Prologue: Change of course

The cold vacuum of space is an infinite span of nothing. It fills the great voids between the stars and the many planets of the universe. It is an inhospitable place for all forms of creatures, no matter how powerful or where they came from. The only way to travel through the deadly gap of nothing was by the use of specialized vehicles. The vastness of the universe is still unknown by all forms of intelligence, since no technology is powerful enough to be able to see the end of it. No creatures are able to travel through space either; except for one.

In the darkness, a lone ship flew through the quiet void; its large, metal frame outlined by the very faint light from the many stars of the galaxy. The massive machine flew at 14,000 miles per hour through the gravity-free space. Inside of it, the long hallways were quiet, giving off an almost eerie ring to the air. Suddenly, the silence was broken from a strange sound.
A purr.

purr

This purr was not like a normal cat, but more like a demonic lion. The noise was mixed with a series of clicks that reverberated in the silent hallway. Then, a pair of yellow eyes lit up, seemingly out of nowhere. They looked down the empty corridor, scanning the walls and the floor below it for anything that could lead it to its target.

Seeing nothing, the eyes disappeared in the air. Then, a strange blur seemed to move through the air, giving off the faint outline of a tall creature, standing about seven feet tall, and walked on its hind legs. The cloudy image suddenly began to materialize, becoming more solid, until the entire animal was completely visible. The sight revealed was one to cause the weak of heart to flee.

The beast walked upright off the ground with its back legs. Its front limbs hung down its side, and were finished with hands tipped with curved claws. It entire body was covered in a mix of brown and golden scales. On top of the shoulders it bore strange, blue and black armor, which had straps wrapping around its chest, leading to the waist belt it had on filled with gadgets. Its wrists bore large mechanical bracelets that traveled up to its elbows. Topping off the creature was a large blue helmet which blocked its face from being exposed. Coming out the back of the helmet was a bundle of cable dreadlocks.
The body belonged to a species which had the ability to hunt down most targets without ever being detected. It was a being born to be a killer. Its goal was to prove it was the ultimate warrior.

It was a creature known as a Predator.

Walking down the empty corridor, the Predator creature looked into the room where the disturbance was heard. Glancing inside, it noticed many glass jars containing large, grayish purple eggs kept in a yellow fluid. It then looked over to the large sphere eight feet across and saw that its fears were correct; the animal in which was to be brought back alive for studying, had escaped.

Quickly leaving the storage room, the predator reactivated its cloaking device, once again turning into a simple blur as it moved, nearly blending in perfectly to the background behind it. It knew it had to find the creature quick, since his companions were still in stasis for the journey back to their home planet.
The hunter knew that facing his target alone would be a problem if he could not locate it before his crew members woke up. He had been charged with keeping check on the ship while they rested, and if they found out he had allowed their target to escape, his punishment would be severe.

A sudden clanging of metal rang through the ship. The hunter quickly began the trek towards the direction of the sound. As he came around the corner, his helmet switched its settings to motion sensors, giving his vision a light blue tint as he scanned the hallway. A sudden blur rushed through the control room ahead.
The predator flipped a switch on his right wrist, causing a pair of foot and a half blades to shoot out of the pack connected to his arm. He walked through the doorway, looking around the large circular room lined with electronic monitors.

He walked towards large table that was in the center the room. Suddenly, his sensors picked up the sound of nails scratching against metal. Looking up, he sees a dark body dropping from the ceiling towards him. Reacting in the last moment, the predator jumps out of the way before he is crushed. Standing up quickly, he sees the creature he was searching for. The black alien stood up from the spot it had landed. At over eight feet tall, it was slightly taller than its captor. Its long, skinny limbs were all tipped with curved claws. Its near skeletal like frame swayed back and forth as it stared at the predator despite having no physical eyes.

The predator deactivated his cloaking device, knowing the creature could smell him despite being unseen. He knew it was going to be a challenge since he could not take the risk of firing his shoulder cannon inside of the control room. He watched as the long, flicking tail of the creature was pointing the swordlike tip at him, twitching to kill.
In a split second, the giant alien charged the predator on all fours, screeching as it sprinted against the metal floor. The predator charged as well, lowering his body to shoulder check the alien. Both creatures were now locked in a pushing match.

The alien then reached its long arms under the predator, lifting it up and tossing it several feet. It then ran over to the fallen warrior, jumping on top of it and pinning it to the ground. It then opened its large mouth, which spread wide, revealing a smaller mouth on the end of a long tongue. The tongue shot out towards the predators throat, but was stopped by the left hand of the hunter. The predator then repositioned itself and thrust the blades on his right hand through the head of the alien. The creature immediately stopped moving as the serrated blades cut through its brain.

Rolling the dead alien off himself, the predator stood up, brushing the drips of alien blood that had fallen on himself. The drips fell onto the floor, sizzling as the acidic liquid ate through the metal. Thanks to genetic engineering, the predators had become immune to the blood of the creatures they hunted, which came in handy-

POP!

The predator squealed in pain as a long tail skewered his back and exited his chest. Blood poured out as he felt himself be tossed to the side of the room. Gasping for air, the injured hunter looked up to see another alien standing there, drool hanging from it's hissing mouth. Somehow it had stowed away on board without ever being detected. The towering black creature began to walk towards the downed predator, it's second mouth slowly coming into view from the long tongue. Knowing he was going to die, the predator targets his red lasers at the control room window, and fired his cannon.

The glass gets shattered from the blast, followed by the powerful vacuum suction from the pressure free outside world. Both predator and aliens get ripped from he room and blasted to the darkness of space. The ship security system activates from the blasted window, immediately going into lock down. Metal plates close over the hole, sealing off the ship. The security doors to the control room lock up , not allowing anything to tamper with the codes. Switching to autopilot, the ship turns itself, redirecting its course to the nearest hospitable planet.

The War Comes Home

The sky was bright and sunny over Canterlot, the capital city of Equestria. The streets were bustling from activity from the many ponies walking around, enjoying a stroll through the streets or stopping at the many shops lining the sidewalks. Everything seemed normal for the many citizens of the great capital. Today, however, there was a lot more ponies than usual in the Canterlot courtyard.

A large number of ponies of all ages were formed in a very long line on the grass. Every single one of them had a book in which they carried in their hooves or in a bag on their side. Some ponies were simply reading the book they had to kill time, while others were hopping up and down uncontrollably from excitement as they slowly crept forward in the slow moving mass. The line stretched over 300 ponies long, leading to a table set in the middle of the field.

At the table sat a female Pegasus with a sandy brown coat. Her mane and tail consisted of several different shades of gray. Besides the compass rose cutie mark she sported on her flank, she wore a green khaki vest over her upper back. Her gray and green safari hat was placed on the side of the table next to another pile of books, which all had her picture on the front. She was perhaps one of the most famous Pegasus in Equestria because of one simple series. She was the greatest archeologist to have ever lived in the last fifty years. Her name was one that every pony had heard at least once in their life.

She was the great.

The brave.

She was…

“Daring Do! Oh wow, it is so great to finally meet you!” A young pink unicorn yelled out, slamming his book on the table.
Daring Do smiled back at the filly, pulling the book towards her, seeing the cover “Daring Do and the Quest for the Sapphire Stone”. Daring tried to keep her smile on, despite the thoughts going through her head, ‘great, she has read the first story to a bunch of different lies.’

Not wanting to disappoint the happy unicorn, she flips open the book and signs the first page. After she was done, she closed the cover and hands it back, “Here we go, and I’m glad you enjoyed the story.” The unicorn squealed in delight as she levitated the book and ran off, cheering out her accomplishment. Seeing children happy did always make Daring happy.

Another pony walked up to the table, a middle teen earth pony. He pulled out his copy of the book, handing it over to the explorer, “Miss Do, could I ask you a question?” saying it in a quiet, almost embarrassed tone.

Daring smiled at him, “sure, what is it?”

“I heard that you will be going on an expedition to the desert soon. Is that true?”

Daring felt a spark of warmth inside of her; this was the first pony of the day to ask her about what she really did, “Why, yes I am. I will be looking for-“

“OH! Awesome!” the young male cut her off, now yelling out in excitement, “When will that story come out!?”
The little spark sizzled in Daring’s chest, seeing that this pony was no different from the rest. Frowning, she pulled the book closer and signed the page,

“You’ll just have to wait and see.” She said with a small hint of frustration.

The pony smiled, grabbing his copy and moving out of the way. Glancing up, Daring shouts out a word she had lost count of using that day, “Next.”

As the day went on, Daring Do could feel her head becoming sore from so many cheers, books and questions thrown her way. Every time a pony came up to the table, Daring felt her eyes become heavier from a mix of boredom and annoyance. None of these ponies cared about her real career; all that they wanted was their fake adventure stories signed, or some snapping a quick photo of Daring Do.

She never enjoyed these book signings she attended. She didn't even write the stories, but the author knew that people would rather see the character the books are based on than the pony that wrote them. Not wanting to make the many fans of her stories upset, she would force herself through the days of autographs and shoving from all ponies following her tales.
Some towns she didn't mind visiting since there was only a small number of fans, but she always despised having to come to Canterlot; the wave of excited fans seem to never end, always growing from more and more ponies showing up. She could feel her hoof getting sore from so much writing from that day, and she still had another two hours of signing.

She began to drift into a dreamlike state as she automatically signed the incoming books. Her head began thinking of being in a quiet temple, looking for old artifacts. Places like that was where she truly enjoyed being instead of a crowded city.
Her daydream was all of a sudden broken from an enormous thud from a tall stack of books slamming into the table, “What the-”

The pile stood nine books tall, all different stories of her. From behind the pile came the head of a cyan Pegasus with a bright rainbow colored mane. The females bright eyes gleemed in excitement at Daring, making her a little uncomfortable, “Uh, hi there…” Daring forced out with an awkward smile.

“Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!” the blue Pegasus blurted rapidly, “I can’t believe I am actually meeting Daring Do!”

Daring couldn’t hold back the shocked look on her face from this crazy mare. She had seen excited ponies before, but this one topped the barrel. She tried to smile again, but had a very hard time doing it, “So, uhh… you read my adventures I see.”

“Oh yes I do! I am like, your biggest fan ever!” the hyper mare was now leaning over the table in Darings face.

"Uhh, thank you... so, ill sign your book and-"

"Which Adventure was your favorite!?"

Daring was getting flustered now, "Look, i can't answer all-"

"Was it the the Griffons Goblet?"

"Listen, I-"

"How about the Jewels of the Jungle!?"

"Your holding up the li-"

"Oh, i know! Yours was the Dragon of-"

"STOP!" Daring shouted out of frustration, "If i sign your books, will you leave? The line is being held up."

The once rambling pegasus was now upset her idol couldn't talk, "Fine."

Daring sighed as she flipped open the books one at a time, signing each one. After she was done, she shoved the stack of books back to the rainbow maned psycho across from her, "Here are you books."

"Awesome!" The mare screamed as she lifted the pile up and took off into the skies.

Daring sat for a moment after that, rubbing the sides of her head with her hooves, 'What do these books do to these ponies?'

"I can't believe it! i got Daring Do's autograph!" Rainbow Dash cheered at the dining table in the Canterlot shooping plaza.

"Yes Rainbow, Y'all told us ten times already." Applejack said from across the table, rolling her eyes out of annoyance.
Rainbow glared over at her country friend, "Hey, what gives? this is such a big deal for me!"

"Ahm just sayin' that y'all might take these books here a little too serious."

Rainbow cast a grin towards the orange earth pony, "Just because you can't read doesn't mean i shouldn't enjoy these totally awesome adventures!"

"Hey! Ya know ah can read! i just don't read as much." Applejack frowned away from the table.

"Girls, come on, lets stop this." The purple unicorn to the side said, "There is no reason to fight over something like his." Twilight Sparkle was a little upset with Rainbow too, though.

Rainbow had heard that Daring Do was doing a book signing in Canterlot, and had tried to convince all of her friends to come along with her. The only ones she could were Twilight and Applejack since the others were too busy. Once getting to the City, Rainbow told them to just wait for her at a small cafe while she did the signing so they could enjoy the city together. However, she didn't tell them that the signing would take over four hours to do, making them wait at the resteraunt the whole time.

When Rainbow finally did return back to the two of them, she never stopped talking about how she met the greatest pony ever. All she did was flip through every one of the books she had and gazed at the signatures on the front pages of each novel. She had never been happier in her entire life.

Twilight sighed as her cyan friend squeeked every time she saw the signatures. She had known Rainbow was a fan of Daring Do, but she had no idea it was this intense. Looking up to the clock tower above them, she realized how late it was, and perhaps it was best to just head back to Ponyville. Getting up from the table, she stretched her sore legs from sitting on the metal chair for so long. She looked over to Applejack, seeing that she was tired as well, "You girls ready to head back home?"

Applejack gave a glance to Twilight, "Eeyup, ah think ahm done with this place."
Rainbow stopped flipping through her pages after hearing her friends, "What? your ready to leave!? I wanted to go check out the wonderbolts training field before we left."

Applejack shot a glare at Rainbow, "Ah think ya have had yer fill of choices for the day."

"Yeah, I have to agree with Applejack on this one..." Twilight frowned in Rainbows direction, "sitting here all day waiting for you has made us a little tired."

Rainbow rolled her eyes and gathered up the books from the table. Standing up, the two mares began to follow Twilight towards the Canterlot train station. Suddenly, a loud roar blasted through the air, causing every pony to cringe from the powerful shockwave. Every pony in the street stopped what they were doing and looked up to where the strange sound was coming from. What they saw made many scream in panic.

Applejack nearly fainted at what she saw, "what in tarnation is that!?" A large object was racing through the sky above Canterlot. It appeared to be a large metal object with large things sticking out the side, like wings. Streaks of smoke and fire appeared to becoming out of the back of the structure.
Rainbow dropped the books as she stated in shock to what was passing over them, "wha-what is that thing!?"

"I don't know!" Twilight quickly answered. She had no idea what was happening. The object continued to fly across the sky in a steep decline towards the ground. It began to crash through the large trees in the distance before finally hitting the ground with a large bang.

