An ordinary day, turns into one whole new adventure!
Well, it all started as an ordinary night for me, but as I head to sleep, I'm gonna be in for one unexpected ride! Let's just say, I'm gonna have to get used to life in Equestria.
My life is going quite well these days. But, today is no ordinary day. I will soon wake up in that well-known land of multi-colored talking ponies, Equestria. Who knows? My day is about to get 20% cooler.
“Josh, time for chores!”
“Alright Mom, coming!”
It was a dark evening on a pretty much average day for me, and it was getting close to dinnertime. I had just finished my homework, and really was looking forward to hot dogs for dinner. I walked over to the stove and grabbed some pill bottles from the basket on the overhead shelf. They were mainly for my mom and my dog, who both had similar heart problems. I set my dog's meds on the washing machine, and my mom's ones on a platter in the bathroom next to the sink. I then got myself a glass of milk and checked the calendar. I was getting off of my medication because the condition they were treating was practically gone,and to my relief, I skip one today. I went over and sat down on the left side of the couch facing the front window. My mom, dad and I watched the local news and the national news(with no really new stories, just stuff about a recent tragedy at a high school in Chardon and some dumb political stuff). I got my chores done for the night and settled into bed, ready to dream about those ponies again, and any adventures I'd want to have with them. I quickly fell asleep, not even snoring, just breathing slightly.
Even with my eyes closed, I suddenly noticed that the room I was in was a lot brighter than my bedroom. I rubbed my eyes and looked around. I was in a library, and since my vision was a little blurry since I was still a little tired, I could only make out a purple and green blur. Then I heard a grumbling noise that I knew could only be my stomach: “Man, I'm starving. I should really get something to eat” “You're telling me. I could really go for some gems right now, especially sapphires...” I rubbed my eyes, and looked more clearly at where the voice was coming from, and the voice looked over at me.
“YAAAAAH!” Both voices screamed. I quickly ran behind a nearby bookshelf, and peeked around. Whoa, a dragon. I carefully walked back out, noticing it was doing the same. We stood face to face, like statues. The dragon was about up to the middle of my thighs in height, with light lavender scales. He had a crest made up of three large green scales, with smaller ones down his back and on his tail, which had a small spade-shaped fin on it. “Um, hello?” We said in unison. We both flinched “You talked!” We said again. “Well duh, we kinda struck a small conversation before all of, well, this” I pointed to the bookshelves we hid behind before. “Oh, right”
“Yeah”
Very awkward silence.
“What are you, anyway? Never seen you before”
“I'm a human...and you are, let me guess, a dragon?”
“Yep, what's new about that?”
“Well, I never saw a real dragon before, but I sure read about you in stories and legends.”
“Wait, wherever you're from, you heard of me?”
“Well, yeah, b-but your kind never really existed”
“Whoa, whoa whoa. How can I be famous and legendary if my kind never existed in where you're from? It doesn't make any sense!”
“THIS WHOLE SITUATION DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!”
Again, awkward silence.
“Oh, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you. It's just because I don't know why I'm here or how I could get back home. It's all just a big, jumbled mess.”
The dragon spoke, fanning the claws on both of his hands, “Hey hey hey. It's okay! It's my fault, really. I shouldn't have thrown so many questions on you. Let's just start over. Allow me to introduce myself. The name's Spike, and I'm a dragon. Now, you try.”
“Okay, I'm Josh, and I'm a human-”
My stomach growled again, interrupting me before I could say anything more.
“And hungry” Spike said with a chuckle. “Let's go get you something to eat.”
“Sure, let's go. We can talk on the way there” I walked out the door, with Spike right next to me.
“So, where are you from?”
“America”
“America?”
“Well, more like the United States of America”
“Never heard of it!”
“You never heard of it? This is Earth, you should know!” “Yeah this is Earth, but I've never heard of America. Is it brand-new?”
“It's existed for two to three hundred years!”
“Well, if it was a new country, the news would've reach everyone in about two or three days”
“Maybe you live on a different planet that you guys also named 'Earth'. I dunno, just guessing.” “Whoa, whoa, hold on.” I clarified, “If this is a completely different planet that I'm on, and you've never seen a human before in your life, doesn't that mean I'm the only human here?”
“Well, as far as I can tell, you ARE.”
"Huh, well that kinda makes me feel out of place."
“I know,” Spike sighed, “Being the pig among guinea pigs. Being the ruby among emeralds. I mean, take a look at me: I'm a dragon in a town populated with ponies! It wasn't easy to accept, but after acting like myself, I blended in in no time!”
