Rainbow and Fluttershy are stranded out in a storm.

Rainbow Dash takes Fluttershy out for a little practice in flight techniques, but when the Ponyville weather patrol doesn't follow Rainbow's set orders for the days weather, the two pegasai are stranded too far from home to make their way back to safety.

I held in a growl watching Fluttershy panic in fear as she tried another loop. That pegasus is such a scaredy pony. It had been just about the same thing for the past hour or so. I'd demonstrate the trick Fluttershy would try, she'd panic, fall down, and whimper how sorry she was for failing. Shes a pony that you can't seem to stay mad at, but she could be really aggravating at times, though.

Seriously though, I shouldn't be complaining. I was the one that had taken a day off weather duty to spend some time with Fluttershy and teach her a trick or two. But all she seemed to learn so far was a half loop, and how to fall without breaking anything.

Fluttershy sat on the ground, shaking her mane to cover her face. She was obviously embarrassed.

"Its okay, Fluttershy. You put in a…great effort. It just takes practice." I had to hold back a choke at great effort. Fluttershy moved her mane out of her face and looked at me with the saddest face of the afternoon, by far.

"Thanks…but, I'm just not as good a flier as you, Rainbow Dash." I agreed with her entirely but, this wasn't the time to agree with her insulting herself.

"Fluttershy don't say that. I know your not a strong a flier as me. To be honest, there isn't anyone as good as me! You really did put in a great effort and like I said before…it just takes time and practice."

I thought I made my point and let out a big smile. Fluttershy didn't seem to smile, though. I waited for her to say something back but she just sat on the ground looking at the dirt. Then she finally looked up at me but, her eyes were filled with tears, and she was about to start crying.

"I…I can't, Rainbow Dash! I'll just fail and make myself look like a…bad excuse for a pegasus. A pegasus who can't even do a single loop without cowering and falling."

Fluttershy got up from the ground and unfurled her wings, that seemed to tremble as she began to cry. I moved toward her and put a forearm on her shoulder. She looked at me… and it was unbearable. I could never take it when Fluttershy cried. It just tore me apart. Its not like I have feelings for her, its just that…shes my filly hood friend and well... I don't know where I'd be without her. Don't think I'm the sappy type, cause I'm not. It just with, Fluttershy… its different.

She was now crying on my shoulder, I hardly even noticed. My shoulder was now stained with her tears from her lovely cyan eyes. Wait, what did I just say!? Did I just say her lovely cyan eyes? Well, they are pretty nice…but I just like her eyes, thats it. Sheesh that, Fluttershy. Shes practically my soft spot.

Fluttershy continued crying on my shoulder as I still dwindled on how I was feeling at the time and I decided I should say something before Fluttershy flew off, and hid in her home. I cleared my throat and prepared to speak…

"Sorry, Rainbow Dash…I'm just going to go home now. I didn't mean to um, cry on your shoulder." Well there goes speaking first.

"Fluttershy, its cool. And didn't you hear what I said? You just need to put more practice and time and soon you'll nail that loop!" Fluttershy lowered her head, and sighed. "It's hopeless, Dash. Maybe…some other day we can try again. But... I think it would be best if I go home for now." That's a pretty valid deal.

I sighed. "Alright, Fluttershy. I'll fly you back to your cabin." Fluttershy nodded and unfurled her wings again and became air born.

I flew beside Fluttershy and tried to adjust to the weather. I looked up at the sky, it was a little grey and I felt a strong breeze pushing me. There wasn't supposed to be a storm today…Fluttershy seemed to be having difficulty with staying in the air as well.

"Come on, Fluttershy. We should get back before this storm picks up."

Fluttershy looked scared, of course. This wasn't the time to be scared, we had to get home like…right away. I've worked with weather long enough to know when its time to get indoors. And this was a storm, you'd want to be indoors for. I gave Fluttershy a little nudge and with a little bit of hesitation, she began flying as I trailed behind her toward her home.

The breeze was definitely picking up, and fast. I began to get a tiny bit nervous about flying in the condition the weather was in. It was becoming really hard to fly and trees below were swaying furiously. It was going to get a little…hazardous.

Fluttershy had been slowing down, and loosing strength. She was a few meters behind me, struggling in the harsh weather. Her mane was blowing in all which ways and her eyes were closed, shielding them from the dirt and twigs that were now in the air. I flew toward her and brushed up against her side. She was freezing.

At that time all I could think of was going back to the ground and taking shelter. Considering we were a long ways from Fluttershy's cabin. I moved closer to Fluttershy's ear to tell her, cause I knew she wouldn't have been able to hear me… but then things went a little.... unexpected.

A huge gust of wing pushed me forward, making both me and Fluttershy's heads to bang together. I growled and I heard Fluttershy make a small cry of pain. My vision blurred for a second, but came back. I looked forward to make sure Fluttershy was alright but she wasn't there. I began to panic, scared that she had been caught in the wind and was swept away.

"Rainbow Dash! Where are you!?" I looked in all directions looking for Fluttershy.

"I'm over here! Keep yelling, and I'll find you!" I called back, hoping for the best.

"Rainbow Dash I'm on the ground just below you! Fly down!"

I wasn't going to ignore her, so I began to dive down toward the ground, keeping my eyes open for her. Soon, I saw the ground and landed a little roughly. The wind was really picking up and now…it began to rain. My mane and coat were drenched, and now Iwas cold. Great. I hate being cold.

"Rainbow Dash, I see you!" I turned my head in the direction of her voice, but couldn't see anything.

"Where are you!?" This was beginning to get a little annoying, I always hated hide and seek.

"I see you facing me! Just…walk the way your facing!"

The rain began to fall harder as I turned my body the direction I was facing and galloped forward. In no time I saw Fluttershy laying under a tree. I hesitated a few meters before stopping. That tree was swaying back and forth, really…dangerously. I don't think Fluttershy noticed it but, it looked like it was about to come out of the ground.

I heard a loud rumble come from the sky. I looked up and saw huge black clouds that didn't seem to be moving. My stomach churned and I turned my head to look back at the tree.

"Rainbow Dash, I'm over here!"

My eyes were set on the tree. It was really starting to scare me. There had to be a better option for shelter, other then that tree. I looked around to find a cave or something. It was really hard to see but, I caught a glimpse of what seemed to be a small cave. What luck! I heard another roar and instantly I looked over to the tree where Fluttershy was. The tree was on fire.

I galloped as hard as I could to try and save Fluttershy. "Fluttershy, get out of there!" Fluttershy had noticed the fire and it was probably shock that was keeping her laying there like an idiot.

I found myself under the tree beside Fluttershy. The heat from the fire warmed my coat as I chomped onto her tail and began pulling her out of the way. The tree was going to collapse in any second, and then…it fell over.

The fire had died down, probably due to the huge amount of rain. The tree had trapped Fluttershy's back leg under a fairly big branch though.

"Rainbow Dash, my leg is stuck!" Fluttershy pointed out the obvious. I could clearly see that, like sheesh. "Hold on, 'Shy. I'll try to get it off."

"Al-Alright."

I got up from under the rumble but when I put pressure on my front leg I felt pain. It couldn't be too bad, so I just ignored it. The only think on my mind was getting, Fluttershy out from under the branch and taking her to shelter, and waiting for this storm to pass.

Without hesitation I started to try and push the branch off of her leg. It was pretty heavy, but soon it was off her.

"Fluttershy follow me. I saw a small cave that we can take shelter in till this storm passes. Come on!"

Fluttershy nodded and followed me with a limp toward to the cave. We went as fast as we could, since both of us were injured. At least me and her didn't have anything serious. Soon we arrived and I slumped onto the cold ground of the cave.

I took a better look at my leg, and the rest of my body. I was covered with bruises and my leg had a small burn mark. It didn't look too bad, but it could use some cleaning. I looked over to Fluttershy to check her over. She didn't look half bad, other then her leg. There were bruises here and there, but overall she was alright.

"Are you okay, Rainbow?" Fluttershy whispered to me. She was probably tired…I was pretty tired at least.

"I'm fine. How about you…are you alright?"

"Well, I think I'll live at least." I nodded with a grin.

Fluttershy looked down at my leg and made a small, 'eep'. "Rainbow, is you leg okay? That looks…pretty bad."

"I said, I'm fine. Don't worry about me." She didn't have to be worry about me, I can take care of myself.

"Well, um…you should probably clean it. It might get, affected." Fluttershy mumbled under her breath, but I caught it.

"You don't have to act like I'm a little filly. I'm well capable of cleaning it myself, if it needs to. And its fine."

Fluttershys expression changed from worried, to a little angry. "Rainbow, your bleeding and you've been in dirt and you don't want to clean it?" Someones getting a little assertive now…but shes right, I guess.

"You make a good point, Fluttershy. I'm just not in the mood to bathing my self right now, okay?" Not to mention the fact that my weather patrol didn't do what I told them. Instead, they did something completely opposite. Stupid foals.

"Not in the mood?" Fluttershy was questioning me now? What is this world coming to?

"Yeah, I'm a little aggravated at the time being so... I'm not in the mood. I'll clean it later. Is that cool?" Okay, that sounded a little harsh.

