This is a emotional story of Dinky Hooves never fitting in but trying to find her way.
Hours of impatient walking Dinky wants to go to school like every other pony she just wants to fit in. So after some talking to her mother (Derpy Hooves) Derpy lets her join.
"Mom mom, its today its today!" Dinky said impatiently. "Time for school, time for school!" Derpy raised her head off of her cloud pillow. She had been having a hard time sleeping the night before over the concern of her daughter going to school. "Mooom are you okay?" Dinky said in a troubled voice. "It's nothing Dink" Derpy said in a reassuring voice. "Lets get some breakfast and get goi-" Dinky had already left the room and had made her way to the kitchen. "Hmm kids." Derpy muttered to herself with a smile. Derpy made her way to the kitchen and hears a loud crash and some glass break. Derpy acts immediately and bursts her way into the room. "Whats going on in here Dinky!?" Dinky was taking cover underneath the table when she see her mother and said back. "I was trying to get the glasses out, but my magic wasn't as strong as I thought it was. I'm sorry mommy, are you mad at me?" "No I'm not mad at you muffin, I'm just glad that you're safe." Derpy says while hugging her child. "Lets just clean this up and grab a muffin on the way out." She said "Yeah that sounds better." Derpy muttered to herself
Walking outside was a beautiful sight for Dinky. The birds were chirping, Vinyl Scratch's music wasn't as loud as normal, and Rainbow Dash had just cleared the sky, most likely in ten seconds flat. "Its going to be a great day for you Dinky." Derpy said. After about ten minutes of walking, Derpy and Dinky had tripped a couple of times on there way their walk. They could finally see the school yard. Derpy stopped to talk to Dinky. "Now I want you to be on your best behavior when your in there. Be nice to the others and give Miss Cherrile the apple in your ba-" Dinky had all ready made her way to the yard when Derpy looked back at her. "Kids, what ar-." And just like that Derpy had spotted a butterfly and had started chasing it. Dinky was finally standing in front of the wooden doors of her school she whispered to herself. "Here we go." And makes her way into the classroom, but only to be stopped short by two older ponies who looked to be in a grade higher than her. Bumping into the leg of one the other pushed her to the side, hitting her head on the guard rail.
"Hey, stop it!" Dinky said with courage,she had summoned up. But it was all in vain, for her pleas were just encouragement to the older ponies. One of the ponies (Who looked like the leader of the group) used his magic to pin her up against the old oak tree in the yard while the other ponies went to the sky to grab a cloud to throw cloud balls in Dinky's face, which made her mane all wet. Blinded by the water, all Dinky could do was scream for help and get chocked by all the cloud in her mouth. When all of a sudden ,when Dinky felt like she was going to pass out, she heard a closed door open with a great "BANG" and heard three fillies yell out "Cutie Mark Crusaders to the rescue!" Dinky suddenly dropped from the tree, and about the same time she heard one of the other older ponies grunt after a powerful thud was taken to his chest. Dinky wiped her eyes as she saw that the crusaders that came to her aid had only done minimal damage to the older ponies. Dinky shuttered in disbelief that what she saw was actually a terrible thing. SweetieBell was laying on the ground unconscious, Applebloom was being chased around the yard by a flying pony, and Scootaloo was being held by the other older ponies magic. Dinky closed her eyes becausevshe didn't want to see anymore than she just had. Dinky could feel how weak she was from the pain she had taken and the pain that was given to the crusaders, a single tear went down her eye, she could feel great amounts of power rushing to her horn. She tooka breath and with a powerful yell that could rival the crash of the sonic rainboom she screamed "STOP IT!" A ripple wave of air flew past the older ponies like a gust of wind to leaves, the older ponies were lifted to the air with a blue magical force that imprisons them inside a bubble like force field. Dinky had open her eyes which illuminated a bright light blue that had the crusaders scared. She then lifted the older ponies higher and higher into the sky, but this time they're above the school. And with a single nudge of Dinky's horn the older ponies were flown from the school yard to possibly see Canterlot by the looks of it. Dinky's eyes returned to normal and just like that, Dinky vision turned to black and she passed out.
