Ok so it was just announced by Hasbro that there will be a full length feature MLP film with AllSparke Pictures, with a 2017 release date. Joe Ballarini (Ice Age: Continental Drift) is on scriptwriting duty for this movie, while Meghan McCarthy has taken on the role of co-producer. A tweet by Meghan seems to imply this is indeed a gen 4 movie with the Mane 6, which would be stupid if it wasn't them just saying.