“Wait! Ponies?”
“Yeah. Ponies!” Spike slapped himself on the forehead. “DOYYY! Of course! Where are my manners? I should introduce you to Twilight! And the rest of the gang! Follow me!”
“What's with the sudden enthusiasm?”
“Nothing! Just the fact that you seem like a swell guy, and you should deserve to meet my friends, that’s all.”
“You seem pretty funny, too. Oh, looks like we're here at Sugarcube Corner."
"Well, let's go inside then. I'm sure there's someone waiting for me."
"Uh, yeah, duh! Pinkie Pie lives here." Spike said.
We opened the door and walked inside, and almost immediately I was almost blown out the door by confetti and streamers.
"Surprise!" Pinkie and 5 other ponies shouted.
"WHOA, what the-" I fell backwards and luckily, Spike caught me. However, my weight was too much for him, and we both crashed to the floor.
"Ugggh... Pinkie, gonna have to watch out next time" I groaned as I shakily stood up.
"Huh? Oh,Ididn'tseeyouandIwasthrowingapartycauseIjustwantedtoandnowyou'reheresotheparty'snowforyouandit'sgonnabesofun" Pinkie said as she helped me up, "And how do you know my name?"
"Spike mentioned you" I said, "but the real reason I know you is something I want to bring up at a later time."
"Okie dokie lokie! Well, I'm throwing you a party, dontcha like it?"
"Yeah, in fact, party's are my thing right now!" I exclaimed.
"Allll right! Let's start with some cupcakes first, then we can dance and play 'Pin the tail on the pony' and..." I put a hand up to her mouth.
"Ok, ok, calm down. In fact, I was thinking of something even better to do before eating cupcakes. How about baking them?"
"Ooh, ooh! Great! Mind if we sing while we bake?"
Sure! I know your song, Cupcakes!"
"Really? Well, then let's get going!"
Pinkie ran into the kitchen before I could react, so I just sighed and walked in after her.
When I got into the kitchen, Pinkie had just burst into song and I joined her as we baked some cupcakes.
"All you have to do is take a cup of flour, add it to the mix" She said while adding flour to a bowl on the counter.
"Now just take a little something sweet not sour I sang as I took a piece of candy and tossed it into the bowl.
"add a bit of salt, just a pinch" She sang while adding salt to the bowl
"Baking these treats is such a cinch, add a teaspoon of vanilla" I continued the song while adding vanilla
"Add some more and you count to four, and you never get your filla!" Pinkie continued
"Cupcakes!"
"So sweet and tasty!"
"Cupcakes!"
"Don't be too hasty"
"Cupcakes!"
"Cupcakes, cupcakes, CUPCAAAAAKES! We finished together.
"Wow, that was fun! You sing well. And I didn't catch your name. What's your name?"
"My name is Josh"
"Wow, hi Josh. Mind if I call you Joshy?"
"Back in my world, I would normally be quite annoyed by people calling me that, but since you asked so nicely, go right ahead. I'm fine with it."
"Great, Joshy. Come on! You have to meet my friends!"
We walked out into the main room, where I was promptly tackled by a cyan-rainbow blur.
"OW! What the-Dash, knock it off!"
"What are you doing here? Are you a spy? Don't hurt my friends, or I will have to hurt you..." She yelled at me before she was restrained by her friends.
"Whoa-ho there, RD. No need to get so suspicious now. Howdy, mah name's Applejack. What's yers?"
"Oh, hi Applejack. My name's Josh. I seem to remember you"
"Really? From where? Ah don't remember us meetin' anywhere before"
"I'll explain later. And you who tackled me, you're Rainbow Dash, right?"
"Of course, the fastest flyer in Equestria. I'm still gonna keep an eye on you, so don't try anything." She said, ending it with a quick glare.
"And I know you, you're Rarity, is that right?"
"Why yes, dear. The most popular dressmaker in all of Ponyville. And quite luckily, the only one" she said with a flip of her mane.
"Oh, and you must be Fluttershy"
Fluttershy only answered with a quiet "Eep!" before hiding behind her mane even more.
"It's okay Josh" Twilight reassured me, "Fluttershy's really shy around newcomers, but when you get to know her, she's very sweet and kind"
"Thanks, Twi. Well, the day's almost done, and I don't have a place to stay."
"Oh, it's okay. You can sleep at my house." Twilight said.
