Ponyville has been invaded by bug creatures that can shoot lighting and petrify those they stab directly with their scorpion like tails. With her parents possibly crushed by debris and Pound petrified while protecting her Pumpkin is all alone. Pushed to the edge emotionally her magic awakens, unconsciously summoning forth the image Pumpkin most associates with protection: her brother Pound.
