Description: An oldie but a goodie. A heartwarming little sci-fi fic. And one of my "formative" stories that's short enough to submit here. Worth a read.

Description: A moving character examination of what comes after death of a good friend who meant more to Octavia than she even realized. Mourning and music are experimented with, in textual and subtextual ways. The ending, while expected (since the alternative would be criticized for nihilism), is arrived at after some unique twists and turns for a "sad" story about mourning while moving forward with life. (Submitted here because it is a good piece by a relatively new author who could use some support for the author's most ambitious piece-yet.)

Description: A metatextual experience also involving the author's notes. Follow along as Scootaloo attempts to write entertaining stories. Pure silliness. (Submitted here because it is on my top bookshelf, yet it has less than 10 upvotes! It could use more attention!)

A Head Librarian of the Royal Canterlot Library has to read fanfiction across Equestria. She finds one story that has a twist she didn't see coming. (Dislestia)
Description: An ultra-short sarcastic paean honoring bad fanfiction. This is a good example of a well-executed in-and-out joke fic to read when waiting on an elevator. (Submitted here because it is on my top bookshelf, yet it has less than 10 upvotes! It could use more attention!)

Description: A semi-epistolary story detailing the falling out of a romance between Braeburn and Flash Sentry, from the latter's perspective. This story was an entrant into the M/M Shipping Contest III by a new author (both to FimFiction and fiction writing in general) whose work I would like to see get more support. (Content warning for themes of homophobia).

Description: A unique take on the genre of a fair play murder mystery. Taking place in a light alternate universe prior to season one, this story follows Rarity and Pinkie as they attempt to uncover the truth behind a sudden fire that destroyed a portion of Sweet Apple Acres -- and killed Applejack's parents. This story participated in the 2023 Whodunnit? Youdunnit! Contest and was awarded an honorable mention. However, it received woefully little attention or comments. The author is fairly new and has noted to still be practicing their craft, but nonetheless presented a very interesting mystery that also attempts to explore a more grounded depiction of grief than is often seen in the genre. (Content warning for death -- which appears in the story's tags -- and grief after the sudden and tragic loss of family).

Description: My winning entry in the M/M Shipping Contest III. While this story has already received some truly lovely feedback from the contest judges, I'm mainly submitting it on behalf of other members of Comment Club expressing an interest in reading it. Though I can't pretend it wouldn't make me smile to see some further thoughts on it, as it's a work that's pretty dear to me. (Relevant content warnings are in the long description).
Pony Wallflower Blush wakes up in a desolate and empty world, hoofcuffed to a princess of a species she's never heard of before. Everything feels so wrong. She tries not to think about it too hard.
When Strawberry Sunrise was eight years old, she watched as the sun blinked. It vanished for exactly four seconds, and Strawberry knew she had just seen the end of the world.
Description: 2nd place winner of the Science Fiction Contest II. An *Interstellar*-esque tale of a dying Equestria told backwards, and a tale of an alien species trying to find a new home planet, intertwined tragically. Hauntingly beautiful, I cannot recommend it enough

Description: My entry for the Cyberpunk Equestria Contest. Biopunk inspired by *The Windup Girl*, with a sad Zephyr Breeze characterization I am very proud of
we've all read a lot of immortality angst stories, but this one makes it mark with its rich prose capturing the heart of the Twilight-Spike relationship
i had a great time reading this! the AU setting tightening the focus to the three most "Ponyville" of the Mane Six makes me yearn for a show we never had. and augh i love the Rarity in this