The Cutie mark crusaders, in complete shock had not known what just happened but what they did know was that they needed to get Dinky out of the public, fast before anypony sees what had happened. Hours later the crusaders had dragged Dinky all the way back to sweet apple acres to their hide out on Scootaloo's scooter Sweetiebell had ran to Twilight Sparkle's library to learn what had happen with Dinky. Applebloom started closing the window blinds to the hide out so no pony could leer in while Scootaloo just finished tucking Dinky into bed. Then there was some footsteps that came outside, all inside were quiet. A knock in a certain pattern was played on the door. It was Sweetiebell. She bursts through the door screaming her head off "I got it, I got it!" The other ponies covered Sweetiebell's mouth and told her to be quiet as she placed the old dusty book on the table and peered in to see what secrets were to be shown. All three of the ponies read at the same pace and the same place to the end of the sentence. All three ponies gasped in horror because they know now that they aren't safe with Dinky in the room. "We need to get rid of her." Scootaloo said with concerned whisper. "We can't do that. Shes way to dangerous to be set loose on the world now." Applebloom said. "What ever we do we need to do it now." Sweetiebell said. As those words were spoken a faint voice in the back of the room went "Do what?" Dinky had awoken.
Derpy speeding through the air so fast she can feel the friction in the air as she continued to chase that butterfly from before. Taking turns so fast that even a familiar rainbow mare could think that it was something to be amazed about. Then all of a sudden the butterfly just stops and Derpy speeds right by it. Derpy then looking back wondered why the butterfly had stopped but in Derpy's confusion she hadn't seen where she was going. The gray mare shattering a window going through the house of Vinyl Scratch, bouncing off of a large speaker and knocking over Vinyl's favorite turn table as she was in the room.
"Hey, Hey, Hey. Come on girl don't wreck my wub station." Vinyl said as she rushes to Derpy picking her up so she can get to her turn table.
"Wub. Whats a wub?" Derpy said as her eyes stopped rolling from after her crash.
"What are wubs?" Vinyl shockingly said back to the confused gray mare. "Wubs is what everpony needs to love and live for in their every day life. Not only as an experience but as a life style that ponies from all over Equestria would want to know more about if anypony has ever heard it. Me myself make the best wubs that anypony has ever heard. Well thats what the hardcore wub listeners say in Canterlot." Explaind Vinyl with the most excited and pleased face anypony has ever seened.
"I still don't get it." Derpy said to the now upset mare.
"Let we say it in a different way. Its a type of music called dubstep. Here let me show you." Vinyl said as she made her way to the volume controls and turning it full blast.
Derpy could hear the static from the speaker that it was so loud. Derpy so scared didn't know what to do she wanted to listen but the speakers were as tall as the room and were every where. Vinyl puts on her headphones that are attached to the turn table. Then Vinyl starts the track. The music so loud it shook the entire house, the bass pumped adrenalin, the scratches made Derpy have goosebumps this was something new for the gray mare. She felt confident about where she was and who she was. The wubs took her mind off the fact that some ponies made fun of her for her eyes but she never really knew why the other ponies did that. It must have been a way for the other ponies to seem better of themselves than what they truly were. As the track was still pumping Derpy got up by the side of Vinyl and just stared at her for the longest time. Vinyl looked back but she wasn't positive that Derpy was looking at her with her eyes looking like they were all over the room. Vinyl got to a silent part to the track, the scratching was still going the bass had stop, it was the build up. The scratches grew louder and louder then a sudden stop, it was silent, it almost seemed as if the world had stopped for the to mares as the locked eyes. Then the loudest most amazing bass drop that ponies could hear miles away could as if they were in the room with them. This went on for another minute and a half until it came to a gentle stop of pure satisfaction. Derpy never wanted that moment to stop and she knew that with Vinyl that moment never did have to stop. Vinyl turning off the speakers and her turn table, setting down her headphones looked back up at Derpy to see that she was only inches away from her.
