Pegasus mare from the world of endless sky arrives in Equestria. She's not the only one, as Equestria is also visited by strange blocky creatures.
After years of travel between servers, Calm Sky of Cloud Town finally arrived at Equestria. This strangely non-blocky server is soon visited by blocky creatures never before seen there. Soon, weird things start to happen.
The ancient Castle of the Two Sisters, located in the middle of the haunted Everfree Forest, saw many feats of magic. On one sunny day, something never seen before happened.
The silence of the ruins was disrupted by loud noise coming seemingly out of nowhere. Suddenly, a frame made out of cubic, glowing rocks appeared in the courtyard. It was large, eight meters tall, and four meters wide. Inside of the frame there was a glowing, blue energy field.
From this energy field, a pegasus walked out. She had white coat, dark blue mane and light blue eyes. She was wearing armor made out of diamonds. Some kind of a golden totem was tied to her left foreleg. In her right foreleg, she held a dark blue cube. In her mouth, she held a glowing purple crystal.
She raised her right foreleg and looked at the device. After making sure there was no one here, she hid the cube and crystal into her saddlebag.
The pegasus flew upward, to get a better look at the castle. She had never seen such a building before.
“This is a very interesting resource pack,” she said aloud.
She flew even higher, to get a better look at the surrounding area. The spawn area of this server looked well-maintained, with only a slight amount of griefing. Render distance was very high, with little fog. Far away in the north, the mare saw a base at the side of the mountain. In the west, there seemed to be another castle, made out of crystals. After a short consideration, she decided to fly west.
The pegasus flew above the trees. She looked at the minimap on her device. She only saw passive mobs in the forest below.
After flying for some time, she saw a group of hostile mobs on her minimap. She decided to fly into the forest.
She landed on the ground, and took out the dark blue cube and the crystals. She turned into the direction of the group of mobs.
Suddenly, she heard howling. Then, she saw a strange creature charging towards her. It looked like a giant wolf made out of wood. The mare placed a cube on the ground, and it quickly expanded into a block. She hid behind it and waited. The wolf ran towards her.
Just as the creature was about to jump on her, she placed a crystal on the block, and quickly punched it. Large explosion turned the wolf into scattered sticks. The mare quickly turned, and placed another crystal. Another wolf ran towards her, only to meet an exploding crystal. The mare looked at the minimap. The rest of the mobs started running away.
“Ez,” she said, and hid the crystals in the saddlebag. She spread her wings and flew in the direction of the crystal castle.
After a while, she was able to see the base at the edge of the forest. It was a large town with colorful buildings. It did not look abandoned.
Indeed, just after she left the forest, she saw a small wooden house with other buildings surrounding it. According to the minimap, there were many animals there. Probably it was a farm. She landed next to it.
The doors of one of the buildings opened, and out of it another pegasus mare walked away. The armored mare was shocked. Real pegasus, after all this time. And very nice-looking as well.
The yellow pegasus saw the armored one. She screamed and quickly hid in her house. “Hey, wait!” the armored mare shouted. She knocked on the door. “I just arrived on this server, and I have a lot of questions.”
The yellow mare looked from behind the curtains. The armored mare saw her, and started quickly crouching up and down. Then she remembered she wasn’t dealing with a Blocker, but with another pegasus.
The yellow mare finally unlocked the door. “Sorry, you have scared me. How can I help you?”
“Are you a real pegasus?”
“Um… yes. Of course.”
“Tell me. This server… is this Equestria?”
“Yes. Ponyville to be exact.”
The armored mare jumped. “YES! YES! FINALLY! See, mayor, Equestria is real, and I’ve found it. Who’s going to be the town weirdo now! Ha!”
The yellow pegasus took a few steps back. Before she could hide, the armored pegasus walked towards her and touched her wing. “I can’t believe it. Real pegasus.”
“Nice to meet you. My name’s Fluttershy.”
The armored mare stopped. “Fluttershy? You’re Flutters?”
