A war tears through the land of Equestria pitting the Pegasus and earth ponies against the unicorns. Stormdrift, a Pegasus from Cloudsdale only wants one thing. He wants the war to end.
Durring a war that tears through Equestria, a lone Pegasus named Storm Drift tries to find a way to end the war. During this time he will see unmentionable horrors and do things he would never do to save his home. Storm must fight his fears and put his past behind him in order to save the world he so very loves.
I step into a dream, If only it were a dream. My world has been torn by war. Pegasus ponies and Earth ponies have attacked Unicorns. It doesn't matter the age, if you were a Unicorn... you died. My name is Storm Drift. I'm a Pegasus with sadness in my heart. Why you ask? You try walking through a schoolhouse full of dead fillies and colts, see what happens. I walk the now decomposing hallways and notice a few bodies propped against the wall. I look away and kept walking. The world wasn't always like this. There was a time when ponies lived in harmony. The town was happy and alive. Then one day a Unicorn filly was brutally murdered in a fight. Apparently a Pegasus made a comment to a unicorn and the filly stood up for the unicorn. The filly was lifted 100 feet in the air and dropped to her death, leaving nothing but a horn. The earth ponies soon got word of the horrible act and wanted to fight along side the unicorns. The Pegasus ponies quickly reacted and threatened the earth ponies with death. So now its the earth ponies and the Pegasus ponies against the unicorns. Me? well lets say i'm in the middle of a war that's been going on for ten years now, and I have no intention on killing anyone... That is until today. I walk through the hallways thinking to myself that it will all be over soon, that everything will be as it was... until the explosion hit me like a brick to the head. I fell backwards and hit the ground hurting my wing.
"Son of a bitch!!" I cursed. I got up and brushed the dirt and debris.
"Who the hell did that?" I said to myself. Then i heard a faint cry coming from the direction of the blast. I ran towards the cry and my heart sank to the floor
"T-Twist?" I said with tears running down my face. Twist was like a sister to me. Now she was lying on the ground dying in front of me.
"H-hey Sthorm...." Twist said with the cutest lisp. I cried right then and there. She was an innocent child. She didn't deserve death. I fought the words out.
"H-hey there kiddo...." I said with a tear filled voice. My heart was no longer in my chest. It dropped to my stomach when i saw her wounds. A shard of glass was sticking out of her chest and she had a gash along her stomach. I walked to her and held her to my side. Twist smiled as she always did when she saw me. Something I know I would never see again.
"Listen Twist... your gonna be ok... i'll help you.. I-" Before i could finish Twist looked up at me and smiled. My hearts shattered like glass.
"Oh Sthorm I love you for making me feel better...but we know..... whats gonna...happen...." Twist said with tears in her now closing eyes.
"Twist please don't go... please!!!" I yelled till my lungs hurt. To know avail. With her last breath she spoke.
"T....tell...Applebloom.....that...I....love......." Then she died. My heart forever torn out of my chest. Twist was just a filly nothing more. She did not deserve this fate. My anger boiled to sadness and the tears fell like rain. My heart fell to the floor. I closed the little fillies eyes and kised her on the forhead.
"I...I will little one... i promise... " I said through bitter tears, my heart falling even further to the floor than before. I buried Twist under a small oak tree near the schoolhouse and wrote a small poem on the headstone. I wont recite it for fear my heart will sink further. I begin to walk away from her grave after i say a prayer until i hear laughter coming from the other side of the schoolhouse. I walk towards the laughter and i instantly freeze. It was Trixe... and a few other ponies i couldn't recognize. Her laughing made me angry, to the point of my teeth digging into my lip drawing blood. I didn't care however... Trixies blood would be the next to flow. I would make sure of it.
"Serves them right... heh... they should of fought with us, but they desided to go against us." Trixie said with a grin. Muy blood boiled to breaking point. She killed an inocent filly with no provacation. She destroyed a school house full of life, but now it is dust and debri full of death and decay. My mind stopped when i jumped from the shadows and attacked Trixie.
"How dare you...." I said with malice. Trixie grinned at me and spat in my face.
"Fuck you pegasai scum...." She said with a vile grin. I wiped her spit from my face and smiled. Trixie looked scared, like she knew i was going to kill her.
"Big mistake kid... BIG mistake..." I said as I ripped her horn from her head. She yelped in pain and kicked me off sending me into the building behind me. I smiled widely. I grabbed her horn that was laying next to me and charged her.
