When Twilight has to attend an emergency meeting with Cadance and Shining Armor, Luna and Celestia are left to look after Flurry Heart. Chaos ensues. The royal sisters can handle ruling Equestria, but they are about to face their greatest challenge: Caring for a rambunctious little alicorn.

As the royal family grows, so does Princess Luna's happiness. She is exceptionally close to her granddaughter, Princess Edelweiss, partly because the young alicorn bears a striking resemblance to Luna’s very old friend.

Uniquely sensitive, shy, kind, and gentle, Edelweiss, nicknamed Della by her family, is rarely seen in public, preferring the company of woodland creatures over other ponies. Fluttershy becomes Della’s mentor, teaching the gifted alicorn how to best use her talents and recognizing a kindred spirit in the process.

At Cadance’s foal shower, Luna discovers a squeaky toy that Celestia chose for their unborn great-niece. Craziness ensues.

As Princess Luna’s youngest daughter, free spirited, freshly minted college dropout Princess Cassiopeia constantly feels overshadowed by her beautiful older sister, Neoma, and is still unsure about her place in the world. She often gets into trouble by constantly defying Luna and pushing every boundary that stands in her way.

As the royals gather in Silver Shoals for the summer, Cassie revels in the recklessness and freedom of the ocean, finding friendship in dolphins and other sea creatures. She has formed a uniquely close bond with a pod of magnificent orcas, and she often escapes to the sea when she needs to clear her head. Cassie’s life becomes more confusing when she discovers that she has a very special gift: The ability to summon dolphins and orcas.

As she tries to figure out how to use her newfound power to benefit Equestria, Cassie must also navigate her complicated relationship with Neoma, though the two sisters are completely different in many ways.

Dutiful, serious, steady, and dedicated to her role as a princess, Neoma often becomes frustrated with Cassie's wild personality. The two sisters have grown apart since Neoma became a wife and mother. They fight constantly throughout the summer, but Cassie still hopes they can heal their fragile relationship as Neoma struggles to come to terms with her failing marriage.

This trip will open fresh wounds, and healing may come from an unexpected source.

Rose is a talented young unicorn who has never felt like she belonged anywhere. Before each of these ponies crosses the threshold, they are automatically sent to the dream realm, where Luna grants three of their most fervent wishes, some of which are heartbreaking, uplifting, or both. This is a collection of stories of a few of those departed souls, both young and old, and the princess who gave a peaceful journey home to all of them.

On a cold winter day, before Luna’s banishment, the royal sisters found a tiny newborn Pegasus filly orphaned in the forest outside Canterlot and decided to raise the foal as their own. Luna and Celestia, who was grieving the recent loss of her stillborn colt, threw themselves into caring for little Cadance. Now, after Nightmare Moon’s defeat and Luna’s return, Cadance struggles to reconnect with the moon princess that she calls her adoptive aunt. Rated T just to be safe.

While working in the dream realm, Luna meets with a terminally ill filly and carries out a task that never gets easier, though she has performed it countless times.
