The Start of Something New (Revision of Chapter 01)

View Online

Fluttershy sighed with frustration as she put another tome down on the growing pile next to her, reaching for another tome with little to no enthusiasm. There were only two tomes left to read, and so far she had found little to no information on what she was searching for.

Unknown to most of her friends, she had always harbored a deep fascination for magic, specifically a branch of magic that had vanished long ago due to it going out of practice among those who had used it. The lost art was called Tattoo magic, kind magic that aloud pegasi to use magic without the use of a horn. The art itself had been created and perfected by the ancient pegasi, drawing on their already existing magical abilities and making it so that they could use it for more than just weather control.

But after the founding of Equestria, the art had slowly gone out of practice, till it had finally died out over a thousand years ago. Sure, there had been many tries to resurrect it, but they had all failed, mostly due to the unicorns labeling it as a danger due to what was required to cast it.

With a sigh at that last thought, she skimmed through the new tome, looking for anything that might hint at how to bring the art back to life, but sighed again as she found nothing conclusive.

After grabbing the last tome reading it, she placed it down on the stack, depression setting in. These books had been her last hope, her last chance to fulfill a dream her mother had given her when she was little.

Fluttershy’s mother was descendant from some of the greatest of the Pegasi practitioners in the lost art, but like all the others, they too had given up their art and all that was left of their heritage was stories of their magical might, though those two were fading as well.

She looked back at the pile of books, a frown forming on her face as she got up, grabbing her saddle bags. “I guess I better go return these to Twilight so she can send them back to Canterlot.”

As she put the books in her bag her thoughts drifted to Twilight, smiling a bit as she thought of her bookish friend. She had been highly curious as to what Fluttershy was looking for, but Fluttershy had kept quiet about what specifically she was looking for, only that she was interested in learning about magic.

Of course, this line of thinking led her to Princess Celestia, like it always did when she was thinking of these things. Celestia had lived for thousands of years, and she would have been around during the time to possibly learn of the lost art, but she couldn’t just ask the Princess for help.

She needed somepony she knew, a friend who she could talk to, who had lived during that time and could have learned of those arts. But as she racked her brain, the only pony she could think of was…

“Luna,” she said out loud, grabbing the rest of the books and running out the door, not even bothering to check on her animals as she left. She understood of coarse why she hadn’t thought of Luna right off the bat, for she had only become friends with her a few months back, but this was the perfect solution to her predicament. Luna was a friend, a pony she could feel comfortable asking about things regardless of the fact that she was a ruler of Equestria.

She reached the library in record time, well for her anyway, knocking lightly on the door and waiting patiently outside. Soon enough though the door opened, and Twilight poked her head out, smiling when she saw it was Fluttershy.

“Come on in,” said Twilight; opening the door wider to allow the usually timed mare into her library, noting the happy spring in her step. “Wow Fluttershy, what’s got you so happy today? Did you find what you were looking for in those books?”

“No, but I found a solution to my problem,” said Fluttershy, “do you think you could write a letter to Princess Luna?”

“Sure, but why do you need to get in contact with her?”

“Well it’s regarding the bit of magic I wanted to look up, everything I could find said it went out of practice over a thousand years ago, so I was going to head to Canterlot to talk with Luna and see if she knew anything about it. I wanted you to write the letter to ask her if it would be ok if I came over to visit, that is...if you don't mine writing it for me?”

Twilight looked sort of surprised at this, for she was not used to Fluttershy being so excited, as well as her planning a trip alone to Canterlot. Whatever Fluttershy had been looking for seemed really important to her, and that only increased Twilight's curiosity as to what it was she was looking for.

“Do you promise to tell me what exactly you’re looking up when you get back?”

“Of course,” responded Fluttershy, smiling at her as Twilight grabbed a piece of parchment and quill and began to write out the letter to Luna.

Luna sat in her bed chambers, the daylight creeping in through her black curtains and stinging her eyes. She had been going over some ancient volumes of late; she was still learning everything that had changed over her thousand year disappearance. As she went to grab another tome however, a magical green flame appeared in the air, which startled her as it expelled a scroll addressed to her, which she grabbed with her magic. She knew who the scroll was from of course, she had seen hundreds in her sister’s study, but she had never once had one addressed to her before that was sent via Twilight's dragon companion.

Curious as to what might lay inside, she unrolled it, thinking it must be important, and began to read.

Dear Princess Luna

I’m sorry for not talking to you in a while, it’s been rather busy here in Ponyville and I have not had a chance to visit. I’m writing today to ask if Fluttershy can come over and visit, she has been delving into the fields of magical research and wanted go over some things with you about a particular field she was looking into, for it seems to have gone out of practice a long time ago and she had hopes that you might know more about it.

Your friend

Twilight Sparkle

Luna looked at the letter in surprise, digesting the letters contents and rolling them around as she thought. A visit from Fluttershy to study magic, this struck the moon princess most odd.

From all their brief encounters, Luna had gauged her as the timid one out of all their friends, so to hear that she was researching magic, and making such an impromptu visit to Canterlot to see her was unusual. But something else intrigued her about the letter, the part about old magic, which reminded her of another who had sought to talk to her on a similar issue.

Regardless of the intriguing circumstances, she could not ignore the opportunity to help strengthen her friendship with Fluttershy. Out of all her new friends, she hadn’t spent that much time with Fluttershy, and this would be a wonderful opportunity to get to know the mare better.

She grabbed a quill and parchment then, quickly writing a response and telling Twilight that she would love for Fluttershy to come and visit, and that she was more than willing to help with whatever the mare needed. She then used her magic to send the message and then waited a bit, not at all surprised when another scroll appeared a few moments later, which she caught and unrolled to read.

Dear Princess Luna

Thank you for your quick response, Fluttershy was so excited she bounced out the door like Pinkie Pie if you can believe it. I have never seen her this happy before, and I hope you can help her with whatever she is looking for. I will probably be in Canterlot in a few days myself, so I will be seeing you soon.

Your friend

Twilight Sparkle

Luna smiled at that, glad that her answer had caused such joy in one of her friends. She then got up, deciding that she would meet Fluttershy at the train station, for it would make getting to the palace much faster. So with that thought in mind she teleported, leaving her history books forgotten on the bedside table.

Fluttershy walked off the train into the station, smiling as she spotted a familiar form parting the crowd to meet her. She walked up to the lunar princess, hugging her in that way friends do when they haven’t seen each other in a long while, before backing away to let the mare speak.

“It is wonderful to see you again Fluttershy,” said Luna, looking down at the yellow pegasus with a smile on her face. “I was surprised when I received your letter, very unusual request on your part.”

“Well I figured you would be the best option to ask about the branch of magic I’m looking up, next to your sister you’re the only one who might know about it.”

“And what sort of magic would that be,” said Luna as they walked, “I find myself highly curious about what you have been up to.”

“Um, could we not talk about it out here, I don’t know how ponies might react if I spoke about it.”

Now Luna was very curious, and quickly teleported them to her room in the castle. “Why don’t you take a seat, I’ll go get us something to eat ok?”

Fluttershy nodded, taking a seat on the couch as Luna quickly grabbed some things for them to eat, and then sat down. “So what kind of magic was it you were looking into my dear Fluttershy?”

“Um…I…I was hoping you know about the pegasi art of tattoo magic?”

Luna gave her a surprised look, a little shocked that she had asked her that. “Why…why yes I do know of it, I trained under the finest practitioner of the art at the time, a mare by the name of Fleeting Steps if I remember…”

She was interrupted by a loud squee of delight from the little mare, who began bouncing around the room with glee like a certain pink pony she knew before stopping in front of Luna. “You were taught by my ancestor Fleeting Steps, my mom used to tell me stories about her all the time, do you think you can teach me what she taught you about tattoo magic?”

