Canterlot High is having a big New Year's party with their many friends!
It's New Year's Eve and Canterlot High is having a big party. The Rainbooms and Ninja Turtles have invited many of their friends, The Digidestined, Spy Racers, Carmen Sandiego and the ACME agents, Mighty Ducks, and Street Sharks. The only one not having fun is the young Likety Split who fears that everything will end at midnight. Will someone help calm her down and help her see there's nothing wrong? Will Logan know the right time to say Happy New Year? Will Veemon wake up in time? Either way, Happy New Year!

It was nighttime at the gymnasium of Canterlot High School. all around, students were arriving and setting up decorations and food on some tables. Among them were the Rainbooms and their friends from New York, the Ninja Turtles and allies, helping out as well. They even invited some of the friends from their adventures to join the celebration. The Street Sharks, Digidestined, Mighty Ducks, Carmen Sandiego and the ACME Agents, the Spy Racers, and Creepie with her bug family. Just then, Leo saw Team Shine enter with Night Shine and Serenity.
“Hey, Shine Boy!” he greeted. “You guys made it.”
“Yeah. Thanks for inviting us.” Shine Boy nodded.
“Yeah. Where’s the bar?” Night Shine asked, taking off his fedora.
Sunset walked up. “It’s over there. It was the first thing we set up. Just remember, it’s just sodas and fruit drinks, Luke.”
“Long as they have root beer.” Night Shine shrugged as he headed to a makeshift bar where some students were working.
Gamer saw so many of their friends and allies mingling with each other. “It’s great to see so many of our friends to celebrate New Years.”
“It was very nice of Principal Celestia to give you guys permission to throw a party here.” Serenity complimented.
“Well, a majority of us did well in our end of semester tests.” Twilight admitted.
Just then, Principal Celestia and Dr. Mallow walked up. Celestia wore a formal gown with multiple colors while Mallow wore a tuxedo. “Hey, everyone.”
“Hi, Principal Celestia. Hi, Dr. Mallow.” Greeted Shine Boy.
“My, you both look wonderful.” Gasped Twilight.
“Why, thank you, Twilight.” Celestia smiled. “Now remember, if you ever need anything, Principal Cadence, Shining Armor, and Granny Smith will be around. In case of emergency, they have our number.”
“Understood.” Sunset promised.
“Well, we’re off to our New Years party!” Dr. Mallow chuckled as they left, waving goodbye.
Next, they saw Vice Principal Luna, who wore a dark blue dress, arm gloves, and a new years hat, and Bishop, who also wore a tux.
“Good to see you again, Bishop.” Gamer waved.
“Glad to be capable of enjoying these celebrations without missions.” Bishop nodded.
“As am I.” Luna smiled before they waved goodbye and left.
Following them were Cranky Doodle with his wife Matilda along with Fugitoid and Cheerlie. They all were dressed formally too as Fugitoid wore a high silk hat with his tuxedo attire.
“Now you all behave yourselves.” Cranky instructed.
“But don’t forget to have fun.” Matilda smiled.
“We sure will, sir. Mam.” Leo promised before the two left as Cranky blew his noisemaker.
“You have fun now, Professor.” Sunset told Fugitoid.
“I certainly will, Sunset.” Fugitoid smiled.
“Not to worry, Sunset. I’ll be keeping my eye on him.” Cheerlie assured them. “Enjoy your party and Happy New Year!”
“Thanks. you too!” Shine Girl waved as they followed the others.
“Well, Come on!” Leo waved. “Let’s join the others.”
Soon, everyone greeted the team and soon, everyone was mingling with each other. Shine Boy was walking with Leo, Twilight, Davis, Ripster, and Wildwing.
“This is gonna be one heck of a New Year’s Eve party.”
“It’ll be nice to kick back after a busy year.” Wildwing agreed.
“Yeah. Some of us had to take naps before we got here.” Davis added.
“Looks like some are still napping.” Shine Boy noticed Veemon snoozing at the corner near the coats.
Davis rubbed the back of his head. “Yeah. We’ve had to take care of a few things before we got here.”