Twilight, Rainbow and Applejack stared in disbelief at what had just happened. They all stared at the smoke rising miles away from the other side of the Everfree forest where the unknown thing landed. Twilight finally shook herself free of her nerves and looked up to the royal palace at the top of the city.

If any pony knew what happened, it would be Princess Celestia.

Preparing The Team

The royal courtroom of Canterlot gleamed brightly from the many stained glass windows along the walls. The many different pictures depicted the many feats done through history which played important significance to the protection of Equestria. At the end of the long room sat the throne of the princess, which was empty at the moment.

On the side of the courtroom, a door led to a large balcony that overlooked Canterlot and the surrounding land. Standing on the edge of it stood the tall white alicorn Princess Celestia. Her long and colorful mane flowed in the air as she looked out towards the Everfree forest in the distance.

The strange object that came from the sky had caused panic throughout the ranks in the guards; some believed it was an attack by dragons or other group of creatures. Others thought it was a prophecy that something was going to happen. Every guard in the castle heard different stories floating around in the mist of fear.

The sound of hooves trekking across the marble floor caught the princesses attention. Turning around, she saw three ponies running onto the balcony toward her. The purple unicorn in the lead ran directly up to her with confusion locked on her face,
"Princess! Did you see the strange thing crash into the forest?"

Celestia walked over to her personal student and placed golden horseshoe on Twilight's shoulder, "Yes I did. I heard the explosion in the sky and came out to see the odd figure falling out of the air."

"Do-do ya know what it is?" Applejack asked.

Celestia frowned, "No, I'm afraid that I do not have any idea what it was."

Rainbow Dash flew forward up to the princess, ignoring any kind of personal space, "What!? How can you not know what is going on? Your the princess for buck sake!"

"RAINBOW!" Twilight screamed out, grabbing her cyan friend with her magic and pulling her back, "How dare you talk to the princess like that!?"

"Y'all had better apologize to her!" Applejack sneered.

"No, it is quite alright..." Celestia stated, "this strange event has caused much distress for other ponies as well."

Twilight let her magic off of Rainbow, who glared back at her. Twilight then walked up to her mentor, "Well, do you have a plan to figure out what it is?"

"Yes I do, my faithful student. I have already arranged an expedition team to go and investigate what exactly landed on the edge of the Everfree forest."

"Expedition?" all three of the ponies said unanimously.

"Yes. I have picked two specific ponies which will be perfect for figuring out what landed out there."

"Well, who are they?" Twilight ask.

Celestia looked past them to the doorway and smiled, "Oh doctor, you came just at the right time. Girls, this is Doctor Whooves."

The trio turned to see a light brown earth pony with a darker mane. On his flank he sported an hourglass as a cutie mark. Walking out onto the balcony, he looked up to the princess, "Doc is just fine, your highness."

The princess smiled at the approaching pony, "Of course, Doc..." Celestia turned back to the three mares next to her, "Doc is one of the top scientists in Canterlot; his expertise in many fields will be useful in trying to discover what that object was."

Twilight smiled as she raised a hoof to the doctor, "it's a pleasure to meet you."

Doc took the hoof with his own, "The pleasure is mine, Miss Sparkle."

Twilight cocked her eyes in suprise, "You know who I am?"

"He he, well of course. Every pony knows the personal student to Princess Celestia."

Twilight gave a slight blush at hearing she was so well known. Celestia walked past the group, signaling them to follow her back into the throne room, "Now that you have been introduced with each other, I want you to meet the other important member to the team."

All of the ponies turned to the sound of the opening main doors of the throne room. Entering through the opening was a gray maned Pegasus wearing a green vest. The princess began to speak, "Girls, you probably recognize-"

"DARING DO!" Rainbow screamed out as she saw her idol again, "Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!"

Daring's mind began to race as she once again saw the crazy mare from earlier, 'uh. Not again.' she thought to herself. Trying to ignore her jittering fan, she walked up to the princess inside of the room, "Hello your highness. May I ask what is going on? First this strange thing falls from the sky, then guards come an request I come to the castle immediately."

Celestia walked up to the young explorer, "Daring, you are needed to go to with the Doctor here and investigate the item that landed in the forest. Since you are an expert in archeology, you would be a great addition for my team."

Daring pondered the sudden offer in her mind. While the rush of events from the evening had confused her, the idea of being able to get out into the field was very tempting. Looking up, she smiled, "I accept your offer, princess."

"Thank you. Your team of five will be escorted by several guards as you-"

The doc cut the princess off mid sentence, "Princess, you said five?"

Celestia smiled down to him, "Why yes. Twilight and her friends will be accompanying you on the journey. All are quite skilled in different ways."

Rainbow squeaked in delight hearing what the princess said, "Oh. My. Gosh." she could not believe it; she was going on an expedition with Daring Do.

Daring's face slumped when hearing what the princess said, 'you have got to be kidding me.' she said to herself.

Doc stared stupefied at the princess, "Your highness, is it a good idea to bring civilians on something like this? Perhaps it would be best If they stayed here."

Rainbow glared over at the earth pony, "Who are you calling a civilian? I'm Rainbow Dash; fastest flyer in all of Equestria." she puffed out her chest after her statement.

Daring rolled her eyes at the Pegasus, seeing that this mission was going to be a guided tourist trip for her. She now wanted to just get this request done and head back home. She continued to think to herself, 'Whatever. It's not like we are going to find anything dangerous.'

The Ship

The sun was slowly descending from the sky, casting a bright orange glow over the land. The sight was always one which was admired for all those that took the time to admire the sight. Although on this night, one small group of ponies couldn't take the time to look at it.

Trotting through the forest, five ponies were being accompanied by four royal guards on their way to find out what odd object had crashed into the ground. Leading in the front of the group was the head of the unit, Doc. While he was enthusiastic on looking into whatever landed, but he was not happy about three random mares coming along with the group as well. Twilight was the only one of the three in which didn't bother him too much since she was known for being very intelligent, but she was still not field material.

Trotting in the middle of the group, a sandy yellow pegasus looked up to see the smoke still rising in the trees ahead of them. 'We're close. Judging by the angle, we should only be a few minutes from the site.' she thought to herself. Years out on different expeditions gave her the skills to determine many necessary tricks for locating important points of desire.

Her thoughts of the mission were cut short when a certain cyan pegasus landed by her side. "So..." Rainbow Dash said with a huge grin, "When do you do your next awesome adventure out in Equestria?"

Daring Do tried to keep her patience in check; Rainbow had been constantly asking her different questions on her past adventures, what kind of Tactics she used to find her items, or even what was her favorite food! She looked over to her grinning fan, "Well, i'm not sure exactly when I'm going to have another story out."

"Where are you going to go this time?"

"Rainbow, do you want to go ahead?"

Rainbow turned to see Twilight by her side, "Why go ahead?"

Twilight grinned at her, "It's always important to scout ahead of the team to make assure we are on the right path."

Rainbow's smile spread to each ear hearing she had an important task. Not saying anything, she took off ahead of the team through the trees and disapeared from view.

Daring turned to the purple unicorn with a questioning look, "Scouting?"

Twilight smiled at the archeologist, "I just thought that you could use a break from of those questions."

Daring chuckled at hearing that, "Thanks for that."

"No problem. Rainbow just gets really excited around celebrities."

The smile on the Pegasus slowly faded at hearing those words, 'celebrity, that's all I am to ponies.'

Towards the back of the group, Applejack was walking by the guards that were traveling with them. She felt a little awkward because pretty much the entire walk they had not said a single word. Looking over to the brown unicorn to her right, she decided to try to break up the silence, "So, uh, do y'all like being in the guard?"

The guard didn't even look her way. She glared at him with cold eyes, "Ya know, y'all don't have to act all proper out here; princess isn't around. Why don't cha try to relax for a little?"

"Hmm, she does have a point." one of the guards said from behind. Trotting up to the orange mare, the white Pegasus gave an awkward smile to her, "Sorry about not talking. We are so used to keeping composure we sometimes are stuck in that mindset."

Applejack smiled "It's alright sugarcube. What's your name?"

"I'm Wind Seeker." he said.

"And I'm Swift wing." a dark gray Pegasus came up beside Wind, "It's a pleasure to meet you."

"The pleasures mine." Applejack grinned. She then turned back around to the unicorn guard who still looked forward. Frowning, she looked back to the other two guards, "So what's with grumpy horn here?"

Swift chuckled at that, "Don't worry about Breaker, he just takes his job really serious."

"Yeah, I noticed." Applejack responded.

The group continued on for a few minutes, weaving in and out of the thick tress, when suddenly they all came to a stop to what beheld them. Doc was astounded by the sight, "What in the-"

The entire forest ahead of them for over a hundred feet had been obliterated; trees were snapped and uprooted, spread out across the destroyed ground. Small fires were scattered throughout, the smoldering embers slowly losing their energy. Not a single form of life was seen besides a cyan Pegasus.

"Rainbow!" Twilight called out as she ran to her friend. When she got there, she was perplexed, "Rainbow, what's wrong?"
The pegasus was staring down the destroyed path of tress, mouth agape. Without looking, she lifted her hoof to the side of
Twilight's face and pushed it to face where she was looking.

"Oh sweet Celestia."

Not eight hundred feet away was the object that had fallen from the sky earlier that day. The front half of the giant metal object was buried deep in the dirt. The enormous wings on its sides we're cracked and bent in all sorts of odd directions. Fire still trickled out of the gaping holes that were located at the very back of the structure.

"That's what we are supposed to investigate?" Wind shakingly asked.

Doc gave a slight nod as he swallowed the lump in his throat, "Come on. Let's do this."

Slowly, all eight ponies slowly made their way down the wrecked forest path to the base of the Oddity. Being so close to it showed it was much larger than they thought; the height to the top was at least fifty feet to the top, and what they could see of the ship not in the dirt, it was over a hundred and fifty feet long. They all felt like small, insignificant ants by the behemoth.

Breaker stared in awe to the great structure before him. It was different than the royal castle, but the sight of it was just as spectacular. He then was curious on what happened next, "So, what are you supposed to look for?"

Twilight turned to look at the guard, "well, I think we have to go... Inside of this to figure it out. It has to be some sort of giant metal airship; the shape is similar to the ones in Canterlot, but this doesn't have the air balloon, and this is enormous!."

Cautiously going up to it, Daring put her hoof on the side and gave it a slight tap. To her surprise she could hear a small echo from the other side, "This thing is hollow. It must have an opening somewhere for us to get inside."

"And here it is." Doc answered from twenty feet away, "This small section must have been ripped off when it crashed."

All of the ponies looked at the hole in the side of the wall. There was nothing that they could see beyond the opening but darkness. Applejack felt sweat begin dripping down her body, "Ah ain't goin in there. Ah think ah'll wait out here for ya."
Swift gave her a concerned look, "We should not separate from each other. Besides, it is going to be dark outside anyway."
Twilight turned to Doc to ask what she had been thinking on, "What if we find... Others inside of there?"

He cast a small grin, "I came prepared just in case." Slipping off the satchel he was carrying, Doc poured out the contents. All of the other ponies gave questioning looks to the objects.

Rainbow took her eyes off the items to look at the Doc, "What the heck are they?"

He cast an even bigger smile than before, "Say hello to my latest invention; the revolver."

There was three separate objects in the pile. Each had a small metal bracelet attached to the right side of a slim, metal box. On the left side of the box, there was a strange spinning piece. Set below the box was a lever that stuck out. The end of the box was a slim steel barrel.

"These are projectile weapons that I made. Here, this is how you use them." Doc slipped his hoof inside one of the bracelets, lifting the item with ease, "You want to look down the length of it to find the target you want, then you push this to shoot." he placed his left hoof on the lever and nudged it slightly, making sure he didn't push all the way.

Breaker gave a frown at the small contraption, "What kind of weapon is that? I'd take a sword over that any day."

"Trust me, this little item has more power than an average magical blast. You do not want to be hit by one of these. Alright, Swift and Wind, since you don't have magic, you two can use my others."

"Hey,why can't I have one?" Rainbow asked.

Doc lifted an eyebrow towards the colorful Pegasus, "Because... I made these, so I know how to use them, so I get one. And secondly, no offense, I trust the guards a little more."

Rainbow frowned and turned towards Doc, "I'll have you know I actually took lessons in handling and shooting a cross bow one time! Besides how hard can it be?"

Doc turned towards her friends and gave them a doubtful look.

"It's true she did actually take a lesson one time only because her dad made her do it." Twilight said to the doc who still had a stoic look on his face.

"Regardless I still trust the guards more."

The two Pegasus guards slipped on their new weapons, surprised to feel how comfortable they were on their hooves. Swift then walked over to the opening of the monstrous metal mass, staring into the dark hole, "So, are you all prepared?"

"Yes we are." Doc answered as he walked up beside the guard, "Let's do this quick and head back to Canterlot. Let's just hope we don't have any trouble."

And so it begins

The metal hallway was nearly pitch black besides the glow coming off of Twilight's and Breaker's horns as the group walked hesitantly through the corridor. Their hooves clattered against the cold steel below them, creating an eerie echo that caused each member of the group to tense up to every sound they heard.

Rainbow kept swinging her head back and forth as her heart raced. She was never one to frighten easy, but being inside of this dark thing was giving her the creeps. She felt trapped since they were surrounded on all sides by metal inside of a hallway not more than nine feet tall. To her side, she saw Applejack was just as nervous as she was. She tried to give a smirk to hide her own uneasiness, "Scared of this place AJ?"

Applejack looked over to her, not even trying to hide the fear she had, "Ah'm a little scared. This place is weird. Don't try an' tell me y'all ain't nervous."

Rainbow's face quirked a little, "O-of course I'm not scared of this thing. This is nothing."

The three guards walked in tight formation as they led the group down the corridor. Coming up to the end of their hallway, they stopped and glanced down the other walkway, unsure which way to go. Wind turned back to Doc, "So which way are we going now?"

Doc stepped forward and looked at his choices, "Well, I'm not sure exactly where these lead. Going down without remembering where we are supposed to go back means we could get lost inside of here."

"Don't worry, I've already thought of that." Twilight said with a smile, "I have been dropping small bits of magic as we've been walking. When we need to leave..." her horn then gave off a small flash. Immediately the path behind them had a trail of small glowing purple orbs on the ground, "I can activate these to light the way back."

