Three mares form a plan together. Their goal is to confess their feelings for their respective 'special friends'. It is much easier said than done, after all who can plan 3 dates at the same time?

Ditzy Doo AKA Derpy Hooves, Vinyl Scratch and Bon Bon are tired of having to hide their feelings for The Doctor, Octavia and Lyra, respectively, and want to reveal those feelings. However they can't do it by themselves, so they decide to join forces and create a plan that is certain to work. Of course, it all depends on how well these shy mares can handle the situation.

Contains two lesbian couples and a straight couple. Three shippings in one story.
Don't like these kinds of stories, don't read. Don't like how the story goes, tell me why.

The Plan

The morning sun shone brightly across the land as Ponyville's ponies start to perform their daily duties. Well, all except for three young mares who instead enjoy a nice breakfast in the local restaurant. It was a simple meal, a muffin, waffles and milkshakes, though they certainly needed it for the conversation the mares were having.

"Then the Doctor said he didn't even eat meat and said that was a strange question...I just don't know what went wrong..." Derpy looked down at her muffin with a depressed face.

"Relax, Derpy, you just couldn't say the right word." DJ Pon-3, or Vinyl Scratch as she let her friends call her, put a hoof on Derpy's back as she attempted to cheer her up. "So you made 'Do you like me?' into 'Do you like meat?', big deal! I have the same problem with Tavi. Last time I tried to say 'I really like you, Tavi' I ended up saying 'I really like your music, Tavi'. I don't even like all that boring sound she makes with that over-sized violin!" She began laughing at herself as she put a foreleg around Derpy, trying to get her to laugh as well.

"I don't think that's helping her, Vinyl." said Bon Bon. "And it's called a cello."

"And you of all ponies knows, Bon Bon?" Vinyl asked with a slightly frustrated tone.

"When you live with Lyra, you tend to hear a lot of complimenting and mocking about Octavia's style and instrument." Bon Bon replied with pride.

"Hey, tell your marefriend that nopony mocks Tavi's music!" said Vinyl, serious and pointing a hoof at her friend.

"What? But you JUST did!" Bon Bon said, confused.

"So how is it going with Lyra?" asked Derpy, not wanting her friends to start arguing.

"Oh, it couldn't be better! We are like candy and chocolate!" Bon Bon smiled attempting to put up a facade of triumph. However her nervous eyes betrayed her, and didn't go unnoticed by the DJ.

"I assume that's Bonbonish for saying 'we are so far away from being together and I just came up with the worst metaphor ever', Bon Bon?" Vinyl was about to laugh again when Bon Bon glared at her. "What?"

Derpy looked at Vinyl and sighed before looking at Bon Bon again. "What was the problem this time?"

"Well...I was going to, really, but then the doubts came to me. What if she doesn't like me back? What if she likes another mare? What if she's not even into mares? Oh no, it's happening again!" Bon Bon began panicking as she imagined the situation all over again. However, thanks to her, the doubts came to her friends with the same intensity.

"Eww, you're gay?! Back off, you freak!" Lyra's voice resonated in Bon Bon's mind.

"My, Ditzy, please don't hate me for this. I just...do not think we are right for each other." Derpy could hear the Doctor's voice crushing her hopes in her head.

"Oh, Vinyl, dear, allow me to explain in very long and complicated words the reason why we cannot be together." Vinyl's mind was invaded by hypothetical words coming from the voice of Octavia.

In almost perfect synchronization and to the surprise of the restaurant's waiters, cooks and everypony eating, Bon Bon and Derpy began screaming in panic at the thought of rejection, though Vinyl handled it better, or at least wasn't screaming externally. Once they stopped screaming Vinyl decided to take the role of the bravest pony around.

"Ok, mare up, ladies!" she said as she put her hooves on her friends' shoulders. "We need to get serious here! If we live with the doubt we'll just have a cardiac arrest when they hug us on our birthdays. And we don't want that, right?" Both mares shook their heads and she continued. "We need to have THE talk with them as soon as possible!"

"What?! But we can barely handle rejection in our minds!" Derpy protested.

"Do you want to have those feelings burning you from inside forever?" the DJ asked, and as she expected Derpy didn't respond. "Look, I don't want to be rejected either. I love Tavi more than anything, even if we have our pointless arguments and differences in taste, and I just plain hate having to hide it from her. I'm sure you both feel the same way about the Doctor and Lyra, and have the same problem. I know I'm shy when it comes to these things, we all are, but we have to do something, and fast." she turned to look at Bon Bon. "Don't you agree, Bon Bon?"

"As much as I think you are just being impulsive like you always are, you do have a point. What about you, Derpy?" Bon Bon looked at the pegasus, expecting her friendly stare to get her friend to understand.

Derpy's eyes seemed to be looking everywhere as her cheeks started to feel warmer. Grabbing the first thing in front of her, that is to say, her muffin, she put it in front of her face, apparently hoping it would hide her from Bon Bon's eyes. "I'm not here!" she said in a higher-pitched voice than normal. Her friends simply stared at the "muffin mask" and they both brought a hoof to their faces.

"So what is your plan, Scratch?" Bon Bon finally asked.

"Not MY plan...OUR plan!" Vinyl answered as she used her magic to remove her glasses. "Tonight, we all are going to get our mares and stallion, or at least get the consuming doubt out of the way! All we have to do is-...please get that muffin off your face, Derpy!"

"Derpy is not here!" Derpy attempted to keep going with the act until Bon Bon took a big bite of the muffin, big enough to render the "convincing" disguise useless. "Hey! That was mine, Bon Bon!" Derpy said angrily.

"Well, you were not going to eat it!" Bon Bon talked with her mouth full, enjoying not only the muffin but also Derpy's reaction. She swallowed and before Derpy could try to say something she spoke to Vinyl. "You were saying?"

"Right...see, we should plan individually for each of us. But since most of our ideas don't end well, I thought we may need outside help. That means, you two will help me plan my idea, me and Derpy will help Bon Bon, and then me and Bon Bon will help Derpy!" Vinyl was proud of her idea and laid back on her chair placing her forelegs behind her head. "This is truly a plan of-uh...what do you call that thing where it benefits more than one?"

"Mutual benefit!" shouted a filly from somewhere in the restaurant.

"Ah, yes, that! Thank you!" Vinyl shouted back, though at nopony in particular.

"What are you, a dictionary?" said a different filly, her voice coming from the same direction as the helpful filly's.

"In any case, let's start with me." Vinyl leaned in and began speaking to her friends as if they were plotting something secret. "I was planning on taking Tavi on a stroll through the park today. What do ya gals think I should add?"

"Well, for starters, don't bring up anything related to your different music tastes. Also, since you are taking her out on what can be called a date, if she wants to get something to eat, do not let her pay for it," Bon Bon began, "No matter how much she says it's alright, you don't let her pay."

"Gotcha, candy! What about you, Derpy?"

Derpy replied after much thought. "Avoid showing off or trying to impress her every second. It's gonna be hard, but you have to do it. And try not to make your intentions too obvious, don't make her feel uncomfortable and if she stays still staring at something you don't find interesting, let her do it and wait for her."

"Well, that does sound hard...I think I can handle it. Alright, what are your plans for tonight, Bon Bon?"

"Movie night! Lyra rented some horror movies. What do you girls think I should do?"

"Get scared and cling to her in fear!" Vinyl joked, but her joking attitude vanished after she noticed Bon Bon was actually paying attention to that. "I was kidding, Bon Bon. You should try to remain brave and hope that she gets scared to cling to you. If you cling to her then that will be too obvious."

"And if the movie is sure to be scary make sure not to eat too much before or during the movie. And, if you know something's gonna jump at you like those cheap but always successful jump scares, look away and cover your ears." Derpy added to Vinyl's advise.

