How would you feel if you were a filly up for adoption by humans?

It was just a regular day in the peaceful town of Clear Water. Human children like me wandered through the streets on this fine Saturday. But I had no friends, other then that boy named Cal, and Charlotte. They knew I was a brony. They were bronies. And on that eculiar Saturday something changed our lives forever...

Yes, the Mane Six fillies, me, and my two best friends meet! Are girls pegasisters? Im a girl. And yes, Im ten. =/

Finding Our Fillies

It was a normal Saturday. The birds were singing and it was beautiful outside. Other kids my age were playing soccer or kickball in the park. Some girls - kindergartners and first graders - were playing with Barbie dolls. Adults were taking walks with infants near my school, Manz Elementary.

What was I, Sam, and my friends doing that sunny day? We were inside watching one of our favorite episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. We watched how Twilight Sparkle tried her hardest to turn an apple into an orange with her loyal assistant, Spike. Our hearts skipped a beat as another Pinkie Pie appeared out of a pond.

Rarity seemed so beautiful in her newly designed dress, and Rainbow Dash was as cool as ever. Fluttershy was acting very kindly to her critter friends, making our hearts melt and a high-pitched "Awwww!" to escape our mouths. All we wished for was to watch My Little Pony, all day, everyday.

But apparently Cal, Charlotte, and I couldn't have that wish. My mom shooed us outside with a flick of her hand and a slam of the front door. We wandered through Tyler Street, bored. That's when it all began.

I led my fellow bronies towards the school we went to. Don't get us wrong, we didn't think about My Little Pony all day. We still are normal children, you know. We just like a TV show, that's al...Well, I guess we go on websites and stuff, too, but you get my point.

Anyways, we entered school. My friends and I are fifth graders. Manz is open to students during weekends if the students wanna go in the library and read or get extra help on math, science, reading, and all that stuff. My mom often makes me come an hour each day on the weekends for math.

We headed down the stairs to the Janitor's Only area. We're pretty tight with him, so we're allowed down here. As we sat on a chair, we heard some squeeing and little squeals. They were so faint and so tiny, so Cal went to check it out.

"Oh my god..." We heard him breath and we walked to where he was. Our hearts nearly stopped as we saw what he was staring at.

There was a red-and-white checkered pillow with a note by it. But that wasn't what caught our attention. It was what was on it. Six pairs of eyes stared up at us. One rose, one sky blue, one purple, one darker blue, one turqouise, and one light green.

The light green eyes belonged to an orange filly with her mane and tail done in a ponytail. She had freckles on her cheeks and a small smile. She was an earth pony.

The darker blue belonged to a white unicorn filly with a curly and stylish purple mane and tail. She had a thoughtful frown on her muzzle, as if studying our sense of fashion.

The turqouise belonged to a yellow pegasus filly with a long, pink mane and tail. She tried her best to cover her eyes with her bangs and shrank deeper into the pillow.

The light blue pair belonged to a pink earth pony filly with a frizzy pink mane and tail. She grinned ear-to-ear and regarded us with a friendly squeal.

The rose eyes belonged to a cyan pegasus filly with a shaggy rainbow mane and tail. She had on a smug smirk and her wings flared a bit as if challenging us to a race.

The purple eyes belonged to a purple unicorn filly with a blackish-purplish mane with a streak of pink and purple. She gave us quizzical look and frowned uncertainly.

Together, they were......The Filly Mane Six!

Charlotte reached down slowly and gently picked up her two favorites, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie. Pinkie immaedietly gave my friend a big smile and squealed with delight. Fluttershy managed to hide her face under her bangs and gave Charlotte a look full of fear, panic, and seemed unsure of how to react.

Cal picked up AJ and Rarity and looked at them with utter amazement. Rarity blinked twice and scanned my friend head-to-toe. Applejack raised a hoof and touched it to his chest, her eyes saying "Can ah trust you?".

