grab his hand and shake it