Fluttershy hung her head and nodded. "Oh, okay. I'm going to clean my bruises though."

"Alright, you do that." For some reason I felt like blaming Fluttershy for being caught in this storm. But then its kind of my fault. If I hadn't brought us out in the open to fly, we would be home and I would've been at work, and it would've been a nice day. I guess thats what you get when you put Cloud Kicker and Ditzy Doo in charge.

I watched Fluttershy clean her wounds with her tongue. I presumed she was right. The burn could get infected, but I really hate cleaning my self with my tongue. Its so gross. Fluttershy caught me looking at her and made a small frown. I sighed and looked at my leg. Wouldn't want it to get infected, would we?

My tongue touched my burned flesh and fur, all I felt was searing pain and the taste of blood. I needed to clean it, but the pain was unbearable. I felt a tear roll down my cheek as I continued lapping on my burn. I couldn't stop them from coming out. It hurt so much!

Pulling my tongue back into my mouth, I squinted my eyes as my leg continued to burn. My head flew back as the pain continued. I looked over to Fluttershy. Who was now sitting next to me already cleaned partially.

"Rainbow… do you um, want me to clean your wound for you? It'll be less painful, and less bitter." I didn't really know what to say to that. She did kind of owe me for saving her flank, but…she's my friend. Why would she have to owe me for saving her? "I do…kind of um, owe you for saving me, and all." Oh, okay if she puts it like that.

"Alright, just stay away from my hooves. Alright?" I hate it when other ponies touch my hooves, so all she get's is a warning and if she goes even a inch near my hoof…bath time is over.

"Oh, of course. I'll make it as fast as I can." Fluttershy assured.

I looked over at her as Fluttershy moved her head toward my burn and I waited for the pain express to leave the station. I felt something wet come in contact with my leg, but it didn't hurt…as much as it did before at least. It actually felt, nice. Other then the small amount of pain, I was enjoying it. My eyes closed and I took a deep breath and let Fluttershy continue her work.

Outside, I could hear the roaring of thunder and the rain still down pouring onto the top of the cave. I always loved the sounds the storms came with. They were peaceful. I usually prefer to be out flying, facing the dangers but…every once and a while, its nice to just relax.

"I'm finished, Rainbow." Fluttershy interrupted my relaxation, peace, and sensation.

"Oh thanks Fluttershy." What else could I say? I could probably say that it felt good, but that might be a little weird to say.

"Rainbow…I just wanted to say, I'm sorry. We wouldn't be in this cave if it wasn't for me."

Wait, what? Shes blaming herself for something I did? Why would she think this is her fault?

"Fluttershy, what are you talking about? This is my fault."

Fluttershy shook her head slowly. "No…if I hadn't accepted your invitation and I wasn't such a terrible flier, we wouldn't be here."

"What! No, Fluttershy! This is my fault. I asked you to come and fly with me, I left my weather duties and this storm conjured up cause of my idiotic weather patrol. Don't say this is your fault, cause it isn't true."

"Exactly…If I wasn't such a bad flier, you wouldn't have wanted to help me get better at flying."

Oh come on. "I didn't say that, Flutters-"

"But, that's what you meant." Fluttershy interrupted me, leaving me speechless. Even though I knew that it wasn't true. I was more shocked at how she was behaving.

"Fluttershy, I just wanted to teach you some tricks in flying. I didn't invite you to fly with me, because I thought you were a bad flier! This isn't your fault, just let it go. Alright?"

Fluttershy's head lowered as I finished. I must've made her upset. "Look, don't be sad alright? Just know this isn't your fault."

"I'm not…upset. Well, maybe a little. I'm just tired Dash." Fluttershy began to lay down beside me. Leaving some space between us.

"Oh, alright. You go ahead and sleep, I'm not tired yet."

"Night, Rainbow." I looked at her and made a small smile. "Night."

I watched her rest her head on the ground and her tail wrap around her. She reminded me of a cat, minus the whiskers. At least she would be able to sleep off some stuff. I looked out the entrance of the cave, it was darker then before…it was definitely night time by now. It was still raining pretty hard and thunder roared occasionally with a few flashes of lightning every few minutes or so.

Fluttershy had already fallen asleep and I began to feel a little tired, more then I realized before. I looked over to Fluttershy to make sure she had done a good job of cleaning. She had done a decent job, but who am I to talk? Shes the one who cleaned my wound but maybe I could make it up to her somehow. I noticed a cut on the back of her right ear. It didn't look too bad, but she must've missed it.

I moved my muzzle closer to her ear and pressed my tongue gently on Fluttershy's ear. She didn't move, so I began to lick the cut clean. It tasted bitter but she took in more blood on her tongue then me. After a few minutes, I stopped and it looked pretty clean. A job well done I'd say.

I looked down at Fluttershy and nuzzled her cheek. I don't know why, I just felt like it was the right thing to do. Fluttershy began to shuffle around, and then…she brushed up against my side. I didn't know what to do. Instead of doing anything, a yawn came out and I stretched cautiously.

I got into a somewhat comfortable position to sleep in, without moving too much so I wouldn't wake up Fluttershy and rested my head on my hooves in front of me. After a while, I just couldn't seem to get comfortable. I tried different positions but I was still uncomfortable. Then a thought came across my mind. I looked at Fluttershy and cautiously; I put my forearm over her shoulders and spread out my wings to cover me, and her. Thats when I felt comfortable.

Fluttershy shuffled one more time, and was now right up against me. I rested my head lightly on top of hers, and fell asleep.

I shivered as a cold gust of wind swept over me, pulling me out of my slumber. I blinked my eyes a few times and let out a quiet yawn. I was still tired but, I was really comfortable. Fluttershy and I were still cuddled up with each other, but she was still sleeping. I wiped my eyes with my free hoof and took a look over to Fluttershy to make sure she was alright.

Fluttershy seemed fine. She felt a little cold but, she was fine. I must've shielded her from the wind from the night. Thank, Celestia for that. I would hate for Fluttershy to get sick and not only because of that, but because it would make the trip back home more a pain as its already going to be. My leg was still feeling soar and so was the rest of my body. That tree really took its toll on me, and Fluttershy too.

My chin was still buried inside her mane, my foreleg still holding her and, my wing was still covering her and a little bit of myself. The position we were in was a great source of warmth, but it was going to be a little hard to explain when she woke up. That was the only problem now…was explaining to her how we got into this position. My tail was somewhat in twined with her's but I didn't bother trying to move it. If I did , it would wake up Fluttershy and I would prefer she woke up on her own. Not because I was getting uncomfortable, that was impossible.

I peered outside the entrance of the cave. The sky had cleared up. Good…they actually did something right, for once. I felt like getting up and going out for a quick fly, but if I moved it would wake up Fluttershy. But…maybe if I got up quietly, I could get out for a while before she wakes up and, if I succeed…I wouldn't have to explain what happened the previous night and how we got into this.

Fluttershy was breathing slowly and was in a deep sleep. I could always tell if she was sleeping deeply, or lightly. We've known each other so well and for so long, that I've come to be able to figure these things out.

First things first; get your tail untwined with hers. Okay…That should be easy. I slowly moved my tail away from hers and soon it was untwined. That was easy! Okay, next up the wing. Again, I slowly began to lift my wing off her back. Fluttershy began to stir a little and my heart skipped a beat but luckily, she calmed down and my wing was off. Okay that was close…now my chin and leg. Starting with my chin, I lifted it up slowly and after my chin left contact with her mane, I took my foreleg off her and with that, I was free.

Now that I was free, I could go out and get warmed up for the trip back home. I got up from the cave floor and peered down at Fluttershy. She was sleeping soundlessly, which was good. She needed the rest, cause it was going to be a hard trip home.

~~~~~~
I wiped the sweat off my forehead and continued my way through the entrance of the cave. I saw Fluttershy sitting up looking at me worriedly, she must've of gotten worried about me for being out for so long and, for leaving her without telling her.
"Morning Fluttershy. Did you sleep alright?" She looked at me and made a small smile, "Yes. Did you have a good sleep?" I nodded back at her, surprised she didn't ask me about where I was. She probably already presumed I went for a fly. Since I do just that every morning. Since she didn't seem to be interested in how my flight had gone, I guessed I should ask her when she wanted to leave.
"So…When do you want to start heading back to, Ponyville?" Fluttershy stood up from the cave floor and made her way toward me. "We can leave now…if thats alright with you, of course."
"Are you sure? Cause it's going to be a hard trip back. Since we're both hurt…and stuff."
"I'll be alright Rainbow. I just hurt my leg, I'll be able to fly. Should we…get going?" I looked at Fluttershy and couldn't help but let a smile creep onto my face. "Yeah, lets head out."
Fluttershy nodded and began to make her way out of the cave, as I followed her not too far behind. I watched her kick off the ground as I did the same, and we started our flight back to Ponyville.
~~~~~~

We landed in front Fluttershy's cabin, and she landed lightly on the ground beside me. It hadn't been as hard a flight I expected it to be. There wasn't much struggle, but a little over half way back, Fluttershy had gotten tired and I had to help her fly the rest. I was still pretty weak, so she just flew close to me for support and I lead her the rest of the way. It made me pretty tired though.