"Die you fucking cunt!!!" I yelled as i pounced Trixie and impaled the horn into her throat and pulled upward drowning her in her own blood. Trixie made a few sick noises then collapsed dead on the ground. I eyed the other two Unicorns and smiled widely.
"Anyoine else care to join her?" I asked menacingly. The other two Unicorns looked at me and ran. I cried again remembering why i killed Trixie. Twist was now avenged but the pain of the loss still hurt me. She was a child... Trixie had no right to hurt her. In my eyes Trixie deserved far worse a death then i gave her... I was too mercyful with her death. I should of made her suffer like she made Twist suffer. I should of drained her blood.
The day turned to night as i continued on my way. Other than just walking around aimlessly, I was on a mission. I wanted this bloodshed to end once and for all. Too many lives have been loss due to this war. It needed to end. It must end. I lost my daughter in the beginning of the war. Countless other ponies died for no reason. The element holders have either died or are missing. Word is Twilight has vanished off to god knows where and the princesses have also vanished. Oh how ponies wish they were here right now.
"Tsk... All i see is death...why is this happening....why..." I ask myself as tears begin to fill my eyes. My heart began to break into pieces. This war was tearing the world apart from the inside out. It killed me to think that this could happen to such a beautiful world. It didn't make any sense to me, how could it make sense to me? How could it make sense to anypony? My mind trailed over the question for a few minutes before i continued to walk. My heart was a little bit healed but not fully. For it to be fully healed this was will have to cease to exist.
"I have to stop this..." I thought to myself. Then i remembered how this could all end. Illumi Nite!!!! She was the key to stop this war. Only she was in the Everfree. Well then... I guess it wouldn't hurt to visit an old friend... could be fun...
I walk towards the Everfree with a heavy heart. The incidents that transpired left a hole in my heart. I watched a child die in front of my very eyes and it left me heartbroken and angry. I wiped the tears from my eyes and continued walking. The section of town I was in was completely destroyed. Not a single house was left standing and fires were starting right before my eyes. I walked past what was left of the Carousel Boutique. I saw a few earth ponies standing near the remains of the once great boutique. I walked towards it and they ran from me. Figures earth and Pegasus haven't liked each other since... well you know. I walked towards the rubble and debri and sat down by it. "Poor Rarity" I said to myself. Rarity was killed a few weeks ago. She was working on her latest masterpiece when five Pegasus ponies stormed her boutique and cornered her. Sweetie Belle woke up a few minutes too soon that day for when she did she saw one of the Pegasus grab Rarity and impale her through the spine. Sweetie Belle Shrieked and ran away. Word is they found her and killed her the next day. I lowered my head at the thought. Why do things always seem to go negative for me? Is seems this world is out to get me in the worst possible way. I continued towards the Everfree Forest while keeping an eye out for any sort of danger. As luck would have it danger found me. I saw three Pegasus walking towards me. By the look of their armor i knew they were rogues. I hid behind a house as they got closer to me and as i did they cornered an earth pony and her filly. I gritted my teeth knowing that they would kill just about anypony to get their greedy and scummish hooves on money. I listened in as i hid in the shadows from the sounds of it the earth pony was not going to make it.
"Hey Earth scum. Give us all your bits or we will kill you and your child." One of the Pegasus said with an evil grin plastered right on his face. My anger almost exploded right then and there. They would sink so low... to kill a child for a few bits pissed me off.
"Leave us alone right this instant or i will have your hide. You shall not touch my child!!" The mare cried as she brought her filly closer to her. I had more respect for her than anypony in this town, hell in all of Equestria for that matter. The Pegasus sneered as he laughed manaicly. He walked closer to the mare along with his friends. They all gave a laugh that made me cringe. They began attacking the mare and her filly with brutal force. As the mare fell her filly fell from her hooves and the leader of the rogues scooped the filly up and placed a knife at the fillies throat.
"NO MY BABY DON'T HURT MY BABY PLEASE!!!!" The mare yelled as tears streamed down her face. As she yelled a Pegasus from the group flew over and impaled the mare through the heart killing her in front of her daughter.
"MOMMY!!!!" The filly yelled. Her eyes now filling with tears of her own. The Pegasus laughed and laughed. He felt proud of what he just did. It made me sick to my stomach.
"Your turn little cunt!!!" The pegasus said as he pulled the knife away from her throat and impaling the filly in the stomach. I lost it. I charged the Pegasus and tackled him to the ground, slitting his throat with a knife of my own.
"You bastards..." I said with anger as i stared at the two remaining Pegasus. They pulled out knives smiling at me. Like they had a chance to kill me. I smiled right back only to replace the smile with a frown as i saw the filly laying on the ground whimpering quietly.