I looked down at the two who were left, which were my favorites. Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. As I pickd them up, RD's wings went full-out flared and she flapped them as if she was an insect before giving up on escape. Twilight's horn sparked a bit but she didn't resist me, yet she still gazed at me uncertainly.

I picked up the note and read from it. "Dear brony/bronies, I have left these fillies here for you to take care of. Please treat them well. Sincerely, Care Giver.".

We didn't talk. We hid our fillies in our coat pockets and went home. Cal to his house, Charlotte to her's, and me to mine. Once arriving, I climbed up to tree house to inspect RD and TS....

I took the two out of my coat pockets, took off my coat, and set them down on my table. Rainbow stood up immaedietly and let out a snort of protest and hot-headedness. Her tail swished and she unfolded her wings from her sides.

Twi sat patiently and seemed to scold RD lightly. She sat her friend down and chuckled as Dash blushed and covered her face with her cyan wings. Then her purple gaze settled on me. She raised a hoof and set it on my hand. She gave me the smallest of smiles and nodded, as if confirming that she trusted me.

I started to get teary-eyed. I didn't know why Twilight felt that she could trust me, or how she was here in my world. But I knew that was a huge privilege for me. Now all I had to do was gain little hot-headed Dashie to trust me. How hard could that be, right?

Yea, so, I know that this is pretty unoriginal and I need to get a few more details in, as well as make it longer. Just keep in mind that this is really hard for me, being only in the fifth grade. xD

A week later, I was pretty used to going up to my treehouse after school - and during weekdays, all day- and my mom always thought I was just playing outside, which made her happy. But it made me happy as well.

You see, I had two My Little Pony fillies - Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle. Cal had Rarity and Applejack, while Charlotte had Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. Whenever we walked to school together, we would report on how our fillies were doing.

Twilight trusted me since I first took her to my treehouse. She had signaled that by touching her hoof to my hand and nodding. Why she had been so quick to trust me, I don't know. But RD was my problem.

The energetic filly would mess up the treehouse and snort at me when I saw the mess she had made. Rainbow would try to convince Twi that I could not be trusted, but luckily, Twilight objected. Dash was also learning how to fly, so I had to lock the windows and close the doors so she didn't escape.

I wanted Dashie to trust me. But how long would it take? I fed her extra apple slices at dinnertime, gave her Caramello squares for dessert while Twilight only got a small Snickers bar, when RD got hurt by crashing into the wall I nursed her back to health, and yet she still resented me!

Well, I guess I had to keep trying. Perhaps Dashie will come through soon, and until she does, I'll be patient. Besides, she will one day grow up and maybe talk! Then maybe we could work things out...

Today I checked out a book from the school library. It was called "How the Rivers of China Were Made and Other Tales of Lore". I figured that Twi might like to get some reading done, if she even knew how. I know that Tales of Lore might not be the best choice to get the unicorn filly reading, but it seemed pretty exciting to me.

Sure enough, when I handed the golden book to Twili - Yes, I did start calling her that - she seemed engrossed in it! I asked her if she would read to me, and to my surprise, she can talk! She must be older then Dash. She read about The China River Legend to me out loud.

"
Long ago, there were no rivers or lakes on the Earth, only the Eastern Sea. In this sea lived four dragons: the Long Dragon, the Yellow Dragon, the Black Dragon, and the Pearl Dragon. One day, as they flew from the sea to the sky and played in the clouds, the Pearl Dragon pointed down to the earth and cried out for the others to come and look. On the Earth they saw many people putting out fruits and cakes and burning incense sticks while they prayed. One white-haired woman, kneeling on the ground with a thin boy on her back, was praying, "Please send rain quickly, God of Heaven, to give our children rice to eat,"-for there had been no rain for a very long time and the crops had withered, the grass turned yellow, and the fields cracked under the scorching sun. "How poor the people are!" said the Yellow Dragon. "They will die if it doesn't rain soon!" The Long Dragon agreed and then suggested that they go and beg the Jade Emperor for rain. He then leapt into the clouds and flew towards the Heavenly Palace with the other Dragons following close behind.