Fluttershy looked up at her cabin and looked worried. She had told me that she was really worried about her animal friends; Since she was there for a day, they had to spend a day without food. I told her that they were probably fine, but she couldn't help but be worried. It's practically what Fluttershy does. Be worried, all the time.

I nudged Fluttershy gently on the shoulder. "I'll catch ya later, 'Shy. I have a few ponies that I need to have a little chat with."

"Oh…do you mean Cloud Kicker and Ditzy?" I smirked and chuckled. "Yeah…they need to be taught a lesson on what they get for not doing what their told."

Fluttershy's eyes bulged. "Your not going to hurt them, are you?" I laughed and shook my head. "No, well maybe. They did ruin a pretty good day." Fluttershy knew I could get pretty angry, which was why she was being cautious of the safety of those numskulls.

"Yes, they did…but I'm sure they didn't mean too." Fluttershy always thought it wasn't anyone's fault. But she was sweet like that. "Who knows. I'll catch ya around town or something…but right now... I should get going."

I turned around from Fluttershy and prepared to take off but was stopped by a, "Wait!" I turned back around to face her, "What is it, 'Shy?"

Fluttershy looked down at the ground and fiddled with her hoof for a moment before speaking, "I told you that we could try the flying lesson again…and um, I was wondering if we could…maybe try again later today, or tomorrow, or what ever is okay with you."

I had completely forgot about her saying that. I had no idea how long I was gong to take with Cloud Kicker and Ditzy, so maybe tomorrow would be best.

"Well, maybe tomorrow at no-"

"Can we go out in the evening?" Fluttershy interrupted me, for the second time in the past few days.

"Uh, sure. So…tomorrow at what, four?" Fluttershy smiled and began to nod, "Yes, that would be good."

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow then." I wanted to get going, not that I didn't want to be there. I just wanted to find Cloud Kicker and Ditzy as soon as I can, so I can get home and sleep.