“Hope the little guy wakes up by midnight.” Ripster hoped.
“I wouldn’t worry too much. Not yet anyway.” Leo advised.
“Well come on. As Pinkie would say-!” Shine Boy gestured to Pinkie who cheered.
“Let’s get this party STARTED!”
Shine Boy: We’re gonna stay up late and party
We’re gonna make a lot of noise!
Sunset: We got enough of banging stuff
To be loud girls and boys!
Mikey: We’re gonna rattle cans!
Casey and Zach: Bang pots and pans!
Pinkie: So everyone will hear!
Rarity and Fluttershy: We’re gonna stay up late and party and shout
Everyone: Happy New Year!
“Happy New Year!” Logan kept cheering before Lancer held him down.
“Whoa! Not yet, Bro!”
“At midnight! When the old year is over and the new year begins.” Yolei informed.
“Over?” The Rock N’Beats turned to see a girl their age. She had light violet skin and pink hair with green ribboned ponytail and wore a blue jacket over a green blouse and skirt, mint green pantyhose, and pink leggings. On her skirt was the picture of an ice cream dish. “The old year will be over?”
“That’s right, Likety Split.” Nodded Sweetheart. “That way we can welcome the new year.”
“I didn’t know that.” Likety Split muttered as she walked away.
“It’s really not that big of deal.” Fluttershy said, hoping Likety heard her.
Likety Split: I’m not sure about this new year.
It sounds so new and strange
I kinda like the old year
Why do we have to change?
Rock N’Beats: We’re gonna be with friends
As the old year ends
And give a happy cheer!
Likety Split: I don’t know
Where does the old year go?
Does it just… disappear?
As everyone sang, Streex went to the center and break-danced.
All: We’re gonna stay up late and party
And shout
Likety Split: I mean, what’s it all about?
All: Happy New Year!
When the song ended, there was a crash sound. Everyone turned to see Steve Urkel near the entrance and had accidentally knocked over a decoration pillar.
“Did I do that?” he asked nervously.
Later, after fixing the pillar, Shine Boy, Serenity, Sunset, Twilight, Leo, TK, Kari, Streex, and Steve were at the snack table eating some snack food like pizza rolls, cheese cubes, fruits, etc. When Likety Split walked up to them.
“Sunset, is it true that the old year ends tonight?” Likety asked.
“Well, yes. Yes, it is.” Sunset asked.
“It’s like this, Likety Split.” Serenity held out her planner and show it to her. “December is the last month. After that, we go all the way back to January the first month.”
“Just think of it as a lap around the year, Likety Split.” Streex added. “After we finish December, we start the next one as January starts and the cycle continues with a brand new year.”
“But what happens to the old year?” Likety asked.
“Well, it’s like every other year. It’s history.” TK shrugged.
“Even so, it’s nice to look back on everything that happened in that year, so there’s nothing to worry about.” Kari assured.
Likety didn’t look convinced as she walked away.
“Is she gonna be okay?” Shine Boy asked Sunset.
“Is it her first New Year’s?” Steve wondered.
“Well, you see, guys, Likety Split tends to misunderstand things and processes a little slowly.” Sunset explained. “It took me a while to understand that when I help her study.”
“Ah.” The group nodded.
Just then, Mikey, Pinkie, and Nosedive walked up with a cart full of pinatas as Mikey announced. “It’s pinata time!”
“That’s a lot of pinatas, guys.” Twilight eyed.
“Yep.” Pinkie grinned. “A couple days ago, Gabby told me that her family back in Mexico would whack pinatas at celebrations, including New Years. So, I made a couple pinatas.”
“We made a lot so everyone can have a turn whacking.” Mikey added.
“They even personalized them.” Nosedive smiled as he held a pinata the shape of the Ducks’ nemesis, Dragaunus.
“Dibs on whacking the one shaped like Piranoid.” Streex said.
“Sounds like fun!” Steve added.
“C’mon! let’s try it out!” Serenity suggested as they walked over.
