MLP Season 5: Episode 3-4 observations · 5:26pm Apr 18th, 2015
Just wanted to share some of my thoughts regarding the recent episodes.
Castle, Sweet Castle actually made me cry. There was a huge backlash in the fandom when Twilight's library was destroyed. I think that taking the roots and turning them into a chandelier was a stroke of genius. I can't think of a better way to honor the memories made during the first four seasons.
As for Bloom and Gloom, we found out that Babs Seed got her cutie mark! It's unfortunate that it happened off screen, but it works as a plot device for this episode. (Pun not intended.) Babs Seed's cutie mark is a pair of scissors. How long before she starts being regularly shipped with Snips or is depicted as a scissors-wielding serial killer or is portrayed as someone who cuts herself?
I also fully expect to see art of Applebloom as a Ghostbuster.
I never thought they'd reference Story of the Blanks in the series, but it was a welcome surprise.
Gah now I need to watch the new episode! That parasprite-busting sweetie looks awesome!
You know, now that I re-watch that bit. It does feel like a little nod to The Story of the Blanks
It seems like they are taking the popular stuff at this point for filler and nods. They are running out of ideas when you think about it.
These are all thoughts from my head. How did you get there.
What, no scissoring jokes?
What is the "story of the blanks?"
2995212 It's a fanmade game back in FiM's early days. Applebloom wanders through the Everfree Forest and comes across a town lost in time that sees Cutie Marks as some form of curse. As night comes around, the ponies change colors and become shadowy-black with red mouths and eyes. They attempt to trap Applebloom there to 'save' her from ever being cursed with a Cutie Mark.
2995271 Sounds scary.
