Sunset Shimmer walked through the hallways of CHS. She hummed a little tune to herself as she went to visit her friends in the cafeteria. Sunset walked in to see Pinkie frantically waving at her to have a seat.

"Hi, girls," Sunset greeted her friends as she sat down.

"Hello, Sunset," Rarity began. "The girls and I were just discussing what we should do this weekend. I say we should go to the mall."

"You always want to go to the mall," Rainbow Dash said with an eye roll.

Rarity wore an expression that hinted that she was insulted. "Excuse me for my fashion sense! It's not like you don't always suggest your idea is much better than the rest!"

"That's because it totally is!" Rainbow replied. "So I was thinking we could all go to the beach and catch some waves! It's gonna be totally awesome!"

"Um, excuse me," Twilight spoke up. "I was maybe thinking we could go to the museum."

"What?! There's no way I going to a museum and die outta boredom!" Rainbow retorted to Twilight's idea. Twilight winced at her reaction, regretting her decision to speak up.

Rarity shot Rainbow an icy, cold glare. "Twilight's new to our group, and after all she's been through, we should make here feel comfortable, and that means we're all going to the museum."

"Ugggh! Fine," Rainbow rolled her eyes, obviously irritated.

"There are a lot of interesting things at a museum, Rainbow," Twilight said in an attempt to cheer her up. "Like vampires, if you like them."

"Vampires?" Rainbow's attention was caught. "Why would vampires be in a museum? Aren't they made up or somethin'?"

"Well, there's been quite a history with them. A lot of people died because they were accused of being a vampire. I think they even have skeletons of the people who were killed," Twilight replied.

"Cool!" Rainbow said. "Let's do it!"

"Finally, she agrees with something," Rarity said.

"Alright then, it's settled. We'll go on Saturday," Sunset said, making it official.

Sunset slung her bag onto her shoulders. She checked her phone and saw a text from Applejack saying they were ready to go. Sunset went out of her apartment and saw Applejack's truck parked up on her street. She ran towards it and went inside. Sunset sat between Fluttershy and Twilight.

"Let's get started!" Rainbow said.

Sunset wore a shocked expression. "Wow, I've never seen you excited about going to a museum. I thought you hated history."

"Yeah, but I've been thinking what Twilight said. I was thinking of maybe catching a real vampire!" Rainbow replied.

"Rainbow, you know you're not a little child. There are no such thing as vampires," Sunset wore a bemused expression.

"But Twilight said they were real!" Rainbow pointed out.

"I didn't say they were real, I just said that they had a history here. People accused them of being vampires, but nobody knows for sure if they actually were. I'm pretty sure they aren't real," Twilight said.

"Say that to the proof on my phone when I get a picture," Rainbow said, still believing vampires exist. "Aren't you even a little excited about vampires, Sunset?"

"Not really. Vampires don't even exist in Equestria, nopony knows what they even were there, so why would they exist here? This world is a counterpart to Equestria," Sunset said.

"That still won't prove that vampires don't exist!" Rainbow said.

Rarity rolled her eyes. "That's just Rainbow Dash. Stubborn and strong."

"Look, we're here!" Twilight pointed her finger to a large building to their right.

"Come on, y'all," Applejack said, opening the door. Each girl stepped out and headed to the building.

Rainbow rushed in and barged loudly through the door. "Okay, where are the vampires!" Everyone inside stared at her. Some even glared at and held a finger to their lips, shushing. Rainbow immediately felt a little embarrassed about her sudden outburst.

"The exhibit is this way," Twilight said. The girls followed her.

"This is it," Twilight pointed to the displays.

"So cool!" Rainbow said, scrunching up her face.

"I have to ask you Rainbow, what did make you like vampires? I know it's not just your sudden interest."

"Okay, I'll tell you. When I was little, I was fond of everything fictional. So one day, I stumbled on this real cool comic book. It told me everything about vampires. Ever since then, I always had an interest in unusual things. I guess I still have that childish interest in me," Rainbow explained, looking a little embarrassed.

"It's fine, it's what you like. But I'm not really sure I'm into vampires. They sound kind of stupid to me," Sunset said, unimpressed. She looked around the dead bones of a skeleton.

"Well, I-" Rainbow got cut off suddenly.

"It seems like there's ah blackout," Applejack observed. "Just stay calm, everybody. Ah'm sure they'll get it fixed."

Suddenly, Sunset felt a sharp pain in her body. It felt like it burned through her skin. She fell on the floor. The last thing she heard was her friends' concerned voices.

...

"Sunset? Sunset? Sunset! Are you okay?" Someone was shaking Sunset so fast and hard it made her head spin.

"Calm down, Pinkie, you're spinning her head," Sunset recognized that voice as Applejack's.

"Ughh," Sunset moaned as she got up. "What happened?" She scratched her head.

"You suddenly fainted on the floor during the blackout. Are you okay? We were worried about you," Fluttershy replied.