Breaker was impressed by the young unicorn, although he knew she was related to his captain Shining Armor, which meant she should be talented in magic. to his surprise, she deactivated the light trail, "Why did you do that?"

Twilight gave an apologetic look, "Sorry, but the magic will only last about thirty minutes while active. I have to leave it idle until we really need it."

"As long as we can find a way back I'm fine with that." Swift answered.

Rainbow glanced down the path to the right and noticed a small glowing object on the wall. "what is that thing?" walking over to it, she noticed it looked like a large button similar to the switch on a lamp. Reaching up, she moved her hoof towards it.

Doc turned and saw the cyan Pegasus moving towards the item on the wall, "Wait, don't!"

Rainbow's hoof pushed down on the button. Suddenly, the ceiling was faintly lit up by a line of lights.

Dazed, the hunter began to slowly stir. His body was stiff since it had been in stasis for the time that he and his crew were returning to their planet. As he sat up, he was surprised to see that the glass that made up his sleep tube had been broken, meaning that the sleeping gas had been disrupted, causing him to awaken early from what was normally scheduled.
Shoving the remaining glass lid that surrounded him, the predator stepped onto the ground. Despite the room eing void of light, the helmets vision switched from its thermal sight to night, giving a light blue tint to his view. Through his helmet he saw that there was a lot of damage throughout; computer monitors were smashed, the walls were dented up and cracked, and the flooring was all bent and misshaped.

Surprised by everything, the hunter lifted its right arm up towards its face so it could type onto the metal bracelet to check the ships security systems. After a moment, the scanners showed that the hull of the ship inside of the main control room was breached, causing the autopilot to take over and steer the ship off course. Unfortunately, something malfunctioned inside of the safety landing system which caused the ship to not be able to land properly.

Disappointed, he began to use is Location server to find out where they landed. After loading for a few seconds, the small screen told him that it was a small planet that it did not recognize. For this to happen meant their race had never visited it in the past. He then tried to activate his communication signal to notify their home world of their situation. As he tried to do it however, the signal was coming up blank. The only way that would happen is if the transmitter inside of the ships internal system was destroyed. And according to his scanners, the one member of his group that could fix it had been sucked out of the ship during the breach.

They were stuck on this planet.

The hunter sat still for a moment, unsure what to feel. Emotions were something that were stripped from the hearts of the predator kind to not allow feelings compromise what they had to accomplish.

After a few minutes, the hunter glanced over to the other three sleep pods in the room. His allies had not been awakened yet since their glass was undamaged, sealing the sleeping agents inside with them. Deciding it would be best to wake them up, he walks over towards them. Suddenly, the emergency lights flick on above him, Giving off a faint glow for the room. The predator tensed up immediately. He knew that the emergency lights had to be activated manually from one of the switches throughout the ship, meaning something triggered it.

Knowing his crew would be out for another twenty minutes after being opened from the pod, the lone awakened predator decides to leave them sealed to keep anything from getting to them. Knowing that the ship crashed, the cargo that they were delivering could have gotten loose. Activating his cloaking device, the predator leaves the room and disappears down the corridor.

"What are you doing!? Don't touch anything if you don't know what it is!" Doc snapped at the Pegasus.

Rainbow just glared back at him. "Jeez, sorry. How was I supposed to know what was going to happen when-"

"Exactly, you didn't know." Daring said as she trotted passed Rainbow. She didn't even take the time to turn to her as she passed, "It could have been a trap set up, and you just happily just went over and pushed it because it was glowing."
Rainbow wanted to defend herself, but she knew what she did was stupid. She just turned away and walked towards the group What the buck is her damage she's been like this ever since we started this whole trip? Rainbow wondered to herself. Twilight just shook her head and looked up to the lights that came on.

"Do you think this could have attracted anything in here?"

"I don't know." Doc responded, "We should be ready just in case." he then turned to Swift and Wind, "Alright, in case you do have to use those weapons I gave you, be careful. When they go off they will cause a slight ring in your ears from how loud they are."

Wind lifted his hoof to look at the revolver he had. If it was as loud as Doc said, it must have had a pretty good power to it.

"Alright, that shouldn't be too bad then. If this can defend me, then I'll deal with some noise."

"Well that's not the problem. These are prototypes, so I still do not have a way to add more rounds inside. You have six shots in there. Once those are gone, the weapon is useless."

Doc then began to walk down the hallway in the front of the group. He hardly went twenty feet when an open door to his right caught his attention. Walking over to it, he saw what looked like a storage room that had a large glass ball in the center that was broken in the side of it. The floor was littered with multiple glass jars that were shattered.

Walking a little closer, he noticed the strange items that were mixed with the glass everywhere. There appeared to be nearly a dozen large, purple eggs.

Face huggers

“Um Doc what do you think is in those eggs?” Wind Seeker asked about the eggs, which now appear as a greenish hue as if transparent. Doc trotted forward to examine one with a quizzical look he suddenly backed up surprised to see a living being exist in such an egg.

“I have no idea what they are but they seem to have at least eight fingers and a tale a strange formation for such a creature.” he said He got a little closer to examine the eggs when one of them started to open up.

“Um maybe we should consider leaving the area before MRPHG!” Breaker yelled as one of the creatures leaped onto his face with little difficulty. He struggled for a little longer before falling to his side.

Sweet Celestia is he dead?!” Wind asked.

Doc looked him over and checked his pulse with his hooves “No just unconscious but I barely feel a pulse he needs to get out of here fast.” Twilight picked him up with her magic and started to run to the exit with the others in hot pursuit not knowing that following them was a creature that was black as midnight with a heart that would put a changeling to shame what followed them was death incarnate, the dark stalker, the Xenomorph. They kept running towards the exit with Breaker, who was surrounded by a pink aura, in tow his breathing was steady but constricted as though he was forced to breathe and was trying to resist the urge Twilight also noticed a lump in his throat and it was moving.

“OH GROSS WHAT IS THAT!?” she exclaimed Her answer never came as they were surprised by the sudden appearance of their stalker and it was pissed. It was eyeing Breaker with great interest as if it knew what that thing in his throat was but before it could retrieve him it felt a sharp pang go through its misshapen head as the spear tip left its second mouth at the same time it became visible to the other creatures in the room as well as it’s wielder, a six-five sized creature in high tech armor and a helmet whose eyes flashed at them.

Daring and the others started to back up slowly. Not knowing what kind of beast this creature was but before they could retreat any further a red reticule was lined up with Breaker first his chest and finally his head and Daring knew in the moments that followed what was about to happen and none of them could stop it. FWOOSH the plasma caster the hunter shot off took the small pony’s head meaning that for now the serpents have no new hosts but he knew it was a matter of time before the others got out of their shock and start attacking him all he had to do was wait and see which one attacked first.

To his astonishment it was the one they called Swift Wing, who even he could tell was still a fledgling probably fresh out of training, started to throw punch after punch with some effect as he caught the hunter unawares but now it was time for the Predator to return the attack. His first response was a quick raise of his claw that stopped the next punch in its track and, at the same time, shocked the equine with how strong it was. He then smacked the creature with no effort sending him flying and proceeded to walk towards the rest of the group with the sole intent of killing them when out of nowhere a serpent leaped onto him and started to bite him which also lead to the sudden discharging of its plasma caster. The ponies decided to use this moment of distraction to their advantage and escape following the trail Twilight laid out for them.

“WHAT ARE THESE THINGS?!” Twilight asked loudly over the blasts the taller creatures strange device were making.

“I DON’T KNOW AND BELIEVE ME I’VE SEEN SOME WEIRD THINGS ON MY TRAVELS!” The Doctor shouted and he was right he had never seen either one of these creatures before but he wished he had so that he could’ve studied them more effectively. As both parties were preoccupied none of them noticed one of the eggs opening to reveal a big facehugger which headed towards the rest of the cryo tubes. As they neared the exit yet another of the black creatures appeared out of no where and leaped at them. BANG! The sound of a gun being fired off was heard along with a wail of agony.

“RAINBOW!” Applejack yelled. Rainbow, stupid but loyal as she was, managed to grab the gun from Breaker's body and hit the creature with one of it's bullets but was showered in it's molecular acid. Her whole left side was hit with enough blood to melt her skin but not to where she would die of melting. As she tripped up and fell onto the metal floor she noticed that the other creature was done with the serpent and knew she had no choice.

“Go I'll hold it off.” Rainbow stated plainly.

Twilight looked at her friend in complete shock. She knew Rainbow wouldn't last much longer but to throw her life away like this was wrong. “RAINBOW DASH DON'T YOU DARE DO THIS!” Twilight shouted and only got a smug look from her friend, "Guess I won't get to read the next story huh Twi?" she remarked and then Rainbow hit a button that sealed the hallway. Rainbow turned and saw the hunter walking towards her. She was bleeding, badly, but she had to hold off this mother bucker to give the others at least some time to escape. She pointed the gun at him and pulled the trigger. BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

The shots rang off but none of them hit it in vital areas: One missed completely, another hit a metal tube and some steam blasted out of it stunning the creature, two actually grazed it, but the last one only hit a piece of armor.

The creature looked at her but what Rainbow didn't notice was that it was actually looking at her in surprise. Never before had the hunter seen a more loyal ally then this... equine, that part in of itself was going to take a while to get used to, but what shocked him was what he saw, with the help of his x-ray visor, underneath her injured skin, at least he hopes it's a girl, was that she was suffering a severe virus that appears to have started in her wings. Being an elite normally meant that he was supposed to kill this creature but he was still a fresh one that he actually pitied the creature. He walked forward again but not of malice no he was going to do something that will probably get him killed later on but decided it was for the better. He was going to save this small insignificant creature.

The mare didn't seem to understand this and put the gun to her head. A small audible *click* was heard as the gun moved a new chamber into place. The mare started to panic now and felt a strange metal mask placed over her mouth. When the gas started to flow forth Rainbow started thrashing about trying her hardest to fight the noxious fumes but eventually gave in and slipped into darkness.

As this all happened on one side of the blast doors on the other side sat her friends banging on the door yelling at her to open it up. Daring just sat there dumbfounded by the cyan pegasus's last words Guess I won't get to read the next story huh Twi, sure she had been annoying but this, this truly was sore spot on Daring's ego and all she had to remember Rainbow by was all the times she had yelled at her. She soon laid down and started to silently weep for the fallen mare.

Meanwhile the giant facehugger already found it's pray. Having melted the tube's glass it latched on to one of the sleeping Predators. The egg laying parasite soon died after wards but not before a small creature erupted from the Predators chest and shrieked in victory. The Abomination was reborn once more.

The Abmoniation

"RAINBOW OPEN THE DOOR PLEASE!!!" Twilight shouted as she continued to bang on the blast door. Minutes had passed since their sky blue friend had sacrificed her self to spare them the wrath of an unknown creature hell bent on killing them. Her two closest friends were the most affected. The mares continued their pointless banging to no avail.

"Why? Why did ya have to do this Rainbow?" Applejack sobbed, unaware that her friend was still alive albeit barely. She turned and saw Daring on the floor crying silently and nearly snapped. “You.” Applejack growled. Daring looked up only to see an angry looking Applejack glaring down at her. She was about to ask what was making the farm mare so mad when Applejack bucked her into a nearby wall. Daring tried to get back on her hooves but was held up to the wall with Applejack’s front hoof.

“A-Applejack! What…. the buck…. is…. wrong…. with…. you?!” Daring struggled to get out of her mouth.

“IT’S YOUR DAMN FAULT DARING DO! IT’S YOUR BUCKING FAULT THAT DASH IS DEAD! SHE LOOKED UP TO YOU AND YOU LET HER DIE!” Applejack roared in anger.

“A-Applejack! Those…. creatures….are probably…. listening….to your yelling!” Daring warned.

“GOOD! I HOPE THEY HEAR ME! SO THAT WAY I CAN GIVE YOU UP TO THEM!” Applejack roared again. The suddenly a hissing sound was heard coming from the ceiling. Applejack and Daring Do look up and see something nightmarish. Standing in the room with the other ponies was a smooth headed version of the black colored creature from before. Swift Wing tried to leap at the creature and landed on it, trying to subdue it.

The creature hissed and grabbed the pegasus in it’s claws and flung him against another wall. The monster then crawled towards him with unnatural speed, Twilight trying to zap it in the process, and trapped Swift Wing on the wall. What followed was the worst moments of what remained of the rookie guard’s life. The creature opened it’s current mouth…. only to reveal a smaller one underneath. The smaller one then launched out and penetrated Swift Wing’s skull, in the process it also ate some of his brains.

“NO!” Twilight screamed as the creature’s mouth retracted back. It turned around, looking to take the farm mare back to be harvested but soon it’s head exploded as Twilight’s bolt soon connected with it’s head, it’s acid blood spilling in almost every direction but Twilight threw up a shield surrounding the group. The ground in front of them sizzled as the blood ate through the metal as though it was nothing.

“Alright. Now we’ve got some information on these things.” Doc said.

“And what might that be?” Applejack asked.

“That they’ve got a concentrated acid that takes for their blood. Now we’ve at least got a way to kill them. We just need to make sure we don’t make a wound that spills their blood.” Doc replied.

“Okay. But where do we go from here?” Applejack asked as she looked around. Twilight’s horn glowed and showed a path down a dark area.

“There’s a corridor a few feet from where we are. Follow me.” Twilight replied as she began to walk down the hallway. But little do they know that watching them from a ventilation duct, the abomination was observing them. Snarling knowing that it has new prey, it crawls back from where it came from ready for its hunt.

The Predator, known as Yeyinde or Brave One, finally made it to the med-bay on the ship. It had seen better days but he knew that it still worked. He placed the injured blue pegasus on the table, locking her with several braces, just as she started to wake up.

