Chapter Two

I shivered as a cold gust of wind swept over me, pulling me out of my slumber. I blinked my eyes a few times and let out a quiet yawn. I was still tired but, I was really comfortable. Fluttershy and I were still cuddled up with each other, but she was still sleeping. I wiped my eyes with my free hoof and took a look over to Fluttershy to make sure she was alright.

Fluttershy seemed fine. She felt a little cold but, she was fine. I must've shielded her from the wind from the night. Thank, Celestia for that. I would hate for Fluttershy to get sick and not only because of that, but because it would make the trip back home more a pain as its already going to be. My leg was still feeling soar and so was the rest of my body. That tree really took its toll on me, and Fluttershy too.

My chin was still buried inside her mane, my foreleg still holding her and, my wing was still covering her and a little bit of myself. The position we were in was a great source of warmth, but it was going to be a little hard to explain when she woke up. That was the only problem now…was explaining to her how we got into this position. My tail was somewhat in twined with her's but I didn't bother trying to move it. If I did , it would wake up Fluttershy and I would prefer she woke up on her own. Not because I was getting uncomfortable, that was impossible.

I peered outside the entrance of the cave. The sky had cleared up. Good…they actually did something right, for once. I felt like getting up and going out for a quick fly, but if I moved it would wake up Fluttershy. But…maybe if I got up quietly, I could get out for a while before she wakes up and, if I succeed…I wouldn't have to explain what happened the previous night and how we got into this.

Fluttershy was breathing slowly and was in a deep sleep. I could always tell if she was sleeping deeply, or lightly. We've known each other so well and for so long, that I've come to be able to figure these things out.

First things first; get your tail untwined with hers. Okay…That should be easy. I slowly moved my tail away from hers and soon it was untwined. That was easy! Okay, next up the wing. Again, I slowly began to lift my wing off her back. Fluttershy began to stir a little and my heart skipped a beat but luckily, she calmed down and my wing was off. Okay that was close…now my chin and leg. Starting with my chin, I lifted it up slowly and after my chin left contact with her mane, I took my foreleg off her and with that, I was free.

Now that I was free, I could go out and get warmed up for the trip back home. I got up from the cave floor and peered down at Fluttershy. She was sleeping soundlessly, which was good. She needed the rest, cause it was going to be a hard trip home.

~~~~~~
I wiped the sweat off my forehead and continued my way through the entrance of the cave. I saw Fluttershy sitting up looking at me worriedly, she must've of gotten worried about me for being out for so long and, for leaving her without telling her.
"Morning Fluttershy. Did you sleep alright?" She looked at me and made a small smile, "Yes. Did you have a good sleep?" I nodded back at her, surprised she didn't ask me about where I was. She probably already presumed I went for a fly. Since I do just that every morning. Since she didn't seem to be interested in how my flight had gone, I guessed I should ask her when she wanted to leave.
"So…When do you want to start heading back to, Ponyville?" Fluttershy stood up from the cave floor and made her way toward me. "We can leave now…if thats alright with you, of course."
"Are you sure? Cause it's going to be a hard trip back. Since we're both hurt…and stuff."
"I'll be alright Rainbow. I just hurt my leg, I'll be able to fly. Should we…get going?" I looked at Fluttershy and couldn't help but let a smile creep onto my face. "Yeah, lets head out."
Fluttershy nodded and began to make her way out of the cave, as I followed her not too far behind. I watched her kick off the ground as I did the same, and we started our flight back to Ponyville.
~~~~~~

We landed in front Fluttershy's cabin, and she landed lightly on the ground beside me. It hadn't been as hard a flight I expected it to be. There wasn't much struggle, but a little over half way back, Fluttershy had gotten tired and I had to help her fly the rest. I was still pretty weak, so she just flew close to me for support and I lead her the rest of the way. It made me pretty tired though.

Fluttershy looked up at her cabin and looked worried. She had told me that she was really worried about her animal friends; Since she was there for a day, they had to spend a day without food. I told her that they were probably fine, but she couldn't help but be worried. It's practically what Fluttershy does. Be worried, all the time.