"Thanks again Twilight, you're the best friend anypony could ever have" I said, quickly blushing.
"Oh, it's nothing Josh, you're welcome to stay with any of us." Twilight said with a smile.
They went home, and I walked into the library with Twilight.
"Where do you want to sleep, Josh?" Twilight asked
"Oh, I'll sleep on the couch"
"Okay, good night Josh"
"Good night, Twilight" I said, and quickly chuckled at myself.
"Huh? What's so funny?"
"Oh, it's just that good night Twilight rhymes."
"Oh, hehe, that's good to know. Goodnight."
Twilight levitated a blanket and laid it atop me, then walked upstairs to her room. I then went quickly to sleep, wondering what the next day would bring.

Hey guys, second chapter is now up. I'm gonna be working on the third chapter soon. This isn't gonna be a very lengthy story, mainly because sometimes lengthy stories tend to eventually bore me out unless there's a lot of new events happening that can't be quickly explained. I don't know if I'll ever become a pony, but hey, I'm not spoiling that surprise. I Pinkie Promise.

I woke up quickly to notice Twilight coming down the stairs.
"Time for breakfast!"
"Okay, coming Twilight."
I got off the couch, neatly folded the blanket and placed it over the pillow, then I walked into the kitchen, where I saw Twilight preparing some pancakes.
"Pancakes, my favorite!"
"Good, you're going to love these. Hay pancakes with maple syrup."
"Hay? Oh, never mind, they're pancakes."
"I guess you haven't gotten used to our diet, huh? It's ok."
Just then, I looked back and saw Spike heading down the stairs. "Hey, Spike, morning"
"Oh, morning Josh. Morning Twilight."
"She's making hay pancakes. Want some?"
"Sure! They smell delicious!"
Spike and I quickly finished our breakfast and I started out the door, and I stopped.
"Twilight, can I talk to you about something? I'm gonna need your friends here too."
"Sure, just a minute."
Twilight suddenly concentrated, and in a burst of light, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie were here.
"Aw come on, Twilight. I was in the middle of a stunt."
"I have an orchard ta buck, Twi."
"I was in the middle of an important design, darling"
"Girls, calm down. Josh has something to say."
"Oh, sorry." Everypony said together.
"Ok, sit down somewhere please. I really want to get this off my chest. Okay, I'll tell you why I know all of you. It's because, when I was at my house in my world, I watched you on my computer, on this show called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I learned all about your lives, your friendship, your names, and even your accomplishments, like the defeats of Nightmare Moon and Discord. Then a few days ago, I woke up here and that's why I've been going through everything I've gone through this week. I've known you girls for about a month now."
"A MONTH? Oh, I've got to tell Princess Celestia about this." Twilight shouted, "Spike, take a letter"
"Right away, Twilight" Spike said, then he ran to Twilight's desk, grabbed a quill and some parchment.
After about a few minutes of writing, he lifted the rolled-up letter and puffed green flames on it, completely obliterating the paper, which startled me. I will never understand that, I thought.
"I hope Princess Celestia won't be mad with me. I certainly would not want to be banished to the moon."
"Oh, she wouldn't do that. Most likely she'll ask you why you're here, and how you know all of us so well."
"Ok, I was getting worried. Well, I hope she arrives soo- whoops, spoke too soon, here she comes"
Suddenly, I saw a blinding light, and a large pony slowly descended. Despite the blinding light, I could make out her mane and that she is an alicorn, which meant that she was Princess Celestia. I immediately bowed before her, as was expected in front of royalty.
"Now now, no need for formalities here. I just want to know, why are you here, and how do you know us?"
"Um, Princess, I don't know why I'm here, and I know you and them from a show I watched at home called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I would never hurt anypony, and I understand that if I did, the punishment would be quite severe."
"Good, at least you understand what is expected. I do not know where you came from, and I've never used magic on a human before, so I cannot send you home. I know that must be a disappointment, but for now you are allowed to stay here as long as you like."
"Oh, thank you, Princess. I am honored to be here. You are my favorite princess ever."
"Your...favorite?"
"Um, yes. You're just so nice, caring, and quite wise."
"Thank you for the compliment. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some business to attend to."
"Um, can you please do a quick thing for me?"
"Sure, ask whatever you'd like"
I quickly whispered something into the princess' ear, and she looked concerned, but then nodded her head. Her horn began to glow, and I felt dizzy, and then all I could see was blackness.