Fluttershy said good bye and made her way back inside, as I turned around and leapt into the air and took flight.

~~~~~~
I flew above the streets of Ponyville as I made my way to Cloud Kicker's home. I couldn't think of a better place to start off. It seemed best to put most of my anger on Cloud Kicker cause I know she can take more than, Ditzy. Ditzy can be pretty emotional and I don't like hurting her feelings. Cloud Kicker, Fluttershy, Ditzy and myself go all the way back to flight camp. Ditzy is like Fluttershy, she takes things personally and is hurt more easier then other ponies. Cloud Kicker can take a beating and will still be cool afterwards.
Soon, Cloud Kicker's house came into view and swooped down toward it. I landed gracefully on the ground and trotted the rest of the way to the door. I knocked on the door and waited for her to open up. I waited for a few moments and when she didn't open, I tried again. I knew Cloud Kicker was home. She's always home on a Thursday, but she sometimes gets herself… a little too occupied.
After about two minutes, she finally opened the door. She looked like she had been hit with a twister and smelled like she jumped into a barrel of alcohol. Great, shes hung-over. Cloud Kicker shook her head and mumbled something I didn't quite catch, then she looked up at me and she stepped back a step.
"B-Boss?! Whattya doing here?" Cloud Kicker slurred. This is gonna be fun…"You should know why but, let me ask…How did everything go with the weather yesterday? Any complications?"
Cloud Kicker made a sigh of relief and took a step forward. "Oh thank, Celestia. Its just about the weather, and no. There were no…complications. Everything went as planned."
Unbelievable. "Cloud Kicker, can you tell me what the weather schedule was for yesterday?" Cloud Kicker rubbed her head and made a smile, "Yeah. In the morning we had clear skies and around afternoon I sent the teams to position the clouds in the right places, and at about three or four o'clock we let the storm do it's thing."
"A storm, huh? I could've sworn I said something else." Cloud Kicker looked at me, as if she was confused. "What are ya talking about, Boss? I was given orders to make a storm…" Okay, I'm done playing now.
"No. I gave you and Ditzy specific orders to keep the skies clear, and that we'll be having the downpour today. But you just went ahead and bucked it all up! Thanks to you foals, me and Fluttershy were stranded in a cave with injuries! Whatt'ya have to say to that?"
Cloud Kicker looked at me like a complete idiot, her face was priceless but it didn't make me any less angry. "Geez, Boss! You didn't give me the orders. I just did what I was told! Don't you remember who you gave them to?"
I looked at her and tried to remember. I couldn't seem to though, it must be because of when me and Fluttershy banged our heads together...it was hard enough to rememeber that. Or maybe it was just because I had a terrible memory.
"Urm, no. But that isn't- Ugh, never mind. Would you mind telling me who then? So I could go and chew the pony who messed up everything out."
"Only if you promise you'll go easy on her, you of all ponies should know how she is." I looked at her and sighed, "Fine. Just tell me who it was."
Cloud Kicker nodded, "It was Ditzy. She must've messed the orders up."
Ditzy. Of course! I should've at least guessed I gave them to her. Great. Now I yelled at the wrong pony, and the pony I have to yell at is the one I know I shouldn't yell at. For, Celestia sake!
I let out a grunt, "Of course…I knew that. Look Cloud Kicker, I'm sorry for yelling at you. It wasn't your fault."
"Its cool, Boss. Just don't go and yell at Ditzy, you know how she is." I nodded, "I know. I won't, don't worry. I'll let it slip… just this once."
"Alright. So…what were you and Fluttershy doing? Were ya banging?" I looked at her and let out a gasp. "Your sick Cloud Kicker! I was teaching Fluttershy some somersaults and stuff in flying. Sheesh you and your dirty mind!"
Cloud Kicker laughed, "Oh come on, Dash. I know you've had the hots for her since after flight camp. Why don't you just tell her…and don't even bother trying to convince me that you don't."
"Wh-What?" I couldn't think of anything else to say, she just answered the question I've been trying to figure out for…who knows how long.
"Rainbow, let me help ya out. I'm an expert on these kind of things."
I had to hold back from laughing. "You're an expect in getting banged, this kind of thing is completely different. Its not like I want to bang Fluttershy…Don't make me laugh."
Cloud Kicker smirked, "So... you do have a crush on Fluttershy?"
Then I realised what I just said. I held back from face-hoofing the life out of my face. "Fine, I guess I do. I just don't know if she even likes me back…or how I would tell her."
The lavender blue coated pegasus took a step toward me and put a hoof on my shoulder. "Rainbow, just take her out…make a nice scenery, set a romantic mood and when the time is right…tell her."
"But, how am I supposed to do that! I've never done that kind of thing before…I'll have no idea what I'm doing!"
Cloud Kicker shook her head, "Rainbow, don't be like Twilight down at Ponyville Library. You just do what you feel is right. You know Fluttershy better then anypony! Just do something that you think she'll like. Take her out for dinner or something, anything!"
Then I remember me and Fluttershys get together tomorrow, "Well. Me and Fluttershy are meeting up tomorrow to take another swing with flying techniques…Maybe I could tell her then."
"Maybe? That is just perfect! Now all you need to do is figure out how your going to tell her."
"I-I don't know, Cloud Kicker…"
"You'll think of something, you're a smart pony when you want to be."
She was right, I could be a pretty smart pony…when I wanted to at least. Being smart is usually really hard, so I usually just let other ponies take care of smarty stuff. If their too slow though, I take initiative.
"Well I should get going, Cloud Kicker. I need to think about a few things before tomorrow…Thanks for the advice." I began to make my way toward the door, as Cloud Kicker followed close behind.
"No problem, Boss. Just could you do me a favour?" I turned to face her, "As long as it isn't too much work, yeah."
Cloud Kicker nodded, "Don't worry it isn't anything too much…Could you just give this to Twilight please?"
Cloud Kicker took out a small envelope from under her wing and passed it over to me. "What is this?" I asked, looking over the envelope.
"Oh, its just a love letter. Don't tell her it's from me, its supposed to be a secret admirer kind of thing, ya know?"
"Twilight doesn't go for this kind of stuff, you know that right?" Cloud Kicker shrugged. "You owe me anyway. Just go give it to her and I'll see where things go from there…and I'll give you the details later." Cloud Kicker winked at me, telling me that by details, she means things I don't really want to hear.
"Ya know, I could've went to Rarity for help in romance…she doesn't give me stupid errands that get her banged, or make her look like a doofus."
Cloud Kicker didn't say anything as I made my way out of the door and headed down to Ponyville Library, and when I was done there; home was my next destination.
Chapter Three
The wind was strong enough to allow me to glide for most of the distance between Cloud Kicker's house and Ponyville Library. Not like I wasn't in the mood to fly or nothing, its just I was really tired. Maybe because I hadn't eaten anything all day and that I've been flying around from sunrise to now... I usually fly for long periods of time, but it doesn't effect me as much as it is now. Maybe Twilight had some grub I could mooch off of.
It didn't take me long to get to the Library and to land in front of the door in a perfect spiral. My hoofed rapped on the door and soon Twilight appeared.
"Oh, hello Rainbow." Twilight said warmly, yet she looked tired...probably been studying, as usual. "Hey there, Twilight. I just came to drop something off for you."
The letter that had previously been in my mouth while I was in flight, had been placed under my wing shortly after landing. I lifted my wing and pulled out the wrecked envelope with my teeth. "Heh, sorry about the condition…I was flying around with it."
Twilight looked at the envelope and nodded, "Its alright, Rainbow. Who is it from?" I opened my mouth to tell her, but shut it immediately. This was a secret admirer love kind of thing, its supposed to be a secret. "Sorry, Twi. I can't tell you."
"What, why can't you tell me?" Twilight began opening the envelope with her magic and began reading. "You'll see why once your done reading it, don't worry."
After a minute, Twilight started blushing and looked up at me. "A love note, stating a date, place, and time?" I nodded. "Yeah, you see why I can't tell you now…right?"
Twilight nodded and grinned. "Do you want to see what it says?" Oh wow, I get a chance to see one of Cloud Kicker's famous love letters. Thats a chance I wasn't gonna give up! "Sure, I'll take a look."
The letter was levitated toward me and I grasped it in my hoof and began reading,
My dearest Twilight,
I'm sitting at my desk, thinking about you constantly, thinking about what I'm going to say in this letter. So please, forgive me if this letter seems rash. Shall I begin with your luminous eyes, oh…your eyes. I can look at them for as long as time aloud me to live…
And then I stopped reading. Cloud Kicker really wants Twilight, but probably not for a permanent relationship. It isn't her kind of thing, she's more of a hit and run kind of mare.
"Yup, that's sweet alright. But um, I gotta get going. I haven't eaten since like yesterday, and well…I'm starving." Hopefully she'll offer me to stay for dinner, cause I had zip energy to fly home.
Twilight smiled, "Oh well, if you want you can spend dinner with me. I'm alone tonight since Spike was called forth by Princess Celestia, for some assistance in reorganizing their Library."
Success, just didn't need the details though; but I could make it a nice dinner conversation, I guess. "Sounds cool, thanks Twi."
"No problem at all, come on in!"
I followed Twilight through the door and into the center of the Library. She turned around to face me with a large grin, "I'll call you in for the food in a minute, just wait here." I nodded and watched her make her way into the kitchen. My stomach began to growl. I was more then surprised that it didn't start to growl at Cloud Kickers.
Maybe it was because I don't usually eat a whole lot each day, and that my body adjusted to it. Although...It was a little weird, but hey; it's the least of my worries. Considering I still have to think up what I was going to do about me and Fluttershys get together tomorrow. All I could think of was taking her on a stroll through the forest, but I doubt I'd be able to handle something so boring.
"Foods ready, Rainbow." I snapped out of my thoughts and began to make my way into the kitchen. When I entered the kitchen, I looked over the kitchen table and saw two plates of hay fries and a lily sandwich, one of my plate and one on Twilights. I sat down across from Twilight and licked my lips. "Looks great, Twi."
Twilight giggled, "Its just sandwiches and fries. Nothing spectacular."
"Yeah well, when I'm hungry… anything looks good."
After I knew it was clear to take a chomp out of my sandwich, I lowered my muzzle and took a big bite. It was so bucking delicious. I didn't even bother chewing, I swallowed the piece whole and I was satisfied. Twilight had levitated her sandwich up to her mouth and took small bites. She didn't seem very hungry.
"So what made you so busy today, Rainbow?" I looked up from my plate and cleared my throat, "Well, me and Fluttershy went out yesterday and thanks to the poor excuse of a weather team, we were stranded during a storm. When I got back, I had a few ponies I had to chew out...So I've been flying around practically all day." I aloud myself to pause and took another bite of my sandwich.
"Oh geez, were you two alright, did you get hurt?" I swallowed the sandwich and made a shrug, "Not anything severe, just a few bruises and burns."
"You got burned, from a storm?" I thought Twilight was a smarty pants? Eh, maybe shes just trying to make conversation. I told Twilight about the tree and how I saved Fluttershy from being crushed.
"That explains the burn, was Fluttershy alright?"
"Yeah, just a few bruised and cuts. I took most of the damage, though."
Twilight nodded, "So where did you guys take cover in during the storm?" I explained to her about the cave and went a little into how, Fluttershy thought everything was her fault, and that I had to convince her that is wasn't; and that it was my fault. "But, it wasn't either you, or Fluttershys fault. It was just dull-luck, that's all."
"Well, I couldn't think of anything else to blame it on. I'd rather put it on me then on somepony else, if I did that, it would just make the argument drag on longer. I know it wasn't neither of our faults." By now, my sandwich was gone and I started on my fries.
Twilight took another small bite of her sandwich and settled it back on plate. She just stared at her sandwich, making me feel uncomfortable. Something was bothering her, she looked…uneasy. "Hey, Twi…you alright?"
She looked at me directly and we shared eye contact with each other for minute, until she gazed down. "Twilight, you can tell me."
Twilight looked back up to me and sighed, "Its just…this love letter. I can't tell if it's a joke, or real." For Celestia sake, I thought it was something bad. "Why would you think its fake? I was asked to deliver it to you personally."
"That doesn't necessary mean that it isn't fake. Besides, why would anypony even like me? I'm just a librarian, I'm nothing special."
Shoot. Just think of something comforting, and don't go over board. "Twilight. Don't say those thing about yourself! You are a awesome friend, your caring, your smart, your understanding and…" Think of something to top it off, come on, come on!
"And, your beautiful. Now, what mare or stallion wouldn't want that?" Twilight looked at me with glassy eyes and made a small smile. I got up from my cushion and made my way toward her. "Who wouldn't want that, eh?"
Twilight turned around to face me completely, a tear rolling down her cheek, but I was greeted with a smile. She wasn't supposed to say anything, so I just pulled her into a hug. She leaned into my chest and nuzzled me. It was pretty cute, actually but…Fluttershy is more cuter when she does it.
"If I were you, Twilight; I would just do what the letter says. Trust me, the pony who sent this to you means it. I know them personally." I felt Twilight's head nod up and down against my chest, and I felt like I was done here.
"Thanks, Rainbow. It means a lot to hear you say that." I began to move out of the hug and chuckled, "No problem, Twi but, I should get going…I have a huge day tomorrow."
Twilight wiped the tear from her cheek and nodded, "I do too, with this secret admirer and all." Little does she know, I'm in the same situation. "Yeah, well I got a similar kind of situation actually."
"Oh really? Well...Why don't we meet up the day after tomorrow and share what happens, since we're doing kind of the same thing tomorrow?." Twilights interested in my love live, eh? Oh well, that would be cool I guess.
"Sure. I'll come by the day after tomorrow. Good luck on your date, Twi." Twilight smiled at me. "Good luck to you too, Rainbow Dash." Twilight walked me to the door and opened the door with her magic with a smile. "I'll see you later, Rainbow." I nodded, "Yep, see ya." I trotted past Twilight and made my way out the door. I turned around at the sound of the door clicking. The door was shut and now, I was able to make my way home. Finally.
I began to consider doing a quick stretch before taking off. After sitting on a cushion for almost an hour made my leg a little sore, but I wasn't complaining. Twilight and I were going to share our experiences in romance, which is something I never guessed I'd share with Twilight. Shes just so…eggheady. Not like I don't think she could get a mare or even a stallion, its just her eggheadish ways, and my athletic awesome ways, don't match.
Anyway, after a minute of just standing in the same place, I began to do a little stretch and soon my leg was back normal. I shifted into a comfortable position to take off, allowing my wings to expand in their full length, while the now soft wind blew gently through my feathers, rustling them up...it felt wonderful.
With a mighty flap, I was off the ground but then something happened I didn't expect…I felt a surge of pain on my tail and my face slammed into the ground. Damn, that hurt. I turned around in rage to see who did it, and I was greeted with the pony I never would've guessed…
"Hiya Dashie! Where are ya flying off to? Your big, fluffy cloud castle?" I lifted myself off the ground and shook my head, "Pinkie, why did you do that? That hurt!"
"Aw, I'm sorry Dashie. Its just you looked so focused with your flying that I thought biting your tail and pulling you down was the only way to get your attention." How does she talk so fast…I don't know. "You could of just called my name, and besides; what's so important that you had to pull me out of the air?"
Pinkie giggled, "What, can't I say 'hey Dashie!'?" I let out a groan. "You pulled me out of flight to just say, hey?"
The hyper pink pony shook her head, "Well DUH! But if you want to know something I can think of something, one second!" Pinkie put her hoof to her muzzle and began to think. I was going to tell her it was alright, but then I remembered; this is Pinkie Pie I'm talking to.
"Oh, I got something! Okie dokie, I saw Fluttershy sneaking over to Rarity's Boutique earlier today and she didn't come out for a whole hour."
Wow, a whole hour. "Huh, did they have a spa day or something...wait, never mind. Do you know why she was there?" Considering Pinkie Pie, she probably does. Her and that…pinkie sense.
"Yes indeedy! Fluttershy went for advice in romance cause she has a crush on somepony. Isn't that just totally adorable?" Pinkie explained excitedly, hopping in the spot.
"Fluttershy went for advice in romance…wait, do you know who she likes?" This is devastating, but at the same time good. Either she has a crush on somepony else, or she had a crush on me.
Pinkie Pie giggled, "Oh Dashie, you have to find out for yourself! I can't give all of the answers, you silly filly!"
Pinkie Pie hopped off down the road before I can say anything else. Good thing too, cause I had no idea what to say to that. Since Pinkie was gone, I flapped my wings once again and was momentarily airborne. The wind carried me through the sky, and soon I was home. Thank Celestia for that.
I made my way inside and toward my bedroom. It had been a long day, and I just wanted to sleep. Once I entered my room, I plopped myself onto my bed and curled into a ball, wrapping my tail around myself for comfort. It could be pretty lonely at times, but at least I had Tank. Sad part was that he was asleep most of the time, and since hes a turtle…I mean, tortoise. Hes too slow to play with, so since I have no use for him; he just sleeps around the house most of the time.
The room was dark as I lay on my bed, thinking about tomorrow. Tomorrow was still unplanned, and I had less then twenty four hours to figure it out. Cloud Kicker may have said that I was a smart pony, but no matter how much thought I put into this; I just couldn't think of anything. Maybe everything will just unfold by itself tomorrow, but for now…sleep.
The small critters scurried from place to place around my cottage as I rested on the sofa, by a nice cozy fire. It had been a hard few days, with the storm and being stranded in a cave alone with…Rainbow Dash. The thought always seemed to send a shiver down my spine, and my mind would get all disoriented. All my thoughts becoming about, her. Why couldn't I shake these feelings off? Why am I crushing on my filly hood friend? What if Rainbow Dash found out…will she hate me, will we stop being friends? The answer to those questions, were unknown.
What is there to like about me anyway? I'm just a shy, quiet, fearful pony, that cant even fly more then twenty feet off the ground unless somepony was with me. Rainbow is the complete opposite of me. Shes brave, tough, a great flier, good looking, has a beautiful mane, a nice tone body, and the way her eyes sparkle when she looks at you…Oh! I'm sorry, I just can't help it. Thinking about Rainbow does that to me. Please don't hate me, or stop reading…I'll stop.
Anyway, it was still early in the day after Rainbow had dropped me off at my home and left me, alone. I hadn't really planned anything to do for the day, other then feed and take care of my animal friends. After I had done that…I didn't have much to do and since I wasn't occupied, I started thinking about her again. I couldn't help it, and I definitely didn't know what to do about it.
Through the morning, I tried my best to stop thinking about how Rainbow had put her foreleg other my shoulders, and snuggled up to me the previous night. Oh…and yes, I knew about that. I've become very good at tricking Rainbow. She thinks she knows me, and she does. I sometimes just like to trick her but, not in a mean way! Don't tell her, please. She might get mad at me for tricking her.
Oh, what was I saying…oh yes. Through the morning, I just couldn't stop thinking about how Rainbow had held me the night during the storm, and how much I loved it. I remember when she nuzzled my cheek. My face must have been burning, cause thats what it felt like. Rainbow probably didn't notice, shes not known to really realize those kind of things but; she also rested her chin on my head, and now my mane smelled like her. It was…intoxicating. Her smell just drove me crazy. I had tried to wash it out so it would stop its effect on me, but the smell just wouldn't fade.
After that, I just gave up and I was flat out of ideas. I began to think that maybe I should go and talk to somepony. I thought about my closest friends, Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity. I knew Twilight didn't know much about romance, I knew that Applejack might be a little…iffy about a mare liking a mare, since her family is very traditional and all, I thought of Pinkie Pie but, just thinking about her gives me a head ache sometimes.
Then I thought about, Rarity. Shes my closest friend other then Rainbow and I talk to her about things I couldn't always go and talk to Rainbow about. Sometimes, Rainbow just doesn't understand things, and Rarity is my go to pony in that situation and this; was definitely that kind of situation.
~~~~~~~

