Blankness - Chapter Two: Deleted Scene · 8:06pm Aug 4th, 2014

Twilight slowly opened the door of the guest room in which Golden Harvest was now sleeping. It had taken little persuasion to convince the carrot farmer to stay here while Twilight tried to figure out what had happened to her.

The unicorn moved slowly to the table in the other end of the room and set a few books there. She had to be quick and thorough, there was no time to waste.

“Let’s see what I can do for you, girl,” Twilight whispered as she levitated a small parchment in front of her. There were a couple of things that she needed to rule out first, just basic check ups and scans that would turn up a result.

At least that’s what she expected.

Twilight lit up her horn and a faint lavender glow appeared on top of Golden Harvest.

The first thing that popped on Twilight’s mind was that this may be a spell that someone put on Golden. Granted, Twilight didn’t know any spell that could affect a cutie mark, nor anypony capable of casting such a spell, but she prefered to err in the side of caution.

As expected, Golden Harvest didn’t show any kind of magical interference, which meant that this wasn’t a spell or hex.

“Then what is it?” Twilight murmured as a frown formed on her face

Now that the first point of her checklist was discarded, she moved on to the next item, “Magical Feedback” she said as she looked at the words written in a hurry.

Even if magical interference wasn’t the cause of Golden’s current state, Twilight still should be able to sense the inherent magic of the yellow mare’s cutie mark.

Right?

She tapped her hooves nervously on the floorboards of the guest room as she channeled the magic energy on her horn, and once she had attuned her leylines to Golden Harvest, she waited.

And waited.

Twilight could feel sweat forming on her brow as she stood there, eyes closed, waiting to pick up on something, anything.

She stood there for what felt like hours, until she accepted that nothing would happen.

Twilight lifted the list and grimaced as she crossed the second item in it. At this point, the other scans weren’t necessary. If there wasn’t any sort of magic she could pick up, she had to face this problem from another angle.

Which one, though?

I ended up cutting it because I didn't think it was that good, or necessary, seeing that Apple Bloom was going to eavesdrop on Twiligh, Applejack and Dr. Horse. Besides, I didn't feel it fit too well with the flow of the chapter.

Or I was just being picky, either way, there it is. I hope you liked it and I'll go back to writing now.

Hey man (or gal, I don't know, in this tube land, the gender of anyone), don't worry about it, I mean, it's a hobby, you do it for fun, and if you don't feel well enough to write, no one will put you under fire for it.

I hope you get better! Have a healthy day!
