On chapter progress - A new distraction has arrived: Guild Wars 2. Diablo 3 quickly lost its charm and I had thought that I'd never touch an MMORPG after quitting WoW, but my brother bought the game and let me try it out. I also played the first Guild Wars so I wanted to see what they had done with it. I enjoyed it, especially how they removed the typical tank/healer/dps roles in most MMOs. Now, the urge to get 100% completion on yet another map is starting to compete with my writing.

Double Rainboom - I know it's been out for a while, but I've only recently spotted it on youtube so I get to watch and comment on it now. As I understand, this is supposed to be a pretty big thing for the fandom: a fan made episode close to the real thing, a testament to the sheer producing power that this fandom has.

I found it...okay. Decent. I wish I could say I adored it, but no.

Positives - It looks and sounds great. The production quality is clearly its greatest strength and it comes quite close to what we'd actually see from the real show. A lot of work was put into this when it comes to animation and it does show.

Negatives - I didn't like the crossover elements. Then again, I tend not to like crossovers, especially if they're not the integrative sort, but instead rely on characters from World A meeting characters from World B. There's also an overdose of memes, many of which didn't serve much purpose. I don't like memes in general, especially when they're used to substitute for humor. The ending was a little abrupt and contrived, and the lesson of the episode as presented by Rainbow's letter to the princess, was all over the place.

The Equestria Girls Trailer - When I saw the pictures, I said that I thought the artwork was bad. After watching the trailer, I have concluded that the artwork truly is bad. Spike is apparently a dog. I do not know what happened during the production of the later seasons of MLP: FiM and now EG, but I think at some point, some of the writers suddenly developed an intense grudge against Spike, first subjecting him to "Spike at your Service" and now this. So Twilight didn't run out of her house with a piece of toast in her mouth. However, she did bump into a boy (in a leather jacket, good lord) in a typical "meet cute" fashion. Got some very bad vibes about that. The antagonist is a "queen bee" and there's a prom involved. Yeah, things are not looking up.

Speaking of the antagonist, I read somewhere that Sunset Shimmer is supposedly a former student of Celestia. I think that's a huge story potential that ought to be mined for all its worth in the actual MLP: FiM (If she shows up there) or even in EG. It will be disappointing if she's just treated as your typical queen bee bad student.

I've read a lot of good fanfics on this website and I have to say, yours is by far the most organized and overall best story driven fic of them all. It's rich in creativity, and the way you are able to express the mane six's personalities like how they would probably be in the show (or at least how I think they should be when put in the setting of your stories) is amazing. :rainbowkiss:

Keep up the good work, Visiden. You are an inspiration to not only myself, but probably many others here as well. If it weren't for you and your writing, I probably would not have the inspiration to think of and try to create my own fanfic. :raritywink:

So I figure you already had the story figured out for Upheaval but I remembered reading about how the legion was surprised about the artificial weather. How Bad Ass would it be for the pegasi to use that for large scale flanking maneuver.

Sorry just felt like the idea was too awesome not to mention, assuming you hadn't already thought of it.

I registered simply to tell you that you have created a storyline that has far surpassed its original source. Your story should become the cannon for FIM! As far as I am concerned your story is the cannon for FIM

FOR THE LEGION!

The speed of my updates depends on how much time I am able to devote to writing. Sometimes, too much real life obligations keep me from putting out a chapter.

As for another entry into the series, it's a strong possibility.

I know that you may be bugged by this, but do you have a timeline, roughly, of when your posts for Upheaval will come?  Looking back it seems that there are long spaces in between some and occasionally you post several in one day but the most common is once every week or so.  I am loving this fic and would just like to see if you have any idea on this, as I am nearly caught up with the second installment.  Also, will there be any other entries?  Again, sorry for the bother but your writing amazes me :twilightsheepish:
