Chapter 1: Prologue / Digitization

View Online

One day in Canterlot High, it’s just a normal day for the Rainbooms (them fighting monsters and Equestrian magic-cursed objects while Trixie and Starlight cheering them on). After they’re done fighting their latest opponent (a robotic dinosaur that Micro Chips invented that went haywire and attacked the school), Sunset decides that the Rainbooms, Starlight and Trixie should come over to her condo for a little gaming break to recover from their battle.

Once there, Sunset had surprised them with something they never knew she would have.

She turned her closet into her own secret gaming cave with a computer, a stash of over 50 video games, headphones, snacks and a gaming chair!

“What do you think? Is it cool or what?” Sunset said.

“It’s fabulous, darling,” Rarity replied, impressed with the details of the chair. “Ooh! Pretty colors!” Pinkie Pie squealed. “I wish I had one of those rooms,” Twilight said. “Me, too,” Rainbow Dash agreed, hiding her jealousy. “Oh, please. The Great and Powerful Trixie has seen better things than this dump.” Trixie scoffed, clearly not impressed. “Really, Trix? Sunset is a great gamer and she’s updating on her gaming equipment to make it more immersive.” Starlight butted in.

“I’m glad you all like it. I tell you what: We’ll take turns playing whatever game you like to play,” Sunset said, pulling out 10 straws (one really short and one really long straw). Trixie is then asked by Sunset if she can use her hat for her idea she’s about to reveal.

“We’ll each pick out a straw from this hat. Whoever gets the longest straw gets to try my new game cave first and the one with the shortest straw gets to try it out last.” Sunset explained, putting the straws in Trixie's hat.

The girls agree and they each take turns picking a straw (the straws also determine which game each of them will play individually; one game per girl). After they picked straws, the order went like this:

“Oh, no fair! Why does Trixie have to go last?!” Trixie complained. “Trixie demands a recount!” “Sorry, Trix, but that’s the order we settled on, so you’ll just have to wait.” Sunset responded.

And so, the girls each took their turns playing their favorite video games (snacking along the way).

Later that night...

After Trixie’s turn, it was time for everyone to get home, since it’s getting late.

“I’ll see you all tomorrow for another game-break!” Sunset said to the girls, closing the door as they left the condo.

Sunset settles herself to bed, excited for another day of gameplay with the Rainbooms, Trixie and Starlight. It was while she was still asleep, a glittering stream of magic had slipped through her closet door and turned something in the game room into what would become a gateway to a new adventure for the gang.

The next morning…

It was a beautiful Saturday morning. Sunset got up and got ready for a new day when she heard a knock on her door.

It was The Rainbooms, Trixie and Starlight at the door, eagerly wanting to enter the gaming cave again.

“Hello, I’ve been expecting you. I bet you’re wondering if you can have a turn in my game cave, you’re right on time!” Sunset said, inviting the girls in. However, when they approach the closet, Twilight immediately senses that there’s something suspicious going on in there (there’s a magic glowing outline behind the door).

“Uh, Sunset? I sense that there might be a mysterious magic surge in your cave. I think we need to rethink this idea before we do anything else.” Twilight said, concerned.

“Oh, come on Twi. It’s just the lights in the cave that are decorations. How bad can it be?” Sunset replied, oblivious to what’s about to happen next.

When Sunset opens the door, she sees that her computer is glitching like crazy!! “What happened?! My computer worked great last night!” Sunset said, panicking. Suddenly, a laser popped out of the screen, and it struck each of the Rainbooms (Trixie and Starlight too), freezing them and pulling them through the screen (like a UFO’s tractor beam) one by one. What they’ll experience on the other side is the biggest digital adventure for them all!

They end up flying through a black tube of glowing green ones and zeros. After a short while, the glowing green numbers spill out a green stream of flashing binary code symbols that covers their bodies (except for their heads and necks) like paint splashing on them, changing their bodies into something more cybernetic.

Everything went black…

Chapter 2: A Whole New World

A few moments later, Sunset groaned as she woke up and got up to her feet. “What happened?” Sunset said.

She moved around to see that she and the others ended up in a new dimension where buildings are constructed with neon purple binary code, the sky is pink, the ground is a glowing green computer motherboard, and the clouds are dark blue with computer chip patterns on them.

She suddenly notices lights shining. When she looks around, she looks down and sees that her body has changed into something digital: a red bodysuit that fused with her skin with rings on the legs, arms and their thighs (making them resemble digital light-up leotards, gloves and boots).

She then sees the others still blacked out and notices that their bodies have changed, just like her new body.

“Girls, wake up,” Sunset said, shaking them to get themselves back to reality. A few moments later, the rest of the gang wake up to see that they’re in a new world. “What is this?” Twilight responded.

Their skins are completely fused with jumpsuits that are colored after their colors (except for their heads and necks), just like Sunset (those suits are basically their skin now). They were all impressed about how they looked in their new forms.

“Whoa, this is new! I gotta add this to my next science class presentation,” Twilight said.

“I know,” Sunset replied, excitedly.

“Ooh, pink! Just like me!” Pinkie squealed, looking at her new body that turned magenta.

“I love the colors on my body!” Rainbow Dash agreed.

“Well, ah’ll be! This is unexpected,” Applejack said.

“My darlings, I might make this my inspiration for a new fashion line,” Rarity said, excited while seeing her new body.

“I wonder how Angel Bunny would think seeing me like this,” Fluttershy wondered, feeling calm.

“Well, blue is Trixie’s favorite color,” Trixie said, impressed with the color of her new body.

“I agree with all of you. This is a new change that we’ll all get used to, including me,” Starlight agreed.

They look at their new world and they are quite excited to see what cyberspace will have for them. They decide to explore the world and look at the features it has.

They walked through the digital metropolis and were impressed by the designs of the buildings. They suddenly stopped to see the map of the city with all the features it has:

The girls have set their eyes on the Cyberland Theme Park area that has the following activities and have become very excited about the things they can do there:

“I can’t wait to try out the arcade section!” Sunset said.

“There’s something that I’d love!” Rainbow Dash replied, seeing a sports/exercise section.

“Pinkie and I would love to have something to get from a food truck over there,” Applejack said, pointing at the truck parked within the area.

“They even have a petting zoo!” Fluttershy squealed.

“Don’t forget a fashion studio!” Rarity said, excited to create new designs for digital outfits.

“There’s a stage where the Great and Powerful Trixie and my assistant, Starlight, can perform a magic show or two for all the friendly inhabitants of this world!” Trixie said, speaking in confidence and impression.

“I wish I could choose any movie we want to see,” Twilight said curiously.

Suddenly, they could feel a glowing/tickling sensation in their bodies. They found a source of the glowing: their bodies also have rings that line up with their legs, their arms and their thighs. They realize that whenever they feel satisfied with whatever they’re doing, the rings light up like LED lights, making their bodies glow.

“Weeeee! I’m glowing! Pinkie said, giggling about her tingly sensation.

“We’re all glowing, too!” The others replied, laughing along.

“Let’s go and have fun!” Sunset shouted in excitement.

“Yeah!” The others agreed.

Once the glowing fades, the gang has calmed down and have decided to go to the Cyberland Theme Park but are beginning to wonder how they’re going to get there.

“We’re too far away. How will we ever get there?” Trixie asked.

Twilight sees a building that looks like a transportation center, which of course is where they decide to go.

Once inside, the building has a series of vacuum tubes that light up and a receptionist desk. The visitor would approach the receptionist, Mr. Porter, who would check them in for a digital vacation. He also hands them cyber passes, ID cards that take them somewhere they want to go with a swipe and have them pay for anything they want (as long as they have enough cyber-credits left).

The girls walk towards Mr. Porter’s desk. “Hello, fellow humans. I see you're all getting used to the environment in this world,” he said, feeling very welcoming.

“Nice to meet you too,” They greet back, shaking the guy’s hand.

“Welcome to Cyberspace!” Mr. Porter asked, just in time for a robot to fly in and take a pic of each of the girls. It then prints out cyber-passes for each of them (a picture of the girl for each card). They realized that they could use them to make their time in cyberspace more luxurious and more interactive.

“Enjoy your stay.” Mr. Porter said, kindly.

“Thank you,” the girls replied.

The girls then walk into the tubes (1 girl per tube). Once inside, they see a wheel outside with a card slot in the center with the following options:

Each of them set their wheels to the Cyberland Theme Park option, one swipe of their cyber-passes has their tubes lights up and flies them through like a vacuum. Off they go to the Cyberland Theme Park.

Meanwhile…

Up past the sky in the clouds is an airship that is occupied by an evil sentient computer virus (resembling Sunset’s demon form) that is looking over the Equestria Girls as they are doing what they are doing, while petting her pitbull.

“How did those humans get into my world?!” the virus said, surprised. “Aw, it won’t matter. I’ll take the energy from all over the Cyber World, so I’ll make myself queen!”

Later that night...

After their day at the park, the rings/lines on the girls start glowing indigo. Instantly they start to lose their appetite for fun and feel bored.

“That sure was fun. I loved that food truck! What we chose on the menu today made us feel stuffed!” Pinkie Pie shouted, excitement slowly turning to monotone boredom.

“Trixie’s favorite part is the magic show simulator. Trixie had never thought that she would be a star in this world,” she said, feeling like she’s running low on energy.

“Let’s just go back to wherever our vacation home is.” Rarity butted in, all bored out of her mind.