“Yes, I guess.”
“Does it mean Dashie is here?”
“She’s in the town…” “TAKE ME TO HER NOW! I mean, please?”
The two pegasi flew above the town. The armored mare looked at the ponies below. Other than pegasi, there were also different kinds. These with strange horns must have been unicorns she heard about.
“She’s there,” Fluttershy said and pointed to a cloud. Indeed, a blue coated mare with a rainbow mane was sitting there.
The armored mare stopped. She found her. Just like in the pixel art. Finally she found her. The armored mare looked at her cutie mark, a compass, and smiled. “I always find a way.”
The blue pegasus looked at the newcomer. “Cool armor. You’re new here?”
“Just arrived at the base. You’re Dashie?”
“I am Rainbow Dash, the fastest pegasus in all of Equestria!”
“By Jeb, I can’t believe it. I’ve spent years trying to find you. You have no idea what I’ve gone through.”
“You looked for me for years? Where are you from?”
“Cloud Town, in Endless Sky.”
“Never heard of it.”
“It’s on a different server. I am your greatest fan.”
“See, Fluttershy. I have fans in different worlds! What’s your name, by the way?”
“I am Calm Sky, the Backdoor Horse, the Vanquisher of Nerds and the best pegasi Crystal PvPer in all worlds!”
“You’re a warrior that fights with crystals? That’s cool!”
“You said you are a fast flier. Wanna race?”
“See that apple farm over there. There and then to the town hall.”
Twilight Sparkle walked into her reading room. Ancient scrolls and books lie on the table, along with many notes. Twilight was carrying a teapot and a cup. Today, she hoped for a nice and relaxing day of researching arcane theory.
However, as it was common in Ponyville, something unexpected happened and she had to change her plans.
Just as Twilight was about to dive into research, there was a knock on the door.
“Come in.”
The door opened and Fluttershy walked in. “Hi Twilight. I hope I didn’t disrupt.”
“Of course not. What brings you here?”
“Rainbow Dash found a new friend, Calm Sky. She claims she’s from a different world. I thought you might want to meet her.”
“Different world, you say. Interesting indeed. Let’s go meet her.”
Twilight and Fluttershy walked out of the castle. They didn’t need to walk far. Rainbow Dash was next to the Sugarcube Corner. Rest of their friends were here as well, and were talking to a pegasus mare.
“I don’t usually work with armor. but I need to say that I like this design. Tell me, where did you get it from?” asked Rarity.
“You can find diamond horse armor in a nether fortress,” replied Calm Sky.
“Hiya Twilight! Dashie found a new friend!” shouted Pinkie.
The white pegasus looked at Twilight. Her eyes widened, and she quickly took out obsidian and crystals.
“You’re an alicorn!” shouted Calm Sky.
“Yes. I am Princess Twilight Sparkle, and I wish to welcome you to Ponyvile.”
Calm Sky still looked at Twilight with suspicion.
“Don’t worry, Calmie. Twilight is the friendliest mare in this town. She will become your friend in no time,” said Pinkie.
“I heard you come from a different world?” asked Twilight.
“Yes. I am from Cloud Town, in Endless Sky.”
“Interesting. Have you met an alicorn before?”
“Um… no. I’ve never met one. You’re the first alicorn I’ve met.”
“You know what would be a great way to get to know each other better? A party!” shouted Pinkie.
“I’m in,” said Rainbow Dash.
“This is a great idea,” said Twilight. She made a mental note to get to know Calm Sky better, as well as to ask Celestia about Endless Sky.
This evening, in the middle of Everfree forest, there was another unexpected visitor.
The portal on the castle’s courtyard emitted a loud sound, and then a creature never before seen in Equestria walked out.
The creature was bipedal and taller than a pony. It was made out of blocks. It seemed to be wearing armor, but a good eye would notice it was actually an imprint on its body. Similarly, the wings on its back were also either decoration or camouflage.
On its right arm, the creature had a device identical to the one worn by Calm Sky. Above the device, there was an imprint looking like a white-red armband.