“W-where am I?” Rainbow asked, with difficulty as part of her face was still melted a little. She turned to try and get up but found that each move she did hurt worse than a Manticore’s sting. “OH BUCK ME!” She yelled. She then saw it. The creature that was going to kill her standing in plain view. For a few moments Rainbow was scared that she was seeing this beast again. “W-what d-do y-you w-want from me h-huh?” she asked as best she could with the pain increasing greatly, the blood from her still seeping from the wounds. She noticed that the creature’s right hand moved to something on it’s other wrist and soon heard beeping sounds coming from the device on the creature’s wrist

“HuRt VeRy BaDlY. sAvE yOu.” The alien said in a disoriented voice that sounded like a messed up version of her own voice. It walked over to a nearby console and took out a needle from it. Many ponies don’t know this but Rainbow Dash actually has a small fear of needles and this one looked particularly sharp to her. She started to panic when she noticed that it stabbed itself and pulled back on the injection tube, pulling out some of it’s blood which glowed green. After it was filled half way the alien then started to walk back over to Rainbow who started panicking again.

“L-look. I don’t want a-any trouble. S-so just l-let me go and I w-won’t have to hurt you.” Rainbow said. But then the creature stabbed Rainbow with the needle and injected its blood into her.

“OW! What was the for?!” Rainbow asked angrily.

“BlOoD iMpOrTaNt. It mAkEs yOu sTrOnGeR.” The creature replied. Immediately Rainbow felt the effect of the blood take it’s effect because Rainbow felt her body burn with pain as if she was thrown into a flame. Her forehead started to really hurt though as it started to expand and become more pronounced on her. The legs then started to extend a little bit but it felt as though they were breaking inside of the cyan mare.

But, in her opinion. The worst part, aside from her forehead, was the teeth. She felt as if four of her teeth were being pulled by a pair of tweezers. She then saw blood drip from her mouth and then four of her teeth fell out of her mouth and in place painfully grew four sharp and bloody fangs making her release a scream but what came out was a ferocious roar of pain like a Manticore. A tingling sensation then came to her neck and rear and then she felt her mane and tail morph. When the sensation was gone, she saw that her mane and tail was a little bit like the creature’s hair.

“What did you do to me?” Rainbow asked in a very deep version of her usual voice.

“I saved your life.” The creature said. This stunned Rainbow as she never knew that it understood her language. The creature must have seen the look on her face as he shook his head. “No I am not speaking your language you can understand mine. There is a difference.” It said to her. Upon hearing this Rainbow’s head dropped a bit. She blinked as she looked back up to the creature and suddenly saw nearly every color in the world. She was scared at this sudden development before she blinked again and she saw normally.

“WHAT THE BUCK WAS THAT?!” Rainbow screamed.

“What did you see?” The creature asked.

“I JUST SAW BUCKING COLORS WHEN I BLINKED!” Rainbow Dash roared.

“That must mean you have the vision of the Yautja. It’ll allow you to see the heat signatures of any living thing in the area.” The creature explained. It then walked over to a nearby closet and opened it up to reveal several masks like the one it was wearing. None of them seemed to satisfy it though. “Great I need to make you a personal mask.” It said with annoyance laced in it’s voice.

“A mask? Why on Equis would I need a mask?” Rainbow Dash asked the creature.

“For your survival here. Those serpents can’t be seen by Yautja vision. So the mask has a vision mode that will allow you to see any serpent hiding in the shadows.” The creature replied.

“What the buck is a serpent?” Rainbow asked. He opens a window and behind it is a collection of skulls. And the creature points to a skull that is long and in its jaws are silver teeth making Dash gulp a lump in her throat.

“That’s a serpent. Very dangerous.” The creature explained. After seeing the serpent’s skull Rainbow suddenly realized something.

“MY FRIENDS THEY’RE STILL ON THIS THING! I HAVE T-AAARRRGGHHH!” Rainbow yelled in pain. She looked over and saw that her left side still had some burns on it from the blood the serpent she shot sprayed on her. The Yautja saw this and went back to the console where he got the needle from earlier and pulled out a strange capsule. He pulled the capsule apart and in it was two, crystal-like shards. He walked over to the Yautja Pony and placed the shards near her chest.

“Don’t try to move. It’ll only hurt worse.” The Yautja warned.

“Wait w-AAAAAAHHHHHHH!” She roared in pain as the Yautja pierced her skin with the shards. But to her surprise, her burns healed almost instantly. The Yautja pulled out the shards which were now drained.

“The wounds are healed but you’re still weak. What you said earlier… what are ‘friends?’” The Yautja asked her. Rainbow gave him a are-you-bucking-kidding-me look.

“Listen… what’s your name?”

“Yeyinde, Brave One.” Rainbow giggled a little at the sound of his first name. “What’s so funny?” Yeyinde asked her.

“Nothing dude trust me. A friend is somepony that helps you out and you can relate to them. One of the most important thing’s I’ve learned is that you never give up on them and they don’t give up on you.” She stated. Yeyinde tilted his head a little as he pondered what she just said.

“So like a mate or a brother?” He asked. Rainbow sighed in disappointment this was going to be a long one.

Meanwhile, the group of survivors were walking through the corridor Twilight found a while ago.

“Sweet Celestia, this thing goes on forever.” Daring said in amazement.

“I know. But we need to keep moving, we don’t know what could be after us.” Twilight said back.

“What could possibly be chasing us through here?” Applejack asked. The moment she said that a giant version of the creature that killed Swift Wing earlier and it had traces of that two legged monster from earlier.

RRRRAAAAHHHHH!” The beast let out a primal yell before it launched itself at the group. Twilight at the last moment pulled up a shield which the beast crashed into with a loud BAM!

“OH COME ON IS THERE ANYTHING ON THIS TIN CAN THAT DOESN’T WANT TO KILL US!” Twilight shouted. Twilight placed up the shield but to her surprise the creature smashed through it like it was glass making her stagger a bit.

“Twi’, what do we do?” Applejack asked.

“RUN!” She screamed. The ponies ran as fast as they could away from the creature but using its lightning fast tail, it grabbed Applejack and slammed her into a wall.

“APPLEJACK!” Twilight screamed as she watched the creature walked up to her. The monster glared down on the pony in much the same manner as the one from earlier glared at Swift Wing. Just as it started to open it’s mouth… It smelled them. The slayers of it’s kind where still on the ship. Two were asleep… and two were alive? It remembered erupting out of one of the slayer’s chests but it was sure that there was only three left. It glared at the orange being in front of it before it released it and started running towards the scents it just found.

The group just stared slack jaw at what just happened. It had an easy target so why did it spare Applejack?

The Abomination ran through the ship’s corridors as fast as it could towards the slayers. It’s special senses allowed it to see the pheromones floating through the air. It followed the pheromones of the slayers of which it hated the most. It hated the slayers down to its stomach for the slayers have made its family suffer for thousands of years. But now that two of them were unprotected it had the perfect chance to exact brutal vengeance on them.

Yeyinde helped the mare, who told him her name was Rainbow Dash, back on to her hooves and taught her some basic moves that his father taught him when he was younger. The process went smoother than he expected, the pegasus learned the moves almost as fast as he did when he was her age. He was about to correct her on one of their moves when the alarm went off.

No. Yeyinde thought to himself as he went to check what was causing the alarms to go off and noticed that something was trying to break into the cryo room where his other two clan brothers were located.

“What’s wrong?” Dash asked in a worried voice.

“Rainbow Dash, I need you to run.” Yeyinde said.

“What? Why?” Dash asked.

“Something… big and something you’re not ready to fight is trying to get in here to my clan brothers. I’m going to open the back door and you run out of it.” Yeyinde said.

“Alright.” Rainbow said as she headed for the door.

“Wait!” Yeyinde said getting her attention. “Take this with you.” He then passed her a mask custom made to fit her face. She grabbed it and put it on. He then passed her gauntlets like he had on and she placed them on as well.

“Welcome to the hunt Rainbow Dash.” Yeyinde said as he activated the door.

“Thanks.” She said back. Then as the door opened, the front door fell off it’s hinges and Rainbow Dash was startled to see the creature that tried to break in. The creature was dark yellow in color compared to it’s smaller siblings but what really startled Rainbow was that it’s head looked so similar to Yeyinde’s that it even had dreadlocks. The one thing that puzzled her was why it had mandibles around it’s mouth but at that moment the creature roared and tackled Yeyinde.

Welcome To The Jungle

The Abomination was very pleased. For she has found the slayers. One of them was up while the other two were sleeping in chambers. As the Abomination walked closer to the slayer, the blades on the slayer’s wrist extended as it growled.

“Rainbow Dash! Get going!” The slayer yelled to the creature next to him.

“No way! I ain’t leaving you to fight this thing Yeyinde!” The creature yelled back. But then the Abomination charged at the slayer and tackled him to the ground. But the slayer held its head back with his arms.

“RUN! GET GOING RAINBOW DASH! I’LL MAKE SURE IT DOESN’T FOLLOW YOU!” The slayer roared as he kept the Abomination’s inner mouth from reaching and impaling his face. It started to grow impatient with the slayer and soon wrapped it’s tail around the slayer’s waist and flung it across the room. It leaped on over to it and grabbed it and then, once more, The Abomination opened it’s mouth to finally finish on of it’s people’s slayers- “RRRAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!” only to feel the penetrating blades of the slayers knives slice it’s flesh. The slayer then using his back legs kicked the abomination off of him and into a wall. Then as the Abomination tried to get up, the slayer pulled out his whip.

“Now to make sure that you stay down!” The slayer said angrily as he unraveled the whip. But as he did, the Abomination launched a spray of acid spit at the slayer only to hit his armor. The slayer quickly took action and ripped off the dissolving armor giving the Abomination a chance and it took tit by smacking the slayer with its massive hand. The slayer hit the wall and was unconscious and powerless to the Abomination. It grabbed the slayer by it’s arm and was about to stab it when the strange creature from before knocked it away. It shook it’s head and turned towards the creature, snarling as it did so. The creature looked like one of the beings from before but it also had the smell and mask of one of the slayers on it and this made it an enemy. The Abomination let loose a massive roar and charged the small slayer.

“Alright. Let’s see what this new body can do!” Rainbow said ecstatically as she got into a battle stance. The Abomination swung his massive tail at the small slayer and using her newfound speed, she dodged the swings with ease.

“Whoa! I’m digging the new speed!” Rainbow said happily. The Abomination then charged Dash but she slammed her hoof with her new super strength and made it go into a dead stop.

“That didn’t even hurt one bit!” Rainbow said in surprise. But then as the Abomination got up, Rainbow tested out her blades on the flesh of the Abomination and slashed its stomach. The Abomination roared in pain and outrage that the small creature dared to hurt it. It attempted to charge it but was soon blasted by a blast from the slayer from earlier and it fell through the opening in the giant metal tube.

Yeyinde could only stare in disbelief. For he watched a new hunter take on an Abomination and not get killed. He walked up to her and said this to her. “I thought I told you to go.”

“I’m sorry I disobeyed you Yeyinde. But I’ll never leave a friend in trouble.” Rainbow said back boldly.

“You’re….very loyal. I’m impressed.” Yeyinde said to her.

“I’m the Element of Loyalty. It’s my thing.” She said back. Rainbow Dash then took a look back at the pipe the creature fell through. “So what was that thing?”

“An Abomination. A cross of Serpents and Yautja. Any one of those we find, we kill.” Yeyinde replied as he clenched his fist tightly.

“So...I’m guessing they’re bad.” Rainbow said to Yeyinde as he walked to the computer. He then pressed some buttons and after a few minutes, he slammed his fist into the console.

“PAUK! That pipe leads outside of the ship! If that Abomination gets out there-” He started.

“Then Equestria is doomed. We’ve gotta stop that thing!” Rainbow yelled.

“Which means we need to block that pipe.” Yeyinde said as he began to walk out of the room. He pressed some buttons on the wall and it opened up to reveal more weapons made for Rainbow Dash. Her plasma caster was placed on her right shoulder as opposed to the laser reticle on her helmet. She was given a maul, a type of sword on Yeyinde’s world, a smart disk, and a full length combi staff all modified for her hooves to wield. She then started to walk out with Yeyinde to the central control room when... she heard them.

“My..friends. They’re alive.” Rainbow said happily.

“Friends? You mean the ones you talked about?” Yeyinde asked her as he tried to understand.

“Yeah! They’re alive! They survived the Serpents!” Rainbow said happily. But then as she smiled, it slowly turned into a face of sadness.

“What is wrong? I thought you were happy about seeing them.” Yeyinde said.

“I am. But...they think I’m dead.” Rainbow said sadly as she dropped her head. Yeyinde felt bad for her. For she had lost her friends for they thought she was dead. But then, a light bulb went off in his head.

“Rainbow, can I see your…. hoof?” He asked as he stuck out his hand.

“Um…. alright.” She replied as she placed it in his hand. Yeyinde then grabbed his knife a made a small cut on her hoof.

“OW!” She shrieked. But then Yeyinde squeezed the cut making drops of blood fall to the floor.

“Why are you doing this?” She asked as she watched him.

“Telling your friends that you’re alive. Your blood will tell them that you’re alive but hurt. They’ll be happy, but they’ll follow us away from Serpent territory.” He explains.

“I see. But now can we get going? I don’t wanna stick around here when something else appears.” Rainbow said.

“Agreed. Let’s go.” Yeyinde said as he got to the door. He and Rainbow Dash then left the room and began their journey to stop the Abomination.

The Abomination had already escaped however but was knocked out cold by the impact it’s head landed on a rock and it’s acid blood started to burn through the stone. While it was still unconscious two insect like creatures found it on the ground snoring.

“What do you think? Bring him back to the queen?” One of the creatures asked.

“We should. Maybe we can get love from it.” The other creature replied. Then the two grabbed the creature and began to drag it.

“IT’S HEAVIER THAN IT LOOKS!” One creature screamed as it tried to move the creature. But after a few minutes, the finally got it to where they wanted it.

“What is this you bring?” A large insect like creature asked. The large creature was sitting on what was like a throne for she was the queen of the creatures.

“We don’t know. We found it on the rocks.” One creature replied. The queen then got up and walked up to the creature.

“I’ll see if it has any love.” The creature said. She then leaned in closer with her mouth agape. But before she could do anything, a scent hit her nostrils. It was of a scent she thought was long since extinguished, the scent of her hive sister. “Leave us.”