Meanwhile, Trixie Lunamoon was on her phone when Likety Split almost ran into her.
“Hey! Watch it! The great and powerful Trixie is making her traditional New Years phone call!”
“Tradition?” Likety asked.
“Yes. Trixie calls some of her magician friends on New Year’s Eve and we say something special to each other.”
Likety Split perked up. “If magicians do that on New Year’s, then there might not be anything to worry about the New Year.”
Trixie then smirked to herself. “Oh, how the Sneaky and Conniving Trixie cannot resist.” She then pretended to be upset. “Oh, my dear Likety Split. I’m afraid you have plenty to worry about. You see, at midnight, everyone and everything you love, every month, every day, every hour, every moment, every second of the year. Will be over.”
“O-Over?” Likety gulped.
“Why do you think everyone throws out their old calendars?”
“I don’t think I want to know, Trixie.” Likety whimpered.
“Because they don’t need them anymore.”
Likety screamed before running away. When she was gone, Trixie bursted out laughing. “Trixie never ceases to amaze Trixie.” She grinned before returning to her phone call.
Back at the party, as everyone was finishing up beating the pinatas, Jab and Tanya were picking a ball from the gym’s storage room.
“This volleyball should work just fine.” Tanya held up a white volleyball.
“Great! Let’s go find Donnie!” Jab thumbed up. They were on their way when he saw Veemon still snoozing. “Boy! Can that little guy sleep.”
“Must’ve had a very productive day.” Tanya shrugged as they headed over to the others.
At that moment, Davis was munching on some candy from the pinatas when he saw his Digimon still fast asleep. “Aw! Veemon! I know you’ve been busy, but you’re missing out!”
Meanwhile, everyone else was panting and laughing after whacking the pinatas and enjoying the sweets Pinkie stuffed them with.
“Boy! Who knew hitting pinatas could take it out of ya.” Tony Torreto chuckled.
“I think personalizing them was the true motivator.” Frostee agreed as Night Shine walked up carrying a big mug of root beer.
“Yeah! Had a real kick watching Cisco going nuts on one of the Gem Knight pinatas.” He chuckled.
“Those treats just sounded tasty.” Cisco grinned.
Jab and Tanya then walked up to the group and Jab handed the volleyball to Donnie. “Here’s the ball you requested, Donnie.”
“Perfect!” Donnie accepted.
“What’s the ball for, Donatello?” Cody asked.
“You know how Times Square has that big giant ball that falls on New Year’s?”
“Oh yeah! I remember the year before we met the Rainbooms April and Casey brought us and Sensei to the roofs to watch.” Raph recalled.
Metalhead walked up as Donnie continued. “Well, I decided we could have our own new year’s ball. Metalhead will hold this volleyball until midnight when it’s time to say-!”
“Happy New Year!” Logan cried and began playing his air horn before Tanya held him down.
“Whoa! Whoa. Not yet.”
“Though, how is Metalhead gonna know when to drop the ball?” asked Micro Chip.
“I am ninety-nine-point nine percent accurate on time.” Metalhead explained. “Plus, Donatello adjusted my time units earlier today so I should have precise timing. Also, Gamer is synchronizing the timer for me.”
“Synchronizing…. Now!” Gamer proclaimed. “There we go! Only three and a half hours before the new year!”
“You sure you’ll be okay, Robo Dude?” Sandalwood asked Metalhead.
“As long as my arm get oiled every two hours, I should be able to hold the ball before tossing at precisely midnight.”
“So what do we do now?” Echo asked.
Applebloom came running by. “Granny just set up the old bucket for bobbing for apples!”
“Great! Let’s go!” Pinkie cheered as everyone went to join in on the fun.
Nobody saw Likety Split peeking out from under the table in worry.
“Oh no! The countdown has begun!” she whispered. “I can’t let everything end! What can I do?”
As Canterlot High’s New Year’s party continued, Shine Boy and Serenity were standing next to the bleachers just enjoying each other’s company. Serenity put a pizza roll in Shine Boy’s mouth who happily ate it. After he swallowed, he checked his clock.