Soon after this creature entered, another blocky creature followed. It also had a device and an armband on its right forearm. This creature wore clothes similar to the ones used by scholars of Canterlot’s universities.
The armored creature looked at the ruins of the castle. Then, it walked to a tree, and started punching it. Suddenly, exactly one meter of the tree disappeared, with the rest floating in the air.
The two creatures started walking west, towards Ponyville.
The next morning, Calm Sky walked through the town. She still couldn’t believe her luck.
“Psst…” she heard someone. She looked around, but there was nopony there.
“Over here,” somepony said from behind a bush. Calm Sky walked towards it.
From behind the bush, a pegasus filly with a curly mane walked out. “You’re the new pony in town, right?”
“Well, yes.”
“I heard that you said you are the Backdoor Horse, and that you took over a server once. I also heard that you have something against alicorns.”
Calm Sky looked at the filly with suspicion. “And you are?”
“Cozy Glow. I have a proposition that I know you will be interested in.
Ponyville was used to visits from strange creatures. Yet, each time something unexpected happened, it still drew attention.
This day, two strange angular creatures walked on the road. They looked around the town. Eventually, they stopped, and the armored one started speaking.
“Good day, or good night, depending on where and when you watch me. I am Thicc Hussar and this is the first episode of Minecraft,” he stopped for a dramatic inhale. “MINECRAFT! Hussar, why do you play Minecraft! This is a game for little kids! Go play some game for intellectuals. Make another series where you remove muscovites in Europa Universalis. You are turning into yet another boring popular youtuber. If you do not play the games I want you to play, you will be over. You heard that, YOU WILL BE OVER!” he shouted. Large group of ponies was looking at him with confusion.
Hussar continued “That is how I’ve imagined the reaction of a typical Hussar viewer once I upload this video. I was just thinking that playing Europa Universalis all the time might be a bit boring, so I’ve decided to play a different game for once. Don’t worry, EU4 will be back after I finish this series. So, next to me is Calvim.”
“Hello.”
“I have found an interesting server: mc.equestria.eqs. It is a heavily modded server, and looks interesting…”
Hussar continued talking to a nonexistent audience. Group of ponies watched him. Pinkie Pie noticed something interesting happening, and walked towards the group. She saw the two blocky creatures and smiled.
“Hello. I am Pinkie Pie. Welcome to Ponyville!”
“It seems that the locals here noticed us. Maybe there are some viewers that already play on this server?”
“I have no idea what you are talking about, but I hope we will become friends!” said Pinkie and grabbed the two creatures in a hug. “Are you made out of metal?”
At that moment, Calvim took out a stone sword. He hit Pinkie. She started glowing red.
“Ouch. Wha…” she didn’t finish, as Calvim hit her again, and she turned into dust. Shocked, ponies started running away.
Then, somepony screamed. “TWILIGHT!”
Twilight Sparkle was in the castle’s library, trying to find anything about the Endless Sky.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Pinkie ran into the library. “Twilight, I had a very weird dream. There were these blocky creatures…”
Then, a guard ran into the library as well. “Princess, Ponyville is under attack! We… wait, Pinkie? I saw you getting killed!”
“Killed? No, I’ve dreamed about blocky creatures, then I woke up in my bed.”
“We need to…” started Twilight. Then, she heard an explosion. Before her eyes, she saw text.

Twilight attempted to touch the letters. “Do you see this?” she asked.
“Yes, that’s weird,” said Pinkie.
“We need to find Calm Sky and get to Canterlot as fast as we can. Something very strange and possibly dangerous is happening.”
Next night in the Everfree Forest was far from quiet.
The portal started emitting sounds again, and another blocky creature walked out. Then another one, then another. Dozens, hundreds of creatures started walking out of the portal. All of them had white-red armbands. They started cutting down trees and damaging the castle. Large group started running straight for Ponyville.
