Bury the Hatchling

In a secret laboratory, a pair of eggs stood tall. The bigger egg began to crack as the creature inside begins to hatch. Its long creepy claws poke through while it make terrifying squeaky sounds. As more of the egg cracked, more of it was revealed. The other egg began to hatch but at a slower rate. By the time it poked through with its claws, the other was mostly free. Its pale white skin, mangled teeth, firery red eyes, and its scary growl reveal its true nature. Even at this stage of life, it wasn't cute. But it was hungry.

We're going to Jurassic World?!

In a quiet little suburb in America during winter, a giant foot crunches the snow. It was scaly and had three toes on its feet. It lowered its head to look on the ground, revealing it to be a crow. It cawed as it heard a car pull up the driveway and flew off.

Inside the house, a young purple haired teenager known as Twilight Sparkle was having a slumber party with her friends. A year ago, Twilight wouldn't have cared about having friends, but ever since she moved here and started going a new high school, she met these five and became friends with them. And this was the first slumber party at her house.

The six of them were in the living room in their pajamas, eating pizza and popcorn, drinking soda, and watching TV. The movie that was on was a film about dinosaurs. Though Twilight nitpicked the many inaccuracies and Fluttershy closed her eyes at the scary parts, they were still having a good time. All six of them loved dinosaurs, though their knowledge on dinosaurs varied between each member. As they watched the film, Twilight's mind wandered to the existence of the ultimate dinosaur lover's dream, Jurassic World. After InGen got bought by Masrani Global, Simon Masrani decided to make Jurassic World and open it to the public, despite how much of a disaster the first park was before it even opened. He moved some species from Isla Sorna and captured some of species on Nublar and put them into the park. He also cloned many new ones, some originally on InGen's list, some entirely new to being cloned into the modern age. He opened the park, and it's been running ten years without any major problem. Yet, in all that time, Twilight never visited. She wanted to, but the chance never arrived.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard Rainbow mention her. "Yo, Twi." Twilight shook her head before looking at the rainbow colored, short haired teen sitting on the couch with her. "Yes, Dash?" She asked. "I've been trying to get your attention but you didn't answer. I wanted some of the popcorn." Rainbow replied with a raised brow. Twilight gives her the bowl and Rainbow chows down rather messily. "For heavens sakes, Dash. Could you at least have some better manners?" Rarity, the purple haired teen on the couch, moaned. The blonde haired Applejack sitting on the floor rolled her eyes at the primadonna before turning to Twilight. "Y'all okay, sugarcube?" She asked in her southern accent. Twilight nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine, AJ." Applejack was skeptical but accepted it and turned to watch the movie with the light pink haired Fluttershy laying on her stomach next to her, who was deeply invested in the outcome and drinking a Dr Pepper, Applejack and Fluttershy's favorite sodas. She handed one to Applejack, which she took with a smile. Pinkie, who had darker pink hair than Fluttershy, sat next to them, eating pizza just as messily, if not more so, than Dash. Rarity saw this and sighed.

As the movie continued, the six of them were on the edge of their seats. The main protagonist was cornered by a hungry looking Ceratosaurus, a medium sized horned theropod dinosaur from the late Jurassic Period. Twilight mentioned this earlier. That lead to a whole conversation about why Jurassic World was called that when most of the dinosaurs were from the Cretaceous. No one had an answer other than marketability. The Ceratosaur snarled and Fluttershy squeaked in fear. Her flinch hit Applejack. "Oh, I'm sorry, Applejack." Applejack just gave a supportive smile. "It's all good, sugarcube. It gave me a bit of a jump as well, to be honest." Rainbow scoffed, "It looks too fake to be scary." Indeed, it wasn't the most high budget of films and the effects were somewhat lacking. Still, the snarling lip and slit eyes of the predator were scary enough for most of the teens. "Besides, I could take it on." She said confidently. Applejack raised a brow. "Really? Cause ya can't even beat me in a arm wrestling match. How you going to beat this thing?" She gestured to the TV as the Ceratosaurus charged towards the protagonist's love interest as she screams. Rainbow opens her mouth, but realized she didn't have an answer, so she just turned to the TV. Applejack smirks as she turns back.

Just as the film was about to reach its end, the door opened and Twilight's parents, Twilight Velvet and Night Light, walked through. "Brr, it's cold out there tonight." Night Light shook as he said this. Twilight Velvet put her coat on the coat rack before looking at the girls. "You girls having fun?" The teens all nodded and yelled "Yeah!" Velvet smiled before Twilight asked, "Where did you go, mom?" She and Night Light smirked. "Well, you've been very well behaved lately Twilight, and we thought you deserved a reward." Pinkie gasped. "OMG, Twilight! You're getting something cool!" Rainbow rolled her eyes. "Knowing Twi, she'll probably get a book or something." Applejack kicked her legs in response to Rainbow's snark. "Ow." Rainbow moaned. "It's a treat for all of you, actually." Night Light mentioned. All the girl's eyes widened at this news. "We had to talk to your families each, but they all agreed and we bought them today." Velvet said.