“Only two hours and fifty minutes until midnight.”
“Then we’ll do our traditional New Years kiss for our third year together.” Serenity leaned closer to Shine Boy’s face flirtingly.
“Hope you don’t mind the smell of pepperoni in my breath.” Shine Boy joked.
“It’ll just add the spice to our kiss later.” Serenity chuckled.
“Of course, that’ll be nothing compared to when I kissed you when you ate a peanut butter cup at the movies.”
Shine Boy and Serenity chuckled before they snuggled with each other. They suddenly snapped out of it hearing an airhorn.
“What was that?” Shine Boy looked.
“That better not be Logan cheering too early again.” Serenity glared.
“Let’s go see. We got time.” Shine Boy said as the two looked around.
It turned out it was Mikey who blasted the airhorn as he was trying to wake Veemon up. Unfortunately, the Digimon was still fast asleep. He along with Slammu, Streex, Shini, Zack, Ivy, TK, Kari, Rainbow, Pinkie, Scootaloo, Patch, and Clover were trying to help Davis wake Veemon up. “Huh. That usually works.”
“What’s going on?” Shine Boy asked as he and Serenity walked up.
“We were trying to wake up Veemon, but he’s still asleep.” Patch pointed to the sleeping Digimon.
“He even naps more than Rainbow Dash.” Shini pointed.
“And that’s saying something.” Rainbow agreed.
“Stand aside.” Everyone made room as Steve walked up with his accordion. “Maybe a polka will wake him up. It worked on my neighbor.”
“Wait!” Pinkie cried before putting earmuffs on Mikey. “Okay. Go.”
As Steve began playing on his accordion, Pinkie whispered to Zack and Ivy. “Mikey can’t stand polka.”
“Ah!” the two nodded.
Steve finished his polka by shouting. “WAKE UP!”
But to everyone’s shock, Veemon was still fast asleep.
“Wow. Even after all that and he’s still asleep.” TK blinked.
“Even Gatomon couldn’t sleep through that.” Kari added.
“Oh man!” Davis worried. “I’m running out of ideas! At this rate, he’ll sleep through the party!”
“Maybe we can douse him with water.” Slammu suggested.
“Or maybe grab an alarm clock.” Streex figured.
Everyone kept thinking about ways to wake Veemon up when they were interrupted by a shout.
“STOP! THAT! MERRY MAKING!”
Everyone turned to see a small figure wearing a fedrora, sunglasses, a white beard, a trenchcoat, and carried a black suitcase.
“Que paso?” Gabby asked as she and Casey walked up.
“THERE CAN BE NO NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY AT CANTERLOT HIGH SCHOOL!” The figure stated.
“Oh really?” Shine Boy winced.
“No New Year’s Eve party?” Patch took a back.
“Says who?” Pinkie demanded as the group walked up to the figure, joined by Grin, Creepie, and Granny Smith.
As the figure set their suitcase on the snack table, Granny spoke up. “What seems to be the trouble going on here?”
“I am from the department of Parties and Celebrations! I just flew in from Washington, where we know all about parties!”
“The Department of Parties and Celebrations?” Casey raised a brow.
“Sounds serious.” Shine Boy said nonchalantly.
“The things the government never tells ya.” Grin muttered.
The figure opened their briefcase and pulled out some papers. “And I have these very important party laws right here in my very important looking briefcase. Yes, um, here we go! Now, according to the section 43 of the hoopla and merriment law.”
“The Hoopla and merriment law?” The group asked.
“Anyone buying this?” Rainbow asked.
“Shh!” Pinkie shushed her.
The figure continued. “And the bylaws and inlaws…”
“Well, what does that mean?” Slammu asked.
“It means that Canterlot High is in the middle of a ‘No Party!’ zone!” the figure declared holding up a no party sign drawn in crayon.
Pinkie gasped as Creepie looked at the sign closely.
“Uh why is it in crayon?”
“Uh, Budget cuts.” The figure answered. “But more importantly, it means that you cannot have a party in these facilities.”