"Ok, sounds good. Now, let's go with you Ditzy. Do you have time or do you need a foalsitter for your girls?" Bon Bon said in with a slight tone of sarcasm.

"Actually, Sparkler and Dinky are invited to Ruby Pinch's party tonight, so you can say I have free time. I was thinking about inviting the Doctor for dinner at my house. Suggestions?"

"Yeh, don't make muffins as the main course!" Vinyl laughed, but the glare of her two friends made her realize that was unnecessary. "Alright, sheesh. You spend more time with the Doctor than anypony else, you surely know what his favorite food is."

Bon Bon thought for a moment until the idea came to her. "Oh, and don't make it awkward. Talk to him about anything, just not about the obvious. Try not to sound shy, he's likely going to notice something is wrong."

Derpy smiled at her helpful friends. "Sure, I'll do that."

For at least two more hours they discussed more plans. From buying chocolate for the stroll, to sneaking in a romantic movie, to an "I love you" muffin. The number of plans and ideas the three friends came up with was very high, even if they knew that most of them weren't possible. like an idea involving moving everything to the Crystal Empire to get help from Princess Cadence. When it was clear that it was time to go so their roommates and family wouldn't notice their absence, Vinyl took six strange earrings from a small box, with every two of them decorated with a muffin, a candy and a disc respectively. She explained they would enable them to communicate with each other if they needed more help during their dates, the earrings serving as phones of sorts, and would be activated by touching them with a hoof, so if they talked quietly it would go unnoticed. Glad to see that Vinyl thought of something great once again, Bon Bon and Derpy took two earrings each while Vinyl kept the remaining ones. Testing them went smoothly. they worked perfectly. They were now ready to face the day with their perfect plan.

"Alright girls, I'll take off now. I'll talk to you before my date to check up on you." Vinyl winked before putting her glasses on.

"Alright, take care Scratch! You too Derpy!" Bon Bon looked at Derpy with a reassuring smile.

"Thanks, have a good day you two! Just be sure to remember everything we discussed!" Derpy laughed along with her friends before each of them walked away in their own direction. This plan couldn't fail them, tonight, they would get their chance and not blow it. Each of them would get their special somepony or at least find out why their feelings were not reciprocated. Hopefully the first one, that IS the plan after all.

Vinyl's Date

View Online

It was hours after lunch when Vinyl sat on the comfortable couch in her house, facing the entrance. She was waiting for Octavia, her soon-to-be marefriend, to come back from her practice. She was getting impatient and tried to look at something to get her mind off of the long wait. She looked at the shelf full of records and used her unicorn magic to levitate them closer to her to get a closer look. The first few were not relevant to Vinyl's interest, it was all just classical, calm, boring, definitely-Octavia's-kind of music. It took her minutes before getting to her interests, the good music that needed wubs and not strings. She found it amusing how two ponies with radically different tastes could pull off being such good friends since their early school days. Placing the records back where they belonged, Vinyl's sight moved to a picture hanging on the wall. It was a picture of Octavia and herself in the middle of an adorable hug in front of their house, taken on the day they became roommates, and it was ironically taken by Lyra and Bon Bon. Looking at the cute picture made her smile and remember that day.

"Wow! Are you really going to live here, Tavi?"

"Yes, Vinyl. I think it's a nice house and just what I need. But, you know, I think it wouldn't hurt having a roommate..."

"Ha, do you know anypony who might be interested?"

"Yes, I do know one, at least."

"Really? One of your band friends? Do I know them? I want to warn them before something happens..."

"Now what is that supposed to-...No, Vinyl, I didn't mean my band friends, but you DO know the pony."

"Oh, now I'm curious! Who is it? Is it Lyra? Don't tell me it's Lyra, you two are just so competitive that it would hurt."

"Vinyl, I am talking about a certain white unicorn with blue hair and a musical note for a cutie mark."

"But the only one I know with that description is me...wait, have you met my clone and didn't tell me?!"

"I'm talking about you, Vinyl Scratch!"

Vinyl laughed at herself, in hindsight she should have realized sooner with Octavia's adorable smile. Soon afterwards she found herself lost in memories again. The first time they slept in the house, the time they had a party and invited Lyra, Bon Bon, Derpy and that new pony she befriended, the Doctor, and eventually became a strangely nice group of friends, the time it was so cold they had to spend most of the day in Octavia's bed watching whatever was shown on tv, that one time where Octavia went to Canterlot for a week and Vinyl felt so lonely she talked to a picture of Octavia, and many other memories. It was all interrupted when Vinyl heard the door opening, her Tavi was here.

"I am back, Vinyl!" the grey earth pony shouted as she opened the door, not expecting her best friend to be waiting for her in the living room.

"Welcome back, Tavi!" Vinyl jumped off the couch and to her feet. "How was practice?"

"Oh, it was...productive, I suppose..." Octavia replied, confused, since Vinyl rarely asked about Octavia's practice sessions. "How was your day?"

"Oh, you know, nothing interesting. Had breakfast with Ditzy and Bon Bon, talked about stuff, listened to music, watched tv, average day!"

"I see...for an average day you seem rather happy...happier than usual, that is. Did something happen?"

"Nah, nothing. Hey, I was thinking, would you like to accompany me to the park today? I kinda want to walk today." Vinyl smiled, though deep down her mind was expecting the worst.

"Oh...sure, right now?" Octavia asked, seemingly not suspecting anything.

Vinyl was overjoyed that she didn't reject the offer. "Yes, in ten minutes actually!"

"Alright, I will be back downstairs in ten minutes then." Octavia walked towards the stairs, not noticing her best friend giggling uncontrollably. She went upstairs, looking at Vinyl one last time, and could clearly see the smile on her white face, but she either didn't want to know or just dismissed it as Vinyl just being Vinyl.

Vinyl had the chance right there, and it was waiting for her to take it. She happily opened her little box and took out her earrings, and after putting them on she put a hoof on one of them. "Girls, I'm going out in ten minutes, how are things going on your end?" she asked, hoping her friends would hear her.

"The girls just went to the party, I'm going to get the Doctor soon," said Derpy, heard as clearly as if she was there.

"Lyra went out to get snacks for tonight, everything's going good so far," Bon Bon said through the earring.

"Alright, I'll catch you just before I leave." Vinyl took her hoof off her ear and walked up to a nearby mirror. Looking at her reflection, she took a few deep breaths and started talking. "So, Tavi, you look surprisingly beautiful when the sun sets on your mane." She put a hoof to her face shortly afterwards. "Too lame...alright. Now, now, Tavi, you look just so perfectly beautiful out he-...no..." Vinyl started getting impatient at herself. "Tavi, I'll just say it right here...I lo-...I...I lov-...lov-lov-lov...ah! I can't even confess to my own reflection!"

"I am ready, Vinyl!" Octavia's voice could be heard, followed by the sound of hooves coming down the stairs.

"Oh, alright!" Vinyl quickly put a hoof on her ear. "Girls, going out now, wish me luck!"

"Good luck, Scratch!" both Bon Bon and Derpy were heard at the same time, and this gave Vinyl some confidence.

Vinyl opened the door and allowed Octavia to go outside before her. "Thanks for coming with me, Tavi!"

"You are welcome, Vinyl. Is there any particular reason you asked me to come with you?" Octavia raised an eyebrow as Vinyl turned to see her.

"No reason, I just like spending time with my bestie!" Vinyl smiled as she closed the door, thankfully her shades were hiding the nervous look of her eyes.

"We could have done so in the house..." her friend said with a suspicious look.

"Hey, no harm in doing so outside in the park, right?" Vinyl asked, trying to remain calm.

"I suppose it is alright..." Octavia finally said.