"How was that." Vinyl said with a smile on her face. "Its still a working process bu-" Vinyl was cut off by the gray mare for her lips were on Vinyl's. Vinyl so shocked and confused on what just happened. Why was she kissing me? Does she like me? Vinyl thought but didn't pay much attention to it because Vinyl had thought of a moment with Derpy like this for as long as she had known the gray mare. Vinyl just letting it happen felt so happy she knew that it was meant to be in that one kiss she knew that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Derpy and raise a family with her. Derpy started to pull away from Vinyl but Vinyl didn't want to stop for she was in love but she let it happen any ways. Derpy looked into Vinyl's big beautiful red eyes as Vinyl looked back into Derpy's great yellow eyes.
"I wub you." Derpy whispered to the Dj pony.
"I wub you too." Vinyl said with commitment to their new forever love.
"Want to do it for a little longer as we listen to more wubs?" Derpy said.
"That sounds great!"Vinyl said as she used he magic to start the next recorded track on her speakers.
And just like that the two mares went at it again, not caring who saw them because to them, the two mares in love, they didn't care for what any other pony had to comment on the situation. All they cared about was them staying warm, being together and listening to wubs.
The next morning Derpy woke up next to Vinyl. At first she wasn't sure why she was there then she remembered the night before about how perfect it was and who she spent it with.
"Hi. Good morning." Derpy said still half asleep.
"Hi... Wait I have a question." Vinyl said very concern.
"What is it?" Derpy said
"Wheres your daughter?" Vinyl said as she turned to face Derpy.
By the time Vinyl did take to turn Derpy was already gone. Derpy soaring the sky looking for her daughter.
"Damn it how did I forget her." Derpy muttered to herself.
Derpy then had an idea after looking for half an hour she would go to the school and ask miss Cheerilee where she was at. Derpy Gliding down the halls looking for her bursting through the class room and grabbing miss Cheerilee.
"Do you know where she is. My daughter Dinky Hooves?" Derpy said out of breath.
"Theres a note." Cheerilee said pointing to a folded piece of paper.
Derpy picks up the note and reads it in sheer terror. The note said "Mom if you get this message I want you to know that I'm fine but I need to find Zecora to learn a bit more to what happen to me the other day. I'm with the Cutie mark Crusaders so I'll be covered all the way there to her. But I ask you please don't come to find me I'll be fine as long as I have my friends by my side and the help of Zecora teaching me how to control my magic. Sincerely your little girl, Dinky." Derpy breaking into tears falls to the floor and... Smiling.
"Runs in the family, but I was hoping that it would skip a generation." Derpy said as her tears bounced on the paper.
"What runs in the family?" As Vinyl enters the classroom panting heavily from running as fast as she could after Derpy.
Dinky and the Crusaders walk in to Zekora’s hut unannounced.
“Ah Dinky and the Crusaders come in for awhile and tell me about the latest style.” Zekora said with glee on her face.
“Ugh Zekora I don’t think we have much time for chit-chat.” Applebloom said quietly as if she was going to wake somepony up.
“What is wrong little Applebloom? What makes you down and in the gloom?” Zekora said in a concerned voice. As Dinky had walked in front of the Crusaders to state her case.
“It’s me Zekora I think there is a curse upon me. The Crusaders and I were being bullied and all of a sudden my vision went light blue and I summoned a great amount of power that I’ve ever seen before or experienced.” Dinky said as she tried to sound as sane as possibly.
“Ah I know of this case, you shouldn’t be sad, have a smile on your face.” Zecora said to cheer up the small philly.
“What do you mean?” Scootaloo said interrupting the conversation.