I knocked on the door of the Carousel Boutique and began to wait for Rarity to open the door. I wasn't sure if she was home or not, but this was urgent…I needed to talk to somepony about this. I heard the door knob turn and soon Rarity popped up from behind the door.

"Fluttershy, Darling! Why didn't you just come in? This is a public place, you know." I knew that, but it's also her home…so I like to be polite.

"Yes, I know. Its just that it's also your home, so I knocked." Rarity nodded, "Thats very polite of you, Fluttershy. Now, would you like to come in?"

"Oh yes, thank you." Rarity led me inside and toward her sofa. "Now, Fluttershy. Was there any particular reason you came to see me out of the blue?" Oh no, she doesn't want me here… "I'm sorry, I can leave if you don't want me here."

Rarity shook her head, "No, no Fluttershy. I just wasn't expecting you is all. Is there something on your mind thats troubling you?"

"Ye-yes but, more of a someone, not something." Rarity's expression instantly changed. "Is this a…crush kind of situation?" I lowered my head and nodded, "Yes. I have a crush on somepony and I can't seem to, well…stop thinking about them."

Rarity's mouth dropped a few inches, and a huge grin spread across her face. "Oh, Fluttershy! You must simply tell me who the lucky stallion is."

Lucky stallion…more like lucky mare."Well, um. Rarity, it isn't a stallion." Her expression changed slightly, but she was still smiling. Thank goodness for that!

"Oh well, who is the lucky mare then?"

I swallowed to clear my throat, scared to tell her about Rainbow. Scared she'll be appalled by the thought of me liking a pony who is a complete opposite. Oh…what if Rarity gets so angry she flips the table in a lady like manor and lectures me on how I should pick mares with more care?!

"Fluttershy, are you alright?" My terrible thoughts came to a stop and look up toward Rarity, and took a big breathe. I need to tell her, thats what I came here for; to get help.

"The mare I have a crush on is…its, Rainbow." I closed my eyes and hid my face under my mane, scared of what her reaction will be. I heard a squeal coming from the outside of my mane, and I immediately came out of hiding, to come face to face with a extremely happy Rarity.

"Oh hoho! I just knew you had a crush on Rainbow Dash! I just knew it, Darling!" Rarity put a gentle hoof to her mouth and took a small breathe, "So, what exactly do you need help with? Are you afraid she won't like you back?"

"Oh yes, I'm terrified that if I tell her…she'll just turn me down, and we'll stop being friends, or worse…she'll hate me forever!"

Rarity put a hoof on my shoulder and giggled, "Fluttershy. Rainbow wouldn't hate you just because you told her you like her. Besides, is there any signs that may show that Rainbow has feelings back for you? Anything touchy perhaps?"

"Well, when Rainbow took me our to practice my flying yesterday…we got caught in a big storm and were-"

"Oh my, were you two alright?" Rarity interrupted, but it was alright. It was a valid question. "Well, yes. There was this tree, and it caught on fire. I was stuck underneath a big branch but, Rainbow saved me and she took most of the, damage."

"Thats very loyal of her, of course. What happened next?"

I continued telling Rarity about what happened the previous night, including the fight between Rainbow and myself. It was hard to talk about, since it hurt so much to argue with her. When I was finished telling her about it; I told her about what Rainbow did when I was fake sleeping.

"Why…that is so sneaky, yet incredibly adorable! Oh, Fluttershy. I never took you as a pony who tricks other ponies!" Rarity giggled a little.

"Please, don't tell Rainbow that I tricked her…or anything else in that matter. I need to tell her myself but, I just don't know how to!"

"Fluttershy, all you have to do is be brutally honest. Tell her how you truly feel, thats all I can give you. The rest is up to you."

"But, Rarity...what if she rejects me, what if-"

"No. You mustn't think so negatively. Stay positive, and with the positive attitude you will obtain positive results. Is that clear, Fluttershy?"

I nodded. "Ye-yes, I understand."

"Excellent. Now, you better be off. I have orders to fulfill, and you have Rainbow to deal with it." Rarity began leading me to the door. Well...more like gently pushing me, which was alright, of course.

"Thank you Rarity. Your...advice means a lot. I'll put good use to it." Rarity opened the door, and nodded. "Of course you will, now go on along now. I'll see you on our next spa date, and you can tell me all about how it goes then."

Rarity waved her hoof as a farewell, and closed the door behind me. She must be really busy to kick me out so harshly. But...I did come over without notice. Its my fault, she isn't to blame though.

Now that I talked to Rarity and got some tips, now all I have to do is...well, tell Rainbow how I feel. This was going to be hard. Its going to be hard since I only have until tomorrow to think of something, and thinking in my house is a little hard at times; mostly because my animal friends are always talking to each other.

Maybe tomorrow, I just need to get out for a little bit in the morning. Get my head cleared before me and Rainbow's get together. Oh, I know just the place too! Its a lovely little place on the outskirts of Ponyville, a large field with open range, and no noise other then the wind. It's the perfect place to go to think.

I think for now though, I should get back to my cottage and get a good night sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a long day.

Chapter Five

Birds. Why don't they ever shut up? I turned to face the window as my body was sprawled across my bed, barely capable of moving. The night had been restless and I got barely any sleep. I couldn't stop thinking. Couldn't stop thinking about, Fluttershy. I don't even know what to do for the get together still.