The two friends walked towards the park. Vinyl was still going through with ideas on how to confess to Octavia in her mind, but she knew she'd have to ask her friends for help sooner or later. Octavia stopped to look at a flower, a very colorful one at that, and Vinyl was about to get her to hurry up.

"...and if she stays still staring at something you don't find interesting, let her do it and wait for her." Derpy's voice seemed to be everywhere in Vinyl's mind at once.

Vinyl stood where she was and simply looked at Octavia. In her eyes, she looked beautiful, everything about her was perfect. Her mane, her eyes, her tail, her body, it was all perfect. Her accent and bow-tie could certainly be better though. Vinyl found herself getting closer to her friend, she knew she was doing it but couldn't stop herself. Eventually, her cheek met Octavia's, and this was enough to snap her out of it, but couldn't get away.

"V-Vinyl? What are you doing?" Octavia asked.

Vinyl had to think of something fast, and the first thing that came to mind was the flower Octavia had been looking at until they were cheek-to-cheek. "Uh..I was trying to see what was so interesting about this flower you were looking at."

"Did you have to come this close to me? And why does your face feel warmer?"

"No reason!" Vinyl responded, almost yelling, and backed away. "Say, are you done watching that flower? We should go before the sun comes down!" Vinyl began walking quickly, and Octavia followed.

Upon arriving in the park, the sun setting on the horizon, Vinyl spotted a bench that was perfect for the date, and ran up to it. She jumped on the bench and signaled Octavia to sit beside her, while Octavia just seemed puzzled by her friend's actions, though still joined Vinyl on the bench. Octavia saw a young unicorn filly running with an ice cream and remembered she hadn't eaten anything since she went out to practice, and her stomach began growling.

"Oh my gosh, Tavi! Your stomach is making the rumbles!" Vinyl stood up. "Never fear! Your friend DJ Pon-3 will get you something to eat!"

"Vinyl, it isn't necessary. Just let me go buy-"

"NO! I insist on going myself! You just wait here, I'll be back sooner than you can say 'Ice Cream Please'!" Vinyl said and immediately ran away.

"...Ice Cream Please?" Octavia was so confused by Vinyl's attitude that she didn't know what to say.

Vinyl managed to find a place that sold rather cheap ice creams, and she bought one for her and one for her Tavi. For Octavia, she had bought a simple vanilla ice cream with chocolate, while for herself she bought her personal favorite: chocolate ice cream with nuts. She was tempted to give it a lick right there, and was about to when she heard a squirrel nearby. She looked down to see a squirrel starring at her favorite ice cream.

"Oh, hi...you're probably interested in these nuts, huh? Well, believe me, I'd give some to you, but I'm busy!" Vinyl walked back towards the park, but the more she walked the more squirrels she heard. She finally turned around to see an army of squirrels staring at her ice cream. "Woah! No, you're not getting these nuts!" Vinyl attempted to hide her ice cream behind her, but this only made the squirrels get closer. "Get away from me!" Vinyl shouted and ran as fast as she could, protecting the ice creams from the horde of squirrels following close behind her.

Octavia had found a way to get her mind off the hunger through daydreams. Nopony could tell what she was daydreaming about, but it certainly made her happy enough to make a few adorable smiles. It was all interrupted when she heard a familiar voice screaming, followed by the sounds of hooves running. She turned to see what must have been the most amusing, confusing and jaw-dropping scenario ever.

"TAVI! NATURE IS OUT TO GET ME!" Vinyl ran across the park as the squirrels were closing in on her, forcing her to get away from Octavia, who wasn't exactly sure what was going on.

"Um, girls? I got a problem!" Bon Bon said through the earrings.

"You, don't, say!" Vinyl sarcastically replied, activating her earrings with magic.

"YOU have a problem? The Doctor needs a doctor!" Derpy said.

That phrase would have made Vinyl laugh at the irony if it wasn't for her epic escape. Knowing that the Doctor needing an actual doctor meant only one thing, Vinyl sighed. "What did you do, Derpy?"

"Nothing, I swear!" Derpy said defensively.

"Derpy, please, what did you do?" Bon Bon asked, seemingly forgetting her problem.

"...I left some...bad muffins on the table and offered one to the Doctor," Derpy replied with regret.

"Oh, Derpy. Do you still have the candies I gave you when you got sick?" Bon Bon asked with a calm tone.

"Oh, your Fix-it-all Candies! I love those things!" Vinyl forgot for one second that she was running away from hungry squirrels. "Derpy, if you got one, give it to the Doctor, he'll feel better than my fans during parties I'm invited to!"

"I think I have one somewhere...what was your problem anyway, Bon Bon?"

"Oh, yeah. Lyra rented that movie with the puppets, and she took a break to go to the little fillies' room. But my problem is, I don't know if I want to keep watching this, I just looked over my shoulder to see if there wasn't any evil puppets behind me! What do I do?!" Bon Bon was clearly afraid.

"Easy girl, easy! All you gotta do is-" Before Vinyl could finish her sentence, the squirrels got to her and made her lose her balance. She fell to the ground and her magic lost its grip on her ice cream, which fell to the ground with her, ruining it. "Oh, no!" she said to herself as the squirrels began eating the nuts of what was left of the ice cream. Fortunately, Octavia's ice cream was still safe, for the most part. Sad at the loss of her ice cream, she walked back to where Octavia had been waiting for her, hearing her friends' voices but ignoring them.

"Oh, Vinyl, what did you-...Vinyl?" Octavia saw her friend's sad face as she gave Octavia her ice cream. Vinyl sat next to her, saying nothing. Octavia now had an idea of what happened, the squirrels likely wanted Vinyl's favorite ice cream's nuts and stole it from her. Octavia felt sad for Vinyl and before tasting her so-wanted ice cream, she offered Vinyl the first lick.

Vinyl wasn't surprised, Octavia always tried to help her first instead of herself whenever she could, and Vinyl was always eager to return the favor but now that she had her chance, Octavia had once again beaten her to it. She simply smiled, tears coming out of her eyes and slightly visible behind her shades, and licked the ice cream. "Thank you, Tavi," she said as she took off her shades and wiped off her tears.

"You're welcome, Vinyl," Octavia replied as she began eating the ice cream.

Knowing Octavia would be too focused on the ice cream, Vinyl put a hoof to her ear and whispered to her friends. "Sorry about that, what's going-"

"No! Don't open that door!" Bon Bon screamed for two seconds.

"But the Doctor is inside! I have to open it!" Derpy said.

"Derpy, I don't think she means you. Alright, I'll go all in soon." Vinyl said, a bit amused, before letting go of her ear.

It was past dinner time when Vinyl and Octavia returned home. Vinyl was somewhat disappointed, the date hadn't gone as planned, mostly because she chickened out of every chance she got to confess her feelings. She didn't hear from her friends, so this gave her hope that at least they didn't have problems.

"I will go make our dinner. Please don't turn on the music this time, Vinyl." Octavia left for the kitchen.

Vinyl sat on the comfortable couch again, after a very uneventful day, save for the squirrel attack, she only wanted to relax. Deciding to ask her friends about their dates, she put a hoof to her ear. "Hey girls, how did everything go?"

"Could have gone better. You?" Bon Bon asked.

"I got attacked by squirrels...I...I couldn't do it...my plan didn't work out for me..." Vinyl's voice cracked.

"I'm sure it can be fixed, Scratch." Derpy tried to reassure her friend.

"I can't, Derpy, I'm too shy...enough about me, what happened to you?"

"I left to get one final spark of courage...I almost started crying before you called, I just can't get myself to say it!" Derpy almost began to cry.

"Well, I just gave up. Trying to confess during horror movie night is not a good idea, at all." Bon Bon said with resignation.

