Why is it that whenever something gets super popular, it almost always does something super awful or at least extremely questionable? I mean, this show started out trying to break away from conventional girls' shows and it succeeded at that and was extremely good. Now it's done a high school setting, a love interest, a princessification, and we have the fans tearing at each others throats and horny males devoting each and every little thing that happens in this show to sex. I mean, what happened? Did the people working on MLP listen to us too much? Was the show doomed when Lauren left? Or was it doomed from the start to become a franchise ruined by its own fandom, like others before it?
