“It… it will take time to charge the magical spell,” Twilight sucked in a deep breath to steady herself; and satisfied that Lightning Dust was close enough, she slowly pushed against the ground, her legs trembling as they threatened to collapse below her. “I’m weak from blood loss… just give me a few moments to collect myself...”
“We don’t have a few minutes, Twilight Sparkle! Luna will be here any moment to take your power!” Lightning Dust stomped a hoof, drawing her muzzle towards the broken alicorn's own, snarling. “Hurry it up! If I can claim your power for myself and combine it with the Alicorn Amulet… I could become invincible! Nopony will dare challenge me again! I will rule; I will be the Princess-no… no… I will be something else; something more! Something new!”
Lightning Dust lifted her eyes up to the sky, grinning maniacally, her wings erect. “I will become Equestria’s one true Queen!"

I just wonder what the motivation behind having her own sister murdered, basically mutilating Twilight, and causing the deaths of who knows how many ponies, up to and including Fluttershy, is?!
And I'm going on record right now as saying that Lightning Dust is nuts. Bat-shit insane right there.
Can't wait for the new chapter to come, as what's about to happen in it is gonna be epic!
Oh, and please, please tell me that Twilight, AJ and Dash are gonna survive this. Please.
Fluttershy's death was hard enough. To lose these three would be even worse.
I don't think Twilight will truly die. She is just to smart for that. She probably has around 10 backup plans ready.
Hum... I don't think Luna is behind all this. Too easy , too predictable.
There is no logical reason for her to do so.
Then again , everyone seems bat-shit crazy and/or a stupid-evil character , so I guess anything goes.

Maybe picking that point in the chapter as a teaser was a little too much. Kind of hope you don't unfollow teh story but, yeah, I can kind of get it if people do, it is a part of the plot where shit just goes wrong, ponies die, things don't make sense and Lightning Dust is completely insane a la Alicorn Amulet.