Vinyl looked down. She was stuck with the consuming doubt forever, and her stupid fears wouldn't let her be happy or try to be happy. She looked up to see the picture of herself and Octavia, and like if this was a sign, her mind sparked with confidence. "Ok girls, last advice of the night. We are not going to bed tonight without having our love confessed or our hearts broken. Next chance you get, DO IT!" Vinyl took off her earrings, not waiting for her friends' reactions.

"Vinyl, dinner is ready!" Octavia called from the kitchen.

"Coming, Tavi!" Vinyl took deep breaths and talked to herself. "Alright Vinyl Scratch, just, do it!" She walked towards the kitchen, where Octavia was waiting for her with apple pie and tea. Not much of a dinner but it wasn't her primary concern. She sat down in front of Octavia and they began eating, though Vinyl wasn't touching her food.

"Vinyl, are you ok?" Octavia asked, worried. It was very rare that Vinyl didn't eat after being out for most of the day.

"Tavi...we need to talk..." Vinyl had her eyes closed, though her shades hid it.

"...What happened?"

Vinyl took off her shades and looked at Octavia with her ruby eyes. "Tavi...I..." Her fears once again were getting the best of her.

"Vinyl?"

"Tavi...I...I..." Vinyl began sweating and breathing heavily as her face turned from white to red.

"Vinyl, if there is a problem, just tell me!" Octavia was definitely worried now, and was about to leave her chair and go to Vinyl's side.

Vinyl's poor heart couldn't take it anymore, and using her last bit of confidence, she finally said it. "I love you, Tavi!"

Octavia stopped, shocked by what she had heard. Her eyes opened wide and she looked like if she had seen a ghost.

"Yes, Tavi-" Vinyl began crying, bracing herself for the worst "-I love you! I always have, and always will! I couldn't tell you before because I was afraid you'd reject me, but I can't hold it in any-" She was interrupted by a hoof placed on her mouth.

"You talk too much, Vinyl..." Octavia moved her hoof away from Vinyl's mouth, a smile and a shade of red appearing on her face as tears began to appear in her eyes. "Come here, you poor filly." Octavia threw her forelegs around Vinyl as she gave her a tender, soft kiss on the lips. It was soft at first, but Vinyl, fueled by ignited joy, returned the kiss with more intensity. Octavia herself broke the kiss after a short while, smiling at Vinyl. "Vinyl...you don't know how long I've waited for you to say that."

"Tavi...you mean you...?" Vinyl asked, overjoyed.

"Yes, Vinyl. Ever since you came to my life." Octavia's smile was tearful, but only because of joy.

Vinyl was truly happy. In the end, her plan worked, and her doubts were finally gone. She finally had her Tavi with her. Pulling her into a tight embrace, Vinyl kissed the mare she had loved for so long, and to her joy, that mare was kissing her back.

Bon Bon's Date

Bon Bon stood by the big TV in her house, checking everything would be perfect for movie night. She checked the volume of the TV while watching different shows until she thought it was at a good level. She checked the screen positioning and the angle of the TV, it had to be just at the perfect angle for Lyra and Bon Bon to see the whole picture and not miss any detail. She cleaned the screen thoroughly, no particle of dust had to be on there tonight. She finally checked the couch's details. It had to be comfy enough, clean enough and well positioned for them both to enjoy the movie. She thought it was funny, it was Lyra's turn to pick the movies, and she had picked the horror genre, while Bon Bon would have rather picked action movies or comedy movies with a nice romantic subplot, but no, her roommate's favorites were the science fiction, horror and crime movies, with the romantic subplot being very low in the preferences. Nevertheless, this was the night she would confess her love to that adorably strange musical unicorn, so she had to please Lyra at least for the moment.

"Hey Bon Bon! We're out of snacks!" Lyra walked in to see her friend checking on the couch. "Uh...I'll go get some, alright?" she said, somewhat puzzled at Bon Bon's actions.

"Oh, sure, we don't want movie night to go without snacks!" Bon Bon replied, having finished checking the couch.

"Alright, the usual?"

"...make sure not to eat too much before or during the movie." Bon Bon remembered Derpy's words and thought. "Nah, just get me...chocolates and cookies," she finally said.

"Chocolate and cookies? Bon Bon, this is horror movie night, it must be done the way Celestia intended, and that is with salty, crunchy snacks!"

"Please?" Bon Bon made her face too adorable to resist, or at least that is what she hoped.

"...Oh, alright." Lyra walked towards the door. "Be back in half an hour!" she said as she opened the door.

Bon Bon wished her friend good luck as the door was closed, leaving her alone. She looked at the rented movies near the TV. None of the covers were exactly appealing to her, and titles like Foal's Play, Dead Silence and Puppet Master didn't make it better either. "Why did she have to pick toy-themed movies?" she asked aloud.

"Girls, I'm going out in ten minutes, how are things going on your end?" Bon Bon heard Vinyl talk through the earrings, and put a hoof on one of them to answer, but her pegasus friend beat her to it.

"The girls just went to the party, I'm going to get the Doctor soon," said Derpy, heard as clearly as if she was there.

Bon Bon finally had the chance to talk. "Lyra went out to get snacks for tonight, everything's going good so far."

"Alright, I'll catch you just before I leave." Vinyl's voice was suddenly cut off as well as Derpy's.

Bon Bon was happy to know she'd have her friends by her side, figuratively, through the night. She patiently waited for her marefriend, or rather, her future marefriend. She sat on the floor and looked at the door, and she spent the next ten minutes in that until her DJ friend called again.

"Girls, going out now, wish me luck!" Vinyl said quickly and almost whispering.

Bon Bon was quick to put a hoof on her ear to answer. "Good luck, Scratch!" she said, and she noticed Derpy said it at the same time. She silently laughed at this as the door opened.

"Store was empty, came out fast." Lyra walked in on her hind legs, holding bags of food with her forelegs. Bon Bon was both happy to see her and puzzled by her walking. "Got you cookies like you asked, but they were out of chocolates and-...What?"

"You're...walking like that again," Bon Bon said, not amused.

"If humans can, why can't I?" Lyra put the snacks on the couch. "It's almost sunset, wanna start the movies now?"

Bon Bon swallowed. "Of course!" she said. "Which one first?"

"How about Dead Silence?" Lyra asked, levitating the movie over to her.

The pony puppet and the decaying hoof in front of it on the cover didn't make it easy for Bon Bon to accept, but she had to. "Alright, whenever you want!" she said trying to sound ready and brave.

Lyra got the movie into the player and turned on the TV. She sat on the couch in her special, unique, "human-like" way, while Bon Bon sat like ponies are supposed to, both of them leaving the snacks between them. The movie started and Lyra smiled excitedly, while Bon Bon was already hoping it wasn't long.

Half an hour into the movie and there was already a decent amount of things Bon Bon didn't need to see all her life. Seeing puppets become possessed by a ghost and then killing ponies would surely give her nightmares, and eating half of one bag of cookies wasn't going to help her. Only Celestia could imagine her relief when Lyra paused the movie.

"Hey I gotta go to the little fillies' room, don't even think about watching more without me!" Lyra got up and trotted out of the room.

"No hurry!" Bon Bon yelled. In reality she didn't want to continue, but if it would give her the chance to get Lyra, she would go through it. She patiently waited for Lyra to come back, but during the wait the fresh memories of the movie's scary scenes attacked her mind. Suddenly there was a noise behind her, and against all possibility her first thought was that a puppet was behind her. She trembled with fear as she asked herself whether or not to look. Gathering the courage to do it after ten seconds of trembling and sweating, she looked behind her, ready to see an evil puppet, but instead saw a wall. She sighed in relief and decided to call her friends. "Um, girls? I got a problem!"

"You, don't, say?" Vinyl sarcastically replied. Apparently she was going through something as well.