Again Luna looked at her with surprise, wondering if this was the same mare she had met all those months ago. “You want me to teach you how to use tattoo magic?”

Fluttershy nodded excitedly, “Yes I do, I’ve wanted to learn about it ever since I was a little foal. My mom used to tell me all sorts of stories about that kind of magic, about how it allowed pegasi to use their magic just like the unicorns did, and I always wanted to give it a try, for from what I heard it becomes like second nature to any pegasi that practices it, so please will you teach me.”

Luna was then hit with one of the most adorable faces she had ever seen, a pleading look she was sure should be banned for the shear amount of daww it was causing to rise within her. “You cannot say no to that face,” said a voice inside her head, “You shall not say not to that face!”

Luna cleared her throat to quite her mind, and then spoke to the waiting mare, “Very well, it would be my pleasure to share your heritage with you Fluttershy.”

She then squeaked as Fluttershy grabbed her up in a hug, feeling the mare bury her face in her chest as she hugged her tight, “Thank you.”

Luna smiled, and then returned the hug with a gentle one of her own. “You are quite welcome my friend, now let us retire for the day, for I work better at night.”

Fluttershy nodded, then let go of Luna, going over to the couch to lie down, only to have Luna pick her up with her magic. “Luna, what are you doing?!”

“No friend of mine is going to sleep on the couch, you shall be sharing my bed during your stay; it’s big enough for the both of us I think.”

Fluttershy didn’t struggle, but inside she was panicking out of control, not really knowing what to do about this situation. Now it wasn’t well known to her friends, all save Rainbow and Rarity of course, but Fluttershy wasn’t exactly what you would call an innocent pony in terms of what happened behind barn doors.

In some circles, it could even be said she had…been around the town…a couple of times. That’s not to say she was a whorse, no nothing like that, she just didn’t mind sharing herself with a pony when the mood arose.

Of course Fluttershy did have rules when it came to her…“special friends,” and at the moment she was about to break one of her own personal rules, “don’t share a bed with somepony you have not made arrangements with, it complicates matters.”

But there was no way she could say no to Luna, for she had something Fluttershy wanted beyond a beautiful body…a very beautiful body.

“Fluttershy get a hold of yourself, she has something you have been wanting since you were a little filly, just keep this professional, it doesn’t have to go there…unless she brings it up.”

She had been so lost in her thoughts she had not realized she had been placed on the bed, softly eeping when she felt Luna wrap herself around her, moving her head under Fluttershy’s chin to get comfortable. “This feels nice,” said Luna, “it has been long since we have lain with a mare like this…it’s nice.”

Fluttershy’s panic immediately ebbed, her loving nature taking hold as she rested comfortably against Luna, greeting sleep like an old friend as her worries washed away.

The Awkward Reveal (Revision of Chapter 02)

Fluttershy awoke to the sound of Luna’s breathing, deciding not to lift her head as she simply enjoyed the feeling of the other mare underneath her. She had to admit it was nice to just be with a mare this way, providing the simple comfort of closeness instead of intimacy.

Under normal circumstances, like if they had made an arrangement beforehoof, Fluttershy would have expected to be paid for this kind of service, but she figured that she could make an exception. After all, Luna was a princess of Equestira, and plus in a way she was already paying Fluttershy, and in her opinion the magic she would be learning was well worth the minor breach in her personal rules.

She looked up to see that it was almost night time, and gently shook Luna, trying to wake her up.

“Mm…Clover…” said Luna, rolling over as she started to wake.

Fluttershy looked surprised at this, but kept silent about what she had heard, instead straightening herself as Luna rose from the bed. “Good night Luna, did you sleep well?”

“Better than I have in a thousand years, I thank thee Fluttershy. Now-” she said, getting up off the bed as Fluttershy followed her, “-let us head out to the gardens, there we shall start thine lessons in thy lost art.”

Fluttershy nodded excitedly, following happily as they headed through the hallways toward the doors that led to the gardens. But as they got their Fluttershy suddenly remembered something and quickly got Luna’s attention.

“What is it dear Fluttershy?” asked Luna

“Um princess,” said Fluttershy, “I just realized I left some business unattended back in Ponyville, so I need to get in contact with a business associate of mine to explain to her the situation, do you think you could send a letter for me?”

Luna gave her a quizzical look, “business associate, I thought thee just worked alone with thine animals?”

Fluttershy looked around a moment, and then looked back at Luna with a strange glance, “can you keep a secret?”

Luna nodded, “Ok,” said Fluttershy, “have you ever heard of a Companions Guild before?”

Luna’s eyes widened to dinner plates, and then she slowly nodded her head. “Um…yes, we…that is to say I have heard of such guilds, I use to partake in their services quite a bit before my…disappearance. Are you saying you are part of such a guild?”

Fluttershy nodded, “I run the Ponyville branch of the Canterlot Companions Society, and I need to get in contact with one of my associates in Ponyville so that I can delegate some of my jobs off to others, I hope you don’t mind?”

“Oh course not, but why don’t I let you use my personal form of communication, its much quicker.”

“Ok,” said Fluttershy, and then gasped as Luna conjured up a small opaque disk in front of them.

“Just say the name of the pony you need to speak with, and it will conjure up a similar disk for them to speak with you.”

Fluttershy nodded, and then walked up to the disk. “Um…I wish to speak with Aloe Blossom please, if that’s ok with you.”

Luna giggle at that, then watched as the disc started to transmit an image, showing a frightened looking Aloe staring at the disk.

“Miss Fluttershy, is that you?”

“Yes Aloe, sorry for freaking you out, but I needed to talk to you and this was the quickest way, are you busy right now, I need to speak business with you really quick.”

The moment Fluttershy had mentioned the word business Aloe’s body language changed drastically, her body becoming calm as she nodded to Fluttershy with such respect it surprised Luna. “Yes Mistress Fluttershy I am alone, do you wish me to bring my sister?”

“No Aloe, this does not require her presence, I just need you to delegate my clients to the other girls while I am gone, as I will be in Canterlot for a couple of weeks, so they will need to pick up the slack, is that ok.”

“It's perfectly alright Mistress, is there any clients I should worry about specifically or should I just delegate how I see fit?”

“Yes there are,” said Fluttershy, “Big Mac needs a strong sturdy mare, so probably one of the flower sisters if they are available. Also I am putting you and your sister both in charge of the diamond client while I am away, you both know her already so it shouldn’t be a problem.”

Luna stared in amazement as Fluttershy listed each of her high profile clients to Aloe, marveling at the young mares commanding presence. It had been a long time since she had seen a head companion at work, and in her opinion Fluttershy was a master at her job, and if she hadn’t known better she would have said it was her special talent.

“…lastly Mayor Mare has very particular taste in mares, but I have noticed that besides me she has started to take a fancy to Golden Harvest, so I would suggest if she has no prior commitments that she make herself available for the Mayor when she can.”

“Alright Mistress, but before you go we just got a letter from Fleur Dis Lee about a high profile client in Canterlot, she was going to ask if she could send the client to us for you to treat personally but seeing as you are in Canterlot maybe you can meet her yourself.”

Luna sucked in a breath then, for she had completely forgotten about her recent dealings with the upstanding mare. “I could make arrangements; can you tell me the client’s name?”

Before Aloe could speak her eyes widened in shock, causing Fluttershy to look puzzled before she felt a hoof tap her shoulder. She turned around to see Luna giving her a nervous look, then looked back to Aloe, and it suddenly dawned on her. “Oh…my…”

Fluttershy just stood there a moment, then shook her head, turning to Aloe before speaking. “Alright Aloe all take care of things here, don’t bother sending a message to Fleur, I’ll talk to her latter, bye.”

