Entering An Unknown World

War.
It is hardly inevitable but it never changes, no matter which Era it happens upon. After one battle ends, another begins.

I am the strongest Eagle Union aircraft carrier Enterprise. After a prolonged and hard battle against the Red Axis, we rescued Akagi from both Oorochi and Amagi's grasp. All four of our major camps won a great victory against the Siren onslaught. But while some of us celebrated and while I was elected the leader of the base we all share as one group, I feel uneasy. True I'm a different, better person, thanks to my personal maid, Belfast, who made me see that I really am human after all. But somehow I still don't feel right, despite her confidence and the assistance of our allies.

We were steaming southeast of Azur Lane with a fleet that had most of our main forces already joining us. There had been reports from two of our cruisers about suspicious activity out in the ocean, so we steamed out to investigate. Only this time, we were all in this together as one, instead of battling each other like we used to. The sky was overcast, and the weather was slowly closing in with low fog in the distance.

"Hmm..." said Belfast, who was among our fleet of ships. "We seem to be getting close to where Northampton and Portland last saw what they reported."

"Yes," agreed Cleveland, who was also among us. "But I don't know how we're gonna spot anything in this pea-soup fog; we can barely see past our own noses."

"Indeed," I told them. "Nevertheless, I want us to keep all our radar systems on at all times and maintain a slow speed. We don't want to crash into anything."

"Mm-hmm," added Indianapolis, Portland's sister. "Let's get through this weather as quickly as possible. I suggest we avoid possible zigzagging until the fog eventually clears."

"Good call," I said. I then informed the rest of our allies, to which they all agreed and said it was for the best.
Just a short yard off my port bow, Hornet, Columbia, Northampton and Denver were keeping a watchful eye out in the distance. Hornet was watching the weather for any change, and the other three were keeping watch out to the sea for what would come.
Some of the Royal Navy, Iron Blood and Sakura Empire ships were growing increasingly uncomfortable.
Suddenly, from Hammann's perspective, she noticed something very strange happening dead ahead. At the same time, the water temperature started dropping and the weather started getting worse.

Then, suddenly, there it was... something round and translucent blue appearing every five to ten seconds... it was some kind of strange wormhole! But who or what was causing it? Was it the Sirens again, or something else that was doing it? Whatever it was, we were heading right for it! And because we were suddenly caught by its grasp, none of us could pull away!

As we were starting to go through it, we were surrounded by darkness in black and blue, and lightning volts all around us. It so bad that all our radar systems froze and jammed, and an unknown, ultra-loud noise followed soon after. It was so loud, that we all covered our ears and fell to our knees!

"Agh, stop!" shouted Cleveland, covering her ears.
"Make it STOOOOOOP!!!!" bellowed Montpelier.
"THAT SOUND!!!" I cried out, as Belfast held me close to help comfort me.

In fact, all of us held our ears, begging and shouting for the noise to stop. We were squeezing our ears so hard, it was beginning to hurt!
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, we left the wormhole, the noise was gone, and our radar systems were operational again. Once we climbed back on our feet, the weather seemed better now. How odd.

Vestal checked us all over, and we were all fine, despite some dizziness and headaches. Once her assessments were completed, we tried contacting Azur Lane, but we received no response. We each checked our radar units, but our base nowhere to be seen.

A few minutes later, we held a quick meeting on my flight deck.
"My fellow allies, I don't know about any of you, but I have no idea what's happened... but I don't exclude the possibility of war," I said to them.

"I agree with Grey Ghost," said Zuikaku. "But more than that, I have no idea of where we are, or what's happened to our base."

"If I may," suggested Hornet, "maybe we should send up a scout plane or two, so that we can see where we are, and what we'll find along the way."

"Yes," said Prince of Wales. "We need to find out if the Sirens are behind this or not. And if they are, we have to prepare for battle with them."

"Make it so," I said in a serious manner.

Within minutes, Shokaku and Zuikaku each sent a scout plane in the air, then Graf Zeppelin, Hornet, Kaga, Illustrious and I provided escort and fighter protection to join up.
After 45 minutes in the air, Zuikaku finally had a visual with her scout plane.

"I have something!" she called.

"What do we have?" asked Bismarck.

"Hold on... I see a city with a castle in the... mountains? Wait, I see something else. Unknown targets.
Possible enemy contacts, all surrounding the castle. They look like they're going to attack the city and the castle!"

