“Spike! Can you please…” Twilight was interrupted by another wave of nausea and quickly ran into the bathroom. She had been feeling sick almost every morning since ascending into an alicorn. At first she thought it was just from Pinkie’s non stop ‘alicornication’ parties but those finally ended three days ago.
“Twilight are you sure you’re going to be ok?” A concerned Spike asked. “You have been sick for two weeks now.”
“I’ll be…” her cheeks bulged as she let out one last burp. “Fine Spike. I’ll just stop by Zacora’s or the hospital for nausea medicine. It’s not like these wings and the rest of my body haven’t been just as finicky after becoming an alicorn.” She groaned.
“Twilight darling. How wonderful to see you, I was getting worried you would miss our brunch.” Rarity got to her hooves and gave her friend a nuzzle. “Are you doing alright? You look positively dreadful dear.”
A few of the other ponies around watched the two, primarily focused on their new princess.
“Just a bit under the weather. I think Pinkie overdid it with the back to back parties and these things.” She ruffled her wings. “Have made it hard to get comfortable while sleeping.” Twilight replied as they both sat down at the table. “Rainbow Dash is going to be helping me out this afternoon at least with Pegasus training.”
“Well that’s good to hear I would hate not being able to take care of my wings. If I had them.” She tittered.
As the two got their meal, Twilight eating shower than normal, Rarity asked. “So Princess when will you be stopping by to get a new dress?”
“Rarity please don’t call me that. It’s bad enough other ponies have been doing it and I don’t want it from friends.” Twilight frowned.
“Oh darling you know I’m just teasing you. However you do need a new wardrobe considering the new wings and… size.” Rarity sheepishly said.
“What do you mean, size?” Twilight growled with narrowed eyes.
“Nothing darling, it’s just that you’ve gotten a bit, bigger. Probably the Earth pony aspects you acquired after becoming an alicorn.” Rarity said nervously.
Twilight huffed but neither said anything more while finishing brunch. Once finished the two headed to the boutique to take Twilight’s new measurements.
“Say Rarity?” Twilight asked a bit hesitantly.
“Yes darling?” She sensually replied.
“Why are you sticking so close?” Rarity was practically pressing herself under her wing.
Rarity blinked a few times then backed off, “so sorry dear, I just had this sudden urge to protect you.”
“Wha hahaha, Rarity actually said that then got all friendly?” Rainbow Dash was laughing her ass off after hearing Twilight tell her story.
“It’s not funny Rainbow, Rarity basically called me fat then tried to butter me up.” Twilight stomped the ground.
Rainbow turned serious and circled around her closely with an appraiser’s eye. “Well you’re definitely bigger than you were Twi. Not fat exactly but all around bigger. Heck your wings are longer than mine by just a bit.” Rainbow ran a hoof over Twilight’s spread wings causing her to shudder.
“I guess that makes sense.” Twilight blushed then sighed. “Just look-at the other Princesses, Alicorns typically are bigger.”
Rainbow nodded. “Besides we’re here to get you and those wings of yours in shape.”
Rainbow then proceeded to teach Twilight all about preening and proper wing maintenance along with a few simple exercises until the late afternoon. When the two finished training and had stopped for an early dinner Rainbow stuck surprisingly close to her considering all the sweat.
“You did great today Twi. Not as awesome as me but not bad for your first time gliding.” Rainbow bragged as they headed back to the library.
“Thanks, I surprisingly had a lot of…” she was cut off with a bout of sickness and quickly ran to a nearby bush to throw up.
“Twilight!” Are you okay?” Rainbow had rushed over and was rubbing her back.
“No.” She groaned and was slowly lead towards the hospital by a distraught Rainbow.
“Princess Twilight what can we do for you today?” The receptionist asked when they finally made it inside.
“Need stomach medicine.” She managed to get out.
“She’s had a really upset stomach almost everyday after becoming an alicorn. Probably all the stress.” Rainbow finished that last part up quietly.
