So here’s an idea on how the episode The Cart Before the Ponies could’ve gone differently, one that doesn’t involve a massive pileup on a racetrack. Instead just an hour before the start of the derby the CMC, angry and frustrated by the controlling attitudes of their older siblings and their insistence on driving the carts themselves instead of them proves to be the last straw. So in a moment where Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo stand up for themselves against Applejack, Rarity and Rainbow Dash, they officiate a boycott against the race, refusing to even participate until their sisters can their acts together and let go of their foolish ambitions.