She waved goodbye to Aloe, then nodded to Luna, who ended the spell with a puff of smoke. However when Luna opened her mouth to speak, Fluttershy placed a hoof on her mouth, smiling brightly as she turned to her. “We’ll talk business latter your highness, right now I am your student, and you are my teacher, so we shall leave it at that till latter.”

Luna found herself once again amazed by the mare before her, but quickly recovered and nodded, moving forward towards the center of the gardens with Fluttershy in tow. She then turned to face Fluttershy, using her horn to part the clouds as she spoke. “Long ago, when our little ponies were still split into three tribes, a group of pegasi discovered a way to release the shackles placed upon their natural magic. They discovered that if they applied tattoo’s to their bodies under the magical light of the full moon, and then applied a bit of their blood to each tattoo; they would then be blessed with the ability to use their magic as the unicorns do.”

She turned back to the moon, using her magic to summon the tools necessary for the ancient art to begin. “For our purposes, I have made it so that the full moon shall last for four nights, so that we may apply each of the necessary tattoos to you and then bind them with your blood on the fourth night, are you ready to begin?”

Fluttershy nodded, “very well, then spread your wings for me and hold still, I will try to make this as painless as possible, but it will hurt.”

Fluttershy nodded and steeled herself, spreading her wings as Luna grabbed the device that would aid her in applying the Tattoos. It was a magical object, made from crystal and filled with a specially made ink that came in cartridges. All Luna needed to do was slowly pass the device over the intended area, and the devices magic would infuse the ink into Fluttershy’s skin. The process was painful, but Luna knew of many ways to ease the pain with magic, and employed those skills as she placed the device against Fluttershy’s left wing.

Fluttershy was surprised that she only felt minor discomfort as the device was applied, but kept herself completely still as Luna slowly applied the first part of the tattoo. Fluttershy did know some things about the tattoo itself, her research prior hadn’t been completely fruitless. There were three parts to the tattoo; the first part was on the wings, which would be where the magic would be cast. The second part was on the body and legs, unlocked the core of their magical power. The last tattoo was applied to the pegasus’s neck and head, which would give them the ability to call upon and control their newly unlocked power.

Luna finished with the first wing, and then moved on to the second wing, and while she was doing that she would occasionally glance at the other pony’s body. She didn’t really see anything wrong with what she was doing, after all she was going to be a client soon, she might as well “take a look at the merchandise” as it were, no harm in that. She took in every detail of the mare before her, from her smooth legs to her well groomed mane, and especially her beautiful flanks. She was a very beautiful mare, every bit of her looking as though it had been carefully crafted by an artist who devoted their entire attention to every beautiful detail.

She finally finished with the second wing, putting away the device and letting Fluttershy examine her finished work. “Their beautiful,” said Fluttershy, awed at the detail Luna had put into each tattoo.

“I spent many years under your ancestor’s diligent tutelage, learning from her that the work you place into the tattoo is just as important as the magic you will teach the receiver.”

Fluttershy nodded, “wise words, but I believe now we have some business to attend to, shall we retire to your quarters?”

Again Luna was amazed by Fluttershy’s authoritarian stance and tone, and again she wondered if this was indeed the same mare she had met back in Ponyville. She quickly nodded, and then teleported them both to her chambers, sitting down on her couch as Fluttershy took the chair across from her.

“Well let’s get strait to business, the fact that Fleur Dis Lee was referring you to Ponyville means she wants you to get the best service possible from the Society, and I am more than willing to provide any service you may require. What services may I provide you this evening your highness?”

Luna was a bit taken aback by how the scenario had shifted, and how Fluttershy’s body language had completely changed. She held neither the commanding presence of the head of a guild nor her usual shy demeanor; instead she held a demeanor that said she would serve in any fashion Luna desired, wholly and utterly, and all in service to her client.

“Well, if you had any reservations before, there gone now,” said a voice in her head. “We…that is to say, I have been finding nights rather lonely without another by my side, to share my bed in both pleasure and comfort. If it is agreeable with you, I would like it if you would share my bed with me.”

Fluttershy nodded, “I can’t stay in Canterlot, at least not for too long a period, but we could make arrangements for you to stay at my house during the night. Now come, we have a long night ahead of us.”

They both made their way to the bed, Luna climbing up first and then Fluttershy, who scooted close before she spoke again. “So, how long has it been since you have been with a mare your highness?”

Luna gulped, “It has been…over a thousand years now, the last time I was with a mare was before the events of…of my…”

Fluttershy put a hoof to her mouth, stopping her from speaking as she gave her a reassuring look. “None of that princess tonight is for comfort, so banish such thoughts and surrender yourself to the moment.”

She then kissed Luna on the lips, who gave a throaty moan of pleasure due to the blessed contact. Oh how she had missed this feeling, the feeling of another mares lips pressed against hers with the desire to pleasure, the feeling of another’s body pressing against hers, and the feeling of hooves gently running over her body. She decided to return the gestures, eliciting cute little moans from Fluttershy, which if her ears were hearing right sounded completely genuine.

She gently rolled Fluttershy onto her back, beginning to kiss her way down the pegasus’s body and bring out those cute little moans she desired to hear. But just as she reached the little mares belly a hoof graced her cheek, causing her to look up toward Fluttershy with a questioning gaze. “I know you want to please me, but I am supposed to be pleasing you right now remember. However, I got a way we can bother get some pleasure out of this, you want to try it?”

Luna still found herself puzzled, but nodded all the same. Fluttershy motioned for her to role onto her back, and then slowly scooted herself forward, placing one of her legs over Luna’s and then slowly pressing their marehoods together.

Luna arched her back as a guttural cry escaped her lips; her marehood on fire from the contact of the others blessed lips. “Wha…what is this?”

Fluttershy panted a bit, for it had been a while since she had been with a pony, but she quickly recovered and explained. “It’s called the scissor Princess; it’s a position that allows our marehoods to touch, allowing pleasure to be given to both parties. All you have to do is start grinding against me, and all do the same ok?”

Luna nodded slowly, and then they both started to grind their bodies together, Luna starting to moan aloud as the blessed feeling ran through her body. Holly mothers above and below she had missed this, the feeling of pleasure coursing through her body as she moaned aloud because of it. It didn’t matter that it was not the pony she had loved all those years ago, it didn’t matter that it wasn’t the one who had betrayed her trust and forced her sister to dam her to the moon, all that mattered was the here and now.

She gave another thrust of her hips, grabbing a pillow and biting down to suppress the screams that were no doubt trying to escape, all the while listening to the beautiful sound of Fluttershy’s moaning. Finally after what seemed like eternity it was just too much for the long deprived moon goddess, and she arched her back again as she climaxed, screaming without a care for all the world to hear.

“OH CLOVER!”

The room shook with the force of her scream, and afterword’s she collapsed, exhausted from her long awaited release and letting sleep take her like an old friend.

After a moment of recovery from both the fright at what had just happened and her own climax, untangled herself from Luna’s legs, slowly crawling so that she was laying net to the princess, placing a gently wing under her own. Once again Fluttershy found herself puzzled over the name Luna had cried out, but she knew that could come latter, assuming Luna wished to talk about it. She then yawned and placed rested her head on Luna, letting sleep take her away as the night crawled ever on.

Harsh Words and Truths

“What the buck was that,” was the thought racing through Celestia’s mind as she got up, leaving her lover sleeping peacefully as she headed out the doors of her bedroom and down the hall to her sisters room. She had been woken by the loud scream and the fallowing quake as the castle shook from it, and now suspected that something had happened to her dear sister.

She finally reached her room, heading inside but stopping outside Luna’s bedroom door, knocking gently on it before speaking. “Luna, sister are you ok?”