The train ride to Canterlot was quite pleasant. Twilight asked Calm Sky some questions, but didn’t get closer to a solution.
This situation was very strange, and she worried that it might spiral out of control. On the other hoof, stranger things happened here.
Eventually, Twilight and her friends found themselves in Canterlot. Not wasting any time, they got to the palace.
Twilight hoped to find Celestia quickly. Lucky for her, Celestia was in the throne room. The moment the group of mares entered the room, Celestia greeted them with a smile. “Hello, Twilight. I’ve got your letter. I’ve searched the archives and I think I found out where Endless Sky is located.”
Twilight looked at Celesia and noticed something off about her. “Princess, what is this thing floating above your head?”
Above Celestia’s head, there was golden writing. [OWNER] Celestia.
“I don’t understand what you mean.”
“What are you the owner of?”
“The server, of course. You may toggle showing off the tags off in the menu if you find them immersion breaking.”
Twilight blinked in confusion. She turned to her friends. They all had colorful writing above their heads, with the title of [HELPER]. Only Calm Sky didn’t have any title, just a plain white text with her name.
Twilight ran towards a mirror. Above her head, there was purple text [MODERATOR] TwilightSparkle.
“What is this? This must be somehow connected to these strange blocky creatures,” Twilight said aloud.
Calm Sky walked towards Celestia. “So, you said you found something about Endless Sky?”
“Indeed. Many years ago, a group of pegasi requested to move to the sky. I’ve decided to help them, and I created an area far in the millions with no blocks, perfect for skyblock-like experience. There was not much news from that base, and I forgot about it. I thought they had quit.”
“Can you get us there?” asked Calm Sky.
“Yes, I can.”
Twilight turned to Celestia. “I also would like to visit this place.”
Twilight found herself in a strange place. She spread her wings and floated. The clouds looked like blocks, the sun was a square and there was no ground. Twilight flew towards Celestia and Calm Sky.
“Cloud Town’s that way,” Calm Sky said.
Twilight flew along her. Soon, a town was visible. It looked like a small Cloudsdale, although the architecture style was quite old. Twilight saw many pegasi flying around it.
Celestia, Calm Sky and Twilight Sparkle landed on a cloud. The local pegasi were greatly surprised.
“May I speak with the town leader?” said Celestia.
After a short while, Twilight saw a group of pegasi flying towards them. Two of them, older stallion and a young mare, flew with great speed towards Calm Sky. They landed next to her and got her into a hug.
“Calm Sky! It’s really you! Where have you been all these years?” asked the stallion.
“Never disappear like this again!” shouted the mare.
Twilight wasn’t able to follow the rest of the conversation, as the main group of pegasi arrived. One stallion walked towards Celestia.
“I am mayor of Cloud Town. Who are you and why have you come to my city?”
“I am Owner Celestia. I just wanted to get a look at your base.”
The mayor was confused. “Do you know Dashie?”
“Yes. She’s a loyal helper.”
“So Calm Sky was right…”
“You have lived in isolation for quite some time. If you want to move your base, I can do this.”
“Well, I wish we had contact with other towns.”
“Let’s do it then,” said Celestia and flew upward. Twilight followed her.
Twilight paid close attention to what Celestia was doing. She still didn’t understand this? Was it some kind of a test? Maybe a curse? She would have to dig deeper.
Celestia flew to the edge of the town. She materialized a wooden axe, and swung it in the air. Then, she quickly flew to the opposite corner of the town. She slashed the air again. She charged her horn. Suddenly, Twilight found herself above a lake in Equestria. She also noticed she was transparent. After some adjustments, Celestia swung her wooden axe one last time, and the town and its inhabitants returned to normal colors.
What was that? Who is this mare? What are those letters?
Twilight noticed white text quickly filling up her view. She tried to follow it, but it moved too quickly. How do I close it? she thought.
Suddenly, before Twilight’s eyes, some kind of a menu materialized. She was quite surprised. She noticed a cursor, and noticed she could move it with her mind. She found the options, and turned off chat messages. She exited the menu. She noticed that in the bottom of her view, there were now nine empty boxes.