"YOU have a problem? The Doctor needs a doctor!" Derpy said, which made Bon Bon silently laugh at the irony of the phrase. However the phrase meant that the Doctor was likely sick, and Bon Bon could only think of one way it could have happened.

"What did you do, Derpy?" Vinyl asked.

"Nothing, I swear!" Derpy said defensively.

"Derpy, please, what did you do?" Bon Bon asked, forgetting that just seconds ago she was scared out of her mind.

"...I left some...bad muffins on the table and offered one to the Doctor," Derpy replied with regret.

"Oh, Derpy. Do you still have the candies I gave you when you got sick?" Bon Bon asked trying to calm her down.

"Oh, your Fix-it-all Candies! I love those things!" Vinyl said. "Derpy, if you got one, give it to the Doctor, he'll feel better than my fans during parties I'm invited to!" she added.

"I think I have one somewhere...what was your problem anyway, Bon Bon?"

Bon Bon remembered her situation and her irrational fear of evil puppets returned slowly. "Oh, yeah. Lyra rented that movie with the puppets, and she took a break to go to the little fillies' room. But my problem is, I don't know if I want to keep watching this, I just looked over my shoulder to see if there wasn't any evil puppets behind me! What do I do?!" she said desperately.

"Easy girl, easy! All you gotta do is-" Vinyl's voice was suddenly interrupted.

"Vinyl? Vinyl?!" Bon Bon began to panic. "The puppets! The puppets got to her I tell you!"

"Bon Bon...?" Derpy sounded confused.

"All of you thought I was crazy, but now the movies are real! We are all doomed!" Bon Bon was clearly not in her right mind, and Derpy noticed this quickly.

"Bon Bon, you think Lyra is crazy, you are not acting any better yourself."

"She is obsessed with humans, I am obsessed with the safety of everypony! Totally different-"

"Who are you talking to, Bon Bon?" Lyra's voice was heard close to the room.

Bon Bon quickly snapped back to reality. "It's Lyra! Derpy, go help the Doctor and I'll find a way to survive myself, I'll talk to you after the movie!" she whispered quickly as she let go of the earrings, just before Lyra walked in. "Me? Nopony! There's nopony else in this house except you and me, Lyra!"

"...You're right, must be imagining things." Lyra sat next to her friend and she resumed the movie.

The movie was at a part that simply screamed "Jumpscare Incoming!" so Bon Bon, remembering her friend's advice, covered her ears and prepared for the incoming moment. However, when the protagonist was about to open a certain door, the tension was already too much to handle, and Bon Bon had the urge to yell at the TV screen.

Vinyl's voice was once again heard through the earrings. "Sorry about that, what's going-"

"No! Don't open that door!" Bon Bon yelled, but as expected the TV couldn't hear her and the moment she feared happened. Bon Bon screamed for two seconds while Lyra simply screamed for less than one.

"But the Doctor is inside! I have to open it!" Derpy said, unaware of who Bon Bon was talking to.

"Derpy, I don't think she means you. Alright, I'll go all in soon." Vinyl said, apparently amused, before stopping again.

Though deep down Bon Bon was relieved to know Vinyl was alright, her heart was racing thanks to the movie. It took her a twist ending and a confusing epilogue to calm down. Dead Silence was over, and Bon Bon was certainly glad. To her bad luck, there were 2 other movies left to watch, but she wasn't going to let Lyra know she was scared.

However, luck wasn't on her side, and through the entire second movie, Bon Bon was just paranoid. A toy being possessed by an evil pony's spirit through an ancient zebra ritual seemed like a forced situation, but Bon Bon was still jumpy because of the other movie. Thank Celestia she survived it, but now she had two scary movies in her mind, and it was already nighttime. When Lyra put the last movie in, it was the last nail on the coffin. Bon Bon didn't survive the first scary scene, and all of her repressed fear was released at once.

"AH! Stop it! Please! STOP!" Bon Bon threw her forelegs around Lyra and held her close as she trembled and cried.

Lyra was confused, Bon Bon wasn't usually the one to jump to these kind of actions. "Hey, hey, it's ok, Bon Bon." She put a comforting hoof on Bon Bon's head as she paused the movie. "It's just a movie..."

"I can't do this anymore, Lyra!" Bon Bon said helplessly. "I didn't want to watch such movies in the first place! There, I said it!"

Lyra attempted to wipe off Bon Bon's tears. "If you didn't want to watch these movies, why didn't you tell me? You know movie night's meant for both of us to enjoy it, and I can always rent other movies, it's not like we are short on bits," she said, trying to get her best friend to calm down.

"I wanted to watch whatever you chose with you. But they were so scary I couldn't...I...I just wanted you to be in a good mood tonight so that I could-" Bon Bon stopped herself before finishing her sentence.

"So that you could what?" asked Lyra, intrigued.

Bon Bon didn't answer. Her mind now had the worst case scenario, but even worse than how she had imagined. She thought Lyra would not only reject her for being a fillyfooler, but would also leave her for being a coward. Without thinking twice, she got off the couch and ran to her room in tears, away from a confused Lyra. She didn't know why, but when she was inside, she locked her door and jumped on her bed, burying her face on her pillow and crying. She could hear Lyra knocking on her door, calling for her and attempting to open it herself, but she didn't move from the bed and after a while, Lyra was gone. She finally calmed down afterwards and decided to stop the plan before making a fool out of herself again. She gave up, and decided to talk to Lyra in the morning like nothing happened, and like nothing would ever happen, no matter how it hurt her.

"Hey girls, how did everything go?" Vinyl asked. She sounded tired, but Bon Bon didn't pay attention to that.

"Could have gone better. You?" Bon Bon said, trying to sound as calm as possible.

Trying to confess during horror movie night is not a good idea, at all." Bon Bon said with resignation, her own depression not letting her try to comfort her friends.

Vinyl was heard once again, though this time, it sounded like she had been reborn. "Ok girls, last advice of the night. We are not going to bed tonight without having our love confessed or our hearts broken. Next chance you get, DO IT!"

"What? Scratch? ...Scratch?!" Derpy tried to talk to Vinyl, but no sound was coming from Vinyl's end.

Bon Bon herself took off her earrings, confused as to what to do now. After much thought, she came to the conclusion that she was making a fool out of herself simply because she gave up. Her love for Lyra pulled her through scary movies, arguments between Lyra and Octavia where Bon Bon and Vinyl were usually caught between and many awkward moments caused by Lyra's strange obsession with those creatures she called humans. She loved Lyra, and it was worth one last shot. She got off her bed, unlocked her door, and trotted to Lyra's room. She found her playing her lyre, and she seemed sad. "Lyra...?"

Lyra stopped playing the second she heard her friend. "Oh, hello Bon Bon...look, I'm sorry...I should have asked you about the movi-"

"Forget about the movies Lyra...let's just forget what happened there." Bon Bon approached Lyra and gave her a tight hug, which Lyra returned quickly.

"...I still want to know one thing...what were you going to say? You said you wanted to watch those movies with me so that you could...what?" Lyra asked.

Bon Bon looked into Lyra's golden eyes as she opened her mouth to talk. However, instead of talking, she acted. To Lyra's surprise, Bon Bon kissed her right on the lips. And to Bon Bon's own surprise, Lyra kissed her back, the initial shock only lasting a moment. After their lips parted, Bon Bon's face was a deep shade of red and her voice messy. "L-Lyra?"

Lyra herself was blushing. "Bon Bon...you really should have done this sooner."

"W-What?"

"I mean, I would have made the first move a long time ago but you didn't look like the fillyfooler type!"

"I thought you would be the one not int-"

Bon Bon was interrupted by a magic force levitating her off the floor and placing her gently on the bed lying down, and soon afterwards Lyra lied down next to her. No words spoken, they continued to kiss.

