Yes, I know Ashes is rather convoluted, dark, expositiony, and not everypony's cup of tea. This isn't a story I expected to be popular, even among readers who have grown to expect this as my signature style.

I wasn't able to post them today Because Of Reasons. (I could go into detail, but it's boring and irrelevant.)

The next two chapters of Ashes have just been posted.

I decided it worked better with the current chapter split up into two pieces, so I did that thing. The last two chapters should still be two chapters, though: one for the climax, and one for the denouement.
