Have an excellent passage, poem, et cetera that you want to share? Look no further than the Prose Bank!
I'll start this off with a poem and a few paragraphs, one from Sir Galahad and the other from The Great Gatsby.

My good blade carves the casques of men,
My tough lance thrusteth sure,
My strength is as the strength of ten,
Because my heart is pure.
— Lord Alfred Tennyson, "Sir Galahad"

“In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that I’ve been turning over in my mind ever since.

‘“Whenever you feel like criticizing any one,”’ he told me, ‘“just remember that all the people in this world haven’t had the advantages that you’ve had.”

“He didn’t say any more, but we’ve always been unusually communicative in a reserved way, and I understood that he meant a great deal more than that. In consequence, I’m inclined to reserve all judgments, a habit that has opened up many curious natures to me and also made me the victim of not a few veteran bores.”
— F. Scott Fitzgerald, "The Great Gatsby"