I nudged Fluttershy gently on the shoulder. "I'll catch ya later, 'Shy. I have a few ponies that I need to have a little chat with."

"Oh…do you mean Cloud Kicker and Ditzy?" I smirked and chuckled. "Yeah…they need to be taught a lesson on what they get for not doing what their told."

Fluttershy's eyes bulged. "Your not going to hurt them, are you?" I laughed and shook my head. "No, well maybe. They did ruin a pretty good day." Fluttershy knew I could get pretty angry, which was why she was being cautious of the safety of those numskulls.

"Yes, they did…but I'm sure they didn't mean too." Fluttershy always thought it wasn't anyone's fault. But she was sweet like that. "Who knows. I'll catch ya around town or something…but right now... I should get going."

I turned around from Fluttershy and prepared to take off but was stopped by a, "Wait!" I turned back around to face her, "What is it, 'Shy?"

Fluttershy looked down at the ground and fiddled with her hoof for a moment before speaking, "I told you that we could try the flying lesson again…and um, I was wondering if we could…maybe try again later today, or tomorrow, or what ever is okay with you."

I had completely forgot about her saying that. I had no idea how long I was gong to take with Cloud Kicker and Ditzy, so maybe tomorrow would be best.

"Well, maybe tomorrow at no-"

"Can we go out in the evening?" Fluttershy interrupted me, for the second time in the past few days.

"Uh, sure. So…tomorrow at what, four?" Fluttershy smiled and began to nod, "Yes, that would be good."

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow then." I wanted to get going, not that I didn't want to be there. I just wanted to find Cloud Kicker and Ditzy as soon as I can, so I can get home and sleep.