"This is really the best movie night ever!" Lyra said excitedly.

"Well, except for the nightmares I'm surely going to have," Bon Bon said jokingly.

"Aww, you poor thing. How about you let me be the Princess Luna of your dreams tonight?" Lyra asked before kissing Bon Bon's nose and cuddling with her.

Bon Bon couldn't be happier, though at the same time felt a little stupid. She was afraid for so long and now it turned out she could have had Lyra a long time ago. Her plan worked, even if it didn't do so as expected. When the night reached its middle point, the new couple had drifted off to sleep in each other's arms. Even if she was going to have nightmares, Bon Bon didn't care as long as her Lyra was with her.

Derpy's Date

View Online

It was barely an hour past lunch when Derpy Hooves went out of her room and down the stairs. She looked happily at her two daughters, Dinky and Sparkler, playing a board game and seemingly enjoying it. She began getting close, quietly so as to not interrupt their game.

"Sky...Two!" the younger, blonde-maned unicorn said.

"Aww, you found my Seagull!" the older, pink unicorn said as she removed a piece from her side of the board.

"Yay!" The little unicorn raised her forelegs in a triumphant pose.

"Hello girls!" Derpy said, now being close enough to them.

"Oh, hi mom!" Sparkler said.

Dinky hugged Derpy instead, the hug being returned quickly.

"Girls, I need to talk to you about something." Derpy sat down as her daughters listened. "Remember that, after I adopted Dinky, she wanted a big sister?"

"Yeah, that's when I came along!" Sparkler said as she put her foreleg around Dinky.

"Well...the thing is...Remember how, lately, you have been telling me that you want a daddy?" Derpy braced herself for the reaction she expected.

"OH MY GOSH, YOU ARE GOING TO MARRY THE DOCTOR?!" both younger ponies asked as they jumped excitedly, their eyes open as wide as their smiles.

Derpy blushed and smiled sheepishly. "Well, n-not exactly. I, I am just going to ask him out on a date, that's all. We-We'll see where it leads from that."

Despite their adoptive mother's answer, both Sparkler and Dinky still couldn't hide their excitement. "But mommy, the Doctor said he-" Dinky's mouth was covered by her big sister's hoof.

"When is this date?" Sparkler quickly asked.

"Um, I was going to invite him over for dinner tonight while you girls are at Ruby Pinch's party," Derpy replied.

"Oh right, the party! That's about two hours from now!" Sparkler said.

"Why when we are not here?" Dinky asked, her face showing a slight bit of sadness.

"Hey, Dinky, if we're not here that means that they get more privacy!" Sparkler replied.

"And?"

"It means that if they are alone with each other it means there's more chances of things working out!"

"OOH! I get it now!" Dinky happily said.

Her daughters talking only made Derpy feel nervous, happy, brave and confused at the same time.

***

"Have fun girls! Remember, do not touch the bottles or they can fall over and break and Berry Punch will get mad and I'll have to pay for them!" Derpy said to her daughters as they walked out the door.

"Gotcha! Good luck with the Doctor!" the younger ponies said. Once they thought they were out of Derpy's hearing range, they began hopping and chanting. "We are getting a daddy! We are getting a daddy!"

It turned out, however, they were not, and Derpy could still hear them. She merely shook her head with a smile and closed the door.

"Girls, I'm going out in ten minutes, how are things going on your end?"

Derpy was surprised to hear Vinyl's voice, then remembered she had her earrings on and decided to answer. "The girls just went to the party, I'm going to get the Doctor soon."

"Lyra went out to get snacks for tonight, everything's going good so far." Derpy was amazed at how clearly she could hear Bon Bon's voice.

"Alright, I'll catch you just before I leave," Vinyl said before the sounds from her end stopped, as well as Bon Bon's.

Derpy took a few deep breaths and opened her door. She walked out and closed it, then took to the skies and flew towards a hill, particularly towards a blue box on top of it. As she got closer, she could see how tiny and at the same time big it was. It was enough for a single pony to fit in, but she knew the Doctor lived in there. She landed in front of the blue box and knocked on the door. "Doctor? It's me, Ditzy!" she shouted. Shortly after, the door opened and a brown earth pony stallion came out to greet her.

"Why, hello, Ditzy!" the Doctor said. "Fancy meeting you today! I believed you would be spending the day off with your daughters."

"Well, they had a party to go to, so I was alone and, um..." Derpy blushed as she knew she had to ask the question. "I was thinking...Maybe...You could come over to my house for dinner tonight? If you aren't busy checking the town's clocks or travelling through time, that is!"

The Doctor laughed. "Oh, Ditzy, if I was, the TARDIS wouldn't be here right now. Ha, now about tonight..." The Doctor put a hoof to his chin, deep in thought. Derpy was ready for rejection but the Doctor was quick to nod. "Sure, let me go get my tie, alright?"

"Oh, take your time, Doctor!" Derpy said as she watched the Doctor go back inside the TARDIS. She sighed in relief knowing the Doctor agreed to the dinner. She tried to remember what her friends told her and an amazing coincidence happened as she heard Vinyl's voice.

"Girls, going out now, wish me luck!" Vinyl said quickly and almost whispering.

"Good luck, Scratch!" Derpy said at the same time as Bon Bon.

Not even a minute later, the Doctor came out wearing a green tie. "Well, I am ready now, Ditzy." He closed the TARDIS' door and looked at Derpy, both smiling at each other.

The two ponies left towards Derpy's house, the Doctor seemingly unaware of Derpy's intentions, and this was a good thing for her. The one thing she didn't want at the moment was for the Doctor to ruin her surprise. This was a surprise itself, she didn't know she was so confident, just that morning she was screaming in panic and hiding behind muffins for Celestia's sake. She hoped her friends were as confident as she was.

***

The feel in Derpy's house was friendly and cheerful. While the food was being cooked, Derpy and the Doctor were talking about any topic that came to mind. From the latest news in the Ponyville Express to how quickly Derpy delivered her latest package. The talking surely made Derpy feel less nervous, however it didn't make her possible coltfriend feel less hungry, and a low growling came from the Doctor's stomach.

"Oh, well this is embarrassing. Ditzy, do you have anything to eat before dinner, by any chance?" the Doctor asked while smiling awkwardly. It didn't feel right for him to ask for food before an arranged dinner, even if he knew Derpy didn't care.

"Of course, Doctor!" Derpy ran to a drawer and in less than a second she took out a plate of muffins and put it on the table. "Muffins! These are new, they are pear muffins!"

The Doctor's eyes opened wide and his face turned slightly paler. "Oh, pear muffins..."

"You don't like them?"

"Oh, no! No, it's NOTHING like that! Heh, I...Oh, it IS something!" The Doctor took a muffin and looked at it hesitantly. He heard Derpy happily munching on hers and he slowly got the muffin near his mouth. He swallowed and opened his mouth to take a bite of the muffin. He could feel Derpy looking at him, but to avoid letting her down, he took a big bite of the muffin. His face hardly showed any hints of enjoying the muffin as he ate it.

"D-Doctor...?" Derpy was worried something had gone wrong and moved closer to him.

"Mmm...! Muffins, they are very good...!" The Doctor said, still eating the muffin. "You can give them any flavor you want...they are good, like, blessed by Celestia good! Especially these....PEAR muffins! A very good idea!" He swallowed the muffin, finally, but his expression and pale color worsened. "...A very good idea that makes me sick!" The Doctor ran out of the room and to the nearest bathroom.

Derpy gasped and ran after the Doctor, only to find him with his face in the toilet as a really unpleasant sound came from him. "Doctor...you...you don't like pears?" she asked, afraid she had blown everything up. "Why didn't you tell me?!" She ran and sat next to him. "Why did you eat that muffin if you knew you wouldn't like it, Doctor?!"

