    Beginnings and Endings.

Hello. I still, inexplicably, get attention here. Not sure why. I don't go on Fimfiction, or write ponyfics anymore--I do however, write original fiction, yay!--or really do anything pony related. Don't consider myself a brony, though ponies are always cute, and stuff.

    Important-ish notice: Account closing down.

I won't go into the details. But this account is essentially going to become abandoned after today.

My story, Path of Fomalhaut will be getting transferred over to a new account, so for you guys, don't be confused if the author suddenly has a different name and two hundred less followers.

    Youtube, why!

They just changed their UI again and it looks bloody horrible. :facehoof: Ugh, why does Youtube keep doing this?

Not being written at 6AM, but I am tired, hungry, upset, and unmedicated. So it's close enough to my usual conditions for analysis blogs.

Motivational blog game--Twilight Sparkle! · 9:02pm Aug 27th, 2013

Greetings! Welcome to the Tuesday game!

I hope everyone remembered their notebooks! Because today's motivational game focuses on learning and socialization!

... Wait, come back, it'll be fun! Promise! Nothing mundane or boring! Only fun learning!

Now, think of this like a scavenger hunt! Those are fun right?... What? No, I didn't lock the door for the duration of this explanation, that would be siiiilly~ :twilightblush:

Now, if you haven't completed the Rainbow Dash game yet, don't feel pressured to drop that and start this one, especially since they can be done at the same time. Feel free to work at your own pace.

There is two stages to this game! The first stage is research, the second is application.

For the first stage, you will need to do the following.

1. Learn something practical today.

2. Learn something in a new field you don't know about. How? Ask a friend! Use a Library! Ask someone in this blog! Then go look up whatever sounds cool. Remember, developing new interests can open new ways to make friends, and new opportunities for your life! Never be afraid to experiment!

3. Learn something interesting in a topic you already find awesome.

4. Learn something interesting that changes your view on the world and makes it more awesome. How? Just look at how the world works and try to figure it out... or just look at some of the technology we are developing.

5. Learn an interesting bit of trivia that can be brought up as a conversation starter!

Five things to learn! Each one is worth twenty percent of your score, as such you should aim for one-hundred percent completion! Feel intimidated? Having difficulties? Don't worry, This isn't a test! You should try to get at least twenty percent! Just learn something, it'll be fun! Especially if you do it with friends. ... Don't have any? None available? That's silly, what do you think Trixie is here for?... Yes, being sexy and awesome, but also to help you out!

Now for the second stage! Application!
You know what makes learning not-fun? Learning things you'll never really need to know, ever. That's why we are learning fun, interesting, useful things!

Yay, learning!... I mean, fun!

Now, for this stage, we will use those five facts!

Did you learn something practical? Use it! Share the information with friends and family, ask them if they have any tips themselves, make your life a little more efficient!

Did you learn something from a new field? Try learning a bit more from asking people interested in it! You just might make some new friends! Didn't like it? No worries! Just try a different field next time.

Did you learn something interesting about an awesome field? Doesn't it just make learning about that topic even more awesome? You're so lucky!

Did you know that the original concept of an 'university' was to enlighten? When you come out, the knowledge you have should make everything seem new and interesting, completely flipping the world on it's head!... Alternatively, you can just learn that we have prototype mech suits now and be content with that. Depends on what you want!

Did you learn some trivia? Good! Now, let's spice things up a bit! Channel your inner Rainbow Dash for a minute, aren't you awesome? With the previous game, you proved that you have total control over how incredibly awesome your life is, as an awesome person, you should be confident enough to bring up this interesting bit of trivia up with an acquaintance! Someone you know the name of... maybe chat idly to every now and again, but don't really know. Make a new friend, or maybe just understand the people around you a little better.

As always, Trixie will be around to assist if anyone needs it, whether it's for research, finding an acquaintance, or what have you. Remember, if you have trouble being social offline, the internet still counts!

Just like the last game, you are free to 'Pass' this game and either 'Nap' it out, or do the Rainbow Dash game again. However, you are encouraged to try anyway, or even better, do both!

Unlike the Rainbow Dash game, due to the additional work involved, this is a week long game. If you'd like, you can pace things out so you learn one fact daily, then spend the weekend doing the second stage, reporting back in next Tuesday.

Regardless, this is intended to be fun, think of it like an experiment! Fun, isn't it?

That's what I thought!

Now, just remember everyone, the most important rule of all!

... Trixie is best pony, suck it Sparkle!

Right Twilight?

Yeah, that's what Trixie thought.

P.S.

While the game is intended to take a week to complete, it is also capable of being done at whatever pace you like, come on back and tell everyone what you learned and how the game went for you when you finish! Whenever that is, from a few hours to ten days.

... Trixie is having way too much fun making these. :trixieshiftleft:

Non-NSFW blog. :trixieshiftleft:

Anyway, you'll see the prizes at the end of the week.