There was no answer, which worried her, but she kept herself from just barging in, she had had way too many incidents in the past where she had done such and had walked in on her sister in very awkward situations. She knocked on the door one more time, and when she didn’t get an answer she sighed, steeling herself before opening the door and walking inside.

The moment she saw the figure lying beside her sister she stopped dead, staring in a mixture of shock and horror. She knew of Fluttershy’s other profession of course, having gotten a letter from Fleur telling her about it, but that was not what worried Celestia. She quickly walked over, gently using her magic to lift Fluttershy, but then stopped when she noticed the change that had happened to her wings, her eyes narrowing as she looked down at her sister and gently shook her, placing Fluttershy gently down on the bed as Luna yawned.

When Luna looked up to see who had woken her however, her eyes contracted to pinpricks in fear as she opened her mouth to try and speak. “T…Tia, I…I can explain…”

“Come with me,” said Celestia, her tone not holding the motherly tones Luna was used to hearing, instead they held the scolding tones of an older sister; she liked her motherly tone better. She got up and followed Celestia as they left her bedroom, walking into her study and closing the door before Celestia rounded on her.

“What do you think you are doing with her?”

“Tia…I…”

“No, you know what I don’t want to hear it!” said Celestia, pacing slowly back and forth around the room as she tried to keep her anger under control. “I can’t believe you, not only do you have the gall to teach her that magic, but you have the indecency to sleep with one of our protectors, how could you?”

“How could I, you sleep with the most powerful of our protectors, what makes you different from me?”

Celestia glared at her, the very thought of Luna comparing what she was doing with what her and Twilight had angering her beyond belief. “Because unlike you sister I love Twilight, I don’t just use her to fill a void and satisfy my urges.”

That cut deep, Luna tearing up as she looked at her sister. “I’m not using her to fill a void!”

“Oh really, then what pray tell is the reason for having her lying in your bed?”

“Because I’m trying to help her!”

She hadn’t been expecting to hear that, and found herself at a loss for words for a moment. “…he…help her, what could sleeping with her possibly do to help her?”

Luna looked like she wanted to cry, and she started to as she slowly started to speak. “she hurts sister, she believes that she will never be able to find love, which is why she does this to herself…she believes it is the only way she will ever be able to feel loved. I have seen her dreams, and they are always the same, always forever alone…I…I can’t let her feel like that…not when I used to feel the same way.”

Celestia was rendered speechless as Luna broke down in tears, not able to formulate any words as she looked with sorrow at her beloved sister. She knew of course what Luna was talking about, it was the years following the death of her beloved Clover the Clever, a time where Luna had started to believe she would never be able to love again. She never wished that feeling on any of her subjects, least of all on family, but she still felt Luna was going the wrong way about helping her. “Luna, while I don’t think you are going about this the right way, I will not stop you from doing this, but I must ask you something. How do you feel about Fluttershy?”

Luna looked at her for a moment, and then sighed, sitting down next to Celestia before speaking. “She reminds me of Clover, but she is also different in many ways, ways that make my heart flutter just thinking about them. She is gentle yet strong, kind yet forceful when she needs to be, and she cares for all things above herself, without ever hoping for that care to be returned. I want to give her the love she deserves, if only so that she can be happy, like we all deserve to be.”

Celestia just stared, and then sighed, looking away from the lunar goddess and toward the moon. “Alright Luna, I’ll let you continue this, as long as you promise to tell her the truth, but as to the magic you are teaching her…”

“I know what you are going to say Tia and I understand your concerns, but if any pony is fit to handle such magic, it is Fluttershy.”

Celestia thought about that for a moment, then nodded her head, “I concede to your point sister, I can think of none better. Just….just make sure you are both carful, we can’t afford to lose one of the elements.”

Luna nodded, and then got up to leave. “I shall return to my bed sister, I suggest you return to your lover’s side before she wakes, you know how much she worries when she does not wake up within your heavenly embrace.”

Celestia blushed as Luna closed the door, cursing her sisters accurate guess was about how Twilight described her embrace, and then turned to leave, trusting her sister was up for whatever she was getting into.

Luna walked back into her room and was greeted with the sounds of sobbing from her bed, walking over to see tears’ streaming from Fluttershy’s closed eyes, and quickly kneeled down as Fluttershy whispered softly through her dream induced sobs.

“Please…please don’t leave me…please……”

Another nightmare, and Luna suspected she knew what it was about, for she had seen the same nightmare plaguing Fluttershy ever since her return from the moon. She quickly placed her horn against Fluttershy’s forehead, using her magic to take her from the nightmare and send her off to better dreams. It took a few moments, but finally Fluttershy’s tears stopped, and she began to breathe normally as a smile graced her lips, bringing comfort to the old lunar goddess.

“Sleep well dear Fluttershy, and worry not, you shall find love…and so shall I.” She then kissed Fluttershy gently on the forehead, and then laid down to sleep, praying to the heavens above that she was right.

The Woe of Kindness

Luna finished up her work on the second part of Fluttershy’s full body tattoo, marveling at how it was all beginning to come together. All that remained was the final part of the tattoo, which would cover her neck and head, and then all they would have to do is add the blood on the final night, and the tattoo would be complete. After she put her tool away she motioned for Fluttershy to follow her, leading her back into the bedroom but stopping her as she pressed her body against her. “Just a preening for tonight D…Fluttershy,” said Luna, catching herself before she said dear, which she knew would only raise questions…as well as problems.

Fluttershy nodded, watching as Luna climbed onto bed and extended her wings, quickly climbing on and begging to preen them. “Fluttershy, do you mind if I ask you a question?”

“Go right ahead Luna, what did you want to ask?”

“Well I find myself wondering how a mare like you got into this kind of profession, I mean not to be frank but from everything I know about you this kind your rather…well, timid and reclusive.”

Fluttershy giggled, letting go of Luna’s wing to answer. “Well, do you remember when I was recruited by Photo Finish as a model?”

Luna nodded, “I remember, I have to admit I followed your career with rapt attention while it lasted.”

“you weren’t the only one,” said Fluttershy with another giggle, “it turned out I was being watched by none other than Fleur Dis Le, who as you probably know heads the Canterlot Companions Society along with her partner Fancy Pants, though we try to keep that information discrete.”

“Why is that?”

“well,” said Fluttershy, “the Society and the nobles kind of have a jaded history, we kind of had a falling out several hundred years back over a disagreement one of the nobles had with one of the past leaders decisions.”

“Really, what sort of disagreement?” asked Luna.

“Well as you probably remember, originally the Society only offered their services to the high ranked members of society such as the Canterlot elite. Well about three hundred years after your banishment the current leader of the Society known as Black Cherry decided that they should start offering their services to all the ponies of Equestria, regardless of station.”

“And let me guess, the nobles didn’t take to kindly to that.”

“Nope,” said Fluttershy with a giggle, “but it wasn’t going to stop Cherry none, for she was of noble birth herself, and she carried a lot of weight which she has passed down to her descendants, all the way down to Fleur herself. We still have problems now and then with them though; you know how long nobles tend to hold a grudge.”

Luna laughed at that, giving a nod before Fluttershy continued. “Anyways, after I quit modeling Fleur approached me with the offer to become part of the Society, and at first I was a bit hesitant, but after I got used to it I found I really liked the job, and I eventually became the head of the Ponyville branch after the last one retired.”

Fluttershy then returned to preening Luna’s wings, drawing out little gasps and moans from the princess, for it had been ages since somepony else had touched her wings. “Seems it’s been a while since you last had this done, how long has it been since somepony touched your wings.”

“mmm, I…I think the last time I had my wings preened like this was with my lover Clover the Clever, she always would do this for me before we…well we had relations.”