"Little bitch had what was comming to her." Said one of the Pegasus as he charged me. He died before he could swing his blade as i stabbed him in the throat and pulled upward ripping his throat out. I turned towards the final rogue and got in front of him.
"You have two options... one, you can stay here and end up like your friends, or two you can leave and be spared... not that you deserve to live you scum..." I said coldly. He attacked me. Welp theres his answer.
"Fool" I said as I grabbed him and snapped his neck killing him instantly. I threw his body down and walked towards the strong little filly who still seemed to be alive. My heart sank to the floor when i held her close to me.
"Thank- you-sir...." She said weakly. Her little blue eyes staring at me. I held her closer tears now falling down my face. She weakly lifted a hoof and wiped the tears away. I couldn't help but smile.
"You sure are a strong little filly you know that?" I said trying to keep her alive. She smiled weakly.
"Y-yeah... i guess so...." She said as she buried her face into my chest and cried. I held her closer as well crying. This little filly did nothing wrong at all. She looked up at me and put a hoof on my face. I held the hoof and cried some more.
"Thank you.... sir. You... don't...even know me and yet....you helped me..." She said with a weak smile. I smiled back giving her a slight nuzzle.
"No need to thank me kid...I am always there when danger rears its ugly head." I said as I cradled her. She looked up at me and smiled but then she nuzzled closer and began to tear up.
"Can...Can you do one last thing for me?" She asked me. My heart fell to the floor. I felt a lump in my throat.
"Of course..." I said with a crack in my voice. I began to cry a bit. She looked up at me then she held out a piece of paper.
"Sing this to me please... it's a lulaby my mom use to sing to me..." She said weakly as her eyes began to close. I looked down at the words and closed my eyes, but she wanted this. It was her final request. I began to sing:
Roses await you in your dreams Heavens grace seems too close to me I love you more than i could ever hope to So now the time has come to lay down your head And dream of tomorrows wonders as you fall asleep I shall take all your fears away And leave you roses in their wake
The little filly smiled and then closed her eyes for the final time. I held her little body closer to me and cried for hours. This little filly died in my hooves and it was the act of evil that smited her. I found a spot near some rose bushes and buried her there. Roses did lay at her feet, just as the poem said they would. I said a prayer and continued to walk down the road, my heart still sinking from what i just witnessed. As i continued i saw yet another disturbance only this time a familiar face was taking care of it.
"Just let us through unicorn scum and we will let you live." Said a Pegasus. The familiar unicorn smiled.
'Really now?" The Unicorn said as she hoisted the Pegasus up and put him right in her face. The other Pegasus ran off. To me that was the wisest thing they have done today.
"Hey take it easy..." Said the Pegasus only to be met with a powerful hoof across the face. I smiled a little.
"Fool now you die.." The unicorn said as she snapped the Pegasus' neck and threw him off a cliff. I made sure the coast was clear before greeting my longtime friend.
"Well Illumi Nite your doing well i suppose..." I said with a chuckle, but then she attacked me with a bolt of magic that sent me into a building. My spine felt like it broke in five places.
"What the hell!?" I yelled to her, only to be sent into another building by her magic. It hurt like hell i must admit.
"You fool... where were you when i needed you!?" Illumi Nite said with a growl. My fear took over as it would whenever Illumi Nite was pissed off. I backed away only to be lifted by an auroa and smashed against a tree.
"Illumi Nite please i didn't know... I'm sorry..." I pleaded with her not to kill me. She yelled in anger and slammed me again only this time she put her horn to my throat. Now i was scared. I knew if she wanted to kill me she would.
"YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I LOST STORM!!!! MY CHILD IS DEAD!!!!" Illumi Nite yelled as shde pressed the horn closer to my juggular. The fear in my heart now doubled i began to cry.
"Then let me help you!!" I screamed. Illumi Nite looked at me and then let me go. She looked down and began to cry.
"Why would you help me now?... you weren't there when they killed her..." Illumi Nite said with sorrow in her voice. I walked over to her and put a hoof on her shoulder. She looked at me with tears streaming down her face.
"Cause i've seen things simmilar to your daughters fate Illumi Nite. Things that made me lose my cool as well. I want this to all end and i want harmony to come back but i can't do that without your help... please.... help me..." I pleaded with her. She looked up at me and nodded.
"Let us go then... let us smite the one who killed all the harmony..."
Illumi Nite and I began our treck back to ponyville...or what was left of ponyville. While we were walking i thought about Illumi Nite's words from before. "Let us go then... let us smite the one who killed all the harmony..."