"I...I thought that if I ate it quickly enough I would not notice...!" The Doctor went back to emptying his stomach thanks to his bold move. "Ditzy, please go get something...ANYTHING!"

"Right! Don't go regenerating on me!" Derpy ran out of the bathroom to look for any sort of medicine for the poor Doctor. Her search hadn't even begun when she heard her earth pony friend's voice.

"Um, girls? I got a problem!" Bon Bon didn't sound entirely fine either.

"You, don't, say?" Vinyl sarcastically replied. Maybe she was going through something worse.

"YOU have a problem? The Doctor needs a doctor!" Derpy said, oblivious to the irony of her phrase.

"What did you do, Derpy?" Vinyl asked.

While she liked her friends and trusted them with almost anything, she wasn't about to tell them she got the Doctor sick. "Nothing, I swear!"

"Derpy, please, what did you do?" Bon Bon asked, sounding calmer than before.

There was no point anymore, Derpy gave up and decided to come clean. "...I left some...bad muffins on the table and offered one to the Doctor."

"Oh, Derpy. Do you still have the candies I gave you when you got sick?" Bon Bon asked with a comforting tone.

"Oh, your Fix-it-all Candies! I love those things!" Vinyl said. "Derpy, if you got one, give it to the Doctor, he'll feel better than my fans during parties I'm invited to!" she added.

"I think I have one somewhere..." Derpy got to the kitchen quickly and began searching for the miracle candy. "What was your problem anyway, Bon Bon?"

"Oh, yeah. Lyra rented that movie with the puppets, and she took a break to go to the little fillies' room. But my problem is, I don't know if I want to keep watching this, I just looked over my shoulder to see if there wasn't any evil puppets behind me! What do I do?!" Bon Bon said desperately.

"Easy girl, easy! All you gotta do is-" Vinyl's voice was suddenly interrupted.

"Vinyl? Vinyl?! The puppets! The puppets got to her I tell you!" Bon Bon said with what sounded like an exaggerated fear in her voice.

Bon Bon's talking about evil puppets was ridiculous even to her, which made Derpy question her friend's grip of reality. "Bon Bon...?"

"All of you thought I was crazy, but now the movies are real! We are all doomed!" Bon Bon clearly wasn't in this reality.

Derpy rolled her eyes. "Bon Bon, you think Lyra is crazy, you are not acting any better yourself."

"She is obsessed with humans, I am obsessed with the safety of everypony! Totally different-" Bon Bon stopped talking and Derpy could hear what seemed to be Lyra's voice in the background. "It's Lyra! Derpy, go help the Doctor and I'll find a way to survive myself, I'll talk to you after the movie!" Bon Bon whispered before her voice was interrupted.

Derpy finally found the miracle candy made by Bon Bon. She rushed to the bathroom, only to find the door closed. She could hear the Doctor groaning inside and she began to panic.

Vinyl's voice was once again heard through the earrings. "Sorry about that, what's going-"

"No! Don't open that door!" Bon Bon yelled.

In her current state of panic, Derpy believed the yelling was directed at her, which only made her panic more. "But the Doctor is inside! I have to open it!"

"Derpy, I don't think she means you. Alright, I'll go all in soon." Vinyl said, apparently amused, before stopping again.

Derpy opened the door to find the Doctor lying on the floor. "Doctor! Eat this!" She put the candy inside the Doctor's mouth and made him eat it. True to what Bon Bon and Vinyl had said, the Doctor began to feel better instantly.

"My...Ditzy, that was...certainly interesting, to say the least!" the Doctor said before laughing. His laughter alone was enough to get Derpy herself to laugh.

***

Derpy had really outdone herself with the dinner. Cold carrot soup for appetizer, pan fried vegetables on a bed of lightly sautéed dandelions and light cider for the main course, and warm cocoa and strawberries for desert. She really had to thank her friend Carrot Top for letting her borrow a cooking book later. Even the Doctor was amazed, it was certainly more than enough to make up for the pear muffin incident.

Following Bon Bon's advice, Derpy talked about anything with the Doctor before it was time for the question. "I can't imagine life for the poor ponies without muffins from 3 centuries ago. It must have been a very, very boring life!"

"Oh, not at all, Ditzy! But I do agree, it was a tad bit boring compared to the present. Of course, for other reasons."

"What other reasons could there possibly be?"

"Well..." The Doctor paused, then shook his head. "Aye, let's leave it at the muffins for now."

Derpy waited until the dinner was definitely over, it was the time for her move. "Doctor...there...there is something I need to tell you." Her face turned red as her mind raced with thoughts.

"Oh, what is it, Ditzy?" The Doctor smiled slightly.

However, before Derpy could continue, the thoughts in her mind went downhill. Her daughters really wanted him to be their daddy, and Derpy really wanted to spend the rest of her life with him, but would the Doctor agree to suddenly become the father of a pair of unicorns? He liked them, that was for sure, but did he love them? Did he even love her? Or did he just think of her as a dear friend? She couldn't take it anymore. "Do you...Doctor, I..." she tried to speak.

"Ditzy, are you alright?" the Doctor attempted to calm her down, to no avail.

"...I'm sorry, I'll be right back." Derpy ran to her room before even finishing the sentence, leaving the Doctor confused. She locked the door and lied down on her bed, about to cry.

"Hey girls, how did everything go?" Vinyl asked. She sounded tired, which made Derpy think things didn't work out for her either.

"Could have gone better. You?" Bon Bon said, sounding somewhat sad.

"I got attacked by squirrels...I...I couldn't do it...my plan didn't work out for me..." Vinyl's voice cracked.

Derpy couldn't bear to hear her friend like that. "I'm sure it can be fixed, Scratch," she said, trying to comfort Vinyl.

"I can't, Derpy, I'm too shy...enough about me, what happened to you?"

"I left to get one final spark of courage...I almost started crying before you called, I just can't get myself to say it!" Derpy now really began crying.

"Well, I just gave up. Trying to confess during horror movie night is not a good idea, at all." Bon Bon said with resignation.

Derpy couldn't believe this big plan had failed all of them. She thought that maybe they were really doomed to live loving somepony they could never confess to, before her friend was heard again. "Ok girls, last advice of the night. We are not going to bed tonight without having our love confessed or our hearts broken. Next chance you get, DO IT!" Vinyl shouted with reborn courage, it seemed, before nothing else was heard.

"What? Scratch? ...Scratch?!" Derpy tried to talk to Vinyl, but no sound was coming from Vinyl's end. "Oh my...Bon Bon? Are you there? Bon Bon?!" she asked desperately, but no sounds were coming from Bon Bon's end either.

Derpy took off her earrings. There was nothing else to do, was it? Her only option now was to confess to the Doctor. She remained silent, thinking about the worst case scenario over and over again. It was overwhelming, her poor heart couldn't take it anymore. Derpy was about to cry a sea of tears when she felt a pair of forelegs holding her and the body of a stallion being pressed against her back.

"Stop crying, Ditzy..." the Doctor whispered to her.

"D-Doctor? H-How did you get in here?" Derpy turned around to find herself face to face with the Doctor.

"I heard you crying from outside. The door was locked, so I had to use my Sonic Screwdriver. You can yell at me for destroying your privacy later, but I couldn't let you cry." The Doctor tenderly embraced Derpy, like a coltfriend to a marefriend. "Are you alright?"

"...Doctor...I need to tell you something...please don't hate me for this." Derpy summoned all of her courage to say the next words. "I...I sort of have a crush on-" The Doctor interrupted her placing a hoof on her mouth. He broke the embrace and looked her in her misaligned eyes with a serious expression. It was it, the Doctor was about to reject her. Derpy's eyes watered as she prepared for the words that would destroy her heart forever.