Fluttershy giggled, “come on Luna, no need to be so nervous about it, sex is one of the most beautiful things that can happen between two ponies, there is no reason to hide what it is with such words.”

Luna looked surprised, but nodded all the same. “I guess you’re right, but sometimes I do such out of habit, especially after I…after we lost her…”

Fluttershy looked at her as her face became a mask of sorry, and she finally realized what had been causing Luna to call out that name both in her sleep…and in the throes of passion. “You miss her, don’t you?”

Luna nodded, “yes we do, it was partially why we started seeking out the Companion’s Guild all those years ago, and why we sought them out again after getting better acquainted with the world. But…but it is never enough for us…no matter how much we indulge, no matter how many times ponies tried to provide us comfort, we would always feel alone…forever alone…”

Fluttershy just stared, for she knew what the princess was talking about, at least sort of. She knew all too well that feeling of emptiness; that feeling that she would never be loved the way she wished to be, the way she longed to be.

“…at least we used to feel empty till…well till thou slept beside us in my bed the first day of thine arrival here.”

“What?”

Fluttershy stared in shock, not really expecting that from the Princess. “She…she can’t be possibly saying what I think she is saying…she can’t want me, no pony want's…”

“Fluttershy, we know this is quite sudden, and we were planning on waiting till after we finished with thine lessons, but we just can’t wait any longer. If it would be alright with thee, we wish to court thee, so that we may one day hopefully make thee our own.”

Fluttershy couldn’t believe what she was hearing, she just couldn’t. It was like something out of a story book, but there was just one problem, and that was her. Fluttershy felt tears coming to her eyes, and she turned her face away from the princess as she spoke through her sobs. “I’m sorry princess…but I can accept you request…you…you deserve a better pony then…then me…”

She turned to leave, but was stopped when Luna wrapped her forelegs around her, keeping her from running away. “Speak not of yourself in such a way dear Fluttershy, we shall not hear it! You are a beautiful mare, and you deserve to be with somepony special.”

“I deserve nothing!”

The pure venom with which Fluttershy spat out those words shocked Luna, but she kept her grip, holding Fluttershy close as her body shook with tears. “I give kindness Luna, I don’t take any for myself, because I don’t deserve anypony, for no pony should have to…”

Luna decided enough was enough, and quickly turned Fluttershy around, silencing her with a kiss. It was soft, it was gentle, but it was also filled with such passion that it left Fluttershy breathless once Luna parted from her lips. “We told thee not to speak such words, and we shall hear them no more. Thou deserve as much…neigh, you deserve more then you will ever know my dear Fluttershy, and if you allow me, I promise to make you see this as truth.”

She waited patiently, keeping herself ready in case Fluttershy tried to run again. But instead she simply laid herself against Luna, tears falling down her face as she spoke one word. “Okay…”

Luna smiled, and then gently moved both herself and Fluttershy back to the bed, covering her with a wing before lying down, content that they would both sleep peacefully.

A Day Out

View Online

Fluttershy walked along the streets of Canterlot, still not believing what had happed the night before. She couldn’t believe it, Luna wanted her, she actually truly wanted her, not just for comfort or as a simple friend, but as a pony to love and be loved by in return.

“Don’t jump ahead of yourself,” said an all too familiar voice inside her head, “She still doesn’t know about “him”, she still doesn’t know about what happened with you back before she met you, you should break it off with her now before you hurt her to.”

“No,” she thought, trying to counter the voice that had plagued her ever since that fateful day. “He would want me to find happiness again, he even said it when he…”

“That doesn’t matter, you are the reason he is gone, and it’s because of you he was taken away from us. You’re a cursed mare Fluttershy, how long do you think it will take before you hurt Luna as well?”

“You’re wrong,” Fluttershy thought, and then she shook her head, denying the voice another chance to speak. She looked around, noting that her hooves had carried her to her destination while she had her little internal conflict, and she quickly made her way over to the shop, walking inside before letting out a surprised gasp at who she found inside.

“Twilight?”

Twilight jumped, nearly dropping the toy she had been examining she turned to look at Fluttershy. “Fluttershy, wha…what are you doing here, I thought you were studying the tattoo arts with Princess Luna?”

“Oh I am; but Luna needs to take a break after each piece of the tattoo is applied, and I thought I would take a day to myself to pick up some um…“Supplies” for myself while I was here.”

Twilight nodded, knowing due to her own history studies the intricacies of applying the tattoos for this branch of magic. When she had first gotten the letter from Fluttershy about what branch of magic she was studying she had initially panicked, for tattoo magic was an extremely dangerous branch of magic, due to the fact that it was an entirely emotion based branch magic, thus it was completely unpredictable and wild. However after thinking about it, she had realized that Fluttershy was a good candidate for tattoo magic, because in regards to emotional control, Fluttershy was definitely a master.

“So,” said Fluttershy, breaking Twilight out of her thoughts. “What are you doing here; I didn’t think these kinds of shops were your kind of thing.”

Twilight blushed; putting down the dildo she had been examining and giving a little chuckle. “I actually came into Canterlot to see my marefriend, and we may have broken one of our toys while we were messing around, so I have to buy a new one.”

Fluttershy was about to comment when Death Petal walked out of the room, her eyes spotting the yellow mare and widening in shock. “M…mistress, I…I didn’t expect to see you here, um…is there something you needed?”

“Could you get your father for me please, I need to speak with him regarding some business transactions ok?”

Death Petal nodded, running into the back of the shop as Twilight turned to Fluttershy in surprise. “What the buck was that about.”

“Sorry about that Twilight, I…”

She was interrupted as Fuedra came walking out of that back, grinning broadly as he walked right up to her and kissed her on the lips, causing her to blush as Twilight watched in disbelief. Finally he backed away, smiling at Fluttershy as he spoke. “I didn’t know you were in Canterlot, this is a very pleasant surprise. So do you want to talk business now or…?”

“Fuedra…company,” said Fluttershy, nodding her head towards Twilight and causing the stallion to blush in embarrassment.

“Oh, sorry Twilight, I didn’t see you there, um…I…I should go and…uh…restock those shelves.”

He made his way to the back shelves, leaving Fluttershy to turn to Twilight with a sheepish grin. “I guess I got some things to tell you, come on, we’ll go talk about it at Pony Joe’s.”

“So in other words, you’re a glorified whorse?”

Fluttershy groaned, shaking her head for the fifth time as she took a sip of her hot chocolate. “No no no, I am not a glorified whorse. I don’t just sell sex Twilight; I provide many other services, like massages, or accompanying ponies to social events as an escort. Haven’t you ever heard of a Companion before?”

Twilight shook her head. “No, and I had access to the entire royal library, I’m sure they would have something on it.”

Fluttershy laughed at that, “then that’s why you don’t know much about us, sadly the royals have taken a rather bad shine to us, and have made it their mission to wipe out every historical mention of us, even going so far as to burn a few books.”

“That’s barbaric,” said Twilight, fuming at the idea of somepony burning a book.

“Well luckily not all the books were destroyed, and I have copies in my own personal collection about the companions, which I would be happy to loan you.”

Twilight clapped her hooves in delight, and then she gasped, her eyes widening as she stood up and squealed. “SUNBEAM!”

Fluttershy watched as Twilight launched herself at the door to Pony Joe’s, watching as she wrapped her forelegs around a pure white unicorn, burying her face in the mares pink mane and causing her to giggle. Twilight then dragged the unicorn over, smiling as she turned to Fluttershy. “Fluttershy, this is my marefriend Sunbeam, the kindest and most beautiful mare I have ever met. And Sunbeam, this is Fluttershy, one of my greatest friends in the whole wide world.”

“Hello,” said Fluttershy.