“Yeah. It’s time we hit the hay and get ourselves set for a day of fun tomorrow,” Applejack agreed.

They go to the tubes that they used to go to the Cyberland Theme Park. Once they enter their own tubes, they set the wheels to the hideout section, swiped their cards and the tubes sucked them through until they landed in their destination.

Once they land in their vacation home, they see that there’s 9 sections (each customized to fit their needs).

Once they arrived in their sections, they were all immediately so impressed with what they each had. In fact, Sunset started jumping with joy. Of course, yellow lights instantly started shining and she ended up enduring another tickling.

“Stop!” Sunset said, falling to the ground, laughing her mouth off and kicking her legs in the air.

Once the lights died out a few moments later, they decided to just settle down and sleep, waiting patiently for a new day of digital excitement.

It was later that night when there were more people keeping themselves hidden somewhere in the girls' hideout.

Chapter 3: The First Battle

The green motherboard-lined sun rises in the sky and shines its yellow rays of bright binary code. That means it's a new day for the Equestria Girls! Another day, another opportunity! The alarm clocks sound on in each section of their hideout. The girls wake up ready for another day of exploration and fun.

“How did everyone sleep?” Sunset asked, yawning.

“It was pretty peaceful for all of us,” Fluttershy said.

“I wonder if Sweetie Belle would’ve loved to be here,” Rarity said, feeling anxious.

Just like that, Rarity’s body starts glowing orange, the rings making her vibrate like a vibrating chair and a big, pixelated, rapidly beating heart appears on her chest.

“It’s okay, Rarity. I’m sure Sweetie Belle is fine. We’ll just have to focus on what we are all part of now.” Fluttershy promises, cheering Rarity up.

With that, the orange lights turn off and Rarity is no longer vibrating, and the heart disappears. “Thanks, darling. I don’t know what we would do without you.” Rarity said, all calm.

“How about this, since this is our second day here in Cyberspace, let’s all visit all the places in the city,” Rarity suggested.

“We’re in!” Everyone agreed.

Before the group can leave, they suddenly feel a rumbling crash outside of their hideout. They checked to see where it came from. It turns out that there’s a demon virus that is wreaking havoc in cyberspace, draining the energy from anything in her path.

“What is that thing!?” Fluttershy asked, scared.

“It looks like a giant creature is attacking and draining everything in this area.” Sunset said, before her empathic powers activated itself. It flashes back to the time Equestrian magic seeped in through her window and infected her computer in her game room. She snaps back to reality in realization.

“I think I know what made that creature. A stream of Equestrian Magic made a virus that infected my computer and it formed into a demon that is out to destroy Cyberspace!” Sunset explained, panicking.

With that, Fluttershy and Sunset start to notice the effects of being scared in the digital world; purple lights on their rings flicker on, giving them ice-cold air blasts to their body.

“Don’t worry everyone. We’ll take on that creature. You stay put with Starlight and Trixie,” Twilight instructed.

“Okay” Sunset Shimmer and Fluttershy said in unison.

With that, the others activated their geodes and got ready for battle.

Unfortunately, the demon came prepared! Applejack used her super strength to punch the creature back, but she phased through it, like a ghost!

Rarity puts up a shield to protect Fluttershy, Sunset, Trixie and Starlight. The demon has blasted Rarity's shield away into nothing with a small fingerbang blast of binary code!

Twilight lifts one of the boxes of their warehouse/hideout with her telekinesis and flings it at the enemy but it bounces off instantly without even hitting the body.

“That’s impossible! How is it able to withstand our attacks?!” Twilight said, shocked.

Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash were about to step up when suddenly, a blast of digital data came flying by and hit the demon, effectively hurting her and leaving her to retreat.

“Whoa! Where in Celestia’s name did that come from?!” Twilight said, seeing wherever the blast came from.

It turns out something (or someone) who blasted the demon away was a random teenager, hiding in the girls’ hideout.

The teenager being a brunette-haired teenage girl in yellow.

The girls lower themselves and confront the teen.

“Who exactly are you?” Applejack asked.

“...and what are you doing in our hideout?” Rainbow Dash replied, thinking that the teen is an intruder invading the hideout.

“You may not believe what I am about to say, but I’m Rachel. That hideout is actually mine. I’ve been stuck here for 9 years.” The woman spoke.

The girls just stood there, with expressions of complete shock and utter disbelief.

Chapter 4: Meeting Rachel

“9 years?!” Pinkie Pie shouted in disbelief. “Well, what a shocker,” added Twilight.

"I know, right!" Rachel said in response.

"Well, um, it's really nice to meet you," Fluttershy said, stepping up to her and shaking hands with her.

"Wait, hold on! How did you manage to survive here?" Applejack asked, curiously.