“B-but my queen-”

“LEAVE US!” The queen yelled at them. The two insect creatures recoiled and left the room. The queen slowly pulled up the head of her hive sister and observed it.

My sister, you’ve been through a lot. She thought as she looked at her sister’s wounded face. But before the queen did anything else, the creature pinned her to the ground.

“Yes sister! Do it!” She screamed with bliss in her voice. And then, the Abomination clinged onto the face of the creature and began to plant eggs within her. One by one, a single, slimy egg went down her throat and into her stomach.

Yes! YES! Give me the children! GIVE THEM TO ME! The queen screamed in her thoughts as she felt the eggs slide down her throat. The creature soon disengaged from the queen’s mouth and moved back.

“It is good to see you once more Chrysalisss.” The Abomination said. It then picked her head up with a gentle lift of it’s claws and told her in a sorrowful tone “Forgive me for our short reunion but we must begin our hive and your genes can assssisssst in thissss.”

“Don’t feel pity sister. I would be honored to have your children. The start of a true hive unlike any other this pitiful world has ever seen!” When those words lift her mouth though three creatures erupted from her chest and landed in front of the Abomination, one of which looked just like Chrysalis.

“Now my children. Let us begin our new age. An age of when we are the masters. An age where there are no slayers. An age…. OF THE SERPENT!” The Abomination screamed in joy. Then as she roared, the three children shrieked along with her. The Abomination then gently took her claw and placed it on one of the children.

“I’m you….. Chrysalis. For you shall be…. our new queen.”

Hunter Or Prey

View Online

Twilight was stunned as she walked with the remainders of her group through the corridor of the ship. For a creature, that looked like a hybrid of the monster and the other creatures they met earlier, nearly killed Applejack but yet chose not to.

Why would that creature not kill her? She wasn’t able to move, her head was in range of its mouth, she was easy prey for the creature. But yet…. why didn’t it kill her? She wondered in her thoughts. The group continued to walk through the corridor while still mourning the death of their rainbow maned friend, of which Applejack was especially sad about.

Dash. Ah...Ah wish ya’ were right here with me. Why’d ya’ sacrifice yourself for us? Applejack thought in a depressed voice as she drooped her head. She was mostly affected by her friend’s death because she really had a bond with her. A bond stronger than a titanium chain that nopony could break. Daring was also affected by this. Her biggest fan, dead and all she had to show for her was the bad memories she had yelling at Rainbow.

I should’ve stayed behind instead of Dash. I should’ve been killed instead of her. Daring thought as tears flowed from her eyes like waterfalls. Daring trotted up to Twilight and decided to ask her a few questions, specifically about Rainbow Dash. “So Twilight... how long have you known Rainbow?” Daring asked her with some sorrow still in her voice. Twilight turned to her with tears in her eyes.

“S-She was one of the first ponies I met when I came to Ponyville.” Twilight laughed a little bit melancholy “Rainbow was always a hot head though but extremely loyal but stubborn.”

“I bet she was the most loyal of friends.” Daring said with a smile trying to cheer her up.

“Shut it Do.” Applejack said angrily.

“Applejack, I said and I’ll say it again, I’m sorry for what happened.” Daring said to Applejack.

“Buck you! Dash is dead! And whose fault is it? Hmm, let me see. Oh yeah, IT’S YOUR DAMN FAULT!” Applejack roared as she snorted steam.

“Applejack, please calm-” Daring started.

“NO! AH AIN’T GONNA CALM DOWN! NOT UNTIL THIS FIRE INSIDE IS EXTINGUISHED!” Applejack roared again.

“I’M TRYING TO BE NICE TO YOU AND THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY ME?!” Daring yelled at Applejack but the farm mare just glared daggers at Daring Do. Neither noticed the door that just opened up or the slime that they were standing on. But then a shiver went up the two’s legs and up to their spines after they stepped in the slime. But shortly after their hooves touched the substance, the two slipped and slid like they were on ice until they slammed onto a wall which stopped them. Applejack was the first to get up and she nearly had a heart attack when she saw what was in the room with them. Surrounding them were dozen of the bizarre eggs from earlier and one of them started to open near Applejack.

She started to try and get away from the egg but found that her hooves kept slipping on them. Applejack’s heart stopped pumping when spider-like legs started to squirm in the egg. But before the creature could leap from the egg at Applejack, a shot of pure blue energy flew into the room and blasted the egg and the creature to pieces. Applejack looked around the room and saw leaving from a door that was shutting a dull rainbow tail.

“R-Rainbow?” Applejack called out. The door closed though and the mystery savior already vanished. The farm mare turned her attention back to the slumped light brown pegasus mare who she considered leaving for a moment but then thought that this would probably hurt Rainbow even if she was dead. So Applejack trying to keep her hoofing on the slime covered floor, she picked Do up and took her out of the room with her but not before closing the door and sealing it shut.

Ah guess if Dash is alive, she’d want me to keep her alive, even with her crappy attitude. Applejack thought to herself. Twilight and the other two ponies ran over and helped Daring off Applejack’s back.

“What happened?” Twilight asked as she placed Do on her back.

“We slipped into a room full of those egg things. One hatched and whatever was in them tried to grab me but a blast of energy blew it up.” Applejack replied.

“A blast of energy? You mean-” Twilight started. Applejack then lowered her voice to where only Twilight could hear her.

“Yeah and no. It came from a monster’s weapon but it wasn’t the same hunter. It had a rainbow tail.” Applejack interrupted.

“No. Are you sure you weren’t just seeing things?” Twilight asked.

“Ah’m pretty sure. Ah think Dash is alive.” Applejack replied boldly. Twilight could only look into her friend’s face and sigh.

“Applejack I know how close you wanted to be with her-”

“THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT!” Applejack yelled. The other two ponies turned towards Applejack with a shocked look on their faces. Twilight just stood there stunned while Applejack soon took in who she just yelled at. “Aw shucks A-Ah’m sorry Twi’ really.”

“I understand Applejack. You’ve liked Rainbow ever since you first met.” Twilight said with a smile.

“Ah-Ah’m glad ya’ understand. Ah guess you’re right about that.” Applejack said as she blushed. She knew what her friend was talking about. Applejack liked Rainbow Dash. Really, really liked Rainbow Dash. Ever since she first ran into Dash when she first came to Ponyville. Whenever Applejack saw her, she felt her heart melt in her chest. Meanwhile as Twilight and Applejack talked, they didn’t notice the facehugger crawling on the wall behind them. The last of the guards sent with the group, Wind Seeker, noticed it though and pushed Applejack out of the way as the creature leaped off the wall and towards the mare but landed on the guards face.

“NO!” Twilight screamed. But all she could hear from the guard was his muffled scream as the creature wrapped its tail around his neck. The group surrounded him and as Twilight looked at the guard, she began to panic. “WHAT DO WE DO?! WHAT DO WE DO?!” As she said this though she never noticed Applejack leaving and turning down a hallway.

“kIlL hIm.” A distorted voice called out from the shadows. The trio started to try and pinpoint the origin of the voice. Daring Do then wakes up slowly from being knocked out and as her vision cleared, she saw something that made her heart stop.

“No. Not again. Nononononono!” Daring said as she backed away from the body. A vision of Rainbow’s corpse appeared in front of her telling her. Why didn’t you save me huh Daring? I thought you were supposed to be a hero not some selfish writer who ditches her friends. The corpse told her. Daring panicked for a moment before a slap from Twilight woke her back up.

“Thanks Twilight. I needed that.” Daring said as she rubbed her cheek. Daring then got up and saw the guard with the creature on his face.

“Twi’, what are we gonna do?” Daring asked.

“I-I don’t know. I guess we keep him with us and see what happens to him.” Twilight replied.

“KiLl HiM.” The distorted voice said again.

“THAT’S IT! WHOEVER THAT IS, SHOW YOURSELF!” Twilight yelled.

“As YoU wIsH.” The voice said along with the sound of hooves. Twilight turned around and was met with a hoof punch to her cheek sending her flying through the corridor. Doc ran towards where he thought the assailant was but was met with his head being slammed into the wall. Daring grabbed the guard’s gun and aimed at the assailant. But as she fired at the attacker, she was amazed to see the attacker dodge every shot with amazing speed. The assailant then using its bladed gauntlet sliced the barrel off the gun.

“Alright. If it’s a hoof-to-hoof fight you want. I’ll give.” Daring said as she flung the gun away and into a wall with a dink. Daring Do then got into a fighting position and prepared for the worst.

Rainbow Dash was amazed. Her own idol was prepared to fight her.

I didn’t want to fight her. But if I gotta, I will. She thought as she got into her fighting stance. She extended the blades on her wrist and released a series of clicks.

Now I’m starting to sound like Yeyinde. She said as she blushed a little. Daring started the fight by swinging her hooves at Rainbow Dash. But Dash evaded the swings and when Do was off guard, she swung back making Do stagger a bit. When Daring turned her head towards Dash, Dash felt bad that she managed to give Daring a bloody lip.

“N-nice shot.” Daring said as she wiped the blood off her lip. Rainbow was surprised to hear her say that.

“Now here’s mine.” Daring said with a grin. Daring Do then quickly turned and mule kicked Rainbow only making her step back a bit.

THAT THING SHOULD’VE FLOWN THROUGH THE AIR! These things are tougher than I thought. Daring thought in a surprised voice.

Wow. Not even Daring’s attacks hurt. This is going to be real fun. Rainbow thought to herself as she smiled under her mask. Daring charged at Rainbow but each hit was countered and ended with Daring getting a gut buck that sent her flying into the ceiling. Sorry Daring but you were in the way Rainbow thought sadly as she looked at her idol. Daring then fell from the ceiling only to be knocked out as she hit the ground. Rainbow then looked at the guard and saw that the facehugger that latched onto him fell off.

It’s too late for him. I’d better get to Yeyinde. Dash thought as she began to run. She then followed the corridor back to her friend that awaited her.

Applejack slumped off early on before the new combatant appeared and so never saw how it fought. She was distracted by the sound of hissing. Applejack continued down the hallway and soon heard a familiar voice.

“APPLEJACK!” The voice called out. Applejack could hardly believe her ears. She turned towards the sound and ran towards it the sound of her friend, no her marefriend, Rainbow Dash. Applejack quickly turned around and ran to where the voice originated.

HANG ON DASH! AH’M COMIN’! Applejack screamed in her thoughts. Applejack released tears of joy as she ran. For she had heard a voice she’s been wanting to hear for a while. But when she came to where the voice spoke, she saw that Dash wasn’t around. Only her unconscious friends.

“APPLEJACK!” She heard Rainbow call out again. Applejack turned her head towards the open corridor she left earlier that had the eggs from earlier but it was empty this time. She walked inside and heard “APPLEJACK!” being called out but much closer this time. She walked slowly as she followed the calls until her heart skipped a beat when she saw Rainbow Dash. She was covered in slime and stuck to a wall.

“Rainbow, you’re alive!” Applejack said happily.

“G-good to see you too Applejack.” Rainbow said as she smiled.

“Hold on. Ah’m gonna get ya’ outta this.” Applejack said as she walked up to Rainbow. Then using her might, Applejack ripped off parts of a black structure that pinned her to the wall until Rainbow fell onto the floor. Applejack helped her up slowly.

“Thanks AJ.” Rainbow said as she began to walk.

Now’s ya’ chance Applejack. Time to tell her your feelings. Applejack thought boldly.

“Rainbow wait.” Applejack said making Dash stop. Rainbow turned around and slowly walked back to Applejack.

“Yeah? What is it?” Rainbow asked.

“There’s something Ah gotta tell ya’.” Applejack replied. Rainbow gave her a weird look as Applejack took her stetson off.

“Rainbow, Ah’-” She started. But Rainbow placed her hoof over Applejack’s mouth.

“I know Applejack. And I love you too.” Rainbow said gently as she lowered her hoof from Aj’s mouth. Then as soon as her hoof was on the ground, Applejack placed her lips on Rainbow Dash’s lips.

Ah can’t believe it! She actually loves me! Her tongue does feel….slimy though. Maybe she’s got more saliva in her mouth than Ah know of. Applejack thought as she kissed Dash. But when she closed her eyes, she didn’t notice the large, bladed tail rising behind Dash. Before the tail could do anything, Applejack opened her eyes and jumped back as the tail went down and impale the steel floor. “WHAT IN TARNATION?!” Applejack yelled as Rainbow threw her head back and laughed. The way she laughed was very… familiar and soon Applejack put two and two together. “No… no y-ya’ can’t be.” Applejack stammered as Rainbow’s form soon became engulfed in green flames and a horn protruded from her forehead and soon she wasn’t Rainbow Miriam Dash but instead Queen Chrysalis. What surprised Applejack was how the Queen looked nothing like before. Besides the black skin that covered her body, a thick, bright blue exoskeleton covered nearly her entire body, a bony crown stood behind her horn, spiny ridges popped out of her back along with insect-like wings, in the mess that was her tail was a long, bladed tail, her head was the same except inside her mouth was a smaller mouth armed with fangs. This wasn’t a changeling. This was an abomination.

“Glorious isn’t it Applejack?” The monster said to her as it took a step forward shaking the ground beneath Applejack. the farm mare tripped and fell on her flank as she tried to back away. Chrysalis merely laughed at the orange pony’s futile attempts at escaping her. She raised her tail up again prepared to strike when she felt something sharp and cold grab it. She turned and saw something her mother warned her of. A slayer armed with a whip made from her brethren's tail. Applejack quickly got up and used her time and ran. As she ran, she remembered her friends and wondered if they were okay.

"So you decided to join those monsters as well Chrysalis?" Rainbow asked the freak of nature that was once the queen of the Changelings. Chyrsalis merely laughed at the pony/slayer hybrid as she yanked the chain and sent Rainbow careening over her and hitting a wall.

"Join them? I WAS ALWAYS ONE OF THEM! I was born into a clutch of eggs until I was taken away onto a ship. It malfunctioned and I landed here." Chrysalis hissed as she flicked her tail in agitation. Rainbow got back on her hooves and snorted at her.