“Hello Fluttershy dear,” said Sunbeam with a smile, “It’s nice to meet you after hearing so much about you from Twilight’s letters, she speaks very highly of you.”

Fluttershy blushed, while Twilight rolled her eyes, pulling the other mare close to her and smiling, “Well I we should get going eh dear, me and you have some new toys we need to break in.”

“Oh you naughty mare, well let’s get going then, and again it was nice meeting you Fluttershy.”

Fluttershy nodded as they left, and then turned to Pony Joe with a questioning glace. “Are they always like that?”

“You have no idea,” said Joe with a smile.

Fluttershy entered Luna’s room, spotting the rather drowsy looking mare as she peered out from her tangled looking mane, for it was still daylight outside. “Dear Fluttershy, why doth thou enter my chambers at this hour, thou knowest I sleep during the day.”

Fluttershy giggled at Luna’s slip back into her old way of speaking, but then sat down next to her on the bed, looking serious. “Luna, I know last night I said I would allow you to court me, but before you do that I need you to know something about me, something that happened in my past that made me…say the things I said last night.”

Luna’s eyes widened, and she quickly sat up strait, “I am listening my dear Fluttershy.”

Fluttershy blushed at that, but nodded all the same, taking a deep breath before speaking. “A long time ago I used to live in Cloudsdale with Rainbow dash, we shared a room together in flight camp, and it was during that time I…well I fell in love with someone.”

“Don’t you mean somepony?”

“No, because he wasn’t a pony, he was a griffin.”

Luna stared at Fluttershy in shock, not really believing what she had just heard. “A…a griffin, you can’t be serious?”

“I am serious, now be quite Luna, I’m not finished. Anyway, we had met during my last years in flight camp, and we hit if off really well, even though a lot of ponies disapproved of me being with a griffin. We didn’t care though, though I wish his sister had been a little less of a jerk to the ponies who called us names.”

“Does this griffin have a name?”

Fluttershy looked saddened for a moment, but spoke all the same. “His name was Talon.”

The way Fluttershy used the past tense was very un-nerving to Luna, leaving her with a foreboding feeling she knew where this story was heading. “And the sister?”

“Gilda, we used to be good friends before he…before I lost him.”

“What happened?”

Fluttershy hesitated, but she knew she would have to speak eventually. “He died protecting me from Timber Wolves, I had been searching for one of my animals at the time and they attacked me, but he came out of nowhere to hold them off. By the time I managed to find somepony to help and come back it was already too late…he…he died in my forelegs.”

She leaned herself against Luna, crying as she continued to speak. “He…he told me not to cry, and told me I should try and find some pony else, but I never could…I just couldn’t get over the grief of losing him. It…it was one of the reasons I accepted the job with the companions guild, it was the only way I thought I would ever be close to somepony after losing him.”

Luna hugged her close, kissing her forehead as she whispered softly to her. “It will be alright my dear Fluttershy; I understand your pain better than most would, and know how much it hurts. But they would not want us to lock away our hearts, they would want us to try and find love again.” She then pulled back a little, giving Fluttershy a smile before speaking again. “Now come, we have your final tattoo to apply, and then we shall be ready to awaken thee to new magic.”

Fluttershy nodded and then got up, following Luna out to the balcony and then into the sky, heading toward the mountain top to finish the tattoo that would unlock her magic.

The Nightmare

View Online

Fluttershy shivered as Luna finished up the tattoo, the last few bits only covering the lower part of her face, due to it being a sensitive area. “and now for the final piece, as is demanded by the true spirit of the moon,” said Luna, bending down and gently nipping Fluttershy’s lip, drawing a little blood and then taking a few drops, placing two on her wings, one on her chest, and the final one on her forehead.

Luna then looked up at the moon, which was glowing a bright blue as she spoke her next words. “I call upon thee now Diana, bless this young mare, and unlock within her her true magic potential.”

The moon responded; a ray of light falling upon Fluttershy, enveloping her as her eyes began to glow light blue, the tattoos on her body lighting up with the same light as her eyes. “W…wow,” she said, looking up at the moon and smiling. “Um…thank you, Diana.”

“You’re welcome dear Fluttershy,” said a voice, which caused her to jump before the light disappeared.

Luna smiled down at her, placing a wing over her shoulder as she spoke. “It is done, now we best get back to Canterlot, it would be a better place to help train you then up here on the mountain.”

“Ok, um…Luna, who was that I heard?”

Luna looked surprised, but she smiled all the same. “I am surprised you could hear her, Diana does not choose many to speak to besides me, for she is a part of me.”

“You…you mean that was…?”

“Yes my dear Fluttershy, that was the spirit of the moon, who resides both up there, and inside me. All alicorns, from me to my sister Celestia, have such spirits that reside in them, for they are the source of our power.”

Fluttershy nodded as she absorbed this information, leaping into the air with Luna and following her down to Canterlot. “Um Luna, my tattoos are gone.”

“They will come back when you use your magic,” said Luna, “it is part of why one adds the blood to the tattoo, to make it so that it becomes a part of you, and so it will also hide itself till you call upon it.”

Fluttershy nodded, but then suddenly she felt her something tugging at her consciousness, a muted sort of cackle sounding in her head as her eyes slowly closed. “Lu…Luna…” she said, before beginning to plummet out of the sky.

“What is it dear…FLUTTERSHY!” screamed Luna, diving out of the sky to catch the falling mare and then skidding to a halt of the ground, lowering her to the ground before looking her over with her magic. It didn’t take long for her to find what had caused Fluttershy to fall, somepony had put her into a magical slumber, and she could tell from the magic who that somepony was, “Nightmare!”

*

Fluttershy slowly opened her eyes, finding herself in a dark world where the ground was covered in black smoke, looking around as a voice sounded from behind her. “So you are the one she has chosen, first a unicorn…and now a cowardly pegasus.”

Fluttershy slowly turned around, fear entering her eyes as she saw Nightmare Moon standing behind her. “Ni…Nightmare…”

“If you are to address me,” interrupted the dark alicorn, “you will address me by my true name of Nyx, the goddess of the night.”

Fluttershy gulped, but then she slowly rose to her full height, anger beginning to burn in her eyes as she gazed at the alicorn before her. “What do you want with me?”

“What is this,” asked Nyx with an amused chuckle, “does the little bitch think she can face me, you wouldn’t be the first.” She chuckled again, walking around Fluttershy before walking away as she spoke, “after all, I remember a certain mare called Clover the Clever who tried to stand in my way…she didn’t last…”

Nyx was cut off as two fiery tendrils wrapped themselves around her throat, and her gaze quickly fell upon Fluttershy, and upon spotting her they widened I shock. Fluttershy’s eyes and her recently gained tattoos glowed with red with rage, the tendrils extending from her wings as she spoke with a growl. “You will not touch me or my Luna, you will leave us ALONE!”

Nyx laughed as her horn glowed, but before she could do anything Fluttershy let her go, her wings glowing bright as she unleashed a volley of magical bolts, hitting the Nyx and the surrounding area, blasting apart her armor and creating craters around the mare. Nyx got up, retaliating with a ray of dark light, which Fluttershy blocked with a shield she formed with her wings.

Fluttershy’s magic was for lack of better words out of bucking control, she was not controlling it at all, she as letting it rule her, all so that she could bring the mare before her down. The moment the ray ended Fluttershy grinned, for she could see Nyx panting from over exerting herself, and so she opened her wings, blades forming behind her which she was ready to fire, until Luna landed in front of her.

Luna’s eyes blazed white as she stared down Nyx, who looked as though she had just seen a ghost. “YOU WILL LEAVE NO COJURERER OF NIGHTMARES, AND YOU SHALL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE AGAIN.”

