My resolution this year is to stop allowing the perfect to be the enemy of the good. Huh. I've been horribly stalled on Advent for so long, and I suddenly realized I was missing a very important character sheet...the main villain! A few hours of pondering him, and fleshing out his basic motivations, and suddenly I can write again. I say strange, because I don't even need to write any of his scenes for quite a while. I do feel happier having him more solidified in my head, though.

So, seriously, is there a non-creepy way I (or a group of fans) could send flowers to Larson and the rest of the Friendship is Magic writing team? Because they clearly put a lot of work into making the show great, despite any executive meddling, and it can't feel great having so many people get all butthurt anyway.

Yerg. I just decided to split the latest Advent chapter, but the first half still keeps growing. Trying to explain magic and mesh the magical frameworks of two entirely different canons is hard, hurr durr. Thankfully neither the game nor the show are very explicit about their magic, so I have leeway...and yet again, it seems like certain parts of the two were made to go together. Re-watching Kaze no Stigma, and will try to read the manga too later. Why? Because it's awesome, but also to see if there's somewhere near the end I can link in a crossover.