“B-But we’ve had parties before and had no trouble!” Pinkie protested.
“Oh, well, uh, I’ll… leave you with a warning!” the figure confirmed. “Now! I will be flying back to Washington.”
“Steve?” Shine Boy spoke. “Why don’t you help this gentleman with his briefcase?”
“Okie dokie!” Steve walked up to the briefcase and closed it, unaware he closed it on the figure’s beard. “Now don’t you worry your little head off and everything to old Steve Urkel.”
The figure grabbed the case. “Uh no thank you. I’m good.”
“But I insist.” Steve tried to grab the briefcase from the figure before he snatched it pulling the beard off the figure. As he noticed the beard stuck in the briefcase, Steve grinned sheepishly. “Did I do that?”
The figure was revealed to be Likety Split, who quickly said. “Uh, Pay no attention to the beard stuck in the briefcase!”
“Likety Split!” everyone scolded.
“Likety, what in hoo ha are you trying to pull?” Granny Smith demanded.
Likety sighed as she took off her fedora. “I thought maybe if there was no New Year’s Eve party at Canterlot High, the old year wouldn’t end and the New Year wouldn’t come to Canterlot High. It would skip us.”
“This again?” Streex rolled his eyes.
“Likety..” Kari tried to explain.
“I’m not defeated yet!” Likety declared running off.
After a small pause, TK spoke first. “Well, that was weird.”
“So, does that mean we can still have a party?” Pinkie asked.
“Yes, Pinkie. The party is still on.” Granny smiled as Pinkie brightened up again.
Shine Boy whispered to Mikey. “Hey, Mikey. Is Likety anything like that Cozy Glow you told me about?”
Mikey looked for a bit. “Not feeling anything. I think Likety’s just confused.”
“Still, we should keep an eye on her.” Shine Boy shrugged before walking with Serenity.
As the party went on, Vinyl played some music but not so loud so everyone can talk. Some still danced to it while others talked and ate snacks as Metalhead walked by holding the volleyball announcing. “Two hours and forty two minutes till the New Year!”
Yolei was sitting by herself talking. “Okay. This is my first new year kissing Ken. How do I want to kiss him? Nice and slow? Or maybe quick and dip? Augh! Why do they make it look easy on TV?”
Shine Girl walked by eating cheese and crackers and heard her. “Maybe make it a long lasting one? You know? Savor the moment. Of Course, what would I know?”
Over to another table, Raph looked over cautiously as Love Shine tapped his fingers on the table. Duke looked slyly as Layla tightened her eyes while Mimi held up her cards, showing they were playing poker. After much silence, Duke showed his hand chuckling. “Three of a kind.”
Suddenly, Mimi smiled revealing her hand. “Read’em and weep! Royal Flush!”
Everyone groaned being beaten.
“What?” Love Shine double took.
“Clever girl.” Duke sighed.
“I don’t believe this.” Raph muttered while Layla angrily tossed her hand.
“Now now. No sore losers.” Mimi taunted as her Digimon Palmon roped up the snacks on the table.
“Yeah. It’s not like we were playing for money. Just the snacks.” Palmon smiled.
“I’ll get us some Shirley temples.” Duke got up. “Anyone wanna play Go Fish?”
“I’m in.” Love Shine raised his hand.
“Sure, why not?” Layla mumbled.
“Make that two Shirley temples for me, Duke.” Raph added.
As Metalhead walked by the table, Likety Split crept behind him.
“If I can grab the ball, then the New Year won’t come!” she whispered to herself.
Once Metalhead stopped for a brief moment, Likety took this opportunity to grab the ball. She reached for it and was just about to grab it when a hand grabbed her arm. She gasped to see it was Carmen Sandiego who had just gotten a drink and saw her creeping up behind Metalhead.
“Everything okay, kid?” She raised her brow.
Metalhead turned around. “Oh! Likety Split! Did you needed something?”
Her plan thwarted, Likety screamed as she ran off. She ran past Applejack, who looked confused.
“Was that Likety Split?” she asked Carmen. “What the hoo hay was that about?”