"Well, I'm certainly not alone. I have a lot of help. You want to meet my friends?" Rachel asked. Of course, the girls were ecstatic to meet her friends.

"Um, sure," Fluttershy said, sheepishly.

"We're in," The others replied.

Back at the hideout, Rachel is just bringing out her "friends" for the gang to meet. One-by-one, they come out into the light.

The girls are all impressed to see them at first sight. They all introduce themselves to the group.

After the introductions were over, Rachel continued. “That’s not all, everyone!”

“Come on, Dar. Come here, boy. Here, boy.” she said in a cooing tone, kneeling down.

A beagle who came instantly, barking kind barks and approaching Rachel. She then pets the dog.

“Meet Darwin, everybody. He’s my pet beagle,” Rachel said, introducing her pet dog.

“Oh my gosh!” Fluttershy said in sudden joy. She approaches the beagle and pets it. The dog is adored. What they both didn’t expect is that Fluttershy’s geode magic is spreading on Darwin. After a while, Darwin actually spoke.

“Awww, you’re too kind.” Darwin said, covering his mouth with his paws, shocked by what he just did. “What’s going on?”

Fluttershy noticed. “Um, long story short: I have the power to communicate with animals and they can understand me,” Fluttershy explained, sheepishly.

Sunset steps in. “Allow me to explain who we are,” she said, prepared to tell the story of herself, her friends and how they got to cyberspace.

A few moments later...

“…and that’s how we ended up in this world.” Sunset said, finishing her story.

Rachel, Darwin and the gang were all immersed in the story. “It sure sounds like you all have a great life back in the real world,” Ryan said, disappointed in what he and the others are missing out on.

“Don’t worry, Ry. We’ll find a way back to the real world.” Mary said, stepping in and confronting Ryan.

“If you’re wondering why we came here, let us tell you exactly what happened and how we ended up here,” Don offered, yawning.

“Oh, do tell. Trixie is pleased to hear about your story,” Trixie said, curious to learn.

9 years earlier...

“My friends and I were young elementary schoolers, and we were working on our own homework projects at their own home. Darwin was just a puppy that I let sit on my lap back then. We were almost done with our projects when suddenly, the screens started flashing to the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) that flickered into some kind of monster that looked exactly like the one you were all fighting against. Our computers turned us into digital data and sucked us through.”

“...and that’s how we ended up here.” Emily explained, finishing the story.

“Oh, my. I’m sure your families have been worried sick about you,” Rarity said, concerned.

“I know they all miss us for sure. We have been trying to find the way home ever since, but we couldn’t find any clues to help us,” Don said, feeling sad.

“Don’t worry. We’ll all help you find your way home, but first we have to find a way to beat that demon and save the electronic grid,” Sunset said.

“Aw, thanks,” Rachel said.

“Gagagee,” Mike said, babbling.

“We have to think of a way to defeat the virus,” Starlight said.

“I am all about action here, so count me in!” Rainbow Dash replied, determined.

During their brainstorming session, they suddenly hear an unexpected noise that startled Darwin and Fluttershy.

“What was that?” Darwin and Fluttershy said, in fear. Of course, Fluttershy gets her body blasts of ice-cold air.

They all approach the source, but it turns out the noise was Spike!

“Oh, Twilight! I was worried about you. I’ve been looking all over for you, you haven’t come home,” Spike said, worriedly.

“We were at Sunset’s condo and suddenly we found ourselves here. Let me tell you more.” Sunset said.

A few moments later...
“Oh, yeah. I knew I saw something strange on your computer, Sunset!” Spike exclaimed after hearing Sunset’s story.

A few hours earlier...

Spike was just going around waiting for Twilight to come home, but she hasn’t come home at all. “Oh, where did Twilight and the others go? I’m really worried about them. Perhaps, I’ll have to look for them myself,” Spike said before leaving to look for his owner.

Sometime later during his search, He sees a strange light coming from the window in Sunset’s condo.

“What's going on in there?” Spike said, concerned.

Spike then enters the condo and goes to the source of the light. He sees that there’s a Sunset demon monster on her computer screen. Before he could get out, the computer shot a laser that scanned Spike and pulled him in.

“I sure am glad that I found you all!” Spike said, feeling relieved to see that his owner and friends are okay.

“Who are they?” Spike asked, having set his eyes on Rachel and the gang.

“They’re our allies; Rachel, her dog (Darwin), and her friends. They’ve been trapped here for 9 years.” Sunset explained.

“Wow. I can’t believe it!” Spike exclaimed in surprise.

"Um, hello? We have to focus on how we are going to beat the demon and get all of us back home." Fluttershy and Emily said in unison.

"Yeah, we kind of got carried away," Pinkie said, sounding silly.

...and so, they continue to think of how to beat the virus and get themselves and their new friends back home.

To be continued...
