New Story: A Silent House/Story progress updates. · 10:33am May 1st, 2013
So I have a new one-shot story out, and it's called A Silent House.
The story draws some from personal experience. It's about how difficult it can be to move on with your life after someone you care about has passed away. My grandfather passed away last year, and music was one of the things that helped me deal with it, as I played a song on the violin at his funeral and the thanks and congratulations I got from my family were overwhelming.
I wanted to explore a similar theme here. This story is about Octavia, who is struggling to cope with Vinyl Scratch's death a year after it has happened. I didn't necessarily intend to write a sad story when I started this, as I try not to confine myself to genre at the beginning of the story. I had this idea, and once I wrote it, it happened to be kinda sad.
Anyway, work on the new Star-Crossed chapter has fallen a bit by the wayside because of this new fic, but now I'm back in full swing. If all goes according to plan, I should definitely be able to get the new chapter out before the end of the month, and hopefully sooner. This one's going to be a doozy.
For those of you following Malaise (if there are any of you left), I have actually started work on chapter 2. It's titled "Adjustment" and deals with Davenport's first forays into changing his everyday routine.
I also have several other projects in the works that take my time away from my established stories occasionally, and it's my hope that they will also see the light of day sometime in the future. I don't plan on publishing anything unfinished until both Star-Crossed and Malaise are concluded, so if you see a new story from me, count on it being finished.
So... yeah. I guess that's all. I hope you guys enjoy the new story and the whatnots.
Go forth and read! Fly, my pretties! Fly!
*Clears throat* Sorry. Just watched The Wizard of Oz recently. What a fantastic movie.
This blog post has really gotten off track. I guess I'll end it now.
Uh... bye.
And as usual, your work doesn't receive enough credit. You deserve a lot better than 10 thumbs up.