After being led back into a room, nurse Redheart checked her over and took a blood sample. Once she returned with some stomach medicine, she warned Twilight, “Keep in mind princess, we still don’t fully understand alicorn biology so these may not be as effective. As for the bloodwork, it will take a day or two for the results for the same reason.”
“Is Twilight going to live?” Rainbow’s fear of hospitals infecting her voice.
“Yes Rainbow, she’ll live. Honestly you two should probably talk to Princess Celestial about all this as she knows best about alicorns.” Redheart finished then left the room.
Twilight quickly popped one of the pills and felt mildly better. Rainbow then lead Twilight home and decided to stay the night to watch over her.
It had been two days since Twilight’s last visit to the hospital with Rainbow. The pills had somewhat helped by allowing her to keep food down but the overall nausea was still there. Today however all of her friends had joined her for the test results since Redheart said it was somewhat shocking news.
When Redheart entered the entire group of friends went quiet. “Well Twilight we have your results.” There was a pause. “Congratulations on the foal.”
”The what!?!” Everyone except a shockingly calm Twilight yelled.
“I’m sorry could you please tell me what you mean by ‘foal’?” Twilight’s mane frazzled a bit and she ruffled her wings.
“Well princess, according to the test you’re with foal. It’s well outside the typical season so we almost missed it but all your symptoms line up.” Redheart read off her clipboard.
“I see that’s what I thought you said.” Twilight smiled then immediately passed out. Luckily she was already on a hospital bed so Redheart quickly checked on her and said she just fainted before leaving the room. She didn’t want to get caught up in another Tuesday mess.
“Now how in the Sam hill is Twilight, the book princess with foal?” Applejack asked. “Especially before any of us?”
“Forget the how, I’d be more interested in the who darling.” Rarity interrupted. “Twilight doesn’t even date let alone interact with stallions.”
“I always thought she was into mares.” Fluttershy meekly said as Rainbow nodded.
“Same here considering I thought we had a thing going.” Rainbow said shocking the others a bit.
Pinkie proceeded to pull out a notebook from her mane and flipped through the pages. “No. Not him. That ones married.”
“Pinkie darling whatever are you doing?” Rarity fanned herself with a hoof.
“Trying to find out who the daddy could be.” She threw the notebook into the air, pages going everywhere. “But no one fits the bill until season six.”
The others ignored that last bit and Fluttershy spoke as Twilight woke back up. “Why don’t we just ask?”
“Oh, hey girls. I just had the craziest dream. Nurse Redheart told me I was pregnant. Isn’t that funny?” Her eye twitched a bit.
“‘Twasn’t no dream shugarcube.” Applejack gave her a friendly hug that the others joined in as she began to hyperventilate.
“So darling I hate to be rude, who’s the father?” Rarity had to break the moment.
“That’s just it! I haven’t even been with a stallion before and it’s not like any of you girls could get me pregnant!” Twilight threw her hooves up as they all blushed, they had all helped each other with coolers during heat seasons before but that wouldn’t explain a pregnancy.
“She really hasn’t left her library all week?” Rarity asked spike. He had asked the girls too all meet up at Sugar Cube Corner to give an update on Twilight.
“Nope. And this isn’t her normal shut in behavior either. She isn’t even reading any books.” Spike fiddled with his claws nervously. “She even ate a quesadilla when I accidentally gave her the wrong plate. She HATES quesadillas!”
“Sugar, you do know why Twi is upset don’t ya?” Applejack tilted her hat.
“No, why? Do you girls know?” He innocently asked.
“Well.” Applejack covered her face.
“You see darling.” The rest of the sentence died on Rarity’s lips.
“Epp.”
“Don’t look at me.” Rainbow shrugged.