I looked at the ground and frowned. Who would kill harmony? Whjy would anypony want to get rid of that? These questions ate me until Illumi Nite spoke up.
"Why do you think i can save this world Storm?" She asked me, her eyes trained on mine. I thought about it for a while. Why did i go to her? I thought and thought and before i could say something We both heard a scream.
"Get away from me.... HELP!!!!!" A frantic voice yelled from the direction of the scream. Illumi Nite and I ran towards the scream and saw a sight truly horrific. Fluttershy's wings were being torn off by a group of Unicorns. My heart stopped when i saw it. I ran towards the group only to be cut off by Illumi Nite.
"Leave these foals to me..." She said with malace in her voice. The Unicorns looked towards us and ran for me. "oh looky here another worthless pegasus!!!" One of them sneered. Before he could get to me he was lifted by a magical auroa and slammed to the ground.
"You foal.... I told you to seek the ones who were causing a ruckess now I shall kill you...' With that Illumi Nite slowly started to rip the Unicorn apart. She started by ripping his horn from his head causing him to scream in agony. She then took the horn and impaled him through the chest but only deep enough to cause him pain. Illumi Nite smiled a sick twisted smile as she pulled one of the Unicorns ribs out and stabbed him repeatedly with his own rib bone. I had to look away for fear of losing whatever I ate. After the death of that unicorn the other two wisely fled. I then turned my attention to Fluttershy who was now whimpering in agony. I rushed to her side and sat by her laying her down on my lap. My anger was on the verge of exploding. Fluttershy was like me. She didn't want a fight. She didn't want to hurt her friends. Fate had other plans though and now she lay helpless in my lap crying her eyes out.
"Shhhh... it's ok Flutter I'm here and so is Illumi Nite. We are going to help you ok? I know it hurts but I will find a way to heal you... I promise..." I said as I stroked her bloodstained mane, tears threatening to escape my eyes. Fluttershy looked up at me and whimpered again only to bury her head in my chest. I held her there for what seemed like forever till Fluttershy broke the silence.
"What happened to our world?" She asked with tears still flooding her eyes. I looked around the area and began to tear up as well. All around me is death and chaos... no harmony in sight. dead bodies of foals who barely begun life and for what... to ensure a dominant race? To make one race be wiped from exsistance? There was no reason for it. Illumi Nite spoke then.
"You want to know what happened? Harmony died kid that's what happened. We thought this day would never come. We thought that we were safe from war and all its nightmarish ways. Then we found out the cold hard truth... No one can escape war's cry... We fell to it's song and everypony paid the price. We are all such foals..." She said with tears in every word. I let what Illumi Nite said sink in for a moment. She was right. We fell to the song of war.
"We need to end this... there has to be a way to stop this..." I said to my friends. they all nodded in agreement. Fluttershy tried to get up but she quickly fell back down. I held her back up and smiled.
"Let me help you Flutter your in pretty bad shape." I said as I smiled. Fluttershy blushed. I have to admit... she is cute when she wants to be. I looked around and frowned. The place we were in was all but destroyed. I looked to Illumi Nite who was already a step ahead of us. She blew a hole in a building and led the way to the other side of the town. When we got there our hearts sank to the floor. A lone filly was crawling across the street helplessly trying to escape something. Then we found out what it was she was attempting to get away from. A pack of timber wolves broke from the forest and were on top of her before we could do anything. They began to rip her wings off and they tore a gash in her stomach ripping her insides out killing her instantly. I fell to my knees and cried as did Fluttershy. The only one not crying was Illumi Nite. She just stood there watching the wolves feast on the filly then she collapsed to the ground crying.
"Why..." She said through tears that now stained the ground. I walked over to her to comfort her and she threw me to the ground, her eyes glew a deep red in color. I was terrified. She advanced for me only to be stopped by Flutter.
"Illumi Nite please don't!!! he didn't hurt anyone!!!" Fluttershy said only to be thrown back by a hoof to the face.
"Don't touch me...." Illumi Nite said coldly. I got up and ran for Flutter who was now unconscious and bleeding out of her nose. I lost it. I charged Illumi Nite with blood in my mind. I tackled her to the ground.
"WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!" I yelled to no avail as she just looked at me and glared.
"Why? cause I am tired of seeing this!!! and I am tired of ponies telling me its going to be okay!!! look around you Storm!!! how is this okay? you tell me how any of this is okay?" She said as tear fell from her eyes. I looked around and saw the carnage and the death. Memories of before raced through my head. Memories of happy little fillies and colts going to school and ponies just living their lives. Then I remembered the bombs and the death surrounding me. None of it was okay and Illumi Nite knew that. I swallowed hard to fight the tears only to release them.
