When Twilight is faced with the ultimate challenge, can she overcome it by discovering what greatness truly means?
Written for the Everfree Northwest "Iron Author" contest. This story finished tied for 3rd place out of 11 different stories.
The writing prompts that we were required to follow were:
Location: Ponyville Clocktower
Theme: A loss of greatness
Object: a lunch
We had 2 hours to write a maximum of 2500 words.
Two takes on one image. The first (The Job), what Pinkie's job interview with the Cakes may have been like. The second (The Family), just an idea about how something a little more serious would play out between them. (Two quick-fics to practice writing dialogue for the Cakes and Pinkie.)
Human, 2nd person. After a day in town you make your way back home and come across a reluctant Hobo Pony. After pleading with her she agrees to let you take her in from the cold for a night. You try your best to give her everything that the street lacks in your eternal goal to leave the world a little happier.
Fluttershy goes into town to pick up a new toy, one she's been in need of for a while. She gets what she needs, but all the replicas in the world just aren't the same as the real thing.
After Scootaloo finds out Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle are going to be away for the first day of summer she has to find her own fun. At Sugarcube Corner she meets another young pegasus named Rumble who's in a similar predicament. They agree to race but after a close finish they can't agree on who actually won the race.
