Howdy howdy everyone! Derply here in all of his slow-ass glory, informing ya'll once again that I, despite popular belief, am not dead and/or ignoring all you sexy bitches and bastards out there.
In all seriousness though, I once again find the need to once more apologize for my lack of activity as of late. It's midterm time around here right now, meaning I don't gets no time for fun and games anymore. That includes writing, which saddens me quite a bit. I was hoping not to have to place my main fic on a Hiatus again, but it's slowly starting to look like that's what's going to happen. A pretty heavy re-write of the whole thing might be in the cards as well (it's mostly fat cutting, don't start panicking!), so I honestly don't know when I'm going to have the stretch of time needed to give it my full concentration... *cries*
I wish there was something I could give to all you loyal readers out there, but I sadly don't have the time to really give you people anything substantial. So, instead, I think I'll give you a quick sneak-peek into what's going on in my story page instead! On your side of the monitor I only have three stories... on mine I actually have seven! Here, have a looksie (Note: ignore the word count! I mostly work on my stuff off my own computer or google docs ^_^)! Tell me if one catches your fancy, I might actually work on it some day!
Hehe, seems like I'm favoring one universe more then others, doesn't it? I REALLY want to do a crossover fic someday based on one, if not all of the MegaTen games, but I first want to make sure I'm completely up to snuff when I work on it and able to give it the kind of dedication to detail I give to ACitM. Hopefully some of you are already fans of the series, or are interested in giving it a try. I highly recommend it!
... Wish I had time to play the latest one... or the money...

Your stories are very different aren't they? it's like you take things that should be cheap crossovers and (from what it sounds like) are actually going to do legitimate intelligent crossovers with them? This fimfiction! you can't just do that! crossovers have to be either terrible, or stopped after the first chapter if it's a decent one. right?
Anyway, I want to see how the one where Luna dies goes, mostly because I already want to know what happened and keep reading from the description alone.
Also the unnecessarily necessary chapter is definitely necessary.
That first one looks really kewl. Hope you continue with it(And A cog in the machine). But no need to rush, education comes first.
I would say new chapters first, fat cutting later seeing as those 'fatty' chapter got ya this far. the people already on the boat would thank you more for setting sale rather then holding them up to polish the tableware some more.
I'm curious though would these 'fatty' bits be where your mean to cogy at all? I remember flipping through the comments and seeing one or two people moaning about it.

Oh for sure. Saddly, it seems to have hit a tiny bit of a snag that I haven't had the time to fix. Maybe some other day, once I actually make some progress in ACitM
The Luna's death story is also the one I want to work on the most out of the four I previewed here. The Applejack one is still kinda hanging in limbo and the Twilight one is sorta in the same snagged area as that sequel chapter is currently in. The Rainbow Dash one is actually complete planning-wise, I just need the time to work on it... but I think I'll get more mileage working on the Celestia one, which is halfway done with it's own planning stage. It won't directly follow any one game in that franchise, so that should give me the power to be as creative as humanly possible with it!
Sigh, maybe someday~

Oh hell no! Cog's pain is still the core of this story! Cutting those bits would ruin it
What I'm mostly talking about is fixing things that have proven to confuse people, shortening explanations so as to make them more understandable. The chapter with Starswirl's introduction, for example, is possibly looking at being cut into two chapters, with reworked dialogue so as to explain her motives and the nature of the underworld better. This would probably be the extent of what I will do, simply because I'm finding it increasingly hard to write these future chapters when I feel the need to re-explain things over and over again. Fixing tiny snags like these will make things run smoother (although I will admit that the way you explained your counterargument against it did make a lot of sense)
And also, thanks go to Thardoc for reminding me that I still need to read your own fic
