Hello! Let me introduce myself to you. My name is Shy, yeah weird, huh? My parents named me that name because they thought I would ended up being shy. Well, they were right. Then about my appearance, my hair is pink,I tried to dye it, but a day passed the fake color just disappeared! I don't know why, but that's how it's supposed to be, isn't it? About my school, I rent an apartment near it. My parents would visit me once a month. Well, I'm not surprised, I'm their only child. Oh, and by the way, I am a scholar at my school, mind you.
So let me tell me story. Since last year I was a certified pegasister. I idolize Dusk Shine, Butter Scotch, Rainbow Blitz, Elusive, Applejack, Babble Berry, at least. I never thought the world of magical ponies existed, but boy, was I wrong. ---- 3 moths ago.. "Shy, me and your father can't visit you this week, we need to cancel it due to business matters. We will be visiting you in 3 months." 3 months. 3 long months. Have I told you that ever since I came to my school, they only visited me once? I bet, after 3 months, they would cancel it again meet me up at another 3 months.
And so I need to accept it. I would be all by myself for 3 looong months. Well, I was wrong again.
That time, it was a very stormy and cold night. I had my cup of hot chocolate by my side, rewatching the previous episodes of MLP. I had always wanted a plushie of butterscotch, but my parents said that I need to grow up and be a lady. A purple smoke from the kitchen came to the living room, and before my very eyes, I saw a yellow Pegasus, pink-haired, height of 4’11 feet and at closer inspection, a stallion. I rub my eyes thinking it was just a dream. Then I realized, it wasn’t. Or he wasn’t. “Yay! Dusk Shine’s spell worked!” the Pegasus screamed, even though it was so soft. Still paralyzed from the event, I asked the pony to turn around. Startled, he had himself hidden behind the door. “Don’t be afraid, I’m harmless.” I said. And to my surprise, he is butterscotch! “Butterscotch?” “H-how did you knew my name?” I decided to keep the show from him a secret, since he has no clue about it. “Lucky guess, I guess?” We had a little chat at the living room, where he explained that Dusk Shine had discovered that there are humans and volunteered, well not exactly volunteered, but pushed him to have him as a test for teleporting to earth.
“S-so can I s-stay for a while in your house? That is, if don’t mind. It’s just a day or so for Dusk and the others to find me.” Being confident to my new friend I said: “Of course Butter Scotch, you are welcome in my home.” That evening, the storm has subsided and I decided to buy more leafy greens for me and Butterscotch. After all, I’m kind of a vegetarian too. “Butterscotch I’m home!” I saw him staring at my photo when I was 9, holding my puppy. “I didn’t noticed you had pink hair like me. I mean, you wore your hoodie when I first met you.” “Oh that’s right. It was cold because of the storm.” “And where is your puppy? I like to meet him.” “Oh.. He died a year ago.” “Sorry about that.” -- We then ate dinner. I made a vegetable salad. The two of us are full.
“So Butterscotch, where do you want to sleep?” “Um.. I’m just a guest. You should decide.” “Well I guess you can sleep with me?” “Wouldn’t be that a burden to you?” “Oh no, it wouldn’t” on the inside, I’m screaming and blushing. I jumped at my bed. A few minutes later, I felt a jump at my bed. I can’t sleep. Few moments later, I felt hooves around me. I didn’t mind it. Not at all. Okay you got me I’m blushing.
Next Morning..
I jumped out of bed and look around for butterscotch.
"Butterscotch? Where are you?" And to my surprise, he is in the kitchen, cooking pancakes.
"Good morning, Shy." "Good morning"
"I cooked you breakfast" "Aww you don't have to." "Accept this as a token of gratitude."
I sat down and ate with him.
We chat and he talked about Equestria, the two rulers, and actually I’m not surprised for I am a pegasister. “Hey Shy, do you have school?” asked ButterScotch “Well I have but we have 2 weeks vacation. I don’t want to go home because my parents are on a trip, so it’s no use.” “Sorry about that.” “It’s nothing” ---- “By the way, I study Veterinary Science” “Oh boy, I love animals!” “Glad to hear it from you” I smiled.
A week passed and Butterscotch became homesick.. S I decided to give him a present..
"Butterscotch!" I called to him. I saw him sitting by the window. Eyeing on the pet of Mr. Fredicksen's wife, Ms. Ellie. The two were a happy couple, but Ms. Ellie is unable to bear a child, so they just take care of homeless dogs and cats by the street.
"Scotch?" I called to him. He is still oblivious. "Scoooootch!!" as he turn his head, his face seems to be, sad. "What's the matter Scotch?" I asked, a bit of concerned tone in my voice.