“Twilight’s having a foal. A Foal! You’re going to be an uncle/older brother Spike.” Pinkie happily answered. She still had no idea why the others had been upset by the news. “And Twilight is going to be a new mommy and Rainbow is going to be the Daddy and I’ll be the fun aunt and Rarity will make it cute clothes and…”
“Hold up why am I the dad?” Rainbow flew into Pinkie’s face. “Why don’t you be the dad and I’ll be the awesome aunt.”
“Silly filly you’re the one dating Twilight, not me.” Pinkie stuck out her tongue.
Rainbow quickly backed up and got flustered. “Wha. I’m. We’re not dating.”
“But you said you want to.” Pinkie said in a sing song tone.
“Girls I think you both got quite off topic.” Rarity interrupted.
“Rares is right. We’re here to talk about helping Twilight and her new foal. She’s already taking the news really hard and she doesn’t even know who the father is.” Applejack agreed.
“It is a bit curious though how even she doesn’t know. Spike, has Twilight been seeing any pony?” Rarity asked.
“Well I don’t exactly pay attention to that.” He tapped his claws together. “But I know she’s slept alone ever since becoming an alicorn and I didn’t… smell anything.” He finished awkwardly.
As the girls bounced ideas around on helping Twilight or who the father might be. None of them noticed a butter yellow Pegasus escaping the room.
“Twilight?” Fluttershy was a bit scared as she entered the library. It was darker than normal considering how sunny it was.
Kindness pressed on however and eventually made it to the bedroom. She had only seen this part of the treehouse a few times before which didn’t help her nerves.
“Twilight are you in here?” She asked again.
“Go way.” The lump int the bed said.
“Twilight it’s okay. Maybe the doctors made a mistake?” Fluttershy pressed forward and made her way onto the bed.
“Nun uh. Checked it myself. I’m going to be a mom.” Twilight sniffled. “The worst part is I don’t even know who with.”
Fluttershy pulled back the blankets to find a very offensive smelling Twilight. She looked like she still hadn’t showered or preened after her last workout with Rainbow days ago. The smell was no worse the some of her animals so Flutteshy felt no discomfort hugging Twilight.
“Shh, it’s okay. Let it all out.” Flutters stroked her mane as Twilight buried her face in Fluttershy’s floof and began to cry her heart out. When no more tears fell she led Twilight into the bathroom and began bathing the distraught alicorn like one of her lost puppies. Twilight gave no resistance and just basked in her friends kindness.
“Thank you Flutteres. You’re the best.” Twilight nuzzled the mare as she was dried off which caused her to blush. That nickname was something only Rainbow used.
Once cognizant enough Twilight used her magic to do a quick change of the bedding before crawling back onto the bed. Twilight bunched the bedding up to resemble a nest and Fluttershy gave a worried look before Twilight lifted a wing.
“Stay with me?” Twilight’s voice was pleading for her to say yes.
Fluttershy nervously nodded then joined her in bed to play small spoon. She had never felt so close to another Pony before even those she had cuddled with. As they drifted off to sleep she almost “epped” as Twilight wrapped her wings around her and began idly licking her mane to scent it.
“Girls!” Pinkie yelled. “My Pinkie sense is going crazy. There’s a doozy nearby.”
“Hey has anyone seen Fluttershy?” Rainbow asked the room and they all shook their heads.
Twilight awoke more relaxed than she had in days. When she opened her eyes and found it filled with a pink mane. Her brain began to reboot but it didn’t finish before a voice rang out.
“Hey Twi, sleep well?” Rainbow snickered from the side of the bed. She and the other girls were all watching her and Fluttershy sleep with playful grins.
Twilight blushed as Fluttershy wiggled closer under her wing to get more comfortable before her own eyes slowly fluttered opened.
“Epp.” She hid under the wing then slowly poked her head back out. “Um, hi girls. How long have you all been here?”
“Good morning Darling, and not long. Spike, the dear, just let us inside only moments ago after a sleepover at my place.” Rarity smiled knowingly but also looked a bit jealous.