"Was that supposed to surprise me? That just means that I can go open season on you and your whole kind you bitch!" Rainbow yelled and then she released a roar that Yeyinde would've been proud of.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKJp_5lKiXI

Chrysalis growled but then flicked open her wings and started to lift off.

"I will leave you for now Rainbow Dash but know that because of your stupidity to not kill my mother you have given this planet to me," She said as she blasted Rainbow with her horn and then a hole in the ship big enough for her to fit through and left the defeated hybrid alone to sulk in her failure.

Twilight groaned as she got back on her four hooves steadily. She remembered vaguely a creature landing on one of the guards but that’s where the memory ended. But when she got up, she saw the guard laying with the creature next to him. She slowly walked up to it and when she poked it with her hoof, she was relieved when it didn’t get up.

It must’ve died when we were knocked out. At least the guard’s alright. She thought happily as she observed the creature. But then she heard two more groans and saw Daring Do and the Doctor getting up from where they laid.

“Oh my head. Did anyone catch the number of the carriage that hit me?” the Doctor asked.

“Sorry Doctor. But that assailant hit you pretty hard.” Twilight replied as she helped him up.

“Thank you Twilight. Now, where’s Applejack?” The Doctor asked as he looked around the corridor. Twilight looked around and saw that her best friend was gone.

“I don’t know. I guess she ran after the attacker.” She suggested.

“Maybe. Say, where’d that creature go? The one that latched onto the guard.” He said. Twilight pointed to the dead creature next to the guard. The Doctor sighed in relief as he saw the guard.

“He’s alive. But yet, why isn’t the creature?” He asked out loud as he observed the creature.

“Ow. Did I get smacked by a Dragon?” An aching Daring Do asked as she got up.

“Good to see you’re up and moving again Miss Do.” The Doctor said with a smile. Daring came up to the two and saw the guard.

“Is he gonna be alright?” Daring asked as she gave a worried voice.

“By the looks of it. But I’m confused. If he’s alive, then why is his ‘friend’ dead?” The Doctor asked. Daring just shrugged as she picked up the unconscious guard. They soon heard the sound of heavy hoofsteps as though somepony was running. Twilight was turning when suddenly a blur of orange ran her over. When Twilight was over her dizziness, she saw Applejack who had a worried look on her face.

“Applejack, what’s-” Twilight started.

“CHRYSALIS! SHE’S….SHE’S A MONSTER!” Applejack screamed. But before Twilight could say anything, Applejack fainted from exhaustion. Twilight picked her up with her magic and activated her trail again and saw that the exit wasn’t to far away. She sighed in relief but then.

“Twilight something’s wrong with the guard.” Daring said as she and Doc backed up. Twilight turned and saw the guard coughing up blood.

“Are you alright?” She asked.

“N-no. My chest is starting to hurt. I think I-AHHHHHH!” He screamed as he collapsed. The three surrounded him and saw his chest. It started to turn red. But then what creeped them out was when the skin on his chest pushed outwards. The three ponies tried to hold in their vomit as they watched his skin push and heard his ribs break.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” He screamed. But then his chest erupted sending a tidal wave of blood and bits of his heart flew out of the hole as well. But then the screeching of a monster was heard. The creature was pale white and was small enough that it could be mistaken for a worm. It turned around to look at all the ponies before it sped off into the darkness like a snake. Twilight tried breathing to stop herself from having a panic attack. The scene of the dead guard and the creature that erupted from his chest was just too much for her to handle and she vomited.

“Oh my. Miss Twilight, I think I figured out why that creature was dead.” The Doctor said.

“W-why?” She asked as she wiped the vomit from her lip.

“Well it might be sort of right. But those arachnid creatures must be holding eggs of those creatures. And when they disperse the egg, the crawl off the creature and die.” Doc said. Twilight nodded and pushed a nearby button which opened to the outside world again. She put one hoof out and nearly cried in joy when she felt the solid earth beneath her. She looked up at the sun above her and she just basked in it’s heat.

Yeyinde sat with Rainbow Dash in the equipment room of the ship. They couldn’t believe what happened. Yeyinde’s natural enemy has became loose, and Rainbow Dash’s enemy is now a hybrid of Serpent.

“That’s it. I’m doing something we should’ve done earlier.” Yeyinde said as he got up.

“What are you going to do?” Rainbow asked as she followed him.

“Getting help.” As he walked over to the hunter’s pods. He then opened them and the two hunters walked out.

“Let the true hunt...begin.”

The Hivemind

View Online

The hive. A place that the serpents called home. And sitting on the egg sack of the serpents, none other than Queen Chrysalis herself. As she sat there, one by one, a slimy egg came out of the sack and one of her workers took it to an empty spot in the hive.

My children. For too long the creatures of this world have rejected and feared us, as they should, for we are their superiors. Soon we’ll have Equestria at our claws. She said in the language of her kind.

My queen. We’ve got a new one. Came from one of those ponies. One of her warriors said to her. Chrysalis was intrigued by this new development and asked they brought in the new family member. As soon as she saw it the serpent queen knew this one would be very useful as a drone.

M-my queen. I-it is finally nice to meet you. The serpent pony stuttered.

What is wrong child? She asked him.

Just a little n-nervous my queen. He replied.

There’s nothing to be nervous about… unless you think me weak. Do you think I am a weak queen? She asked very sternly and caused the serpent pony to start backing away.

S-sorry my queen. I p-promise I’ll try my hardest. He said boldly.

I hope so. Now follow my warrior. He’ll take you to your station. She said as she stared at an armored serpent. He did as she ordered and began to follow the warrior. The black creature bowed and left with her warrior following behind it. Soon after though The Abomination walked in and started to walk up to Chrysalis.

My dear daughter how big you’ve grown since you hatched out of your mother’s chest. The Abomination said in a cheery voice.

Thank you mother. As you can see, my…. our hive is growing rapidly. Soon we’ll have enough serpents to take the surface world. Queen Chrysalis hissed happily.

I’m glad to hear that. But one question still eludes me…. why did you spare that slayer? She asked her daughter.

She wasn’t worthy prey. With a swing of my tail she would’ve been dead. Chrysalis exclaimed. With those words, the Abomination lightly growled making the serpents stop what they were doing and slowly back away.

And yet she still breathes. I thought that I told you that under no circumstances will you spare ANY SLAYER! WE ARE TO KILL THEM YOU INSECT! The Abomination roared at her daughter causing her to growl back as they stared each other down.

WELL SORRY MOTHER! I GUESS I FORGOT! Chrysalis roared back making her mother step back.

I will leave you now. But I must imply that those slayers. Must. Die. The Abomination hissed as she leaped out of the room. Then as the beast left, the serpents came back into their working stations.

WARRIOR! She yelled bringing one of her elite guards into her room.

Yes.. my queen? He asked.

Bring in…. Rhino. She ordered making him swallow a lump in his throat. The warrior left to do as his queen commanded and arrived at a large organic cage. Inside was one of the biggest serpents to have ever lived. A massive serpent clad in black skin thick enough to handle a blast from a slayer’s cannon and built to be nigh invincible. Swinging from his rear was a massive tail with a blade thick enough to slice through solid steel.

What does my queen demand of me? The Rhino demanded of the pathetic warrior in front of it’s cage in a booming voice.

She wishes to see you. He replied as he climbed to the top of the cage. The warrior then raised the door and allowed the Rhino to walk out. With every step he took, the ground shook with the force of his step. Rhino walked into the queens chamber and stared at her.

My queen. What is it you ask of me? He asked her.

Rhino, I’m allowing you to have some fun. A group of ponies is on a slayer ship. I want you to…. have some fun with them. By now they will have located a possible exit. Be sure to utterly destroy the orange one so that none may recognize her except for her mark. She ordered her living tank. He simply nodded before charging through the wall of her hive and bellowing.

I’ll need a few free drones to fix that. She thought as she groaned. She turned back towards a warrior. How are my eggs? Are they ready? Chrysalis demanded of it. The warrior nodded and helped to bring in some that were about to hatch.

Excellent. Now check up on the drones. They’ll need someone to watch them. She ordered. He nodded before bolting to a hidden part of the hive where the drones were watching over a large clutch of eggs.

What is it warrior? One of the drones asked.

Our queen told me to keep my sight on you. How are these eggs doing? He asked.

Excellent. I heard Rhino charged his way out of here. The drone said making the warrior chuckle.

Yes. You go help the other drones fix up the wall while I’ll keep guard here. The warrior replied and turned back towards the eggs. The first of which bared a living facehugger much to the excitement of everyone in the hive but it barely made it past it’s egg before it died. Chrysalis merely snorted.

Another weak child. Take it out of my sight drones. She ordered. As she finished her sentence, a drone picked up the facehugger and took it away. Then as the drone left, a group of her spitters appeared in front of her.

My queen, we’ve found the ponies. They’re right above us. A spitter said.

Excellent. Send a group of drones to alert Rhino about this development. Chrysalis grinned evilly as she saw the spitter do so. She then looked up and couldn’t help but think that the lavender unicorn that caused her so much trouble in the past will soon be one of her first unicorn egg carriers.

Reunions

The group was happy. They finally made it out of the ship that a few of their friends have lost their lives on from vicious beings. Now, as they walked on the Equestrian soil, Applejack was lagging behind them with her head dropped low to the ground. She didn’t want to talk about the fact that her friend, dead or alive, was still on the ship and she just… left her there. Ah-Ah’m sorry. Ah’m so sorry Dash. Ah wish you were still alive and ‘ere but Ah know otherwise. She thought to herself sadly. Half the time along the way she thought of telling the others to just go ahead without her and just use her rope to end things for herself. But then….. she felt that Dash wouldn’t want that. She’d want her to be strong.

Ah’ve gotta be strong. Fer Dash. Applejack thought as she brought her head up a little. But then as she moved a little quicker, she felt something. A slight tremoring in the ground making her and the others stop moving.

“P-Please tell meh Ah only feel this.” Applejack begged. Daring was the first to respond with a scared shake of her head. They then heard the roar of a mighty beast as a giant midnight black monster unlike the others burst out from the trees beside them. It was about three times the size of the others of its kind, it had a hide thick like that of a Rhinoceros, a massive head with large jaws and a big inner mouth, swinging from its rear was a large tail with a thick bladed end, and it had hulking arms bigger than a Minotaur’s. The creature roared at the group and charged the group at full speed.

“RUN!” Twilight screamed. Then as the creature neared them, the group broke apart giving the beast no target.

“Keep apart! It’ll have to chase one of us!” The Doctor yelled as he ran. The group split up like he said but to his surprise, the beast did choose a target. Applejack. It bellowed like a ferocious animal and charged towards the farm mare with all its speed and might.

“HELP!” She screamed as she ran as fast as her legs would go. But the monstrosity kept on her and followed her into a thickly foliaged area. As she was running, though, Applejack tripped and fell into a small hole big enough for her to stand up in but the orange earth mare chose to just lay down instead so she could avoid the beast hounding after her.

Rhino was stunned. For his prey has escaped his sight. But that wouldn’t stop him from ripping apart his prey. Keeping a lookout, he walked through the forest with thunderous steps and sniffing the air. His nose then caught a scent. It was close. Very close. He turned towards two nearby holes and noticed that the scent of his prey was in both of them. The idiotic creature thought she could try and fool him? He who was the greatest warrior in the hive next to the Queen and her mother? Rhino growled loudly as he walked towards one of the holes in the ground. He took one deep intake of the prey’s scent and leapt at the hole to his left. The beast started slashing and raking his claws everywhere he could reach but he found that, even if he could reach down into the small hole, the mare wasn’t inside.

Back at the ship’s exit, out came Yeyinde and Rainbow Dash. But behind them were the new hunters. One of them was named Guan-thwei which translated meant Nightblood. The other hunter was given the name Bakuub or when translated Straight Spear.

“Yeyinde, where are we?” Bakuub asked her hunting brother.

“It is Rainbow Dash’s home planet. But soon if we do not stop the serpents it will be their hive.” Yeyinde replied boldly.

“Then what are we waiting for then? Let our hunt begin brother and sister…. sorry sisters.” Guan-Thwei said as he made a nod to Rainbow, who was blushing. Both him and Bakuub were newbloods to the hunt. They were travelling with Yeyinde mainly to see what is like to hunt.

“Guan-thwei, since you’re a tracker, can you find out if any other serpents made it out of the ship?” Yeyinde asked.

“Of course.” He replied as he pulled a gadget off of his waist. It was shaped like a bird almost. Like a falcon. He then released the device and it took to the skies. As it flew, Guan-thwei watched through his mask and used his wrist gauntlet to control the device. “From what I can see brother the hive doesn’t seem to be at any of the normal areas they would be at. Not the caves, tunnels, or any dark area I can find. It’s almost as if they actually became smart for once.” He said and chuckled at his own joke. He then got an alarm from his droid and saw a gigantic serpent clawing at a hole in the ground.

“Yeyinde, I see a huge Serpent. A few miles south from here. “ He said as he called back his device.

“Tank Class. Bakuub, you have that special chemical with you?” Yeyinde asked his hunting sister. She replied by grabbing a vial from her waist showing off the neon blue content in it.

“Excellent. Now, Bakuub you use that to soften its shell, Me, Guan-thwei, and Rainbow Dash will make sure that it won’t get up again.” He explained to the group.

“Then let’s go already! I don’t wanna be standing here!” Bakuub said in a bold tone. They all ran towards, or in Rainbow’s case flew, the serpent Guan mentioned. But along the way Guan had to ask his brother an important question.

“Why, exactly, did you save that mare brother? You know what our law states do you not?” Guan-thwei asked.

“I do. But she fought the serpents to protect her…. friends as she says it. And that is enough to earn my trust.” Yeyinde explained.

“Friends? What the Pauk is a friend?” Guan asked.

“I’ll explain later. But now we’ve got a serpent to hunt.” He replied. Guan simply nodded before running with his hunting party.