"That's our cue, then," I decided. "All units, scramble all planes and climb aboard! We're going to the castle!"
Once we transformed, then acquired our battle gear and armor, we hopped on and took to the skies.

"Let's go!" I called, and off we went.
I only hope we would arrive in time to whatever battle this was going to be.

Azur Lane and Ponies VS Changelings!

Equestria.
The City of Canterlot.

A wedding was slowly taking place, but it was sabotaged by an evil queen who was the ruler of her swarm, and had impersonated the bride. She had also put the groom under a spell, as his eyes were as green as a lime. After she foolishly revealed her true self and announced her true intentions on the altar, she knocked out the princess of Equestria with her laser blast, making her fall to the floor, along with her crown. That shot up a flicker of light and caught our attention very quickly.

"What the...?" asked Ark Royal, who was riding on one of her RAF Spitfires, and jumpy at the flicker.

"There!" I called. "That's our target! Let's drop in and give them a big surprise!"

"We're right with you, Enterprise!" replied Hiryuu.

With that, our planes made a 91.2-degree turn northward to engage the unknown targets. Meanwhile, inside the castle, after the wedding attendees had evacuated, a group of six triumphant and heroic ponies: two unicorns, two earth ponies, and two Pegasus, ran outside across the city to retrieve powerful items they could use to stop this invasive attack on the castle, and the city.
But as they ran closer, they were stopped by these monsters, and were completely surrounded, both on the ground, and in the air, with no chance of going any further.

"Looks like we're gonna have to do this the hard way," declared one of the Pegasus that had a rainbow-colored mane and tail.

Then, suddenly, out of nowhere, a strange light blue and white shape zipped through the skies like a rocket, swooped down and plowed through each of the monsters! When it re-emerged, one of my Dauntless SBD dive bombers caught the attention of the six ponies, and the swarm as it climbed back in the sky.

"What the hay was that?!" cried the orange earth pony.

As we were closing in fast, the white unicorn pony said, "Not what, darling... who! Look!"

"I see it, but I don't... sweet Celestia, look at their speed!" cried the purple unicorn pony.

"Alright, we're here!", I called out, "All planes engage the targets in the air! Any of you ships with swords, and those of you who can fight, get on the ground and help those six creatures!"

And so we did. Atago, Takao, Zuikaku, Prince of Wales, Javelin, and Ayanami landed on the ground, drew their swords and spear, and then charged at the invaders to attack.

"Who are you?" asked the yellow Pegasus a little timidly.

"We'll explain later," replied Zuikaku. "But we're here to help you save your city; let's go!"

With no need to be told twice, the six ponies followed and joined our fleet to help attack. The Cleveland sisters were gaining the upper hand by attacking most of the swarm, while some of the other ships from the Iron Blood and Royal Navy did most of their attacks with their turrets and their hands and fists.

"11:00!" Indianapolis called out.

"Ja, I see them! Feuer!" yelled Bismarck as she scored multiple shots.

"Take zat!" cheered Z23 as she also scored some shots.

Among them, the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen was battling physically. Using her shark-like jaws (like Doc Ock using his tentacles), they each bit and ate one of these invaders after another. As some charged down towards her from the air and took a shot, she blocked them with her armor belts.

"Guten tag, Herr flying objects. Having fun yet?" she teased. But they just kept on coming from all directions.

By now, the four Sakura Empire ships and the Royal Navy vessels have been gaining the upper hand, and even the six ponies were amazed at their fighting style.

"Go on!" called Atago. "We've cleared the way long enough for you to keep running!"

"Yes," agreed Ayanami. "We'll keep them at bay and hold them off long enough for you to get what you need!"

The six ponies obliged and made a run for it. "Thanks for your help against these changelings!" called the pink earth pony.

"Changelings? So that's what they're called," thought Wales as she and the allies kept on battling them.

Meanwhile, we all scrambled one plane after another: SBDs, F4Fs, Zeroes, BF-109s, RAF Spitfires and Swordfish... but though we tried our hardest and engaged the changelings in the air, we were all blown out outside of the sky. We managed to land safely on the ground, but while we were hopelessly outnumbered, we kept on fighting to save the kingdom.

To make matters worse, by the time the six ponies reached their destination to get the items they needed, they were once again surrounded by changelings everywhere.
With no other option, the six ponies all had no choice but to surrender and be brought to the queen on the altar in the castle.