"Ditzy Doo, or, Derpy Hooves, don't say another word." The Doctor moved the hoof on Derpy's mouth to her chin. "...Not until after this." The Doctor leaned in and kissed Derpy on the lips, much to her surprise.

After the short kiss, Derpy's heart was both calm and on fire. She attempted to speak but no complete word left her mouth. It took her a good thirty seconds to recompose herself. "D-D-D-Did you just KISS me, Doctor?!" She smiled and giggled like a little filly.

"What? Me? No, I just pressed my lips against yours, my dear," the Doctor said, about to laugh. He couldn't laugh, however, because Derpy hugged him and made him fall to the bed with her.

"I love you, Doctor. You don't know how long I have wanted to say that."

"Oh, I can get an idea, Ditzy!" the Doctor replied, adding a soft laugh.

Derpy laughed and repeated the words "I love you" many times. "That was for all the times I didn't say it!"

The Doctor kissed her again before laughing. "Are you sure you got your math right?" he asked.

Derpy smiled and rolled her eyes. "I could do it all over again if you want!" she said before repeating the three words all over again, though this time she was interrupted by another kiss from the Doctor.

"Now, Ditzy, I think you got your point across."

It had been a wonderful evening. Despite some setbacks, the plan worked. Derpy could now finally enjoy her dream, and there was nothing else in the world she would ask for. The one thing left to do, however, was telling her friends of the plan's success, but she could do it the next morning. For now, she just wanted to have that perfect moment that had only been in her daydreams until that night.

As Planned

The following morning, the three mares Vinyl Scratch, Bon Bon and Derpy Hooves were in the same restaurant they had used to plan their perfect plan, telling each other of their success and what happened afterwards.

"So guess what! Today, I woke up alone in my bed, but before I could even know where I was, Tavi opened the door and walked in with breakfast! Breakfast in BED, girls! With TAVI!" Vinyl excitedly said, her shades hiding the glimmer in her eyes. "And when she got to me, she kissed me, then she got in my bed and we snuggled! It was so wonderful, gals!"

Bon Bon could only pat Vinyl on the back. "That is really wonderful, Scratch. I hope you are happy with her." she said before talking about her day. "When I woke up this morning, Lyra was there! She didn't leave me all night! And when she woke up, the first thing she did was kissing me! It was definitely worth all the trouble from last night...except the nightmare with the dolls, but what the hay I guess, it's just a movie."

"Your mornings sound good, but try topping this!" Derpy cleared her throat. "My Doctor woke me up with a muffin, then he put it in his mouth, and then we ate it together! Muffins and the Doctor, my two favorite things in the world! I couldn't have asked for more...well, I could have asked for a little more time, he had to leave after breakfast to pick up Sparkler and Dinky at Berry's. I can only imagine my girls' happiness, they love the Doctor and now he can be their daddy!"

"Woah Derpy, that sounds serious!" Vinyl said, surprised at the last part.

"So you are going to marry him?" Bon Bon asked.

"It's too early for that! ...But I want to. We can all dream, can't we?"

"...Yeah...Oh, can I be in charge of the music at your wedding?"

"Please, they'd be better off putting Lyra, or even Octavia, in charge of that." Bon Bon smiled, as if taunting her.

"Hey, I did an awesome job at the Royal Wedding! And don't you dare put Tavi below Lyra!"

"Girls, please! Can't we just enjoy the fact we are with our special somepony?" Derpy said to end the argument before it started getting worse.

"Well, not PHYSICALLY with them...Your Doctor's likely with your girls, Octavia had to go to practice, again, and Lyra is....uh...Where is she, Bon Bon?" Vinyl asked.

"She said she had to go return the movies, but that she will be back after lunch."

"In that case, let's enjoy lunch!" Vinyl said before stuffing her mouth with her food.

Bon Bon and Derpy looked at each other and nodded, then got off her seats and hugged Vinyl, almost making her choke on her food. "Thank you, Scratch. We would have never done it without you!" they said at the same time.

"Aww, that's sweet girls, you're making me blush. Now can you please let go?" Vinyl said, though her words fell on deaf ears. "...Girls? Please let go, I'm not good with group hugs! ...GIRLS!" Her words only made her friends hug her tighter. "...Meh, fine." She hugged them back and smiled.

Unknown to the three friends, Octavia had not gone to practice, she had instead gone to the fountain, where none other than Lyra Heartstrings herself was waiting for her.

"Hello, Lyra."

"Hello, Octavia. So, how did it go?"

"You were right, Vinyl IS in love with me!" Octavia smiled. "She confessed to me last night, and I felt like my heart melted and reformed with a blazing fire inside!" Octavia closed her eyes as she lost herself in her thoughts, but quickly came back to reality. "Oh, enough about me, how about you?"

"I really should have taken your advice to rent romantic movies. Bon Bon almost had a heart attack. I thought I blew it up, but then, she came back and told me she loved me! We slept together last night! I should REALLY listen to you more often." Lyra smiled and gave Octavia a short hug, which she didn't have a chance to return.

"I'm glad things worked out for you, as well."

"Say, we should have a small party to celebrate, all four of us!"

"A party, you say? I wouldn't be opposed to the idea."

"Can I come?" a stallion said.

Both Octavia and Lyra turned to face the stallion and were surprised to see the Doctor. "Doctor?!"

"I was walking by when I heard you planning a party and wondered if I was allowed to come."

"Gee, sorry Doctor. We like you and everything, but this party's kinda just for couples," Lyra replied.

"We are finally in our respective relationships. Vinyl Scratch is my marefriend and Bon Bon is Lyra's marefriend."

"Oh, so there truly was love between you. Congratulations!" the Doctor said with a smile. "But that gives me more of a reason to come to the party. See, I have a marefriend now, none other than Ditzy Doo!"

"You're with Derpy?!" Lyra said in shock before calming down. "I knew you were close, but not that close!"

"We only got THAT close yesterday. I would tell you the details but I have to pick up her daughters. See you later?"

"Why, yes, Doctor! And we would love to hear about it!" Octavia waved at the Doctor as he walked away, then turned to Lyra. "Who would say? Ditzy, or Derpy, is now with the Doctor."

"Gotta hand it to the girl. We should totally invite them!"

"...Don't you mean 'hoof it'?"

"...One day you will see, one day you will all see." Lyra attempted to sound serious but Octavia only laughed at her statement, which made her laugh as well.

The Doctor walked until getting to Berry Punch's house, and knocked on the door. As he expected, Berry Punch opened the door.

"Oh, hello, mister. May I help you?"

"Yes, Sparkler and Dinky came to your daughter's party last night. I am here to take them back home."

"Oh, those girls. Hang on a second!" Berry closed the door and opened it again minutes afterwards, this time accompanied by the two ponies in question.

"Hello girls!"

"Hello, Doctor!" the ponies said as they jumped to his side.

"I hope they didn't cause trouble?"

"Not at all, mister! Unlike the time where they made my bottles fall over...But, that's in the past, have a good day!" Berry waved them goodbye before closing the door.

"Let's go back to your house, girls." The Doctor began walking away followed closely by the ponies.

"So, how did it go?! How did it go?!" Dinky asked.

"Perfect!" the Doctor answered.

"Oh my gosh!" Sparkler said. "Was it all romantic and stuff? Dinky almost ruined it by telling mom how you felt about her!"

"Did not!"

The Doctor laughed. "Girls, calm down! I will tell you the details later."

"So, does this mean we can call you 'dad'?!" both ponies asked at the same time.

"Well, you have been doing it for months, why would you stop now?" the Doctor said before the girls hugged him, which he returned instantly.