She dug through her purse and pulled out six pieces of paper. She handed them to Twilight, who took them and looked at them. Her eyes widened and a giant smile appeared on her face. "No way! Tell me you guys didn't!" She yelled. Night Light came up and smirked. "We did." Twilight's smile grew before yelling, "We're going to Jurassic World!" The girls gasped before they all screamed in excitement. "We're going to Jurassic World!" Night Light wrapped his arm around Velvet's shoulder as he watched their girl and her friends get so excited. They knew the girls wanted to see the park for so long, and now they get their chance.

If only they knew how short lived that joy will be once they arrived.

Welcome to Jurassic World

While the girls were getting ready to go to Jurassic World, on the island itself, the owner of the park, Simon Masrani was getting ready to get in a helicopter. They had just made a new enclosure for an asset, but he needed to see it for himself. Not only did he need to see if it was safe and he's never seen the new creature before, but he wanted to make sure the animal was comfortable. Much like his old friend Hammond, he didn't build the ultimate theme park for profit, he built it to make sure guests enjoy themselves and he wanted the animals to be happy, too. Jurassic World exists to remind us how very small we are in the grand scheme of things, and the new asset will certainly help with that.

His phone started ringing as he opens the door. He stepped back and answered his phone. "Hello, this is Simon Masrani. Velvet! I haven't heard from you in a while. How are the kids?" Velvet replied. "Oh they're doing fine. Shining Armor is still in the military, but he said he's coming home for the holidays, and wants to introduce us to his fiance." Simon smiled at hearing his old friend's voice. "Well, that's wonderful. And how's your daughter and adopted son?" "Spike is fine. He's starting junior high school soon. And Twilight is doing well. Actually, she's kinda why I'm calling you." Masrani raised his brow at the statement. "See, she's coming to Jurassic World with her friends and I was hoping, maybe you could give them a tour. I owe you for helping me and Night Light get together. Simon sighed. "I'd love to help, but you caught me at a bad time. My schedule is a little full at the moment. I do owe you, though. Tell ya what, I'll meet them at the monorail, bring them to the Innovation Center, and get them a tour guide. It's the best I can do on short notice. Actually, how long are they staying?" He asked. "Well, at least a week. The tickets I bought them gave them a room at one of the hotels as well. Masrani smiled. "Tomorrow, I'm free. So, I'll give them a tour myself tomorrow. Is that okay?" "Of course. Whenever you're free. I don't want to force you into it." Masrani's flying teacher waved at him. "Oh, shoot. I'll be there in a sec." He told his instructor before telling Velvet. "I gotta go. I'll meet them at the docks, though." "Oh okay. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to me."

As he hung up, he smiled. He hadn't heard from her in ages. They've talked on social media over the years, but it isn't quite the same as talking in person. He knew of their kids and has seen pictures of them, but never personally met them. Life gets so busy for him, after all. But now he gets to meet their daughter, along with her friends. He hopped into the helicopter. Now he just had to wait for his operations manager to show up so they could see their newest attraction and so he could hopefully get to the docks when they arrive.

As the ferry moved across the ocean, Twilight couldn't help but feel excited. She was visiting Jurassic World! After so long of waiting, she was going, and with her best friends in the world to boot. Could it get any better? Her thoughts were interrupted by a spastic Pinkie Pie. "Isn't this exciting?! Are you excited cause I'm excited. I've never been so excited!" Twilight shook her head while smiling at the sugar crazed teen. "Hey, do you think they'll have Brontosauruses on the island? I've always wanted to see one." Pinkie asked. Twilight shrugged. She was tempted to correct her and say they have Apatosaurus, which are Brontosaurus, until she remembered the studies that showed they are two different species after years of them being thought of being the same animal. Maybe the park would have Brontosaurus on the way or in the park, then. Who knows? "Maybe, Pinkie."

On the beach chairs near by, Rarity was putting on numerous amounts of hair spray. Rainbow coughed as some got into her face. "Do you really need that much hair spray?" Rarity looked over her way. "Yes, I do. As wonderful as this park is sure to be, it's on a tropical island and the humidity will mess with my hair if I don't do this." Rainbow rolled her eyes. She looked over to Applejack and Fluttershy, who were simply enjoying the sun. Rainbow shook her head. Those two were close friends, arguably more than she was to Fluttershy when they were younger. At first, it baffed her until she realized how much they have in common compared to their other friends. They both liked nature and Fluttershy often helped out Applejack at the farm with her animals when she could. It made sense, even if seeing the two of them being close raised an eyebrow sometimes even now.