1312269 Do you have a NSFW blog? If so I want links! :pinkiehappy: Anyways, I'm on my school's quiz bowl team, so I do this all day every day. One of the more interesting things I learned today (and then applied) is that I can build a stirling engine out of an old oil drum. I got the fucker up to 53,000 RPM!:pinkiehappy:

1312313

I have a couple clop-blogs, most of them were cleaned out though, I'll make sure you see the next one I make.

If anyone wants to learn some cool facts about nuclear power, feel free to send them to me! I know tons on the subject, and I think it's all fun stuff. I also like to teach people, so there's that too. :pinkiehappy:

This is actually a really amazing idea. I do have a friend who enjoys useless trivia and we occasionally trade it and of course, it's always good to learn things and be able to apply them. I of course do enjoy learning new things and will likely be doing this in the background of my regular activities.

may or may not do this one, we will see

What little self-confidence I have has been boosted upon the completion of Rainbow Dash's challenge... so I think I'll actually give this one a shot. :rainbowdetermined2:

Should I just PM you my results for all five parts of both stages?

I'm at college.

Is that 'nuff said?

1313036 I'm pleased to please the pleased Twiplease.

Please.

Awww, is Trixie going to cry without her little, blue hat?

Oh man, things I didn't know and find interesting, that is easy to do. I also have a couple books about interesting and weird facts, like cashews are related to poison ivy and that is why you never see them in the shell. The oil around the nut is irritating to human skin.

I also know bits and facts about physics, engineering, some math, and science in general. Anyone willing to talk about it or let me give a bit of a lecture?

1312313
That seems really fast for something that has a cylinder the size of an oil drum. How much weight was being moved and what was the stroke length?

I guess I'll just post my results here.

Stage 1:
1. I learned how to use my bandanna as a sling! (Although I am in desperate need of practice, I am starting to get the hang of it.)
2. I read about Applied Kinesiology. I have never even heard of this discipline until I arrived at college.
3. I learned that the Medico della Peste (Plague Doctors) had "lawyer" duties, such as arranging funeral, being witnesses at last testimonies, handling the paperwork for wills, etc. I found this interesting.
4. I learned that a cybernetic neuroimplant is being developed that can restore lost brain functions (such as Dementia) as well as potentially boosting the "brain power" of healthy individuals. Sounds scary, but promising.
5. I learned that both the French and American Revolutions were planned in a coffee house.

Stage 2:
1. I wouldn't say it made my life more efficient, but I think it's pretty cool to be able to turn a bandanna into an improvised range weapon. Spent about 15 minutes practicing. Might practice more when I have some time to spare.
2. I don't know anyone interested in Applied Kinesiology (not to be confused with "regular" Kinesiology). I don't even know anyone interested in pseudoscience at all, for that matter. :applecry:
3. Plague Doctors have always fascinated me. It actually took me a while to dig up some new information on them.
4. Hope for the future. Always a good thing.
5. I'm too lame to bring that fact up, and I have no friends who are really into coffee. (I personally hare coffee.) But I suppose this little fun fact may come in handy one day. Who knows?

Well, I'm finally finished! Took a while on some things, but it's worked out well enough.

Things I learned!

1: I learned how to save space in the recycling bin, since we create a lot of trash somehow.

2: I learned how to do some simple servicing on my car (my dad and brothers know cars while I don't. They taught me a couple other things as well).

3: I learned some new things about the Fukushima nuclear disaster! I was there when it happened back in 2011, and I googled around to learn more about the disaster, as I kinda put it out-of-sight, out-of-mind once we were done.

4: I learned more about the stuff in Syria, since that's a thing going on right now.

5: I learned that the 2DS looks like a wedge of cheese, or the blade end of an Axe. :pinkiehappy:

Applying my knowledge!

1: Me and my brother broke down a bunch of cardboard, because recycling is tomorrow. Yes, that's totally counts. :trixieshiftright:

2: I changed out my oil for the first time. Was a lot easier than I expected.

3: Er... not really something I intended to apply, other than to myself. Though I do point out what parts are BS, and why people shouldn't be as fearful as they tend to be.

4: I'm just hoping for the best on this one. I understand if a few of my friends end up in the area, via aircraft carrier or sub, but I don't want them to get in trouble, you know?

5: Me and J talked about it plenty! I think it's fine, she calls it hideous. But really, I've seen worse, and the 2DS doesn't look bad at all.

1313219

But... Trixie's hat is purple, Trixie is blue...

1324704
There's a difference?

1324928
Just because you have 2 X chromosomes doesn't mean you can make fun of those of us with one. I can still see colors, just not all of them!

1324985

I'm not making fun of you.

... I'm laughing at you. There's a difference.

1325011
And what, pray tell, is the difference?
