Ever since userscripts.org was taken down in 2014, alternatives spread. The issue is that it doesn't seem like one standard was ever agreed upon, which makes distribution and discovery of new scripts tedious. Looking through our forum, it seems like the tug of war is between greasyfork.org and openuserjs.org. But again, neither seem to enjoy a clear dominance.

Did I miss something? Is there a victor after all or are we still in this weird limbo?

Not that I know of. Someone had the same idea as you in 2014 and filed two issues (OpenUserJS.org#96, greasyfork#99) asking if the sites could join up. There was some discussion and ideas for what that would look like, but it ultimately didn't go anywhere. Would be nice if everything was in one place, though.

I just figured Greasyfork was the de-facto replacement.

Interestingly, it was only a few days ago I discovered Freestyler.ws, a kind of alternative to userstyles.org that seems to also mirror the same content.