Absolute Victory, and the Happy Ending

Inside the castle just a short distance from the altar, the six ponies that had been taken hostage were brought before the evil changeling queen, who we were told went by the name of Chrysalis. Among the prisoners were Ayanami, Takao, Cleveland, Bismarck, Prinz Eugen, Prince of Wales, and Belfast, who were all relieved of their weapons and their gear.
When they were being taken to the altar, they all had a chance to finally introduce themselves to each other.
The bride, whose name was Princess Cadence, were all stuck in goo. Her soon-to-be husband, Shining Armor, was the groom that was under the queen's spell.

After Chrysalis ordered her minions to join the other changelings to feed off the love from other ponies, she gloated about Twilight's suspicious behavior and how she was never listened to. Now, all Twilight could do was watch as Queen Chrysalis gazed out of the window and marveled on how her minions had taken every pony, including the wedding attendees, guards, and more of us hostage. Because of how she was distracted, Twilight quickly seized this opportunity and helped free her soon-to-be sister-in-law.

However, no sooner was Cadence unstuck and her fiance restored from his trance, Chrysalis suddenly reappeared! Before Cadence could even use her spell to restore Shining Armor's magic, and with his power growing useless, we were facing defeat, and the changelings were winning. With this being her only chance, Cadence lined up her horn with Shining Armor, restoring him and freeing the captives outside while knocking some changelings off-balance.

"Look over there!" called Javelin, and pointed where the new flicker of light came from.

"I see it!" I acknowledged. "All units to the castle, now!"

Quickly, we all re‐acquired or gear, then ran into the castle as fast as we could.

"You go ahead, I'll finish these things off!" called Hornet.

With the captives free and safely out of the streets, Hornet lifted up her flight deck...
"B-25 DOOLITTLE SQUADRON, ATTACK!!!" and scrambled ten of her fully armed Mitchell B-25s into the sky. After 30 seconds over Canterlot...
"Get ready, you suckers! Bombs away!"
They all dropped their ordinances on the remaining changelings. This caught Chrysalis by surprise!

"What?! NOOOOOO!!!!" she shouted. Then she and her remaining minions were whisked away from the couple's magic, and the castle, landing out of sight, out of mind!

At last, the battle was over, and we all won. As the couple rejoiced, Twilight and Vestal helped Celestia to her hooves, and was very grateful for our help in repelling the changeling onslaught. Once we were all properly introduced and explained that we were from a distant world, which Celestia was amazed over, we were all invited as guests of honor to the wedding, as a token of her appreciation.

When preparations were beginning properly this time, we were especially given the opportunity to help out and assist Twilight and her friends, as did Ping Hai Ning Hai of the Dragon Empery.
At last, the wedding day finally came, and there would be no interruptions again. Before beginning, though, Princess Celestia called four of us to the altar. Once we arrived and removed our hats after kneeling, the princess had something to present to us with help from Spike the dragon.

"Fillies and gentlecolts," she announced, "it is my great honor to bestow these four medallions to Enterprise, Queen Elizabeth, Bismarck and Nagato of Azur Lane for saving our beloved kingdom from the changeling invasion. I hereby nominate you honorary soldiers of Equestria!"

"Danke, Your Highness," said Bismarck.

"You can count on us," added Nagato.

"And should you become involved in a war with your greatest enemies, our declaration will follow within the hour. Compliments of the Royal Navy," remarked Queen Elizabeth.

"Indeed," I chimed in. "And like a great politician once said: no matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the people of the Eagle Union, in their righteous might, will win through to absolute victory."

This received a big round of applause, and the wedding was an enormous success towards the end.

"I now pronounce you mare and colt," declared Celestia.
Cheers erupted all around the cast, inside and out.
Hornet was so happy that she nearly cried.

"What's wrong, Hornet?" asked Arizona.

"I just wish Yorktown and Lexington were here to see this," she answered tearfully, and Arizona hugged her shoulder.

Hours later, the party began. During the festivities, our planes dropped fireworks in celebration, and we all had a fun night. After we were introduced to Princess Luna, who was lucky not to have missed anything, I wondered how we would ever get back home to our base.
But Belfast laughed and told me not to worry.

While we enjoyed the party, I could tell this would be a day, and a night to remember.