"I-I'm fine. I just felt a cutting pain on my-" Sunset instantly stopped. She felt two sharp cuts on her neck. Sunset let her hair slide down to the other side, exposing her neck to the girls.

Rarity gasped. "Sunset-"

"It's a vampire bite! Vampires are real!" Rainbow pumped her fist in the air in victory. Then she blinked, and said, "aww man, I didn't get a picture!"

Rarity shot a glare in Rainbow's way. Rainbow looked sheepish, and said, "I mean, are you okay, Sunset?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. But I still don't believe it," Sunset replied. "It definitely couldn't have been a vampire, could it? And what if that person, that thing that bit me is coming after me? And what if this bite could kill me?" Sunset started to panic, her eyes went wide and sweat slid down her face.

"Sunset, darling, you'll be alright. We're here to help," Rarity assured. She tried her best to comfort her friend, but she too was very worried for Sunset.

"I think we should ask Twilight from Equestria if she could help," Fluttershy suggested.

"No, that won't work. I said that vampires don't exist in Equestria, she won't know what a vampire even is," Sunset said.

"Perhaps we should wait, maybe then we could figure out something," Rarity said. "I'm sure it's harmless. I mean, in the books I've read, vampire bites don't kill a person."

"But that's a book, Rarity! It's fictional, how can we even tell that it's real?" Sunset pointed out.

"Well, it's the only thing we've got now," Rainbow said. "Welcome to vampirehood, Sunset."

"So, what are you gonna do now?" Rainbow Dash asked her friend, Sunset Shimmer.

"I don't know, Rainbow, I don't know," Sunset looked at the ground. It seemed like it came all of a sudden. She was just a normal, harmless girl who likes to hang out with her friends, and then she just became a vampire. Just like that. It was unbelievable. It was hard for Sunset to digest it all. She shook her head at it.

"I... I don't know what to feel. It's just all so shocking," Sunset said.

"Looks like you have to get used to it, huh?" Rainbow playfully elbowed her friend. Sunset warmly smiled at her. At least she still had her friends.

Just as she was walking, something caught her eye. Sunset stood there, trying to figure out what it was.

"Sunset? You comin'?" Rainbow snapped her out of her trance.

"Sunset blinked. "What? Oh, yeah, I'll there in a minute."

"'Kay, see ya there!" Rainbow went on her way to the big doors of CHS.

Sunset walked over the shadow near the trees. Just as she was approaching, it suddenly whisked away into thin air. Sunset blinked, shaking her head. "Huh, I thought I saw something," she said to herself. She shrugged, and began to run to her friends, but before she could, something grasped her ankle and pulled her into the bushes. Sunset yelped as she got pulled in.

"What the... Hey! Who are you?!" Sunset demanded to know.

The shadowy figure revealed itself in the sunlight. It was a cloaked woman with raven black hair and violet eyes. Sunset could see she had fangs sticking out from her mouth.

"Who are you?" Sunset asked again.

"I am The Vampire Queen," she answered. "You were the first vampire in centuries to be born. Our kind is dying after centuries od being hunted, and you were just the perfect little thing that happened. I've sensed your strength, you have very strong power. By using that power to harvest blood, we can restore vampires to the land. What do you say, daywalker?"

"I... I..." Sunset stuttered. She gave herself a little shake, and said, "no! I can't help you take away lives of others, I just can't."

"Alright then, have it your way, little vampire," with that The Vampire Queen whisked away into thin air. In the place of where she stood, there was a little bottle filled with red liquid.

Sunset stared at it hungrily. Her stomach was growling, and she didn't have breakfast because she couldn't eat normal food. Sunset hated it, but she knew she had to drink it. She didn't want to risk hurting her friends. Sunset reached for the bottle and hesitantly brought it to her lips and drank. The blood tasted so sweet and good, she craved for more. After finishing the bottle, Sunset felt the need for more. She stared at the necks of people passing by. Their juicy, delicious necks filled with sweet, tasty blood. "No!" Sunset rubbed her eyes and gave herself a hard shake. "Stop it! Get yourself together, Sunset."

She ran to the school building before she could think of blood again. In the middle of the hallways, she could see her friends chatting together, having a group discussion. Sunset was thankful to clear her mind off of that weird conversation with The Vampire Queen. "Hey girls, what's up?" she approached them.

"Why, hello there, darling. I and the girls were just discussing how to help you with your, um, new adjustments. We were all thinking one of us could donate blood for you for each day of the week," Rarity replied.

"That sounds great," Sunset said. She tried to hide the fact that she hated it. Hated having to take blood away from her own friends. She felt like a monster.

"Okay, see ya after school," Applejack waved as all the girls departed and went off their own ways.

Sunset walked away slowly. She sighed. Well, now she had her first drink of blood, she had to get adjusted to her new life. But Subset swore to herself, never will she ever go cannibal on a harmless, innocent soul and suck their blood away until their dead. As Sunset walked through the hallways of her school, she felt as she was being watched.