It has been a few minutes since she fell into her little hole but Applejack was, for once in her life, scared. Sure she went through the Everfree forest to fight off Nightmare Moon but she wasn’t about to die back then either. She heard the beast trying to claw into a nearby hole, which she thanked Celestia was there, to try and reach her though it was just her hat. Silently, she prayed to Celestia that something would distract the beast so she could get away from what could be her end. And to her surprise, she heard the answer to her prayer. A ferocious roar.

roar

Although she should be happy all Applejack could feel was rage. The monster that was going to save her was the same one that killed Rainbow. She watched as the beast backed up and roared in pain as something bright blue splashed onto its back. She then smelled what could’ve been burning flesh coming from the massive beast. It let loose a loud roar of pain as Applejack could hear it’s claws hit the ground and the sound growing fainter with each claw slamming into the ground. She then saw several shadows pass by her and yelled at them.

“YOU SONS OF BITCHES! YAH KILLED MAH LOVE AND THEN THINK THIS MAKES US EVEN!” Escaped her throat. She tried to pace but then remembered that she was trapped in a hole. She watched as one of the beings leaped onto the back of the monster and rapidly stabbed it in the weakened part of its carapace. She scooted back as the acidic blood of the creature fell near the hole dissolving the ground. The black monstrosity then grabbed the being off its back and fling it towards a tree making the tree nearly snap apart.

Applejack wanted these things to die for killing Dash, but yet she didn’t want to be eaten by the large black creature either. As she was trying to look at the fight she also swore she saw a blue blur pass by several times. The beast soon let loose a mighty roar and then, to Applejack’s relieve, the beast soon left. The monsters though still followed the beast as it tried to run away from them. But then as the blue being was about to follow them, it stared straight at Applejack making her eyes widen. Applejack started to back deeper into the hole as the being walked towards her. Then as it closed in on her, Applejack raised her hooves ready to defend herself. “Come on then! Ya think cause Rainbow went down I’ll die nice and quite like to! NU UH SUGARCUBE!” She yelled at the creature in front of her. She threw a punch and, unlike the other fight with Daring, the creature just took the blow face first. The being backed up from the hole and allowed Applejack to crawl out of the hole and get into a fighting position. Then the two circled each other like two Timberwolves. Applejack started the fight by trying to give the being a mule kick. But the being grabbed her legs and slammed her into the ground.

“Ow.” Applejack said in a pained voice as she tried to get up.

“StAy DoWn.” The being said to her.

“Why you-” Applejack started in an angry voice. Then with anger in her eyes, she started to swing at the being like a professional boxer, trying to land a hit on it. But the being dodged the swings that was delivered to it. But then as Applejack swung, the being blocked it but Applejack swiftly moved her back legs and bucked the creature in the jaw sending it flying into the air along with its mask falling off its face. Applejack leaped towards the creature and reared back a hoof but then the being flung open it’s wings and knocked her sideways. WHY THAT NO GOOD! Wait those wings…. no. Applejack thought to herself but she couldn’t find the energy to ignore the sight before her. Besides those wings on the bright blue body, a dulled rainbow mane and tail stood on its neck and rump. On its face with those large canines were magenta eyes. There standing in front of her, alive and well no less, was Rainbow Dash. “R-Rainbow? I-is that you?” She asked her old friend. Rainbow just stared at her before walking slowly towards her. Applejack backed up a little but soon was embraced in a hug by Rainbow.

“I-I’m so sorry Applejack. I n-never should’ve l-left you guys behind.” Rainbow sobbed into her friend’s shoulder.

“I-It’s fine. Ah’m just glad to see ya’ alive.” Applejack said back as she hugged her friend. But then, Applejack broke the hug and look at her friend with a concern.

“Rainbow, there’s somethin’ Ah gotta say.” Applejack said making Rainbow Dash give her a strange look.

“Rainbow Miriam Dash, Ah-Ah-Ah love you.” She said. Rainbow chuckled a little when her friend said that.

“I kind of figured that out Jackie. You aren’t exactly subtle with trying to ask me out.” Rainbow said making Applejack blush.

“Well, do ya’-” She started but was interrupted with Rainbow Dash placing a hoof on her lips.

“I do Applejack Smith. I love you too.” Rainbow said with a warming smile. Applejack could’ve sworn she felt her heart melt in her chest. Then slowly, the two mares leaned in for a breathtaking kiss. Applejack felt a sharp pang and realized she was nicked by one of Rainbow’s canines. “Yeah sorry Jackie they aren’t going anywhere.” Rainbow said.

“It’s fine.” She said back. Rainbow giggled a bit before kissing her again.

Recalling and Loss

Deep in the forest of Equestria two mares were hugging each other and tears were falling down from their eyes. Applejack was so happy that her marefriend, Rainbow Dash, was now able to be called alive. Even though she was transformed in some ways, her mane now looked braided and her mouth had canines like a predatory animal. Other than that, though, Rainbow was unchanged and just as big headed as well.

“Rainbow, Ah’m just so happy that yer alive. How’d ya’ do it?” Applejack asked her.

“Well… it was actually Yeyinde who saved me.” She replied.

“Who?”Applejack asked, confused as to who this “Yeyinde” was. She surprised when Rainbow chuckled a little.

“Long story short. He was the Yautja who was trying to kill us earlier on the ship, we woke him up.” She explained.

“Ya’ mean we woke that… thing up when we entered that ship? How?” She asked.

“Well, I accidentally pressed a button that-” She started.

“Set off an alarm that actually woke ‘Yeyinde’ up?” Applejack finished.

“Uh-huh.” Rainbow said. Applejack blinked a few times as she let everything just settle into her before she shook her head a little bit.

“So what about them weird lookin’ beasts? The dark ones?” Applejack asked.

“They’re called Serpents. They’re what the Yautja are hunting.” Rainbow explained.

“Alright. Ah’m startin’ to understand. So the ‘Yautja’ are huntin’ the serpents. And they’re usin’ Equestria for a huntin’ ground?” Applejack asked hoping she had it right.

“Right. Oh no! That Tank! Come on!” Rainbow said as she bolted away with Applejack following behind.

Rhino was getting increasingly frustrated with these Slayers that were on his tail. Not only did they distract him from his prey they also had the nerve, THE NERVE, to actually challenge him to a fight! He reached towards his back with his hulking arms, hoping to pull the slayer from his back as it stabbed him with its blades. As he bucked like an angry bull, trying to knock the slayer off, another slayer threw a bladed disk at him, slicing his skin and making his acidic blood drop to the ground. The beast then started to worry. This was new to it as it never felt fear before, no creature had ever pierced it’s hide before least among them were slayers. Then suddenly, a wave of adrenaline came over the Rhino making him bellow in anger.

Using his hulking arms, he finally grabbed the slayer and threw it into a tree, snapping the tree in half and severely injuring the slayer. Even though one of them was down, he had two to still fight. These were tougher than the other and the extended fight with them proved it. They dodged most of Rhino’s strikes and then they blasted it’s right arm with one of their energy projectors. Rhino roared as the flesh sizzled. But this only angered the mighty beast as it charged the two slayers. The two dodged and one of them launched a bladed disk and it sliced the burnt arm flesh, making the arm completely fall off. Rhino roared in pain as it held the bleeding stump that was once his arm. It turned around to fight them again but then felt a pain go through it’s skull and saw a spear go through it’s skull.

“That was for Bakuub you monster.” The one wielding the spear said. Then suddenly, everything went black for the Rhino.

Yeyinde and Guan-thwei were not among the happiest of the hunters. For even though they slayed the Rhino Serpent, they lost a hunting member. Bakuub, laid slouched against a tree with green blood flowing from her lips.

“Yeyinde…. please. End it. I-I feel so c-c-cold.” She told him as she coughed up the blood.

“I c-can’t. Guan,-’ He started. The Yautja simply nodded as his blades extended. Leaning to the female, he drove the blades with all his might into her chest, making her give a short squeal.

“T-Thank you.” She said before her breath was taken from her. Yeyinde then held her close to him as he released a loud roar.

“Shall I… activate her wrist bracer?” Guan asked.

“No. We shall bury her.” Yeyinde replied. The other Yautja simply nodded before picking her body up from where it laid. Using his claws, Yeyinde started to dig a small grave for the huntress. They then heard the flapping of wings and turned to see Rainbow appear.

“Yeyinde! I’m sorry I… couldn’t…. no. NO!” Rainbow yelled as she saw the dead body of Bakuub nearby.

“She… sacrificed her life to help defeat this serpent.” He said as he pointed to the large corpse.

“I-it’s my fault. If I made it here sooner I would’ve saved her! THAT PAUK DE KIlLED HER AND I COULDN’T DO A-” Rainbow stopped mid sentence as Yeyinde slapped her.

“Rainbow that is enough! It is not your fault! She lost her life to protect us and your world!” Yeyinde said angrily at the mare.

“B-But I-”

“You might want to stop. You don’t want him to get real mad.” Guan warned her. Rainbow merely nodded with new tears in her eyes, hidden by her mask that she put back on a while back. Suddenly there was a rustling in the bushes nearby causing all the hunters to aim their weapons at it, only to reveal itself as Applejack.

“NiCe To MeEt YoU.” Guan said through his vocal translator.

“Nice to meet ya’ too.” She said back. She then noticed the corpse of Bakuub and asked if she could do anything.

“No.” Yeyinde replied as he picked her body off the ground. He then walked over, with the body in his arms, to the burial they made for her

“Shucks. Was she yer sister?” She asked making him growl. Applejack huffed as Yeyinde placed his fallen ally into the hole. He then covered it with dirt, leaving her mask on the mound as a tombstone. The two Yautja that remained the began to walk back towards the way they came.

“Where are they goin’?” Applejack asked. Rainbow sighed before giving her an answer.

“To find the queen.” she replied. Applejack suddenly had a bad memory flash through her head.

“It’s Chrysalis Dash. But ya knew that didn’t ya?” Applejack said. She heard Rainbow chuckle a bit before extending her blades.

“Of course. Now let’s end this hunt.”

Final Reunions

Twilight was still running through the forest, desperately trying to escape a gigantic beast that attacked her and the remainder of the search team earlier, when she ran into a tree and sprained her ankle.

“Miss Twilight, are you alright?” The doctor asked.

“N-No. I can’t move my ankle.” She said in pain. Acting quickly, Doc picked up Twilight and placed her on his back. The Doctor turned around headed back into the forest. “Why are we going back into the forest?” Twilight asked him.

“Remember I told you and the other two to split up?” Doc asked her at which Twilight merely nodded. “Well…. it did choose a target. It’s going after Applejack.” Twilight gasped at him and used her horn to teleport them to Applejack. Twilight was already tired, though, and teleported near not Applejack but.

“Daring Do?” Doc asked the mare.

“Yep. It’s me. Where’s Applejack?” She asked him.

“I don’t know. But Miss Twilight is injured and I think that monster or different monsters are around.” Doc replied. But as he said that, the sound of a demonic squealing. Then quickly, four monsters, muscular than the others and they had orange stripes on their heads.

“You had to jinx us?” Daring asked. Then the two were shocked as they watched the monsters lower their head and large, tusk-like objects rose out of them. The creatures charged the trio who ran deeper into the forest. One of the monster’s tusks got caught in a tree and squealed furiously as it tried to get free It tore the tree from it’s roots and soon freed the trapped tusk. It got closer to Twilight and Doc the creature soon felt a sharp pang go through it’s forehead. The Doc turned and saw the creature had a spear through its skull and laid where it was impaled. He smiled until one of the creatures that remained rammed into his side without its tusks, sending him flying into the air.

“AH!” He screamed as he slammed into a tree. As he fell to the ground, the monster snarled as it closed in on him, opening its mouth to reveal another mouth within. But as it prepared to kill, a blast of energy was shot from a tree, blasting the creature in the ribs, sending the beast flying into a boulder. The beast roared at the tree where the blast came from and charged it. The tree rumbled and soon a beast jumped down and landed on the boar-like creature’s back. The beast reared back and tried to toss the other creature off it’s back.

“gIdDy Up!” The creature on the beast yelled. It soon became apparent to Doc that the creature yelling had a similar outfit to the monster that killed Rainbow Dash but it was much smaller in a body frame. The creature using its hands, reached around the neck of the monster before snapping it like a twig, making it fall to the ground. The bipedal creature as soon as it got up, another boar-like monster pounced it, sending it back into a boulder. It held the monster back as it tried to impale it with the hidden jaws. But it didn’t notice the serrated disk that flew towards the monster, slicing through its elongated skull. The disk then flew back to another one of the hunters but this one had a pony like stature to it. Doc soon saw that it also had wings and a rainbow tail to it. It was a long shot but before he could say it Twilight saw the pony-like hunter as well.

“R-Rainbow? Is that y-you?” She asked with pain in her voice because of her hoof. The creature turned towards her and floated down. It’s mask was unlike the other one as it had a strange mask with a weird filter on it. It raised a dull blue hoof and removed a nozzle. It did this about two more times before it removed the helmet and showed the familiar face with the addition of four large canines.

“Hey Twi’. Jeez you’ve seen better days.” Rainbow said as she chuckled a little. As she was starting to talk to Twilight she failed to notice a brown pegasus flying towards her.

“Dash?” She heard a familiar voice ask. Turning her head, she saw a familiar face.

“Hey Daring.” She said. But before she could say anything else, she was tackled by Daring who then quickly got her into a death hug.

“I KNEW YOU WERE ALIVE! I JUST KNEW IT!” Daring screamed in joy as she started to cry.

“Daring! Crushing! Me! Need! Lungs!” Rainbow managed to let out.

“Oops.” Daring said as she broke her hold on Dash.

“Thank you.” She said with a smile. Daring smiled to but soon felt a clawed hand grab her throat. The hand turned Daring around and she was looking at another familiar creature. A beast like the one from the ship but a little bit smaller. It cocked it’s head side to side a little bit but before it could make a decision, Rainbow stepped in. “She’s a friend Guan. Let her go.” Rainbow stated before Guan let Daring go.

“Thanks Dash.” Daring said as she rubbed her throat.

“Your welcome. Now, I need to explain why these guys are here.” Rainbow said as she stood in front of the two hunters.

“Please do Miss Dash. I’d love to listen to their tale.” Doc said.

“Alright. Basically, these guys are here to hunt the serpents, those black monsters. And if we somehow don’t stop them, they’ll make Equestria their hive. But then we have Chrysalis. She’s the queen. If we can take out the queen-”

“Then the rest of them should be weak.” Doc finished. Twilight just stared at Rainbow for a little bit before something in Dash’s statement made her realize something.