It was only eleven in the morning and I've been laying in the exact same position since I woke up, at about seven. My body was numb, but I didn't care. My mind was still functioning, yet it provided no help with providing an answer. But, through the time I've been laying motionless…I began to think that; maybe I was over thinking things, and the answer was simple. What if all I had to do was tell her how I feel, instead of trying to think up some cheesy date to try and win her heart.

That isn't me! I'm the type of pony who just goes out and does it. Don't need to plan, don't need to think, all I ever have to do…is do. Yet, love isn't simple. It's confusing as buck. Like sheesh! Why cant it just be simple, so everypony is happy, including me? The world would be a much better place if ponies didn't have to think up some, stupid plan to reveal their love for somepony. Like those birds outside, their probably chirping so loudly to just get in contact with their mate...who in their nature would do that? Not me. I shouldn't think about it too much, right now…time to get up.

I began to try and get up. My body was so numb, I felt like I had no body at all. Which made it hard for me to start the process of getting out of bed. I was laying on my back so, why not start with my forelegs? Since I'd need them to support my body for getting up.

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, HOLY BUCK.

Alright, that was somewhat painful, but now my forelegs were in motion. I began to push myself up in a sitting position, which wasn't too hard. Good. Now I was sitting and now I just have to move my back legs, and I'll be able to walk.

I lifted my back legs off the bed, feeling the numb pain spreading over my haunches as they almost reached the cloud floor. They touched the ground, and now I was standing. I did a huge stretch to motivate my body to start moving. I heard a few cracks as I stretched, which to me; meant I was doing a good job.

Which I did. After the stretch…I felt much better.

Now that my body was functioning normal, I began to make my way to the front door to stretch my wings too. I sped past my bedroom door, past tank, and out through the front.

The sun was bright and warm against my coat as I warmed up my wings in the pleasant morning breeze. After about a minute, I began to flap harder and I began to bolt through the clear cerulean sky. Wind coursing it self through my mane and pushing it back, my heart was racing and my eyes squinted with determination was I looped and spiraled through the sky.

This was the best part of my morning. Just me, myself, and my wings. Busting up tricks in the sky and doing what ever I want, and no one can stop me. Cause when I'm flying, I'm Rainbow Dash; the greatest flyer in all of Equestria. Flying is my life, flying is my whole being, flying is my companion when the world turns against me, flying is my everything.

Flying is something I hope I'll be able to share with a special somepony one day. A special somepony hopefully being, Fluttershy. She doesn't have the same kind of love for flying like I do, but it's something we have in common. In fact; one of the only things we have in common.

Fluttershy and I have known each other for a really long time, but we've lived with the fact that we don't have much in common, other then flying. She prefers to be tending critters on the ground, while I prefer risking my life up in the sky; doing the undo able. I'm the daredevil, while Fluttershy is the coward. Always cowering from any kind of challenge, any kind of danger. It's who she is, and I wouldn't change her just a bit.

Why would I change her? If I did, I'd loose the sympathetic mare I fell in love with. The sympathetic, kind, timid, loving pony that I don't what I'd do without.

I rested on a cloud high above Ponyville, looking down at the small village below. It had been a lovely fifteen minutes. Just laying on a cloud, the gentle breeze flowing over me, thinking pleasant thoughts; now certain what I was going to do.

Now I felt confident, and even more determined then before. I stood up on the cloud and peered over the edge. I was so high up, the small village was…well, tiny. That wasn't going to stop me, buck no! I was going to go for a little plummet, the highlight of my mornings. What I do when I feel really daring, what I do when I feel unstoppable.

I took a deep breathe and leapt off the cloud. My body angled to face in a steep slant, building up speed as I went farther and farther down. My heart was pounding against my chest, my mane streaking behind me…

A bright rainbow blazed up the sky as I tore through clouds, coming closer to the ground. My eyes were squinted while wind whipped against face constantly, but I had to see; or else I'd crash muzzle first with the ground. I allowed my eyes to close for a moment, knowing that I was still far up from the ground.

"Eeep!" What the heck?!

Before I knew what exactly was going on, I was rolling and tumbling on the grass…along with another pony. When we came to a stop, I opened my eyes and came in contact with a pair of amazing cyan eyes, full of fear…yet they looked so beautiful. A crème coat and pink mane followed, making my heart increase in speed; realizing that our coats had been combined in cyan and crème.

Fluttershy looked at me with a bright blush, as I laid motionless on top of her. I could feel my face beginning to burn up as I looked at her. My mind told me get up, but my heart told me stay.

We laid there for almost a whole minute, until I realized how extremely awkward it was getting. "Fluttershy…are you alright?"

Fluttershy gulped, "Yes. Are you…okay?" I nodded, "Yeah. Sorry about crashing into you. I lost focus, and stuff."

I turned away, trying to hide my face from her; knowing that I was most likely blushing like crazy. Fluttershy shuffled underneath me, "Rainbow…can I get up, please?"

"Oh yeah, sure." I got off of Fluttershy and put out a hoof. She took it with little hesitation and I helped her get back onto all fours. Fluttershy looked at me a little indirectly, still blushing. I looked around to check our surroundings, and noticed we were in a big field. Wait…what was Fluttershy doing in a field in the middle of no where? Hold on, that means I went the wrong direction. Shoot.

"Mind if I ask what you`re doing in the middle of a field, Fluttershy?"

"Oh, um…I was just out for a walk." Fluttershy shuffled her hoofs uneasily on the ground and looked around constantly, avoiding eye contact. Is she lying? Cause that isn't a Fluttershy thing to do!

"It's pretty far from your cottage. How long were you walking for, 'Shy?"

Fluttershy looked up and made a small grin, "Probably about half an hour. I can walk pretty fast, but I think…I just came out here to clear my head. I've been…um, thinking a lot. How about you…why were you flying around, here?"

I looked up at the sky and sighed, "Well, I wasn't aiming to fly here. I must've angled myself wrong and completely missed Ponyville. I was up pretty high, so that's the only reasonable explanation…I guess."

Fluttershy nodded and looked up at the sky. She began to smile at something, so I turned around to look up too. What she was smiling at was my rainbow trail. It glowed brightly in the clear sky, as it pierced through stray clouds and sparkled. Why she was smiling at this now; I don't know. Fluttershy has seen it at least a million times.

"You know, Rainbow…" I turned around back to Fluttershy as she continued to speak, "I know we're not supposed to meet for, a while; but would you like to join me for a walk or, flight?"

I grinned and agreed without hesitation, "Sure. Why not?"

Fluttershy's smile grew bigger and she began to blush. I felt my cheeks burning up a little also, as we began to walk through the never ending field.

It had been probably more then a hour that we've just been walking. Chatting about the randomness things. Things like Flight Camp, the random picnics we shared together, flying, but mostly importantly; it was just us talking about fond memories.

I had no idea what time it was, but I didn’t care. Fluttershy and I hadn't talked like this in like, forever. There was something different about her today. She seemed a little more open then usual, a little more…confident in herself. Whenever we’d share eye contact she’d blush, but would continue staring right at me. I swear, it was like she was staring into my soul; unraveling all of my secrets, secrets I don’t want anypony to know; secrets that only Fluttershy has permission to know. Cause, secretly I love her. She just doesn't know it…yet.

We stopped in the centre of what seemed to be the field that never ended. Me and her sat side by side, slightly brushing against each other. We just stared up at the sky, without a word. Fluttershy sat on my right, and I sat on her left. It’s obvious, I know. I just don’t know how to describe how I felt at this point. All the emotions were spinning in my head, all the emotions I thought I've never thought I’d feel for someone else. All the emotions ponies have to come to presume I don’t feel. Yes, I know.

Others look at me, thinking I’m not into romance, and that I only care about flying and becoming a Wonderbolt. That isn't true. Well, for a while it was…but that was before I started feeling these feelings for, Fluttershy. She pulled me out of my, well…selfishness, and showed me a new world. A world where I could probably find a pony I can live the rest of my life with.

I felt a cool breeze whip against my side, making me flinch. Fluttershy reacted immediately and scooted right up against my side. I felt my heart skip a beat, almost startled at how fast she reacted. When the breeze came to halt, I felt her begin to move away but out of no where; my foreleg darted up and I pulled her back up against me. Coming with a small, “Eep!”

Fluttershy didn’t move away, instead she moved in closer and nuzzled into my chest with a blush. I unfolded my wing and allowed it to wrap around her, pushing her closer to me. She didn’t seem to mind, all I know is that I didn’t.

“So, um…Dash?” I looked down at Fluttershy and grinned. “Yeah Fluttershy?”

“Do you still want to, teach me flying techniques…if you don’t, its alright.” I turn my eyes to look up at the sky, seeing how clear it was and nodded.