Rainbow's thoughts were interrupted by Twilight and Pinkie walking over. "What are you guys most excited for?" Pinkie asked. Rainbow smiled. "The T. rex. That thing is gonna be cool." Twilight smiled. "That's apparently the same rex as from the first park. I think her name is Rexy." Rainbow rolled her eyes. "That's a lame name, but still, she looks so awesome." Rarity whipped her hair as she finished putting the spray in her hair. "Well, I really want to see some calm herbivores in the Gryosphere ride. A T. rex ripping apart a goat is...ugh...just no. But, to see a Stegosaurus with its brilliant plates grazing right next to me, oh that'd be divine." Pinkie bounced up and down, "If they don't have any Brontosauruses, I'll settle for the aviary. Flying dinosaurs are my favorite outside of Brontos." Twilight sighed. She's told Pinkie before that pterosaurs aren't dinosaurs, but she keeps forgetting, it seems. At this point, she's given up trying to correct her.

Applejack chuckled a little at Twilight's frustration. "Well, I would love to see that Moss-asaurus." "Um, Mosasaurus." Fluttershy corrected. "Right, sorry." Applejack apologized. "But just something about that huge reptile jumping outta the water to catch a shark, it'd sure be something." Fluttershy smiled. "She seems like a good girl. But I wanna see the Gentle Giants Petting Zoo. All those baby dinosaurs, they're going to be so cute!" She gushed. Twilight smiled. "I can't wait to see the Innovation Center. Its suppose to be educational and fun." "Education is not fun, Twi." Rainbow snarked. Rarity rolled her eyes. "Oh, I'm sure they found a way to make even you want to learn, Dash." Rainbow scoffed. "Sure, Rare. And a mutant freak is gonna rampage the island." They all laughed at Rainbow's comment.

The ferry soon pulled up onto the docks. As they left the ferry, a man of Indian descent walked up to them. "You must be Twilight Sparkle and her friends. Welcome to Jurassic World!" Twilight's eyes widened. "Y-you're Simon Masrani!" He smiled. "Indeed I am. It's a delight to finally see you in the flesh, Twilight." "How'd you know who I am?" Twilight asked "Your parents and I were actually close once upon a time, Twilight. I've talked to them over the years and heard about you and your brothers. And may I say your just as pretty as I imagine. Certainly have your mother's looks from back then." He chuckled before turning to her friends. "And who are your friends?" "Oh, these are Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy." Rarity pushed through and grabbed Masrani's hand. "It's an honor to meet you, Mr. Masrani." Rarity gushed. He smiled. "Please, just call me Simon." Rarity blinked before fainting. Rainbow caught her before she hit the ground.

"I'm gonna take you to the Innovation Center and find you a guide to bring you around the park. But first, let's get your stuff to the hotel, shall we?" He said. They all nodded and grabbed their things, following Masrani to the monorail.

As the Jurassic World turns

As they rode the monorail across the track, Twilight still couldn't believe she was sitting next to the one and only Simon Masrani. How did her parents never tell her they were friends with him? He was just as charming as the interviews she's watched of him and he seems to really care about the well being of others. And the best part was, it seemed like he was going to be their tour guide for the park, which is just the coolest thing ever!

Behind her were the others. Rarity woke up from her fainting spell about five minutes ago and was currently reading a fashion magazine she brought with her to read while on the monorail. Pinkie stared out the window to try and spot dinosaurs, even though they weren't in the park yet. Rainbow was sleeping and snoring loudly, being bored out of her mind. Applejack and Fluttershy seemed to be looking at one of the park maps Masrani gave all of them once they were all aboard the monorail. Twilight soon heard the monorail voiceover say, "Okay, those of you in the front of the train should be able to see our main gate, built from the gate of the original park, over twenty years ago." Twilight got out of her seat and rushed forward to see the gate. She pushed through some people before she made it to the front. Her eyes widened as she saw the massive grey gate with blue text saying 'Jurassic World' open and let the monorail pass on through. She and her friends were finally here and she couldn't wait.

They got off and made it to one of the hotels. They set up their respective rooms. All the while, Masrani smiled at them. He always loved seeing guests look so pleased to be at the park. He looked at the tickets. "I see your mother got you girls VIP access instead of just the normal tickets. So you can get on all the rides without waiting in line." Rainbow smiled. "Seriously? Twi, your mom is awesome!" Masrani adjusted his suit before saying, "Let's get you to the Innovation Center. I've got someone to talk to and I imagine you'll want to see it."

