It's something I'm thinking about in my ongoing: having a character whom one of these two repeatably fights evenly several intense times find respect for each other/ the roots of a genuine friendship with them.
Sort of like how after enough fights in One Piece Gol D Rodger was quite friendly with Whitebeard, and grew friendly enough with Garp to trust his son to him.
5513705 it could work if they were born into a different time period like the Middle ages where honorable duels were a thing, but no not in the Equestria Girls universe as it is. They could do something similar, but with Street Fighter, I could see that being a thing. ~ ChuckHorsis, Martial Arts legend and watcher of candy-colored horsies

Sure.
5513705 It is possible, but I think that it's more along the lines of friendly rivalry.
Though, it is possible that they'll still be wrestling and having sweaty fun at the same time...

That would remind me of the friendly bouts between Meliodas and Ban from Seven Deadly Sins.

Okay, maybe not as violent, but still...