“Totally! Come on, we’ll start with the easy stuff.”

~~~~~~~
Front flips, back flips, 360 degree turns…she nailed them all! Clearly an improvement from the last time. There was definitely something different from her today, obviously more independent, brave, and something else I couldn't put my hoof on.
I sat on the ground watching Fluttershy fly about sixty feet off the ground, doing the tricks she just learned to do. I was pretty proud of her, from coming from failing miserably to actually perfecting a back flip in a few tries. Not like it beats me. Heck, I perfected it before I was even born!
Fluttershy landed back on the ground and grinned at me, making me break out into a smile.
“Dash, aren't you going to join me?” I raised an brow and laughed, “Heck yeah! Come on, Fluttershy,” I darted up into the air, “Try and catch me!”
Fluttershy leapt into the air after me as I began to fly at a steady pace away from her. I didn’t fly too fast, knowing if I flew at my normal speed; Fluttershy wouldn't be able to keep up. She did pretty well at keeping at pace with me though, she nearly caught me a few times. I heard her giggle at times, making me laugh as well.
After a good ten minutes, she finally gave up and flew to a cloud to rest. I was pretty surprised that she lasted for ten minutes. I was a little tired myself, so I flew to the cloud and rested beside her.
“That was really fun, Dash. I never really…flew like that before. It felt, amazing.” I looked at her and chuckled, “Huh. You think that was amazing? You just started with the basics. When you get into the harder tactics and manoeuvres, then we’ll see how it makes you feel.”
Fluttershy moved her mane out of her face with her hoof and began pawing at the cloud. “I don’t think I’d be able to do anymore then a few flips. I’m not, a strong a flier as you.”
“You never know until you try. But, there isn't only tricks and flips you know.”
Fluttershy laid down on the cloud and looked at me with a small smile. I laid down as well, right beside her and smiled back at her. She turned her head to face forward. “Do you think…” Her head came back, and our eyes locked, “That maybe…” She trailed off, and turned away blushing as red as a beet.
“Do you think, that maybe…what?”
She didn’t turn back around but instead looked the other direction. I put my hoof on her shoulder and scooted right up against her. “Fluttershy, what is it?” She was just fine a second ago, and now she was upset. Did I do something wrong? I heard her sniffle, and she turned back around. Her large glassy cyan eyes met with my magenta, or at least I guess that’s how you’d describe it.
Fluttershy stared right at me and sighed, “I went and talked to Rarity yesterday about something that’s been…well, eating at me lately. And I want to, um…talk to you about it.”
“Oh, well. What is ‘Shy?”
She sighed again, “Lately I've been, feeling…a strong feeling for somepony. I- I couldn't bare keeping it to myself. Most importantly, I didn’t know what to do about it. So, I went to talk to Rarity about it. I told her who-”
“Who is it?” I burst out, looking straight into her eyes.
“That’s the problem. I’m too scared to tell you. I’m scared, you’ll be mad at me…and leave me, forever.”
This struck me hard. Doesn't she trust me? Or…is she scared to tell me that she likes, me? No. No. Fluttershy doesn't like me. Or, does she?
“Rarity told me that with, positive attitude…I’ll obtain positive results. But, I’m still too scared to tell you.”
“Fluttershy. You shouldn't be scared to tell me anything. I've known you since we were foals. You can tell me anything…I’ll never leave you, you understand that right?”
“Oh, of course. It’s just that…if I tell you, do you promise you won’t leave me alone forever?”
I sighed at how over dramatic Fluttershy could be and nodded, “I promise.”
“…Pinkie pie promise?” Seriously? “Yeah. Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.” I said as I did the ridiculous hoof gestures.
“Alright, the pony I like is…” I kept constant eye contact with her, and realized that her eyes were filling with tears. She opened her mouth but stuttered. I then realized that what she was trying to say is…that it was me. Fluttershy is really shy, but she wouldn't be scared to tell me who she liked, unless her crush was… me.
Fluttershy lowered her head. I moved in as close as I could get and placed my hoof underneath her muzzle and lifted it back up, and kissed her without hesitation…okay, maybe a little. I heard her gasp and tense up, but almost immediately I felt her ease down. My hooves wrapped around her neck and pulled her closer, as Fluttershy practically collapsed; and I was her only support.
The kiss was unbelievable. I never expected this kiss to be so amazing, so radical, so…awesome. Fluttershy had deepened the kiss, shocking me to the bone, but leaving me overly satisfied. I didn’t want to flee from this embrace, this is what I've wanted for so long. This kiss, this moment, made everything else invisible, as if the only thing in existence was Fluttershy and myself tongue tied…but to ruin the moment, I still had the confession part.
I broke the kiss as slowly as I could, and nuzzled Fluttershy’s neck as I took in deep breathes, trying to regain control of my breathing. This was the hardest part, and I needed all the breathe I could get…cause there was a lot to say.
I moved a little distance from Fluttershy’s muzzle and looked right back into her eyes, to make she sure she knew; that what I was about to say was true…and that, ugh forget the describing, time to explain.
“Fluttershy. I-I've been wanting to tell this for who knows how long…for the past few days, after the storm. After we were stranded in that cave, and when it was just us. These feelings came out of nowhere and I couldn't shake them off. I just figured they‘d fade, but every time I tried, they’d just come back stronger and stronger. It took me a visit with a friend to snap me back to reality, and to realize that…I was well, in love with you.”
“I’m terrible at explaining and expressing my feelings ‘Shy. But I've been trying to figure out how I was going to tell you for this whole week, but I couldn't come up with anything clever, or romantic…and I wanted to make it special, and I-”
Fluttershy pressed a gentle hoof to my muzzle and smiled, “Rainbow Dash. You didn’t need to think of anything clever or, romantic. Just look at how well, this…went,” Fluttershy looked down and frowned, “ I've been meaning to tell you same thing, also. I was too scared to tell you because I thought you’d reject me and I’d lose your friendship, and even if I couldn't have you as a marefriend, I’d be devastated to lose you as a friend because… we've been through so much together. You were the pony that stuck up for me when everypony else teased me, you let me cry on your shoulder when I needed a shoulder to cry on. You were the only one I could turn to, for the longest time.”
“Even when I must of gotten on your nerves, like during that storm. You risked your own life to save mine, and you got hurt worst than me. I was terrified and…I probably would've, died if it wasn't for you. I’d probably be, a wreck if it wasn't for you,”
Fluttershy coughed, clearing her throat; as I was still listening with full attention, “And…I knew about, when you put your foreleg over my shoulder and cuddled up against me during the storm,” What? She knew about that!? Well…not like it matters now.
“Oh, Rainbow Dash…I could go on forever about how much I…how much I, love you. I can’t think of anything else to say, even though I know there’s so much more. My mind is just so discombobulated…”
I reached out a hoof and grasped Fluttershy’s hoof in mine and smiled, “I get what your saying ‘Shy. But now just leaves the big, question.”
“What’s that, Dash?” I moved closer to her face, a few inches from her muzzle. “Will you be my marefriend?”
Fluttershy smiled at me, as a single tear fell from her eye. Her forelegs embraced my neck and said the magic words, “Yes Rainbow!”
My forelegs reached out for her waist as I pulled us in a sitting position, and just squeezed in a tight hug…both of us crying, and yes I was actually crying. This is what I've wanted for as long as I can remember. It just took me my whole foal hood to now to realize it. Now I had what I wanted, and I couldn't need anything else to make me any happier.
Fluttershy leaned forward and I immediately met her half way, and pressed my lips against hers. She kissed me back, laughing and crying at the same time. It was beautiful, it was the most radical feeling that I've ever experience. Maybe almost as spectacular as flying. Well… maybe not that amazing.
But, maybe with Fluttershy; flying would be a whole lot meaningful. Maybe now, my life would be complete, with Fluttershy being the final piece of my life puzzle. Now, it was just me and Fluttershy, and I couldn't ask for anything more awesome. Tomorrow…I’d have a great story to tell.
My hoof rapped on the door of Ponyville Library. Today I had agreed with Twilight to meet up to share our date experiences…if that makes any sense. It’s hard to put in words for some reason. Too bad I didn’t have time to think, ‘cause I heard the door creak as Twilight opened the door beaming,
“Hey Rainbow Dash, come on in!” I grinned at how happy Twilight seemed.
“You’re in a good mood today Twilight. I’m guessing your date went well?” I asked casually as I made my way inside the Library, slumping myself onto the floor.
Twilight came in my direction and nodded, “Actually yes. It went better than I had expected and…you’ll never guess who it was Rainbow!”
I smirked, “No…who was it? You have got to tell me!”
“It, it was Cloud Kicker!” Twilight clopped her hooves together as she sat down beside me, “I didn’t expect it to be her. She’s far out of my league, but it actually went well…considering how Cloud Kicker usually is, well from what I heard at least. But mother of Celestia, it went swell!”
Twilight is one crazy filly when she wants to be, especially when she’s love struck. Well, I don’t know if she’s love struck, but she does seem pretty hyped about how well her date with Cloud Kicker went. I’m happy for her.
“So Twilight. What did you and Cloud Kicker do for your date? Anything romantic?”
The crazy filly sighed, “Well…we didn’t go on what a normal date would be like. You know, dinner or anything. Instead we met at Town Square and than came back here, when we got to the Library I got us some drinks and, we got to know each other.”
got us some drinks and, we got to know each other.If I had been gulping down a drink at that exact moment I probably would’ve spit it all over Twilight’s exported carpet.
“Wait a minute Twilight. What do you mean by ‘I got us some drinks and, we got to know each other’?”
Twilight blinked for a second and than blushed, “Well. I mean get to know each other. What do you think I mean Rainbow?”
“What do I think? I think you just hopped in bed with a pony on your first date!” I gave her a wink, “Smooth move Twilight.”
The lavender purple unicorn blushed furiously as I chuckled at how adorkable she could be at times. “But seriously Twilight. Is that what happen?”
Twilight bite her lip, “Well…yes and no, but I, um. I don’t remember what exactly happened.”
“Don’t worry Twilight. I can explain everything that happened last night.”
I turned my head around to face the door to see Cloud Kicker standing in the flesh in the doorway. How long she had been standing there, I don’t know.
“Cloud Kicker! How long have you been standing there for?” I asked as Cloud Kicker casually made her way toward Twilight and myself.
“For about a minute. Not very long…but anyway, do you want to know what happened with me and Twilight?”
“Yes.” Both Twilight and me answered in unison.
“Well alright. Grab a sea- oh wait never mind you’re already sitting. Ahem, well I’ll start from a little bit after we got to the Library…”
~~~*~~~*~~~