“Beats me.” Carmen shrugged.
As she ran, Likety said to herself. “If I can’t stop the New Year from coming, I’ll just have to hide from the New Year!”
“There you go, Metalhead. That should oil your arm nicely.” Carter said as he helped Donnie oil Metalhead’s arm so he could still hold the ball.
“Thank you, Carter.” Metalhead thanked.
As the moment counted down, everyone at Canterlot High was still enjoying themselves at the party as Metalhead announced. “One hour and fifty-one minutes to the new year!”
“Won’t be long now.” Karai smiled as she sat at a table with Flash, April, and Bulk Biceps.
“Yeah.” Bulk nodded.
“Pretty cool how Don’s got Metalhead ready to throw the ball in the air like Time Square.” Flash smiled.
“And Gamer synchronized the time for him.” April added. “That way we know when to shout-!”
Logan popped up. “HAPPY NEW-!”
Karai responded by clamping his mouth shut. “Hold that thought.”
At the snack bar, Tai and Agumon were sharing pretzels with Josh and Keramon as Slammu shared eggrolls with Ace, Melody, and Sweetheart. Slammu set the plate down and grabbed a burger when he heard Kari.
“Likety! Likety Split?” she walked up. “Slammu, have you seen Likety Split?”
“Not since her scam to cancel the party earlier. But I can help you look for her.” Slammu volunteered before quickly eating his burger and joining Kari in her search.
“Likety! Where are you?”
TK walked up. “What’s going on?”
“TK, have you seen Likety Split anywhere?” Kari asked.
“No, I haven’t. What’d she do this time?”
“Nothing, I think. I wanted to see if I could talk some sense into her if she’s still trying to stop the New year.” Kari explained.
“In that case, we’ll help you find her.” TK spoke for himself and his Digimon Patamon.
“Yeah. She’s got to still be here in the school. Let’s look.” Patamon agreed.
As the three went looking for Likety, Leo was at the bar with Twilight, Ripster, Matt, and Gabumon while Casey and Gabby told them about Likety’s failed attempt to cancel New Year’s.
“And then, Steve caught her beard in her briefcase ripping it off her face, revealing it was Likety who ran off!” Casey chuckled.
“And she thought canceling the party would stop the New Year from coming?” Matt raised a brow.
“Likety Split has a habit of believing stuff like that, no matter how absurd it sounds.” Twilight explained.
“Yeah like one time, Snips said he believed the world was made of green cheese and she believed it.” Diamond Tiara confirmed as she and Silver Spoon got their drinks before returning to the party.
“That is absurd yet tasty.” Gabumon shrugged.
“Betcha Someone told her everything would end at midnight on New Years.” Night Shine grumbled drinking another root beer.
“Now who would tell her something like that?” Ripster wondered.
Gabumon looked over to Veemon still sleeping. “I hope Veemon wakes up soon. It’s almost midnight.”
“He’s STILL asleep?” Twilight jawdropped.
“Poor guy.” Leo blinked.
Davis walked up to Veemon and placed a plate of snacks next to him. “Here, Buddy. I saved you some snacks. Man, I wished you were awake, Veemon. You’re really missing out! I wanna celebrate with you.”
Veemon yawned as he spoke in his sleep. “Oh, Davis. I’m having a very interesting dream. I’m dreaming I’m at a party and you’re in it.”
“I wish that would come true, Buddy.” Davis sighed.
Meanwhile, Kari, Gatomon, and Slammu were still searching for Likety Split in the hallways calling for her. Just as they were searching more, Slammu heard a small sneeze. He jestered to Kari and the two walked up to the storage closet as Kari slowly opened the door to find Likety sitting in there.
“Likety Split.” Slammu greeted.
“What are you doing?” Kari politely asked.
“I thought if I hid from the New Year, everyone and everything I know and love wouldn’t come to an end.” Likety muttered.
Kari held out her hand. “Come on.” After she let Likety take her hand and helped her out of the closet, Kari calmly sat Likety on the stars and she and Slammu sat with her as she spoke to her. “Likety, nothing bad is going to happen at midnight.”