“We got a might worried when you off and disappeared on us yesterday.” Applejack winked and whispered close to Fluttershy’s ear. “But it looks like ya were just fine.”
“It’s not what it looks like!” Twilight’s brain finished its reboot and she fell out of the bed backwards. Everyone else laughed at how long it had taken.
“Silly Twilight even if it was ‘that’ we wouldn’t mind.” Pinkie helped her up. “Unless you didn’t let me join.” She whispered in Twilight’s ear causing her to almost fall over as Pinkie gave her a nuzzle.
Twilight tried to speak but kept fumbling her words.
“So Darling it looks like you’re doing better this morning?” Rarity soothed, trying to get everypony back on track. “Though it looks like you could do with a shower.” Her nose wrinkled.
“Yeah.” Twilight grimaced at her own appearance then sighed. “I may not know how it happened but the foal is mine and I know my friends will be around to help me.” She rubbed her stomach lovingly.
“Buck yeah we will.” Rainbow jumped up. “Any time you need us. And if the little filly needs flying lessons I’m your mare. Heck we still need to do your lessons.”
“Will it even be safe to practice in my condition?” Twilight looked worried.
“Oh yes. So long as you don’t take a big fall it should be fine for now.” Fluttershy’s calming voice rang out. “Though Twilight, have you told anypony else yet?”
Twilight’s eyes went wide. “Oh my gosh I haven’t even told my parents or the Princesses and oh No! What will Celestia think or Cadence?!” She threw her head back and began to cry again only for Fluttershy and Rainbow to quickly wrap her in their wings.
“There, there. How about you go get a shower while the girls and I get us tickets up to Canterlot.” Fluttershy began leading them to the bathroom.
“A mighty fine plan, let’s get to it.” Applejack spoke up feeling a bit left out so far for some reason.
Once they were all ready the girls met up at the station just in time for the train. Spike had decided to remain behind to avoid the ensuing family drama.
The ride itself felt like a lifetime for Twilight as she just couldn’t sit still. “What if she sends me back to magic kindergarten or my parents disown me or I can’t be a princess any more?”
“Woah Twilight. I doubt your family or the Princess will go that far. Heck maybe she can tell ya what’s going on with ya.” Applejack gave her a nuzzle and wondered if her bookworm friend had always smelled so good.
“Your right AJ.” She instinctively gave a nuzzle back earning looks from the others. “I bet it will all be fine.”
“This will not be fine.” Twilight was pacing outside her parents front gate. “Not fine at all.”
“Sure it will silly we just need to knock.” Pinkie knocks before Twilight can stop her.
When the door cracks open, “Hello? Oh, hello Pinkie dear is Twilight with you?” Velvet looks around then spots her daughter and gasps. She then runs into the garden and gives her a massive hug.
“Oh my little princess. Celestia told us what happened but I just couldn’t wait to see it for myself.”
“Hi mom not so tight.”
“Oh and girls it’s lovely to see you all again. Come in, come in.” Velvet ushered everypony inside. “So aside from becoming a princess what’s new also let me get your father.” Velvet yelled up the stairs and Night Light ran down.
“Oh hello my baby girl good to see you. Have you found a stallion yet, I’m still waiting on grand foals from you and your brother.” Night Light joked.
The group shared an awkward look.
“Well actually dad…” Twilight started.
“Oh what am I saying you just became a princess.” He continued to ramble.
“Dad…” she tried again.
“What stallion wouldn’t want my daughter.” Without pause.
“Dad!” Twilight was huffing by this point as the room went silent.
“Everything alright Twilie?” Velvet put a hoof on her shoulder.
“I’m pregnant.” She just had to get it out. Her parents eyes went wide with shock. Twilight’s friends all got closer for support.
“That, That’s…” they both sputtered.
“I know, you’re disappointed in me and…” Twilight hung her head.
“That’s wonderful!” Her parents actually started hoping circles around each other talking about all the foal supplies and how they would pamper their grandchildren.