As the six of them walked town Main Street, Rarity pointed out the numerous stores like the 'Jurassic Traders Gift Shop' and the 'Jurassic Traders Outpost' while Twilight just took in the sights. Fluttershy stopped briefly, looking up at the life sized fossil skeleton of a Spinosaurus aegyptiacus near by the T. rex enclosure. She was impressed by the size of it and frighten by the large claws on its hands. The sail and crocodilian-like jaw made it look unique among other dinosaurs and she wondered if it was in the park somewhere. She soon realized she was getting left behind and ran to catch up with them.

Twilight ran up the steps of the Innovation Center and pushed the doors open. As she entered, a massive Apatosaurus hologram suddenly appeared in the middle of the room. The massive sauropod walked forward slightly before bellowing. Masrani smiled at her child-like joy and wonder. "You girls have a look around. I've got to find Claire." He walked off to find the operation manager. Everyone wandered off to check the attractions. Pinkie joined the little kids in the dig pit while Rarity and Rainbow watched a video about the dinosaur's extinction. Fluttershy looked at the hologram of the long necked Apatosaur, in awe of its size. She soon found the Holoscape control pad which listed numerous different dinosaurs, some that weren't listed as being in the park themselves. She read that they appear at their full size in holographic form. She clicked a symbol and the hologram went from an Apatosaurus to a Parasaurolophus. It was standing on all fours before the crested hadrosaur shifted to its hind legs and shook its head before letting out a loud call. She smiled as she couldn't wait to see one in the flesh. She looked back at the control pad, wondering what other dinosaurs she could get a preview of before seeing them for real.

As Twilight read a plaque on the large statue of John Hammond, the man who built the first park, she could hear Masrani and someone else argue. She looked as he and a red haired woman in white clothing came down the stairs and they were arguing badly. "Really, Simon? I'm too busy to watch my own nephews who are with my assistant currently and now you want me to watch six more? I'm not doing it." "Please, Claire," Masrani said, "I'm busy as well, which is why I thought you could watch them, seeing as you were suppose to spend time with your nephews. Twilight's parents are old friends of mine and i don't want to disappoint them." They soon reached the bottom of the stairs. He looked over at Twilight who looked nervously at him. She decided to walk forward. Claire sighed. "Look, I'm sorry, but I'm busy even without what you asked me about talking to Mr Grady about checking the paddock for weaknesses. I just don't have the time today." Masrani himself sighed. "I understand. I just thought you could help me out. Oh, well." Twilight walked forward and Masrani decided to introduce her. "Twilight, this is my operation manager, Claire Dearing. Claire, this is Twilight Sparkle." Twilight and Claire shook hands while in the back, the hologram shifted to an armoured Ankylosaurus that snorted and smacked its club on the ground before laying down. "It's nice to meet you, Claire." Claire allowed herself a smile. "Likewise." Her phone buzzed. "Excuse me a moment, please." She walked away slightly as she answered her phone.

Twilight turned to Simon as he sighed. "I'm really sorry, Twilight. I thought she could help, but I forgot about her schedule. Still, with her nephews here, I thought she could take some time off. I guess I'll have to find someone else." Twilight decided to shake some of his concerns. "You know, I think me and my friends are old enough to not need someone to watch us." Masrani looked uncertain. "I don't know. It's not that I don't trust you, but the park is huge and full of people, and that's without mentioning the prehistoric carnivores. If you aren't careful, your mother will kill me." But Twilight reassured him. "It'll be fine. But, I'll give you my number and you give me yours in case things go wrong, okay?" Masrani thought for a minute before nodding. They swapped numbers before Claire walked forward, having finished her call. "So, what's going on here?" She asked. Masrani smiled. "Me and Twilight figured it out. There's no problem anymore." Claire sighed in relief. "Good to know."

Just then, the hologram shifted to a gigantic Tyrannosaurus rex who stood tall before roaring loudly. They looked shocked for a second before turning to the Holoscape. They saw Fluttershy looking started by the roar, clearly not expecting it to be so loud. Twilight rolled her eyes at her friend's reaction, quite used to seeing Fluttershy get easily frightened while Masrani looked a little more sympathetic and Claire soon looked disinterested. She looked at Masrani. "I'm glad you've got it sorted out, but I got to go." He nodded. "Of course." She walked towards the exit of the Innovation Center. Masrani looked at Twilight as he asked. "Are you sure you'll be fine?" Twilight nodded. He sighed before nodding himself. "Alright, I'm trusting you. I gotta go. I'll definitely make this up to you tomorrow with a private tour." He patted her shoulder before walking into the Hammond Creation Lab.

Twilight watched as he walked off. She was dishearten by him leaving, but knew she couldn't change his busy schedule. She shook her head before continuing to look around the Innovation Center.