"It's not okay.... it's just.... not okay but we can fix this... I-" Before I could finish I was cut off by Illumi Nite.
"OH SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT SAVING THIS PLACE STORM!!!! LOOK AROUND HERE HOW CAN WE SAVE THIS!!!!" She yelled. I froze but spoke up.
"We need to try Illumi Nite... We need to try..." I said calmly. That did it she wrapped her hooves around me and cried. I held her closer as she let her emotions go. Losing her daughter killed her on the inside, and to top it off the war took yet another toll on her. Flutter woke up not long after and helped me calm her down.
"I am so sorry Flutter please forgive-" Fluttershy put a hoof over her mouth.
"You already have been forgiven." She said. Illumi Nite smiled and hugged Fluttershy. Before we could get up though we heard a familiar voice. It was Celestia only... more sinister sounding.
"Heheheh well well well what do we have here?" She said mockingly. I froze in place.
"What are you doing here?!" I yelled at the former sun goddess. Celestia Cackled with pleasure. She met me with a piercing gaze.
"I have come to finish this war.... All of you shall die for this sin of war!!!!" She yelled. Then right then I knew we were doomed.
I fell to my knees trying to figure out what has happened here. Our leader, a pony that we loved more than anything was now trying to kill us, and for what I do not know. Fluttershy was on the verge of tears. Illumi Nite was silent as the wind. I took a step towards Celestia and glared at her.
"Why are you doing this!!!? we did nothing to you!!!" I yelled only to be met by Celestia's hoof across my face. The blow sent me into a building then Celestia was on top of me her eyes the color of coal. I was terrified.
"Yes you did you pathetic insect.... You ponies decided to destroy my kingdom with war!!!" Celestia screamed. My mind was racing as was my heart. She was right we ponies destroyed her home with this disgusting war. I looked at the crazed princess and began to cry.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry we did this... We as ponies thrive on harmony and love... now we thrive on death and destruction... I want it to end... I just want it to go away..." I placed my face into my hooves and began to cry. Illumi Nite took site of this and she rushed over and threw the princess off me. I looked up and smiled warmly at her. not that I ... or we deserved happiness.
"Calm yourself princess... we all want this to end!!! We all want to see the harmony returned!!!" She yelled as tears fell from her face. Fluttershy stood her ground as well and before Celestia could speak Fluttershy spoke.
"Um... I am with both of them!!! I never asked for this war... nopony did Celestia!!! If you kill us ponies then you would be no better then us..." She said sounding confident. A loud growl was heard coming from Celestia's throat.
"You foals.... THERE IS NO END!!!! YOU CAN NOT STOP THIS MADNESS!!! IF THERE WAS I WOULD OF ENDED IT A LONG TIME AGO!!! NONE OF YOU KNOW OF WARS DARKNES!!!" I lost it I charged the Princess and tackled her to the ground seething with hatred.
"HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT!!!??? THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY OUT OF THIS!!! THERE IS ALWAYS A SILVER LINING SOMEWHERE!!!" My anger scared her. Fear was coursing through her very being, and she deserved every minute.
"How can you say we don't know of wars darkness?... I watched three foals who have barley begun to live die in front of me!!!! I saw...." I stopped as tears streamed down my face. My heart now a broken toy in my chest.
"Harmony died in front of our eyes and you watched us fall.... YOU NEVER EVEN TRIED TO STOPP IT!!! YOU FUCKING WATCHED MILLIONS OF PONIES DIE!!!" I sat there seething and crying my emotions couldn't keep up. Celestia looked at me and frowned. For the first time since I've met her... since her first day as princess I saw her cry. I got off her and frowned. My body fell to the floor and I began to cry as well. Fluttershy silently stood there as tear fell from her face. Illumi Nite walked over to me and Celestia and spoke up breaking the silence and stopping our sobs of agony.
"Look we all have a common goal here... let us work together and stop this madness... once and for all..." She said. We all looked at Celestia and she nodded.
"Let us smite this war once and for all!!!" She yelled. We all smiled and continued forward with new found hope aiding our journey every step of the way. Celestia was now on our side but some part of me didn't trust her. She did try to kill us the moment she set foot in Ponyville. I shook the feeling and continued walking towards wherever Celestia was dragging us to.
