Flurry Heart must help Spyro and Cynder destroy Malefor.
Twelve years after defeating the Dark Master, Malefor, and bringing peace to the realms, Spyro and Cynder have mated and are expecting an egg. However, they soon receive word from Ignitus that their quest to restore peace may not yet be finished and that their enemy has found a new target in a land called Equestria. Can they help to stop Malefor's threat fast enough to restore the peace forever, or is this land doomed for eternity?
There were once two dragons named Spyro and Cynder who had been born in the same year. However, Cynder's egg had been stolen by the forces of the Dark Master Malefor while the fire guardian dragon Ignitus had rescued Spyro's egg.
Many years later, Spyro saved Cynder from Malefor's clutches and they joined forces to seal Malefor and restore peace to the realms.
At the same time, Ignitus had become the new Chronicler, a dragon who would add information to the books of time.
Little do Spyro, Cynder, and Ignitus know that Malefor has escaped again and found a new target.
After defeating Malefor, Spyro and Cynder became mates and started protecting each other. Eventually, twelve years later, Spyro and Cynder were living in a cave they had claimed in a mountain range near the dragon temple. During the last few months, Cynder had been feeling sick and Spyro decided that they needed to consult the other guardians. The earth guardian, Terrador, determined that Cynder had become pregnant, which came as both a shock and a burst of excitement for the two young dragons.

Spyro was returning to the cave late one evening with two spirit gems to help Cynder deal with pain from the egg developing in her belly.
"You're back.", whispered Cynder as Spyro entered the cave and laid down next to her in the nest.
"I found two gems to help ease the pain.", said Spyro quietly as he nuzzled Cynder.
As Cynder held the gems against her scales and absorbed them, she and Spyro slowly drifted off to sleep for the night. However, as they slept, they heard a familiar voice.
"Did you really think I would stay sealed forever?", cackled an evil voice.
"Malefor!", shrieked the two dragons.
The evil purple dragon released a blast of energy that enveloped the two mates and reduced them to ashes, and then he spread his wings and flew out over the world to veil the realms in darkness.
In a flash, both Spyro and Cynder shot out of their sleep and found themselves sweating. They'd had a nightmare, and were feeling weary of what they had seen.
"Could he have escaped somehow?", Cynder asked in nervousness.
"I don't know, but I know we must stop him if he has.", said Spyro in a state of rage.

The next morning, Spyro and Cynder had decided to talk to the guardians after they woke up.
"You sealed him and saved the world.", said Volteer.
"Yes, and you did a spectacular job in the process.", said Cyril.
"If he has returned, you two are the last hope for the safety of the realms.", said Terrador.
Just then, a flash of light blinded the dragons for a few seconds and quickly subsided to reveal a dragon that they all knew too well.
"Ignitus, is that you?", asked Cynder.
"Yes, it is me. I was chosen to be the new Chronicler.", said the dragon.
"I am led to assume that you know what Cynder and I are expecting soon.", said Spyro.
"Yes, I felt it as the recent months passed. Congratulations to both of you.", said Ignitus.
"We've had a vision that has left our scales rattling.", said Cynder.
"Did you sense the same thing that Cynder and I saw in our nightmare last night?", asked Spyro.
"Yes Spyro, and that is why I have come. Malefor has somehow escaped again and he has found a new target.", replied Ignitus.
"Where is this place in relation to the realms?", asked Cynder through angrily gritted teeth.
"This land is nowhere near the realms in our world. It turns out that this land, called Equestria, exists in another universe.", explained Ignitus as he led everyone to the pool of visions.
As the dragons watched the images flash through the pool, they noticed that there were dragons residing in the land, which came as a slight relief that Spyro and Cynder would not be seen as invaders.
After wishing Spyro and Cynder good luck and telling them to be careful, Ignitus supplied them with amulets that would allow them to create spirit gems at ease, and spawn their battle armor before creating a portal to take them to the magical land. As the two young dragons stepped into the glowing rift, they felt as if they were flying at astronomical speeds. Points of light flashed by as they felt their teeth and their tails being yanked backwards. At one point, there was too much light around the two dragons and they had to shut their eyes until they felt themselves slowing down.
Opening their eyes, they found themselves flying in a dive towards the ground in a calm snowy place. Spreading their wings, they glided until they touched down.
"Did we make it?", asked Cynder as she and Spyro looked around.
"I'm not sure.", replied Spyro.
The two mates began making their way south to what looked like a building similar to the temple. They reached the gates at sunset and immediately noticed that the two guards looked like they were wounded. Using their amulets, they healed the guards' injuries and then carried them into the city on their backs. Once in the city, they headed for the largest building, which they assumed to be the main one. Inside, they met what looked like two winged unicorns.