“See darling everything worked out fine.” Rarity comforted while Pinkie joined in on the jumping. The others just watched in amusement until everyone calmed down.
“So who’s the lucky stallion?” Velvet bumped her daughter’s shoulder.
“I don’t know.” Twilight winced as her parents shared a look. The whole group finally sat down and got more comfortable.
“So.” Her mother finally spoke up after drinks and snacks were passed around. “You really don’t know?”
Twilight shook her head.
“Then get a paternity test. The hospitals keep extensive records for… ‘accidents’ like this.” Velvet explained calmly.
Twilight tilted her head but looked more relaxed. “Maybe tomorrow.”
After that initial reveal Twilight and the girls spent the rest of the morning and lunch with her parents. She kept getting embarrassed with their planning but the girls, even Rainbow were all in. Overall Twilight felt so much better after telling her parents.
“Well that went way better than I expected.” Twilight fluffed her wings after saying goodbye to her parents. Her spirits were much higher than they had been all week.
“See sugar family won’t let ya down.” Applejack bumped her flank.
“Yep and now we get to go see the princesses.” Pinkie skipped towards the castle as Twilight’s smile turned upside down.
“Right, the princesses.” Her mane frazzled and she slowed down. Rarity and Fluttershy noticed so they pressed against her sides for support and were covered immediately by Twilight’s wings. Neither mare minded much though Rainbow gave them a look and took up a protective position, hovering above and behind Twilight a bit.
Twilight took a deep breath in from of the throne room doors, her friends all by her sides. “Okay here we go.” She pushed the doors open and walked in.
“Twilight. Girls. So good to see you all today.” Celestia sat on her throne, court had already ended for the day but nobles were still milling about.
Everypony in their group bowed as Celestia stepped from her throne. “No need for that you six. Considering how many times you’ve saved Equestria.” She gave the six a nuzzle and ended with Twilight.
“So what brings you all here today.”
“Well…” Twilight fidgeted with her hooves as Celestia’s eyebrow rose.
“Princess, Twi has some news you and the other Princesses need to hear.” Aj spoke up.
“Yes and it would be best done in private.” Rarity agreed.
Guards were sent to retrieve Luna and Cadence, who was luckily in the castle, while the group all retreated into Celestia’s sitting room. “So Twilight what’s new with you, are the wings treating you well.”
“Hehe,” Twilight awkwardly chuckled as the other idly chatted amongst themselves. “Well I’ll hold off on news till the others get here but I’m getting used to the wings.” She smiled and spread them out.
“Good, good.” Tea and snacks were brought in and Cadence followed soon after. The two still did their Sunshine dance much to everyone’s amusement and Rainbow’s and Shining’s enjoyment.
“Cadence, good to see you, you too BBBFF.” Twilight gave the, both a hug before the others joined in on greetings.
“So LSBFF what’s this news you needed to share?” Shining looked concerned.
“Well we need to wait until…”
Luna popped into the room at that very moment on top of the tea table.
“Luna!” Celestia yelled.
“Sorry for our absence.” She yawned and stepped down then gave her fellow Princesses a nuzzle. “We had to restrain thyself from bucking a guard out of thy window. What is your urgent news young Twilight Sparkle?”
She felt it best to get it over with like with her parents. “I’m pregnant.”
There was a moment of silence before “Tis joyous news thank you for sharing. We shall ask more on the marrow and shall be returning to bed now.” Luna popped out of the room.
“Well?” Twilight looked desperately at the remaining three who just got the news.
“How?!?” Cadence stomped her hoof. “How were you first when Shining and I try Constantly.” Cadence went from jealous to weeping then happy for her and wrapped her little sister in a hug.
Shining blushed then collapsed on the floor.
Celestia just opened and closed her mouth while watching the two young Alicorns embrace. She had no words considering she knew Twilight hadn’t been pregnant during her ascension.
