We all know that movies are all the same these days. They always have a happy ending. Especially highschool-dramas.
But I just watched The DUFF and I'm surprised by how good it actually was.

From now on, every post about what TCM is showing (and most of my movie recommendations) will be posted here. The new additions will be in the comments.
Anyway tonight (Tuesday Night) TCM is showing "The Last Dragon" (1985).
Tomorrow afternoon they are showing a movie with the eye-catching title "Hips, Hips, Hooray" (No, it doesn’t star Shakira. It’s from 1934). The TCM synopsis – Two salesmen try to market a flavored lipstick.
Happy 104th birthday to Olivia De Haviland! Legendary actress. She was great in "The Adventures Of Robin Hood" with Errol Flynn.
So, just watched John Wick 2, and the Lego Batman Movie.
The Lego Batman Movie is what would be called "a crackfic".
And John Wick, my parting comment was, "If you want to catch any professional, you gotta send someone who is better than them." Unfortunately, there is no one better than John Wick.
Turner Classic Movies is having horror flicks and some old-fashioned cheese all Friday long ie tomorrow.
Starting at 9 AM Eastern Time:
"The Little Shop Of Horrors" (1960) - A clumsy young man nurtures a plant and discovers that it's carnivorous, forcing him to kill to feed it.
"Village Of The Damned" (1960) - In the English village of Midwich, the blonde-haired, glowing-eyed children of uncertain paternity prove to have frightening powers.
"Murders In The Rue Morgue" (1932)(Stars Bela Lugosi) - A mad scientist seeks to mingle human blood with that of an ape, and resorts to kidnapping women for his experiments. (This movie is only worth a watch if you are a fan of old school/Universal horror.)
This covers movies I saw for the first-time this year. Not films that came out this year.
1. "Ace In The Hole" (1951) - A frustrated former big-city journalist now stuck working for an Albuquerque newspaper exploits a story about a man trapped in a cave to rekindle his career, but the situation quickly escalates into an out-of-control circus.
Has anyone seen Horse Movie yet?
Is it any good?
Another animated movie that I've been meaning to get to for a good while.
Well, no time like the present! XD
It was good. Not quite worth the price of a ticket at today's prices, but definitely worth the price of a ticket plus not having to avoid spoilers until it comes out on DVD. (Because it's not like anyone here would partake of pony from any dubious source. )
Also, if you can, I highly recommend seeing it when the target demographic is at school. I was one of only five people in the theater.