"Welcome to Canterlot, Capitol of Equestria. I am Princess Celestia, and this is my sister, Luna.", said the older alicorn.
"My name is Spyro, and this is my mate, Cynder. We were sent here from our realm to save this place from an evil dragon.", said Spyro.
"I was hoping you would say that. The dragon called himself Malefor and said something about finding a place where you wouldn't be able to stop him.", said Luna.
"Is he the one who injured the guards?", asked Cynder.
"Yes he was.", said Celestia.
Just as the guards were being taken to be treated, Flurry Heart ran into the throne room. After taking a bow, she explained her desperation.
"Your Majesties, the Crystal Empire is under attack from a dark purple dragon. Several houses have been burnt down, Dad's horn is frozen, Mom's horn has been zapped, and her wing has been broken.", she shrieked.
"We will help you. That dragon is our biggest enemy. We thought we had stopped him for good, but he has returned somehow.", said Spyro with a growl.
"Before you go, I have one question. Is Cynder's stomach bulged out because you are expecting an egg?", asked Celestia.
"Yes we are.", said Cynder cheerfully.
"Congratulations.", said Luna.
"Let's go, before it is too late.", Spyro told Flurry.
"Very good, follow me.", Flurry replied.
The two dragons followed Flurry outside and then they took off to fly towards the Crystal Empire.
Upon arriving at the Crystal Empire, Spyro and Cynder noticed that Malefor was still very much present and continuing to terrorize the residents. Flames spewed from his mouth and set buildings on fire, electric bolts caused ponies to collapse from the intense shocks, ice vapor froze hooves to the ground, and earth blasts broke windows. Growing angry, Spyro and Cynder stopped mid-flight and looked at each other.
"Shall we dance?", asked Cynder through her gritted teeth in determination.
"This time, we will destroy him.", replied Spyro.
The two dragons touched their amulets and a soft glow of light began to envelop them. Seconds later, a bright flash interrupted Malefor's rampage on the Crystal Empire as the armor began to appear on Spyro and Cynder.
"Who dares to stop my attack?", he roared.
"WE DO!", yelled Cynder.
"YOU HAVE ATTACKED YOUR LAST TARGET!", shouted Spyro.
"SO, WE MEET AGAIN!", Malefor replied as he flew towards Flurry and the two dragons.
"You will pay for injuring my mother and my father.", hissed Flurry as she closed her helmet's visor.
"I don't care if I injured your pathetic parents or not. Those two dragons will suffer for imprisoning me.", Malefor grunted back.
"Not in a million years.", said Spyro as he charged up an ice fury to extinguish all of the fires.
Malefor tried to stop Spyro, but Cynder released a shadow blast to blind him temporarily. Once the fires were out, Malefor knew that the battle would not be taking place here.
"Have it your way. We will battle far away from any civilizations, but I will still prevent you from defeating me and then having your baby later. I see that bulge in your belly, Cynder.", he growled in annoyance.
"That settles it.", growled Spyro.
Everyone changed course and made for an area where no-one would see them.
In the clearing, Flurry and the two dragons began charging up their powers to take down Malefor. As Spyro and Cynder's scales began to glow and Flurry's mane burst into magical flames, Malefor just watched and laughed at what he thought was three soldiers preparing for a battle they would not win.
"HERE WE GO, FINAL BATTLE!", Cynder roared.
"NO MERCY THIS TIME!", Malefor growled back.
The fighters spread their wings and took off into the moonlit sky. Malefor let loose several elemental blasts, but Spyro and Cynder blocked them with their own abilities, and Flurry dodged the ones that flew at her. After several strikes on each other and numerous near-misses, which included Spyro and Cynder getting their horns chipped and Flurry getting her mane set on fire for real, the trio gained the upper hand. One of Cynder's wind fury attacks hit a spot on Malefor's chest where some of his scales were out of place and loosened them further. Spyro noticed this and flew in fast to strike with an earth blast.
Malefor attempted to hold him off with a fireball, but Flurry shot a blast of magic to counter it. Spyro squinted his eyes to aim better and released the earth blast, landing a perfect shot. The loosened scales broke off and dropped to the ground. Malefor became even angrier and prepared to fire a super-cooled ice bullet at Cynder's stomach, but Spyro was ready and he fired a superheated fireball to evaporate it. Seeing an opportunity, Cynder spewed a burst of poison at Malefor's wings to weaken them and she landed the hits precisely.
Malefor felt the burning from the poison and he started to fall. At that point, Flurry pushed her magic to the ABSOLUTE MAX! She fired a blast that shot from both her horn and her eyes at the same time, which blinded Malefor with the intensity of looking straight into the sun. With the spots impeding his vision, Malefor realized he was now struggling to land his attacks perfectly, but he still put his blood and sweat into winning the battle. Spyro and Cynder combined their power and created a fury attack that was part light, and part darkness, aiming it straight at the exposed spot on Malefor's chest, which just happened to be over the center of his heart. Malefor saw the beam coming and released his own beam of purple energy to stop it, but Flurry Heart swooped in and joined her power with Spyro and Cynder's to make it even stronger.