The Jade Emperor was in charge of all the affairs in heaven and on earth and he was very powerful. He was not pleased to see the Four Drogons rushing into the Palace. "Why do you come here instead of staying in the sea and behaving yourselves?" The Long Dragon stepped forward and said, "The crops on Earth are withering and dying Your Majesty. I beg you to send rain down quickly!" The Jade Emperor pretended to agree with him and repsonded, "All right. You go back first and I'll send rain tomorrow." The Four Dragons thanked the Emperor and flew happily back to the sea.

Ten days passed and no rain came to the earth. The people suffered more and more, some eating bark and roots, others forced to eat white clay when they had nothing more to eat. Seeing this the Four Dragons felt sorry for the people because they knew the Jade Emperor cared only about pleasure and never took the people to heart. They decided they could only rely on themselves to relieve the people from their misery. Seeing the vast sea the Long Dragon said he had an idea. "Look, there is plenty water in the sea where we live. We should scoop it up and spray it towards the sky. The water will be like raindrops and come down to save the people and their crops!" "Good idea!" said the others. "But", the Long Dragon added, "We will be blamed if the Jade Emperor learns of this." "I will do anything to save the people!", the Yellow Dragon declared. The others Dragons agreed and they flew down to the sea, scooped up water in their mouthes, and flew back into the sky where they sprayed water all over the earth. The Four Dragons flew back and forth, making the sky dark and before long the sea water became rain and it poured down from the sky. "It's raining! It's raining!" the people cried. "Our crops will be saved!" They leapt with joy as the wheat stalks raised their heads and the grasses straigtened up.

The god of the sea discovered what the dragons had done and reported it to the Jade Emperor who became enraged and ordered the heaveny generals and their troops to arrest the Four Dragons. Being out numbered, the Dragons could not defend themselves and were soon captured and brought to the Heavenly Palace. "Go and get four mountains to lay upon them so they can never escape!', the Emperor ordered. The Mountain God used his powers to make four mountains fly from afar and pressed them down on the Four Dragons imprisoning them forever.

The Dragons never regretted their decision and determined to continue to do good for the people, they turned themselves into four rivers, which flowed past the high mountains and deep valleys, crossing the land from the west to the east, and finally emptied into the sea. Thus they became China's four great rivers-the Heilongjian (Black Dragon), the Huanghe (Yellow Dragon), the Changjiang (Long Dragon), and the Zhujiang (Pearl Dragon).

"Wow," I heard Twili say, tears in her purple eyes. "Why would the Jade Emperor ignore the Dragons' pleas?"

My heart skipped a beat and I held the young filly in my arms gently. "Because some beings - whether mortals or gods - can be so selfish, that they will let innocent beings die of hunger and thirst." I explained softly.

Then Dash walked in and saw the unicorn crying. Dash immaedietly took Twili away from my grasp, thinking that I had hurt her.

I walked into the treehouse to check on Twi. I had been doing that since she read that Tale of Lore. That's when I saw little RD staring out the window, looking sad and lonely. Her rose eyes shone in the moonlight and I could hear little whimpers.

I sat next to Dashie silently, and she didn't object or snort at me. I finally spoke after several moments. "Are you okay, Rainbow?"

Her gaze settled on me and sighed before looking back up at the stars. She raised a front hoof and seemed to reach for something in the sky - Perhaps a dead friend or relative?

I now realized that the cyan pegasus had to have had a mother. Then I seemed to share Dash's thoughts. It was a rainy evening when a gray pegasus with wall-eyed eyes and a chestnut stallion with a tie on stared down at me/Dash.

"It'll be alright, Rainbow Dash, my sweet." The stallion said gently as I seemed to whimper. "Three humans are waiting for you."

The wall-eyed pegasus touched her hoof to my cheek, to sad to speak. A portal opened and everything went black.

"You were abandoned by your parents, weren't you? I understand now..." I murmured to Dash. The filly blinked at me and smiled. Her hoof touched my hand and we nodded in unison. I held her in my arms and we stayed like that for several minutes, watching the stars.