“Applejack said something about Chrysalis being a monster….. OH MY GOSH APPLEJACK! WE NEED TO-”

“No need to worry there sugarcube…. but thanks fer the concern.” A southern drawl voice said. Twilight, Doc, and Daring turned around and saw Applejack walking up to them, everything about her still okay except that she was missing her hat. Twilight tried to run forward but that only hurt the leg she injured earlier worse. “S-stupid leg.”

“Applejack. Can you get them out of here? It would make me feel safer.” Rainbow asked her. Applejack nodded right before she kissed Rainbow on the cheek. Rainbow suddenly had red cheeks that vanished the moment Applejack disappeared with the remaining team in the distance.

“Alright-” She started as she picked up her mask and placed it back on “Time to end the hunt!”

Meanwhile, back at the Xenomorph hive, the soldiers were gathered around their queen as she spoke her great speech.

MY CHILDREN! THE TIME HAS COME TO CLAIM THAT WHICH IS RIGHTFULLY OURS! THE SURFACE WORLD HAS TRIED TO SEAL US AWAY BUT WE HAVE SHOWN THEM THAT WE ARE STRONGER THAN THEY EVER THOUGHT! NOW GO FORTH AND DESTROY THOSE PATHETIC SLAYERS SO THAT NONE MAY STAND IN OUR WAY!!!! She yelled telepathically to her millions of children who all roared in response.

screech She smiled as her children all marched towards the entrance to the outside world. As she watched them she failed to notice her mother appear beside her.

Perhaps I was too quick to judge you my child. You truly are going to be one of our greatest queens. The Abomination told her telepathically. Chrysalis merely turned and smiled at her.

Thank you. But we must prepare now. I know the pegasus among the hunters and she will come here…. so why not let her.

Final hunt

Rainbow was practically sweating as she, Yeyinde and Guan made their way towards the changeling hive. To think this all started with one ship landing in a clearing. Now it’s gonna end right near it to Rainbow thought to herself as the hunters got closer to the hive. She saw that it was indeed close to the ship which explained how Chrysalis was able to sneak in and pretend to be her. This was something Rainbow was not going to let slide easily.

“Guan-thwei, any serpents around here?” Yeyinde asked as the hunter released his spy drone. After a minute of the machine soaring around, it came back to the hunter.

“According to this, they’re all near the hive’s entrance. The serpents are now making their final stand.” He replied as he placed the machine on his belt. Then as on cue, all three hunters extended their blades.

“Now, we know our mission. Slay the serpents and make sure the abomination is destroyed. If we should lose our lives, we shall make sure these beasts come with us.” Yeyinde said as he looked to his wrist bracer. Their shoulder cannons also reacted as they stirred to life and aimed in various directions. The hunters then proceeded through the entrance to the hive and towards their prey. The moment they stepped in, Rainbow felt the squishy substance of the serpents mucus used to cover their walls and floors to ensure them easy grips and maneuverability. Suddenly, the hunters heard a sound that will stay in their memories forever. The sounds of a lot of Xenomorphs hissing.

Suddenly as if in a nightmare, what seemed to be thousands of serpents began to show through the cave’s entrance.

“There must be thousands of the serpents! How are we supposed to defeat them all?!” Guan asked in a lightly frightened tone. Rainbow just growled as she flexed her wrist blades.

“We kill them all.” She said in a cold tone as she charged headlong into the fray. Her blades tearing through the horde like they were made of wet paper. This was nearly short lived as the creatures soon had her surrounded and cornered next to a wall. Her cannon took out some of them but they just kept on coming, each and every one of them gunning for a chance to kill and drink her blood, until Yeyinde started to slash through them as well and helped clear a path through the horde for her to get through.

“Guan, any sign of the queen?!” Yeyinde shouted as he snapped a serpent’s neck.

“No! My serpent vision isn’t picking up anything!” Guan shouted back as he threw a battle disk, slicing apart seven serpents in a row.

“Maybe she’s deeper in the cave! We need to get through these drones first!” Rainbow shouted as she took to the air and zoomed as far as she could. She didn’t get far before she encountered changeling serpents meeting her in midair. The creatures hissed a little before they started to spit acid at her which she dodged with ease.

“IS THAT ALL YOU-” She began until she felt a powerful tug on her leg, causing her to slam into the ground below her. Rainbow looked, and saw what brought her down. It was the abomination.

“REALLY?!”

Meanwhile in Chrysalis’ chamber, she sat on her egg sack and growled to herself.

These hunters. Why can’t they leave us alone?! We’ve never done anything to them! We need to feed so we find our meals! Is that so-

“M-Mommy? What’s wrong?” A young voice asked in a scared tone. Chrysalis turned to her side and saw the youngest changeling of her old hive walking up to her with tear filled blue eyes. She kept this one hidden and away from the spot where the rest of her brothers and sisters were converted into the drones that now were being slaughtered by the hunters.

“N-nothing sweetie. Mommy’s j-just having a little problem now is all.” She lied.

“M-Mommy, are those meanies coming to get me?” The little changeling asked. Chrysalis leaned down and stroked her cheek, wiping the tears away.

“No they aren’t. I promise that they won’t get you. Mommy will always protect you.” She replied as she nuzzled her last and normal changeling.

“I love you mommy.” She said, making the large queen shed a tear.

“I love you too.” The little changeling said with enthusiasm.

The abomination slung Rainbow Dash through one of the walls which lead to a breeding room filled with other face huggers. She starred in revulsion at each one of them as she realized what would happen if even one of them got loose on the surface and latch onto a pony. The nightmare would never end. Everypony in Equestria would be converted into monsters bent on destruction and spreading. So acting quickly, she grabbed a mine from her wrist bracer and placed it in the middle of the room before running out of it. After pressing a few of the buttons on the bracer, the mine beeped before exploding, destroying every single egg within the room.

“Talk about fried eggs.” She joked. She smiled under her mask but it was short lived as the abomination soon had her in it’s clutches once more. It raised it’s tail over and began to bring it down when it was blasted by the familiar shot from one of the hunter’s energy cannons. It turned around and saw Yeyinde standing defiantly on top of a pile of drone corpses with his gauntlet blades extended to their full length. The Abomination roared before charging directly at the hunter. But Guan-thwei managed to land on its back, causing it to change directions and break through a hive wall, making the two land in a new room.

Yeyinde couldn’t believe that his hunting brother had that much courage in him. He observed as the two rose to their feet and began to walk in a combat circle. But before the combatants began, Guan detached the air nozzle from his mask.

He’s not- Yeyinde thought as he watched the hunter raise a clawed hand to his mask. And then, Guan removed the thing that protected his face, revealing underneath it a sight beyond sights. His reptilian skin was a tannish yellow with brown surrounding the ridge of his forehead. Bright yellow eyes with reptilian slits watched the abomination as it hissed and swung its mighty tail. His mandibles twitched as he growled at the monster. Then the two combatants released their best and mightiest roars.

The abomination made the first move as it flicked its tail towards the hunter but Guan was fast of his feet as the tail missed him by an inch. He responded in kind as he blasted the monster with his plasma caster but it grabbed him with it’s tail, it appeared to be very effective in this, as they both went crashing into a wall but the abomination grabbed Guan in it’s claws. The hunter struggled to break free from the monster’s grasp. But then the abomination began to squeeze the hunter, hoping to crush him like a bug. But then a sharp pain shot through the abomination’s back. It turned and saw the other slayer with a smoking plasma caster.

It growled as it charged the other hunter but found this one to be faster than the other and even stronger as it grabbed both of the abomination’s claws and actually started to bend them downwards causing it to screech in pain. Then with a powerful crack, the abomination’s fingers broke, making it howl in pain as the blood flowed from the openings in the fingers. With a smack of its tail, she sent the hunter flying into a wall, dizzying him. It approached him, hoping to finish it off. As it closed in for the kill the abomination felt a sharp pain in its head and felt that its dreadlocks were sliced off. It slowly turned around and saw the hunter from earlier standing proud but bloodied. The hunter emitted a short roar as he ran towards it. Guan crashed into the abomination and the fight continued. They scratched and slashed at each other but the fight kept going until each of them bore so many scars and wounds it was amazing that either one were still standing. Suddenly, the abomination launched its tail forward, impaling him through his shoulder causing his neon green blood to fly out and onto the wall and floor.

“GUAN!” Yeyinde shouted as he watched the monstrosity fling his body into a pile of bones. Yeyinde then charged as fast and hard as he could towards the monstrosity and to his surprise, knocked it off of its feet and onto its back. The surprise was short lived as he felt the tail wrap around his neck as it started to squeeze the life out of him. The abomination managed to get its version of a grin in as the tail started to squeeze every last bit of breathe out of Yeyinde but soon felt something grab it and looked down…. to see Guan grabbing onto it and start driving it towards a nearby hole. Guan smiled at his brother as the plasma caster on his shoulder blaster the tail end off freeing Yeyinde in the process. He then grunted as he pressed the button that opened his wrist bracer and activated the self destruct sequence.

“GUAN! DON’T!” He yelled as the hunter moved the monster towards the pit behind him.

“YEYINDE! MAKE SURE THE QUEEN IS SLAYED! I WILL SEE YOU IN THE HEAVENS!” Guan shouted as he made the abomination sink back and fall into the pit.

“NOOOOOO!” Yeyinde roared. The only sound that was heard soon after was the explosion of a wrist bracer which signaled the end of the last of the youngbloods. Yeyinde silently cried to himself as he took off his mask.

Rainbow, while the fight with the abomination was going on, snuck off and headed towards the chamber of the queen serpent. Knowing what was ahead she was surprised to see that the chamber was unguarded. She saw several guards hiss at her but they didn’t move a muscle to try and stop her.

“Welcome hunter.” A familiar voice said. She looked at the main part of the hive and saw her main reason to come in here.

“Chrysalis. Finally, I can end all of this.” Rainbow growled.

“Why do you want to do this Rainbow Dash? What’ve we ever done to you?” Chrysalis asked her. Rainbow rolled her eyes under her mask.

“‘What’ve we ever done to you?’ Gee let’s see. First you try and take over Canterlot and nearly hurting my best friend-”

“We were starving and had no choice.”

“-You then team up with an alien parasite that only cares for killing and spreading-”

“They’re family.”

“-and then you take my form and nearly kill my marefriend in the process. You’ve done plenty to make me hate you-”

“But we do that to survive. I need to find love for my children or else we starve. We’re doing nothing more than what nature had intended for us to do Rainbow Dash. And we were intended to feed off of love.” Chrysalis explained.

“What are you-”

“But we are treated as monsters when we just are innocent. Is it wrong to feed? Is it wrong to be different?” Chrysalis asked. As she finished saying this Rainbow noticed movement from behind the queen. Chrysalis realized she was trying to look behind her and sighed as she used her tail to nudge the little changeling out from her cover. She did so reluctantly and managed a small smile towards Rainbow.

“Is that-”

“It is. This is my last original child. One that was directly born from me instead of turned. I have kept her normal and have tried to keep her safe. But it seems like it is impossible that you’re now here. If you want to, please kill me. But do not harm my child.” She begged. Rainbow stood where she was stunned. Here it was, the last of a dying species that she had always thought was a monster and it was merely an infant and it’s fate was in her hooves to either end or spare. Rainbow raised her gauntlets and leaped…. towards Chrysalis. She made sure that the blades hit a vital area so that it would be a quick and painless death for the former queen. She gasped and coughed up some of her own blood.”P-please…. don’t hurt her.” Were her last words before she moved no more. Rainbow felt cold wet tears come to her eyes. Suddenly, she noticed the little changeling, and saw her crying her little eyes out. Rainbow slowly floated downwards to the little changeling but as she approached her, the little creature moved back.

“Hey, it’s alright. I promise I won’t hurt you sweetie. Come here please.” She said in a calming voice as she reached to the child.

“G-Go away! Mommy told me about you and your mean friends!” She screamed as she swiped Rainbow’s hoof away. This hurt the pegasus huntress as she never intended to hurt the little changeling.

“I-I’m sorry but…. mommy was very sick and I had to help her get better.” Rainbow said through clenched teeth.

“W-Will she get better soon?” The little changeling asked.

“Not for a while. But I’ll watch you until she can see you again. Is that alright?” She asked as she reached out again for the little one. Slowly but surely, the little changeling reached her hoof out and tapped it against Rainbow’s hoof.

“See, I’m not mean. I promise I’ll make sure you’re very happy.” Rainbow said in a soothing voice. Just as the changeling seemed willing to walk with her she crawled back.

“T-take it off.”

“Huh?”

“Y-your scary face. T-take it o-off.” She ordered Rainbow, who realized that it was the mask that made the changeling so scared of her.

“Alright.” Rainbow simply said. She then unhooked the air nozzle to her mask and removed it, making the little changeling gasp a little. But then she started to make funny faces which caused the little one to giggle. A few moments passed and the changeling had finally agreed to go with Rainbow. “I promise. I won’t hurt you okay? I won’t let you get hurt like this ever again.” Rainbow told the changeling who suddenly changed. Rainbow had to hold back a gasp and several tears as the changeling took the form of her deceased sister.

“I-Is this good?” The changeling asked as she observed her fur which was a pink color and her mane was a dark blue.

“It’s amazing. Now how about for a name we call you… Firefly?” Rainbow asked.

“Firefly? I love it!” She said happily.

“Well then Firefly, how about we go home?” She asked as she grabbed the filly’s hot pink hoof. The filly nodded with a smile of her face. They were halfway out when she ran into a grieving Yeyinde.

“Hey Yeyinde. Where’s Guan-thwei?” She asked as she looked around for him.

“He… sacrificed himself to make sure the abomination was killed. I tried to save him, but I was too late.” He replied. Rainbow gave a face of sadness for a moment before speaking.

“He was a great youngblood Yeyinde. We’ll remember him for how he saved Equestria.” She said boldly. Yeyinde looked back and sighed. All three of them walked out of the now dead hive and into the bright sun Celestia herself seemed to have made especially for them. They knew from then on out that things would be different and that they would make sure that it would be for the best.
