If people are going to write pony/game crossovers... · 3:54pm Sep 10th, 2014

...why hasn't anyone gone with the obvious one?

"Twilight, you need to enter Ponyville, make friends, and defeat Nightmare Moon."

"And how do I do that?"

"Well, first you're going to need to plant a bunch of buildings all over the place. Don't worry too much about zoning codes: nopony else does. After that, unlock several ponies. None of them will be the friends you need, but at least it'll falsely feel like you're making some kind of progress. Also, you may need to indulge in at least one stupid stunt per day, some of which may involve darting into a magic mirror, which will lead you to the place where you can dance horribly in a way you've never danced horribly before. Now this may sound like it's taking a while, but if you start feeling frustrated, just send me every coin you possess and I'll nuzzle over too few things which might speed the process up, all of which will run out faster than you would ever imagine."

"...but Princess... that sounds... I don't even... how is any of this supposed to work? I make buildings? I can't build anything! And even if I could, the night would go on for so long while I did it... I'm just one pony..."

"Oh, don't worry about it. The night will last forever. But 'forever' won't actually have any effect until you wrap things up. That'll give you plenty of time to figure the rest out on your own."

"...on my own? You mean... you'll never come to help me?"

"Of course I will, my little pony."

"Oh, thank goodness --"

"-- that'll be five hundred Instant Princess Unlock bits."

"..."

"Cash."

If you want those by Friday, it will cost you like 5000 Gems. Or I could write an upload them all instantly for $50...

Sounds like a kafkaesque nightmare. I recommend a Halloween uploading.

I remember reading a story about a Gameloft crossover once, if only vaguely.

The bit I can recall was about how Twilight was frustrated with the "magic ball game", and how in the end, she had her memory of the entire event erased. :trollestia:

Then, Twilight Sparkle found her own past self's notes about the whole ordeal, and she started asking Princess Celestia some awkward questions. Which ended with an oblivious Twilight Sparkle happily returning to Ponyville. :pinkiecrazy:

This means there's two of these crossovers out there, because I distinctly remember another one where Twilight was bemused by the fact that even if it was eternal night, all the buildings were in the sun.

And that nobody cared about all the parasprites going around.

There are plenty of comic strips about it, at least.

I quit playing the game after a long period in which parasprites and fruit bats disproportionally spawned in the color red (as in, two to four times as much red as all the other colors put together), until all the towns were flooded with them and my stores of red elements were empty... while all the other elements were sitting at 999. So my story would probably end with Rainbow Dash being too busy napping to help until Twilight gives up and leaves Equestria entirely, all the while Pinkie Pie is lamenting that there isn't a music shop in town.

Don't forget about the Rainbow Rocks ads and Crystal Empire DLC. :trollestia:

Best solution is to root the Universe and edit the save state, adding as many coins and gems to Twilight Sparkle's inventory as could ever be possibly needed.

2443935 Heh. I was gonna post it, but you beat me to it;

That second comic was actually drawn by me. :raritywink:

If anypony does end up writing a story, don't forget to include the changelings for some reason being fixated on taking the form of unicorn-Twilight, and the multiple Octavia glitch the game had for a while. Not to forget that Fleur DeLis was an alicorn for a while, if only shortly. :trollestia:

And of course, the fact that the FlimFlam brothers seem to be behind it all. :twilightoops:

Also, little things like Big Mac enjoying his gossimer wings. Or that the game often gets its missions wrong, having to "prepare a welcome party to get Pinkie Pie to come back"... except that she's already there. :pinkiehappy:

And yes, the difference between night and daytime.

"The partly clouded weather will last... FOREVER! MWHAAHAHAHAhaha ha haa... wait that's not right." :facehoof:

I love you so much for this:raritywink:

Sounds like my game at the moment. Canterlot, Land of the Red Changelings Who Just Stand Around And Look At You. I've got about 5 people on my friend list still sending me hearts, and about a thousand hearts with nothing to buy.

I expect sixteen different first chapters in the New Stories column by Friday.

Better yet, New Stories and the Featured Box. Twilight realizes the futility of Princess Celestia's imperative, binges on alcohol and mindless futa clop all night, and ultimately discovers exactly how much power she really has as she accidentally razes the area. Of Equestria. NMM descends at precisely the right time and attempts to hire her on the spot, because what the hell.

"Twilight Sparkle? Thou hast done FAR more damage in one brief, er..."

"...hour."

"Um... well, hour, then, than ever We did in many moons! We particularly like the, erm—" she waved a hoof in the general direction of the smoke and flames rising in great orange black billows on the horizon, "—melty Canterlot towers. Our sister is likely most righteously irked. Also, We surrender."

Twilight accepts, mounts the throne (so to speak) and descends into a dark, frisky nightmare, and wins the game. The End!

[sorry]

Ah yes, Twilight's introduction to the use of money as a magical catalyst. And when she finally makes her way back to Canterlot, she finds that all the prices have jumped by an order of magnitude, her brother's getting married, and the one building she can't arbitrarily reposition is Celestia's castle. :trollestia:

So, ah... this was already a thing.

Don't forget your brother's wedding, Twilight! You'll have to use the Elements of Harmony to vaporize Chrysalis and her entire army, without a single demand for surrender, while she screams in absolute horror.

....And activate the Elements by playing minigames. :pinkiecrazy:
