Gonna post it around 5pm mountain time so keep an eye out!
So writing this novel that's going to be about 120 pages when I'm done with it.
The first 19 pages are up. Due to my writing style, I have a boat load of content, with only a few bridges connecting them, so I'll post complete sections first.
I got the chapter written but...I kinda wanna extend it a bit...please be patient! I know t's been a bit and I constantly fight the urge to give you all a little something even if it could be better.
Decided to start writing King of the Dead: One Woman Army, the prequel to KOTD.
It's how Lucretia went from being a disabled girl to one of the most reknown captains in the Taraskan army. Anyone know of some good groups who want a strong female character without the stereotypes?
Finally finished the first half of chapter 1 and broke it into two parts. I'm done with it, never touching it again. I'm so sick of that damn chapter. I've edited it, added to it, moved stuff around, deleted entire sections. I'm so sick of reading it. On the plus side, I still get that tense feeling when I read it as I follow the story. Unfortunately it made me publish part 2 of chapter 1 before it's been edited. Owell, maybe tomorrow.
Almost done with it and way ahead of my usual schedule. I'm loving this "no deadline" crap! it's nice feeling like I can just take my time and enjoy writing all over again. Hell I might just post it later today because I can. I'm debating between spending more time sprucing up the descriptions or just calling it good since there's no technical end to sprucing up.
Almost done with the next chapter. Sorry it's super late, life kinda grabbed me by the nads and threw me in cement.
Yeah, I know it's way overdue, but I've had a massive writing spree for the prequel called One Woman Army that's all about Lucretia. Don't worry, chapte 33 is almost done but I wanna get my ideas out as soon as they come. Thanks for being patient!
So I'm done with the next chapter, but I don't wanna release it until I'm done rewriting chapters 1 and 2. Basically it's occurred to me that those chapters need some work, especially since they're the first thing new readers will go through. I have a lot of experience moving a plot forward, but if I stop to think about it, I'm still new when to drop the background/setting information. Chapter 1 is a bit of a mess and breaks up combat in favor of a brief history lesson. I'm giving it a pretty
Ever hit one o those points where everything you write just reads bland? Maybe it's just my mood, but everything I seem to write sounds awkward. Trying to finish the next chapter of KOTD, and I swear everything just sounds so weird. Hopefully it's just me.
So I'm not sure what to do here. I have the next chapter ready to go and for the first time in forever, I'm ahead on chapters. Do I release it now to make up for how late the last chapter as, or use the extra time to keep working?
What does everypony think?
For those of you up to date currently, please let me know what you think of the current predicament! Also please be courteous to your other readers and mark your posts with spoiler!
I hated doing this, but this chapter was a bit long, so I decided to just cut it at 3500 words. I'm alright with longer chapters, but in my experience a long chapter that's mostly combat can get taxing on the reader.
So out of curiosity, I've had a lot of upvotes lately (a lot for me that is ) and out of curiosity, if you've upvoted it recently, how did you hear about the story?
I can't believe it, I'm almost done with chapter 33. God this is turning out amazing!
While my volume of writing hasn't gone up yet, I find myself with this strange urge to put more details into my scenes. I feel like I've neglected to describe Raiden's surroundings in combat and it honestly really helps the mood i want to portray.
So for those of you new to the story, I'd like to give you some lowdown to the future of the KOTD universe. Currently, book 1 is almost done...and by almost done, I mean I keep thinking of new, awesome stuff to add and my storyboard is a complete disaster and is more of a guideline at this point.
I meant this to be longer, but due to writing conditions, I think I'm just going to cut it at a good place. I'm sorry this took so long, I meant to make it better, but the weather keeps causing issues that make it difficult to keep writing and I'm tired of waiting to post this chapter.
Posting it today or tomorrow. Got some stuff I gotta have proofread first before I post it. Thank you all so much for your patience! I know this has been super late and with all my crap going on, this has been eating at me for so long! I'm so glad it's basically done! Thank you all so much for waiting, it means the world to me!