"Nothing. It's just that I missed Angel Bunny so much, and Owlowiscious, and Tank, and Gummy, and Opalescence, and Winona, and.." I cut him off before his homesickness becomes worse. "Hmm. Wait here, I'm going to the store. Just wait, ok?" "O-okay." I smiled at him warm-heartedly. As I enter the pet shop I noticed that there is a cute little bunny, snuggling closely at its food. I decided to buy it for Butterscotch.
On my way home there are a group of people outside my house, peeking through the window. "What's going on? Why are you here at my house?" I asked them, a little bit of fear at my tone, for I thought they found out Butterscotch to be an animated pony.
"Oh nothing, just a little surprise for you nerd!!" Allysa said, a rival of mine ever since we met. A purple goo got me at my face. It was icky. "Eww!" exclaimed Daixiery and Sam in unison, both are "friends" of my adversary. And like food in my stomach, they left. I decided not to get it to my nerves. Good thing the bunny is safe and sound. As I entered my house, I saw Butterscotch, hiding behind the sofa.
"Scotch? Why are you hiding?" "I heard voices outside, they were all l-laughing e-evily, like Queen Chrysalis, times three!! he exclaimed, a hint of fear in his voice. Then he opened his eyes and caught mine. "W-why are you with purple goo? D-did they put you in a trance?" He asked, a bit of worry in his tone. "Nah, it's nothing. They just pulled a prank on me." "Phew," he sighed in relief. "I thought so. I experienced that too at flight camp. Good thing Rainbow Blitz is always there for me."
"Yeah. Don't mind bullies. They just don't have a life. Oh, I have a present for you!" I showed him the cage of the bunny. "Aww that's a cute- um, what is that?" "Um, yeah this is a bunny in this world,."
"SO that's a bunny! Can I take care of it? Can I? Can I? CAN I?! said the bouncing yellow pegasus. "Of course you can! I'm going to leave you two here so you can play while I'm going to hit the shower." I said, as the sticky feeling is now running in my body. "OK! Thank you!" replied the stallion.
"So Scotch, have you given her a name yet?" I said, playing with the little bunny.
"Well, I have one name that fits her.."
"Well what was it? Is it Angeal? Rubby? Ruby? Toothy?" and the list goes on...
"Hmm.. I want to call her..."
"Fluttershy." He said.
"Oh, is that so? Why is that?" I asked in curiosity. "Well.. because animals make my heart flutter.. and I decided to name it after you, Shy." the winged pony said, giving a smile.
"Well that so sweet of you.." I replied. "Now go play with her while I make lunch."
As I finished preparing, I called Butterscotch for lunch. "Hey Scotch, I am going back to school next week. I hope you don't mind." I said, as a worrying expression across his face.
"Say, why are you sad? It's not like I'm going to give you away." I chuckled inwardly, as he shuddered at the thought.
"No, I don't mind it at all. It's just that maybe somepony., er, someone breaks into your house and I can't protect it. I can't call the police too, you know. It's not that I am asking you to leave your school, it's just.."
"Oh don't worry. My parents installed something on the flat to keep me safe and sound." I gave him a smile.
"Phew. Umm.. Shy,,. can I ask you something?" he asked, feeling a bit uneasy.
"Sure, anything for you Scotch." I answered back.
"W-well, I hope you don't mind, but I will not going to sleep with you on your bed. You know, I realized that your a girl, and somehow I'm a boy.. So.."
"Ok I get it, I get it.. Your feeling uncomfortable aren't you?" I said..
"Um.. To cut it short, y-yes."
"Hmm it's ok. You can sleep on the couch." I smiled, in return he accepts the offer. -- As night time came, I am already preparing for bed. I saw Butterscotch drifting off to sleep. I would say it is quite an adorable, very adorable sight. I quietly turned off the TV and gently made my way to my bedroom. A few minutes passed, I could feel the cold air touching my skin, so I decided to check on Butterscotch. He is shivering, I quickly pulled some new blanket I didn't used since I came here.
Some moment later, I could hear the rain drops on the roof. As the air began to be colder, I suddenly fell asleep. And then.
KABOOM!
Lightning and the loud sound of thunder woke me up. I wanted to get up and check on Butterscotch, but was completely immobilized because of Astraphobia.
After the sounds of KABOOMing storm, I finally get to sleep. --- At morning, I saw pink. Pink and yellow to be exact. And then I realized..
"GYAH!" I screamed, seeing Butterscotch startled, too.
"EEP!" Said the pegasi.
"Shy let me explain! I-" he said, furiously blushing.
"N-no need. Seeing that you just saw me in my undies isn't right, b-but I completely understood.." I gave a concerned look, knowing what have he gone through the entire night going to sleep because of the storm. But my smile looks like I'm about to eat him. And, yes, because of the cold weather I forgot to take my pajamas on. But thanks to the comforter, I slept well.