“So who’s the lucky Stallion? Oh don’t tell me it’s that stud Big Mac.” “That’s my brother!” “Or maybe time turner that inventive pony? No he only has eyes for that mail mare.” Cadence rambled for a bit until Twilight cut her off.
“Um, I actually don’t know.” She scratched at the ground with her hoof.
“Ah, anonymous donor since you’re with Rainbow.” Cadance nodded sagely. Celestia still didn’t know what to say.
“Actually no and we kinda are? It happened when I ascended as best I can tell.” This finally got Celestia’s brain moving.
“Twilight that simply isn’t possible.” She shook her head.
“Ah, hate to disagree princess but she really hasn’t ‘done the deed’ with a stallion or gotten outside help.” Applejack spoke up.
Celestia then lit her horn and encompassed Twilight in a golden glow a couple of thin threads flowed towards her five friends that none of them noticed. “That… what?!?”
Celestia then promptly passed out next to Shining armor as everyone yelled her name.
When Celestia woke up she found herself surrounded by the elements and her niece. Shining was still sleeping on a nearby sofa.
“Oh thank goodness you’re awake auntie.” Cadence passed her a glass of water that she happily drank. “What happened?”
“Well… the spell I used for determining the father of Twilight’s foal had some surprising results that even I couldn’t handle.” Celestia set down the cup.
“So who’s the father?” Rainbow rudely asked.
“Well, you are Rainbow.” Celestia chuckled as the mares jaw dropped.
“I knew it.” Pinkie celebrated by jumping high.
“Pinkie you’re also the father.” Celestia was going to enjoy this absurd situation.
Pinkie hung in mid are for a moment before dropping.”wha?”
“And Rarity,” Celestia gave a smug smile.
“Oh my.” Rarity summoned her fainting couch and put it to good use.
“So are Applejack and Fluttershy.” She finished, unable to continue her laughter.
The two mares looked at each other then back at Celestia.
“Princess what the hey are you talking about?” She normally wasn’t one to question the princess but her words weren’t making sense and her laughter made it sound like a joke.
“Yeah how can all my Mare friends be the father.” Twilight asked her mentor.
“Well Twilight my best guess is that the same spell that made you an alicorn got you pregnant. An issue it’s creator wouldn’t have had since Starswirl is male.” Celestia sat up to get more comfortable.
“But how can the six of us all contribute to one foal?” Twilight was getting more confused.
“Twilight,” Cadence, the alicorn of love, understood what her aunt was implying. “Do you know how foals are born?”
“Of course I do,” Twilight huffed. “When a stallion and mare have sex the sperm…”
“No Twilight, on the metaphysical side of things?” Cadence interrupted.
“No…” She hadn’t studied magic relating to the mating process aside from a few things for her and Rainbow.
Cadence sighed. “When two ponies mate, not just have sex, it isn’t Just an exchange of DNA. The very souls of the lovers come together then break off and combine a very small part of their essence to form a new life magically. It is why ponies can have children with other species, the soul matters more than perfect DNA matching. This fact is why Alicorns have such a tough time conceiving, our souls are so much more powerful that our mates can’t easily match us. It is also why artificial reproduction has never worked as a means to help fix the population imbalance or why foals of loving parents are magically stronger.” Cadence finished.
“So what does that have to do with us?” Twilight struggled to fully understand or just didn’t want to.
“Twilight you basically merged souls, mated, with your five friends when using Starswirl’s spell leading to a foal from all six of you.” Celestia answered after calming herself.
The five mares who had been silently listening all decided now was a good time to freak out.
“I’m going to be a parent.” Rainbow dash spoke first.
Celestia had to get back to work while Candence had to get back to the empire with, a still sleeping, Shining Armor. So the five mares had decided to talk while Twilight went off to do research on the metaphysical aspects of pony mating.
“We all are apparently.” Applejack continued.
“Darlings. I know we have all had our… ‘fun’ together before during heat season but this is entirely different.” Rarity added.