Twilight looked at Celestia. The alicorn flew above the town.
Just below the square sun.
This is getting more and more ridiculous. I bet that’s Discord’s fault, Twilight thought.
“I don’t have anything to do with this. At least not directly.”
Twilight turned around. [DONATOR] Discord was floating next to her.
“Are you sure of it?” she asked.
“This is quite a long and complicated story, but you are the smart one here, you will solve this,” said Discord.
“What kind of magic caused this?”
“Um… an alien magic, you can say. But let’s focus on what is happening now. I think you should turn the private messages on.”
Twilight looked back at the menu and changed the settings. Soon, she was able to see pink letters.
[HELPER] Applejack: Twilight, can you come to Ponyville? [HELPER] Applejack: I see you are online. [HELPER] Applejack: We are moving the stash. These newfriends from Hussar found us.
Twilight flashed her horn and quickly teleported to Ponyville.
Calm Sky walked through the gardens of Canterlot palace. She wondered why anyone would build a base so close to spawn.
“Psst…” one of the bushes said. Calm Sky walked to it.
“You’re ready?” asked Cozy Glow.
“Sure. I just wonder, why are you doing this?”
“I don’t know, I haven’t bothered to watch past the first half of season 3. Now, are we going to overthrow Celestia or not?”
“Having a horn would be nice. Let’s do it then.”
Calm Sky and Cozy Glow started to walk towards the castle. Suddenly, an invisible force grabbed them by the ears.
“Now what do we have here?” Discord said.
“Discord, you old liar, let me go!” Calm Sky shouted.
“This will be Celestia’s decision,” Discord said with a smile and teleported away.
Twilight opened the door to the throne room. Her mane was a mess, she had bags under her eyes, and she didn’t bother to get the coffee out of her coat.
“Hello, Twilight. You had a bad night?” asked Celestia.
“I had to teleport boxes with supplies from Ponyville because some Blockers decided to pour lava all over the town. Then I’ve tried to find something in the castle library to get this fixed.”
“Well, I told you you shouldn’t have built your base so close to spawn. I hope you have a backup.”
Twilight looked at her mentor with anger. “You never told me that! Do you really not notice something very strange is happening to Equestria!”
“Calm down, Twilight.”
“THE SUN IS A SQUARE!”
“You may install a texture pack if you dislike it for some reason.”
Twilight screamed in frustration.
“Twilight, I think you need to take a break from larping,” Cadence said.
“Cadance? What are you doing here?”
“We are going to vote on banning some troublemakers, don’t you remember?”
“Yeah, the guards said something when they entered the library.”
“Indeed, Twilight. Take a seat and calm down,” said Celestia.
The five alicorns sat in their places. Soon, Discord entered the room, with two mares bound in his magic.
“Calm Sky, Cozy Glow, you are charged with attempting to destabilize the server by attempting to get backdoor access. What is your defense?” said Celestia.
Calm Sky didn’t respond. Rather, she looked at Flurry Heart.
“You…”
Flurry Heart giggled and showed Calm Sky her tongue.
“YOU!” Calm Sky shouted. Discord had to strengthen the magical bonds. He smiled at the alicorn filly.
“You’re not going to punish a cute little filly, would you?” asked Cozy Glow.
“I consider you guilty!” said Celestia.
“Guilty!” said Luna and Cadance.
Flurry Heart laughed again and nodded her head.
“Um… guilty, I guess?” said Twilight
“For your crimes, you are therebly banned from Equestria, forever!” Celestia said. She materialized a large sledgehammer and started walking towards the two pegasi.
“You can’t do this!” shouted Cozy Glow.
“I am the owner, and I do what I want!” said Celestia. She swung her hammer and hit the two pegasi. Twilight looked at the two pony-shaped holes in the wall.
“Did you… kill them?” asked Twilight.
“Worse.”