After the little fiasco this morning, I found her way out of the bed by.. well by walking, of course. I made my way to the bathroom. In front of me is a girl, staring awkwardly at herself, and has a hair of a mess, still trying to take in what just happened this morning. And then after a few minutes of fixing myself, I heard a knock on the door..
"Hold up! I'm coming!" I said, as a pitch change occurred in my voice. I need to do it, in fear of Butterscotch might be discovered by someone.
As I open the door, in front of my very eyes, was a tan man, well, a boy, or whatever you want to call him, standing 6 foot tall. He wore a cardigan covering a purple shirt. He looks like around the same age as me, if not, older. And for the unusual part, his hair is purple, with pink stripes running on it. I stared at him awkwardly, 15 seconds before I came back to reality.
"Hello Miss. I am Dusk Shine, a protege of Prince Solaris, and bearer of the element of Magic. Now may I ask you if, by chance, have seen an unusual "pony" in this area?" said the man.
"Oh, umm yes. In fact, he is staying here at my house." I replied.
"May I come in? I am completely famished from all of the pon- people in this neighborhood, saying I am such a crazy man."
"Yes of course. Please take a seat. I am going to call Butterscotch."
"I see, so you had been friends with him." said Dusk. I must admit, he is pretty good looking when humanized. -----------
After minutes of explaining that Dusk made Butterscotch a "volunteer" for his spell to travel across dimensions, that actually worked, and how Dusk made himself like a human in order to blend in after 3 days of preparing, the room had been filled with white light, followed by a thunder sound. The next thing I knew is that I passed out because of my phobia.
"Is she a-alright?"
"Oh what happened to the little darling?"
"If she wakes up I'm going to throw her a welcome-back-to-your-senses party!!!"
"Maybe I can show her my stunts?"
"Ah sure hope she's alright sug'rcube."
"Calm down guys, she's fine"
"My little ponies, behave yourself. She is about to wake up."
Wait, I knew that voices. I said to myself. I need to make sure they are them. The last thing I want to see are angels and devils beside me, saying that I am a soul now.
I slowly opened my eyes to see 6 ponies and 1 man. I recognize them all. Elusive, Babble Berry, Rainbow Blitz, Applejack, Dusk Shine which turned to human, and of course, Butterscotch. But I least expect Prince Solaris to be here.
After I regained my composure, they introduced themselves to me.
"Good morning darling. I am Elusive of Ponyville! Maker of the finest suits and dresses!" said the white one, taking my hand and landing a peck on it. I blushed a little. Of course he is like this.
"Hello there! I'm BabbleBerry nice to meet you! I throw the best Berry bashes ever! If you can visit Ponyville go to Sugarcube Corner! I bake cakes, cupcakes, and oh muffins! Yes muffins! Do you know Derpy Doo?! He is the mailpony of Ponyville! He loves muffins! Oh do you love muffins too?! Or do you love cupcakes! I can bake you a cupcake on the spot! If you want I can throw a party here just for you! We can play games, and OH! We can play pin the tail on the pony! It's the best game in Ponyville for partying! And then we can- mmhhm hmhhm." Berry said, not even gasping for air. I am quite amazed of the endurance of his lungs.
"Come on Berry! Don't hog the lady to yourself!" said a voice in the background.
"Oh. Umm.. Don't mind him. He is just Berry being Berry!" said Dusk, placing a hand in Berry's muzzle.
"Well, I'm glad that's over. Anyways, I'm Rainbow Blitz! The fastest flyer in all of Equestria!" The cyan pegasus said proudly, giving a puff in his chest.
"And ahm Applejack! Nice ta meet ya miss! Am I ever glad that you took care of our friend in here! Oh and our fam'ly makes teh most delicious apple products you can ever eat!" said the pony in a stetson hat, shaking my hand with his hooves like there is no tomorrow.
"And I am Prince Solaris. I co-rule Equestria alongside with my brother Prince Artemis." said the Prince as he walks beside me. "This 6 here are my little ponies and the Elements of Harmony bearers. Forgive us, but we haven't catch your name."
"Oh.. I'm Shy."
"What I meant is your name, young one. Will you repeat it again?"
"I'm SHY." I said emphasizing the Shy.
"Don't be afraid dear. We knew that seeing talking ponies isn't what you see everyday, but do not be shy. We just need your name." said Elusive.
"But guys, her name is Shy." said Butterscotch. Thank you Butterscotch, I owe you one.
The room fell silent. What is wrong with my name?! It's not as weird as their name, right? Right? The silence of the room was broken by Rainbow Blitz's laugh.
"Bahahahahahahaha! What kind of parents would name their foal like that?!" He said laughing his flank on the floor, tears forming on his eyes.
