I think that, although it's not shouted into your face, it should become fairly obvious to you when you read my works that I don't like Rarity.
Of course, I won't blame you if you do like her, as long as you don't make any stuff like Rarity x Fluttershy.
It used to be far worse, but I still think she somehow just doesn't fit. Look at it like that; Of the Mane 6, she's the only one with a fixed occupation. Surely, Pinkie Pie's hinted to have a job at the bakery, but given how little she actually works there (Zero so far), it's all just fun and games. Pre-s2 finale, she was also literally the only pony with any kind of sexuality. She's ALSO the only pony (Before The Last Roundup was released, at least) who is capable of actively lying to avoid an uncomfortable situation.
And not only that, but she's also seriously a whiny bitch.
Can you see where I'm getting at? After watching the first double episode, I already had a very good idea of who everypony is and how much I like them. That has changed very little since.
So imagine a whiny bitch, who's the only one with a job, sexuality and the ability to lie, fitting into a universe where everything is candy colored and flavored. It just doesn't work. For me, she adds a touch of the adult world where it simply doesn't belong. And Studio B has never done anything to get me off those prejudices, no, instead, they make her do just what I don't like about her, like they WANT people to hate her for her adultery.
Compare that to the weaponised cute that is Fluttershy. Now who is the best pony?