“Send them straight to Tartarus?”
“Worse. Much worse.”
Calm Sky was lying on the grass. Her head hurt. I guess that was a bad idea, she thought.
She opened her eyes. She noticed a strange blue unicorn standing above her and grinning. On her horn, there was a tennis ball.
“Hello newfriend!” shouted the unicorn.
Anguished screams filled the woods.
Twilight Sparkle opened her eyes. She was in the bed of her old room in the Canterlot Castle. She must have collapsed from exhaustion somewhere after the trial.
She got up from the bed and walked towards the chest. She opened it. In this chest, there were a few items…
Twilight stopped. She walked to the mirror. In the mirror, she saw a blocky, bipedal creature. While this creature had the correct color scheme, it certainly wasn’t a pony. Twilight looked around her room. Everything was blocky.
“What the hay happened here?”
She exited the room and was going to find Celestia. However, another blocky creature crossed her part. If not for the nametag, she would have not recognized him.
“Discord, what happened here?”
“The funny thing is… not much happened. Not the first time a youtuber invasion hit the server, not the last time. Give it a few weeks, and the situation will come back to normal.”
“I’m… talking about the blocks. I am made out of blocks. You too. Don’t you notice this?”
“Well, how do I tell you without you getting angry… I know about the blocks. The world did not turn blocky. That’s because the world was always made out of blocks, and you always were a Blocker.”
“What? Just yesterday I was a pony!”
“You roleplayed as a pony yesterday. However, the invasion changed the plans, and now the players will have to defend the server. You can roleplay as a crusader now!”
“Roleplay? What? You tell me I’ve imagined being Twilight Sparkle?”
“No… or actually yes… kind of? Have you heard about the Temporal Constants?”
“No, what’s that?”
“There are the patterns that repeat across the universe and across the cycles. For example, have you heard about that noble king who took a sword out of the stone?”
“Yes, the first king of Griffonstone. So what?”
“There are thousands of creatures all across the universe who took a sword out of a stone and became noble rulers. That is because this is a pattern. Similarly, there is a pattern of a smart book horse.”
“Smart book horse? You’re telling me there are thousands of Twilight Sparkles running around somewhere?”
“Actually, right now, there are only two. You, and one alicorn pony, three hundred sixty eight dimensions away. She’s not called Twilight Sparkle anymore, but she is as smart as you.”
“Are there more Discords around?”
“No, I am unique. The only Discord all across space and time.”
“You are aware of how ridiculous it sounds, right?”
“Yes, but that’s how it is.”
“Let’s say I believe you. Can you get me to the other Twilight?”
“I hoped you would ask. Follow me.”
Discord built a square frame of five meters height, made out of obsidian. Inside, he placed eight mossy cobblestone blocks. In the center, he placed a diamond block. Once he placed that block, the nine blocs disappeared and were replaced by blue glowing energy. Discord entered the portal. Twilight walked behind him.
Twilight found herself next to a mountain. Below the mountain, there was a large wheat farm. On the slopes of the mountain, bamboo and strange purple plants were growing.
There was also an obsidian platform with a waterfall going from it to the lake below. “The portal is here,” said Discord and started swimming up this waterfall. Twilight followed him.
On top of the platform, there was a dog with purple ribbon. Twilight looked at its nametag. “Spike?”
On the platform, there was a small stone building. Discord opened the doors. Then he went back and placed a black chest on the ground. “Twilight, come here.”
Discord took out many colorful boxes out of this chest. He gave them to Twilight.
“Gear up. I’m not sure what you will find behind the portal, and the road is quite long.”
“Can’t you just teleport me there?”
“Can I? Maybe. Would I? No.”
“Thanks for help, really,” Twilight said and put on the armor. This might have been a very bad idea, but if there was anyone who might have helped her, it was the other Twilight.
Twilight walked into the stone building. Inside, there was a portal with a rainbow forcefield.
Twilight looked behind the window, on a blocky world that wasn’t similar to Equestria at all.