"Blitz stop it. Say sorry to her!" said Butterscotch. Oh Scotch I owe you double now.
"Oops sorry! No offense! Eheh." He said wiping his tears. "None taken." I sighed. I wonder why my parents named that to me? Oh yes, it's because I'm SHY.
When this events are taken place, Prince Solaris is staring at me like I just ate a pony. He quickly realized what he has been doing and took his eyes off of me.
"Shy, we need to talk. You aren't supposed to be born a human."
"Shy, we need to talk. You aren't supposed to be born a human." At this remark, my body froze.
"WHAAAAT!?" I screamed at the top of my lungs. It's not everyday somepony just barge in your house and says that you're not a human. That's a no no.
"Shy calm down. I know this is surprising for you. Let me elaborate." Solaris said, at his right is Dusk Shine, getting a quill and a notepad. Of course he will take down notes.
"Alright alright I'll calm down, K?!" I replied.
"Ok." the Prince said. "Do you realize that you have an unnatural hair color?"
"Ummm, yes." I said touching my hair.
"Do you realize too that you have an unusual eye color?"
"Of course." I rolled my eyes.
"And that you have a scar at your thigh?"
"HOW did you knew that?!"
"Heh. MAGIC?" said Solaris with a grin on his face. Okay this is getting creepy.
I just rolled my eyes. I saw Dusk Shine taking notes. What a nerd. Heh.
"Ok enough with that. What are you trying to say?" I asked Solaris with a stern voice,
"All I am saying is that you are supposed to be born a pony, Shy. You see, you have an unusual hair and eye color for a human, and you have a scar on your thigh!" Said Solaris.
"WHAT?!" I passed out again. ---------- SPLASH!
Ow! Cold! What the hay!
" Berriswainer DaVinci Bubble that is no way of treating a lady!" said Elusive in an angry tone.
"I'm sorry! It's just that you passed away FIVE hours ago because of what Prince Solaris said and if you don't remember what he said then he said" he paused for some air and continued. "Shy, we need to talk. You aren't supposed to be born a human. Then you said WHAAAAT?! then he said Shy calm down. I know this is surprising for you. Let me elaborate then you said okay! and then he said that you have unusual hair and unusual eyes and said that you have a scar on your thigh and then he said he saw it with magic and then you where like WHAAAAAAAAT? and then BOOOM! You passed out and then because you passed out I-" he was stopped by Applejack's hoof.
"We get it haystack! Now if ya don't mind will you just SHUT UP!" said Applejack, irritated.
"Now Shy, if you don't mind I shall continue explaining why you are not supposed to be a human." said Solaris
"ok."
"You see, an eon ago, Equestria had experienced a plague. A plague wherein for everypony born, there is an equivalent creature that has the same attributes, but has the opposite type of specie. But as years passed by and the plague disappeared. But it seems like you still have the bloodline of your ancestors that had the plague. And because of that you were born a human, not a pony." Declared Solaris, remembering the past.
"BUT! With all my studying for the past few centuries I have made a counter spell for the plague. You can be a pony if you wish."
"Sounds like a premise, but I would think about that. I have a few questions to ask." I said.
"Carry on dear."
"Ok. First of all, if I turn to a pony, would I get to leave Earth and start a new life on Equestria? And if I leave, what would my family think? What about my school? What about my friends?" I asked.
"Sigh. Let me answer your questions my dear human. First of all, if you get turned into a pony then technically you would be living in Equestria. Secondly, if ever you chose to be a pony, all of the humans that you know, or know you, would lost their memories about you. It is as if you didn't exist in this world. The people that know you, including your friends will not have any trace of memory about you. It is like starting a new and fresh life on Equestria. If you wish, I could even erase your memories about them, too." stated the Alicorn.
"Wow. I don't know what to say." I said.
A lot of things changed over the years. I have always been bullied. Other people call me nerd. They all hate me. My mother and father don't care about me. I remembered our conversation the night I met Butterscotch. They didn't even visited me, just for one day. As I recall these memories a trail of tears began to crept in my cheeks. But then I realized that there are good memories too. I remember when I was young, my childhood friends would even climb a tree just to get me an apple. I remembered my best friend, who died of cancer. She was always there for me, even if she is the one who needs comforting. Then there was my grandma, who always wants my tummy to be full. The guests in the room began to shift to my side and offered a group hug.
"I know it is hard my little human. But this is the truth." Said Prince Solaris in a fatherly tone.
"It's okay Shy, let it all out." said Butterscotch, petting my hair.
"Thank you.." I gladly accepted the hug. We all sat there a good of five minutes, until I spoke up.
"I made up my mind." I said, breaking the hug and silence, eyeing the mane 6 and the Prince.