"No disrespect your highness but where in the fuck are we?" I said with hesitation. Celestia gave me a look that shut me up pretty quickly. She sighed and spoke.
"We are in the hall of the elements. A place where the Elements of harmony use to reside... now nothing lies here except death and destruction. the elements have long vanished after the war begun... leaving me and my sister with no way to end the war ourselves..." Celestia looked at the ground fury enveloping her.
"Princess... do you know where the elements are?" Illumi Nite asked. To her surprise the Princess smiled. To be honest... The question made me smile as well. Of course she knew where they were. She is royalty after all.
"They are hidden away in the Everfree forest..." With that Fluttershy's eyes got big with fear.
"T-T-the E--everfree....F---Forest?" She stuttered. Me and Illumi Nite walked over to Fluttershy and smiled warmly at the scared mare.
"Don't worry Flutter... we will help you.." I said trying to calm the Mare down. It didn't work Fluttershy grabbed hold of me and begged.
"Please don't make me go in there that where they killed Rarity!!!" She cried. My heart fell to the floor. Illumi Nite gave a look of horror. Celestia just stood there. silent as the night sky that lingered over us.
"We have no other choice... I'm sorry... we must enter the Everfree to regain the elements!!"
"B-B-but it's so....dark...." Fluttershy weakly said from under her mane. I have to admit when Fluttershy is like this even in the middle of a war that could kill us all in a second... She was so adorable! I shook the feeling of warmth away and helped Fluttershy to her feet and smiled warmly at the cowering mare.
"Hey ill be there for you every step of the way..." I said as I smiled at the mare. It worked as Fluttershy blushed a deep red and smiled back. Illumi Nite caught sight of it as did Celestia.
"Ok love birds lets keep moving... you can kiss each other later..." Illumi Nite joked. Celestia chuckled and my face went deep red.
"Ha ha very funny..." I grumbled. We continued down the path towards the Everfree and reached our destination. The forest hasn't changed even after the war. It was still as dark and desolate as I remember it. The only thing that is different about it was the blood... It was everywhere. I shuddered as did Fluttershy, but Illumi Nite and Celestia just gave blank stares. I kind of figured they would... they have seen horrors unimaginable as have I. Blood only bothers me cause... well once you've seen enough of it... it gets to you. We continued to walk deeper into the blood soaked Everfree when suddenly we heard a strange but familiar voice.
"H--Help....M--Me....p--please...." The voice said. Fluttershy shuddered at the sight of what came out of the shadows. It was Pinkie Pie only she was covered in blood and weak from hunger. I rushed over to her side as did Illumi Nite and Celestia. My heart dropped to the floor. I then saw Illumi Nite's eyes go blood red. Now I was terrified. Fear was shadowed by sorrow however as I began to help pinkie to her feet.
"Pinkie who did this to you?" Illumi Nite said through tears of both sorrow and anger. My own emotions were getting the better of me now.
"Th-They came out of nowhere... They..." Before she could finish Pinkie passed out in my arms. Tears began to cascade down my face. Suddenly I heard a voice from behind the trees an all too familiar, chilling voice. I looked to where the voice came from and I saw a sight I thought I wouldn't see again. The two accomplices who were with Trixe came out of the shadows smiling a wicked and twisted smile.
"Heh.. well well well... who do we have here?" The older of the pair said with a sickening laugh. He approached me and got in my face.
"I think its the fucker who killed Trixe... oh where are my manners... my name is Dark Osiris... that's Grimm Moon...but enough of that... now we kill you..." Osiris said. All of a sudden he grabbed me with magic and flung me into a tree breaking my wing. The pain was unbearable, but I wasn't given a chance to recover. Grimm stabbed me in the leg with a dagger and held me down for his brother to finish me off. Just as he was going in for the kill I heard a sickening snap. I opened my eyes and saw a black aura surrounding Osiris, then another sickening snap came from him. I looked up to see Illumi Nite snapping his neck with magic. I almost puked, my stomach was churning at the sound of Osiris' neck snapping like a pretzel. Before Grimm could do anything Celestia blew him to pieces, showering me with guts and blood. I tried to move away from the scene only to fall back down whimpering in pain. Fluttershy came to my aid faster then light.
"Storm!!! are you ok?!" She yelled as tears started to form in her eyes. I smiled and placed a hoof on her shoulder. She looked at me and gave a weak smile back.