“You’re not going to abandon our foal are you?” Pinkie had already accepted everything and was already planning parties in her head for her child and herd wedding.
“Of course not.” She gasped and defended herself. “I just never expected to be a mother already.”
“I think it’s nice.” Fluttershy was on the same page as Pinkie for once. “And I really like being with Twilight and you girls.” She blushed remembering sleeping in the library.
“It may not have been planned but an Apple always does right by their kin and Twilight’s going to be the mother of my~ our foal making her kin. Shoot, granny would have my head if I don’t ask her to form a herd.” Applejack bit her bottom lip.
“Well count me in, I won’t leave my mare hanging.” Rainbow puffed herself up and Applejack wasn’t disappointed.
“So you’re all in agreement then?” Rarity asked and the other four nodded. “Very well I’m in too but you’re all forgetting one critical detail darlings.”
“What?” The other four said in unison.
“Twilight has to say yes first.” Rarity’s statement actually made the other nervous.
The girls, sans Twilight, all sat around in Applejack’s barn. They had all returned from Canterlot earlier that day and decided to meet up in secret for planning, herd planning.
“No this just won’t work, Twilight is a princess.” Rarity made use of her fainting couch again as the others rolled their eyes. “We can’t just ask her at the library!”
“Rarity it doesn’t have to be perfect we just have to ask her.” AJ shot her a look. “I think it’s the thought that will matter more.”
“Not perfect!?! Darling it’s a marriage proposal! It. Must. Be. Magical.” Rarity stomped her hoof to emphasize each word after angrily hoping from their lounge.
“I’m with Rarity it’s gotta be funtastic.” Pinkie spoke up nodding. “And when she says yes we’ll throw the best party.”
“Um girls?” Fluttershy tried to speak up as the other four loudly continued their conversations.
“Girls?” She was again ignored.
“Girls!” Fluttershy’s ears dropped when they all looked her way. “Sorry.”
“Yeah Flutters what’s up?” Rainbow asked.
“Well I think you’ve forgotten something… do any of you even want to marry each other and form a herd? Especially with me?” She looked downtrodden with watery eyes and scratched at the ground while the others all shared a look. They had been so focused on Twilight and the Foal they forgot about each other.
“Well I…” Applejack looked around at her other friends in a new light and with rosy cheeks. They all shared similar looks of embarrassment until Pinike broke the silence.
“Of course we do silly billy.” Pinkie pulled Fluttershy into a hug. “You girls are my best friends and why wouldn’t I want more? Right girls?”
“Uh Pinkie, Flutters may have a point.” Rainbow scratched at the ground. “I love you girls but I was only just getting comfortable with this romance stuff and dating Twilight and now all this happens.” She threw up her forehooves then sighed. “It’s a lot ya know.” She finished by awkwardly rubbing the back of her neck.
“Darlings, I don’t think any of us expected this.” Rarity calmly stated while she took charge. “But we are going to be there for Twilight no matter what even if she doesn’t want to form a herd, correct?”
There was a round of nodding and agreement. “Good then I suggest we all take a break and meet up again tomorrow.” Rarity smiled and gave her friends a hug before leaving.
The others all slowly left until it was only Applejack left in her barn. “When did Rares’ learn to take charge?” AJ shook her head and made her way outside then back into the main farmhouse.
“Granny, Mac, Apple bloom, you all in here? I got something ya talk with ya all about.”
“Eeyup.” Mac spoke up from the dining room.
“Hey sis what’s up?” Bloom asked when her sister entered.
“Something on your mind young’un?” Granny filled up a plate and set it in Applejack’s spot. “Eat up first before it gets cold.”
“Thanks Granny. Actually I got some news for y’all, Twilight is with foal.”
“Really?” Applebloom asked excitedly while Mac raised an eyebrow.
“That mare found herself a stallion? Before my granddaughter? Well I’ll be.” Granny chuckled.