The purple unicorn drained another glass, moving onto her fifth. I was obviously going to get lucky tonight, but I had to stay calm. Though, it would be cruel to take advantage of a innocent sexy librarian…especially if it’s Twilight Sparkle. Especially if she’s Princess Celestia’s star pupil, and the Element of Magic, and not to mention she saved Equestria more than once. Wow. I've got a lot of my plate.

“So as I was saying ‘hic’. Spike can be pretty bucking annoying at times. Always complaining about ‘hic’ how much work he has to do all the time, and that I don’t do anything other than bossing him around. Which isn't even true! Like for Celestia’s sake, I've done more work than he’s ever done in his whole lifetime! The most work he’s ever done was reorganizing the Library and dusting shelves. What have I done? ‘hic’ I've ran all over Canterlot fighting changelings, dealt with my friends when they were under that freaky Discord magic and well…a whole whack a mole more!”

Twilight had slurred most of what she had just said, but it was clear she was complaining about how Spike complains all the time. Which I doubt is true.

“Twilight. I highly doubt that Spike complains that much I’m sure he complains sometimes, but I think you may be over exaggerating it. Though you are right about the whole saving Equestria and how much it was to deal with….but you and myself know that you weren't forced to do it, and you were giving a chance to decide, and you made the right choice.”

I couldn't help but agree with the helplessly drunk unicorn as she continued to gulp down glass after glass, I had lost count by now. Luckily the bottle was getting empty pretty fast.

“Ugh. You are so right Cloud Kicker! Like, I know saving Equestria is a huge pain in the rump, but hay, somepony has to do it; and I was just the pony ‘hic’ to do it.” Twilight gulped down the last of her drink and slammed the glass on the table, going for the bottle; but realizing that it was no empty.

“Ran out of wine. Buck sakes!”

“You’re right Twilight. If I was Celestia, I wouldn't have chosen anypony but you. You’ve got the right stuff for the job. You know that right?”

Twilight wiped her muzzle with her hoof and let out a loud ‘hic’. For Celestia sake…she’s so adorable. “Yeah…I know but,” Twilight put her face in her hoofs and stuttered, “It’s just a huge responsibility!” Twilight wiped a tear from her eye, “How would you feel if you had the faith of a country, or even an empire in your hooves, and if you messed up, thousands would suffer because of your faults.”

I got up from my seat to comfort the now sobbing unicorn. As I sat down beside her my wing wrapped around her, bringing her close. “It’s alright Twilight. You don’t have to worry about it at the moment. There isn't anything terrible happening right now, you can rest without any worries.”

Twilight had wrapped her hooves around me and was crying into my chest. Her warm tears had been making my fur damp. “I, I hope so Cloud Kicker…” Twilight slid up to come face to face with me. I wasn't scared, or even shocked, especially when she moved in closer to her mouth. I felt her hot breathe. It smelt bitter and sweet, driving me crazy. I desperately wanted a taste, but I wasn't going to make the move…Twilight was drunk, and it was her decision. Even if we were to go all the way, I wouldn't let it happen. It just isn't right to do that when a pony’s drunk.

That’s just what she did. She moved into my personal space and attacked my lips with hers. I kissed her back instantly, allowing her to invade my mouth with her tongue. Her mouth felt warm and sticky, and I craved it. I wanted it.

Though she had kissed me and was getting really frisky, I could feel things were getting really intense and I had to stop her, considering she was drunk. I gently put my hoof to her chest and pushed her back, breaking the kiss. Twilight grumbled as she stared at me with squinted red eyes.

“Come on Twilight. Let’s get you to bed.” I got up and helped Twilight up, and lead her up the stairs to her bedroom. She wobbled beside me and crawled into her bed, as I helped her under the covers.

I turned around to go downstairs and leave but I heard Twilight mumble something. “Did you say something Twilight?”

Twilight patted the covers of the bed, “Stay here tonight Cloud Kicker…please.” Her eyes were barely open as she pleaded quietly, “Please.”

“Alright Twilight, but you have to go to sleep. No funny business.” I got into the bed with her and nuzzled her gently, “Not on the first date at least.”

Twilight snuggled up to me and rested her head my chest, mumbling something I didn't quite catch, and fell asleep.

~~~*~~~*~~~
“And then before the sun rose I left ‘cause I had weather duty. Wouldn't wanna upset Rainbow again.”
I looked back and forth at Cloud Kicker and Twilight. Drunk Twilight…I never thought I’d hear such a thing.
“Oh my goodness Cloud Kicker! I ruined our first date…I’m so sorry.” Twilight got up and hugged Cloud Kicker. Cloud Kicker chuckled and hugged Twilight back.
“Don’t worry about, ‘Twi. It was still a pretty nice date. I had a good time, don’t sweat it.”
I turned around from the romantic scene and made a barfing face. Romantic moments were only cool when you’re experiencing them yourself. When it’s other ponies, it’s just awkward and unpleasant.
“Um. I’m sorry but, is Rainbow Dash here?”
I heard a familiar voice coming from behind me, making me turn back around. It was just the pony I wanted to see. Fluttershy.
“Wow Fluttershy, you have like…the awesomeness timing ever. Things were getting kind of romantic with these two mares right about now.” I pulled Fluttershy into a hug, ignoring the glances from Cloud Kicker and Twilight.
“Oh well…thank you, I guess.” Fluttershy mumbled, hugging me back.
“Rainbow! You didn't tell me about you’re date yet. I completely forgot!” Twilight exclaimed shaking her head in disbelief.
“Well…it went radically. That’s all you need to know.”
Twilight looked disappointed. “You’re not going to tell me what happened?” I sighed, “Twilight…you kind of would’ve had to been there. It’s hard to describe.”
“Could you at least tell me who it was then?” Twilight pleaded, looking at me with puppy dog eyes. Man this filly is desperate!
“Well, since I did promise…it was with Fluttershy.” I heard the yellow pegasus behind me let out a ‘eep’. I turned around to see Fluttershy blushing. She’s so adorable.
“Oh wow! That’s so cute. I’m sure you two will make a great couple-” Twilight stopped as Cloud Kicker began whispering something into her ear. Twilight blushed and giggled, “But um…if you two don’t mind, could you maybe-”
“It’s cool Twilight. Me and Fluttershy were heading out anyway. You two have a good time.” I flashed a quick wink to Twilight and guided Fluttershy out of the Library, closing the door behind us.
“Ready to go practice Fluttershy?” Fluttershy nodded, signalling me that it was okay to take off and lead the way to the field.
Both me and Fluttershy soared through the air over the empty field. We laughed as we both did loops, occasionally bumping into each other…well Fluttershy bumped into me, and afterward apologizing. She was so adorable, I couldn't help but make her even more embarrassed by licking her nose every time she apologized, making her flutter.
We chased each other in the cerulean sky, dashing through stray clouds and reaching heights untouchable, as Fluttershy held on tight to me. She didn’t like flying as high as I did. So I offered a flight, she couldn't help but accept.
We had flown so high up, the trees and plants below were microscopic. Fluttershy squeezed my neck as I jumped off the cloud without any warning, and began to dive back down to Earth.
“Rainbow stop!” Fluttershy shouted into my ear, making me stop in a flash.
“Wh-what’s wrong ‘Shy?” Fluttershy got off my back and flew in front of me, not looking down, but looking straight at me.
“You’re pretty, crazy…you know that right?” I blinked and shrugged.
“I don’t know…why, do you think I’m crazy ‘Shy?” Fluttershy smiled and pushed me onto my back. I was startled at first and almost stopped flapping my wings for a minute, but I regained control.
“Well, a little bit…but that’s what I love about you.” Fluttershy climbed on top of me as I lay on my back in the sky, and kissed me hard on the lips. My wings flapped frantically as I kissed her back, while me and her hovered in the never ending cerulean sky.
She broke the kiss and blushed, “I’m so happy, that we’re finally together now Dash.” I smiled, “Me too Fluttershy. Me too.”