“Luna please don’t turn me away, I need you…”

“DO NOT SPEAK,” roared Luna, “YOU TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME, FIRST MY LOVER CLOVER, AND THEN A THOUSAND YEARS OF MY LIFE, BUT YOU WILL NOT TAKE MY FLUTTERSHY FROM ME, NOW GO!”

Nyx vanished, leaving a few tears in her wake before Luna finally calmed down, and then the world darkened, Fluttershy feeling her eyes close before disappearing from the dream entirely.

*

Fluttershy woke up in Luna’s forelegs, looking up to see the lunar goddess looking down at her with a smile on her face. “Oh my dear Fluttershy, we are so glad you are unharmed.”

She hugged Fluttershy close, and Fluttershy returned the gesture, her form shaking as she thought back to what had happened in the dream. “L…Luna, what was it I did back there, I…I couldn’t control myself at all.”

Luna moved a hoof through her mane, whispering softly to her to calm her down. “It was your rage dear, you see unlike unicorn magic, tattoo magic is controlled by emotion, and with certain emotions, that magic becomes wiled and unruly, it will be something we will cover in our lessons.”

Fluttershy nodded, and then slowly moved herself up, giving Luna a little peck on the lips before speaking. “Um…thank you Luna, I…I am glad you came when you did. Um…if it wouldn’t be too much trouble, could we go to bed early, I…I feel really tiered after that ordeal.”

Luna nodded, then teleported them both to her bed, curling up around her Fluttershy and listening to her fall asleep, following soon after.

Magic Of The Date

View Online

Fluttershy stood with her wings outstretched, a blue ball of fire held between them as Luna walked around her. “now remember Fluttershy, keep thy mind calm and free of all dark emotions, for while they provide the greatest strength when it comes to Tattoo magic, they are also the hardest to control, especially anger and fear.’

Fluttershy nodded, focusing on keeping her emotions in check as she poured all her happiness into her spell. But as Luna walked around, Fluttershy couldn’t help but let her eyes drift over to her flank, and as she stared another emotion rose to the surface, making itself known as her tattoos and the ball of fire turned rose pink, which Luna noticed as she smiled, “happy thoughts?”

Fluttershy blushed, the flame shrinking till it puffed out. But before she could do more than stutter, Luna placed a wing under her chin, drawing her gaze up to look at her as she smiled. “There is no need to feel embarrassed dear Fluttershy, as thou know, affection of that nature from you is most welcome.”

Fluttershy nodded, then sat down, staring at Luna as she sat down next to her. “Um…Luna, I know these magic lessons are important now that I have my magic, but I was thinking…um, maybe you could take me out on a date today?”

Luna looked at her in confusion, “um, pray tell dear Fluttershy, what is a date?”

Fluttershy laughed at that, actually laughed, before putting a comforting hoof on Luna’s shoulder. “Sorry about that, I guess I forgot how much you have missed out on, I guess mating practices have changed a bit since you last were around. Now let me explain, dating is where you take the pony you are affectionate for out to dinner, and/or some other social event if you are both feeling up to it, and then you walk your date back home.”

“And proceed to the bedroom to conclude the night’s events correct.”

“Um…no Luna, we save that till the third date, if everything goes well.”

Luna frowned, “well that sounds like no fun at all, and really this whole thing sounds like a watered down version of courting.”

“Oh really,” said Fluttershy with interest, “how does it differ.”

“Well if I were to court you, I would come by your room in the palace, or to your home, wait for you to get on suitable attire for the evening, and we would walk together to my chariot, which would take us to the best restaurant in the city. After our meal we would then leave, heading back to the palace for some theater or another form of entertainment, and then I would escort you to my room, where we would make passionate love before drifting off into blissful sleep.”

Fluttershy had to admit, she was three fourths of the way tempted to cave and let Luna do it her way, it sounded way more romantic, and plus she would be able tease Rarity about it during their spa trips. But she was a mare of high class and taste when it came to dating (having proved as much with her dates with Talon, who had spoiled her rotten and set the bar pretty high as well), and so it was with a determined look that she shook her head. “As nice as that sounds Luna, I would much prefer to go on a normal date first, and if you want, you can do the whole courting business as our third date. Does this sound reasonable?”

Luna squealed with glee as she nodded, clapping her hooves together in joy as Fluttershy rose to her hooves. “Then shall we be going my lady?”

Luna smiled, then her horn lit up, her form changing into that of a beautiful pegasus mare, her light blue mane similar to that of the one she had when she had first returned, but Fluttershy was reasonably certain that it had been long enough that ponies would have already forgotten what she had originally looked like.

“Ah it is so good to take on this guise again; I have not done so for over a thousand years. Now let us depart, I deeply wish to see what this “dating” is like.”

Fluttershy watched in awe as Luna, alias Moonbeam, wolfed down another container of hay fires, giggling at the salt coated smile Luna bore as she swallowed her food. “Oh this food is wonderful; I had forgotten how good the common fare was due to my being stuck on the moon.”

Fluttershy nodded, “your sister mentioned something about your liking these kinds of foods over what you receive at the palace, so I thought you would like it.”

Moonbeam nodded, “she was quite right, I don’t know what changed with the castle cooks since I was gone, but now it feels like a sin to even eat my food because of what they do to it, for all I know all Equestira’s artists became cooks while I was gone.”

Fluttershy giggled, and then dug into her fish sandwich, watching as Moonbeam munched on her own sandwich as well. Most would assume that because of her talent, that she would be against eating fish. But sadly she had discovered that most fish were, for lack of a better word, unintelligent. Thus she had no qualms about eating them, and add to the fact that fish were an important part of a pegasus’s diet, she really saw nothing wrong about eating them.

As Moonbeam reached for another hay fry Fluttershy let out a little belch, covering her mouth with her wing as she giggled out an excuse me, only to laugh when Moonbeam let out an even bigger belch. “Ah, that was something,” said Moonbeam, before noticing how Fluttershy was laughing and giving her a smile. “What, I always preferred to compliment food with a good belch; it is much more satisfying then covering such compliments with thy hoof or wing.”

“I guess you don’t get to do that as often due to your station.”

“Sadly not, but it makes times like this that much more enjoyable.”

Fluttershy nodded, then finished up with her meal, Moonbeam rising with her when they were finished and exiting the fast food place, wrapping her wing up in Fluttershy’s as she smiled at her. “This is appropriate correct, us holding wings?”

Fluttershy nodded, “more than correct Luna, it’s really nice, I…I don’t think I have done this in a long time.”

Moonbeam nodded, and then looked to where they were going as a smile stretched upon her face. “We did not know any other establishments were open this late, what sort of establishment is this?”

“It’s called a night club Moonbeam,” said Fluttershy, giggling at the big grin that spread across Moonbeam’s face at the words night club. “It’s a place where ponies go to enjoy drinks, dancing, and really good music, and this club is one of my more favorites to visit, though if I didn’t have the connections I did we wouldn’t be able to get in.”

“Connections,” asked Moonbeam, before stopping in front of the door with Fluttershy as she saw a great line stretching out across the street, and a particularly large looking pegasus with miniscule wings was standing at the door.”

“Hello Snowflake, how are the wife and kids doing?”

“Oh there fine my dear, though I do admit Rumble has been getting a bit hectic without his dear old dad around, but with this necklace my wife made me I never have to worry about being too far from home.”

Fluttershy nodded, and then pulled Moonbeam up close to introduce her. “Well Snow, I would like to introduce you to my date Moonbeam, we were hoping we could enter the club tonight, she has never been to a club before so I thought it would be a nice treat for her.”

Snowflake nodded, “you don’t need to ask around here Flutters, your always welcome, just make sure to say hi to Vinyl when you see her k, she will be expecting you.”

Fluttershy nodded, and then lead Moonbeam into the club, the music hitting them as they passed through the double doors.