The resulting beam shattered Malefor's when the two hit each other and continued on its path until it hit Malefor square in the heart. Malefor screamed in AGONY as the beam burned through his veins and his vision began to go away. In just seconds, Malefor was reduced to ash before he hit the ground. The scales that were dislodged immediately turned to dust as well until nothing was left.
"WE DID IT!", Spyro cheered.
"THANK THE ELDERS!", whooped Cynder.
"Thank goodness.", said Flurry Heart as they all flew down to the ground and landed softly.
After finding a small cave nearby, they healed themselves with spirit gems and laid down for the rest of the night.
They returned to Canterlot the next morning to tell Luna and Celestia the news. To Flurry's surprise, Twilight was there as well.
"Did you succeed?", she asked her niece.
"He is no more.", said Spyro.
"You have saved our world.", said Luna.
As Cynder took a bow, she suddenly felt a strong contraction and collapsed in pain. Spyro quickly spawned several spirit gems and gave them to her to ease the pain, but Cynder was beginning to sweat.
"It's time.", she said between groans.
"Time for what?", asked Twilight.
"We've been expecting an egg for quite some time now.", said Spyro as the spirit gems dissolved into Cynder's skin and eased the pain slightly.
"Quickly, get close to me, I can take you to the Dragon Lands in a flash.", said Twilight as she lit her horn.
After teleporting to the Dragon Lands, Twilight quickly sent for Ember to help Cynder. After getting her into a comfortable position ten minutes later, Ember began telling Cynder when to push and when to rest. The process took up to two hours for Cynder to fully push her egg out, which was longer than she and Spyro had anticipated. Cynder was feeling both relief and intense soreness from pushing the egg out, but Spyro gave her spirit gems as she needed them. Ember came back after cleaning off the egg and she seemed to be struggling to carry it because Spyro saw that she had beads of sweat forming between her horns. What came as a shock to both him and Cynder was the egg's MASSIVE size. It was two feet long from end to end and had a side to side diameter of 18 inches. Its shell was a pretty black and purple marbled color.
"That's bigger than we thought.", Cynder exclaimed.
"You never know dear. Maybe we are having a very big hatchling.", said Spyro in an equally puzzled tone.
Ember went to get her scepter and used it to analyze the egg. What she saw in the crystal made her eyes light up in shock, but she quickly settled down.
"What is it?", asked Spyro eagerly.
"Twins.", said Ember with a smile.
"REALLY?", asked Cynder as she popped her head up.
"OH MY GOSH!", yelped Spyro.
"CONGRATULATIONS!!", cried Twilight.

Spyro and Cynder returned home to their realm later that day. Celestia and Luna wished them well in raising their upcoming children as they stepped through the portal and carried the egg with them.
"My goodness, your egg is HUGE.", said Terrador.
"Yes, a big one for sure.", said Cyril.
"What could this possibly mean?", asked Volteer.
"Welcome home, both of you. I see that you have laid your egg, and that it is very big.", said Ignitus as he entered the temple.
"Dragon Lord Ember said that we are having TWINS!", said Cynder.
"WOW!", said all four of the guardians.
The egg began to shake loudly one night after two weeks and awakened Spyro and Cynder. In the dim glow from the moonlight entering their cave, they watched as the egg shook harder and harder until it cracked and suddenly shattered, sending shards everywhere and releasing the two little hatchlings inside, a boy and a girl. After the little ones took their first breaths, Spyro and Cynder began nuzzling them. Their son had translucent black scales which had a purple hue when sunlight hit them, and they named him Shadowstar. Their daughter was named Moonflame and she had marbled scales with a pretty swirled pattern of purple and black. They grew up fast and quickly learned their breath powers, which they had inherited two of each from Spyro and Cynder.
Moonflame's powers consisted of white fire, strong wind gusts when she flapped her wings hard, a poison mist which would spread over a large distance at an astounding speed, and a strong blast of earth that would be shot at a speed similar to that of a sneeze. Shadowstar's breath powers consisted of a purple electricity that could electrify a lake with even the slightest amount of energy, a super-cooled ice vapor that would freeze its victims as if in a crystal similar to when Spyro had used a time fury to protect himself, Cynder, and Sparx after defeating Gaul, a shadow mist that could black out an area as big as the temple for over 30 minutes, and a fear-inducing cloud that could shift the slightest of dreams into terrible nightmares. Spyro and Cynder were proud of their children and they all lived happily for eternity now that Malefor was no longer a threat.
