I think we've all heard of the Fear of God. But what's the difference between such a fear and being afraid of God? And why are we told so many times to not be afraid while being told to fear God?

Yep, it's that time of year again. Carols, Santa, music on the radio, Salvation Army in front of Wal-Mart, cookies, turkey, chicken, gingerbread houses, and Christmas trees and wreaths galore... not to mention presents.
But let's not forget the reason for the season. While all these things are nice, they do not compare with what is really important.

We must beware of false teaching and those who preach false things. Often, these false teachers will successfully mimic true teachers to the point where they are nearly indistinguishable. When Judas went to betray Jesus, most of the disciples, despite having been told mere moments before who was going to betray Him, didn't realize what he was going to do (John 13:21-30).