Zecora walks to the window to give herself a more dramatic appeal.
“Many years ago a philly like you gave a magic fight, her name was Twilight. Even though she was young she proved to her teacher to be the top gun. The said it to be a curse but it was something not a worse.” Zekora said turning back to the four phillies.
“There is no fret, there is someone that I know that can fix this I bet. When midnight has come you shall not be stun. There is a mare that will be there to take you into the night to have you learn more about this magic fight.” Zekora said.
“I don’t get it.” Applebloom said with a confused look on her face.
“It means that we have to go at night to find Princess Luna to learn more about what happened to Dinky.” Explained Sweetiebelle.
“Oh well that seems easy.” Scootaloo said with a smirk on her face.
“Be careful at night there might be something there that will give you a fright.” Zekora said as she booted out the phillies out of her hut.
"What do you think she meant by that?" Applebloom said with a bit of fright in her voice.
"Zekora means that we need to be prepared for what ever is thrown at us while we wait here for Princess Luna. Lets gather supplies and wait till night fall. We need to be as prepared as if an Ursa Major were coming for us." Dinky said standing up for the group as a leader and a friend.
"Alrighty then girls lets do it!" Applebloom said as each philly went into differn't was to get there supplies for night fall to come.
Hours later night has finally come and each philly had gather their supplies for the night ahead of them. They all had their water, food, weapons, and whatever they needed for their journey ahead of them.
"We need to make are way to Luna's statue. Its only a few miles away from here but I think we can get there in a jiffy as long as we stay focus and... LISTEN!" Dinky yelled as she saw Sweetiebelle staring into the starry sky and then back at Dinky.
"Haha sorry..." Sweetiebelle said as she shrugged and looked at the ground.
And just like that Dinky and the Crusaders went on their way to princess Luna's statue. An hour later they all could see the statue just a few meters in front of them.
"Well there it is, wasn't all that bad getting here." Said Sweetiebelle very cocky.
"Yeah a little to easy if you ask me." Said Scootaloo very concerned over their situation.
Just then there was some rustling in the bushes behind them. All four phillies turn and took out their weapons in preparation for the beast that appeared to be stalking them.Then out of the bushes emerged... a chicken head?
"Ah so thats whats been following us." Said Sweetiebelle as she approached the chicken. "I thought we were going to be in dang-" Sweetiebelle was cut-off by herself as she noticed that she couldn't feel her hooves. "Whats going on here?" as she looked down to notice that she was turning into stone. "Oh nooooo" As sweetiebelle yelled as she turned to have a single tear on her face as the rest of her body was in case in stone.
"Its a Cockatrice!" Applebloom yelled as she and Scootaloo turned and ran towards the statue.
Dinky started to walk up to the Cockatrice. The Cockatrice stares at Dinky and starts to turn her into stone also but Dinky powers through it and takes out her sword and in one single swift motion she had taken off the Cockatrice's head right off of its shoulders. Dinky's hooves became normal again and Sweetiebelle started to turn back also. Sweetie belle started to cry.
"Why are you crying?" said Dinky as she started to hug her.
"It was horrible. I could see what was happening and couldn't move. It felt like my whole body fell asleep in a terrifying nightmare. I...I just couldn't stand the thought of it happening to you either. Nopony should have to go through what I just did ever." Said Sweetiebelle through her tears.
"Its alright were all safe now." Said Applebloom as her and Scootaloo returned from running after hearing their friend come back.
"We need to get out of here!" Said Scootaloo impatiently.
"I agree its not safe for you four out here all alone." Luna said as the Crusaders and Dinky look up in delight for they have lasted through the night and finally had gotten up to Luna.
"Luna.. We're here for help." Dinky explained as she broke down into tears.
"I know Zekora told we were you were going and why and I will gladly take you as a student in the palace." Luna said as they all gathered into Luna's cart and faded into the dusk sky.
