Three-act Play and Rose Brass took a lot out of me, to the point I’m not sure what if anything is left. That’s not to say I’m leaving or anything like that; I still pop on Fimfiction frequently, I still read stories, I still participate through comments or notes or the occasional journal post. I still want to finish the stories in progress or planned—but it seems I’m wrung dry and have been for months. I don’t know when or even if that will change.

Questions sparked by a conversation on Discord: does Chrysalis have a human counterpart, and if so, who is she? I haven’t decided for purposes of Twin Canterlots, but if there is a human Chysalis, what if she’s the dictator—or ex-dictator—of the country where Rose was deployed?

In planning Amphorae, I knew right from the start the social worker would have to be central to the story, every bit as much as the Dazzlings themselves. Creating and fleshing out that character would demand a lot of thought and care.