“Yeah, right.”
“No really! We’re gonna sing and make a lot of noise at the party.” Slammu assured.
Likety looked up. “You make it sound like… fun.”
“More fun than a catnap.” Gatomon added.
“What made you think everything was gonna end?” Slammu asked.
“Miss Trixie said so.”
“I think she was messing with you.” Kari figured. “You see, Likety, When Sunset said the old year would be over, it’ll be like the next day. We can never go back to yesterday, or in this case, yester-year, but we can try to make this new year better than the last one.”
“How?” Likety asked.
“Well, every New Year’s Eve, people make promises to themselves called revolutions. And as they live their lives, they try to keep their promises to try to make the New Year better than the old one. Like my resolutions are to be a good friend to everyone and keep my hope that human and Digimon can live in harmony.”
“And my revolution is to be there for my brothers and hopefully defeat Piranoid once and for all.” Slammu added.
“And if you want, we’ll stay right with you until midnight.” Kari patted Likety’s hand.
“But… what about the party?” Likety wondered.
“Well, we’d like to go, but only if you come back with us.” Kari said.
“Would you both hold my hand until Metalhead drops the ball?”
“You bet.” Slammu assured.
“Of course!” Kari promised.
Likety got up. “Then here’s my revolution! I promise to never be tricked by lies again! And to never be afraid!”
“That’s the spirit!” cheered Kari.
“Atta, Girl!” clapped Slammu.
“Let’s go to the party!” Likety declared before smiling at Kari and Slammu. “Thanks, guys.”
Kari nodded as she gave Likety a big hug with Gatomon joining in. Slammu rubbed Likety’s back as he wrapped his arms around them too.
“ATTENTION EVERYONE!”
Back at the party, everyone heard Shining Armor as he spoke through the microphone as Vinyl turned off her music.
“METALHEAD HAD JUST ANNOUNCED THERE’S FIVE MINUTES LEFT IN COUNTING BEFORE MIDNIGHT! SO LET’S GATHER AROUND FOR THE BIG COUNTDOWN!”
Everyone gathered at the DJ Booth as Gamer projected the timer on the wall screen. At that time, Kari, Slammu, and Likety entered the gym again as TK hurried over to them.
“Oh hey! You found Likety! Perfect timing! There’s only four and a half minutes until midnight!”
“That’s great!” Kari smiled as she held TK’s hand with her other hand.
“This is it!” Shine Boy smiled as he and Serenity held each other as Serenity chuckled.
“This is it.” Yolei told Ken before thinking. Please don’t botch this kiss!
“Yeah.” Ken nodded as he thought. She looks just as nervous as I am.
“This is so exciting! Isn’t it exciting?” Pinkie bounced up and down.
“I know, right?” Mikey grinned as Shini stood next to him.
Just then, the doors opened as Celestia, Dr. Mallow, Luna, Bishop, Cranky, Matilda, Cheerlie, and Fugitoid hurried in to join the group.
“Hey, everybody!” Celestia called. “We just wanted to be with you all for the big moment!”
Everyone smiled to see their teachers joining them. As she stood next to Leo, Twilight saw a certain dog scurry up to her.
“There you are, Spike!” She picked him up. “How was your video chat with the Paw Patrol?”
“It was great! I also called some personal friends of mine. Took longer than I thought, but at least I made it for the big moment!” Spike smiled.
Over to Davis, he heard someone call his name.
“Davis!” He turned to see Veemon jumping onto the table near him eating the snacks he gave him. “Did the ball drop yet?”
“Veemon! You made it!” Davis cheered as he hugged his Digimon.
Tai smiled. “Looks like everyone is here for this.”
“Wouldn’t have it any other way.” Ripster agreed as Agumon nodded.
Cadence then spoke in the microphone. “OKAY EVERYONE! TWENTY SECONDS IN COUNTING!”
Everyone then began counting down the seconds.

“I can’t watch!” Likety closed her eyes.

