The Independant Republic of Ponies

'The Independant Republic of Ponies' is the name and revolution is our game. For far too long have the ponies and other races of this fair land have slaved away under the tyranny of these so called 'nobility' of the land! For over a thousand years, the Princesses have held us back with their archaic diarchy! But that changes today! Every stallion, mare, and foal of every race deserves a chance to make something of themselves! It is time to rise up and make it so! Others claim to follow similar goals, but are little more than anarchists or money grubbing business ponies that would see our culture and the very land we love destroyed and replaced by the barren fires of industry.But, 'The Independant Republic' only wishes to instill peace and prosperity through the rule of laws agreed upon by all. Throw off the shackles of the monarchy, reject the heathen anarchists and industrialists and join 'The Independant Republic of Ponies'!

Together with our allies, we shall earn our freedom to found a new nation for our own, be it through diplomacy or war. Freedom shall be ours! So rise ponies and peoples of the Republic! Rise and take your place on the world stage! Rise, for it is throught the power of the common man/stallion that we shall achieve our victory!

And so I say to you, my friends, let our revolution begin!

The Republic started while the Princesses were still in power as a political movement mostly consisting of modern age philosophers and artists of many different races, with musicians being a big part of it (we have some as our Prime and Deputy Ministers after all). The movement slowly grew, not growing violent for the most part, just loud, but mostly ignored despite how large it was. It wasn't until Irongalley rose up that we became militant. In the chaos we assumed that he had already taken control and we became agressive. After coming into contact with other factions we settled down and formed our alliances. Thought the movement started in Canterlot, where we picked up our most notable members, Octavia and Vinyl Scratch, we have migrated south towards Appleloosa and Dodge Junction in our attempt to find a place of our own.

Here in the Republic, we follow Prime Minister Octavia and her Deputy Prime Minister Vinyl Scratch.

Parliament is currently looking for nominees to fill the empty positions as well as any other relevent positions we may think of, such as minister of defense.

The Republic uses the 'alternative vote' to determine its Prime and Deputy Ministers as well as a variation of 'mixed-member proportional' voting to determine seats on the Parliament.

Current Governmental Policies (work in progress, needs heavy editing to fit current goals):

Currently, the military of The Independant Republic of Ponies is working to use phonograph tech and sound based magics to develope a weapon that Deputy Prime Minister, Vinyl Scratch has termed the 'BASS CANNON'. We are making good progress.