"I'm fine Flutter... nothing I cant handle" I said with a chuckle. Celestia and Illumi Nite did not share my laugh however. I looked at my wing and frowned. I knew I wasn't going to be doing any moving at all. As I tried to move Celestia lifted me onto her back and started to walk. I will be honest... it sucked. I felt as if I were being treated like a foal, but I didn't complain as it was quite a comfortable ride. Pinkie was being carried by Illumi Nite, sadly pinkie was still unconscious. It made us all angry seeing pinkie pie like this. She use to be such a happy mare, until her daughter was killed... and before all this shit went down. Celestia walked closer to Illumi Nite as if she knew I wanted to see pinkie. Needless to say I did. When she got me close enough I began to stroke pinkies mane in an attempt to comfort her in her sleep. Pinkie woke up for a moment and smiled at me.
"Were here.' I heard Celestia say. I looked up and frowned. a cave? Why would the Elements be here?
"Um.. Celestia mind explaining why we are standing outside a cave?" I asked with curiosity. She stared at me with fire in her eyes.
"The Elements are inside this cave... I am sure of it..." Celestia said. Fluttershy bravely looked at the cave Pinkie however was in no condition to go inside... I got off of Celestia's back and walked over to Pinkie Pie.
"I will stay here with Pinkie Princess..." I said as I placed Pinkie on the ground and lay near her. Illumi Nite shook her head.
"No I will... Storm help the princess." she said. I went to protest only to be stopped by Pinkie's hoof. She smiled and nuzzled me.
"G-go Storm...stop this... madness.... ill...be fine...." Pinkie said with a weak smile. I smiled and nodded. I looked towards the princess and began to walk inside of the cave. Inside the cave was dark and murky, each step echoing off the black, waterlogged walls. The cave scared me silly but I wouldn't allow the fear to show. Fluttershy on the other hand wasn't fairing as well. She was terrified of the place.
"I--I hope the Elements are here..." Fluttershy said with a shaky voice. I walked over to her and placed a hoof on her shoulder.
"like I said Flutter.. I will be here for you if you get scared.." I said with a smile. Fluttershy smiled only to be cut off by Celestia.
"I found them!!!!" She yelled. Flutter and I nodded and grabbed the elements, running out of the cave. As we were coming up on the mouth of the cave, We were stopped by a grotesque sight. Illumi Nite was lying on the ground near Pinkie covered in blood, her body covered in arrows shaped like lighting bolts. Illumi Nite was growling at her attacker. We looked towards where she was growling and saw a sight that made Fluttershy drop to the ground sobbing. There hovering in the air was a crazed cyan Pegasus one we all knew.... Rainbow Dash.
"You thought you could end this war? How funny!!! I started this war... and I will finish it!!!" Dash said with a sadistic look in her eyes. I dropped as well. Dash was legend for her loyalty to the princess... why would she do this? I looked at Illumi Nite and ran to her aid. She was unconscious but alive... pinkie was scared as a filly. This made me angry and I glared at Dash.
"How dare you... You fucking bitch!!!" I screamed. Celestia was too busy healing Illumi Nite and Pinkie Pie, leaving me face to face with the devil.
"Storm, Storm, Storm... I forgot how foolish you can be...why you ask? Cause i'm sick of harmony!!!! we need some action here!!" She said with a sick chuckle. I lost it. I flew at her tackilng her to the ground placing a dagger at her throat.
"Ill kill you... FOALS HAVE DIED!!! LITTLE KIDS HAVE DIED CAUSE OF THIS AND YOUR SAYING WE NEEDED SOME ACTION!!!? YOU SICK FUCK!!!!" I was thrown off her and slammed to the ground. Rainbow dash was ontop of me glaring into my soul with her eyes. I was terrified. Never have I seen so much hatred and bloodthirsty thoughts in one ponies eyes.
"You foal... I will wipe this place clean!!... starting with the insolent Unicorn scum!!!!" She yelled as she attacked a vulnerable Illumi Nite. I reached out to stop her only to see Celestia jump in front of Illumi Nite taking the blow. Celestia lay limp against a tree, blood pouring from her chest. I lost it I grabbed the nearest object and charged Dash. Kill her. that's all that was on my mind. I went to swing at her only to be stopped by Fluttershy.
"STOP!!! STOP THIS FIGHTING!!!" she yelled as tears fell from her eyes. I dropped my weapon and held her.
"Flutter.... why?" I asked only to be met with Fluttershy's hoof across the face. I fell to the ground in shock. Shje had one hell of a right hook.