Moonbeam could not speak; the shear shock of what she was witnessing rendering her speechless as she watched the ponies around her. Ponies were dancing, speaking with each other, drinking, and it was all during her glorious night. Tears of joy left her eyes as she turned to Fluttershy, who was smiling at her as she gave her a nuzzle. “I thought you would like this, I know that you were always worried about how ponies treat your night, so I decided to show you how they treat it.”

“I…I thank thee Fluttershy, this…this reminds me of the olden times, when ponies would celebrate into the late hours of the night, celebrating in the night time air…it is comforting to see such celebrations of life live on in new ways.”

Fluttershy nodded, and then led her over to the bar, sitting down with her as the bartender went over to greet them. “Well hey Flutters,” said the mare at the bar, “haven’t seen you here in ages, and who’s your friend.”

Fluttershy giggled, “Well this lovely mare is my date Moonbeam, who I thought would enjoy a nice little glimpse at the night life of Canterlot.”

“Nice, so what can I get you two tonight.”

Luna looked shocked at being asked to pick a drink, but Fluttershy quickly answered for her. “Can you get us two of my usual please; trust me I know she can take it.”

The unicorn looked skeptical, but nodded all the same, walking away as Moonbeam looked at her with a cocked eyebrow. “Pray tell dear Fluttershy, why did the serving wench look so skeptical about…why are you laughing at me?”

Fluttershy stifled her laugh, looking at Moonbeam with tears in her eyes as she spoke. “Moonbeam, there not called serving wenches, she is a bartender. As to the drink, I usually order a Dragons Fire Ale when I come here, which is usually something normal ponies don’t indulge in due to how strong it is, and also do to the fact that it comes from the griffon territories.”

Moonbeams eyes widened as her mouth began to salivate, “Dragon Fire Ale, it has been a long time since I have indulged in the beverage, me and my sister used to partake in it quite often when we were young.”

Fluttershy nodded, “I was introduce to the drink by Talon, who said and I quote “you can’t be a proper griffoness without a healthy amount of Dragon Fire Ale running through your veins,” so he proceeded to get me said drink, and admittedly my first reaction was not that good, but after a while I got used to the drink.”

Moonbeam nodded as the drinks were handed to them, and then surprised Fluttershy by giving her a wink and then taking a big swig, smacking her lips as she set the drink back down. “ah that hits the spot, I was so glad it was allowed back into the country after the griffon wars, tis a very good drink…” she then gave Fluttershy a very sultry grin, wrapping her wing around Fluttershy’s midsection, “especially for after hour affairs.”

Fluttershy blushed but shook her head, “Moonbeam I said no, you are going to have to wait for that till the third date, on this I will not budge.”

“oh I am sure there are ways I could convince you,” said Moonbeam, her wing tracing its way over Fluttershy’s cutie mark as she leaned in to whisper into her ear. “After all, I am the goddess of the night, and as such I know all of the nighttime pleasures, and though our first time was brief, I can assure you if you allow me, I will show you a world of pleasures the likes of which only us goddesses can dream of.”

Fluttershy gulped, the burning blush on her cheeks almost as hot as the burning need growing in between her legs. “NO!” she scolded herself in her head, “I will not give in to her immensely good tactics, I will stand my ground!” She then sighed heavily, brushing away Moonbeam’s wing with her own before speaking. “Moonbeam I said no, and I meant it, now why don’t you finish your drink, I got to go talk to a friend for a moment.”

Moonbeam nodded, and then Fluttershy got up and went over to where Vinyl was sitting, relaxing after another successful mix and nursing a drink in her hoof, waving franticly at the yellow pegasus as she approached. “Flutter’s, nice to see yah girl; how has everything been going?”

“Pretty good Vinyl, how about yourself?”

“Same as always,” said Vinyl, taking off her glasses before giving Fluttershy a big smile. “I know I have probably said this a dozen times to you, but I can never thank you enough for getting me together with my Octy.”

“Oh stop Vinyl, I only introduced you two, it was you who did the rest of the work.”

“uh-huh, then who the hay was it who said I should where a suit to our first date and give the lady flowers, to show her my more respectable side huh?”

Fluttershy giggled, then turned back to the bar to see Moonbeam waiting for her, and quickly turned back to Vinyl to speak. “Hey Vinyl, I was wondering if you could do me a favor, you see I brought this mare with me…”

“Thought I saw you getting cuddly with somepony, nice to see you getting back out into the dating seen again, anyway what’s the favor?”

“…well I want to have a little dance with her, so I was wondering if you could maybe pull out some nice dancing music for me, and also...” she quickly whispered something into Vinyl's ear, who gave her a big grin before patting her on the shoulder.

“Sure thing Flutters, now get back to your date ok, I think she is starting to stare daggers at me.”

Fluttershy looked back, but Moonbeam was not staring daggers at Vinyl, but she was looking rather expectantly at Fluttershy, giving her a coy smile before turning back to her drink. Fluttershy then walked over, pulling her off her chair as the music started, moving her onto the dance floor before turning to face her.

Moonbeam felt Fluttershy pull her close, letting her slowly guide her as they began to dance with the music, till her ears caught the first words of the song. Her eye’s widened, for as the words had sounded the stage had been filled with magic, the floor being covered in a field of stars as the roof disappeared to reveal the night sky. She then turned Fluttershy, who smiled before giving her a quick kiss on the cheek, and then they continued to dance.

As they moved with the music Moonbeam couldn’t keep her mind quiet, thoughts racing through her head as she moved with the beautiful mare before her. “my heart has not soured this way in thousands of years, not even Clover could make it race this much…she is by far the most beautiful mare I have ever seen, and I honestly can’t see a future without her, I…I must have this mare, she…she completes me.”

Fluttershy herself was having a similar bought of thoughts racing through her head, keeping her eyes on Moonbeam as they danced. “She…she really is the one isn’t she, I…I haven’t felt this happy in years, not since Talon was with me. I don’t care how this started, and I don’t care how the next date will go, I just know one thing. Come date number three, I will give myself to her, because I won’t let this kind of love slip by me again.”

They had been so caught up in their thoughts that they hadn’t noticed how passionate their dancing had become, how inseparable their bodies were as they moved across the dance floor. Finally Moonbeam could not take it anymore and took the lead, grabbing Fluttershy in her forehooves and dipping her, giving her a deep and passionate kiss before finally pulling her up as she broke the kiss, smiling as Fluttershy’s eyes fluttered open before speaking. “I hope that was not to bold my dear Fluttershy,” she said, ignoring the ponies around applauding around them.”

Fluttershy stared at her a moment, then smiled, “it was perfect…”

Luna and Fluttershy giggled as they made their way through the palace, Luna having changed back to her normal self after they had returned. They made it to the room Luna had arranged for Fluttershy, Fluttershy opening the door before stopping and turning around to Luna. “I had a nice night Luna, it was great.”

“As did I my dear Fluttershy, I cannot wait till our next outing.” She then leaned in and gave her a kiss, both of them holding it for a long moment before Luna finally pulled away, giving Fluttershy a look as she spoke. “You sure I cannot convince you to let me in, I promise you you will not regret it.”

“Hmm tempting but…no,” said Fluttershy, giving her another kiss before pulling back and closing the door, giving her a little wink before it closed and leaving Luna in a very flustered state. But as she turned to leave, a wide grin spread across her face, and she leaped into the air, doing several back flips in the air before landing back on the ground and pumping her hoof, for even with all the teasing Fluttershy had done just now, it had been the best night Luna had ever had in a long time, and she was going to make sure that come the third date, she would be able to repay the favor in kind. So with that thought she left for her room for the night, ready to let her dreams claim her to speed her through the nights long march and bring her once again into the presence of her love.
