A year has past since the fall of the northern city of Pendant Lakes, and Equestria is under threat of an attack like no other from an enemy that Rarity had thought to have perished along with her friend, Pinkie Pie, giving all the more reason that Ponyville's exclusive party pony is still alive.

Without time to waste, she and the rest of her friends resolved to get their friend back as they dig themselves deeper into the conspiracy of Janus, all the while trying to maintain her relationship with Spike.

And when things turn the wrong way, she could only guess what would happen next...

Sequel to my other story, Of Laurels & Lace. It's required for you to read that, or you won't understand any part of the story. Plus, the prequel still requires a lot of editing, so don't expect it to be as glorious as my more recent works.

Queer, isn't it? How life works. Every life has its own twists and turns, and to know where each twist and each turn that goes wrong is my specialty, for I'm the pony that is always there to make it right.

You might know me as the Doctor, what with my TARDIS and gizmos to make everything perfect and shipshape, all-the-round great! You have a problem, and I'll fix it. Easy as it is!

Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and as each day passes, that fearful hour approaches closer and closer, where I have to play the part of letting go.

And I don't want it to happen.

Even if I have no idea what am I letting go of.

Hearts & Hooves Day is arriving soon, and Rainbow Dash had prepared many plans to spend time with her new and special coltfriend, Taciturn Bleach. However, a small note soon found its way onto her doorstep, and it wasn't long before she had to be whisked away to attend, much to her disbelief, a funeral: the passing of Taciturn's father.

Sure enough, Rainbow soon found herself at the grand estate of Taciturn's family, despite the colt's slight whimpers. However, behind the luxury of such a wondrous home, the mare quickly realized that there was more to his life than just paintings and his carefree attitude, and beneath the solace of his home slept the skeleton in the cupboard that Taciturn had never wanted her to find.

Every pony has its secrets, but sometimes the silent ones keep the darkest secrets...

Hearth's Warming Eve was one of the many holidays where Rainbow Dash would've appreciated, with sledding alongside the rest of the Mane Six and her usual snowball fights with Scootaloo. Instead she was stuck with nursing a pony who had, much to her dismay, a few problems of his own.

Through the twelve days towards the Winter Wrap Up, however, the pony, inaptly named Taciturn Bleach, began to inspire her, only by his rare and drastic talent; one that she had found out perplexed most, if not, all of the ponies around, including her.

After all, not all rainbows have to be colorful to be perfect.

Rarity receives a formal invite to a grand masquerade down at Palgiot Palace, famed for its brilliant architecture and the occupants's eccentric family history. Taking the train to Pendant Lakes, a friendly yet unsettling town, she quickly stumbles upon the numerous guests around her, all invited by the head of the family, Winter Palgiot.

But beneath the splendor and the smiles, a tangled web of conspiracy begins to unfold, as one of the guests was found dead, strangled by the sheets of his bed. As Rarity slowly digs into the case, she quickly uncovers the dark secrets of the Palgiot family and their rise to power in Pendant Lakes that might not only endanger the lives of everyone at Palgiot Palace, but to her friends in Ponyville as well...