"WHY!!? LOOK AROUND YOU STORM!!! DO YOU SEE WHAT WE ARE DOING WITH THIS FIGHTING!!? CELESTIA IS DEAD!!! DEAD BECAUSE OF THIS WAR!!! HELL PINKIE ALMOST DIED AND YOUR FRIEND ILLUMI NITE WOULD BE DEAD!!! THIS NEEDS TO STOP THIS JUST NEEDS---" before she could finish a blade shot through her stomach. Warm blood splashed my face. Fluttershy looked at the blade protruding from her body. The blade was ripped from her body and she fell backwards revealing her attacker. Dash was holding the now bloody knife in her hooves.
"That shut her up..." Dash said while licking the blood from the blade. I lost it. I fucking lost it. I grabbed a stick and impaled dash in the skull with it killing her instantly. "BITCH!!!!" I yelled stabbing her again and again in the face with it. Illumi Nite stopped me and held me close as I cried. I broke free and rushed to Fluttershy's side.
"Fluttershy!!! please don't go!!!! please!!!" I yelled as I held Fluttershy in my arms. Pinkie heard everything and ran over seeing her friend dying. She lost it as well and grabbed Illumi Nite and cried. Fluttershy weakly smiled.
"S--Storm.... I-I... i'm sorry...I hit...you...I..." I stopped her and held her closely, tears now falling from my face onto hers. By this point Illumi Nite was crying.
"D-don't be Flutter... you did the right thing...you..." Flutter put a hoof to my mouth and smiled weakly before exhaling sharply.
"Storm... I... love--you..." I held her closer crying uncontrollably into her bloody chest. Illumi Nite and Pinkie walked up to me and placed their hooves on my shoulder. Fluttershy died in my arms a short while later. I closed her eyes and kissed her on the lips.
"Goodnight Fluttershy...sweet dreams...." I said through the now cascading tears. We found a spot to bury her and had a funeral for her and Celestia. Me, Pinkie, and Illumi Nite stood there silently crying at the loss of two brave ponies. I was crying more for the loss of Fluttershy. She was braver then ever today. She stood up to Dash, and she faced me and won. I sighed and a tear escaped my eye. Illumi Nite stroked my mane to comfort me and Pinkie nuzzled me.
"You ok?" Illumi Nite said with sorrow in her voice. I nodded, tears still falling from my eyes. I shook off my sorrow and grabbed a guitar ive hidden in the forest and began playing a song: Dear sorrow escape us please go away pain Be washed away by the rain May peace and love Forever take your place While you dance in the suns embrace A rose for you A moment too soon To see how far you would go Now I see an angel to be Dancing in the clouds above May you forever walk In sunshine's grace As roses and angels cry the night away Goodbye my love Goodbye my sweet I hope to see you again Until that day I will pray For you to come back one day
I placed my guitar on the ground beside Fluttershy's grave and kissed it. I did the same for Celestia's. Illumi Nite and Pinkie walked towards the graves and placed the elements at the gravesite. I gave a bow and said a few words of prayer. Just then the sun rose above the clouds shining on the two grave. I gave a small smile and walked away.
TWO YEARS LATER
A meeting was held in Ponyville. The war has been over for two years now. The pain from the war still fresh in everyponies mind. Including mine. The meeting was to celebrate the lives of the ponies who died in the war and a statue was built in their memory. At one of the statues a smiling Pegasus was erected. Fluttershy the element of kindness, died two years ago at the hands of Dash, a pony famed for her loyalty. Dash is dead as well but no statue has been erected for her. Celestia's statue loomed over the rest... the loss of a princess was hard to deal with. Twilight sparkle took over as princess of Canterlot, still haunted by the events two years ago. She felt sadness, and betrayal. I was appointed to head of the royal guards, a job I hold very dear to my heart in memory of a great leader and a great friend. After a speech by Twilight and a long line of ponies sharing stories of loved ones the day finally came to a close. I walked towards the statues and sat down by Fluttershy's. I gave a small sigh and started to sing:

From behind me I heard a small laugh. It was Twilight. I smiled at her but suddenly I felt a wave of sorrow come over me. She was closer to Fluttershy then anypony... even me.
"Singing to her again Storm? That's nice of you..." She said with a warm smile on her face. I forced a smile onto my face and nodded.
"Y-yeah... It's a lullaby I sung during the war... It helps me through the pain..." I said through tears and sadness. Twilight frowned and walked over to my side placing a hoof on my shoulder.
"Storm... listen... hiding your emotions is bad for you... I'm here for you if you need somepony to talk to..." She said rubbing my shoulder and softly nuzzling me. I smiled warmly at her.
"That would be nice.. thank you twi. " I said. She smiled and we walked the long road back to the castle leaving behind a friendship that even war could not destroy.