Fluttershy said good bye and made her way back inside, as I turned around and leapt into the air and took flight.

~~~~~~
I flew above the streets of Ponyville as I made my way to Cloud Kicker's home. I couldn't think of a better place to start off. It seemed best to put most of my anger on Cloud Kicker cause I know she can take more than, Ditzy. Ditzy can be pretty emotional and I don't like hurting her feelings. Cloud Kicker, Fluttershy, Ditzy and myself go all the way back to flight camp. Ditzy is like Fluttershy, she takes things personally and is hurt more easier then other ponies. Cloud Kicker can take a beating and will still be cool afterwards.
Soon, Cloud Kicker's house came into view and swooped down toward it. I landed gracefully on the ground and trotted the rest of the way to the door. I knocked on the door and waited for her to open up. I waited for a few moments and when she didn't open, I tried again. I knew Cloud Kicker was home. She's always home on a Thursday, but she sometimes gets herself… a little too occupied.
After about two minutes, she finally opened the door. She looked like she had been hit with a twister and smelled like she jumped into a barrel of alcohol. Great, shes hung-over. Cloud Kicker shook her head and mumbled something I didn't quite catch, then she looked up at me and she stepped back a step.
"B-Boss?! Whattya doing here?" Cloud Kicker slurred. This is gonna be fun…"You should know why but, let me ask…How did everything go with the weather yesterday? Any complications?"
Cloud Kicker made a sigh of relief and took a step forward. "Oh thank, Celestia. Its just about the weather, and no. There were no…complications. Everything went as planned."
Unbelievable. "Cloud Kicker, can you tell me what the weather schedule was for yesterday?" Cloud Kicker rubbed her head and made a smile, "Yeah. In the morning we had clear skies and around afternoon I sent the teams to position the clouds in the right places, and at about three or four o'clock we let the storm do it's thing."
"A storm, huh? I could've sworn I said something else." Cloud Kicker looked at me, as if she was confused. "What are ya talking about, Boss? I was given orders to make a storm…" Okay, I'm done playing now.
"No. I gave you and Ditzy specific orders to keep the skies clear, and that we'll be having the downpour today. But you just went ahead and bucked it all up! Thanks to you foals, me and Fluttershy were stranded in a cave with injuries! Whatt'ya have to say to that?"
Cloud Kicker looked at me like a complete idiot, her face was priceless but it didn't make me any less angry. "Geez, Boss! You didn't give me the orders. I just did what I was told! Don't you remember who you gave them to?"
I looked at her and tried to remember. I couldn't seem to though, it must be because of when me and Fluttershy banged our heads together...it was hard enough to rememeber that. Or maybe it was just because I had a terrible memory.
"Urm, no. But that isn't- Ugh, never mind. Would you mind telling me who then? So I could go and chew the pony who messed up everything out."
"Only if you promise you'll go easy on her, you of all ponies should know how she is." I looked at her and sighed, "Fine. Just tell me who it was."
Cloud Kicker nodded, "It was Ditzy. She must've messed the orders up."
Ditzy. Of course! I should've at least guessed I gave them to her. Great. Now I yelled at the wrong pony, and the pony I have to yell at is the one I know I shouldn't yell at. For, Celestia sake!
I let out a grunt, "Of course…I knew that. Look Cloud Kicker, I'm sorry for yelling at you. It wasn't your fault."
"Its cool, Boss. Just don't go and yell at Ditzy, you know how she is." I nodded, "I know. I won't, don't worry. I'll let it slip… just this once."
"Alright. So…what were you and Fluttershy doing? Were ya banging?" I looked at her and let out a gasp. "Your sick Cloud Kicker! I was teaching Fluttershy some somersaults and stuff in flying. Sheesh you and your dirty mind!"
Cloud Kicker laughed, "Oh come on, Dash. I know you've had the hots for her since after flight camp. Why don't you just tell her…and don't even bother trying to convince me that you don't."
"Wh-What?" I couldn't think of anything else to say, she just answered the question I've been trying to figure out for…who knows how long.
"Rainbow, let me help ya out. I'm an expert on these kind of things."
I had to hold back from laughing. "You're an expect in getting banged, this kind of thing is completely different. Its not like I want to bang Fluttershy…Don't make me laugh."
Cloud Kicker smirked, "So... you do have a crush on Fluttershy?"
Then I realised what I just said. I held back from face-hoofing the life out of my face. "Fine, I guess I do. I just don't know if she even likes me back…or how I would tell her."
The lavender blue coated pegasus took a step toward me and put a hoof on my shoulder. "Rainbow, just take her out…make a nice scenery, set a romantic mood and when the time is right…tell her."
"But, how am I supposed to do that! I've never done that kind of thing before…I'll have no idea what I'm doing!"
Cloud Kicker shook her head, "Rainbow, don't be like Twilight down at Ponyville Library. You just do what you feel is right. You know Fluttershy better then anypony! Just do something that you think she'll like. Take her out for dinner or something, anything!"
Then I remember me and Fluttershys get together tomorrow, "Well. Me and Fluttershy are meeting up tomorrow to take another swing with flying techniques…Maybe I could tell her then."
"Maybe? That is just perfect! Now all you need to do is figure out how your going to tell her."
"I-I don't know, Cloud Kicker…"
"You'll think of something, you're a smart pony when you want to be."
She was right, I could be a pretty smart pony…when I wanted to at least. Being smart is usually really hard, so I usually just let other ponies take care of smarty stuff. If their too slow though, I take initiative.
"Well I should get going, Cloud Kicker. I need to think about a few things before tomorrow…Thanks for the advice." I began to make my way toward the door, as Cloud Kicker followed close behind.
"No problem, Boss. Just could you do me a favour?" I turned to face her, "As long as it isn't too much work, yeah."
Cloud Kicker nodded, "Don't worry it isn't anything too much…Could you just give this to Twilight please?"
Cloud Kicker took out a small envelope from under her wing and passed it over to me. "What is this?" I asked, looking over the envelope.
"Oh, its just a love letter. Don't tell her it's from me, its supposed to be a secret admirer kind of thing, ya know?"
"Twilight doesn't go for this kind of stuff, you know that right?" Cloud Kicker shrugged. "You owe me anyway. Just go give it to her and I'll see where things go from there…and I'll give you the details later." Cloud Kicker winked at me, telling me that by details, she means things I don't really want to hear.
"Ya know, I could've went to Rarity for help in romance…she doesn't give me stupid errands that get her banged, or make her look like a doofus."
Cloud Kicker didn't say anything as I made my way out of the door and headed down to Ponyville Library, and when I was done there; home was my next destination.