For a brief moment, everything slowed down as everyone watched Metalhead toss the volleyball to the ceiling. When the ball fell to the floor, everything sped up again as Pinkie pulled a rope releasing balloons and confetti that fell to the floor.
“HAPPY NEW YEAR!” Everyone cheered.
As everyone rejoiced, Shine Boy and Serenity held each other for a long kiss while Twilight kissed Leo, Sweetie Belle pecked Gamer, April pecked Donnie, Gabby pecked Casey, Sunset pecked Fugitoid, and Mikey gave a big kiss to a surprised Shini.
“Uh… my bad?” he sweated.
Shini responded by grabbing Mikey while smirking. “Your bad? My good.” She whispered before kissing Mikey again.
“Whoa.” Mikey awed.
Duke leaned over to Logan who wasn’t cheering. “Now, Logan!”
“NOW!” The Rock N’Beats cried.
Logan snapped out of it. “Oh right! HAPPY NEW YEAR!”
Over to Yolei and Ken, Ken grabbed Yolei and kissed her on the lips. Surprised at first, Yolei accepted and embraced the moment. After breaking, the two looked at each other lovingly.
“Happy New Year, Yolei.” Ken smiled.
“Happy New Year, Ken.” Yolei sighed before thinking to herself. Note to self. Find a way to thank Shine Girl for the advice.
After giving a quick kiss to TK, thankfully Night Shine held a platter up to block Davis who was distracted anyway, Kari leaned towards Likety Split and whispered. “Happy New Year, Likety Split.”
Likety opened her eyes and saw everyone cheering. “It- It’s the new year. I’m here, and you’re here! Slammu’s here! TK’s here! And all of my friends are here! Happy New Year, Kari! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!”
Over at a corner, Wildcard was standing next to Amethyst Majesty, Jebens Sketch, BozzerKazooers, and Nostalgia Heaven as they toasted with soda cans. “Here’s to another year with these guys.”
“Wouldn’t have it any other way.” Nostalgia smiled.
“Hear hear.” Amethyst added.
“I hear that.” Jebens nodded.
“Happy New Year, guys.” BozzerKazooers smiled.
After everyone calmed down, Granny Smith, Big Mac, Applejack, and Applebloom passed champagne glasses with sparkling cider to everyone as Celestia walked up to the microphone.
“Could I have everyone’s attention please?” she said getting everyone’s attention as she raised her glass to the air. “I wish to propose a toast to thank you all for sharing this moment as we say goodbye to the old year and welcome this new year. That we may continue to show how much the bonds we made means to us and the world. Before we drink, Leonardo has his words to add to this.”
She gave the mike to Leo who walked up and held up his glass. “Thank you, Principal Celestia. I also want to add how happy it makes me to see many of our friends came to join our festivities. Even though not all of our friends could make it, they are not forgotten as we toast to them too. Also, may we all continue to honor the memory of our late father, Master Splinter, by remembering the lessons he taught us as we use them to defend our world.”
“To Friendships old and new in the New Year.” Celestia concluded as everyone drank their cider.
When they were done, Slammu pulled out his saxophone and began playing as Leo began singing.

As they sang, Leo and Karai looked to see Master Splinter at a corner, smiling at them and winked at them before vanishing. As they finish their song, everyone gave one more cry.
“Happy New Year!”
“Booyakasha!” Mikey cried.
As everyone happily visited, Trixie was watching at a corner before someone poured a mug of root beer on her head. As she stood dripping, she turned to see it was Night Shine who poured the mug.
“You heard about what I told Likety Split, didn’t you?” she deadpanned.
“You’re lucky I’m in a good mood and we’re on school property.” Night Shine muttered before walking away.
Meanwhile, the word ‘The End’ show as the Street Sharks gathered around it.
“Well, boys.” Ripster smiled. “Looks like this is the end.”
“A Jawsome ending.” Slammu agreed.
“I just love credits, don’t you?” Streex asked.
“Yeah.” Jab nodded. “Dibs on the ‘N’!”
Grabbing the letters, the Street Sharks happily ate them.