“Actually granny… it’s kinda mine.” Applejack rubbed the back of her neck while the others gave her a deadpan look.
“Now how in Tartarus did you put a foal in Twilight when you’re a mare?” Granny gave here a confused look.
“Well…” She started.
“Wait does that mean I’m going to be an aunt?” Applebloom tilted her head then got excited again. “I’m going to be an aunt!”
Mac just sat chewing slowly on nothing while Applejack tried to explain the situation. When she finished Granny spoke up.
“Well you best make an honest mare of her! No Apple leaves kin alone.” Granny pounded her hoof on the table.
When Fluttershy returned to her cottage she immediately began taking care of her animal friends. All of them could tell something was unusual with their kind caretaker the moment they saw her, the peagsus wasn’t singing her usual tune while filling their feeders and she was slower than normal. When Angle bunny finally asked her what was wrong the mare jumped in surprise wit an ‘eep’ and dropped the bag of feed.
“Oh, sorry angel.” She whispered while blushing . “I was just thinking about something.”
She cleaned up the feed and got back to work while her critters shared a look before angel asked what was going on.
“Well.” She tapped her hooves together. “Twilight, the girls and I are having a foal and maybe forming a herd.”
Angel rubbed his ears thinking he misheard her before asking if it was a joke.
“Oh no, I’m quite serious you see…” she began explaining while looking off into the distance.
“Spike!” Twilight yelled for her assistant.
“Yeah Twilight?” The young dragon poked his head into the main room from the kitchen.
“Bring me some quesadillas please, from that mexicolt place.” She groaned while laying on the couch trying to read a book in order to ignore her budding cravings.
“Um, Twilight are you sure..” Spike tapped his claws together nervously.
“I know what I said! This foal wants something cheesy, even if I hate cheese and I don’t want to ruin toast by having grilled cheese.” She shuddered as Spike just shrugged as he made his way out of the library.
Moments later Twilight heard the door open again. “Spike did you forget Bits there’s…” she cut herself off when she noticed it wasn’t Spike. “Oh hey Rainbow what’s up?”
Without saying anything the prismatic mare nuzzled against Twilight’s neck and planted a kiss on her cheek she then climbed up and cuddled with her on the couch. Twilight had never known Rainbow to act this way so set her book down and just hugged her mare friend.
“Rainbow what’s wrong?” Twilight’s concern evident in her voice.
Rainbow spoke softly. “I don’t know if I want to share you Twilight. I know the others shouldn’t be kept from a foal they’re part of but I don’t know if I can accept that.” She sniffled.
Twilight wasn’t quite sure what to say as she didn’t fully understand what Rainbow was talking about. Before she could ask they were intrupted by Spikes return.
“I’m back Twi and I got your cheesy snacks. “ Spike giggled. “Got some for myself too.” Spike’s jaw dropped and he backed away slowly when he noticed the position Twilight and Rainbow were in on the couch before quickly running upstairs yelling, “sorry to interrupt I’ll be in my room.”
Twilight just sighed as Rainbow had started dozing upon her chest after crying herself to sleep. Without moving she grabbed the first quesadilla in her magic and took a bite. She moaned in pleasure from her craving subsiding and she actually found herself enjoying the food after not having tried anything cheesy since she was a filly.
“This isn’t half bad, stupid hormones.” She mumbled to herself while idly stroking Rainbows back with her hoof before taking another bite.
Once she had finished the bag she lifted Rainbow up with her magic and walked herself and the sleeping mare up to her bedroom for the night. Once in bed Rainbow grabbed her again and the two cuddled together.
Rarity couldn’t sleep. Her thoughts were currently consumed by all of the outfit ideas for her new foal as well as wedding dresses for the girls. Sure she had already had designed dresses for them but those were for individual ceremonies not meant for one herd wedding.
While pondering these ideas she fell into a fitful sleep as those dreams turned into nightmares of the girls not getting along as a herd or other issues popping up and she wasn’t the only one.
