Diary of the Dead

Short version? The mind-bogging large size of space keeps blind-siding me.
As such, Rainbow Dash is no longer in the Kuiper belt, but rather the asteroid field.
The longer version is far longer and contains a lot of large scary numbers, so feel free to skip it...
But even with pushing the tech and things as far as I was comfortable with, about half a year of travel time was a bit... non-constructive for drama. 
Now that I have your attention...
A bit basic, but still, a rather well done explanation on why we can't (yet) bring the dead back, but might one day be capable of doing so.
Honestly hadn't even heard about the band (Clean Bandit) until today, but if they keep up this type of quality? Think I might just have a new favorite band.
As far as the video goes it's OK, but I think I actually prefer the AMV that made me aware of the band.

Got a PM from a worried reader, asking if SA is dead.
Just thought I'd give an update on that.
Next chapter is about 65-75% done, and currently sitting at roughly:
15463 words, main chapter.
1295 words, a surprise that will hopefully be neat.
And finally, 1224 words for a codex for that same chapter.
So progress is slowly being made, but it's simply not done yet.
I've just spent most of this Sunday hammering my head against the five-meter granite wall that is my writer's block on chapter four.
I am happy to report that I've managed to push it from about 1.7 K, to 5 K, and the biggest problem that kept me from writing the rest is now solved.
And all without any sidef- bodityonhgdnhodirutnodigmnflh.
Bad joke aside, chapter four is nowhere near ready yet, but I'd thought you guys might want to hear where my day went, given the circumstances.
I've written a short-story that is also sci-fi and heavy on the philosophy.
What if there exists an actual after-life in the Optimal verse?
Just might interest a few of you while we wait for the planets to align my muse to come back from her SA vacation.

Anyway, for those of you that haven't heard about it, it's this free web-show on YouTube. Somewhere halfway between a more surreal Futurama, and Adventure Time but with sci-fi.
I'll leave the first episode at the end, but they did a few mini-episodes between seasons; one of which I happen to think sums up the humor and charachters rather well.
Apparently a report from the NRC is making the rounds that claims that a big problem for the task of getting poeple on Mars, is that the (presumable American since that's the tax-payers in question) doesn't see much of a reason for a human presence in space...

The artist has finished up the series with the final crusader.
Have to admit I like how cocky she looks, but I still consider it the weakest of the series. Sci-fi action-girl with a gun in one hand and the other on her hip is just such an over-used pose and cliche.

Too early to tell, but quantum immortality (i guess), aliens and power-armor that actually looks like it has decent coverage while still offering a clear advantage in the same flick?
Have to admit, my curiosity is roused, if not peeked. It's clearly action heavy, but I spotted some nifty scifi ideas in even that quick peek.
I've gotten a few questions when I'm updating next, so I thought I'd just go through my fics and say.
Chapter Four is only about 5-10% done, BUT a lot of the stuff for later has gotten polished up, and the outline is now more or less final up to Chapter 20.
Yup. Not a typo. Two-zero.
And that's about in the ballpark of a third-forth of the whole story I wish to tell.

I realize it is rather suspect to say something like this before it has showed in the story proper, but these pics all but nails how I've been picturing the middle-ground between the frames that are meant to look completely biological, while still being before strapping yourself into a tank levels of overkill.
Body armor with a few extras, basically. You just 'merge' with it instead of wearing it. Police, military... stuff like that.
